For the first time in awhile, it seems like the good guys are trying to win and not virtue signal to the Left. Play by their rules in a game they have rigged, you’ll always lose. [Amid Twitter Layoffs, Elon Musk ‘Brushed Aside’ Concerns Of Diversity And Inclusion, Newsone.com, November 16, 2022]:

More grim details are emerging about Elon Musk’s brutal Twitter takeover.

Havoc ensued shortly after the Tesla CEO acquired the popular social media company earlier this month. Thousands of staff members across Twitter’s global team have since been fired, many without notice. Unfortunately, some staff members are feeling the brunt of Musk’s chaotic acquisition, like Twitter staff in Ghana, who were let go the same day the company opened its headquarters in Accra. As NewsOne previously reported, it’s still unclear as to whether Musk offered severance pay to those impacted in Africa, which is quite odd, given that termination pay was offered to laid-off Twitter employees in India and other team members around the world.

In a scathing report published by the New York Times on Nov. 11, several Twitter executives warned Musk to carefully assess his layoff plan for “diversity and inclusion issues,” so that the cuts would not disproportionately impact workers of color. But the South African businessman and his team “brushed aside the suggestion,” the report noted.

Following the move, laid-off Twitter workers in Ghana said they felt “insulted,” “discriminated against” and “disrespected” by the way they were abruptly let go by the company. Now, some staff members are seeking legal guidance from employment lawyers in Africa to assess whether Musk unlawfully terminated their contracts.

Elon Musk laid off more than half of Twitter’s contract employee team

Sadly, Musk’s massive wave of company-wide layoffs continued this week. On Saturday, Casey Newtown, a tech reporter who writes for Platformer, broke the news that Twitter had “eliminated 4,400 of its 5,500 contract employees.” Newton tweeted that the cuts were expected to have a significant impact on “content moderation and the core infrastructure services that keep the site up and running.”

Axios also confirmed the news, noting how contract employees weren’t given notice about their termination. Many were made aware after they discovered they could not access their company email and other Twitter computing systems.

A few other departments were also hit by massive cuts

Outside of the company’s contract employee team, other departments were also harshly impacted by agonizing cuts. In Redbird, Twitter’s platform and infrastructure organization, Musk shed numerous managers. According to The New York Times, the unit lost about “80 percent of its engineering staff raising concerns about the company’s ability to keep its site up and running.”

One engineering manager reportedly “vomited into a trash can” after they were ordered to let go of hundreds of staff members. Additionally, dozens of product managers were laid off in Twitter’s consumer division with “just over a dozen” surviving the termination wave. Some of the company’s top executives were also laid off like Twitter’s chief executive Parag Agrawal and Ned Segal, who was the chief financial officer.

Without diversity and inclusion, Twitter should have already fallen apart. Right?

Say what you will, but Elon Musk is changing the world. Now just let Jared Taylor back on the platform!

Better first get the witch doctor in to read the jackal entrails and elephant crap to determine the odds of success…

I’m old enough to remember “The Great Sequester” when John Boener was Speaker of the House as an attempt to cut Gov spending by furloughing/eliminating Unnecessary Gov jobs and how the Al Sharpton types got on tv and screamed Racisms! Because the vast majority of these unneeded jobs where held by blacks. And of course, nothing happened nor changed in any significant way.

Intentional of not, Elon is showing the world that DIE is the deadliest Lie, that the White Man doesn’t need non whites to thrive, in business, Gov, culture, nor life

And this is part of “the Why” the (((media))) attacks him for non-stop, gaslighting about how Twitter is a dumpster fire and will magically stop working and how stupid Elon is blah blah blah.

Yet ridicule is not refutation, a concept I pray is the lesson learned when None of what is being said comes true

Nice to see the writer(s) gloss over the fact that these are all CONTRACT workers, which means that they do not actually work for Twitter. They work for another company, who ‘contracts’ them out to Twitter…hence the name.

Many companies do this. It gives them flexibility when adjusting their workforce. Contract workers (they are not actually ’employees’ of Twitter) are not governed by the rules applicable to notice and/or severance because they haven’t been let go from the company that actually employs them. Don’t let them tell you, however, that they don’t know the rules of the game. Everyone who is a contract worker knows going in how it works…might not be happy about it, but know, nonetheless.

Sadly, or maybe pathetically, it is likely that the writer(s) of the piece have no idea as to the distinction between employee and contract worker (hence the made up term ‘contact employee’), and thus the outrage…talk of attorneys and legal action, etc…all going nowhere, btw.

It must suck to lack situational awareness. I would imagine that people in Africa who don’t have a sense of what is coming next often fall prey to the lion at the water hole, or a machete attack when the rival tribe comes marching up the road.

Elon Musk’s mission in life is to colonize Mars. I think all sane people would agree that HR should have no role whatsoever in deciding who gets to board a spaceship. Even an incompetent doctor only gets to kill one person at a time.

Jared Taylor will not be allowed back onto Twitter until he names the jew.

    And that is final.

You are making a great point!
As an engineer, I had a chance to work for Boeing for over 7 years as a contract employee. 787 Dreamliner program. Great work, fantastic pay. I was given a week notice of the contract ending. Absolutely no regrets, as a contract engineer I knew that’s how it would end. These are the rules of the game.
