The president has dementia.

I’m a cartoonist and a writer, and I am most assuredly not a gerontologist. I did not go to medical school. If I am not an expert in aging and cognitive decline, how do I know President Biden has dementia? The same way you and I and everyone else know things to be true despite our lack of credentials: experience and pattern recognition.

I don’t need to be an ornithologist in order to identify a blue jay.

I’m not a doctor, yet I was right and my doctor was wrong when I told her I had a hernia and she said I didn’t; I’d had one on my left side in 1999, and this felt like that but on my right. Knowing your own body sometimes counts for more than formal education.

I didn’t go to New York University film school. Despite my lack of official accreditation in cinema, I know, as do you, that Meryl Streep is a better actor than Brendan Fraser. We know this to be true because we have seen a lot of movies.

When my car’s wheel well issues a rubbing sound that gets faster when I accelerate, I know it’s probably an issue involving brake pads, ball bearings (if the car has significant mileage) or wheel alignment. I’m not a mechanic. But I’m 57; I’ve driven since I was 15 and had enough rubbing sounds to have learned what it probably means.

When I watched Biden’s first presidential press conference last week, I didn’t have to be an M.D. or a Ph.D appended to my name to recognize the clear, painfully obvious signs of dementia. My mother died of Alzheimer’s a little over a year ago. The president looked and acted like my mom about two years before she died: valiantly struggling to hold it together, moments of lucidity and occasional brilliance alternating with terrifying brain freezes, random rambling in search of connection and reaction, and cringy rhetorical crashes when the fremdschamen-o-meter shot to 11.

It took five reporters a question and four follow-ups to make Biden understand that he was being asked whether he favored the elimination of the filibuster, a question at the top of political news since he came into office. Here’s what the commander in chief finally came up with: “If we could end it with 51, we would have no problem. You’re going to have to — the existing rule — it’s going to be hard to get a parliamentary ruling that allows 50 votes to end the filibuster, the existence of a filibuster” (my emphasis added).

Abdicating journalism, corporate media outlets dutifully transcribed Biden’s response despite its glaring wrongness. Whether or not the filibuster as we know it survives has nothing, nada, zip to do with a Senate parliamentarian ruling. Paradoxically, a simple 51-vote majority could kill the filibuster.

ORDER IT NOW

Biden’s answer was — had to be (there’s no other possible explanation) — the product of dementia. Before, after all, Biden was as intimately knowledgeable about Senate rules and procedure as any human being on Earth. He served 36 years as a senator and eight years as vice president/president of the Senate — a total of 42 years. There was no world in which Biden would have said anything so totally, crazily, amazingly incorrect. Not drunk, not asleep, not at all.

Dementia frustrates. As its victim’s inner life becomes harder to articulate to others, the victim occasionally lashes out in disproportionate anger. We’ve seen this more and more with Biden, watching a famously affable guy with a patented aw-shucks grin deteriorate into nervous hardness and even rage.

And dementia befuddles. It mixes your knowledge and memories and opinions into a blender; though you often sound OK, what spews out of your mouth increasingly approaches randomness. That’s what happened to Biden during his presser. He obviously conflated two bits of news: the parliamentarian’s ruling that a proposed minimum wage increase be stripped from the coronavirus relief bill, which grabbed news attention, with the question about the filibuster. Vice President Biden would never have done that. Sen. Biden wouldn’t have either. He knew/knows this stuff too well.

Everyone forgets stuff. It happens more with age. What’s happening to Biden isn’t the occasional senior moment, nor is it stuttering — as Biden himself has said. Biden crashing and burning on a question about Senate procedure would be like me messing up questions about Photoshop or Central Asia, two things that have been central to most of my life. If I start mixing up RGB and CMYK and Ashgabat and Astana, topics I know forward and backward and about which I am obsessed, that will point not to “whatever; no biggie” but to worrisome cognitive decline.

Biden supporters who deny the visible signs of Biden’s mental deterioration are acting no more rationally than the Trumpies who made excuses for the former president’s crazy behavior. You can feel relief that Trump is gone and believe Biden to be an improvement while conceding that Biden isn’t up to the job and should step down in favor of Vice President Kamala Harris. This is the U.S. presidency. Good enough is anything but.

The fact that “Biden has dementia” is a Republican National Committee/Fox News talking point does not make it incorrect. Denying obvious truths — Trump is a racist jerk; climate change is real and caused by mankind; masks help fight COVID; Biden has dementia — makes you look stupid and silly, and no one should listen to you.

Trump’s war against truth was toxic. His supporters and enablers undermined decency and logical rhetoric, essential foundations of civil discourse. Democrats who refuse to watch Biden’s dismal, unscripted public appearances, who fail to question the president’s unwillingness to face the press at the same rate as his predecessors and who omit mention of his frequent mental breakdowns are no better than Trump and the Republicans.

There are tens of millions of people that understand this and voted for him anyway. We have to live with the consequences of that while our media does everything in its power to avoid saying what we all know to be true out loud – at least until their political fellow travelers signal its time to do otherwise because it’s in the best interests of the Democratic party.

  2. Now Ted Rall, look in the mirror and repeat:

I have dementia as well as every other leftist Democrat. And since all leftists and Democrats are bat-shit crazy and we need to be confined in a state mental institution.

We have Reagan to blame for this when he was Governor of California. If he hadn’t started this nonsense and signed a bill eliminating locking up of bat-shit crazy liberals and leftists they’d still be locked up to this day.

    Thanks for playing.

I cared for my mother who died of dementia. I’ve had many other relatives who were stricken with it. Those of us who’ve dealt with this, know how serious this is and saw Biden’s tell-tale patterns when he was campaigning. His recent stumbles and short-term memory lapses shows he is quite far along — mid stage. It’s amazing how fast it can go, but at this point in time, he can still show some lucid moments. Within the next year, it’s going to become increasingly noticeable, as his short-term memory fails, his fall risk will require he use a walker (once they fall and become bedridden, the decline is extremely rapid). His loss of cognitive function will leave him confused over everything. In two years, he will likely have to resign his position, check into a memory-care unit, and start using a walker/wheelchair. But, there are many different types of dementia, so it progresses different rates. He is only 78, so maybe he can continue his job for a few years more. But, in the cases that I know of, I wouldn’t count on it. Even at this stage, he almost certainly lacks the cognitive skills to function as president.

I wouldn’t wish this on anyone. It’s a lose-lose situation, for everyone on the right and those who elected a moderate. If he fails fast, Kamela Harris will likely be President. If it’s a slow decline, his present handlers are just as bad.

  4. His supporters and enablers undermined decency and logical rhetoric, essential foundations of civil discourse.

I did no such thing you lying piece of shit.

  5. jsinton says:

In the time of Nixon, it was the COVERUP that was the most important thing about Watergate, not the actual break in. It was that Nixon engaged in far worse corruption trying to stop the story. Same goes with Biden and his obvious problem. We could forgive Biden for being old and feeble. The media, the government, the administration is all trying to COVERUP for Biden, which in my view is a far bigger issue. It displays how the ENTIRE system is rotten and baseless, how those in power could care less about people as human beings, how we are simply cattle to be prodded around.

  6. Denying obvious truths — Trump is a racist jerk; climate change is real and caused by mankind; masks help fight COVID; Biden has dementia — makes you look stupid and silly, and no one should listen to you.

Saying obvious untruths makes you look stupid and silly, and no one should listen to you.

But I’ll give you one last chance:

What specifically has Trump ever said or done that is racist and what specifically makes him a jerk?

What part of the extreme heat waves of the 1930s and the 1910s–far hotter than anything today–tells you that climate change is real just now? What exactly is your specific evidence that climate change is man made?

What part of Dr. Fauci’s insistence that masks do not work to help fight COVID are you challenging? What about the thousands of other physicians that say the same thing: masks don’t work? What about all of the studies that show masks don’t work do you not believe? Are you unable or just unwilling to follow the science?

It’s difficult to understand how anyone could say these things you say. You obviously have a case of dementia at least 10 times worse than Joe Biden.

It is lunacy, Ted. Complete, utter lunacy. Nobody, even those who spout the same silly and stupid lies can name even one instance to support those silly and stupid things you appear to believe. There is nothing to support your claims. So why do you keep saying them?

  7. Denying obvious truths — Trump is a racist jerk; climate change is real and caused by mankind; masks help fight COVID; Biden has dementia — makes you look stupid and silly, and no one should listen to you.

‘Racist’ means that you have lost the argument and are, in essence, spitting at someone. No one takes this type of charge seriously except Jews and marxist vermin.
Climate change is a fraud to get lemmings, like the author, to agree to consume less while the rich feast and fly.
Masks don’t work and covid is mostly flu and over.
This author is a typical, ‘good-white’, libtard hypocrite who slurps semitic [email protected] for a living while betraying his own people. His ancestors would hate him and his kids probably do.

Cheesus K Reist, that is as demented as anything coming from Biden’s mouth.

