When cereal goes 365 Black, you know the concept of Black-Run America (BRA) is no longer a joke.

Black History. Every Month.

Meet the new marketing campaign for Kellogg.

[Kellogg to launch Black History. Every Month. campaign, KAARG Marketplace Committee Chair, KelloggsBlog.com, February 21, 2021]:

February is Black History Month, and we are proud to have launched Kellogg’s Black History. Every Month. A Call for Food Justice in Black Communities campaign. According to the New York City-based food advocacy group, Just Food, “Food justice is the right to grow, sell, and eat healthy food with dignity.” This campaign will create a unique opportunity for Kellogg employees, brands, consumers, and partners to Honor Black food pioneers of our past, Elevate the modern-day heroes fighting for equitable food systems and Commit to supporting sustainable change.

How Kellogg is getting involved

Brands across our portfolio are supporting these efforts including Special K, Morning Star Farms, Kashi and Eggo. This program will honor the often-overlooked contributions of Black food heroes such as Fredrick McKinley-Jones, the inventor of the refrigerated truck, and Edna Lewis, chef, author, champion, and protector of Black Southern cooking.

To elevate the need for food justice in Black communities, which are often disproportionately impacted by food insecurity due to systemic racism, we’ve partnered with World Food Programme USA, in support of the mission of the United Nations World Food Program and Street Art for Mankind. Through their “Zero Hunger” we’ll support the creation of murals in six cities including New Orleans, Houston, Oakland, Detroit, Washington, DC, and Battle Creek, MI, the hometown of Kellogg. The first mural will appear this month in New Orleans. We invite consumers to share images of the murals through their social media channels to raise awareness using the hashtags #blackhistoryeverymonth #bhem and #cultivatefoodjustice. To further support food justice, Kellogg will make a $10,000 donation to a food justice organization in each city.

Kellogg has long been involved in combatting food insecurity in North America – and across the globe — through its Better Days purpose platform, which has donated 2.4 billion servings of food worldwide and works with community organizations fighting for sustainable change.

For more information on the food justice organizations, we are supporting through our Black History Every Month program, check out the first three of our six community partner organizations below:

New Orleans, Louisiana – Sprout NOLA

SPROUT NOLA works towards a better food system by making farming accessible to everyone, building a community around growing food that bridges the gaps in resources for farmers of all kinds.

Many thanks to our employee resource group, KAARG (Kellogg African American Resource Group), for their partnership and efforts in bringing this opportunity to life.

Oakland, California – Acta Non Verba

Founded and led mainly by women of color from the surrounding neighborhood and larger community, ANV creates a safe and creative outdoor space for children, youth, and families in East Oakland, CA while engaging and strengthening young people’s understanding of nutrition, food production, and healthy living

Houston, Texas – Ivy Leaf Farms

Ivy Leaf Farms is dedicated to neighborhood beautification while creating sustainable healthy food efforts for a food desert community.

Kellogg remains committed to addressing food insecurity and racial inequality through its Better Days commitments. As we honor Black History. Every Month. we will be sharing more original artwork and more partnerships.

ORDER IT NOW

Hard to say a people are persecuted by systemic racism, implicit bias, ubiquitous white privilege, and omnipresent bigotry when every Fortune 500 company pays tribute to the cause of Black Lives Matter, with Kellogg going one step further to advance Black History Month from February to encompassing the entire calendar year.

Black-Run America indeed.

Like sugar corn pops and frosted flakes?

  2. Probably every breakfast cereal given space on big store shelves has added sugar.

Many years ago, when I consumed cereals and was on the lookout for sugar-free varieties, I noticed that Killogg’s offered one such product (made purely from dried, bran flakes). Sure, it tasted like shredded cardboard, but that was a small price to pay.

My casual observation, based on its availability on the shelves, was that the product was doing OK; I wasn’t the only health-conscious consumer. Then the company MBAs got a hold of the brand: “Great new taste!” (sugar added).

    Nobody bought it.

A couple of years later, I noticed that the product had reverted to its old form. By then I had moved on.

  3. Kellogg was a famous American Kook. They made a movie- “Welcome to Wellville” a few years ago with big Hollywood stars (Anthony Hopkins, Mathew Broderick, Lara Flynn). It was comedy because Kellogg was so strange. He enforced celibacy on everyone. He gave enema’s too. Electric ones. He was a radical vegan.

