The Army‘s recruiting of white soldiers has dropped significantly in the last half decade, according to internal data reviewed by Military.com, a decline that accounts for much of the service’s historic recruitment slump that has become the subject of increasing concern for Army leadership and Capitol Hill.
The shift in demographics for incoming recruits would be irrelevant to war planners, except it coincides with an overall shortfall of about 10,000 recruits for the Army in 2023 as the service missed its target of 65,000 new soldiers. That deficit is straining the force as it has ramped up its presence in the Pacific and Europe: A smaller Army is taking on a larger mission and training workload than during the peak of the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan — leading to soldiers being away from home now more than ever.
A total of 44,042 new Army recruits were categorized by the service as white in 2018, but that number has fallen consistently each year to a low of 25,070 in 2023, with a 6% dip from 2022 to 2023 being the most significant drop. No other demographic group has seen such a precipitous decline, though there have been ups and downs from year to year.
In 2018, 56.4% of new recruits were categorized as white. In 2023, that number had fallen to 44%. During that same five-year period, Black recruits have gone from 20% to 24% of the pool, and Hispanic recruits have risen from 17% to 24%, with both groups seeing largely flat recruiting totals but increasing as a percentage of incoming soldiers as white recruiting has fallen.
The rate at which white recruitment has fallen far outpaces nationwide demographic shifts, data experts and Army officials interviewed by Military.com noted. They don’t see a single cause to the recruiting problem, but pointed to a confluence of issues for Army recruiting, including partisan scrutiny of the service, a growing obesity epidemic and an underfunded public education system.
Internally, some Army planners are alarmed over the data trends, but see it as a minefield to navigate given increasing partisan attacks against the military for its efforts to recruit and support a diverse force, according to interviews with several service officials.
The Army declined Military.com’s request to share its regional recruiting data, which could show what specific parts of the country are struggling. Military.com had seen internal Army numbers that suggested that the shift in demographics was even more dramatic, but when presented with those figures, Army public affairs officials insisted that they were wrong and provided updated statistics included in this article, while blaming a system coding error.
The updated data provided by the Army did not break down recruit demographics by both race and gender at the same time, meaning that it’s unclear whether the sharp decline is worse among white women or white men, or if the drop was the same for both groups.

This time was just as the rot was setting in… I do my best today to discourage younger people from joining. Who wants to fight wars for Isreal anyway? I’ve seen many articles on the web bemoaning the fact that young people no longer want to join, without touching on the real reasons, such as Biden’s clown world, globo homo and the good possibility of being killed or seriously damaged in another war for Jewish interests. I do a lot of work on Air Force bases and as I drive and walk around taking in the joke that is the current active duty crop of lazy fat slobs (mostly women) it’s a wonder aircraft aren’t falling from the skies at higher rates. A miracle I can only assume is a result of the civilian male workforce still working on the planes with 30+ years of experience.
Another issue is the Joint Chiefs not pushing back on this transgender bullshit. When you drop your enlistment standards so low as to allow people to enlist that are clearly mentally ill and want to wear a costume depicting themselves as the opposite sex, yeah that’s going to really be a situation that’ll attract just the sort of people conducive to protecting a nation like ours. Most of my fellow vets are discouraging our children from joining the military. Even in the 1980s the Army was too black and too incompetent, but now I’m told the Navy has gone full sodomite and the Air Force extremely woke. The blacks I knew in the Army, and this was after a high school diploma became mandatory, were extremely incompetent. Whatever job they held, from supply to tanker, they couldn’t get it done with any skill. During my time an order came down that a White could only be promoted if at least 1 black and 1 Hispanic was promoted. From everything I’ve heard, it’s gotten much worse. The disaster of a withdrawal in Afghanistan was just the beginning, expect to see more of that, very soon.
Make sure you can repair vehicles and can mechanically understand a rifle. Some kind of martial art too.

I know a bunch of people I grew up with and have met over the years who joined various branches of the military in the mid-90s/early 2000s. Most of them put in 10-20 years and got out, all of them have discouraged their kids from signing up for military service, unless it’s the Coast Guard.

That explains why we are not in the front lines in the Ukraine – our leaders know that our troops wouldn’t perform very well. So we play this game -praising our military prowess that is mainly an illusion – while all of the time making sure that it is not put to the test. I hate to see our Army on the front lines in Ukraine – they’d probably surrender, en masse. And they wouldn’t dare put them on liberty in a place like Kiev – the Black troops would rape every White woman in Ukraine. And that is what we have – an expensive Army that is not worth their salaries.
America is totally worn out. Our White Army won WWII; our colored Army won a draw in Korea; our Black Army lost in VietNam; and our “Disco assed” Army wouldn’t have a chance against a Russian Army.

