Previously on SBPDL: The Baylor Football Program’s Black Rape Culture, Pushed by White Coaches and Protected by White Administrators

In 2019, the University of Tennessee started 22 black players, the first time in Southeastern Conference (SEC) history a member of the conference had an all-black starting lineup to begin the season.

Thus far, the Volunteers are 1-3. Remember: out of 22 starters (11 on offense and 11 on defense), none are white.

Why mention this? Well… if you’ve read The Opiate of America: College Football in Black and White, you’ll understand. [U. OF TENNESSEE PLAYER Jeremy Banks Arrest Vid: ‘WHERE I’M FROM, WE SHOOT AT COPS’, TMZ.com, October 2, 2019]:

A clearly frustrated Vols’ head coach, Jeremy Pruitt, is heard speaking with the arresting officer about the warrant over phone conversation … saying, “This is the silliest s**t I’ve ever seen in my life.”

When the cop explains the situation again, Pruitt says “I’ve got it. I understand. I’ve worked at four places, and I ain’t ever had no crap like this except for here. Because the people usually say, ‘Hey, something’s not right here.’”

Police have released body cam footage of Tennessee running back Jeremy Banks’ September arrest … where the player is heard saying, “Where I’m from, we shoot at cops.”

The 19-year-old running back was arrested for an outstanding warrant after he was initially pulled over for an illegal U-turn on Sept. 15 (hours after the Volunteers’ win over UT-Chattanooga).

During the arrest, Banks tells officers he plays for the Vols … and asks them several times to have them call head coach Jeremy Pruitt.

Once on the phone, Pruitt says he was aware of the previous traffic ticket, but didn’t know there was a warrant out for Banks’ arrest for failing to appear in court.

When in the back of the police car, Banks starts going OFF on the cops, saying, “I don’t like the police, bro. Hell nah,” and “Y’all police are some p*****s, bro. Real s**t, I don’t f**k with y’all.”

At one point, Banks says the following to a female intern who’s participating in a ride-along — “You don’t wanna be an intern because where I’m from we shoot at cops. I’m from Memphis, Tennessee.”

Banks eventually calms down — even singing and giving compliments to the officer on his way to the detention center.

The running back released a statement on Tuesday, saying, “I want to sincerely apologize to my family, the University of Tennessee and the law enforcement community. I deeply regret my language and attitude in the video.”

“I have great respect for our policemen and women, and I am embarrassed by my actions that night. That’s not who I am. I promise to be a better representative for the University of Tennessee moving forward.”

Pruitt also addressed the incident, saying, “Jeremy’s behavior and comments are unacceptable and portrayed himself and our football program very poorly and he understands that.”

ORDER IT NOW

“We will address the matter internally. I’m determined to do what I can to help Jeremy grow up and become a better man. Our team and staff respect our law enforcement and we will continue to educate our players on how to carry themselves at all times.”

Rocky Top, you’ll always be… a u-ni-ver-si-ty, where thugs are glorified, by you and me!; As long as they help Tennessee/ As long as they help Tenn-e-ssee!

Never forget hundreds of thousands of people across the nation base their identity around University of Tennessee football (as others do Notre Dame, University of Texas, Florida State University, the Ohio State University and so forth)…

  1. He’s not sorry.

He’s worried about the future millions he put in jeopardy.

  2. What a lying sack o sh..
I bet coach wrote the “apology” for him.
    TNB

  3. Judging by his comments in the cruiser versus his written apology, I’m going to go out on a limb and suppose that he did not write the written apology.

    • Replies: @SaneClownPosse
Written by the same person(s) who do his homework.
Why don't they give up the "collegiate" BS and admit that it is national minor league football/basketball.
Even the white players can be assholes who think that they are entitled.
  4. The 19-year-old running back was arrested for an outstanding warrant

Well there’s the cops’ first mistake right there. Didn’t they get the memo? We’re not supposed to be issuing warrants to black people any more, much less following up on them.

Well, they should start reading this very blog:

    https://www.unz.com/sbpdl/social-justice-warriors-push-for-total-warrant-amnesty-because-1-in-7-adults-in-60-black-new-orleans-has-a-warrant-out-for-their-arrest/

Separately, gotta love the lawyer-drafted apology statement. They’re pretty much standard fare nowadays.