Apparently he tried to get Trump to reinstate the Paris Agreements on Global Warming. He called an erection a tombstone. A real nut job. Now year round Black History Month. Seems par for the course.

“Frederick Jones (with Joseph Numero) in 1938? Nope. Did Jones change America’s eating habits by making possible the long-distance shipment of perishable foods? Nope.
Refrigerated ships and railcars had been moving perishables across oceans and continents even before Jones was born. Trucks with mechanically refrigerated cargo spaces appeared on the roads at least as early as the late 1920s. Further development of truck refrigeration was more a process of gradual evolution than radical change.”

Dirty Secrets of the Food Processing Industry

    “BREAKFAST CEREALS
Let’s look at the processing involved in the typical American breakfast of cereal, skim milk and orange juice. Cold breakfast cereals are produced by a process called extrusion. Grains are mixed with water, processed into a slurry and placed in a machine called an extruder. The grains are forced out of a tiny hole at high temperature and pressure, which shapes them into little o’s or flakes or shreds. Individual grains passed through the extruder expand to produce puffed wheat, oats and rice. These products are then subjected to sprays that give a coating of oil and sugar to seal off the cereal from the ravages of milk and to give it crunch.

In his book Fighting the Food Giants, biochemist Paul Stitt describes the extrusion process, which treats the grains with very high heat and pressure, and notes that the processing destroys much of their nutrients. It denatures the fatty acids; it even destroys the synthetic vitamins that are added at the end of the process. The amino acid lysine, a crucial nutrient, is especially damaged by the extrusion process.

Even boxed cereals sold in health food stores are made using the extrusion process.”

    …snip…

“Researchers found that during extrusion, the protein bodies are completely disrupted and the alpha-zeins dispersed. The results suggest that the zeins in cornflakes are not confined to rigid protein bodies but can interact with each other and other components of the system, forming new compounds that are foreign to the human body. The extrusion process breaks down the organelles and disperses the proteins, which then become toxic. When the proteins are disrupted in this way, it can adversely affect the nervous system, as indicated by the cornflake experiment.”

One thing I miss is the joy when you were the first to rip open the cereal box to see what toy or card was in the bag. Cereal going everywhere until finally it was in your grasp. Then the despondency realising that you already had a duplicate.
Maybe they need to go back to the good old days where you might have a card collection of famous people appearing from the box. Scientists, race car drivers, astronauts, rappers or sports stars. Maybe little plastic clip-together cotton field workers, and a fully working miniature cotton gin that you would receive after sending away a handful of coupons.
There could also be a thin record bonded to the back of the box, and when it’s played you would be serenaded by the old songs that were sung on the farms -maybe “Do lord remember me”or “It makes a long time man feel bad.”
Ah, they were the days. Maybe it’s an idea that Kelloggs should return to.

That was when I stopped buying Kellogg’s products as well. However, back then, I did ask several clerks at various stores how the boycott was affecting sales locally. The general answer I got was that customers apparently didn’t care about the boycott and sales weren’t affected- that customers would only care if the product was recalled due to some sort of contamination that could harm them. Of course, I didn’t ask any customers about the boycott but I’m pretty sure most of them would have been as you described- “unaware or as uninformed as most voters who elect politicians.” I base that conclusion on the number of times I’ve tried to talk to people about some current event that’s taking place only to have them respond, “Huh? What are you talking about?” Now, if I’d asked them about the latest trash tv show (such as Dancing with the Stars or the Masked Singer), I’m sure they’d have been squealing in excitement and gushing over the latest episode like a pre-pubescent girl squealing over the latest teen heartthrob.

The article notes that he was passed along to higher level classes despite failing the introductory courses. What they fail to mention is that if they hadn’t passed him along and kept every black (such as himself) back who failed miserably, each 9th grade classroom in such schools would contain 500 negroes. Sending him back to the 9th grade is pointless- all they’re doing is keeping him around until he “ages out” and can no longer attend or until he quits in frustration. The schools generally pass on such dead weight to get rid of them precisely because of the hordes of idiots coming along behind them who think that getting an education is “actin’ white” and thus refuse to learn.

