For months, the Washington Post and the rest of the mainstream media kept a morbid Covid-19 “death count” on their front pages and at the top of their news broadcasts. The coronavirus outbreak was all about the number of dead. The narrative was intended to boost governors like Cuomo in New York and Whitmer in Michigan, who turned their states authoritarian under the false notion that destroying people’s jobs, freedom, and lives would somehow keep a virus from doing what viruses always do: spread through a population until eventually losing strength and dying out.

The “death count” was always the headline.

But then all of a sudden early in June the mainstream media did a George Orwell and lectured us that it is all about “cases” and has always been all about “cases.” Death, and especially infection fatality rate, were irrelevant. Why? Because from the peak in April, deaths had decreased by 90 percent and were continuing to crash. That was not terrifying enough so the media pretended this good news did not exist.

With massive increases in testing, the “case” numbers climbed. This is not rocket science: the more people you test the more “cases” you discover.

Unfortunately our mainstream media is only interested in pushing the “party line.” So the good news that millions more have been exposed while the fatality rate continues to decline – meaning the virus is getting weaker – is buried under hysterical false reporting of “new cases.”

Unfortunately many governors, including our own here in Texas, are incapable of resisting the endless lies of the mainstream media. They are putting Americans again through the nightmare of forced business closures, mandated face masks, and restrictions of Constitutional liberties based on false propaganda.

In Texas the “second wave” propaganda has gotten so bad that the leaders of the four major hospitals in Houston took the extraordinary step late last week of holding a joint press conference to clarify that the scare stories of Houston hospitals being overwhelmed with Covid cases are simply untrue. Dr. Marc Boom of Houston Methodist said the reporting on hospital capacity is misleading. He said, “quite frankly, we’re concerned that there is a level of alarm in the community that is unwarranted right now.”

In fact, there has been much reporting that the “spike” in Texas cases is not due to a resurgence of the virus but to hospital practices of Covid-testing every patient coming in for any procedure at all. If it’s a positive, well that counts as a “Covid hospitalization.” Why would hospitals be so dishonest in their diagnoses? Billions of appropriated Federal dollars are being funneled to facilities based on the number of “Covid cases” they can produce. As I’ve always said, if you subsidize something you get more of it. And that’s why we are getting more Covid cases.

Let’s go back to the original measurements used to scare Americans into giving up their Constitutional liberties: the daily death numbers. Even though we know hospitals have falsely attributed countless deaths to “Covid-19” that were deaths WITH instead of FROM the virus, we are seeing actual deaths steadily declining over the past month and a half. Declining deaths are not a great way to push the “second wave” propaganda, so the media and politicians have moved the goal posts and decided that only “cases” are important. It’s another big lie.

Resist propaganda and defend your liberty. That is the only way we’ll get through this.

  1. Thank you, Dr. Paul. Peak Stupidity noted some numbers in our recent post “Back to COVID Klampdown?” that show no kind of resurgence in deaths either FROM or even WITH this Kung Flu. I guess the Lyin’ Press people figure Americans are not numerate, which is not too bad an assumption, it turns out.

As I wrote a few weeks back, I’ve seen hundreds of black people pulling up to the ghetto-area high school, and this was long after schools were shut. Oh, it’s the weekly 15 meals they still dole out (even during the summer, my boy just told me, wondering what TF was up with that), I figured. Nope, I found out that they were giving out free meals for people who would get tested for the big badass COVID-one-niner. Now, that’s how you get some cases!

I’m told “you just wait a few more weeks before people start dying!” Nah, those black thugs and the antifa Commies do not have any brigades from the local nursing home among them. There won’t be any kind of riot-related resurgence … unfortunately.

  2. Remember all the trolls, and I mean literal paid trolls, working for the neocons, paid a quarter a response trolls, who were all about blaming everything on Wuhan?

    Read this:

So much for Wuhan. Proving that every single one of those China-did-it-ters was a true, paid, lying, propaganda-spreading troll.

Who cares anymore? Shut down the economy again and bankrupt state and local governments, academia and corporate America. Its what the millennials and Generation Z deserve. Make them pay every penny of student loans they took out for their worthless degrees and laugh at them as they are reduced to living in the bushes for the rest of their failed lives.

We know these things, but the two plus generations of stupidity cubed are demanding that we pay their pipers.
I’d guess it’s the G1 parents most ‘at fault’ though, for happily proclaiming that ‘my child is a ‘happy’ student at XYZ Elementary’, et al. It was then that society got onboard with the whole BS that ‘every child is a genius.’
It’s not a coincidence that Bush*t’ I’s ‘1000 points of light’ is nothing but the same thing.

Yes. Key term there–doctor. As in medical doctor with diploma and years of practice.

  6. Yes, I’m very disappointed with the way that Greg Abbott rolled over to County Judges’ hysteria. He had a chance to be a real leader and instead showed himself to be just another sheep.

With these silly unnecessary mask orders, I feel like I’ve been blackballed by society.

