On April 21st the Washington Post savaged Georgia governor Brian Kemp’s decision to begin opening his state after locking down for weeks. “Georgia leads the race to become America’s No. 1 Death Destination,” sneered the headline.

The author, liberal pundit Dana Milbank, actually found the possibility of Georgians dying to be hilarious, suggesting that, “as a promotion, Georgia could offer ventilators to the first 100 hotel guests to register.”

Milbank, who is obviously still getting paid while millions are out of work, sees his job as pushing the mainstream narrative that we must remain in fear and never question what “experts” like Dr. Fauci tell us.

Well it’s been three weeks since Milbank’s attack on Georgia and its governor, predicting widespread death which he found humorous. His predictions are about as worthless as his character. Not only has Georgia not seen “coronavirus…burn through Georgia like nothing has since William Tecumseh Sherman,” as Milbank laughed, but Covid cases, hospitalizations, and deaths have seen a steep decline since the governor began opening the state.

Maybe getting out in the fresh air and sunshine should not have been prohibited in the first place!

In fact, as we now have much more data, it is becoming increasingly clear that the US states and the countries that locked down the tightest also suffered the highest death rates. Ultra locked-down Italy suffered 495 Covid deaths per million while relatively non-locked down South Korea suffered only five deaths per million. The same is true in the US, where non lockdown states like South Dakota were relatively untouched by the virus while authoritarian-led Michigan, New York, and California have been hardest hit.

In those hardest hit states, we are now seeing that most of the deaths occurred in senior care facilities – after the governors ordered patients sick with Covid to leave the hospitals and return to their facilities. There, they infected their fellow residents who were most likely to have the multiple co-morbidities and advanced age that turned the virus into a death sentence. Will these governors be made to answer for this callous disregard for life?

Yesterday, Health and Human Services Secretary Alex Azar admitted the obvious: “We are seeing that in places that are opening, we’re not seeing this spike in cases.” So why not open everything? Because these petty tyrants cannot stand the idea of losing the ability to push people around.

Shutting down the entire United States over a virus that looks to be less deadly than an average flu virus – particularly among those under 80 who are not already sick – has resulted in mass unemployment and economic destruction. More Americans may die from the wrong-headed efforts to fight the virus than from the virus itself.

Americans should pause and reflect on the lies they are being sold. Masks are just a form of psychological manipulation. Many reputable physicians and scientists have said they are worthless and potentially harmful. Lockdowns are meant to condition people to obey without question. A nation of people who just do what they are told by the “experts” without question is a nation ripe for a descent into total tyranny. This is no empty warning – it’s backed up by history. Time to stand up to all the petty tyrants from our hometowns to Washington DC. It is time to reclaim our freedom.

“Lockdowns are meant to condition people to obey without question. A nation of people who just do what they are told by the “experts” ”

As evidenced by what I observe outside, in the real world, on a daily basis, and by what I also mostly read posted as either idiotic “authoritative” articles here , or as idiotic comments, I have to say : “mission accomplished”. 😷🤮

“The fact is that the average man’s love of liberty is nine-tenths imaginary, exactly like his love of sense, justice and truth. He is not actually happy when free; he is uncomfortable, a bit alarmed, and intolerably lonely. Liberty is not a thing for the great masses of men. It is the exclusive possession of a small and disreputable minority, like knowledge, courage and honor. It takes a special sort of man to understand and enjoy liberty — and he is usually an outlaw in democratic societies.”

    And so it goes…

  3. Thank you, Dr. Paul. Don’t you wish you’d listened to me back in February of ’12 when I told you after shaking hands that you needed to talk about illegal immigration if you wanted to win in [REDACTED]? You’d have been elected easily, and your understanding of freedom and the US Constitution, which beats Donald Trump’s by an infinite amount, would have been so good for this country.

Our country is full of very sick people, but that’s not due to the Kung Flu.

  4. JasonT says:

This bout of COVID-19 clearly amounts to not much more than the seasonal flu. Bungling and downright evil policy including data manipulation and not properly caring for the elderly and sick has led to illusion of a serious health problem.

But remember, as Pompeo said ‘this is a live exercise’. When the next virus is released this fall (or maybe even sooner as people are starting to wake up to the evil in their midst), the virus may be more potent, and for sure the propaganda will go into overdrive like you have never seen before.

    Here is my prediction.

