What does it mean to be a racial minority in America (non-white and non-Asian)? Freedom from Responsibility.

Or, more accurately, black privilege defined. [Illinois to reinstate 55,000 driver’s licenses suspended over unpaid parking tickets, Chicago Tribune, January 17, 2020]:

Illinois will no longer suspend the licenses of drivers who fail to pay parking tickets and other fines beginning July 1 under a measure Gov. J.B. Pritzker signed into law Friday.

The secretary of state’s office also will automatically reinstate the driving privileges of roughly 55,000 people who’ve had their licenses suspended over unpaid fines and fees unrelated to moving violations.

“Right now, tens of thousands of Illinoisans lose their licenses each year for reasons that have nothing to do with their ability to drive,” Pritzker said at a bill-signing event in Chicago’s Homan Square neighborhood.

The suspensions disproportionately affect low-income drivers who need their cars to get to work and earn the money to pay their fines, the governor said.

“If you’re living below or near the poverty line and you’re looking at a choice between your unpaid parking tickets or your kid’s medicine or your family’s next meal, well, that’s no choice at all,” he said.

While his choice wasn’t quite that stark, Rodney Shelton said he nearly lost his job as a Chicago firefighter when his license was suspended in April 2015 over $18,000 unpaid parking tickets. Shelton, who spoke at the bill signing, said he racked up 77 tickets in 90 days on a car he’d parked on a private lot.

He ended up filing for bankruptcy, which helped him retain his license and his job as a firefighter, which pays $99,324 annually, according to city records. He also began driving for Uber to help pay down his debts, he said.

“This is a domino effect; it affects my family at home,” said Shelton, who choked up when talking about the impact of drivers license suspension in neighborhoods like West Garfield Park, where he grew up and works.

“Most people are not fortunate,” he said.

The legislation was sponsored by state Rep. Carol Ammons of Urbana and Sen. Omar Aquino of Chicago, both Democrats, and approved with bipartisan support in the House and Senate.

Both Ammons and Aquino credited an investigation from ProPublica Illinois and WBEZ on the disproportionate impact of license suspensions on drivers in low-income, predominantly black neighborhoods in the city and suburbs.

The change to the state law comes after the City Council voted in September to end the practice of seeking license suspensions over unpaid tickets.

“Suspending someone’s license really suspends their entire life,” Ammons said.

While our elite keep lecturing us about white privilege/systemic racism/implicit bias, elected officials in California, Texas, New York, Virginia and Illinois do everything they can to protect black/brown individuals who have broken the law.

Not only protect them, but in the case of Illinois, giving them proverbial keys to the get out of parking ticket kingdom forever and go out to break the law over and over and over again.

Rev those engines and get ready to enjoy the black privilege!

And for those individuals who actually paid your parking tickets in Illinois, we can only say one thing: that was mighty white of you.

  2. Nearly $100,000 a year with the national average household income overestimated at half that, at $50.000 annually, please explain how this individual in the story qualifies as low income or living below the poverty line? Why was his vehicle abandoned on someone else’s property for three months? Wouldn’t a tow truck have been less expensive than 77 tickets and $18,000?

How can anyone, other than the shameless offender, keep a straight face while discussing this man’s “plight?” Pinocchio’s nose would reach the moon if he tried to justify this.

Well this is just another aspect of the racial caste system they’ve set up. Essentially whites are an embattled Plebian class, fighting the slave class and the Patricians simultaneously. In Ancient Rome slaves were often people who owed debts, drunks, criminals, but also foreign invaders. Even pirates. Sure, many of them weren’t this, but a huge amount of the slave class were not ethnically Italian, and were, moreover, often criminals or barbarians who went into the land of wine and honey to pillage. I’ve wondered to myself, if part of the reason this phenomenon existed was because barbarians of this time hadn’t fully advanced agriculture and we’re still dependent on hunting and things like this for food. Farms in Gaul were reportedly quite small. I imagine the barbarians as a little like the Somalians who entered the Captains boat. “I am the captain now.” I also think that if you raped the farmers daughter, or murdered someone, or lived as a brigand in Medieval Europe, there was no “jail” for you. If and when the local Lord caught you, you’d be lucky to just be hung. I think particularly early European barbarians were hungry oftentimes, and more feral than Europeans today as well, genetically. These invaders, and the “criminal” or “deadbeat” class of Italians made up a huge percentage of the slave class. The Patricians used the slave class to drive down the wages of the Plebians. Caesar fought on behalf of the Plebians, and his Conquest of Gaul can be seen as ending a 300 year ethnic conflict between Italians and raiding barbaric Gallic people. Caesar proposed a law guaranteeing 1/3 of farm (plantation) labor be Plebian not slave labor. The Patricians ultimately fought a civil war with Caesar, which he won. They assassinated him in the end. But the people of Roma loved him.