The establishment’s satanic hate for truths which Trump legitimised saying – that major media news is often fake, that it’s ok to fight globalism, that it’s ok to defend your own culture, that the USA should disentangle from wars – is Trump’s enduring badge of honour, despite Trump’s flaws and how he disappointed

  14. Did anyone see the latest photo of Biden climbing the stairs to his plane, carrying his umbrella and briefcase and NOT using the handrail? Is he trying to show that he can do it. I’ve seen pics of someone holding the umbrella for the President in the rain. Can’t someone carry his briefcase, too? It appears that they’re literally setting him up for a fall.

How anyone can say this after twenty years of unprecedented lying from the media and the establishment–in regard to the 2000 and 2004 elections, 9/11, the “war on terror,” “weapons of mass destruction,” Anthrax, Gaddafi Viagra, Ukraine, Russiagate, the White Helmets, Aleppo, ISIS, and so on down the line–really leaves me slackjawed.

And I don’t even like Trump. But compared to the tsunami of lies hurled at him, his “looseness” with the truth is practically Gospel…

“Biden isn’t up to the job” may be the stupidest thing ever published on Unz. And Kersey is on here.

Biden’s job is Reagan’s job, which Reagan did just fine with a 12 IQ. The job is to stay out of the way while CIA preys on the country and the world. Biden is the perfect guy for that job, because he’s helpless.

It doesn’t matter that the Biden doctrine is Russia killer doggie roulette cookies Romper Stoomper where am I oop I peed. None of Biden’s foreign interlocutors give a shit what he thinks because they know who runs the country. Putin came out and said so, though he euphemistically called CIA the bureaucracy. Everyone who’s not demented knows POTUS is a puppet ruler.

  19. You can feel relief that Trump is gone and believe Biden to be an improvement while conceding that Biden isn’t up to the job and should step down in favor of Vice President Kamala Harris.

Sadly, the Democrats have a serious problem as Kamala doesn’t want to be POTUS nor does she have the mental fordititude to be POTUS. Kamala is no Queen Boudica or Elizabeth I or a Joan of Arc. But, I could see her at the head of an LGBTTTQQIAA army.

Her total lack of ability in tackling the US-Mexico border issue that was supposedly assigned to her is a clear indication she has no real interest in the Executive. She blew off her assignment like a teenager blows off homework assigned the Friday before the weekend. We have yet to hear of any glowing reports from the jew run media about any substantive resolutions regarding Kamala’s border security policies.

Of course, if I was in her position I wouldn’t want to be tasked with handling this hot potato either. Best just to recommend re-implementation of former President Trump’s border policies. Other than that there’s no use in making recommendations that will only be tossed aside making oneself look like a fool.

As it stands the policy of open-borders and catch-and-release is the official policy of the Biden regime. To try and suggest a policy, any policy, other than the current one is political suicide.

    True. And missing the point.

Biden is a total corporate whore who has spent half a century stabbing the working class in the back. Now he is indeed senile, but so what? Team Biden carries on. Joe Biden the man could be freeze-dried and nailed to the chair in the Oval Office and it would not matter.

But it’s also about power: by getting the public to vote for such a hollow shell of a vermin of a failed human being, the elites demonstrate their domination over us. The utterly disgusting corrupt and moronic Biden is not a bug he’s a feature. By getting people to vote for him the elites grind us down, we become complicit in our slavery.

    Like the old Chinese fable:

“Zhao Gao was a man who was hungry for power. After declaring Huhai Qin Er Shi, he decided to control the entire government. The man brought a deer to a meeting. He showed that deer in front of the emperor and the officials, and said it was a great horse. The emperor, who regarded Zhao Gao as a teacher and therefore trusted him completely, thought it was a deer, and many officials thought so too. Some were afraid of Zhao Gao, but seeing that Qin Er Shi also regarded it as a horse, said nothing. Others agreed to its being a horse. Zhao Gao murdered the officials who remained silent or called it a deer.” – (Wikipedia)

Ted you know full well that the Democrats have been lying about race so don’t pretend they have any moral authority. Spare us with your empty platitudes about “civil discourse” when most Democrat politicians and journalists would ban this website if they could for allowing open talks on race.

As an establishment supporter you of course support the lie of race not existing because in your mind oh well that’s different because we have to lie about that for society. I could see Democrats creating a Ministry of Truth that investigates dissenters like Trump while allowing lies about race because that’s different.

Why are you even on an anti-establishment website? Is Democrat conformity just too stuffy for you?

“Biden isn’t up to the job” may be the stupidest thing ever published on Unz. And Kersey is on here.

No he isn’t up to the job.

Part of the job is doing a simple press conference and even with note cards and softball questions he still screwed it up. Did you watch the last one? The press treats him like a kid and he still botches it.

3 months in and he can’t explain his border policy even though Central America obviously thinks he is a pushover and continues to leave children at the border. North Korea – um…er….um we’re gonna talk with our Allies….er….um.

I supported Trump not because I am a fan but because I knew Biden would flop right away. He was only saved by Blacks and the media which is what everyone seems to forget. White leftists correctly pegged Biden early on as a mediocre corporate whore that shouldn’t run. Only later were they talked into accepting him out of hatred of Trump and fear that Sanders would lose.

This is only going to get worse. Kamala is proving to be worthless which isn’t a surprise to those of us that pointed out how she BJ’d her way to the top in California. She looks like she wants to run away. This is what happens when you hire a Black(ish) woman just because the media tells you to.

  27. The “war on truth” was not Trump’s invention, and in it he is a total bit player — although exceptionally impolite, uncouth, full of flailing and bluster.

The War On Truth is the leading product of the Lie Factory. The Lie Factory has been in operation in America, on an increasingly monopoly basis, for about 80 years — longer than most of us have been alive. It’s brand name is “Mainstream Media.”

“Magic bullet,” anyone? How ’bout a “Gulf of Tonkin Incident”? Or would you prefer our blue plate “Free Enterprise” special? Would you like that with a side of “Middle Class values”? You could have that with the Sirhan Sirhan dressing if you like, with the special Lee Harvey Oswald sauce. So yummy! And there’s always that old standby, the Pearl Harbor Sneak Attack meatloaf. Or for something more up-to-date try the “babies thrown out of incubators” for desert? We can serve that a la mode with “Niger yellow cake uranium” frosting, if you prefer it that way. Or how bout a big slice of “weapons of mass destruction” — blood rare? Or maybe the Madeleine Albright “a million dead Iraqi children was worth it” shit soufflé? So nutritious! Or, for our piece de resistance, try the “19 Arabs with boxcutters” deluxe. You can’t go wrong with that!

It’s not Biden who has dementia so much as the American “citizenry” which has been lobotomized — by, guess who? Just follow the money, dolt.

  28. @ruralguy

If he fails fast, Kamela Harris will likely be President.

It has been obvious for quite awhile that that’s been the plan all along – for her to be POTUS.

That’s who the globalists/Deep State/ Dem Party, etc. wanted but she bombed out early. Before even the first primary. So, they went with the most well-known person/name they had. That’s the only reason Dementia Joe got the nominations. He’s the vehicle to get her in the POTUS seat.

They’ve both telegraphed that many times as well. By referring to it as the “Harris administration” and with her taking many calls from foreign leaders, etc.

He’s really bad but, it will be simply awful when she ascends the throne. Marxism to the max.

Whether Trump is racist is open to serious question. Man-made climate change may be the only bigger hoax than covid; climate’s been changing since earth had an atmosphere, and man has very little to do with it. Not one of the alarmist predictions from climate alarmists has ever come true. Several controlled studies have definitively proven masks are useless against covid; the pores are hundreds of times the size of the virus, for God’s sake, and exhaled air leaks from top, bottom and sides. Just compare Texas and Mississippi to NY, NJ, MI since early March when the former two states dropped masks mandates. TX, Miss straight down; NY, NJ, MI starting back up.

I always wondered why Ted Rall, obviously a starry-eyed antedeluvian progressive, has long been billed in the right-hand lineup of Unz columnists or contributors, but (unless I missed it) never before ascended to the exalted rank of the author of a featured story. Now I know why. (I guess Easter Sunday is a suitably slow day here on Unz.)

Has the author, in his very cursory observation of the traditional mechanics of the U.S. political system, encountered neither the time-honored expression Shadow Government (plainly described at least three decades ago by Sen. Inouye) or the updated vogue term Deep State now in use just about everywhere? Is he really unaware of the long list of elected/selected presidents who obediently fulfilled their cosmetic roles as willing but impotent mediagenic figureheads for that unelected cabal?

Or is he simply embarrassed that the current chief executive is already no more credible than his predecessors? At least the elderly White House resident won’t be allowed to wander off, although the one he replaced showed a few dangerous signs of straying off the resewrvation.

Does Rall really believe that a president, who can’t even choose, let alone direct, his own preselected cabinet executives, can somehow influence the global climate or weather patterns? Maybe he can also turn back the tides or vanquish mysterious viruses by edict.

And is he honestly expecting a president to speak only unvarnished truths to the public when we all know that the operative political truth now comes mainly from the anonymous fact-checkers of the media monopoly charged with marketing the threadbare official narrative? Or could it be that Ted Rall is just repackaging here one of his naive cartoons into an essay?

Your typical fake fact-checking site says:

Despite the U.S. sweltering in 1934, that year was not especially hot over the rest of the planet, as you can see on the 1934 map below. Globally, 1934 temperatures were actually cooler than average for the 20th century.

