At this point, why should white people trust the Federal Government? [Food and Drug Administration Guidance Drives Racial Rationing of COVID Drugs: State triage policies cite FDA guidance to justify allocating care based on race, FreeBeacon.com, January 7, 2022]:

In New York, racial minorities are automatically eligible for scarce COVID-19 therapeutics, regardless of age or underlying conditions. In Utah, “Latinx ethnicity” counts for more points than “congestive heart failure” in a patient’s “COVID-19 risk score”—the state’s framework for allocating monoclonal antibodies. And in Minnesota, health officials have devised their own “ethical framework” that prioritizes black 18-year-olds over white 64-year-olds—even though the latter are at much higher risk of severe disease.

These schemes have sparked widespread condemnation of the state governments implementing them. But the idea to use race to determine drug eligibility wasn’t hatched in local health departments; it came directly from the federal Food and Drug Administration.

When the FDA issued its emergency use authorizations for monoclonal antibodies and oral antivirals, it authorized them only for “high risk” patients—and issued guidance on what factors put patients at risk. One of those factors was race.

The FDA “fact sheet” for Sotrovimab, the only monoclonal antibody effective against the Omicron variant, states that “race or ethnicity” can “place individual patients at high risk for progression to severe COVID-19.” The fact sheet for Paxlovid, Pfizer’s new antiviral pill, uses the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention’s definition of “high risk,” which states that “systemic health and social inequities” have put minorities “at increased risk of getting sick and dying from COVID-19.”

The guidance sheets are nonbinding and do not require clinicians to racially allocate the drugs. But states have nonetheless relied on them to justify race-based triage.

“The FDA has acknowledged that in addition to certain underlying health conditions, race and ethnicity ‘may also place individual patients at high risk for progression to severe COVID-19,’” Minnesota’s plan reads. “FDA’s acknowledgment means that race and ethnicity alone, apart from other underlying health conditions, may be considered in determining eligibility for [monoclonal antibodies].”

Utah’s plan contains similar language. In a section on the “Ethical Justification for Using Race/Ethnicity in Patient Selection,” it notes that the FDA “specifically states that race and ethnicity may be considered when identifying patients most likely to benefit from this lifesaving treatment.”

The FDA declined to comment on either state’s plan, saying only that “there are no limitations on the authorizations that would restrict their use in individuals based on race.”

The triage plans are part of a broader push to rectify racial health disparities through race-conscious means. In March of last year, for example, two doctors at Brigham and Women’s Hospital in Boston outlined an “antiracist agenda for medicine” that involved “offering preferential care based on race.” And last year, Vermont and New Hampshire both gave racial minorities priority access to the COVID-19 vaccine, resulting in at least one formal civil rights complaint against New Hampshire.

The trend has alarmed Roger Severino, the former civil rights director at the Department of Health and Human Services, who called racial preferences in medicine a “corrosive and grossly unfair” practice.

“Our civil rights laws are not suspended during a public health emergency,” Severino said. “We should never deny someone life-saving health care because of the color of their skin.”

The triage plans show how federal guidelines can encourage this sort of race discrimination. They also suggest that the FDA is making political judgments, not just scientific ones.

“They’re injecting politics into science,” said a former senior HHS official. “That’s something the Trump administration was pilloried for allegedly doing.”

ORDER IT NOW

One clear sign of that politicization, several legal and medical experts said, is the guidance’s double standard between race and sex. Men in the United States have proven to be about 60 percent more likely than women to die of the disease, according to research from the Brookings Institution, and within some age brackets the mortality gap is even larger.

They want us to die. In less than two year since the China Virus invaded America, we now see how non-whites health are prioritized over white people.

Race doesn’t exist, until it does.

The past two years have taught millions of white people our own government is not only anti-white, but prioritizes non-white lives above white lives. There’s no going back.

  2. Having been privileged to have as in-laws a group of wonderful Mormons, and having a brother who converted to Mormonism nearly 50 years ago, I am familiar with how Mormons think and act. They are usually highly intelligent, hard working and incredibly family oriented. They are also usually VERY conservative in their political views. I found it hard to believe that the state of Utah, having a very large percentage of Mormons as its citizenry, would be ‘woke’ in its medical guidelines and unfairly apportion scarce Covid treatment resources to POC with no rational basis therefor.

