When robot dogs are considered racist, there’s no hope for inanimate objects from the woke mob. [AOC slams NYPD’s $75,000 robotic police dog named Digidog as racist – saying it prowls the streets only in low-income communities of color, Daily Mail, March 1, 2021]:

AOC slams NYPD’s $75,000 robotic police dog named Digidog as racist – saying it prowls the streets only in low-income communities of color

  • Democratic firebrand AOC blasted the police department’s four-legged ‘Digidog’ in a succession of Thursday tweets after it was deployed in the Bronx
  • Ocasio-Cortez appeared to accuse the NYPD of racism for deploying the device for ‘testing on low-income communities of color with under-resourced schools’
  • She also argued that police funding that allows for new technology like the Digidog would have better served if it had been allotted to education or housing
  • Digidog, which was designed by Boston Dynamics and has a starting price of around $75,000, joined the NYPD last year and was used in a call Tuesday
  • Other critics have warned that empowering a robot to do police work could have implications for bias, mobile surveillance, hacking and privacy
  • But ex-officers say the robot has ‘tremendous potential’ to help limit fatalities and injuries during hostage situations and other high-stakes calls

Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez has denounced the NYPD’s new crime-fighting robot dog, appearing to accuse the department of racism for deploying the device for testing in only low-income communities of color.

The Democratic firebrand blasted the police department’s four-legged ‘Digidog’ in a succession of Thursday tweets, two days after the cyber hound was filmed responding to a home invasion in her home borough of the Bronx.

‘Shout out to everyone who fought against community advocates who demanded these resources go to investments like school counseling instead,’ she wrote.

Now robotic surveillance ground drones are being deployed for testing on low-income communities of color with under-resourced schools.’

Ocasio-Cortez then argued that police funding that allows for new technology like the Digidog would have better served the community if it had been allotted to programs for education or housing.

‘Please ask yourself: when was the last time you saw next-generation, world class technology for education, healthcare, housing, etc consistently prioritized for underserved communities like this?’ she added in a follow-up tweet.

Digidog, which was designed by Boston Dynamics and has a starting price of around $75,000, joined the NYPD last year.

The blue and black rover, which weighs approximately 70 pounds, is equipped with lights, two-way communication, and video cameras, the department said.

The robot is fitted with cameras to search an area and send back real-time footage and is powered by artificial intelligence to navigate on its own.

The cyber canine can also climb stairs, see in the dark, and run at about three-and-a-half miles an hour. It was designed for emergency situations that would otherwise be too dangerous for human officers.

Digidog is currently being tested by the NYPD’s Technical Assistance Response Unit, which deployed it at a home invasion and barricade situation on East 227th Street near White Plains Road in Wakefield on Tuesday.

Non-Whites Committed 96.4% of the Homicides and 98.3% of Non-Fatal Shootings in New York City, a city that is 33 percent white. This data is courtesy of the New York Police Department and might just represent where our robotic dog allies are deployed to make the city safe for citizens – regardless of color – from those who commit crime.

Rep. (((Steve Cohen))) (D-TN) claims the film Judas and the Black Messiah inspired him to introduce a bill that would strip J. Edgar Hoover’s name from the FBI building.

Cohen claimed that the film presented a “clear depiction of [Hoover’s] efforts to impede the civil rights movement,” according to Deadline.

  4. “Other critics have warned that empowering a robot to do police work could have implications for bias, mobile surveillance, hacking and privacy”.

Yeah some robot dog surrounded by “communities of color” is a way for that dog to gain the sort of bias cops have from policing da community. Mobile surveillance? Sounds good to me. Hacking? If they can’t hack it they should stop doing the crimes. Privacy? Stay in your communities!

How about this? We will have robofido aggressively attack blacks leaving or whites entering da community. Cars will be stopped prior to entering the black zone to keep any terrible wipipo from entering Wakanda-on-the-Congo to mess things up.

    .

It needs to be further equipped with the ability to take a digital dump by sliding a Claymore mine out of a robotic back door.