The only extensive and reliable set of weather stations in the 1930s were in the U.S. and England. The rest of the world had so few, sparsely spaced stations, that no reliable conclusions can be drawn from them. Your warmist colleagues simply fudge the data by adjusting historical temperatures downward and recent temperatures upwards.

They also have absolutely no reliable data for the ocean temperatures in the 30s so they just interpolate from cities on adjacent continents. For instance, they will calculate the temperature of the entire South Atlantic as the average of weather station data from Rio, Lagos and Cape Town. They call this homogenization. Unfortunately it uses the urban heat-island effect to artificially raise the temperature of the ocean.

But then of course, you ignore the fact that the North-West passage was open in the 1940s just as it is currently and cite that as proof of unprecedented warming.

  76. SafeNow says:

“This is the U.S. presidency. Good enough is anything but.”

Absolutely. World temperatures have once again paused and actually seem to have declined for the past five years. February set absolutely frigid temperature records across the world and the Thames froze for the first time in 60 years. All despite continuing increases in atmospheric CO2 levels, which did not even pause with the lock-downs of the past year.

All due, probably, to the current deepening La Nina. All of the big spikes in world temperatures over the past 50 years have happened during El Ninos. The warmists have no idea what what causes these cycles in the Pacific and they certainly haven’t related them to CO2.

“Climate change” is indeed af raid – but not in the way that most people think!

It might well be the case that dumping gigatons of CO2 into the atmosphere is a bad idea.

But. In Syria, the government ignited a population explosion, and quadrupled the population in just 36 years. The long-term precipitation over Syria has NOT gone down, it’s just that there are now four times as many people relying on that water. To say that Syrian refugees are due to ‘climate change’ is simply a lie, there can be no other determination.

In the 1950’s the population of California was about 10 million, and it was a pretty nice place to live. The population has been about quadrupled, mostly by government policy, and now water is running tight even though rainfall is trending about the same as it has for the last century. There is no way that the increasing tight supplies of fresh water in that state can be due to climate change.

To recap, ‘climate change’ may well be a long-term threat, but it is being widely blamed for things having nothing to do with the climate.

It was great for the reporters and they wish it to continue but Biden isn’t going to. I think it is already clear he is going to be very carefully protected. He is not really bad for his age, when considering his extensive brain bleeds and other medical history (son’s brain cancer is likely something to do with Bidens genes). It is part of the aging process and he got to the White House when he was simply too old.

Biden had no reelection committee, clearly Dems believe he could not run for reelection when well into his eighties. Harris doesn’t want to be president, yet. The plan is for Biden to do everything controversial, then leave in good time and good order to give Harris the best chance, but resigning before the year is out would discredit the Democrats for offering him as candidate while having inside knowledge of his condition. Harris will have a short time in the White House before she runs for a full term so I do not expect anything much to happen until she is back as an elected president. Biden going now would stop any big policy changes, like decriminaliziation of crossing the border; Pres Harris will be looking to win an election.

Trump’s war on truth? Funny, the lying Jewish media claimed that Trump was at “war” with “a free press”, no? Yes! Many Americans stated that Trump was saying what WE were thinking but couldn’t say thanks to the generations of lies by subversive Jewish elites led by the ADL, no? Yes! Did Trump shut down the lying Jewish media? No, the lying Jewish media shut down the free speech of Trump supporters that called out the obvious lies of the Jewish media and both the democratic and Republican establishment.

Trump was surrounded by a bunch of backstabbing Jews like Kushner, Cohen and Barr. The biggest lies Trump told were the ones that the lying Jewish media APPROVED- attacking Syria, sanctions on Russia, and declaring Golan Heights to be the property of Israel.

The genius of the Alt-right was so great that the Jewish establishment had to crush them with their ambush and BIG LIES about Charlottesville then stole and inverted the entire platform for themselves. “Woke” use to mean awareness of the Jewish lies and their nefarious domination of our countries institutions. “Resistance” use to mean resistance to the Jewish establishment. Memes used humor to attack the pseudo-sanctity of the lying Jewish narrative of innocence and victimhood. Armies of on-line Jews from Israel to the ADL scoured Alt-right websites and comments sections to steal every idea they could like a clone army of Jonathan Pollards! Weasel Jews like Ben Shapiro vampired the entire persona of the alt-right where he went from being a whiny pussy to tough guy and became the “controlled opposition” leader of the alt-kike as the Jews desperately try to wrestle back control of the Republican Party that spent decades fulfilling the agenda of wars for Israel and tax cuts/out-sourcing and importing for Jewish globalists while the Jewish media painted Republicans as the party of EVIL “WHITE men”.

If anyone in Trump’s camp had a brain they would have created a campaign ad that demonstrated every time Trump was right but the lying media claimed he was “evil” and “wrong”.

As for dementia Joe, the self-admitted “Zionist” and his completely disingenuous, character chameleon Harris you can bet the Jews are writing all of his policy and press conference cheat sheets. His administration is stacked with Jews in every area the Jews seek to control. America is finished.

If “diversity” was really a strength there would be no “Jewish homeland” and an ethnically homogenous China wouldn’t be the worlds new leader as the “diverse” west has become the laughing stock of the world.

But his enablers are much worse. Biden has wanted to be president his whole life, and thinks he’s qualified. And he was qualified, no less than any other idiot career politician that our country seems to prefer (with the glorious exception of Donald J. Trump). Biden maybe a hapless old doofus, but I don’t know if he’s evil in intent even if his policies have that result.

But his handlers are truly evil, using him as a sock puppet, shifting his lifelong semi-moderate-by-today’s-standards principles (he did have a few). How about his wife and children, who are supposed to be doting on and protecting their patriarch in the sunset of his life? This is elder abuse and the stresses of the job, though Biden’s routine tries to minimize them as much as possible, will surely shorten his life. I almost feel sorry for him.

My hypothesis is a lot different than just the sun, but there could be a universe situation involved. I’m a firm believer that the Earth on the inside is warming up . I say this because all those glaciers , I used to climb in the 70s have retreated immensely. And Alaska hasn’t turned into a Florida – yet. After readin old Zacharia Stitchen { sp} in the 80s , I kept my eye out for articles of polar shifts and as the poles move around, so do the tectonic plates, and this also awakens the volcanoes of the earth and cause tsunamis. Of course nuclear charges set in the plates can also replicate some of these natural disasters, along with weather weapons. A super magnetic force traveling the universe could really screw up our planet. I do believe that all these exterior and interior forces could affect the weather patterns, but this is mostly Mother Nature . Weather weapons/tools are already in use for some positive programs but the reverse is true – also. My 2 Rubles worth Alfred.

Yes, the cause of senility is known. Look up type 3 diabetes.
All the diseases of civilization have grown exponentially. What, you’ve never heard of them? Heart disease, diabetes, Alzheimers, kidney disease, most cancers, 30 various autoimmune diseases – these barely exist/existed in populations not eating the Western diet. Oversimplified, consumption of refined carbs causes hyperinsulinemia which drives these diseases. Additionally, infiltration of seed oils – misnamed vegetable oils- into the food supply independently worsens health. But the refined carbs problem is growing worse because the gluten in flour has been weaponized to be even more addictive by genetic engineering.
The food industry likes your addition to flour and sugar. The drug and sick-care industries don’t want cures, they want treatments. All three oppose the simple cure for diseases of civilization, which is a low-carb diet.

There is no destabilization. The earths atmosphere is constantly evolving, and has been since the birth of the planet. Current CO2 levels are a little above 400 ppm. What do you, scientists and/or government officials want to reduce these CO2 levels to? Here’s a little hint for your WAG: Most plants start to die with CO2 levels below 150 ppm, although some can survive at 10 ppm. The optimum CO2 level for plant growth is around 1200 ppm. Decreases in CO2 will decrease plant photosynthesis (growth rates) and oxygen in the atmosphere.

As a side note, the sun’s luminescence is still increasing and will continue for billions of years. Nothing you can do about that.

  137. @anon

I don’t give much time to screaming, hysterical banshees such as yourself, but I’ll just say that the 30s were the hottest years on record in the United States with 1936 being the hottest of the hot. You can find this easily in the newspapers of that time, including rags like the New York Times.

Both sets of my parents left different parts of the mid-West due to the heat and drought and came to California in 1938 so I know that what I’m talking about is true.

And any papers of the time in the 1910s will relate the murderous hot spells in Western Europe and in the United States that killed thousands of people.

Then there are the late 1800s which had multiple hurricanes all over the world as well as the huge huge forest fires ten times larger than anything over the last few years.

All of these weather events occurred way before there was anything about some kind of phony CO2 threat.

Climate alarmism is based on several falsities.

One, is the false belief that CO2 causes warming and that it is man-made CO2 that is at fault. It has become clear that it is solar activity that is responsible for cooling and warming of the earth and that it is cyclical.

Two is that modeling of climate can be accurate. Modeling is completely inaccurate. The projections are utter hooey. This would be obvious to anyone listening to the predictions by climate alarmists over the past 40 years. None of their predictions has ever come true and in fact over 40 years ago they were predicting a new Ice Age.