Thus, I decided to read the actual bases for the alleged Utah policy described in the subject essay. I suggest anyone concerned in these regards should read the actual bases for the policy, which, it is suggested in this subject essay, is unfair and irrationally discriminates against whites and others in favor of POC. To assist, I have copied the Utah guidelines in that regard and provide it hereby:

“Ethical Justification for Using Race/Ethnicity in Patient Selection: COVID-19 has had a disproportionate impact on low income communities and certain racial/ ethnic minorities in the United States. Equity calls attention to the systematic differences in health outcomes and opportunities to be healthy that adversely affect socially discounted and/or marginalized groups. For COVID-19, these inequities may arise from higher burdens of preexisting comorbid disease, poor health care access, or not having the option for social distancing due to living in densely populated neighborhoods or households. There are also more economically disadvantaged individuals working essential jobs during the pandemic, and many are unable to perform job functions from the safety of their home. This puts them at greater risk of interacting with others who may transmit COVID-19. Utah Data from more than one hundred thousand patients with COVID-19 confirms that even after controlling for age and comorbidities, Utahns who identify from communities of color have a significantly higher risk of severe disease requiring hospitalization. Public health interventions may be used to attempt to mitigate these disparities in COVID-19 by recognizing the structural inequities that underlie them. One way to do this is to include race/ethnicity in the patient selection criteria. The FDA Emergency Use Authorization for monoclonal antibodies specifically states that race and ethnicity may be considered when identifying patients most likely to benefit from this lifesaving treatment.”

Decide for yourself if this is obnoxious, pandering wokeness (which I detest) or rational medical/social policy……..

CDC — Risk for COVID-19 Infection, Hospitalization, and Death By Race/Ethnicity

Per CDC data from Nov 2021, Blacks are 2.6x more likely than Whites to be hospitalized for COVID, and almost twice as likely (1.9x) to die — Native American: 3.3x, 2.2x — Hispanics: 2.5x, 2.1x — only Asians are less likely than Whites to be hospitalized or die from COVID (0.8x, 0.9x).

While I personally have little confidence in government COVID data, they could use national epidemiological data to justify prioritizing all ethnic groups except Asians over Whites for any treatment for severe COVID that’s in short supply — i.e. any such policy/decision could be portrayed as not necessarily political.

I haven’t read any of these protocols, so I don’t know if they do that or not.

Or, since we’re going to be ‘rational’, one could see it as yet more proof (as if it was needed) that ‘diversity is our greatest strength’ is, as far as white people are concerned, one of the biggest lies of the modern era — that seems to be the more appropriate ‘rational’ reaction to me.

All of the groups claimed to be more vulnerable to hospitalization for, and death from, COVID (Native Americans, Hispanics, and Blacks), have socioeconomic profiles significantly worse than Whites: crime, academic achievement, etc — in particular, it’s obvious that, as a group, Blacks are not able at all to positively contribute to a first world, industrial economy.

  6. Another perspective might be that this is a way to artificially divide people in order to keep all of them conquered. Here we see the true enemy, the federal government, put out guidelines that are bound to cause hate and discontent. But the same federal government has prevented the use of treatment plans that include drugs like hydroxychloroquine and ivermectin. These drugs are cheap and plentiful and there is no factual lack of effective treatment. It’s racialized because that helps them rule.

The productive members support everybody else. I’m sure he is not happy about it, like everyone else getting bilked and milked.

I was just talking to an old friend in California last night and I reminded him that WEF-sponsored POS clown governor Newsome just got his wish: universal health care for everybody. Actually, I looked at it as a supremely rational decision when confronted with groups that pose a significant public health threat to others who do not pose such risks for a variety of reasons, many of which you stated in your reply. I just think Utah is doing what it can in a bad situation, and shouldn’t be put in the same class as the other two states referred to in the essay.

There needs to be a good crisis that hits the whole country and lasts about 2 weeks. Collapse of the power grid would probably do it. After the first 3-4 days the looting and violence would really kick off on a grand scale, and without power people would realize emergency response isn’t coming to save them, so they’re on their own. Especially in progressive places like NYC, with their feral pets and gun restrictions. You’d see a lot of attitudes change real quick when it was over, in the survivors at least.

    MM,

I am also a Utah resident(non-LDS) and have some bones to pick:

    1. IMO, they are NOT USUALLY highly intelligent. HIGHLY INTELLIGENT people are not usually members of a religion that many describe as a ‘cult.’ Are SOME highly intelligent?…….sure.

    2. Are they friendly, yes. Also cunning, shunning, and highly apt to be ‘group-thinkers’….no room for skepticism or critical thinking if you are a “member in good standing.”

    3. Utah is undergoing a seismic change in demographics over the last 15-20 years. 50 years ago 97% White….now 79% White. Hispanics and Pacific Islanders make up most of the rest. Blacks still make up under 2% of the population.

    4. Utah and Mormons, although supposedly “very conservative,” many are quite ‘WOKE,’ and again IMO, stealth liberals…….especially the women.

