The only way to fight perceived injustices against black and brown Americans is to basically make it illegal to punish black and brown for breaking the law.

Distilled down to the core concepts of this policy, championed by Reps. Ayanna Presley and Rashida Tlaib, it’s basically a perpetual get-out-of-jail free card straight from the game of Monopoly and into he hands of every black and brown would-be criminal across America.

Who knows, they might even get $200 without even passing Go… [The BREATHE Act Is the Modern-Day Civil Rights Legislation We Need, Teen Vogue, November 19, 2020]:

Police terror and mass incarceration do not exist in a vacuum. In our country, harm and punishment have invaded every aspect of society, and have done so with surgical racial precision. We see it in the ways we address drug dependency and mental health crises by disproportionately putting Black and Brown people behind bars instead of providing holistic treatment. We see it in inhumane panhandling laws and cash bail that punishes people for being poor. We see it when we suspend Black children from school and give them detention at disproportionate rates. At each step, our government has legitimized punishing Black and Brown people. It is not surprising, then, that the police commit harm and violence against Black and Brown bodies with impunity—and at alarming rates.

We need to radically reimagine our concept of justice and safety. For too long, we have addressed harm with reciprocal harm. Our elected and appointed officials catered to our worst retributive instincts, resulting in mandatory minimums, sentencing enhancements, and over-policing. What did it get us? An unaddressed drug dependency and mental health crisis, jails overflowing with Black and Brown people, and too many lost loved ones to count.

What we need now is a focus on health and healing. While some pundits and naysayers saw calls to defund the police and invest in Black communities as pipe dreams, our movement did what it always does. We listened, we got to work, and we wrote the BREATHE Act. While it has not been introduced into Congress just yet, we do have champions: Reps. Ayanna Pressley and Rashida Tlaib spoke at the press launch for the bill. We want the next Presidential administration to prioritize the passing of this powerful modern day civil rights legislation. We built the roadmap to take us away from harm and towards health and healing—now, we hope they follow it.

The BREATHE Act is a legislative love letter to Black people. When I read it for the first time, it made me emotional to finally see a law that made me and my community feel seen and our needs addressed. That is what we have been missing for too long. Practically speaking, the BREATHE Act is a landmark civil rights bill. It takes bold, progressive steps to build public safety systems that work for all of us, no matter what community we come from.

When we say we need to rethink harm and punishment, that cannot just be personal reflection. Our policymaking needs to follow suit. That is what BREATHE is.

It starts by divesting federal resources from vehicles of harm and punishment like policing and incarceration. That means slashing enormous police budgets. That means decriminalizing drug use and repealing other federal laws that have for too long been used to disproportionately criminalize Black women, children, and families. BREATHE will put us on the road to police and prison abolition, letting our loved ones out of federal prison and immigration detention facilities and building nurturing reentry systems to welcome them home and put them on the path to success and citizenship.

But that is just the start. It is a healing process. Next, BREATHE takes steps to build healthy and thriving communities. We know that communities know best how to keep themselves safe. That’s why BREATHE will provide organizations rooted in their communities with the funds to create public safety systems uniquely tailored to their community’s needs and incentivize states to decarcerate and defund.

Abolishing prisons? Isn’t this just an advocation for making crime legal? For punishing those who dare notice crime and engage in pattern recognition.

Policing and incarceration aren’t a strong enough deterrent, if you consider how much crime takes place in America, particularly the disproportionate nature arising from the black and brown communities. As Robert Heinlein wrote in Starship Troopers, “Punishment must be unusual or else it serves no purpose.”

With the BREATHE Act and those who advocate for its passing, we find the very idea of punishment for criminality being abandoned and in its place a desire to criminalize the castigation of black and brown people in America who commit crime.

Because the crimes they commit all trace back to white privilege/white supremacy/implicit bias/structural inequality/redlining/food deserts/Jim Crow.