Want to go into a store? Need to visit a government office? Better put on your loyalty mask. Oh, you don’t believe this is a crisis and you’re not willing to act scared? You think the data say something different than what us politicians want you to think? Then no public life for you. And be glad we haven’t sent you to the gulag yet.

  7. @Achmed E. Newman

The “from” or “with” C19 are inadequate concepts. The proper concept is “but for”. But for C19 “Tom” would not died. Mary has a heart condition. She is in a car accident & dies. If her heart had an affect on her death, one must ask: but for the accident would Mary have died from her heart condition ?
Same question needs to be asked of all covid fatalities.

  8. @animalogic

I see your logic, this time, A.L., but it’s still complicated. OK, “but for” the COVID-19, this cancer may have been put in remission for a half year, or “but for” the COVID-19, his latest bout of pneumonia may not have killed him, or “but for” the COVID-19, we’d have chalked up this death to those 2 gunshots to the lungs, but then, the Government wants the numbers up, very important for funding, you know, and it’ll be much easier for the billing department this way…

In the first case, yes, the COVID was the immediate cause of death, but without it, there was not much time anyway. In the middle case, it’s hard to say, and in the latter case, it’s pretty obviously a crock.

Regarding your example, that is indeed a tricky one – did she die of impact injuries? Would she have wrecked at all if not for a possible heart attack (both the doctor’s/coroner’s opinion along with the accident investigators*)? Someone has to mark in a box, and there is a lot of persuasion to make this Kung Flu into the current-era Black Plague.

    Thanks for the interesting point.

    * Usually meaning traffic cops, who really don’t know shit about the physics of accidents – “she was traveling southbound in the southbound lane at a high rate of speed… blah, blah, bullshit.”

“The Media Is Lying About the ‘Second Wave’”

Cher -rist! Really? 😛. The statement is both inaccurate and misleading.

Allow me to correct it. How about: “The entire GOVERNMENT is lying about the “Second Wave”” ?

This just in: the MSM _is_ the government, as is Google+Youtube, Facebook, Twitter etc. All they do is parrot exactly what they are told to parrot- so the government feeds them lies, they broadcast it, unquestioned, and all of the pre-programmed idiots swallow it all, hook, line and sinker. Simple. Works every time.

Also: the GOVERNMENT [and its propaganda wing, the MSM], lied about the first wave, so why would anyone with even only half a brain expect them to not lie about any subsequent supposed wave? Answer: “stupid is as stupid does”.

    Regards, onebornfree

  10. America’s libertarian instincts combined with diversity are why we are having so much trouble with this minor pandemic in the first place. In countries run by actual nationalists – like Hungary – patriotic people put on their masks, endured some discomfort for a few months for the greater good, and now things are back on track. The same is true in places like Taiwan and Vietnam where the good of the nation/tribe is understood to be more important than your individual liberty if the two are in conflict.

America’s freedoms make us great at innovation, but a disaster at responding to a common threat.

Ou contraire, mon commentier, we could have used 10 x as many “idiots” that don’t believe the 24/7 Infotainment, and can actually think for their idiotic selves. The response to the virus has been the hoax, Saggy. I guess that difference is too idiotic for your foreign mind to grasp.

We’ve been the ones trying to keep the hinge rotating smoothly, but, from this 2nd Season of this shitshow, I really think we are too far gone.

BTW, Ron Paul is a great American, and you are not fit to wipe the COVID-one-niner off his shoes.

  13. @Peter Akuleyev

That’d be a very important point, Peter, were this thing the modern Black Plague, but I will inform you right here and now, it’s most certainly not. When I start hearing “bring out your dead!” every other Tuesday, between recycling/garbage day and the day the big machine and dump truck come for the leaves and brush, I’ll start paying attention to the information out of Dr. Fauci.

Well, the same question is pertinent for any bug that comes along and takes a few of the immune-compromised along with it. Until covid fatalities have lapped those of the usual bugs many times, I don’t see how the question even gets us anywhere near the alter-public-policy stage.

I have read several strongly-evidence-supported articles suggesting that the Covid-19 pandemic is a hoax, even perhaps a dark farce. I regret that I failed to save copies of those articles — except one, , the premises of which, after my second reading, I continue to find at least plausible. That article is worth scrupulous consideration.

Below is a link that opens an article indicating, near-certainly, that the Italian epidemic was at least partly not one of the Covid-19 of China’s experience.

I have read, but did not save, three other articles reporting evidence indicating that European nations’ year 2020 epidemics involved putative coronaviruses other than the Chinese Covid-19 — two such articles evidencing such year 2020 non-Covid-19 cases occurring in France and one indicating the same of Italian coronavirus cases.

Together, those articles suggest (even if unintentionally) that the “pandemic” is NOT a pandemic, but a set of SARS-type virus outbreaks involving sundry virus-species. One related consideration is whether the sundry viruses’ “successes” have resulted partly, or critically, from epidemiologists’ and government officials’ attempting, foolishly, to treat a single, supposedly unique pathogen though actually sundry different pathogens are at play.