  5. Where is my comment?
Yes, you regret what you said. Yes, you are embarrassed. As is everyone associated with you.
And yes, that is who you really are, feeling entitled, being foul-mouthed and wrong.
I hope you are cut from the football team and put on academic probation at the University of Tennessee.

What's that? Being required to attend classes?

Good luck with that! I live in Tennessee and not only is football a religion, but too many of the white folks are brain dead when it comes to race. We have tons of white cuck Christians who believe in paint job theory. The sheer amount of mud sharks here is also nauseating. I have seen absolutely drop dead gorgeous women with ugly blacks. I thank God every day that my parents warned my sister and myself about blacks. They are just incompatible with society.
  6. Just to note: the real scandal here is not that 1) he comes from a ghetto where they hate cops (lots of Blacks live in ghettos where they hate cops), or 2) he would say something like that (after all he’s a ghetto Black) — the real scandal is the way the desire for athletic success and the money that comes with it has corrupted higher education — the real scandal is that he was ever admitted to an institution of higher learning that considers itself a research university, offering advanced degrees in a wide variety of fields.

Since we are discussing the SEC, there is a meme regarding the UGA/GT rivalry. It says something to the effect of in the future we will all wear orange.
The left side has a UGA “G” over a picture of prisoners in orange jump suits, to the right, a Tech yellow jacket over a picture of NASA Astronauts.

It sums up the SEC Football culture quite well. Football first, academics third. None of the schools are actually bad, but sports is such a huge revenue stream that it casts a shadow over the institution itself.

I guess the one positive thing I took away from the ATL was an admiration of Tech.
  7. Hmm, an honest negro for a change regarding the first part. No way that 80 IQ came up with that apology for the second part.
Any white person watching college or pro football needs their head examined.

  8. Rocky Top, you’ll always be… a uni-ver-si-ty, where black thugs are glorified, by you and me!;

He’s not a thug. He is from Memphis, so low-class.

He’s not a thug. As a member of the University of Tennessee football team he part of the ruling elite. Tennessee football controls Knoxville and the rest of the state. Like all elites, he tried to fix his problem through connections and with a phone call. Thugs don’t have anyone to call.

  9. “I don’t like the police, bro. Hell nah,” and “Y’all police are some p*****s, bro. Real s**t, I don’t f**k with y’all.”

The fact that this thug is attending a major university is one more reason to no longer send your (normal white) kids to college. They’d be better served going to a trade skill to learn some real, hands on skills. Besides, America will be in ruins in another decade or two and we will need young people to step up and rebuild from the ashes.

“We will address the matter internally. I’m determined to do what I can to help Jeremy grow up and become a better man….

Um, no you won’t. Your little monkey thug will be back out on the gridiron on Saturday. That’s all you and your stupid “University” care about. And because he’s black he can do whatever he wants.

  11. The team is 1-3? Isn’t the first few weeks when they play the Peoria State Polywogs, SE Oklahoma Baptist Lions, Western Louisiana Lizards, and the Southern New Hampshire University Correspondents? Maybe the coach, being one who’s so good at teaching his players to grow into better men, might want to find another profession?

  12. “I have great respect for our policemen and women, and I am embarrassed by my actions that night. That’s not who I am. I promise to be a better representative for the University of Tennessee moving forward.”

    I don't think it's personal, Jim.

Based on past observation, Mr. Kersey is away from the site for a fair amount of time, thus comments get left in moderation limbo.

A few times I've noticed rewording does make a difference; leaving out certain terms (rhymes with "breath quads") does help.

That said, I would like to see a post from the site author detailing the impact of SBPDL's move to Unz, e.g. if views have increased.

Exact same thing here. Matter of fact I comment a LOT less because of the comments sitting in limbo never to come out. I also see that there are a LOT more trolls here at UNZ than there ever was at SBPDL and oddly they don't seem to have a problem commenting using foul language and insults.

It's almost 100% guaranteed that dindu-thug did not write that "apology."

Here's what I've seen firsthand when I went to university.

We had two thugs on the basketball team (which made the Final 4 twice when they were attending our school). They were good enough that they also ended up going to the NBA, one of whom ended up playing over a decade for the Lakers.

Anyhow, they did the usual acts like so many other "black athletes." They hardly ever attended classes but had other students, whom were assigned to be their "assistants" by the athletic department, to show up to classes for them, take their notes, take their tests, etc. And, whenever they did get into trouble, their "assistants" or somebody from the athletic department would be the one to write up the "official apology" for them. The 2 players in question could barely compose a coherent, complete sentence to even come up with an "official apology." Guaranteed the same thing is going on here.

