Previously on SBPDL: Black Lives Matter Leader Muhiyidin D’Baha [Who Took Down Confederate Flag on National TV] Murdered by Fellow Black Person In New Orleans

Somehow, someway, this is the fault of white people and white gun owners. [Oakland Councilwoman’s Son, a USC Student and Gun Control Advocate, Is Fatally Shot, Governing.com, March 14, 2019]:

When Alinzia Davenport recalls her godbrother as a little boy, a vivid image comes to mind: a tiny Victor McElhaney in the middle of a drum circle led by older men, keeping up with the beat on his bongos.

“I just knew one day he was going to be a famous old man and we’d be going to his concerts,” Davenport said.

McElhaney devoted most of his life to the intersection of community and music. The 21-year-old son of Oakland Councilwoman Lynette Gibson McElhaney began playing drums before he could read. By the time he moved to Los Angeles in the fall of 2017 to study jazz at the University of Southern California, he had made his mark on Oakland as a mentor to other young performers and an advocate for black lives, women and gun control.

For his friends and family, then, there is devastating irony in the way McElhaney died.

At around 12:30 a.m. Sunday, McElhaney and eight friends walked from a nearby home to a strip-mall liquor store at Maple Avenue and Adams Boulevard, about a mile and a half from USC, said Los Angeles Police Capt. Billy Hayes, who oversees the Robbery Homicide Division. After buying booze, the group was approached in the parking lot by three or four men. The men attempted to mug the group, and McElhaney was shot likely after objecting to the robbery, Hayes said. The suspects fled in a car. No one else was hurt.

McElhaney was taken to the hospital in critical condition and pronounced dead at 11 a.m. Sunday. No arrests had been made in connection with the shooting as of Monday afternoon.

Those close to McElhaney described him as a critical thinker who thrived off making people smile, and a goofy and animated humanitarian. He was known for his big hugs and an intense love of percussion.

More than anything, he believed in the power of music to bring people together.

“He thought it could heal the world,” Davenport said.

McElhaney was 11 years old when he started studying at the Oakland Public Conservatory of Music. Even at that young age, he displayed a deep passion for West African drumming, said Angela Wellman, the conservatory’s founding director.

He was soon a fixture at the conservatory, studying music after school, attending its summer academy and playing timbales on stage at Oakland’s Art and Soul Music festival as part of the Frederick Douglass Youth Ensemble. He absorbed wisdom from the elders in Oakland’s African American community and became a teen mentor to younger kids at the conservatory, Wellman said.

McElhaney had a deep understanding of the historical significance of being an African American who played jazz, Wellman said, and “the importance and the depth of the rhythmic impulse of the music and where that comes from.”

“He represented the promise we hold for all our youth, particularly for our black youth,” she said.

ORDER IT NOW

Wellman advised a teenage McElhaney to head to the East Coast for college, but he wanted to stay close to home. He attended Cal State East Bay before transferring to USC, where he was an active member of the Center for Black Cultural and Student Affairs.

McElhaney made an impression on his classmates at USC’s Thornton School of Music. Athena Sferas, a 19-year-old sophomore, took a course with McElhaney in the fall that delved into how music and art have influenced history.

It was one of those large, introductory discussion classes where most people were hesitant to contribute, Sferas said. But McElhaney wasn’t afraid to politely challenge students whose views he didn’t agree with.

“As a black student, he felt there were voices throughout history that haven’t been heard,” Sferas said. “He wanted to make sure black narratives weren’t left out.”

McElhaney’s death comes just a few years after his family lost another loved one, 17-year-old Torian Hughes, to gun violence. Torian, whom McElhaney’s parents helped to raise, was shot and killed during a robbery in West Oakland in 2015.

The death broke McElhaney’s heart, said Azariah Cole-Shephard, a 20-year-old Oakland poet who knew McElhaney since preschool. After the tragedy, she said, McElhaney would often initiate conversations about gun violence in person and on social media. He was his mom’s biggest cheerleader as she helped create the city’s Department of Violence Prevention and led an effort to preserve Measure Z, a public safety measure that funds investment in community policing and violent crime prevention strategies.

At McElhaney’s farewell party just before he left for USC, the guest of honor asked Cole-Shephard to perform her poem “For the Black Men My Love Cannot Protect.” She recited lines that mourned the lives of young black men cut short by gunfire.

Somehow, some way, white people will be blamed for this black-on-black shooting in Los Angeles.

