Honesty.

It’s a virtue.

But when it comes to the gun control debate in America and who/whom commits the bulk of the gun violence in the USA, honesty is the first casualty (hint: the bulk of gun crime in America is committed by blacks).

Well, the black residents of Philadelphia have decided to jump start the racial conversation on gun violence we must assuredly need. [Black men gather in an effort to help reduce city’s gun violence, WHYY.com, November 19, 2019]:

As Solomon Jones stood over the casket of 15-year-old Zyqueire Echevarria, his son’s friend at school who was shot and killed this past October, a very uncomfortable feeling came over hm.

“I’m looking at him and thinking, ‘this could be my son’”, Jones, the WURD radio host said. “It wasn’t. But I thought, how can I look at a child in a casket killed by another child in our community and not do anything.?”

On Monday night, Jones, also an activist convened the first meeting of #ManUpPHL, a group of dozens of Black male organizations committed taking accountability and responsibility of the escalating murder rate in Philadelphia.

“We as Black men in the community are doing the shooting and we are getting shot,” Jones said. “It is up to us – it is our responsibility – to do whatever it is we can to stop this.”

The aim of #ManUpPhil is “to step into the lives of Black men who are statistically most likely to be victims or perpetrators of gun violence” by bringing together groups across Philadelphia that are addressing gun violence separately.”

“We are stronger and can do more when we come together,” said Stanley Crawford.

Crawford’s son, William Crawford, 35, was shot and killed last year in the 1900 block of Harrell Street. In response, Crawford founded the Black Male Community Council (BMCC), an organization of Black men focused on making dangerous sections of the city – hot spots – into safer areas in January of 2019.

“I had choices to make,” said Crawford, 67, adding that no arrest had been made for his son’s murder. I could have gone into the fetal position. I had the ability to seek revenge. But I chose to make sure that another family didn’t have to go through the ripple effect that murder creates.”

His organization was in attendance on Monday night.

Jones put the call out in response to the city’s homicide rate, which continues to trend up. In 2018 there were 353 homicides, marking the most recorded in the city since 2007, when 391 were killed. At this same time last year there had been 297 homicides. As of midnight Monday, the city had recorded 314 homicides, representing a 6 percent increase from 2018.

Over the last month or so, the city has been jolted as the violence has increasingly ensnared young residents of the city.

ORDER IT NOW

In late October, 2-year-old Nikolette Rivera was shot and killed inside of her Kensington home. Earlier last month, 11-month-old Yaseem Munir Jenkins was shot four times, including once in the head, while his father used his as a human shield in a drug deal gone bad in the Hunting Park section of the city. Jenkins is expected to survive, but it is unknown if he will ever walk again.

Arrests have been made in both incidents.

And on November 6, 10-year-old Semaj O’Branty was shot in the back of the head walking home from school in the Frankford section of the city. No arrest has been made.

“None of us as fathers, husbands and men in our communities should be able to stand idly by when two-year-old children are being shot and killed and 10-year old is shot in the head,” Jones said.

Honesty.

It’s a virtue.

In 44 percent black Philadelphia, black leaders have actually admitted blacks are responsible for the gun violence in the city.

Guess what?

The same racial ratio is found in Chicago. And New York City. Atlanta too. Charlotte, Nashville, St. Louis, Indianapolis, New Orleans, Jacksonville, Miami, Pittsburgh, Portland, Seattle, San Francisco, Dallas, Oklahoma City, Kansas City, Houston, and even (yes) Baltimore.

America needs a real conversation about gun violence and the racial reality behind it, and (shockingly) blacks in Philadelphia have kicked started this dialogue!

Kudos to black leaders in Philadelphia in admitting the racial truth about gun violence: you have far more guts and integrity than the NRA, an organization funded by white gun owners across the USA who are targeted by the elite to have their firearms confiscated.

  1. The Black community wouldn’t give a shit if it was white people killing each other, therefore why should I give a shit about the daily carnage that is caused by Blacks killing Blacks in our country?

  2. Over the last month or so, the city has been jolted as the violence has increasingly ensnared young residents of the city.

Love the wording, which brings images of a giant arm tattooed with the word “violence,” gripping a hapless “teen” around the neck and forcing a gun into his hand with the other arm. And a deep voice commands, “Now do violence, damn you!”
Talk seems to be the currency of one failed attempt after the other. They meet, they discuss, they looks at me’s, they nod, they say, “Right on!”(Do they still say that?).
    And nothing changes.
    Why?
    Because nothing changes.

This is all well and good, but will anyone actually follow through on these calls to action? It is refreshing to see these individuals begin to take some responsibility for the actions of their community, but I suspect what they are saying will mostly fall upon deaf ears.