As I stated earlier, this is one more reason not to send your kids to college. It's just not worth it anymore. F*ck them. Starve them. Don't give them a single dollar.

Clown world's collapse cannot come soon enough.

  20. I seldom root for trial lawyers but in the case of NCAA and NFL football I hope they can put both out of business over the matter of CTE. Its absurd for a state university to be running a program that risks permanent damage to the brain of a player even if the brain of the negro football player is not university material in the first place.

Could UT have a jousting team?

  23. There’s a lot of people here in Knoxville who don’t give a flying F about UT football. In fact, if you hadn’t told me the team was all black, I’d never have known. That’s how little it means to me. On a humorous note, I have a friend who likes to walk into bars full of drunks after UT wins a football game and shout, “How about my Balls!” instead of “How about my Vols.” The drunks, of course, all erupt in loud cheering. So blitzed and stupid they don’t even realize they’re cheering his testicles.

As is, the entire football thing is quite stupid. I once worked for a company out of Florida who operated locally in Knoxville. Our transport vans had Florida tags. We were forbidden to go anywhere near downtown Knoxville if there was a Florida/Tennessee game going on as the potential for the vans to be intentionally damaged was high. This was due to reports of opposing “fans” spitting at, cursing at each other and hurling objects at one another. There were even some fights.

Even more interesting (to me, anyway) was that several years ago I actually met and spoke with a UT player. I don’t know who he was or even remember his name but he told me the team doesn’t give a damn about the fans due to their fickle nature- that the fans only support them when they’re winning and abuse and desert them when they’re losing.

Unfortunately there is too much money involved for the school and the community to do that. A college with a good sports team brings in advertising dollars, licensed apparel, more students taking out student loans to attend the school, higher rents for housing around campus & in town, tourist dollars to attend games, bar & restaurant revenue, and so on, so they will tolerate and hush up these kinds of behaviors from their star attractions.
Now there is talk about paying the players, or allowing players to trade schools like they are free agents. Most of the players are already paid under the table thru alumni, or gifted cars, gift cards, etc. College sports betting alone generates billions of dollars per season, so it's safe to bet college sports programs aren't going to be cracking down on their players any time soon, unless it's something so undeniably blatant, that it can't be swept under the rug.

I was hoping that the the Dept. of Labor would require that college athletes be allowed to unionize. I think it would cripple if not kill college football and basketball. CA governor Gavin Nuisance just signed a law allowing college athletes to be paid for using their image. If they accept payment, the NCAA might impose restrictions on post-season play.

  35. The apology isn’t sincere and is just for public consumption. About 7-8 years ago ESPN ran a story about a black freshman defensive end at Tennessee measuring 6’3″ and 275 pounds punched a bar patron and broke every bone in one side of his face.

A number of years ago Sports Illustrated had pictures from around the preseason college football landscape. One picture showed a black tight end from the University of Alabama and dozens of starry eyed white people surrounding him to get his autograph. I thought that strange and disheartening since Southerners always claim to be the most racially conscious white people in America.

Fans of Ohio State, Notre Dame, Univ. of Nebraska, Univ. of Michigan, Penn State, Oregon, and USC do the same thing. Stop pretending it's only in the South, because the stadiums at each of those are packed to the hilt with whites watching their own recruited semi-literate blacks chase a football. Negro basketball worship by whites is even more repulsive at northern schools because of the larger student following during winter.

  37. So . . . . Coach says “some of these people don’t have anyone at home to teach them.” So what does he do? Sets a bad example for this young man by giving the police a bunch of crap. Both of them should be given the door. No wonder the young man gave the Police a bad time. Very poor example and PR for the University from both of them.

  38. @Sick 'n Tired

    Wow.

Can’t even get my low-end, smarmy/snarky, funny comments through on this site anymore.

I used to defend SBPDL and say “I’ve never been censored here” but I can’t say that as a fact anymore. I’ll post the same tepid remark two; three times in a post and never have it see the light of day.

Posted a simple link to a Monty python skit and funny remark yesterday and it still sits in ‘moderation’.

I don’t know what happened here recently, but something is rotten in Denmark, as they say.

Exact same thing here. Matter of fact I comment a LOT less because of the comments sitting in limbo never to come out. I also see that there are a LOT more trolls here at UNZ than there ever was at SBPDL and oddly they don’t seem to have a problem commenting using foul language and insults.