A black Black Lives Matter activist gunned down by a black male is always the fault of white people. That’s he was the daughter of the black city council member who attacked a white woman daring to the call the cops on blacks who violated the law in a park in Oakland is … poetic.

Unrelated, but with the situation in New Zealand a few hours ago, I do not know if this goes on in New Zealand or not, But in The USA College Professors, Celebrities, Politicians are constantly telling White People They are Crap (Many/Most of them are White Themselves so Ethnomasochist’s), Example Tim Wise who CLAIMS to be Anti-Racist, but look at his twitter, he is constantly bashing White People, saying hateful things CONSTANTLY, Saira Rao is another, Khaled Beydoun same thing, many others look at how they went after the Covington Kids who were in fact victims of hate spewed at them for OVER an hour as they were waiting for the bus.

Look at some of the classes taught at Colleges.
    1. White Privilege-What purpose does this class serve, except to create resentment of Whites???
    2. Critical Race Theory- Basically bashing Whites all the time
    3. Black Studies- Teaches Achievements of Blacks, and the evil whites did to them.
4, Spanish studies-same Spanish achievements and the evil whites did to them.
    5. White Studies NO MENTION of anything positive whites have done, talks about how evil whites are.

Look at the TV, you see commentators say I hope its not another straight white male, It is too pale, stale and male, or simply TOO WHITE

Candace Owens who is Black, saw some of the hate against Whites on twitter, So She Tweeted the EXACT same thing EXCEPT put the word black instead of white, and she was suspended from twitter, while the people saying it towards White people were not suspended, even though many complained about it.

Of course some people are going to snap when hate is CONSTANTLY directed at them, I think people bash White People so much is because they are mostly peaceful, even docile which is not good if people knew that when they bashed white people they would have a fight, most wouldn’t do it.

I wonder if these people CONSTANTLY spewing hate towards Whites, basically caused the New Zealand situation to happen?????????????????????????????????????

People have to be responsible for their own actions. It’s quite true that an atmosphere of hatred–particularly when sponsored by official institutions–is pernicious and destructive, but that doesn’t absolve anyone anywhere from personal responsibility for acts of violence.

Making this situation even worse is the fact (if experience is any guide) that this horror will be used as a cudgel to increase the oppression upon white males thereby intensifying the ‘atmosphere of hatred’ I referred to above.

In short: to understand is not to excuse.

Reading the story, it seems this guy’s life was so immersed in “blackness”, meaning, that every school subject and all the activities he was involved with had a black focus to it. Too bad no instructor or mentor told him (warned him) that blacks are emotional, violent savages and to always be on guard when in a black community or around a majority black environment. I’ve given up hope that, in my lifetime, a prominent black person will publicly say, “we are a violent race and our own worst enemy. No wonder civilized people (White people) don’t like us or want to be around us.”

The elders of the Oakland African American community apparently didn’t impress upon young Victor the stupidity of walking to the Oakland liquor store at 12:30 in the morning.

Nothing good happens after midnight. That should be your first clue. Next, they went to a liquor store a mile and a half from the USC campus. Nowhere in this story does it tell you the color of the alleged assailants, but the neighborhood all around USC is one of dark shades, so I am led to believe. Another robbery gone wrong.

I’ve heard that Black people are fond of giving “the talk” to their offspring concerning proper deportment when interacting with the police. I guess they neglected to include in “the talk” some advice about wandering off the USC campus, at 12:30 am, in a Black area of LA.

It’s far more likely that this guy was a Deep State asset, his breakdown carefully scripted so it can be used to further abuse, disenfranchise and dispossess White men.  The bodies are real but the Deep State cares nothing about murder for the sake of advancing its own power.

The fact that these things DID NOT happen before mass immigration and relentless denigration of White men is irrelevant to The Narrative.  The fact that e.g. Shi’a are far more likely to be shot or bombed in Pakistan than in New Zealand is also irrelevant to The Narrative.  No matter what happens, per The Narrative, White men are to blame if it’s bad and can take no credit if it’s good.

Just watched the movie Apollo 11. What a nostalgic trip back into the last days of the once great America. Everyone had pride in the nation, waved the small hand-held flags like crazy, sang patriotic songs, told the President in phone calls about what an honor it was to speak with him. But the most striking thing about the movie is that there are NO BLACKS in it. Just a sea of white folks. Can you imagine that?? Hard to believe when you would think that there would have been at least the two black women scientists from the movie Hidden Figures. After all, according to the movie, the moon mission would have never gotten off the ground without them. For all those who are too young to remember when America was truly great, I would strongly recommend this movie.

