How is it that the young white man who was seeking to de-escalate the situation is dead, while his supposedly foolish, aggressive, white friends walked away in one piece?

You’d think the son of a cop would get this simple fact. We tell our kids flat out “we can’t go there, too many blacks so it’s too dangerous”. They hate blacks because their presence ruins anything fun. We say “it isn’t worth dying over”. They know that if there’s blacks around, we aren’t going, or if they show up, we are leaving. It’s a survival thing.