  43. @Non PC Infidel
There's a lot of people here in Knoxville who don't give a flying F about UT football. In fact, if you hadn't told me the team was all black, I'd never have known. That's how little it means to me. On a humorous note, I have a friend who likes to walk into bars full of drunks after UT wins a football game and shout, "How about my Balls!" instead of "How about my Vols." The drunks, of course, all erupt in loud cheering. So blitzed and stupid they don't even realize they're cheering his testicles.

This was due to reports of opposing "fans" spitting at, cursing at each other and hurling objects at one another. There were even some fights.

Even more interesting (to me, anyway) was that several years ago I actually met and spoke with a UT player. I don't know who he was or even remember his name but he told me the team doesn't give a damn about the fans due to their fickle nature- that the fans only support them when they're winning and abuse and desert them when they're losing.

Scholastic football is a training ground to get people to be loyal to their team, no matter what.
High school team -> College team -> City/State NFL team -> USA MIC.

No surprise that NFL games are an Armed Forces Day every game day.

  44. @eah
Just to note: the real scandal here is not that 1) he comes from a ghetto where they hate cops (lots of Blacks live in ghettos where they hate cops), or 2) he would say something like that (after all he's a ghetto Black) -- the real scandal is the way the desire for athletic success and the money that comes with it has corrupted higher education -- the real scandal is that he was ever admitted to an institution of higher learning that considers itself a research university, offering advanced degrees in a wide variety of fields.

That’s it in a nutshell. No civilized white person “hates blacks”, they just recognize they on average have the intellect of a nine to twelve year old.

At nine, I could do long division and understood the basics of some higher math. I could build a radio and did. I knew Morse code and had a ham radio license at ten. But I was far from an adult. My parents, god bless them, kept me busy and away from adult things as we would call them today.

Still: average blacks dumb as they are , are educable to a sixth to eighth grade level. Many stay mired at third or less. In that, our high paid professional educrats have failed them and us. We need to run the NEA and AFT out on a rail and abolish Schools of Education.

We need either strict racial separation or a system that effectively controls blacks as Jim Crow did a fair job of.

The horsewhip and the hangman’s noose or electric chair are needed for a small but definite number of blacks ( and some whites) but mostly they need firm but kind guidance from their own hierarchy and they got that before integration. In 1960 whites who stayed away from Darktown had little reasonable fear of blacks. You only encountered them in well defined situations. Random negro attacks were like rabid dog or alligator attacks, they happened rarely, the offending beast was dispatched, and it was just one of those things like car crashes, sad but you didn’t worry too much about it.

Some years ago a negro athlete was convicted of a brutal murder. Liberals and social justice c***s raised holy hell and the negro eventually was freed. A short while ago a woman I know who grew up five minutes from the murder scene released her autobiography. Now you won’t find a word about this in there but she told me in passing twenty years ago she and her friends all knew the guy was guilty. I will let her give the details some day if she wants.

This is not unusual. No one wants to be the village cat beller.

I never said it was but am shocked that negro footballer worship is as bad if not a little worse South of the Mason Dixon line than it is anywhere else.

Negro basketball worship by whites is even more repulsive at northern schools because of the larger student following during winter.

Can't be any worse than what you see at Southern schools like Kentucky and Florida where throngs of white people attend games to worship negro roundballers.

And even more stupid whites do not worship their semi-literate Klingons at Depaul, Gonzaga, UConn, Pitt, Univ. of Dayton, Cincinnati, Xavier, UWV, Univ. of VA, Northwestern, Perdue, Kansas, Villanova, Duke, Maryland, Seton Hall, Utah State, Arizona and Colorado? Only 4 of the top 25 are SEC schools in the 2019 Afro jumpball pre-season poll.

It’s almost as if we’re dealing here with someone with the mental age of 12.

Well yes. The article makes it fairly clear that this is an adult nikker. A white mental age of 12 would be about normal for an adult nikker. He is operating at full throttle.

“He is operating at full throttle.”

Yes but he is probably about six foot and weighs about 200 lbs. There are no 12 year olds THAT big.
Grown adults with child minds walking the streets among us.

  63. What’s most interesting is that he apparently wasn’t charged with DUI.

If I was drunk enough I can imagine myself saying some pretty stupid stuff and greatly regretting it the next day. Or possibly not even remembering it.