    5. In addition to the COVID issue, Utah .guv has been running constant PSA’s recently on radio targeting…asking…begging, people of African descent(read migrants/refugees/illegals) to apply for government aid/handouts/free money.

    6. Utah government has been very welcoming to illegal immigrants/refugees for years….mostly Hispanics from south of us. In recent years they have actually solicited/asked the feds to send us migrants/refugees from muslim Middle Eastern and African countries.
Go to a grocery store in Salt Lake or South Salt Lake and you will think you are in a foreign country.
Yeah, they all pay with the .guv handout cards/checks………my money.

    7. Utah women are quite WOKE and liberal. They were huge supporters of BLM/ANTIFA protest/riots of last year. Pro-BLM sign are everywhere in SLC although Blacks are only 1,7% of population. You see many White girl/Black guy couples here. Why? Because the women are WOKE.
In recent years it has cost two white University of Utah coeds their lives….Mackenzie Lueck and Lauren McClusky……murdered by black boy friends.

Candace Owens correctly called out the left in their deliberate ignoring of the fact that per capita, blacks are by far the demographic that has refused to get the jabs because of fears of Tuskegee like crimes. I haven’t heard a single person from the left calling out blacks for their refusal to carry the vaccination piss bucket that democrats are demanding. Even with 60 Democrats in the Senate at the time, they still had to cajole, threaten and bribe a number of Democrats to pass Obamacare……

If you already have propane for your stove, get a larger tank and a propane generator. They are quieter, and run cleaner and longer than a gas or diesel one. A buddy of mine just had a larger one installed that will run about 3/4 of his house, AC, and appliances like nothing. He’s got a fairly big house, so the less load heavy appliances you use while the generator is running, the more fuel you’ll save. As long as you’re able to run your fridge, hot water heater, a few outlets, and cook, everything else is a luxury. The only benefit of having a gas generator and large fuel tank for it, is that you can also fuel your cars if you need to leave.

I have some familiarity with the culture, having been raised in a devout Mormon home, though “inactive”, as they say, for many years now. Two of my daughters studied at BYU, and one of them has recently returned to Utah.

You and MM are both correct, but the trend is in your direction. I was dismayed, on a visit to Utah years ago, to see how many of those 1.7% of blacks are adopted by White families. I’d see a typical White Mormon family, with five White kids under age 10 – plus one little picaninny. Jarring.

Having said which, Utah is not all Mormon. I remember the cases you reference. As I recall, one of them, can’t remember which, was an actual whore who met her black murderer in a car in the middle of the night, by appointment, right after returning to town. Note that both girls were University of Utah students. Mormon kids tend to go to Brigham Young University, a private church-owned university. But even there it’s a lot more secularised (i.e. woke) than it was in my kids’ day. I have a South African friend from the old days who teaches there. Very intelligent family, vote Democrat. She looked puzzled and I think had a little conditioned internal reaction to “phobe” a power word (suffix) and asked me what that was and I said “you know, europhobia, the hostility, hatred, demonization, vilification, stigmatization and scapegoating of people of European descent, their history and their culture.” I rattled it off like I was a BLM SJW talking about systemic whatever. We joked a little while longer and then went back to work. A few days later a Black employee from a different department behaved rudely. Afterwards the Filipina came up to me and said “Don’t worry she’s just europhobic.” I turned to her and said “You think!” We both laughed. The point is that while I agree “racist” isn’t for us we have to have our OWN term that IS just for us. And we do, it’s “europhobic”. It works. It changes the dynamic of an encounter. It changes the way you talk about things. I’ve been using it for two years. Everyone I’ve taught it to loves it. It changes the whole paradigm.
My starting premise is “accusations of White Supremacy are Europhobic”. Can you imagine if the concept of europhobia got as much traction as “let’s go Brandon”? I think it would open the floodgates of a lot of pent up frustration and finally the pendulum would at least halt. Normies have these feelings they just need a term to express it.

Actually, that’s what we did when we lived in rural Katikati, New Zealand. We had two such tanks, they weighed a ton when full, and you simply switched the lever when one ran empty, and when the second was getting low, we’d call our propane supplier who’d swap in another pair. Usually a HUGE Maori, always affable, always polite. Again, we loved it.

Today, we live in a lovely retirement community where everyone seems to be very happy, always smiles and waves and is warm and engaging. It’s nice. But there are HOA rules, etc. They suck.

I’m old and my health is failing, I admit, so we live where we do: nice, warm and sunny Southern Arizona. But everything you say is absolutely true, and sometimes I really wish we lived rural again…

    Thanks again another nice reply!

    Cheers,

    MM

Whites must first realize that they’ve been had. It may take a while but it is possible. Then they will do something about it.