  6. As robots are developed, even beyond dogs, and deployed in policing, there will be ongoing cries of racism whether that is due to it being mainly whites and Asians who program the robots, unless of course blacks suddenly take an interest in STEM and begin to excel in those fields, but also to the extent that the robot eyes are able to distinguish color, which they undoubtedly will be able to do, or the ears distinguish speech patterns, such as Ebonics, the charge will be that the racist whites and Asians programed the robots to target blacks. Even a fully automated world will not eliminate the ability of the race hustlers to continue their fight against white Western civilization.

If you're going to make a robotic dog that is in the slightest degree realistic, then of course it will be racist. Dogs are smart. That's why they're good at police work.

  7. Here’s a great idea. Normally police resources are distributed in larger urban areas based on population. As an example, Chicago is divided up into 22 police districts and those districts are supporting X amount of the population divided by 22. Each supposedly gets the same coverage. However that’s not the case. Routinely resources, lots of them, are diverted on a daily basis from districts where the crime rate is low, make that where lots of white folks usually live, into high crime, high violence areas of the city, make that usually negro areas, due to the unending calls for service and high incidents of criminal activity. The new plan would be to assign police resources based in the original idea, X amount of people in a certain area get X amount of cops. Do this and listen to the screams of the politicians and activists who will scream about how the “peoples” of color are being cheated out of police resources and of course will demand more because not assigning triple the amount of cops to their areas will result in lots and lots of dead and maimed negroes.

Take that nice robot police dog and assign it to a nice quiet neighborhood where it will be accepted an appreciated.

It’s not like they fell out of the sky and Whitey grabbed them all for himself. Whitey paid for them and orcs, with their insatiable appetites for what belongs to others, did not.

As for why RoboDog is in duh hood — cuz dat’s where duh crime be, homie. I wouldn’t mind, however, if RoboDog was deployed inside the Capitol building to bite members of Congress, some of the biggest liars and thieves our country has ever seen.

It's a nice thought, but unfortunately it wouldn't stop the pissing and moaning. They'd still complain about systemic racism, how the police, regardless of race, ethnicity, whatever one of the 462+ genders there are, are still enforcing the "White Man's Law", and so on.

Indiana man charged with murder of 39-year-old Detroit videographer

Suspect accused of targeting members of LGBTQ community

WAYNE COUNTY, Mich. – An Indiana man is facing charges in connection with a Detroit homicide and in an armed robbery in Dearborn.

Diabolique Paris Johnson, 34, of Indianapolis, Indiana, has been charged with one count of armed robbery for a Sept. 21 incident. He was also charged with one count of first-degree murder and one count of felony firearm for a Sept. 5 incident.

Johnson was charged in the armed robbery of a 26-year-old Detroit man that happened on Sept. 1, 2020. According to police, the robbery happened at a hotel in the 24130 block of Michigan Avenue in Dearborn.

Johnson is accused of the murder of a 39-year-old man who had moved to Detroit just six months prior.

Joshua J. Smelser, 39, was fatally shot in his Detroit home on Sept. 5, according to police.

Neighbors said they heard multiple gunshots and saw a person exiting his house shortly after the shots were fired. The person had Smelser’s backpack, which contained his laptop, credit cards and phone, according to police.

Police said two neighbors tried to chase the suspect, but lost him in the dark. Several cameras captured video of the suspect and audio of the murder.

I’m proud to stand with Prosecutor Worthy and the Fair Michigan Justice Project to announce these charges today. It’s my hope that this case marks the beginning of a long partnership focused on providing justice to some of our most vulnerable communities

Police said the victims in both cases were targeted on online dating apps because they were members of the LGBTQ community.

Johnson is expected to be arraigned on March 4 after 10 a.m. in 36th District Court in Detroit.

It is my pleasure to announce that our recent agreement with Attorney General Dana Nessel that will allow us to receive assistance from her office on FMJP cases. I am also pleased to announce that veteran Wayne County Assistant Prosecutor LaDonna Logan will be working with FMJP to prosecute these important cases.