Three is that the so-called “climate scientists” have been changing the historical data to hide the warmth of the 30s and the climate events of the 1910s and the late 1800s. For reasons unknown, they have deliberately been falsifying the historical record.

The only reason I can think of is that climate alarmism–like so many other myths and hoaxes of the 21st century–has become a religion and is really just a cult.

Yet, the science and the historical record is clear: climate warming has nothing to do with man and, in fact, our species does much, much better when Earth is warmer. Plants do better when there is more CO2.

This means that even if the screaming banshees proffering this enormous hoax religion are correct? We will have more vegetation and we will do much better. Maybe they can start cultivating wine again in England like they did hundreds of years ago. Maybe Greenland can be re-settled again like it was for centuries about a thousand years ago.

It’s all good, screamer. Calm yourself down. Go out and get some sun. Live dangerously. Take a chance. Leave the sun screen at home.

The big, over-arching agenda unfolding before them. Like in early 20th century Russia, like in 1930s Germany and elsewhere in Europe.

Well, I get it now. It’s because people are kept pitted against one another instead of working with each other against the elites, it’s because so much coming from the media is LIES and brainwashing agenda, it’s because facts, reason and just truth have become treason and because adults have become infantilized to believe any viewpoint different than their own is just wrong or immoral. (The vaccines are becoming one of those wedge issues, intentionally.)

You’re spot on about the diseases of civilization but perhaps too kind to Big Pharma. What they really want is sick people who come begging at their door for treatment. They quite willing to lead you down the garden path into illness and then proclaim they and only they have the cure.

On the issue of Biden’s dementia at least, Ted happens to be a little more honest than your average Democrat/liberal. But so what? What Ted wrote is what ANY ordinary person with common sense — regardless of political beliefs — should have no problem stating at all.

Pointing out a painfully obvious truth that even a child can see doesn’t make Ted special or extraordinary. He is of the left, and that fact alone will always place him so fundamentally at odds with the truth, even if he does on occasion say something true here and there.

the so-called “climate scientists” have been changing the historical data to hide the warmth of the 30s and the climate events of the 1910s and the late 1800s. For reasons unknown, they have deliberately been falsifying the historical record.

Just to illustrate your excellent point, here’s a graph of the adjustments that GISS has made to global temperatures over the past century. When the adjustments correlate almost exactly with the increases in atmospheric CO2 concentration, you know there’s some serious hanky-panky going on. But in the last 200 odd years we added huge amounts of energy to the Earth system through fossil fuel combustion and the emission of greenhouse gases. So the climate stability is gone, leading to extremes of heat and dry, and of deluges and floods as the hydrological cycle has been deranged and amplified. Did you miss all this in high school science? Ah, high school-there’s the rub.
So we left the Holocene, went through the Anthropocene, and are now in the Pyrocene or Noahcene, or perhaps the Morocene to give the omnicidal Dunning-Krugerites their due. Homo ‘sapiens’ brought down by its dullards. It’s almost amusing.

Syria suffered a deep drought, and droughts are deepening and coming on more quickly (flash droughts) in many places, while others suffer intense floods, or prolonged deluges. That’s the ‘instability’ that the local Dunning-Krugerites don’t comprehend. Your point about population is well made, but climate instability is here. The drought in Syria was used to insert terrorist butchers to foment civil unrest, then open aggression, murder, torture and savagery, all for the USA, Saud and Zionazi benefit and delight. You can expect the Real Axis Of Evil to take advantage of climate instability to sow terror, or even to exacerbate climate and weather extremes with technological means.

He weathered the climate-gate scandal with help from his friends, refused to divulge the data behind it, and thereby lost the libel suit he had lodged against Tim Ball for suggesting he belonged in State Pen rather than Penn State. Looks like he is about to lose the nine-year-long vanity suit he launched against Mark Steyn as well.

Your claim is simply wrong. In the past several thousand years, we have had the Roman Warm Period, the Medieval Warm Period and the Current Warm Period, with fine harvests and rapid population growth. Interspersed were serious cold times with crop failures, famines and plagues.

in the last 200 odd years we added huge amounts of energy to the Earth system through fossil fuel combustion

At no time has the energy we’ve produced by fossil-fuel production amounted to anything more than an insignificant fraction of what we receive from the sun. It might possibly contribute a bit to the modest urban heat island effect, but even that is more due to changes in the Earth’s albedo from asphalt and other construction. You can stand next to a power plant without feeling that much heat.

Sorry Mulga, but the debate is essentially over from a scientific standpoint. 1. CO2 is a trace gas in our atmosphere, and nowhere near sufficient to present a climate threat even if Tripled. The IPCC group had to assume a vast increase in water vapor (resulting from CO2 increases) to get their results, and it has not happened. Moreover, The IPCC model has been wildly non-predictive of the actual climate changes for decades. 2. The real clincher comes from the studies of ice cores, which provide a record of temperature and CO2 spanning hundreds of millions of years. Years ago, it was found that periods of extreme warming and increase in atmospheric CO2 did in fact coincide. But when the cores were examined in greater detail, it was discovered that in ALL cases, periods of massive warming and cooling always preceeded – they did not follow – changes in atmospheric CO2. Our planet has already carried out this experiment, and the CO2 theory has failed the test. Warming is occurring; has been since the end of the Ice Age. If you want to fix this, you need to find the real culprit(s) and stop chasing shadows and discredited myths.

Torn apart? By whom? Your tin-pot Gods, the Koch brothers, or one of their paid flunkies? It is truly Dunning-Krugerism at its most ghastly to compare the Roman and Medieval warmings with the situation now. The quintessence of dumb.
The Sun’s radiance is usually balanced by re-radiance into space, otherwise we would have cooked long ago. But now the re-radiated energy is being trapped by greenhouse gases, hence the slow but remorseless build up of energy in the system. Once again, High School stuff, if you could comprehend it. And you attempt to dismiss the derangement of global hydrology, with the extra c.7% of water vapour in the atmosphere per one degree Celsius rise in average temperatures, with a story about your experience of tornadoes??!! AND covid cured the common influenza……..Washington state had ZERO deaths from influenza this flu season, how is that possible? Masks? social distancing?

And if you really believe that then you MUST consider all these restriction as permanent ……. if we can save one life, RIGHT?

It was going well until this:

Denying obvious truths — Trump is a racist jerk; climate change is real and caused by mankind; masks help fight COVID; Biden has dementia — makes you look stupid and silly, and no one should listen to you.

Er… Perhaps no one should listen to you either… I see no evidence of any of those things except perhaps the last one.

Also, the idea that Kamala will be better as president is also demented. I prefer an insane Biden; it’s at least more fun to watch.

  211. AndrewR says:
    @John Fisher

It took me a while to realize this, but the hatred for Trump comes down to the fact that he’s a talented demagogue who can rouse crowds like no one in US history. Perhaps no one in world history besides Uncle A. Unfortunately for us, DJT’s similarities with AH stop there. Mustache Man was an extremely selfless man who deeply loved his people. He was also very bright. Orange Man is a venal conman with the attention span of a gnat.

Given the indoctrination we goyim have been subjected to for >80 years, and the limitless capacity for delusion and dishonesty that the tribe has, I would say very few people in positions of power are able to comprehend that Trump’s similarity to Hitler is entirely superficial.

  212. (Trump’s) supporters and enablers undermined decency and logical rhetoric.

I asked decency and logical rhetoric what they thought about leftists. They said they’d never met any or even heard of them.

  213. Dumbo says:

That Biden has some mental problems was clear since he introduced his granddaughter as “my son Beau”, then by the wrong name. Then another time he introduced his wife as his sister (did he watch Chinatown too many times or what?).

To realize that both “Covid” and “climate change” are obvious scams, well, that takes a bit more of brain power, but not too much.

  214. Denying obvious truths — Trump is a racist jerk; climate change is real and caused by mankind; masks help fight COVID; Biden has dementia — makes you look stupid and silly, and no one should listen to you.

Trump was friends with Rosa Parks – didn’t know that did you? That’s because he refuses to virtue signal. As for masks, the Danish study put that one to bed once and for all.

“Climate change is real and caused by mankind” – the climate is always changing, and that’s an undeniable fact. Whether or not humans contribute to this, climate change would occur if we didn’t exist.

The IPCC dictates which paramaters are allowed in its models. The only outside variable allowed is Total Solar Irradiance. This leaves out many many space weather variables, and over 700 peer reviewed papers (and more every week) have demonstrably shown that these variables effect our climate. The IPCC climate models is not in line with the modern scientific output. The upshot of this is that Climate Scientists (a group that excludes many relevant fields of research) have no choice but to attribute the changes they see to CO2, since their models do not contain the relevant climate forcers (high and medium energy particles, IMF, x-rays, the solar wind, ultraviolet radiation and plasma and electromagnetic interactions with the sun). It’s simply a case of garbage in, garbage out.

The “consensus” that is constantly bandied around is entirely untrue, and many scientists involved with the IPCC say that their data have been usurped and interpreted incorrectly.

We have just come out of solar maximum, and are experiencing extremely low seismology, so this warming trend is likely to continue for 20 years or so. That is unless the Beaufort Gyre releases it’s 2000 cubic miles of freshwater before that date, in which case a recooling will occur earlier. It’s almost as if the Earth has a form of homeostasis – and what hubris it is for us to think we are important in any way to this.

