Protesters on Saturday toppled two long-standing pioneer statues on the University of Oregon.
The statues have a history tied to the celebration of white conquest, and some students had renewed calls for their removal against a backdrop of international protests against racism and police brutality.
The Register-Guard reports a small group of protesters knocked the statues off their pedestals. One was dragged to the steps of Johnson Hall, the university administration building.
In a statement, the university said the statue’s future should be determined “through an inclusive and deliberative process, not a unilateral act of destruction.”
“These are obviously turbulent times. While we support peaceful protest and vigorous expression of ideas, we do not condone acts of vandalism,” the school said. “Our country, state and campus are coming to terms with historic and pervasive racism that we must address, but it is unfortunate that someone chose to deface and tear down these statues.”
The university also said a campus committee had been asked to look into whether the statues and other monuments should be removed, adding the statues will be placed in storage during the process.
The Pioneer was the first statue on the University of Oregon campus, according to the university website. During the 1919 ceremony in which it was dedicated, the president of the Oregon Historical Society gave a speech lauding the “Anglo-Saxon race,” according to a Hidden History article on the university’s library website.
The Pioneer Mother, erected in 1932, was the other statue removed by protesters. Researcher Brenda Frink told The Register-Guard in 2012 that similar pioneer mother statues celebrated “the expansion of American territory and the expansion of white occupation of that land.”
Frink noted the statue at the UO campus may not have the same intended meaning as other “pioneer mother” statues. The “pioneer mother” was also used by women’s rights activists of the early 20th century to reference equal strength to men, and used by conservatives to show a “preferable alternative to suffragists, flappers and New Women,” Frink said in the interview.
Both of the statues have faced a resurgence in calls for removal in the wake of a national movement addressing racism, white supremacy and police brutality following the police killing of George Floyd last month. The removal of the statues was part of a list of demands from the Black Student Collective on a petition with more than 2,600 signatures, as reported by the Daily Emerald.
ORDER IT NOWAlso on the list was a renaming of Deady Hall, named after Matthew Deady, the racist judge who founded the University of Oregon law school. Deady was a noted proponent of slavery and said only “pure white” men should be allowed to vote, according to a report commissioned by university President Michael Schill in 2016.
Schill has since recommended that the school’s board of trustees remove Deady’s name from the oldest building on UO’s campus.
Other statues commemorating imperialist and racist figures have seen removal in recent weeks across the United States, including multiple statues of Jefferson Davis and Christopher Columbus.

The statue removers justify themselves by questioning the legitimacy of the Confederate Army, saying it should not be honored “because it fought against the (duly created) Union”.
Following their logic is the notion that the Union itself is not legitimate, because it was an insurgent uprising against the British.
Then the British had no legitimate standing in America, because they ‘stole’ the land from the native Indians.
There is no appeasing this crowd.

The 13% figure comes from Census data. It has been fairly consistent since the 1970s, although the percentage of that group that is African immigrants and refugees has increased significantly. American blacks are at a below replacement level birth rate, just like whites are.