I’ve met many like him who have graduated with high school diploma’s who can barely read and who definitely don’t comprehend what they’re reading in any case. It’s not the school’s fault nor the fault of the teachers. What should happen is each student should be evaluated and, if by a certain age, they’ve proven themselves to be obstinately refusing to learn, they should be declared uneducable and dismissed as a waste of resources. Then, they should be sent off to a retard academy for a 3 month course to learn how to mop floors and do other basic low level skills for low level jobs. Prior to that happening, both they and their families should be warned as to the consequences of failing to learn It would then be their choice as to what happens to them. Their choice- not racism.

Kellog’s treatments are even more shocking. For girls a borax douche is recommended. For boys, tying a board to the child’s back to force him to sleep on his stomach or even putting a wire cage over the male genitalia to prevent touching but still allow urination was recommended.

Btw I think Trump favors Post cereals as his Mar a Lago estate was built by Marjorie Merriweather Post of the cereal family.

  40. I have a bowl of cereal every morning for breakfast except for one alteration – I cut out the cereal. I just have a big glass of whole milk. Almost all the nutritional value of a bowl of cereal in from the milk. The cereal is just over processed grains. These are just starchy carbohydrates and for many cereal brands also a lot of sugar.

Back in the fifties Eisenhower was the President and he was sick. He had a bum ticker. Everyone worried about heart disease. Some bad medical research pointed the finger at fat in the diet as the culprit. This soon caused the supermarket aisles to be filled up with Low Fat and Fat Free foods. This gave us another disease – diabetes. About the worst thing you can do for diabetes is eat lots of refined carbohydrates like Corn Flakes or especially Frosted Corn Flakes.

We basically went on a campaign to fatten ourselves up like we fatten up a goose or a Kobe beef cow. Fat doesn’t make you fat – common mistake. If you want to fatten up a goose so it’s liver swells up and becomes diseased – you stuff corn down its throat. You could use Kellogg’s Corn Flakes too. You make Kobe beef by force feeding the cow, grain and beer. Kellogg’s sells products to make your muscles deeply marbled with fat like an expensive Japanese steak.

Eat some bacon and eggs for breakfast – breakfast cereal is bad for you. Kellogg has killed more people than even Andrew Cuomo.

I thought as we decended deeper into BRA, that I would feel angrier and angrier. Life is not going that way, at least not yet. As long as no one is in my face threatening me because I am not being “less white,” I am seeing the unraveling of this nation as funny.

How can I become serious, much less enraged at an insane society that talks about silliness like “food justice,” and “equitable food systems?” This is not as much a revolution against white people by Europhobes, as an hysterical collapse of white society into some sort of neurotic breakdown. Seriously, do these social justice types ever listen to themselves? Do they really get taken seriously by any other Caucasians? If white people had any collective, common sense they would be mocking and laughing at such ignorant twits, instead of allowing them to become threats to our way of life. They would never allow such idiots into positions of authority, or leadership.

These “patriots” concerned with social justice actually talk of “systemic racism,” which is a made-up term for a made-up condition in the same sentence as “climate change” and “food justice.” Anyone taking this bull seriously must have spent years in Special Ed classes learning to become extremely slow. I’m not feeling micro aggressions emanating from such people as much as gross stupidity. I’m not getting mad as much as I am growing impatient with their ignorance. Its funny to a point, like black people decrying violence at marches, protests, church gatherings, candlelight watches, eating afterwards at the church social, and heading home confident that they took a stance against violence by blaming the least violent in society, Whitey. Meanwhile, their ghettos are still areas looking like high noon in Dodge City while their children get caught in the crosshairs.

Should I join the crowd and be “less white?” How about I start raping white women, carjacking strangers, wearing lots of bling, get a gold grill, and start invading the homes of neighbors, while claiming I dindu nuffins, and I need mo’ gibs on accounta evahbody poda hep? Do any White people have brains left or has fluoride in the water turned everybody into joggers inspecting construction sites?

My country unravels, yet I have to pause to laugh at the fools around us. I can laugh because I know there will always be a White area of America, although in my mind that area is starting to shrink as my emergency food supply grows.