We should see ourselves as the Plebians, at war with the slave class on one side and the Patricians on the other. It would be nice if we had a Putin to lead us, but that kind of unwavering political representation is not possible A) because of demographics B) because of Legalism and the tyranny of the courts.

Europeans have the most dynamism of any people. And legalism limits this dynamism, strangles it, and prevents the implementation of sophisticated and necessary reform. You will have no great men within the system of neliberalism.

I understand this story as fundamentally one about the racial caste system that we have.

The IL bill is SB 1786; see all the sponsors and co-sponsors (in both houses) here –> link — the vast majority appear to be either Hispanic or black, but there are also some Whites (and Republicans).

More importantly re the genesis and passage of this bill, ProPublica is mentioned — this is a liberal lobbying group that masquerades as an online news and public interest reporting organization — it was founded by Herbert and Marion Sandler, two Jews who were major culprits in originating and marketing dodgy and outright fraudulent mortgages in the run-up to the 2008 financial crisis — even today ProPublica is a very ‘Jewy’ organization –> link

Most Americans have no idea how this kind of legislation originates and becomes law.

Typical. Good ol boy Rodney makes 100K a year as a fireman in Chicago yet cant pay his bills. As a matter of fact, years back, . if you are a city employee with unpaid tickets you were subject to suspension, loss of pay and in some instances termination. Rules for the negro have now changed that. If you’re white you get punished, if negro not. Another issue is the amount of highly paid firefighters and police officers who live in public housing. A recently convicted former police commander took over 300K in social security benefits for his deceased mother while earning around 150K a year, poor blacks folk just struggling to make while being stepped on by the white devil.

As the fat ass governor billionaire Jabba the Pritzger said unpaid tickets dont affect the way people drive. Hey dumbass they got moving violation tickets for a reason, driving like an idiot or parking like one. Another good line is that it affects their ability to drive to work. Ha, that’s a good one. Good question. We don’t know, but I feel comfortable speculating:

A disproportionate amount of Negroes are truly awful at managing finances. I think this is due to both genetic factors (low IQ, limited impulse control) and environmental (“ya gotta sho off yo bling to get respek in da good”). But whatever the causes, Negroes are terrible savers. One doesn’t have to resort to the reliable tropes (the millionaire rapper who ends up bankrupt or the welfare mom driving a brand new Cadillac): it’s just a commonality among Negroes, even one who is a firefighter and thus, presumably more responsible than most of his kindred.

Beyond that, who knows how many kids this guy is paying child support on?

Beyond that, I’ve noticed how utterly careless, nonchalant and indifferent many Negroes are to quite basic, simple tasks. Sure, this could be an example of “I ain’t paying no ticket. Fuck da man!”. But it also might be simple laziness and carelessness. This guy didn’t start out with $18K in unpaid tickets (much of which are likely late fees). Initially, even if he did have the money to pay the first several tickets, he might have just reacted “oh yeah. Uh, I’ll do it tomorrow.” Again, and again…

    All just speculation, of course.

No. It’s not BS. It’s the natural outcome of purposely ignoring a law. It’s a 100% preventable situation. Just follow the law. If you screw up and wind up getting a ticket anyway (something that could happen occasionally when talking about parking), just admit you’re in the wrong, pay the fine, and try not to let it happen again.

Simply ignoring fines and just letting ticket after ticket pile up to an absurd level is evidence of someone who simply doesn’t think the law applies to them for whatever reason. (Its Most common in leftists, Negroes, and the more extreme flavor of libertarians) Folks like that deserve to get a draconian punishment like a revoked licence as a wake up call.

The one thing about all of them is that they all have some other side business as plumbers/carpenters/electricians/baggage handlers/ect, which only adds to their already well paying, guaranteed pension fire fighter salaries. 34. Off topic, but just when I’m starting to feel the slightest bit of compassion, I get jarred back to reality. I had to take my car through the emissions test today. They’re starting to offer the choice of self-service kiosk, for $10, or full service for $14. I’m sure the self service isn’t that hard to figure out, but I didn’t feel like messing with it, so I did the full service. Plus, I’ll admit I don’t like the idea of automation taking over so many jobs.