The Earth does have man made problems, let’s tell Bill Gates to go and tackle those instead, because I for one do not like the neo-feudal world that he is endorsing.

The hockey-stick does nothing but illustrate an exponential rise.

Unfortunately no. You refer only to the “blade”, the uptick part. The “handle” is the real disinformation, suggesting no real variations in temperature over the last several millennia. Wiping out the Roman Warm Period, the Medieval Warm Period, and the Little Ice Age from the historical record. All on the basis of one set of tree rings, which respond to all sorts of climatic variables besides temperature. Data funded by the public but not ever made public, despite court orders even.

the extra c.7% of water vapour in the atmosphere per one degree Celsius rise in average temperatures

You refer to some warmist computer model, of course. You ignore actual data showing no increase in water-vapor concentration over the past 70 years or so. Absolutely none.

You do need that extra water vapor to make your heat-death theory work, of course. You know that water vapor is by far the greater green-house gas than CO2 and that it absorbs pretty much all the short-wave radiation you need from CO2 to make your theory plausible. You just don’t believe in testing your theory with fact and observation, so you don’t comply with the scientific method. You’re really anti-science.

What’s worse, you conflate climate issues with the very real issues of pollution and ecological destruction. When your climate issue goes belly up, as it is now doing, the repulsion will take down those movements as well. That is the sad part and it will reflect badly on those of you who pushed for CO2 to be classed as a pollutant.

CO2 is not a pollutant. It is the staff of life

A leader is judged by what he does. Biden is doing just what needs to be done: stopping a pandemic and using the government to support its people. Trump tried to bullshit his way out of leadership and allowed millions to die. Do any of you “conservative” fools acknowledge this blatant fact? Biden certainly exhibited dementia during the campaign. But he has been able to speak clearly and succinctly since winning the election. How much of that is a carefully staged TV show, I do not know. His cabinet is a mixed bag of surprisingly diverse members and the same old Corporate lobbyist shit. I take some comfort in that a Native Indian head of the Interior Department, a first, will take better care of our Federal and Indian land than any of her predecessors ever did.

Ronald Reagan had dementia, a condition not so apparent in his first term, but impossible to miss during his second term. Conservatives continue to rave about what a great President he was. A former head of the Actors Guild, who betrayed all who work for a living in the United States. Reagan still managed to provide the US with its finest Secretary of State, George Schultz, and that made all the difference between success and failure.

No matter how bad Biden’s dementia becomes, it is a progressive disease, we are all better off to be rid of the compulsive, erratic, lying con-artist that snuk into the presidency via the electoral college and seized the opportunity to line his own pocket, the pockets of his immediate family and favorite hi-rolling donors. We haven’t seen the last of the orange sloth, I’m sure. May he end up in prison, where he belongs for his lifetime of fraud and tax evasion. Will the Georgia Governor, who won his position through fraud, and is hell bent on rigging the next election, permit the investigation of Trump’s election tampering in Georgia to proceed? I have my doubts. Here’s hoping Stacey Abrams stomps Brian Kemp next go around.

  222. Other than Teds obvious love and loyalty to the Democrat party and his going along with all things pseudoscience, I found the article enlightening and correct on dementia. I too have seen loved ones ravaged by this disease, and believe Joe is only going to get worse. Like Ted said, the only question is how fast the decline will progress.

Just so I am not accused of being a Trumptard or a Qbot, Let me just say I had hope in the Orange Man in the beginning, but it faded very quickly when I saw who he (((surrounded))) himself with. The last straw for me with this clown was the turning over of the country to FEMA: Archived FEMA has assumed control over the United States according to Executive order 12148 On Friday March 15, 2020, President Trump declared a national emergency due to corona virus, since then 50 states have followed suit.
This handed ultimate power to the state governors to do as they pleased, which meant me and everyone else in the state of NM have been left to suffer under the Tyranus Maximus Michelle “Wuhan Lujan” Grisham for the past year. NM has been devastated.

“Operation Warp Speed” showed me Trump was just another hand puppet and was willing to do the bidding of his masters, no matter how illogical or immoral those actions were.

Now that that’s done(sorry about the rant), let’s get down to the business of my reply to Ted. Everyone should be well aware by now that Presidents are selected, not elected. I can’t think of a true grass roots candidate for either party in my lifetime(and yes JFK was “selected”).

The 800 pound gorilla in the room is political candidates are never even subjected to the most basic physical/psychological health exams before they are allowed to hold a political office. How insane is that? I spent my career as a heavy truck mechanic, and in doing so I was subjected to regular physical exams and random drug testing. How is it possible that the person carrying around the nuclear football and holds the fate of the entire world in his hands subjected to neither?

America went through a similar presidential health situation long ago with FDR. EMANUEL M. JOSEPHSON tried to warn us about the consequences of not having our politicians meet at least the most basic of health exams before they are allowed to take office in his 1948 book The Strange Death Of FDR.

It has become a standing practice in this country to protect the interests that control the country by denying the nation and the world at large information on the state of the President’s health. This was done in the case of Grover Cleveland’s cancer of the palate, Wilson’s apoplexy and F.D.R.’s various ailments. That would be of no moment if the President’s power and influence were checked and limited as provided in the Constitution. But those checks have been steadily and progressively eliminated and in many respects the President’s power has become more absolute than that of
most kings. Illnesses which incapacitate the President enable the coup that controls him to work their will on the nation in his name. That is a very strong temptation that may actually endanger the President’s life at times of disagreement with his bosses. In a way the secrecy regarding the ailments of the President illustrates and stresses how much the office has assumed the aura of monarchy.

Certainly the health of Commander in Chief of the Armed Forces, a title in which Roosevelt took great delight and a role which he had insisted on playing, is of more vital significance to the nation than the health of a mere private. But the private is compelled to undergo a rigid physical and mental examination before he is accepted for service; and he must continue to be
revealed fit by subsequent examinations so long as he remains in the service. Psychopathic conditions call for compulsory relief from duty and discharge. The nation can not demand less of so important figure as its Commander in Chief. Nevertheless twice in a quarter of a century, the helm of the nation’s ship of state has been held by paralytics who were mental and physical
wrecks, Wilson and Roosevelt. The safety and security of the nation demands that
never again shall its destiny be controlled by agencies operating through the impotent hands of a prostrated executive. The nation must demand as rigid medical examinations and as fit a physical and mental condition of its chief executive as it demands of the lowest soldier.
There is danger enough in the domination and control of a healthy executive by malign forces. With
a diseased executive it is certain, and fraught with grave peril for the nation. It should never happen
again. The nation should require by law periodic physical examination of the President and honest reports to it of the findings. Disabling mental and physical conditions, by law should disqualify the incumbent and require his replacement.

The deception perpetrated on the public in regard to Roosevelt’s health is characteristic of that which prevailed in all matters during hie Administration.

It’ll all be over, barring a miracle, by 2050

Here’s your problem. Firstly, many of those reading these posts here will not be around to see if your “prediction” comes true, so it’s pretty easy to float your hypothesis here. But what of many other similar predictions, each with its own happening-by date, that have failed to come true? Record numbers of hurricanes, sea levels rising by 2 feet, Glacier Park glaciers gone by 2020, massive famine. Al Gore said in 2006 that we had only 10 years left.

Those whom you choose to demonize might actually be reasonable folks who prefer to believe their lying eyes. Many, many people saw the Inconvenient Truth parable, and began looking at what was happening in their world a lot more carefully.

Climate change appears, to me, to be something we humans need to address, and with some urgency. You could make a case that some level of exaggeration is necessary, in order to get the attention of the masses. But, when the widely publicized hypotheses are repeatedly shown to be flawed, they need to be adjusted according to the observable results. Otherwise, the science is questioned, and for good reason. There’s a loss of credibility that becomes increasingly difficult to overcome. I place the blame squarely on so-called scientists, who refuse to behave as such.

All of the currently proposed solutions that am aware of are grossly insufficient. Population is increasing rapidly, especially in underdeveloped countries, and it takes energy to raise their living standards to the modern.

We need to develop clean, reliable sources of energy as quickly as possible; simultaneously curtailing the conspicuous overconsumption. This will require both technological and societal changes. Maybe those can happen in time, I’ll probably never know. Meanwhile, stop blaming those who dare to question false narratives that masquerade as settled science.