Where I live in Florida, real estate is booming, even though according to liberals, the state is full of crazy drug addicted rednecks, and will be under water due to global warming in the next decade, but they can’t build highrises on the ocean quick enough to accommodate the influx of people moving here. For the ones who can’t afford to pay a $1million+ to live on the beach, they are clearing out farmland and forests inland, and building townhouses and gated communities, more power stations, sewage treatment plants, and paved roads which are also terrible for the climate change/global warming issue they are warning everyone against.

These idiots don’t see the foolishness or hypocrisy of their actions, will still claim all police are racists, streets gone wrong, gun violence, and subconscious racism are the cause of every black failure/dysfunction in this country, instead of poor decision making, and lack of personal responsibility (that applies to every race).

As I said in a previous post, the best answer to give is “I don’t care, that doesn’t matter to me” and go on about your day. Also throw in a “What are you doing about it, since you obviously care so much?” If they claim they donated to BLM or some other scam charity, tell them most non-profits only donate around 10-15% of what they take in, the rest lines the pockets of the shysters and hustlers who run them, tax free.

But, damn if this article isn’t sidestepping that little detail, completely, and going digging up the typical rhetoric of injustices from long ago. Typical, blame Whitey even when Whitey is nowhere to be found slant.

Even the title “Asian Americans now see why we need to fight back against racism, not ignore it” seems to imply that Evil Whitey is behind it. But of course, if the title was accurate, as in “Asian Americans overwhelmingly targeted by blacks in hate crimes” wouldn’t fly, in today’s culture.

Of course nearly everything about Black Inventors is pure BS. The government embarked on a propaganda campaign decades ago to promote the idea that black people had made important inventions to the modern world. In other words to make whites distrust the evidence of all their senses and long personal experience – that blacks were dull witted and not capable of significant accomplishment. They published articles that showed that blacks had held patents for all kinds of products.

This was an early attempt at promoting the idea that Black Lives Matter. Otherwise people would conclude that blacks didn’t matter much. They were a race of janitors.

This was the same motivation that led such people to confuse and distort the term “computer” so as to promote the fantasy that some obscure black female clerks had been important in launching the space program. Remember that Barack Obama – the media’s idea of a genius probably couldn’t do long division. All mathematicians in history have been either Caucasian or Asian. Simple fact. Five major races but only two (and some Mayans) could do math.

The reason the bad guys could get away with these kind of frauds is that most people have no experience with getting a patent or making an invention. It is not like in the movies. One solitary genius invents something and by the final reel everyone praises him and cheers.

Almost everyone knows who Edison and Alexander Graham Bell were because of old movies. Today almost no one has heard of Philo Farnsworth or Frederico Fagin – the inventors of television and the integrated circuit respectively. They were, like most inventors, white men as was William Shockley. So no Warner Brothers hagiographic film biographies for them. Hollywood prefers to invent black female mathematicians out of thin air.

In the real world of invention any important new idea is disputed. That’s why there are patent lawyers. Typically there could be twenty patents filed and many granted around any breakthrough. In films the story ends when the patent is granted. In the real world that is when the real struggle begins.

The government simply scanned the records of inventions and then selected out the few where there had been a black claimant or disputant to a patent. There are hundreds of thousands of inventions and so there are plenty of blacks who made or can claim to have made some patentable variation. Bingo the black guy gets on a list of inventors.

Don’t be deceived. The government lies about everything to promote the “everyone is equal” weltanschauung.

One of the human chromosomes has TWO centromeres and a telomere-like sequence in about the middle, showing that it formed from the union of two ape chromosomes.  The arrangement of genes on these chromosomes are homologous to each other.  This accounts for humans having 23 pairs while apes have 24, and probably figured prominently in the separation of the two lineages.

The claim that Fagin was “the inventor of the integrated circuit” does have some chronological issues with the claims that Jack Kilby created the first microprocessor. And it is significant that Kilby was awarded the Nobel Prize in Physics in 2000 for exactly that invention.

Undoubtedly Fagin worked on Si based microprocessor whereas Kilby demonstrated his microprocessor on Ge. Likely the difference was that when Kilby did his work, higher purity Ge was easier to obtain, compared to Si. And Kilby demonstrated his microprocessor in 1958 at Texas Instruments while Fagin did his most significant work around 1971 at Intel.