  6. unit472 says:

And what exactly do these guys propose to do about the shootings in their ‘community’? Aborting black male fetuses might be the most effective way to reduce the violence in their city but who is going to support that.

  7. McDonald’s employees blame the company for failing to protect them from customers. No one dare admit the real source of the dilemma. Plexiglass anyone?

‘McDonald’s workers file lawsuit to address workplace violence’

    PUBLISHED THU, NOV 21 2019

Seventeen Chicago McDonald’s workers are suing the company, alleging that the fast-food chain has failed to address violence in the workplace…

The suit argues that McDonald’s, in its capacity as a landlord, has failed to design its stores to minimize violence. For example, as part of its nationwide remodeling project that includes installing self-order kiosks and digital menu boards, many locations now have split counters. The counters’ wide openings and lowered height mean that it is easier for customers to walk behind or jump on top of the counter and confront employees…

Eventually, when the cupboard turns out to be bare, a two-tier medical system will emerge (whether acknowledged or not.) Those who cannot pay will get a bare minimum, which will in all likelihood have much higher rates of death from “medical misadventure” or hospital-acquired sepsis.

Either that, or we’ll all get the crap level of care, courtesy of H1-B doctors sporting 3rd world educations from 3rd world ****holes.

  12. @Feedsackroad

Sounds as though McD’s forgot to consider the realities of a people who will commit assault or worse over a bag of cold french fries.
The unenviable task for businesses is protecting against the inordinate amount of black criminality, while at the same time denying that it exists.

The “color-blind” NRA, like the GOP, has done nothing to counter red flag laws. Are you as tired as I am of these grifters throwing the fight very time?

  15. @Feedsackroad

Design the stores to minimize violence? How interesting! Now the design of stores is responsible for negro behavior! Let’s blame the counters’ wide openings and lowered height. Surely, it couldn’t be the feral behavior of black customers and staff who often engage in knock-down drag-out fights as can be seen in numerous youtube videos. Nah!

The solution, of course, is to seal off the areas with plexiglass but, as we’ve already heard, negroes consider that racist and designed to make them look bad and feel bad.

I’m nearly 63 years old and have never had the urge to engage in a brawl with restaurant staff, invade the kitchen area or even to jump up on top of counters. In negroland, I guess that makes me weird. Even worse, I’ve never had the desire to engage in violent confrontation with other customers for insignificant and ridiculous reasons either. Oh well. It’s a white thang. Negroes wouldn’t understand.

In any case, what will McD’s do about negroes fighting with drive-thru customers and negroes climbing through the drive-thru window to fight with kitchen staff? OR shooting through the drive-thru window? What are they going to do about the kitchen brawls that negroes engage in over stupid crap? I mean, once Sharkeisha is disrespected by Toi’letta, or Sharkeisha done slept wid Toi’letta’s boo, it’s on!

  19. Off-thread but on-topic:  Detroit Free Press article on “desegregation” busing in Boston uses lying (no doubt staged) photograph suggesting that inter-racial violence was multiple Whites attacking blacks (reality is typically MULTIPLES of the reverse).

RTFA and see just how much reality denial is contained therein.

I hope they sue and win. Mcds will have to put in plexiglass at the ghetto stores. Perfect .
    Then the customers complain.
Just like they do now about they hurr curr products.

Expanded metal panels would work as well. They also provide a nice sense of safety for either a ghetto or a snake exhibit .

Notice they used a photo of a well dressed black kid seemingly defending himself. According to the memoirs of Kevin Weeks, one of Whitey Bulger’s enforcers and bodyguards, when they forcibly desegregated Boston schools it was mostly the blacks attacking the whites kids and resorting to violence. The white kids fought back unlike today since they weren’t brainwashed and guilt tripped like high school kids today.

The cameras were always rolling when the white kids fought back to make them look like the aggressors and instigators.

Deseg also eventually destroyed long standing and rooted communities of Irish and other European immigrants that existed for decades and was a source of stability and continuity.

In 1975, I was a ten year old school kid in Boston. Seemingly overnight, my friends were bussed out to hell holes and replaced with savages. Families moved to the distant suburbs so fast that few people were able to say goodbye.
God Damn Arthur Garrity. He didn’t allow it in Wellesley, where his neighbors (let alone his own children) would have to endure the jungle animals. Everything I know about TNB was learned then & learned quickly.

    • Agree: Mr. Rational
  28. Alden says:
    @unit472

Aborting both male and female black fetuses is necessary. Black women aren’t as violent but even more nasty and vicious than black men. Why do you think so many of their kids are in foster homes for dangerous physical abuse?

It’s the White taxpayer who supports black women and their kids, either on welfare, an affirmative action job or in foster homes group homes and youth prisons.