Yes, we need to get rid of the useless street cop and have the citizenry carry weapons to take out he trash when accosted by them.
BREATHE will put us on the road to police and prison abolition

Yes, we need to get rid of prisons. There’s no need if the predators are dead. Non violent crime needs to make restitution to the victim, not sit in prison where the citizenry feeds clothes, provides shelter and medical care for dirtbags.

People groups that are arrested in higher numbers than their share of the population would otherwise indicate tend to be arrested because they commit crimes in higher numbers than their share of the population. Since most of their victims are actually from their own people groups, we have to believe the victims, and the victims deserve justice.

  14. Thank you Paul Kersey and Jared Taylor for discussing on your American Renaissance podcast the role the abuse of DXM/Dextromethorphan, commercially sold as the cough syrup Robitussin, and known as the poor man’s PCP or lean, has played in so many BLM hyped police incidents.

The subject of DXM abuse has been brought many times in your comment section and Steve Sailer’s. It is rarely if ever mentioned by the MSM.

It is not like numerous local black politicians and civic leaders have not know about the DXM problem and have spoken out against it. There simply has not been any support at the national level.

Instead, we just had President Trump posing with the rapper Lil Wayne, at one time a vocal advocate for robotripping, DXM abuse. Is Jared Kushner suggest free pharmacy grade DXM for blacks as a sweeter to the Platinum Plan?

Had there been a major campaign against DXM/PCP abuse decades ago, numerous Trayvon’s and Michael Brown’s might still be alive, and nobody would have heard of Rodney King.

We sure as hell would not be discussing the insanity known as the Breathe Act.

  16. The most obvious immediate effect on African Americans will be to make their neighborhoods even more dangerous. In addition, it will intensify the causes of there not being enough businesses.

I don’t think those are unintended consequences.

There are no doubt naive people among those pushing this, of the sort to be beguiled by the cutesy-poo acronym BREATHE.

But the real point is somehow to craft the African American community into a revolutionary force against productive people on behalf of a certain faction of the ruling class.

It may backfire on them. That would be the real unintended consequence.

What scares me are the delusional White leftist loons that fall for this garbage! Not only are they falling for this but they are actually helping this insanity become mainstream! I’d bet though a lot of these Marxist lunatics will not be having any children of their own in the near or far future. That’s I guess some of their reasoning for throwing our country down the Hell-hole? They don’t/won’t have to look out for their kids. And to pissing Hell with ours? As long as their “pets” are coddled and allowed to get away with their murders in the future. After all White People do it too as they always seem to explain! The White Marxist/leftist is our sworn enemy from here on out. We must beat these people and beat them bad (at the polls) of course!

Piss at this rate I’m sure those Marxist pigs in government will just send monthly money to every negro in this country. I mean with their concept of Wakanda it’s no wonder why they need not ever earn an honest American ( soon to be chinese) dollar. Since in their minds and soon to be school books America as founded should of been named Wakanda as it were? Since again in their twisted lazy imagination they built America right? Wrong ! They never had the gumption to do anything if they could. We’ve spent a fortune already in the reparations known as Public WELFARE. So even paying them to lay about and making more poor black children somehow they want crime as the new black entitlement? Piss off the well is going to dry up soon enough. And when it does all Hell will be coming. Then and only then will we be able to send em back in chains as joe “I stole an election and there’s nothing us evil Whites can do about it” biden said in 2012!

  22. End the drug war and victimless crimes is a good way to start. There are far too many “laws”, e.g. in North Carolina it is now a class 2 misdemeanor punishable by a $1000 fine and/or 30-60 days in jail for not wearing a face covering in public.

By ending prohibition much of the violent crime will wither away as it did with the repeal of alcohol prohibition. Sell yourself for money? Rolling dice in an alley? Why should these be the concern of the courts? We need to end the concept of “prescription” drugs as well.

As Lysander Spooner said long ago, “Vices are not crimes.”

But, just remember, the Criminal Justice System isn’t about criminals. It isn’t about Justice. It’s ALL about The System.

PS: This isn’t in any way an endorsement of the BREATHE Act.