So apparently he wasn’t drunk and doesn’t have even that excuse.

Or, possibly, he was drunk but not charged because that would make it harder for the team.

Yup. It's just how things are, no one can do anything about it, and there's no use being sorry about it. But big promises were made that didn't come true, and will never come true. Never mind that there are a few bright enough blacks, that's never going to be enough. So they'll be hell to pay one way or another.

  67. Having watched football evolve over the past 50 years, it’s sad to say that it’s decline has become somewhat endemic of our society. Having grown up in the shadow of the Cotton Bowl, where football was once king, we were allowed to skip church on Sunday, only to watch Tom Landry coach God’s team. Don’t get me wrong, there were plenty of shenanigans behind the scenes, particularly around the bars ands strip clubs in Big D, as depicted in North Dallas Forty or Semi-Tough. But on Sunday’s , under the stalwart leadership of coaches like Landry (also Lombardi, Halas, Stram, Shula, Reeves, etc. ), players came together to put on a show that marvelled the old and young alike. There was no show- boating, no dangling locks of hair depicting their individuality flowing under their helmets, and individual celebrations were heavily fined, no matter the hue of the player. There were consequences for bad behavior, as fines suspensions, and benching, were painful consequences, but moreover established boundaries of what is acceptable in the public forum.

And then came the generation of owners / coaches I like to call the coddlers and enablers. Anything goes in order to get the big “W”. You know who I’m talking about. People like Barry Switzer who tolerated the “the Bozz” into oblivion; Jerry Jones, who fired God’s coach via telephone; and Jimmy Johnson, who gave us Neon Deon and Michael Irving. IMO, this was the beginning of the end. And the list goes on and on…

Anyone watch the 50th super bowl? What a contrast. We got to see all these legends before kickoff, like Roger Staubach, aka “Captain America” , and other great men like Fred Biletnikoff, Marcus Allen, Joe Montana, Jim Plunkett, Jerry Rice, Steve Young. Then, we had to tolerate a showboat named Cam Newton, whose act was only eclipsed by Lady Gaga at halftime. What really got me, is how someone was able to put a “C” on Newton’s jersey for all the kids to see. When I was a young lad, we didn’t put “C” on football jerseys. That was for reserved for hockey, which has now become my sport-BTW. By watching a football game back in my day, you could readily identify leadership. So nowadays, in the absence thereof, we have to adorn their jerseys because leadership has become latent. And get this… some teams, even have two “C”s, like UT-Austin because it would be racist to put a “C” on a white boy, when he’s the minority.

But back to superbowl 50…. it did have a good ending eh? , as Rocky-Top legend, Peyton Manning showed the young upstart how the game was meant to be played. How fitting, this game was also the final game of Peyton Manning’s career. That was it for this old man, as well. I retired from watching the game as well. Other than attending some local high school games to support my community, I haven’t been motivated to watch an NFL game since..

Call me the old fogie, outdated, conservative…etc. I don’t really care. But, don’t dare call me racist. Oh no, the problem has nothing to do with hue. It’s about the lack of character and leadership, which comes from the coddlers and enablers, who happen to be of the lighter hue. On the bright side, there are still coaches out there that get it right and have restored my faith in the game to a certain degree. And speaking of that hellhole called Memphis where “they shoot cops”, you can look no further than Bill Courtney and what he was able to do for the Manassas Tigers of Memphis, as depicted in the Academy Award winning film, Undefeated (2011). Generally, I’m fairly stoic, but that film moved me to tears more than once. I’m not going to spoil it for anyone who hasn’t seen it, but it will give you a better idea as to the influences and circumstances that would compel people like Jeremy Banks to behave in the way he did, and the modern day coddlers like Jeremy Pruitt, who are actually the problem. News flash coddlers, your players actually crave boundaries, when you can show them right and wrong, and setting out punishments when they run afoul. And when you fail to act, you are not doing these young men any favors, much less the sport of football.

  70. A story that parallels this athletes-get-tutors thread: My in-person California drivers license renewal. I am seated at my computer in the stringent, sober inner sanctum in which one sits at a computer to take the knowledge test. A sign outside warns that no guests are allowed. The adjacent test taker is being fed answers by his mentor standing next to him. Brazen, unapologetic, loud. So you do not need to be an elite football player to have a mentor — you only need to be a gardener. And by the way, it’s not as if the questions are so difficult… at a railroad crossing, yield to the train.