Well, after dealing with the surly orc in the full service lane, I now say the hell with all of them! He was just rude, condescending, bad attitude in general. Barking orders, no please, thank you, etc. It’s probably just the way he is, and I’m sure he was the same way with every other customer who came in there. But, it was enough to make me decide I’m going to figure out how to use the self-service kiosk, next time!

Although, eventually that orc will be out of a job, and on the government dole, so I’ll still be paying for him through my tax dollars. But, at least I won’t have to deal with him, directly!

Okay, rant over. As for the news article above, on one hand, I do think that $18,000 in tickets over the course of 90 days is downright abusive, if you’re making close to $100K per year, why the hell did you let it get to that?! Also, consider the source. If it’s Chicago, there’s a good chance the lot was black-owned. There’s a good chance that whomever was writing the tickets was black. And, I’d imagine a good deal of Chicago’s government is black. So, if it’s blacks doing it to blacks, how, again, is it racist?

  35. @Trevor

“$99,324 is “low income”? And he can’t afford to manage and pay his parking tickets on it? And he has to moonlight driving for Uber and still files bankruptcy? ”

Back in 2005, I remember a story about a UAW forklift operator named Oscar Gray. I believe his base salary was around $87K, but he worked a lot of overtime so he was actually making over $100K per year. When his overtime got cut, he actually had to file for bankruptcy! I never thought about it at the time, but I wonder if Oscar Gray is of the same race as this poor, beleagured firefighter?

We have an orc “administrative assistant” at work, who’s little more than a glorified secretary. The last I heard, a few years ago, she was making in excess of $90,000 per year. But even worse, she used to get approved for “telework”, which meant essentially goofing off at home. They let her charge 40 hours per week in the office, and usually approved another 30+ for “telework”. Eventually, someone in accounting or some oversight department caught wind of it, and put their foot down. She whined about her income being “cut in half” and played the victim. Also, back during the ~2008 housing crisis, I think she actually declared bankruptcy, and got some kind of loan modification on her house where the interest rate was dropped to around 2.25%. Yet, at the time, she and her husband were making in excess off $200K combined. Oh, and her husband worked for the post office, and towards the end of his career, ended up going the disability route. I forget what, exactly, the “disability” was, but gotta milk the system for all it’s worth, donchaknow? Because ray cizm an’ sheeit.

  36. There are some large corporate franchises running public parking lots, that issue tickets without any legal basis. The local governments outsource management of their lots to these entities. There are no statutes referenced to the tickets they issue, nevertheless the failure to pay them becomes an offense for which there is government sanction. These corporate franchises have ownership linked to organized crime. The rules for these lots are not posted, nor do the supposed offenses exist in bylaws.

Don’t assume too much when dealing with corrupt local government that there is not a lot of shooting fish in the barrel going on. When you can use a driver’s license as hostage to such predatory scams by local thugs, the sky’s the limit.

Having uncovered what was going on, we no longer use the city’s “free” parking lots where the rules are unknown and unposted. When questioned as to the statutory authority for the private company to issue “tickets” on publicly owned lots with no signs other than free parking, after contacting the entire city council, the company generously decided to waive the fines as long as we backed off.

An investigation revealed this corporate entity outsources parking management throughout the country. Our own city is 97% white, BTW.

You are correct about public-sector worker pensions being extravagant.

The “trick” that public-sector workers use is to amass as much overtime in their final 3 to 5 years of public sector employment. As overtime is figured into the final pension figures, this one move bumps up their pension amounts to astronomical levels, even exceeding the pay that they received while working.

It’s not unusual for public-sector retirees to receive $80,000 (or more) per year pensions. That is on the low end of pensions…

Another tack is that police and firefighters can start collecting social security at age 55, unlike the rest of us. Talk about “double-dipping”…

This is a major reason why so many public-sector pension plans are on the brink of insolvency.