Of all of the comments on this site over the years, I cannot recall any that favored domination and exploitation of other races. And yet, false propaganda constantly delivered by the controlled media in neat little packages almost always includes or suggests terms such as: Supremacist. Racist. Privileged. Oppressors
I refuse to be reduced to nothing more than a leftist label; to be dismissed as a toxic and domineering entity to other races by those who seek to destroy us.
We are an unparalleled race, the most creative, inventive and productive people ever.
And the most giving – reflected by the billions around the world who have benefited from our industrious nature.
Our only desire is to live among our own, and above all, to preserve our unique identity. Certainly not to dominate others.
But without the victimization card, there would be no basis on which to blame Whites.
Total separation is the only answer.

No you have it wrong! if any group is arrested or imprisoned in higher numbers than others it can only be because of discrimination, got it?

That is why we should have a male lives matter movement, did you know for example that..

More than 95% of people killed by the police are male.
Males make up the majority of the prison population in every country in the world.
Most laws disproportionately punish male people, this proves those laws are sexist and should be repealed.
Male people are over-represented in crime statistics, this proves that males are subject to sexist profiling, there can be no other explanation else you are a sexist bigot.

Got the idea, you sexist bigots? Male lives matter!

And just don’t get me started on the facts that in wartime male people are drafted and herded off to die by the millions, or even tens of millions.
That male people do most of the dirty and dangerous jobs.
That until recently male people had a higher retirement age, despite significantly lower average lifespans.
That male people can be openly discriminated against in job applications.
That male people make up the majority of homeless.

I could go on but I think you will have gotten the idea by now.

Uh no “Maya Angelou”…you had corrupt lawyers and politicians write the BREATHE Act. If you actually “got to work” we wouldn’t have to spend billions on police, security and prisons to begin with.

Their “defund the police” scheme has kicked into gear here in Chicongo. Our mayor will cut 600-1000 police in the CPD next year (so many are quitting or retiring she just has to wait 12 months and not hire any new recruits in other words). Meanwhile, we are literally driving our squad cars until the wheels fall off. It’s not uncommon to patrol with a SUV that has over 175,000 miles on it and rusts out to the point the axle, rims and brakes deteriorates to nothing. Oh yeah…and we had nearly 4000 people shot here this year. How’s defunding the police working out for the city near you?

Stop all the welfare and treatment programs. Let them die when they are discovered unconscious with needle tracks. Make lethal drugs available over the counter in the hope those inclined to that life style drop dead taking them.

Street cops are useless in their advertised role. The crime statistics show this to be true. Ask yourself how exactly could a street cop protect you if someone wanted to mug you. The street cop is rolling around in his air conditioned car and isn’t next to you when the mugger is.

Get rid of the entire concept of street cops. Keep detectives, investigators, forensics people, etc that actually work to solve a crime already committed. Street cops are the thugs that will knock on your door and demand your guns one day. They are the highwaymen pulling you over for the faux crime of speeding that hurts no one but helps pay their bloated salary and benefits. Street cops are the political class’s insurance police that the citizenry gets to pay for. They are the guards to keep you from knocking some sense in legislators.

Every person should be his / her own street cop. Every person should be armed and without any consent from some bullshit law. The citizenry needs to be in a position to kill off the predators in the society when they show themselves. No prisons needed when the perp is dead.

When an act of aggression is perpetrated on an innocent person or his property, some form of redress needs to be made as a deterrent example for others and the perpetrator to realize that there’s payback, serious payback.

For violent crimes, the perpetrator needs to be recognized as a predator and should be killed on the first offense. When someone plans a mugging, rape, kidnapping, murder, etc and starts to carry out the plan, successfully or not, the society should realize they have an aberrant individual on their hands that can’t be trusted. Reviewing criminal records reveals that violence grows from incident to incident. Had the perp been killed when first discovered, subsequent incidents could have been averted. No prison required.

Gov’t has no right to kill anyone as an institution can’t be a victim. The perpetrator should be declared an outlaw in the original meaning of the term – outside the legal protection of the law. That would allow anyone to do with him whatever they want. Victims or their families should be trusted to determine appropriate punishment, not some 3rd party judge.