I served as a technician in the US Air Force in the early 70’s and all of the aircraft maintenance was done by airmen. We occasionally got civilian field engineers coming in to train and observe the servicemen when systems were being upgraded or introduced, but we did 99% of the work. And I say servicemen because we were just getting the first female service members, but almost none of them were able to keep at it or in fact even really seemed to want to do it. One new airwoman reported to our base out of tech school six months pregnant. She accepted an offer of early discharge.
The mess hall and building maintenance operations did use a lot of civilian workers even back then. You are saying that aircraft maintenance is now also using civilian contractors? How would that work in a real war against a peer where our bases would come under fire?
If the citizenry is ever going to be fired on by its own army, you’d certainly rather it be black and brown soldiers doing it rather than more competent whites.
George W. Bush started wars that led to the United States putting military bases in Iraq and Afghanistan to surround Iran with, because it was the “next” war. Really, the post-1945 construction of a unified white Western world (the US plus EU plus some offshoots) was really quite a remarkable achievement (it’s still a work in progress, but very successful over the last almost 80 years). We’re now trying to secure and add Ukraine to this world in order to access its human capital for this world’s (our own) hive mind. Maybe if Russia will experience a pro-Western regime change it can also be added to this world. Things have changed quite a bit over the past 50 years when and where it comes to civilians being utilized in “hot zones.” The US Navy I believe is the last branch that doesn’t use civilian help when it comes to maintenance in war zones. I know at least 6 civilian (most prior or retired AF) men that are aircraft maintenance technicians/managers at Eglin AFB, Hurlburt Field and one at what’s left of Tyndall AFB after hurricane Michael mowed it almost completely off the map. Not sure if you’ve been on any AF bases lately but it’s not the same as it was when I started in 86.

The sad truth is that many White “men” who would once have joined the military are now so low-T wimpy and pansified that they would do no good in the military. Now, many young White males are uselessly soft.

We fought to a draw in Korea because we allowed our US Army forces to deteriorate horribly after WW2 .. thinking that nukes and B-29’s were all that was needed to defend the West. If not for the Marines, who kept up their standards, we would have suffered an epic defeat in the first 3 months
Then, mostly by incompetence of top leadership, we let ourselves to be ambushed by 300k Chinese infantry driven by ruthless military leaders. And again, it was the Marines and their superb performance in the Western theatre that saved the day
Later, we faced a half million man Chinese Army with small arms and artillery that was equal to ours, thanks to the USSR, which was deployed in mountainous terrain .. perfect for defense. This made victory impossible. Our WW2 force could not have evicted those Chinese, not without hundreds of thousand of KIA. And yes there were some “colored” units that performed poorly, but its not the deciding factor

I think every white kid ought to think about joining a military service, if only to get money for university. You will get propelled into a high paying profession within a decade after learning a trade in the military. Just don’t think about it being some kind of heroic act. Get your CDL, get your GE done. Get licences to be an electrician plumber etc. Get out do a history degree or engineering. Then go to law school or do a grad degree for things like engineering or architecture. Avoid police work though. Don’t get Floyded.

I asked if he learned originally to fire it in the army, he laughed and said they never even fired a single weapon during his entire training, this literally shocked me. I served in the US Army in the 60’s. It was a conscript army then. No need to decide whether or not you wanted to serve. I can’t imagine drafting Gen Z. Why would you even want them? They will offer citizenship for service. But that won’t work either as long as you can just walk across what once was the border and be home free. The Chinese are working to create robot soldiers guided by artificial belligerence. This is probably the wave of the future.
Non-participation is passivity, abdication, and surrender. There is societal value in having whites serve in the military. Best decision I made for myself as a teen was taking the GED exam halfway through the 11th grade and joining the Navy at 17. I was an MP at 18, pistol qualified, trained on the M60, on the ship’s honor guard, ran the closed circuit TV and “radio” station, was the captain’s phone talker for sea and anchor detail and general quarters, did search and rescue high angle rope work with Marines, sailed the Persian Gulf, the Red Sea, the Indian Ocean from Sri Lanka to Mombassa.
When I got out four years later I was miles ahead of the group I went to high school with and had almost five years of college paid for. In the process I developed character attributes and skills which have served me well through life.

You are correct. It is the “civilian sector” that sees qualified military trained specialists as a threat.
A good example of this is Army medics and Navy corpsmen. In combat situations, quite often they are required to perform procedures that would normally be performed by doctors.
Their valuable experience means nothing in the civilian sector.
Every medic or corpsman that I know who desired to continue his medical career has had to “start at the bottom”, their military qualifications, training and experience counting for nothing. If they want to continue in a medical field, they are required to take (or retake) courses that they have already completed.