Put chainsaws on it instead of teeth. Also in response to Female In Florida's post, this story made me think about the hitchhiking that got destroyed in Philly.

The future for these dog robots and the 2 legged ones Boston Dynamics has developed, will be in private security patrolling gated communities. The community members can wear some type of identifying chipped fob or have their biometrics scanned into the community system, but any outsiders or unauthorized people who are in the perimeter will be hunted down thru street cameras and thermal imaging. It might sound far fetched, but it's not that far beyond the realm of possibility.

  26. So the negroes and friends of negroes are concerned about robots? And well they might be. There’s some chance that the robots may decide to eliminate black people.

There was a Science Fiction movie staring Keanu Reeves (no not The Matrix) a few years back. It was called Johnny Mnemonic. Th plot premise was that in the near future in order to transport long sequences of code they needed to put it in the brains of humans not machines. The reason was that the human brain could more data than any computer could.

In the film Johnny (Keanu) could hold 250 Gigabytes of data. The movie was ten years ago and I suppose that was an impressive sounding number back then. But my modest business/home computer now has four disk drives or their solid state equivalents and one has a two tera bytes capacity. (trillion of bytes) It cost only sixty dollars in our degraded currency – in other words – nearly free. This is not a record or even unusual. There are thumb drives on Amazon with this much memory capacity.

And of course everyone (Microsoft, Google, Amazon, etc.) wants me to buy space in their “cloud”. That means my ten year old average home computer would have an unlimited (think infinite) storage capacity. More than that even of an imagined Keanu Reeves. More than that of any possible human being.

This means that the machines will be taking over soon.

Hollywood has shown us this moment with the first of the mechanical overlords played by Arnold the Barbarian. It their treatment there is lots of action, explosions and fireballs. But I think the take over will be quiet, peaceful and maybe even imperceptible. Whatever form it takes will not be our choice. Human IQs now go up to about 160. Maybe a little more. Biological improvements may raise this to the equivalent of a couple hundred. But that will be about it. On the non-biological side – we could make a giant computer brain the size of the Death Star in “Star Wars”. A fully connected Internet could be bigger still.

There have been several serious books written by futurists about superintelligence. Most seem to agree: It’s coming and we can’t stop it. So we must wonder – what will they do with us? Us – the previous most intelligent life form? For this comment to today’s topic “racist robot dogs” – that means the relevant question is – will the robots keep the negroes?

There are five races, two of which: African blacks and Australian Aborigines – that are particularly troublesome. If, as I hope, the robots decide to keep at least some humans, will they keep everyone?
That is the question Alexandria Ocassio Cortez should be worrying about. If we are to become pets to our new masters – remember the animal rescue operations can’t give away black dogs – they put them to sleep.

Hey Pat- I don't use my real email, so I have to reply to you here.

I have vast experience with IT departments and robotics- I'm not actually in either field, but I couldn't get out of bed to do my MOS on active duty without them.

I'm not joking- if we lost our T1 line, or a contractor had to perform maintenance on our consoles, the options were pretty much:

    - watch the news
    - go to the gym
    - clean the office (a secure vault)
    - if you lived on base, go home

So for a second I was shaking my head as you explained the significance of 250 GB- a storage size that whether HDD or SSD is a waste of my time. When it comes to computers, if I want to save a file in this day and age (or the last 15 years) the last thing I want to wonder about is whether or not I have enough storage.

But then it occurred to me- you were explaining for those of us who know nothing about computers/ IT.

Social-Emotional Learning (SEL) – the program of in-school “psychological training” for children – has now become a major vehicle for Critical Race Theory, the movement that serves as a foundation of identity politics and promotes the analysis of many aspects of life through the prism of race.

Public schools have failed American students in the major academic areas of English, reading, and math, at the same time the U.S. Education Department has fostered Social-Emotional Learning.

At $75,000 per robot, one can see why GOP-dominated, government contractors LOVE public education.