  25. Liquor store after midnight. Thugs lounging in the parking lot. Really bad judgement. If experience is any indicator, folks got inebriated, decided to go get more supplies to keep going when they ran out. Nobody should die for this, but there are bad people out there who want more of the stuff too. The lowlifes of any ethnicity have been known to kill just for the fun of it in these situations. It’s not poetic, just really ugly. It’s hard for people to see their child die.

  28. Whenever I point out that, in order to have a capital punishment system, you absolutely must kill innocent people (thus making yourself a murderer), somebody tells me a grisly anecdote.

And thinks grisly anecdotes constitute argumentation.

They do not. True argumentation entails addressing the actual premises of the argument, and employing logic and proof, devoid of fallacies.

But here, I’ll play your fool’s game. Let’s say somebody commits a grisly murder. And let’s say, for argument’s sake, that you have some foolproof way of knowing beyond the shadow of a doubt who did this murder (you cannot, it is impossible, but just for argument’s sake, let’s pretend you could). Then who wouldn’t want him executed?

The above hypothetical, however, is not how capital punishment works.

How it works is, mixed in there on death row with all the guilty murderers, there sit several innocent patsies. Always. Never fails. So, in order to kill the guilty ones, you have to kill the innocent ones, too.

I like how you libertarians who say the government can’t do anything right trust the government to kill without one single oversight.

Now, I know that all you care about is blacks. And whenever you talk about murder, you mean blacks. But I hate to tell you, whites commit murder, lots of it, and whites get wrongly convicted, time and time again.

Check out, for instance, Kirk Bloodsworth. In this case, Kirk, the victim, and the real perpetrator were all white. Had it not been for DNA, Kirk would be dead now. And he was lucky. In many cases, there is no DNA evidence. Innocents without exonerating DNA are doomed.

Bloodsworth got convicted in the first place because of a DA hunting for blood and a drunken public defender. I wonder why you can’t imagine yourself in the same circumstances? Never seen a Hitchcock film apparently.

Also, FYI, Kirk Bloodsworth was a card-carrying, conservative, All-American deplorable supporter of capital punishment. Until the truncheon came down on him. Now he says things to the effect of, “Well, I don’t know, but I think they ought to stop executing people until they can figure out a way to do something about this innocence problem.”

Just doesn’t fit into any of your insane simpleton black-and-white cut-and-dry one-two-three fantasies. Because it is complicated, uncanny, non-stereotypical–like real life.

I have just written an article superior to those written by most of the hacks on here. And yet they demand of me that I “entertain” them and offer something “substantive.”

I don’t “entertain” hacks, and it insults my intelligence to cast substantive before swine.

This kind of thing benefits no one and I don’t want to see anyone gunned down for no reason, black or white. But the blacks won’t take responsibility for this and a large part of the reason is Jewish and liberal/SJC White mollycoddling (although not the primary reason).

Blacks as a group need to make it clear they want the black thuggery stopped and be willing to step forward on the issue. That is not likely to occur.

That’s one of two ways this stops. The other is that we get an American Putin, Pinochet, Mussolini, or, you know, that other guy from Austria (no, not that one, the other one……..) and the gangbangers go out the back door of a CH-53E over somewhere in South Chicago, minus parachute.

    Wikipedia:

In 2015, Owens founded the website Degree180.[5][2] The website frequently posted anti-conservative and anti-Trump content, including mockery of his penis size.[5][13] In a 2015 column that Owens wrote for the site she criticized conservative Republicans, writing about the “bat-shit-crazy antics of the Republican Tea Party”, adding, “The good news is, they will eventually die off (peacefully in their sleep, we hope), and then we can get right on with the OBVIOUS social change that needs to happen, IMMEDIATELY.”[2][10][14][15]

When BuzzFeed News in May 2018 reported on the anti-Trump content on Degree180, Owens described the BuzzFeed reporter as a “despicable creature” and alleged that Buzzfeed had threatened the former writers of Degree180 (an allegation that Buzzfeed denied).[5]

By 2017, Owens had become known in conservative circles for her pro-Trump commentary and for criticizing liberal rhetoric regarding structural racism, systemic inequality, and identity politics.[5][6][7] In 2017, she began posting politically themed videos to YouTube.[5] She launched Red Pill Black, a website and YouTube channel that promotes black conservatism in the United States

  45. Whenever I point out that, in order to have a capital punishment system, you absolutely must kill innocent people

Not at all. You could have a system where only active criminals with previous felony convictions can face execution.