Today’s military is so co-opted by “don’t ask don’t tell”, LGBTQXYZ, racial categorization for promotions that exclude whites, and other aberrations that would not have even been thought of twenty years ago, that I cannot recommend the military services to any young person. There are many cases of heterosexual men being propositioned and sexually abused by their male homosexual superiors, who quite often are forced to “go along to get along”, prized promotions being awarded to those who “get with the program”. Most heterosexual men would not admit to such behavior in the military, but it does exist. There were good reasons for prohibiting homosexuals from serving in the military. That has all gone by the wayside.
Yes, I realize that many more young people are “unfit to serve”, both physically and mentally, but this could be a positive attribute, especially if there is a possibility of being sent to “fight for israel”.
The “slide” toward American military ineptness started with the 0’bama administration where competent general staffs were “cashiered” (forced retirements) and replaced with 0’bama’s own “yes men”.

During WW2 the Coast Guard was called the Jewish Navy because so many Jews managed to get in and not be sent overseas to be killed.
The recruiters in the little storefront offices all seem to be black.
Your friend may have been pulling your leg about his Army service or what he actually did during that time. At about the third week of Army basic training my company carried our rifles everywhere we went, even if we weren’t going to the range that day. We just got used to them being with us all the time, except when they were in the arms room overnight.
We also spent a LOT of time on the rifle range and everyone had to qualify. If I recall correctly, some duds in my platoon and others were put out of the Army for being unable to qualify with their weapons. They were already pretty slow learners in every other aspect so this didn’t come as a surprise.
Later, when one is permanently assigned to a unit, in the arms room there is a weapon assigned to every person in the unit, and periodically there are visits to the rifle range. This includes not just combat units but support units as well. Everyone must go to the range and fire their weapon.
That was in 1975. About 15 years later I was in the area where I had gone through basic training so I dropped by the post for a visit and a walk down Memory Lane. I visited the MP station on post to ask directions and one of the MPs told me of a recent and humorous interaction. A training company commander called up the MPs because a female trainee had refused to go to the range and fire her weapon. I don’t know what her recruiter told her, but it was the Army and that meant everyone trains on and fires weapons. The MP said, “I don’t know what the company commander expected us to do about her.” A swift discharge and a bus ticket home would have solved the training company commander and any subsequent commanders a lot of headaches in dealing with someone who was surely going to be nothing but trouble during her entire enlistment.
I spent a year assigned as an Army soldier to a USAF base overseas and I learned that my Air Force friends only spent one day with rifles at the firing range and that was it. Most of their time was spent marching from one classroom to another and sitting in classrooms. One of my friends said he gained 20 pounds in six weeks of USAF basic training because they were fed so generously and hardly had any physical fitness training.
I should add here that USAF guys who go into Security Forces (formerly Security Police), particularly in their Air Base Ground Defense role, acting like light infantry, have a very different experience. So do those who go into pararescue, combat control teams, tactical air control parties (TACP), special recon, etc. That’s an entirely different world in the USAF.
I think I gained close to 20 pounds in Army basic training but most of it was in my chest and shoulders from doing hundreds of push-ups every day, and going through the monkey bars three times and then doing more push-ups before going into the mess hall three times a day — that is, when we weren’t at the rifle ranges or in the field. I had entered the Army as skinny kid and that soon changed. I was burning up calories and always hungry, but as a trainee you have no freedom to drop by a convenience store, a fast food restaurant or your mom’s kitchen to get a snack because you are 100% controlled 24/7. If you’re in formation you can’t even more your eyeballs. This comes as a shock to most people because they just haven’t experienced anything like this during their entire lives.
Five years later I was in college on the GI Bill and was serving in a Reserve unit. A college friend joined my unit and went off to basic training at Fort Benning, GA, in the summer, which is no joke. He had gotten married earlier that year and his once-formidable fitness had slacked off. He was in a combined basic and infantry course lasting 12 weeks during which time he lost 35 pounds and 5.5 inches across his waist. And yes, he was at the rifle range a lot.
I wouldn’t recommend the military as a place to get yourself into good physical shape. That will probably happen but by the time I had finished basic training I just felt ragged out. Some people incur injuries that result in being discharged, and those injuries could be permanent.
Keep in mind that you’ll be at the very bottom of the food chain so everyone gets to abuse you. That lightens up somewhat after you depart trainee status but you’re still at the very bottom, and even other lower enlisted folks, who have a stripe or two more than you do, will delight in abusing you and taking advantage of you.