Anthropogenic climate destabilisation is proceeding very rapidly. Not in human terms, although it is accelerating there, too, but in geological terms. And inter-generational terms (I am always confounded by how little regard for their own descendants that the denialists show). At least ten times faster that the PETM 55 million years ago, a period that bears some resemblance to now. There are centuries’ worth of warming from past emissions into the atmosphere which have not yet had their full impact, as well.
Then there is methane, growing ever greater in the atmosphere thanks to melting permafrost, destabilised submarine clathrates and fracking wells. The amount of methane in the clathrates is phenomenal, and even 1% released would cause a cataclysm. Moreover the Arctic sea ice cover is rapidly disappearing in summer, causing an albedo flip from cooling, white, reflective ice, to warming, dark, sea, a massive positive feed-back. Then there are megafires releasing huge amounts of CO2, continued fossil fuel combustion and the effects of ending global dimming.
When particulate emissions fall, as fossil fuel use declines (if that occurs before The End)the dimming effect that they cause with their high albedo, will go too. That will, in and of itself, add another degree or so Celsius to the warming. They just add up, all these factors, and it must be draining to deny them all, but that’s religion for you. The dogma is all.
There certainly have been wild predictions made by shysters like Gore. Still, over 90% of montane glaciers are rapidly retreating, the Arctic sea ice is melting, the Greenland, West Antarctic and Tibetan ice-caps are accelerating their melting, and East Antarctica, the biggest mass of ice, is showing signs of destabilising, too. We know from paleo-climate and geological studies that in the past several degrees Celsius warming have occurred within a few decades, when the forcing of increased greenhouse gas levels in the atmosphere was less marked and slower than now, so making a wager that it will all just go away and not disturb your life is a losing bet. And, in fact, the hypotheses of the likes of the IPCC Reports have proven almost universally too optimistic, and had to be adjusted to the pessimistic side, although the IPCC is plainly dominated by the need to achieve ‘consensus’ with denialist regimes like the Sauds, the USA and Australia. I find your closing paras quite cogent, but cannot equate them with the denialist drivel that precedes them.

As for snowfall, that is caused by extra water vapour in the atmosphere, caused by the warming, and a positive feed-back to more warming, and by the excursions of frigid air from the northern polar vortex, caused by climate destabilisation. over 90% of montane glaciers are rapidly retreating

As they’ve been doing since the end of the Little Ice Age:
    https://www.nps.gov/glba/learn/nature/glacier-bay-s-glacial-history.htm

    Glaciers Advance, Glaciers Retreat

Until 10,000 years ago, continental-scale ice sheets came and went many times for seven million years. During this Great Ice Age these ice sheets would reach as far south as the upper Midwest of the United States. Glacier Bay today is the product of the Little Ice Age, a geologically recent glacial advance in northern regions. The Little Ice Age reached its maximum extent around 1750. Since then, the massive glacier that filled the bay has retreated 65 miles to the heads of its inlets.

Today, 95% of Alaska’s 100,000 glaciers are currently thinning, stagnating, or retreating, and more importantly, the rate of thinning is increasing. Glacier Bay’s glaciers follow this trend. Recent research determined that there is 11% less glacial ice in Glacier Bay than in the 1950s. However, heavy snowfall in the towering Fairweather Mountains means that Glacier Bay remains home to a few stable glaciers, a rarity in today’s world.

    Glacier Bay in 1680

At Glacier Bay you can witness geologic processes and change usually barely noticed in the span of a human life. In 1680, there was no Glacier Bay, only a broad valley with a glacier moving down it. Abundant geologic information and Tlingit cultural memories describe a large valley in the lower Bay, environmentally harsh but habitable. Huna Tlingit villages bordered two named rivers flowing near present-day Rush Point and Bartlett Cove.Huna Tlingit place names speak eloquently of the bay and even reflect the landscape changes that occurred as the glacier advanced and later retreated.

    Glacier Bay 1750

The Little Ice Age came and went quickly by geologic measures. By 1750 the glacier reached its maximum, overwhelming the Tlingit homeland and extending a snout into Icy Strait almost to Lemesurier Island. It was able to hold this position only briefly before succumbing to marine erosion and beginning the dramatic retreat for which Glacier Bay has become world famous. When Captain George Vancouver sailed here 45 years later, the glacier had melted/calved back five miles into Glacier Bay.

    Glacier Bay 1880

When conservationist John Muir traveled here in search of active glaciers in 1879, the glacier he sought had retreated 40 more miles up the bay since Vancouver’s visit. A renowned author, Muir captured the popular imagination about Alaska, attracting tourists (and researchers) to Glacier Bay. Like most people today, they arrived by ship.

    Today

Today you must travel 65 miles up the bay to view tidewater glaciers – a far cry from the glacier’s 1750 maximum. The large glacier that once filled the bay has divided into its smaller tributaries and in all but a few special cases, retreated from salt water. Although spectacular, remember that today’s glaciers are mere remnants of what once was. Will they advance again, or will Glacier Bay someday be all glacier and no bay?

Climate change is real and result of it will be that most of humanity will die out.

You betcha’ Zara, and it is the climate scientist with stratospheric aerosol injection and weather modification(HAARP anyone)which will completely destroy this planet.

    Get some edumaction my man..

West Coast wildfires, wild temperature swings and hurricanes in the Gulf are all part of the consequences of man-made weather modification called Geoengineering. Climate engineering researcher Dane Wigington says, “People need to unite in the fight against climate engineering because it’s killing us all. . . . If we look at this mathematically, climate engineering and all of its ramifications are the greatest threat we collectively face short of nuclear annihilation. The ramifications are beyond grave. There can be no legitimate discussion about the climate, or the the state of the climate from any perspective, without addressing this issue first.”

  253. I agree with this article in its presentation of observable facts. Biden has some very serious mental decline that makes him unfit for the presidency. Nice argument. Where it breaks down is in the second to last paragraph where the writer claims with certainty that global warming is caused by human influence and that masks work to slow the spread of CoV2. Really? You lost me. Global warming is caused by a globally significant solar cycle. It happens to coincide with an increase in CO2 caused by mankind’s activities. It does not mean that this is the cause. Pollution is horrible, but we have not changed our climate to the degree that we are seeing. Masks? Really? Viral particles are incredibly small. No mask that is not professionally fitted and used once in a surgical setting can make any difference whatsoever either in the protection of the wearer or the person in their vicinity, and even these were originally intended to keep the patient’s blood from getting on the face of the surgeon. Masks are theater and nothing more. To say anything else defies credibility. Yes, Biden has some serious mental issues related to decline. The other stuff? Really?

    Are NASA lying?

NASA relies on adjusted temperature data. The adjustments all reduce the very hot temperatures experienced in the world in the 1930s, for example, while increasing them for the most recent decades. In fact, the adjustments correlate almost perfectly with the rise in atmospheric CO2 concentrations, indicating they were most likely done to accentuate the warming trend. The actual adjustments are done by agencies like the Goddard Institute, which gets NASA technically off the hook for lying themselves:
    https://wattsupwiththat.com/2021/02/03/the-shocking-climate-graph-climateofgavin-doesnt-want-you-to-see/

As for snowfall, that is caused by extra water vapour in the atmosphere, caused by the warming, and a positive feed-back to more warming

In a previous response to you in this thread I pointed out there has been no increase in water-vapor content over the past fifty years or so. You, of course, just ignore such statements and go on pretending your computer models are equivalent to observation.

the excursions of frigid air from the northern polar vortex, caused by climate destabilisation.

Documented for the Little Ice Age as well, when the only climate “destabilization” could have come from natural cycles. The notion of the Polar Vortex was first used in modern times in 1975, when the concern was about global cooling, not warming.

    it is endlessly fascinating

Indeed. Fascinating how you warmists can appropriate the children’s game of DIBS to claim any and every bit of extreme weather for your own cause. Here’s the only rule: Stand on a high hill and shout loud and often.

She did have perhaps a good reason. de Menezes was an electrician who may have been working for London Transport. He was murdered in an execution style killing but two weeks after the 7/7/05 London bombings, which is England’s version of 9/11, with all the same red flags and improbabilities. I ignore such statements because it is possible to find flat refutations, like Wentz et al 2007 and O’Gorman et al, 2012. On further investigation I find that it is now posited that warming will increase the residency time of H2O vapour before precipitation, thus prolonging the hydrological cycle while intensifying it. Fascinating.
Your projection is text-book. It is you denial cultists who assert that EVERY climate record is NOT caused by anthropogenic climate destabilisation, but by ‘natural variability’, ‘climate cycles’ or ‘God’s wrath’ etc. You’re not denying the Polar Vortex now, are you? That a very few climate scientists were concerned over cooling in 1975, when the majority were already worried by warming and instability is a cultist lie so often and completely refuted that I must admire your chutzpah in advancing it, yet again.

You’re right, up to a point about masks, but utterly wrong about anthropogenic climate destabilisation. Yeah, the solar ‘cycle’ by which I assume you mean the sun-spot cycle, is important, but the anthropogenic forcing from increased greenhouse gases far exceeds the effect in changing solar radiance. At least you didn’t start waxing lurid about ‘space weather’ the denialist death-cult’s latest dogma.

Sorry. Now you’re degenerating into disingenuity and bullshit. I accused you of relying on computer models and instead of defending the models, which is impossible, you restate your model-based argument and pretend it’s observation. You even try to slip it past us with that word posited. That means you’re assuming it for the basis of argument, as in a computer model.

Your citations do the same thing. Models. Computer models all over the place. Your second concludes:

Results presented here based on simulations with an idealized GCM over a wide range of climates provide some support for this free-atmospheric radiative constraint.

A GCM is an idealized general circulation model in their paper. Simulated is just another word for modeled.

That a very few climate scientists were concerned over cooling in 1975, when the majority were already worried by warming and instability is a cultist lie so often and completely refuted that I must admire your chutzpah in advancing it, yet again.