But more importantly if you actually look at most cases where the accused was exonerated it wasn’t because they were innocent. It was because there wasn’t enough evidence to prove they actually committed the crime they were charged with and not a lesser crime like accessory to murder. The MSM conveniently won’t mention that in such cases. They want you to think it’s a case of a random Black man being picked out of a crowd.

I’m actually ambivalent to the death penalty in the US. It’s artificially expensive because the appeals system is just plain dumb. You can be caught on camera but are still able to file all kinds of last minute appeals at both state and federal level. I say bring back the chain gangs as a compromise.

Most of the thugs are punished by their own eventually. When they get away with murder they don’t cash in their chips and live a peaceful life. They get away with a murder through a plea bargain or technicality and then caught or shot a few years later. It seems to make them more brazen in fact.

  46. @PW Herman

“I guess they neglected to include in “the talk” some advice about wandering off the USC campus, at 12:30 in a Black area of LA.”

Reminds me of when I lived in Los Angeles back in the 80’s and the black guys at work told me a few stories about their high school days in the 70’s and how it wasn’t uncommon to be walking to or from school and to see a dead body laying under an overpass or in an empty lot.

They also told me one of the main rules of the hood was that if you were in your car at a stop sign or traffic light and a group of Crips began walking across the street, to keep your head down and don’t look at them. This also applied if you were just walking on the street and saw the Crips just standing about and loitering in front of a store or other building. Apparently, if you were caught looking at them (no matter how innocently and even if it was just a glance as you were randomly looking about), this would provoke a confrontation that could turn violent as it was considered a threat display and a challenge to their “authority.” Of course, that behavior is common to a lot of blacks who’ll get belligerant and hostile when you accidentally look at them and they notice and start screeching, “Whatchoo lookin’ at, muthafucka?!?”

I could not believe the black “sociologist” rantings from ’69 that we were spending too much money on the space program and not enough on black people. Now, after a trillion dollars has been spent on black poverty, blacks are still murdering each other at the same astronomical rate and killing & raping whitey at a faster rate than in 1969. Some things never change (violent blacks wanting more gibmedats) and some things change (more white victims at the hands of blacks). And Kersey’s book is a very good read.

    ORIGINAL REPORT:

OZARK, Ala. (WDHN) — After nearly 20 years, Ozark police may finally have a lead on who killed teenagers J.B. Hilton Green Beasley and Tracie Hawlett back in 1999.

Police have taken someone into custody after a DNA match was found through a family DNA website, similar to how investigators in California found the man believed to be the Golden State Killer in 2018.

Ozark police have not officially confirmed this development, but former police Chief Tony Spivey was seen leaving the Ozark Police Department with Chief Marlos Walker and Sheriff Wally Olson Friday night.

On July 31, 1999, Northview students J.B. and Tracie were on their way to a party for J.B.’s birthday over in Headland. As fate would have it, they would never make it to their destination.

According to Tracie’s mother Carol Roberts, the girls couldn’t understand the directions they were given and got lost, ending up in Ozark. …

Death is permanent and the murder of a young black man by other young black men is indicative of the greater problem within black communities. Blacks don’t hold other blacks accountable for their behavior and criminality.

The rich irony associated with disarming the law abiding as a reaction to criminal behavior was obviously lost upon you.

The overwhelming majority of black males over age 18 are prohibited possessors due to felonies and addiction to weed. Go ahead, read form 4473 yourself. But, the still get guns. You know how? Breaking the law. So let’s make more laws because the ones we have aren’t effective. Instead of empowering (a word you would like) the law abiding through greater access to a firearm for self defense and training to significantly improve the odds.

You know, the odds of dying when faced by a back of feral Monday’s looking to take your stuff.

Thanks, you are correct. The Great Society has been way more than a trillion especially when you consider the costs of maintaining all the dysfunctional zoos in our country. Prison, legal, medical (I’ve always wondered if a single gangbanging murderous/murdered thug ever bought Obamacare), destruction of property, lowering of home values, loss of tax revenue, all of the productive, taxpaying white people murdered or injured, etc…

  58. Swimologist says: • Website

You have no evidence a single person has been wrongly executed in this country. None

  59. @Truth

Why shouldn’t we be snarky about killings in the ghetto? White people get blamed and dunned for more $ whenever blacks get a chance. A lot of us get beaten up, mugged, raped, and murdered too. God said we had to turn the other cheek but that doesn’t include liking abuse.