For non violent but purposeful damages done to innocent people, the perpetrator should be put to work for the betterment of the society he has despoiled and to pay back at least triple damages to the specifically affected individuals. Examples, car theft, gas station robbery, financial fraud. No prison required. Repeat offenders of this category should be declared outlaws and allow the citizenry to seek a permanent solution.

When such damages are of an order of magnitude to preclude payback, the perp should also be killed. Think Bernie Madoff. He is languishing in prison at public expense. That is adding insult to injury. They should let him go and allow the people he defrauded to take care of him.

For non violent accidental damages, restitution needs to be made to the injured party, not gov’t. That restitution can’t be procured from withing a prison cell. Again, no prison required.

  51. @RoatanBill

Commonwealths, legalistically different compared to States, can be and are aggrieved and injured parties.
There is no “dropping of charges” in Commonwealths; as in, Commonwealth of PA vs. State of NY.

While I agree with your premise of declaring those who operate outside the law as ‘outlaws’ and retracting the protection of said law from them, I’d have to ask how exactly you would identify them when they’re in and amongst the rest of the population.

Unless you also intend to paint them a specific color…

Well, that’s not absolutely true, I had some idea but I thought we would have more of a showing than the ‘honorable mention’ status that’s shown.

I imaging most of the central/South American violence stems from the violent drug business (I refuse to acknowledge it as a ‘culture’) that pervades the region.

I have no answer for the problem but it has to start with a little temperance by the masses, a little more backbone by elected officials and a lot less respect and admiration of the perpetrators by the Hollywood crowd.

Crime is now practically a black entitlement. They are seldom put away for very long until (when and if) they get caught for murder. And even then they get light sentences and early parole. Most black murderers have a long rap sheet already before the murder and should not have been roaming free to murder in the first place.

Thanks for the concern and advice. In 2 more years I retire. Hopefully to Fort Lauderdale or Phoenix. As the Forbes article states, it’s the Chicago Firemen and Laborers that really have to worry. At least our police pension is managed by people that practice conservative fiscal policy. They don’t invest in risky real estate and junk bonds (something the Firemen’s Pension Board gambled on). We also have a 2-tiered pension now so police officers just starting on pay nearly double into the pension then what I pay (and they take out plenty from me every 2 weeks). This has bought us 10-20 more years of pension payouts. I also have a Roth IRA to supplement my retirement and my wife still has her job (unlike so many of our friends).

I’m no fool. Pensions are simply pyramid schemes. If the government puts in their contributions to match their employees that pyramid scheme can last a very very long time. Unfortunately, with Socialist governments like Chicago they use the pensions as another piggy bank. The politicians take money out (or stop contributing) to fund their gibs programs or to reward a certain voting bloc (like the Chicago Teachers who have contributed ZERO from their paychecks into their pension). Black politicians and Democrats are notorious for this. Sooner or later this country’s pyramid schemes are going to collapse (including the big one – Social Security). Hopefully, me and the wife will have passed away by then.

It should be obvious that I’m trying to take power away from the current justice system that fosters repeat criminality by a small segment of the society.

The average person should be his / her own street cop, armed with whatever he /she thinks is appropriate to stop being targets of opportunity for the criminal element. The police can’t possibly protect the citizenry and court cases have affirmed numerous times that the police have no duty to protect the public. The PR spin in the justice system is a flat out lie.

When a person becomes a victim, detectives, forensics people and others trained in determining what happened and who did it are relied upon now to assign guilt. That mechanism is the only one we have. My point is that the victims and victims families should determine punishment instead of the gov’t warehousing criminals to be released again to scare the public into believing the lie that gov’t is there to protect them.

Rapists and murderers are routinely released from prison and then offend again. Their first offense is on their shoulders. Ever repeat offense is also on a completely broken criminal justice system for allowing it to occur.

vigorous policing will do is move crime around to other locations

You are, of course, correct. That’s why the population needs to be their own police, fully armed and even trained in police tactics and procedures to fend for themselves because the official police are useless in that task; they aren’t standing next to you when you’re attacked. Get rid of street cops but keep investigators, forensics and others that can actually do a job to fight crime.