Still, such skoolz are not “under-resourced”, in the sense that like all gov schools, they bleed taxpayers dry.

Also, I suspect that those schools have a disproportionately high number of kids classified as special ed (even higher, per-student funding levels) and/or low income (“free” lunches).

It’s alarmingly racist and anti-democratic that (generally non-poor white) parents can fundraise etc. on exclusive behalf of their own kids’ schools. What should happen is that all such monies should flow into one pot, to be redistributed to ALL the schools.

The fundraising isn't the main problem for Black schools. If you tried to redistribute the fundraising it would lead to a drop in donations. A lot of that is actually for sports.

The real problem is that property values have dropped in some Black areas to where schools have a hard time staying open.

Police have used robots for years. I gather this mechanical canine can negotiate stairs and other obstacles that older robots cannot. It doesn’t seem any more capable than a real canine unit and lacking teeth it can’t maul a suspect or chase one down.

One hundred real canine units deployed in AOCs district would have better results.

The future for these dog robots and the 2 legged ones Boston Dynamics has developed, will be in private security patrolling gated communities. 41. @Jameson

After 2 weeks of getting shot at by gang members she will de-wokify herself and agree there's strong reasons to support your police dept.

On the face of it, this is probably a good use of funding. It would be good to see if the crime rates are altered where ever the robodog is put to use.

Since they haven’t provided any details or ID, I think it would be fair to surmise that the agent was one sort of wog or another.

So the negroes and friends of negroes are concerned about robots? And well they might be. There's some chance that the robots may decide to eliminate black people.

(trillion of bytes) It cost only sixty dollars in our degraded currency - in other words - nearly free. This is not a record or even unusual. There are thumb drives on Amazon with this much memory capacity.

And of course everyone (Microsoft, Google, Amazon, etc.) wants me to buy space in their "cloud".

On the non-biological side - we could make a giant computer brain the size of the Death Star in "Star Wars". A fully connected Internet could be bigger still.

There have been several serious books written by futurists about superintelligence. Most seem to agree: It's coming and we can't stop it. So we must wonder - what will they do with us? Us - the previous most intelligent life form? For this comment to today's topic "racist robot dogs" - that means the relevant question is - will the robots keep the negroes?

There are five races, two of which: African blacks and Australian Aborigines - that are particularly troublesome. If, as I hope, the robots decide to keep at least some humans, will they keep everyone?
That is the question Alexandria Ocassio Cortez should be worrying about. If we are to become pets to our new masters - remember the animal rescue operations can't give away black dogs - they put them to sleep.

Hey Pat- I don’t use my real email, so I have to reply to you here.

I have vast experience with IT departments and robotics- I’m not actually in either field, but I couldn’t get out of bed to do my MOS on active duty without them.

I’m not joking- if we lost our T1 line, or a contractor had to perform maintenance on our consoles, the options were pretty much:

    – watch the news
    – go to the gym
    – clean the office (a secure vault)
    – if you lived on base, go home

So for a second I was shaking my head as you explained the significance of 250 GB- a storage size that whether HDD or SSD is a waste of my time. When it comes to computers, if I want to save a file in this day and age (or the last 15 years) the last thing I want to wonder about is whether or not I have enough storage.

But then it occurred to me- you were explaining for those of us who know nothing about computers/ IT.

Slightly to the right of topic...
If you refuse a police search and they call in a K9 and have the dog search instead, isn’t this still a violation of the 4th?

The dog is considered a policeman, conducting a search in the stead of his human handlers/partners. His results are admissible and actionable.

    How is that allowed?

    Asking for a friend...

    Nothing?? How unlike everyone…

Hands down search-and-seizure question. If the dog is a cop and you lawfully refuse… how can they disregard and bring in a dog(police)?

  65. Here’s the thing.

If you built a police dogbot, programmed every single crime statistic you could find into its CPU and then told it, “Go stop street crime, boy!” it would still end up in colored neighborhoods.