  60. @Swimologist

You really have no need to be here do you. None of us on here are perfect.!! But you.. you are an idiot. Please pick up your vagina hat on the way out.
We live in a society with many checks and balances. In that group of people who control those instruments we have ignorance and stupidity. mostly driven by political/financial greed or they themselves have something to hide. Is it wrong we execute innocents?? You god damned right it is!!! I can’t imagine bowing down to defeat to allow myself to be murdered by the state. It is the greatest humiliation one can think of.
Again, with a little research you will learn we have executed innocents. That too is subject to interpretation.
But if you ask everyone on death row; black , white, yellow, red, what have you, they will all profess to be innocent.

  61. Mr. Grey says:

With Councilwoman McElhaney’s call to end gun violence, I realized the Democrats obsession with gun control is connected to their unwillingness to confront the problem of violent crime in black communities, which is wildly out-of-proportion to their percentage of the population. The high crime is obvious to everyone, whether they are on the left or the right, but if you are an identitarian leftist the truth does not fit your narrative. They can never blame black culture is any way. Fake causes, like the ephemeral ‘systemic racism’ or the even more ephemeral ‘unconscious bias’ can only get you so far. All that is left is to blame it on the guns, which works well for politicians because Americans aren’t going to give up their guns anytime soon. Hustlers like McElhaney can make a living crusading against guns while never having to actually do any work to make their communities a better place to live.

By your thinking, we should never go to war because there will always be innocent killed. And the police should not be armed.

The death penalty is a far more deliberative process and has far more safeguards than warfare.

Remember, juries are to decide on the criterion of “beyond a reasonable doubt” not to an absolute certainty.

So you support murder. Don’t weasel out of it. You support murder. Fine, call it a mistake. Murder by any other name is still murder.

You are the typical kind of “reasonable” person who will be the end of the world. Fie on “reasonable” defenses of murder.

  66. Medvedev says:
    @RoseTownship

So true, Blacks won’t be able to maintain even Detroit-like living conditions without Whitey’s help.

Leave Blacks alone and they will degrade to the level of poorest third world countries, just like it happened with Liberia and Haiti. These are TRUE INDICATORS of their achievements and contributions to the US economy, unlike mumbo jumbo studies which praise blackness and their imaginary contributions all the time.

The other truth, without constant help from Whitey and foreign aid Blacks won’t be able to sustain even current living conditions of Haiti or Liberia. Basically, half of Haiti’s population would die of malnutrition and infectious diseases.

Low-IQ Blacks* are just like dogs. You teach a dog some tricks, but dog won’t teach tricks to its puppies. You need to do it all over again.
For several generations US is stuck in the same vicious cycle, trying to teach Blacks something and elevate them to the level of Whitey. When it doesn’t work out (as always) blame Whitey for the failure and racism. And start all over again with a new generation of Blacks, new welfare programs, more funding, more blame on Whitey and so on.

There’s excellent evidence that Cameron Todd Willingham was executed on the basis of “expert” testimony based on theories of arson since proven to be wrong.

GWB could have commuted his sentence, but didn’t care enough to.

OTOH the vast majority of nogs who murder people in the course of robberies, carjackings and home invasions can be proven guilty far beyond any reasonable doubt and should be removed from our society permanently and promptly.

  69. @obwandiyag

Now I would love to see a research paper by a university PhD sociologist that will easily prove this instead of their usual contortions of PC nonsense blaming whitey for everything. However, it will never be done in my lifetime and perhaps will never be started. Google-Nazification/Stalinization/Maoization will dehumanize any clever person trying to research information to prove the obvious.

the blacks were bused in until 2009 in the school district I live in and all they did was make the local whites hate them even more than they already did. Black students and teachers were rude and aggressive and made the local cops hate them too and be trigger happy.

  75. @obwandiyag

I’m a bigger believer in what happens when some Trayvon thinks he can assault/rape/murder with impunity and the intended victim turns out to be capable of using a deadly-force defense.

The goal of self-defense is to stop the crime in progress. Given the recidivism rate for violent criminals, if the aggressor nominates himself for a Darwin Award, more’s the better.

I remember that movie, and was particularly struck by the final scene, just as the credits started rolling, where the black director or project manager or whatever, walked around congratulating all the White men who had done the job. It was blatant, even back then, though obviously not by today’s standards.

  77. AnalogMan says:

McElhaney’s death comes just a few years after his family lost another loved one, 17-year-old Torian Hughes, to gun violence. Torian, whom McElhaney’s parents helped to raise, was shot and killed during a robbery in West Oakland in 2015.

I’m sorry. I laughed, out loud.