The justice system is a joke. They take years to imprison a well known criminal and then give him a prison term where the public pays for his upkeep. Good behavior and other gimmicks allow for early release and he’s back to his criminal ways. This is insanity enforced by the rule of law.

Gov’t desperately needs criminals to exist. It is the criminal element that gov’t points at to frighten the weak of mind into handing gov’t control over their lives in the false hope that gov’t will make good on their promise. It’s a primary reason for all the useless drug laws. Without legal prohibition in the drug trade, the violence and profit would almost disappear along with the salary and retirement benefits of the drug warriors that have failed to even dent the problem for decades.

I used the interstate to drive halfway around Columbia to access them rather than take the direct route through Columbia.

One thing that struck me about the area is that in the 4 years I lived there, not once did any white ever say anything even remotely racist even in private conversation. Maybe it was because I was an outsider. I worked at a remote site in a rural area about a half hour outside Columbia. At the road leading to the work site there was a house that was some kind of social club for negroes. If you entered or left work late at night, you would sometimes see them walking about. I asked some whites at work what kind of place it was and it seemed no one wanted to talk about it or even note that it was some kind of negro hangout.

The latin person comes from an ancient civilization, whereas the simian one lacks an understanding of what civilization really means. True, the criminal gangs of the latin communities are distressing, but they do not make up the core of their society, whereas dishonesty, brutality, disrespect for others and absolutely EVERY negative aspect found amongst the races, forms the very basis of the black race. It was the great humanitarian Albert Schweotzer who said: ¨Never let the negro live amongst you as an equal. Here’s some truths:
    – Malcolm X, Elijah Muhammad, and, of late, Senator Keith Ellison of Minnesota, all have favored racial separation (not segregation).
    – A ‘pipe dream’ still holds possibility.
    – Giving up is a sure thing.

The part about drugs is worth thinking about. I don’t know enough about Portugal to be sure but they decriminalised all drugs and there was no increase in drug use and a lot less health damage.

At least that’s what their statistics said and we’ve all heard about lies, damned lies and statistics. Still, we know that alcohol prohibition in the USA encouraged crime gangs and methanol poisoning is common today in states and countries around the world where the number two drug alcohol is banned. I’ve never heard of any place that has banned the number one drug tobacco, probably because that position is only held because of damage to users, not the people around them.

I’d feel a lot more confident about my own beliefs if I had any idea why male alcohol consumption in Russia has dropped below the German level. I knew a lot of Russians in the 1960s and they had a competitive attitude towards drinking: I’m a better man than you because I can drink you under the table. Everything I’ve read since about Russians indicated that their male recklessness hadn’t decreased at the beginning of this century. Perhaps the average age of Russian males at death around 2000 (58 years by my unreliable memory) was quoted from outdated statistics and the change was more gradual than it seems. [email protected]

People wrongly convicted would likely just be executed …

I agree wrongful convictions are a real problem. They occur now under the system you’re trying to defend. All wrongful convictions are the fault of a scumbag prosecutor and a jury made up of voters, the stupidest people in the nation. That system is the one that needs to be eliminated, not rectified. Prosecutors should get the same penalty they helped engineer for a wrongful conviction.

There are clear open and shut cases where criminals even confess to their crimes and they get a prison term that the public pays for. That’s insanity. Maybe there’s a gray area that needs further study, but the vast bulk of criminal activity is provable beyond doubt, and they should have their lives forfeit by their victims or the general public.

I remember riding the Baltimore Light Rail back in 2016. We picked it up in Linthicum, I think. It had been awhile since I’d ridden it, but in the past I do remember seeing the occasional shattered glass in parking spaces from where cars had gotten broken into. This time, at least, the parking lot looked fairly clean. It was also in the middle of the day, and we were planning on being back before dark.

The trip into Baltimore was fairly uneventful, although at one of the stations, there were police cars close to the tracks. Police officers got on board and searched all the train cars, and hauled somebody off. Just a day in the life, I guess.