The “Racism as the Worst Thing Anyone Can Be” meme is quite recent. Throughout recorded history all the best people were racists. George Washington was a racist, the rioters and looters claim. Well yes. He was a racist. But so was every educated person at the time. Washington was called by George III the “greatest man in the world”. I can’t argue with that. Jesus Christ was also a racist. If you are a believing Christian you should therefore take that as evidence that God approves of racism.
There are several different meanings to the term racism. I think the nub of the issue is in two parts. First you believe that there are races and secondly that their differences are relevant. Until Marxist Sociologists got involved quite recently everyone believed in racial differences in looks and behavior. They did so because it has always been perfectly obvious that people come in several varieties. Even the Romans who were a little vague as to where China exactly was, knew that the Chinese looked different. Everyone believed in race who had ever seen someone of another race. But until the fifteenth century – The Age of Discovery – most Europeans hadn’t seen anyone who wasn’t in the same continental race as themselves. But after Columbus, da Gama, and Gomes. Every educated person in Europe knew of most of the major continental races. Europeans were surprised but they couldn’t deny that there were certainly very different kinds of people over the horizon in every direction.
Starting then at the dawn of the modern age (traditionally marked as 1453) race in the modern sense of the term became known to Europe. Thereafter everyone with any education became a racist. The Chinese knew about Caucasians from the white people Tarkim basin and the Moors knew about the black East Africans. There were a few blacks in Greece, Rome and the Middle East (e.g. the Queen of Sheba) but real knowledge of race can be said to have only begun in the fifteenth century.
The early Age of Discovery explorers had different reactions to the different races. Columbus thought he had found China but soon realized that something was very wrong. The China he was seeking was a fabled land of high civilization. But he found only naked Carib Indians. Later Cortez on the mainland was astounded by the size an scope of Mexico City. It was bigger than any city in Europe at the time. He was very impressed. Giant pyramids, stone multi-storied buildings and advanced agriculture. da Gama expected India to be filled with simple natives whom he could exploit for their spices. But he got a surprise in these other kind of Indians. They were organized and bureaucratic. They were a part of ancient and advanced civilizations. He expected very little of the people of India because on the voyages around Africa leading up his circumnavigation into the Indian Ocean the Portuguese has visited Africa and found blacks. They found no second story buildings, no written language, few clothes and brutal customs. They thought black Africans were non-human. They thought they were some kind of chimpanzee.
Right from the very beginnings of race awareness everyone recognized the races looked different and acted differently. Everyone on earth was a racist – until the American Civil Rights movement in the fifties. Then it became a curse word.

Find out where the books being used came from. I think you will be surprised.

They need a constant increase in GDP. Blacks and browns are net negative. If government spending on social benefits is ever subtracted from GDP, that game will be OVER.

Abraham Lincoln wanted blacks to be freed and relocated back to West Africa. The American Colonization Society only was able to afford to buy a little land from England (Liberia) and to repopulate it with 20,000 free black slaves. The American slaves started plantations, and enslaved the native blacks to work on them. It was not until 1970 that native Africans tossed out the Amero-Liberian ruling class and hacked to death thousands of them, putting the others against wooden posts and shooting them. Those were the lucky ones.
The Bantu (black African) is simply higher in testosterone, and inherently more violent by nature. Generally speaking of course. Sociopathy is simply more common in the Bantu race than the White race, as sociopathy is more common in the white race than the “Asian” races (Han Chinese, Korean, Japanese). Why? Who the hell knows, but that is the way it is.
Hopefully, after many are killed, many cities burned down, the blacks will get their own cities, towns, judicial system, police (if they want it, most don’t), stores (“Black-Mart”), and will finally, eternally, leave the White Race alone. After the blacks were freed after the Civil War, they didn’t attack the white plantation owners. They attacked the poor whites, and raped their widows. That forever set the whites at odds with the blacks. You can’t put a Mostly Uncivilized race with a Mostly Civilized race and expect lasting peace. Let us hope, like Malcomb X wanted, eternal separation will be the result of all this. Not more failed, and failed again, and failed YET again, integration.
They need to realize that we are at war. It was declared on us. Many whites unfortunately still don’t see it for some reason.

I wish we could be separated, but as the notorious Andrew Young has said, blacks will follow white people wherever they go. They seem to realize they can’t begin to create the same kind of prosperous society that whites can, so they always want in, and there will always be whites who insist on letting them in, giving them bennies (welfare, affirmative action, etc.) not available to whites, and we’ll never hear the end of how we owe them and “eva body podda hep!”
Putting them on a different continent would help. A different planet would be even better.
Many not only realize it, they’re also on the other side. Just look at the crowds of whites taking part in BLM and Antifa actions.
At some point in the future whites will be a minority, but when you subtract those with the other side, you realize we’re already, in effect, the minority.