Sorry you’re the liar. Put up or shut up.

By the way, just for the record, 1974-1975 was the only year I actually got personally involved in climate science and climate models, in a university setting. It was also the very first time I ever even heard about the global-warming theory.

(Vice) presidential candidate Kamala Harris fully took the mask off and exposed just how far down the Marxist rabbit hole she has gone with a campaign ad in which she explained the difference between equality and equity and why she favors the latter. It serves as a window into her vision for the country. If she and her fellow Democrats are given the power to do so, they’ll turn the country into the United Soviet States of America.

The ad is narrated entirely by Harris and it sets the stage for her Marxist ethic by arguing that equality is not what we should be striving. Rather, equity should be the goal. “So there’s a big difference between equality and equity,” she opines. “Equality suggests, ‘Oh, everyone should get the same amount.’ The problem … [is that] not everybody’s starting out from the same place. So if we’re all getting the same amount, but you started out back there and I started out over here, we could get the same amount, but you’re still going to be that far back behind me.”

Marxism … is a brutal and oppressive system which destroys any semblance of freedom or individuality for the common man.

Deep State is happy with the success of your brainwashing. Here is a good example of “freedom”: the uniformity of “opinion” in current American and European MSM was achieved only twice before: in Stalin’s USSR in 1930s, and in Hitler’s Germany at about the same time. Enjoy.

ain’t nothin’ in this world for free, somebody gonna’ pay, and that somebody is you and me.

Sure, free cheese is only in the mousetrap. People paid for it by the fact that a significant part of what they earned wasn’t paid to them, but taken by the state and then distributed. Some was spent on healthcare, some on education, some on apartment construction, some on kindergartens, etc. Some people were certainly “more equal than others” (e.g., party big shots), but the difference between their wealth and the wealth of an average worker or doctor was 10-fold at most.

Now, let’s compare it to the US: a significant part of what people earn ends being taken away by the likes of Gates, Soros, Bezos, etc. In addition to that robbery, you are paying for healthcare (ridiculously expensive extortion system in the US), higher education of your kids (ridiculously expensive extortion system in the US), housing, etc. Net result: by wealth US citizens differ more than a thousand-fold. The top 1% owns ~40% of assets (e.g., https://equitablegrowth.org/the-distribution-of-wealth-in-the-united-states-and-implications-for-a-net-worth-tax/ and many other websites).

Most of what Soviet state stole from you was spent on things like education, healthcare, and housing for all. None of what oligarchs steal from you and me in the US is spent on things that benefit people.

All you do is bitch about how bad it is while you never spent a minute trying to fix it. Football to watch and beer to drink don’t cha’ know.

Truth be known, we were sold out long ago, when in 1958 President Eisenhower signed an agreement with the Soviet Union to merge the two countries. The sell out continued under fellow Republican Ronald Reagan when he signed the USA-USSR Education Exchange Agreement with Gorbachev.

World Communism has been the plan all along, and it is in the final stages of implementation. The old Soviet Union was never defeated, it was just re-named and given a fresh coat of “ain’t it beautiful paint”, and survives under Putin today. Not my words, but Gorbachev’s.

“In October 1917, we parted with the old world, rejecting it once and for all. We are moving toward a new world, a world of Communism. We shall never turn off that road.”

“Gentlemen, comrades, do not be concerned about all you hear about Glasnost and Perestroika and democracy in the coming years. They are primarily for outward consumption. There will be no significant internal changes in the Soviet Union, other than for cosmetic purposes. Our purpose is to disarm the Americans and let them fall asleep.”

“Those who hope that we shall move away from the socialist path will be greatly disappointed. Every part of our program of perestroika … is fully based on the principle of more socialism and more democracy. … I would like to be clearly understood … we, the Soviet people, are for socialism. … We want more socialism and, therefore, more democracy. … More socialism means more democracy, openness and collectivism in everyday life. … We will proceed toward better socialism rather than away from it. We are saying this honestly, without trying to fool our own people or the world. Any hopes that we will begin to build a different, non-socialist society and go over to the other camp are unrealistic and futile. Those in the West who expect us to give up socialism will be disappointed. … It’s my conviction that the human race has entered a stage where we are all dependent on each other. No other country or nation should be regarded in total separation from another, let alone pitted against another. That’s what our communist vocabulary calls internationalism and it means promoting universal human values.”

“In our discussions here at the forum there was no trace of the futile debate about what is better, capitalism or socialism…We should seek a synthesis of ideas and values that have proven their viability…”

“Further global progress is now possible only through a quest for universal consensus in the movement towards a new world order.”

“I am a Communist, a convinced Communist! For some that may be a fantasy. But to me it is
    my main goal.”

What the hell do you think I’ve been trying to say? Americas so called leaders sold us out to the Marxist as long ago as 1861 under Stinkin’ Lincoln. Marxism is a system designed for and by the capitalist oligarchs. The Republic has been lost, and we all will pay. Your precious socialism was never meant to benefit you.

America’s corporate giant’s are all now “woke”. Equity before equality, and it’s all one big scam.

“Wokeness is a fusion of the critical theory school of neo-Marxism, which is a form of identity politics, and radical activism that has a very particular worldview that separates the world into liberationists versus oppressors or oppressed versus oppressors,” said Lindsay, whose book is set for release Aug. 25.

It marries that, Lindsay said, with postmodern theory, which holds that “all applications of truth are actually applications of politics by other means.”

Multiple consecutive generations of my family have developed dominant Alzheimer’s dementia. It is truly beyond my imagination how this self-apparent issue of dementing illness in the presidential election has not been specifically addressed. Both candidates should be required, immediately, to present brain imaging scans to attest to their mental competency. As a casual observer, my best estimation is that the Democratic presidential candidate would not be able to fulfill his term in office if elected due to AD progression. Treatments are emerging, though it is still unclear to me whether even they would be sufficient.

One suspects that the vice-president likely would be beta amyloid positive, have shrinkage of his hippocampi, and exhibit clear neurodegeneration on neuroimaging scans. I personally feel great compassion for those suffering from this illness, yet I also am highly aware of how destructive giving power to those who are not mentally competent can be.

AD is a progressive neurodegenerative illness: Patients at this time do not get better, they continue to deteriorate into profound disability. People who simply look at current performance and falsely believe that there is not a problem do not realize that there are short-term strategies to boost cognitive ability, though these strategies will not successfully maintain mental ability over even the medium term. The candidates should be required to disclose whether they are currently being prescribed cognitive enhancement therapies. This election cycle has introduced the potential that a candidate who has not been fully vetted by the typical political selection process could be elected; as someone with personal family experience coping with Alzheimer’s I find such a possibility disturbing.

Just out of curiosity, if a conman claims to be the prophet of God, would you conclude that the God he claims to represent is a criminal? Or, when ham-handed, corrupt, and cowardly Ukies claim to be Nazis, would you accuse Nazism of ham-handedness, venality, and cowardice?

‘Wokeism’ is just the latest variant of Divide and Rule. To turn the losers in the neo-liberal capitalist con-game into vengeful Maenads targeting virtually everybody (including one another, a certain development)BUT the real architects of their, and our, plight, is brilliant manipulation work by master manipulators. And I do not mean ‘the Jews’. The worst of the Jews are definitely over-represented in the ranks of the global parasite elite, but there are plenty of others, too, many with foreskins.

‘All models are wrong, but some are useful’. And theories are explanations ‘posited’ by scientists, which are then critiqued until proven wrong, or improved upon. You seem to have no real idea of the scientific process, and as for ‘cooling’ in the ’70s, scores of studies have shown that, even then, the vat majority of real climate scientists were more concerned with inevitable warming if atmospheric greenhouse gas levels continued rising. There was a ront page of Time about cooling, so I suppose that is your level of intellectual activity.
I heard of global warming in high school, and by 74-5, when at university, it was already accepted by everybody, because the denialist omnicidists had not yet been mobilised by fossil fuel interests and Rightwing psychopaths. And, last but not least, all the modeling and positing and theorising has been backed by decades of observation, all of which the psychopathic denialists and the lumpen Dunning-Krugerite imbeciles deny, tendentiously, mendaciously and criminally.

Wow! Such incredibly perceptive analysis. Not. But at least you’ve honed your amazing diagnostic abilities from afar to sniff out my abysmal understanding of science. That post-graduate seminar I took in the History and Philosophy of Science, under a professor who studied personally under the great Karl Popper, would clearly have been better directed taking lessons in global-warming theory from Miss Mulga’s third-grade teacher, who taught her absolutely everything she knows.

We have, however, at least figured out your mode of argumentation: I tell you to put up or shut up with your BS about global cooling not being the prime concern in the 1970s, and you put up by simply repeating your claim, saying “scores of studies” have proven you right.

I guess you learned that in the third-grade schoolyard too: “You’re it”, “No you’re it”, No, you’re it”….
When we get to Comment 6031, I will give up and you will be left alone on the field.

By the way, the only major figure pushing runaway global warming before 1975 was Carl Sagan, who used it in 1974 to trash Velikovsky’s uncanny predictions about Venus. He had first published it in 1960 and sometimes (or not) gave a little credit to an obscure writer of 1940.