Absolutely true, I have a friend who is a cop, put in his 20 years and retired at 42 with a 6 figure pension due to overtime and certifications he had. He took a few months off and now does occasional investigating for insurance companies or security consulting, which also pays a boat load of dough for a few days work per month. One of the fire fighters I know in NYC also was a sand hog in the union which was also a solid 6 figure job with overtime and a pension, so he’s collecting on the FD one now and has another few years to go before collecting his union pension, plus SS and occasional pay for teaching at the fire academy.

He ended up filing for bankruptcy, which helped him retain his license and his job as a firefighter, which pays $99,324 annually, according to city records.

The article doesn’t say how many parking tickets used to result in a driving license suspension. If it was for, say, one or two parking tickets than it does seem like overreach to prevent somebody from driving for a handful of non-moving violations. When someone has reached $18,000 worth of tickets, though, he is obviously a scofflaw. And how else is the state to deal with 55,000 such people than by nuking their licenses? It’s hardly practical to take them all to court.

What does it mean that this Rodney Shelton customer left his car “on a private lot”? A standard commercial parking lot? Did he leave this car that was so important to getting to work as a firefighter on someone’s property and forget about it? After the first ticket or two, did he not get the message? Could he not have paid the first tickets out of his $99,324 salary and made other arrangements?

If disproportionate impact of laws now guide decisions then the red flag gun laws and the new gun dealer licensing law in Illinois should be repealed since they affect whites on a disproportionate basis. Black legislators are just criminals helping black criminals in the general population.

Shoot a thug who assaults you, particularly a black thug, and you are likely to end up in jail.

If you’re white you can really only defend yourself against another white person. If you shoot a black thug in self defense the corrupt prosecutor will likely paint you as a white racist bent on harming blacks. The case of Michael Drejka in Florida who shot his black assailant after being violently shoved to the ground and that poor white couple in Georgia who brandished a firearm when they were surrounded by blacks. In both cases they received twenty years.

Reverse the races and they’d still be walking free.

    Detroit streets are so vibrant.
What the hell are they doing out there.

  52. @pierog

    Nope.

As has been several times in this thread, a suspension is the state dealing with a person who thinks they are above the law.

There are plenty of legitimate examples.
The ones you gave are terrible.
Drejka was looking for trouble. He should’ve moved on after they refused to move their car. You also cant shoot someone just because they shoved you.
Those georgia people were also literally looking for trouble. They stopped at the park of blacks. They got out and so on.
    Terrible examples.
Actually, good examples of what not to do.

…and for all those people who think that the “law” actually applies to you, I can only say one thing: that was mighty slavish of you.

Telling someone they shouldn’t illegally park in handicap parking is probably ill advised but isn’t against the law and doesn’t amount to “looking for trouble”. Not even close. His black assailant could have just told him to F off and got in his ghettomobile and left the area. The sheriff’s dept. said Drejka’s actions were within Florida’s “stand your ground” law. The prosecutors in the case conducted a campaign of character assassination against Drejka before and during the trial to poison the jury.

Those georgia people were also literally looking for trouble.

What I recall is that they drove by a park (where blacks were celebrating a birthday party) with a confederate flag on their truck (allegedly to antagonize the blacks). The blacks then threw objects at the truck and shouted obscenities at the white couple which prompted the white couple to get out of their truck and as things escalated the male brandished a gun which did defuse the situation.

The police arrived and just broke the two sides up and sent them on their way but the SJW DA’s office decided to go after the white couple since they were politically incorrect and needed to be taught a lesson. So for the 1000th time, regardless of how you see both events, if you reverse the races there is a totally different outcome more favorable to the would be black defendants. Or if the blacks were convicted in our role reversal the “systemically racist” justice system would not have handed down twenty year prison sentences.

George Zimmerman still represents a better example of having your life ruined, even after winning in court, for daring to defend yourself against a member of the black master race.

Some do and some don’t. There are, in Chicago, extensive Black middle class areas that aren’t all that different from White middle class areas. It’s true that these areas get less middle class over time. South Shore, once a White middle to upper middle class area, became middle class Black about 1970. Somewhere along the way it became quite troubled. On the other hand, extensive very troubled ghetto areas on the Near South Side were gentrified by middle class Blacks going back to the late ’60s but mainly from 1990 to the present.

Back in the day he would have been subject to some kind of sanctions, including his name on a list in the paper (not effective for this guy of course), and possible eventual dismissal if he didn’t straighten up and fly right.

Don’t be there when the police are.

Treat them like the opposite pole of a magnet. Never occupy the same space.