No, sorry. It’s a literary reference, from the title of a science fiction book called The Analog Men, by Damon Knight, also published in the UK under the title Hell’s Pavement.

An Analog is a form of mind control. Like an induced delusion. Each citizen in the future society is given one to keep him on the strait and narrow. It takes the form of a feared authority figure, tailored to the subject; a policeman, a strict mother, a harsh teacher, somebody that the subject knows and fears, who pops up at times of temptation and persuades him to behave.

I adopted the handle in the early internet days, when I first discovered Amren. I queried whether Amren was a real resistance movement, or only an analogue of one, designed to persuade us that all was well, we’re in good hands. I guess I got my answer.

I wonder if their New Orleans mural will include the phrase “Blacks commit 97% of homicides in New Orleans.” (Yes, that’s the actual average annual percentage.) The city has a staggering amount of pro-black murals already, particularly in the liberal hipster Bywater neighborhood. Many of them feature black youth holding up beakers or other sciencey devices, or the usual canonized civil rights idols, but the most common trope by far is a black woman with a massive afro, usually painted in psychedelic colors. Several restaurants have “Be a loud, unapologetic voice against racism & violence towards black people” painted on them. (The only time I can think of that a white person has killed a black person in the past decade in NOLA was a guy who shot a teen who had broken into his gated yard at night. By contrast, blacks here have killed at least one white food delivery person in each of the last several years.) Here’s a particularly large example: https://www.instagram.com/p/CA6K39FlG8I But don’t stare too long at these lovely works of art as you drive through the city, as I see about 40-50 black-driven cars speeding right through stop signs / red lights there every day, and they kill a few bicyclists per year. The preferred vehicle brand by blacks in Louisiana is Nissan, for some unknown reason, particularly maroon ones, as well as white ones. When I notice a maroon Nissan anywhere near me, my mind & body go into high alert mode. Ironically, there are now billboards in the New Orleans & Baton Rouge areas that feature a black woman giving a steely-eyed gaze beneath the phrase “Judge me by how I drive” (with the implied ending “…not by the color of my skin”). As for their breakfast habits, I don’t know if blacks here eat anything that isn’t fried, so I would imagine they stick to fried sausage & fried eggs, leaving egg on Kellogg’s’ (black)face.

We all knew, of course, that black majority rule would be a disaster. We watched the process spread all through Africa. Algeria seemed remote; they weren’t Babuntus, and it was France’s problem. I started to take notice with Ghana in 1958. Congo in 1960. As the dominoes fell, one by one, each was a horror story of atrocities, collapse into savagery, military dictatorships and please-save-the-starving-children. We knew what to expect. There was a reason for Apartheid.

Anyway, with the chaos advancing nearer to our border each year, and the whole world competing to see who could give the most money and support to the terrorists, and destroy our economy with sanctions, eventually we were “last man standing”. The government held a referendum on the question of whether to negotiate with the ANC, with the promise that any deal reached would be presented to the voters in a second referendum for approval. But they sold us out, and gave away the farm. Obviously, no second referendum.

In 1990, the ANC was unbanned and the first “democratic” election announced for 1994. At that time, my two oldest daughters were at university. I saw that Affirmative Action was the new fashion, and so there would be no jobs for them after graduation. So I packed them off to study in America (“and don’t come back”). Or rather, one of them, followed by my youngest when she finished school. The eldest wanted to get married; she eventually emigrated to New Zealand, where I joined her after I retired.

If you want to see a documentary on that process of decolonization, Youtube has several copies of Africa Addio, a 1966 Italian documentary (AKA Africa Blood and Guts). I haven’t watched it all; it’s not light entertainment. I’ve read that some scenes are staged,, so viewer discretion…

This copy has an English soundtrack, and not the worst video quality. You may be able to find better. It has a content warning, so don’t be surprised if it disappears:

If you’re interested, the book “The Battle for Rhodesia” by Douglas Reed is on archive dot org, and it’s a short (+/- 100 pages), easy and fascinating read. And, of course, my usual plug for the best book I ever read, by the same author, “The Controversy of Zion“. Find out who stole America, how and when. You’ll be amazed.