Ah, so you do not actually have a point to make, it’s just that any deviation from proper Marxist-Leninist ideology as you conceive it makes your knee spasm reflexively, and you compulsively dish out the slogans? Seems to be the case. Nothing new there. Seen it before many times. Especially from the older Marxists.

But in reality, in the Current Year, identity politics is intertwined with something called Marxism. For example, the two black lesbians who founded Black Lives Matter claim to be solid Marxists. Now, you can No True Marxist and try to apply your 349 point Marxist Purity Test to them. It won’t make any difference. They have the organization, the press coverage, you do not.

It’s not the 20th century any more. Nothing personal, but it’s not.

I added, yesterday, but it was blocked because of going over the comment limit, that your observation that the only major figure pushing global warming before 1975 was Sagan, was either a lie so impudent that I was surprised that even you could make it, or yet another sign of Dunning-Krugerite imbecility.
After all climate science and the greenhouse theory began around the mid 19th century with Fourier, Foote, Tyndall et al, all indicating the warming effect of the greenhouse. By 1896 Arrhenius predicted the future global warming caused by greenhouse gases, and the greater effect at higher latitudes, just as we see today. The coming greenhouse warming caused by ‘carbonic acid gas’ was even noted in a New Zealand newspaper in 1912. Then Guy Callendar published the first research showing the link between increased atmospheric greenhouse gas levels and temperature, a warming that he saw as beneficial to agriculture.
In 1957 Revelle and Suess pointed out that the seas would acidify because of sequestering atmospheric CO2, so they could not be used as virtually limitless sinks. Then Keeling’s readings of CO2 levels in Hawaii commenced in 1958, showing their steady, relentless rise. And to top off this sampling, LBJ actually lectured the Congress on the dangers of greenhouse warming in 1965! So your assertion is, typically, total bull-dust.

I’m afraid to think of Joe Biden’s cognitive decline because he has to last for the next four years. He is bad, but Kamala is much, much worse. I can’t believe she went to the border and just said that it was an institutional problem. Everything comes down to racism, but would they ever correct the racism within the CDC that destroyed a study that could have prevented autism in African American boys. So, I can’t take their “racism” seriously. It’s just a way to divide us. But Joe Biden is funny sometimes–not intentionally but he says goofy things.

  302. @Mulga Mumblebrain

Oh, Thank you so very much for taking the time to reply, to yourself. So very, very thoughtful of you….

Just to put this in context. Here are the two statements you made to me. Making it clear in both cases that we are talking about scientific concern about global warming or cooling in the 1970s and immediately preceding years:

That a very few climate scientists were concerned over cooling in 1975, when the majority were already worried by warming and instability is a cultist lie so often and completely refuted that I must admire your chutzpah in advancing it, yet again

as for ‘cooling’ in the ’70s, scores of studies have shown that, even then, the vat[sic] majority of real climate scientists were more concerned with inevitable warming if atmospheric greenhouse gas levels continued rising.

And here is my response, making it clear that the concern in the 1970s was still the cooling trend from the 1950s ending in about 1975:

the only major figure pushing runaway global warming before 1975 was Carl Sagan, who used it in 1974 to trash Velikovsky’s uncanny predictions about Venus. He had first published it in 1960 and sometimes (or not) gave a little credit to an obscure writer of 1940.

In your current response, you throw out the wholly irrelevant research from the 19th century establishing the role of CO2 as a greenhouse gas. By scientists who were mostly concerned about global cooling and ice ages. Then you toss up a New Zealand newspaper item that must have been read by all of 253 people.

Then you bring up Guy Callendar, whose work in the late 1930s was exactly the “obscure writer of 1940” I was alluding to, but suggesting I was ignoring. First big lie.

Unfortunately for you Callendar’s 1938 paper received “scant attention at the time.” By the time Callendar turned his attention to the question, “the prevailing theory was that water vapor was the primary absorber of infrared radiation in the atmosphere and that CO2 had little effect.” And he was not at all concerned about global warming. Second and third big lies.
    https://www.asme.org/topics-resources/content/the-engineer-who-discovered-global-warming

Next you bring up Roger Revelle, who even in 1982 was not spreading any kind of alarm about global warming. In the November 1982 Scientific American Letters to the Editors, Revelle stated:

“We must conclude that until a warming trend that exceeds the noise level of natural climatic fluctuations becomes clearly evident, there will be considerable uncertainty and a diversity of opinions about the amplitude of the climatic effects of increased atmospheric CO2. If the modelers are correct, such a signal should be detectable within the next 10 or 15 years.”

    https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Roger_Revelle

    Next you bring up Charles Keeling, who was Revelle’s student and acolyte. but of course you don’t claim he was spreading alarm, because you can’t find any statements to that effect. You will have a hard time finding any such statements even today. Keeling was a consummate professional and not into making unfounded statements. His strongest statement even in 1997 was;

it was not clear whether human activities have altered climate or not.

    https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC33714/

Then of course you come to LBJ, another Al Gore in the making, I suppose. Not even a scientist. His whole reference was this, no mention of global warming whatsoever:

“Air pollution is no longer confined to isolated places. This generation has altered the composition of the atmosphere on a global scale through radioactive materials and a steady increase in carbon dioxide from the burning of fossil fuels.”

So lies at the top and all the way down.

Idiocy AND lies-the denialist duality. That it was nearly two hundred years ago that the greenhouse effect was first outlined does not change the fact that in a greenhouse temperatures go UP. They don’t go down, stay stable or go in cycles, unless some other factor, like solar dimming comes into it.
That the NZ paper was little known is staggeringly irrelevant. It shows that your LIE that NO-ONE but Sagan in 1975 was worried about warming is more putrid than ever, even by your standards.
Callendar’s paper might have got ‘scant attention’ in 1938, but it’s not NO attention, is it? And he was right, wasn’t he? Revelle said that the signal would be noticeable in 10-15 years, in 1982, and IT WAS! Even more so now. Revelle died in 1991 so here’s not here to say whether he believes his colleagues, or life-hating denialist psychopaths like you. I can guess the answer.
And your lies concerning Keeling a typically impudent. Keeling wrote in 1998, in reply to denialist psychopaths who lied that global warming was a ‘myth’, that the real myth was that
‘…natural resources and the ability of the earth’s habitable regions to absorb the impacts of human activity are limitless’.
He died in 2005 and as his widow said, he never thought that it could become a political question. Plainly he’d been spared the ordeal of dealing with life-hating, death-seeking, denialist psychopaths. And if LBJ wrote his own speech without scientific input, I would be surprised.

The cheap whores you know as politicians and judges were the needed sell outs to get it all done.

Your mentor’s mentor explains how it has all been accomplished:

    The Father of Cultural Marxism
Known as Obama’s ideological mentor, the late Italian communist Antonio Gramsci was one of the 20th century’s most influential Marxist thinkers. Disillusioned that the communist movement in Italy failed to incite a Bolshevik-style revolution in his capitalist country, Gramsci developed a stratagem to quietly overturn capitalism in western societies from within. That stratagem is known as Cultural Marxism, the process of gradually infusing communist doctrine into a society via its culture. Gramsci’s stratagem is reflected in one of his most pertinent quotes: “Socialism will triumph by first capturing the culture via infiltration of schools, universities, churches and the media.”

Gramsci theorized that what holds a capitalist society together are the pillars of its culture, the structures and institutions of family, religion, education, politics, law, the arts, and the media, as they provide the social cohesion necessary to a functioning society. Undermine the principles that these cultural institutions embody, and a capitalist society can be overthrown from within without firing a shot.

You really do need to get a grip, Miss(?) Mulga. When were talking about scientific concerns about global warming or cooling in the mid 1970s, your examples just don’t cut it:
    A New Zealand newspaper article from 1912 — doesn’t cut it by about 50 years;
    A Callendar paper from 1938 (the one I referred to first, not you) — doesn’t cut it by about 20 years;
    A wishy-washy statement by Roger Revelle in 1982 — doesn’t cut it by seven years;
Another wishy-washy statement by Charles Keeling in 1998 — doesn’t cut it by by a full 23 years.

Still waiting for those “scores of studies” you so clearly referred to. Still waiting to hear about that “vast majority.”

So you accuse me of lying about and libeling Charles Keeling. That’s pretty rich, when I said “Keeling was a consummate professional and not into making unfounded statements.”

consummate: having or showing exceptional knowledge, experience, or skill in a field of endeavor

Some might even conclude you’ve gone off the deep end. Myself, I’m willing to give you the benefit of the doubt and believe that English is but your fourth language. Do tell us you thought consummate had something to do with sex in this context.

I save troll for the worst racists, and climate destabilisation denying omnicidists

That’s pretty rich too, when you spread the tag around like Santa Claus giving out candy canes at a Christmas party.

What really bugs you is that I’m actually a climate-change apostate. Believed the lies for about 30 years before delving into the climate-gate scandal and wondering about the prolonged pauses in the global-warming trend. Bought two hybrid cars in that time and campaigned for the Canadian Green Party in 2011.

What really bugs you is that I do my research and can see through your little scams, raking in billions for you and/or your greedy little friends and employers.

Apostates are always the big threat. Always the first to be executed.