What one experiences in the military is a mixed bag. I found I could endure a lot more than I would have expected, possibly because I really didn’t have a choice at that point, and I got to see and do things and go places that others could only imagine.
On the downside you may be surrounded by lowlifes, druggies, alkies, thieves, people who have disgusting habits, guys who blow their money on prostitutes each month, etc. In a barracks you have no choice in who bunks alongside you. You will receive a graduate-level education on foul language that I recommend not sharing with your folks back home or anyone else. Also, the locales in the immediate vicinity of military bases are usually undesirable places that have been putting up with GIs for a long time and don’t like them, while also catering to them with sleazy bars, strip joints, houses of prostitution, drug dealing, surplus stores dealing in stolen uniform items and field gear, sleazy off-post housing, etc.
Those around you may be your worst enemies. For example, if you join a Ranger battalion, you’ll arrive there with your jump wings but not your Ranger tab (for graduating from Ranger School) because you haven’t been sent yet, and anyone who is tab-less is fair game for unending abuse by everyone else. You will be in absolute, miserable hell. Doubt me? Ask anyone who went to a Ranger battalion without a tab. (Full disclosure: I did not go into a Ranger battalion but everyone who gets assigned without having already earned a Ranger tab will tell you the same tale of woe. It’s just a fact of life. Recruiters will not tell you what you are really in for if you enlist for this option.) It is not like the movies in which they razz you for a while until you “prove” yourself and then everybody’s your comrade and friend forever. That’s Hollywood, not reality.
Later I went through officer training and that includes getting up in front of others and presenting briefings. It’s a good way to get rid of “stage fright” if you’re not used to addressing groups, and that is indeed something useful to learn while in uniform. You may be able to put that skill to use later in life.
The best thing about being in the military was living overseas and making friends with many people in other NATO forces. That probably had an unintended affect on me. Today I would absolutely refuse to go to war against any white countries, especially ones where my friends live. If the feral government in DC decided it was time to kill Germans again, they can just send orcs and bean bandidos because I’m not having it. I’ve also learned that wars are invariably based on blatant lies and I’m just through dealing with that sort of thing.

It’s not an “either/or” choice of going into the military to “man up” (if that actually happens) or being a mama’s boy and a couch slug hooked on video games. You can have a good, honest productive life outside of the military. You’ll need to set some goals for yourself and work toward them, and I realize that as a youngster that’s hard to do because you still have so much to learn about life, but it can be done.

At one point joining the military was a great benefit to a young man, especially one with no definite plans. If nothing else you got in shape and learned to show up to work on time with the shit you needed to complete the task. These days, I wonder.

On Paul Kersey, my completely unfounded guess is this has become a burden to him, something he has to make himself do. He’s expressed thoughts of burnout with the steady parade of blacks murdering whites and such in the past. No matter how bad the military has become, and I think I have a fair handle on how it is now, which is worse – young whites receiving military training in all the fields in which the military offers excellent training or none at all. I signed up for six years active to go to a two year advanced electronics school that was so highly regarded that civilian companies were trying to lure Navy students away while they were still in the program.
What percentage of US servicemen and women who served in the various Middle East conflicts died over there? I recall reading the military lost more servicemen to motorcycle accidents or maybe it was traffic accidents in non-combat areas over the applicable time period than they did to combat. I in no way intend to diminish the horrors of war or the anguish suffered by those affected, but the odds of being killed in combat have been low.

This is a pretty accurate assessment of the joke that is AF basic training. Before I left in Dec of 1986 I was running nearly everyday and working my ass off to show up in the best shape of my life as I was concerned there’d be some difficult PT involved. There were at least 10 guys in my flight that couldn’t walk up a damn flight of stairs without becoming winded. I will say this though, we did have to qualify once a year with the M-16/AR-15’s eventually. Those that didn’t qualify however were pretty much able to retest until they got through it. Laughable. Today, because I work on a couple of bases in North Florida from time to time the people I see in uniform, especially the women that are so goddamn fat there’s no way in hell they’d survive a serious combat deployment. Most during the 80’s or 90’s would have been generally discharged if they were held to even the most basic of physical fitness standards. The bubble butts and bowling ball heads are everywhere.
Yet he publishes them anyway, or some of them at least – just out of sequence. You think it just takes him a little time to get over his pique before he approves something he doesn’t like? He’s published a couple of my comments that were dissenting opinions and I don’t think he delayed them, or I didn’t check often enough to notice. 44% is about the correct (well, representative) amount. If anything a little high. Schools are now 44% NH white, and though I dont have age cohort figures for the US, the 18-35 age group in the UK is less white than the under 18 age group, largely thanks to most new immigrants being aged 18-35.
If the 18-35 age cohort in the USA is more than 35-40% NH white now, i’d be surprised.