    1. Another viral outbreak in or before Fall of 2020.
    2. Full lockdown and martial law to accompany 1.
    3. Massive propaganda campaign through corrupt mainstream media to accompany 1 and 2.
    3. Many deaths by Spring 2021. mostly due to malnutrition (or outright starvation), depression, suicide and murder, but most of which will be blamed on a coronavirus.
    4. Mass vaccination program to be forced on the public in 2021.
    5. Isolated attempts by isolated pockets of people to resist the lockdown and vaccination program.
    6. Ruthless suppression of said attempts by brain dead police (and military if needed).
    7. Complete collapse of economy leading to massive hunger and anxiety in 2021.
    8. War with China to ‘revive’ economy like in WWII.
    9. Was goes nuclear in 2022 or 2023.
    9. Destruction of U.S.A. (and its lackey countries – Canada, Britain, Australia and New Zealand) in the war followed by famine and starvation.
    10. Scattering of the remaining people of U.S.A. and its lackey countries.
    11. New World Order set up in 2023/2024 based in Europe and China.

Closing all the healthy places for people to go, the beaches and parks with all their fresh air swirling around, and forcing everyone indoors under lockdown has probably caused more sickness rather than less. The clueless politicians rammed this through with no common sense involved at all. The supposed experts that gained the ears of the politicians are looking like incompetent quacks right about now. Britain’s Neil Ferguson, on whose advice they took the actions they did, turns out to have been consistently wrong in the past and may be more than merely mistaken but rather a fraud. Fauci is a prophet of doom and he and others seem to be angling for some expensive vaccine that his friend Gates will push rather than getting on what could work at the present time; no bonanza of money in that. Funny how all these politicians known as “liberal” so readily transform into totalitarian tyrants overnight. Can’t admit they were wrong, they have to double-down on it now.

The scenario blows up at step #2. Quarantine derives from 40 days. Human nature kicks in.

When Trump wins, national martial law is impossible.

The ability state governments to impose martial law, even with National Guard units, is impractical. When the theoretical enforcers disobey orders and take their kids to the beach…. Everybody gets to take their kids to the beach!

    — Spring 2021 — Hillary puts 100,000+ U.S. troops in Ukraine.
    — Fall 2021 — War with Russia over Donbass & Crimea goes total forces. Over 2,000 H-bombs used.
    — Winter 2021 — Nuclear Winter begins mass kill off of life on planet.

Why not use it? The virus came from China. That doesn’t make the term a smear on the whole country, just as the “Hong Kong” Flu wasn’t a smear on Hong Kong. Don’t be stupid on purpose. It was bad enough when you were doing it unintentionally.

Did the virus come from China? Probably. But, even Mr Unz is suspicious of that “probably”.
Incidentally, if you think that “Kung flu” or “wu flu” are not intentional insults against China then you probably have a “tin ear”….

  11. @animalogic

“Even Mr. Unz” is suspicious of a lot of stuff. That doesn’t mean squat to me. I’m not worried about it being erroneously taken as a slight of all the Chinese people. Were a bug to come out of San Francisco and spread around the world, would you be bent out of shape if it were called the Frisco Flu or the Ameriflu?

You are under the impression that the whole world is full of snowflakes such as yourself. That’s not the case.

Nobody DID it, per se, #245. That’s my point. Whatever way it started (my 2 best guesses are it escaped from that Wuhan lab due to the Chinese version of Quality Control, or it got passed on from bats or what-have-you over there) is not the point, at least to me. The point is the Orwellian Police State LOCKDOWN stuff: Is it a plan? What is the goal? Who has been pushing for it? What will be the result?

    – Mr. Kersey hasn’t written specifically about the Kung Flu response, other than as related to his specialty, BRA.

    – Mrs. Malkin has written 3 or 4 great columns on this Police State response to the Kung Flu – pretty much in line with Mr. Whitney’s writing here.

Maybe I’m really “stupid,” but why would anyone go visit the website of someone who’s either dissembling or oblivious?

Mr. Kersey began his March 29 column: “The Coronavirus (COVID-19 or as it should accurately be called, the China Virus) …” In others, he was using strike-throughs of geographically neutral terminology to gratuitously emphasize the point.

Mrs. Malkin in two consecutive columns went out of her way to mention firms with Chinese ownership or operations to conflate them with those engaging in bad acts. If you can’t find them, let me know.

And it was Ms. Mercer who gave you the “Kung Flu.”

But none has done the Chinadidit for a while now. Does that make them “Commies”?

Top of the morning to you Mr. Newman…

I hope this message finds you well…

The point is the Orwellian Police State LOCKDOWN stuff: Is it a plan? What is the goal? Who has been pushing for it? What will be the result?

It seems that some organizations have an agenda and the means to help advance it.

The Rockefeller Foundation seems to have a plan. Check out page 18…

    http://www.nommeraadio.ee/meedia/pdf/RRS/Rockefeller%20Foundation.pdf

The Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations seems to have a goal too…

    http://www.fao.org/3/i3253e/i3253e.pdf

Have you noticed deagel.com and it’s forecast?

    http://www.deagel.com/country/United-States-of-America_c0001.aspx

There is an “explanation” for their forecast at the bottom of this page…

    http://www.deagel.com/country/forecast.aspx

I don’t know who deagel.com is or who is behind it. It could be bullshit.

The Rockefeller Foundation and the United Nations are big players.
They probably know some things that we do not.
More importantly, they help make policy. They help make things happen.

The “lockdown” nonsense and the “contact tracing” seem like fairly ominous developments.

The fact that this is being tested on a global scale, simultaneously, leads me to believe there has been a plan in the works for some time. Weather they merely waited for the right crisis to exploit or released a virus to get the party started… I don’t know.

What will be the result? Time will tell.

Are we headed for an authoritarian followers dream world where we are all tracked and traced and enjoy digital currency, driverless flying cars and no privacy?

    https://www.weforum.org/agenda/2016/11/shopping-i-can-t-really-remember-what-that-is/

    I hope not…

I hope that somehow panicfest leads to positive change.
I dream of a world with more liberty, more freedom, not less.

    Interesting times.

Hope you have a good day.

Unz probably isn’t aware of this article yet.

    https://www.biorxiv.org/content/10.1101/2020.02.07.939207v1.full.pdf

[H]ere we present evidence that nCoV-2019 likely arose from yet another recombined coronavirus in an intermediate host. A dataset describing the viral diversity in Malayan pangolins3 yielded a coronavirus genome that shares 89% nucleotide (Figure 1A and 1B) and 98% amino acid (Figure 1C) identity across the same RBM segment with nCoV-2019. Additionally, the RaTG13 genome only shares one out of five key amino acids involved in receptor binding motif2,whereas the pangolin coronavirus shares all five key residues (Figure 1C). It therefore appears that the RBM in nCoV-2019 was introduced during a recombination event between the strain of coronavirus found in the pangolin and RaTG13. Given the heavy selective pressure under which the RBM is constrained, it is unlikely that RaTG13 acquired the mutations found in the pangolin coronavirus genome through random chance. We posit that the homology at the RBM between nCoV-2019 and a pangolin coronavirus may have arisen from a recombination event based on sequence analysis presented herein.

Nope, I did not get the term “Kung Flu” from Ms. Mercer. I wrote under her columns a good while back a few times, but when she started a Fred Reed number, insulting all her commenters (mostly addressed to those who brought up her background of helping cheer on the ruin of her former land, S. Africa), I’d had it. It was likely from one of Steve Sailer’s commenters that I got the term, as they are the best.

Mr. Kersey did a strike through – SO WHAT? He doesn’t write general articles about the Kung Flu, but only mentions the ridiculous anti-white racist complaints about the Infotainment Panic-Fest. What’s new?

I’ve read all of Mrs. Malkin’s columns. Yes, she brings up the Chinese connection more that I see a reason to. That’s mostly to parry the idiocy about the conspiracy theories on it, that you can also read of right here on unz. So how is that not “China did it” writing? Aren’t you contradicting yourself, or are you a different anonymous. Pick a damn handle, you retards – it doesn’t make you more anonymous to put in “anonymous”!

Mrs. Malkin, along with Dr. Paul here, John Derbyshire (to some degree), Mike Whitney (who I read 2nd-hand is a lefty, unfortunately), and C.J. Hopkins, and the commenters under these writers and Audacious Epigone’s and Steve Sailer’s posts, have done yeoman’s and yeowomen’s work in pointing out the idiocy of this overhyped Panic-Fest that makes America seem like a country run by menopausal women.

Thank you for investigating more than I have the heart and stomach for, Mr. Smith. Like the “Patriot” Act, ready for becoming law conveniently RIGHT AFTER 9/11, it does seem like this has been a great opportunity for ready and available Police State regulation to be pulled out. It’s funny about the China boosters on unz. I’ve had plenty of good things to say about the country, along with the bad, but they are going Orwellian quicker than any nation. (The Brits may be giving them a run for their money, though.)

It’s time for the “act locally” crowd to put their money where their bumper stickers are. I’m not of the type that would have had one of those, but people are going to have to act very soon, locally AND otherwise, or there will not be another chance.

BTW, Steve Sailer seems to be coming around a bit. In his latest post, I excerpted a paragraph of his with my comment basically saying “No shit, Sherlock!”, but it was in nicer words, as I like really do like the guy and his writing.

What does interest me is related to:

What’s different with Covid19 is that it’s become a useful tool for the bankers to drastically expand debt and cover for the loss of jobs and small businesses.

True, but there is a bit more to it. Let’s skip the chat about it; got sick and tired of analyzing “their” moves after they’ve been made. Zero initiative; pure impotent reaction.

I’ve been aware for quite some about the …ahm…cerebral qualities of people who aren’t happy with the current paradigm. No joy there; that’s the fact.

I expect a bit more than that. Much worse, that is.
Which brings me to the point:
What, only, interests me is seeing somebody..anybody….on DR side of the great divide who could do what the opposition has been doing rather well since September last year for their side: predicting what’s going to happen and, more importantly, offering the “deplorables” some solutions.
