Once upon a time it was possible to rely on much of the mainstream media to report on developments more or less objectively, relegating opinion pieces to the editorial page. But that was a long time ago. I remember moving to Washington back in 1976 after many years of New York Times and International Herald Tribune readership, when both those papers still possessed editorial integrity. My first experience of the Washington Post had my head spinning, wondering how front-page stories that allegedly reported the “news” could sink to the level of including editorialized comments from start to finish to place the story in context.

Today, Washington Post style reporting has become the norm and the New York Times, if anything, might possibly be the worst exponent of news that is actually largely unsubstantiated or at best “anonymous” opinion. In the past few weeks, stories about the often-violent social unrest that continues in numerous states have virtually disappeared from sight because the mainstream media has its version of reality, that the demonstrations are legitimate protest that seek to correct “systemic racism.” Likewise, counter-demonstrators are reflexively described as “white supremacists” so they can be dismissed as unreformable racists. Videos of rampaging mobs looting, burning and destroying while also beating and even killed innocent citizens who are trying to protect themselves and their property are not shown or written about to any real extent because such actions are being carried out by the groups that the mainstream media and its political enablers favor.

The hatred of Donald Trump, which certainly to some extent is legitimate if only due to his ignorance and boorishness, has driven a feeding frenzy by the moderate-to liberal media which has made them blind to their own faults. The recent expose by the New York Times on Donald Trump’s taxes might well be considered a new low, with blaring headlines declaring that the president is a tax avoider. It was a theme rapidly picked up and promoted by much of the remainder of the television and print media as well as “public radio” stations like NPR.

But wait a minute. Trump Inc. is a multi-faceted business that includes a great number of smaller entities, not all of which involve real estate per se. Donald Trump, not surprisingly, does not do his own taxes and instead employs teams of accountants and lawyers to do the work for him. They take advantage of every break possible to reduce the taxes paid. Why are there tax breaks for businesses that individual Americans do not enjoy? Because congress approved legislation to make it so. So who is to blame if Donald Trump only paid $750 in tax? Congress, but the media coverage of the issue deliberately made it look like Trump is a tax cheater.

And then there is the question how the Times got the tax returns in the first place. Tax returns are legally protected confidential documents and the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) is obligated to maintain privacy regarding them. Some of the files are currently part of an IRS audit and it just might be that the auditors are the source of the completely illegal leak, but we may never know as the Times is piously declaring “We are not making the records themselves public, because we do not want to jeopardize our sources, who have taken enormous personal risks to help inform the public.” Jacob Hornberger of the Future of Freedom Foundation wryly observes that when it comes to avoiding taxes “I’ll bet that the members of the Times’ editorial board and its big team of reporters and columnists do the same thing. They are just upset that they don’t do it as well as Trump.”

Just as the Israel Firsters in Congress and in the state legislative bodies have had great success in criminalizing any criticism of the Jewish state, the mainstream media’s “fake news” in support of the “woke” crowd agenda has already succeeded in forcing out many alternative voices in the public space. The Times has been a leader in bringing about this departure from “freedom of speech” enshrined in a “free press,” having recently forced the resignation of senior editor James Bennet over the publication of an op-ed written by Senator Tom Cotton. Cotton’s views are certainly not to everyone’s taste, but he provided a reasonable account of how and when federal troops have been used in the past to repress civil unrest, together with a suggestion that they might play that same role in the current context.

This type of “thought control” has been most evident in the media, but it is beginning to dominate in other areas where conversations about policy and rights take place. Universities in particular, which once were bastions of free speech and free thought, are now defining what is acceptable language and behavior even when the alleged perpetrators are neither threatening or abusive.

Recently, a student editor at the University of Wisconsin student newspaper was fired because he dared to write a column that objected to the current anti-police consensus. Washington lawyer Jonathan Turley observes how the case was not unique, how there has been “ …a crackdown on some campuses against conservative columnists and newspapers, including the firing of a conservative student columnist at Syracuse, the public condemnation of a student columnist at Georgetown, and a campaign against one of the oldest conservative student newspapers in the country at Dartmouth. Now, The Badger Herald, a student newspaper at the University of Wisconsin Madison, has dismissed columnist Tripp Grebe after he wrote a column opposing the defunding of police departments.” Ironically, Grebe acknowledged in his op-ed that there is considerable police-initiated brutality and also justified the emergence of black lives matter, but it was not enough to save him.

The worst aspect of the increasing thought control taking place in America’s public space is that it is not only not over, it is increasing. To be sure, to a certain extent the upcoming election is a driver of the process as left and right increasingly man the barricades to support their respective viewpoints. If that were all, it might be considered politics as usual, but unfortunately the process is going well beyond that point. The righteousness exuded by the social justice warriors has apparently given them the mandate to attempt to control what Americans are allowed to think or say while also at the same time upending the common values that have made the country functional. It is a revolution of sorts, and those who object most strongly could well be the first to go to the guillotine.

  1. “The hatred of Donald Trump, which certainly to some extent is legitimate if only due to his ignorance and boorishness, … ”

    Gratuitous slander by PHILIP GIRALDI.

This is something I have been saying for 4 years. All of the TDS sufferers seem to be stuck on the notion that Trump burns the midnight oil swilling Coca-Cola dreaming up ways to fix his tax returns. Never mind the editors and writers at the NY Times, I use an accountant to do my taxes, and have for almost 40 years. The fee is worth my just dumping everything on his desk and picking it up later.

Who reads newspapers, only liberals over the age of 60. About 70 percent of the column inches is covered with advertisements. 30 percent is news and editorials. Why mess around with a big, unwieldy pile of paper when more news, without pages and pages of ads is available in a computer or a tiny phone? Plus the piles of paper accumulate.

Giraldi should read the 1950s archives of the NYSLIMES. The martyr Emmett Till, the martyr Michael King, the womderfulness of school desegregation, the evilness of Whites moving to the suburbs because of beatings robbers car thefts burglaries unsafe public transit because of the migration of the Black Plague, endless articles claiming that black single moms don’t move to northern cities to get better wekfare the horrors of the blacks were treated in the segregated south.

Then foreign affairs; endless praise of the Soviet Union and communist China. Endless scorn of the Soviet occupied nations of E Europe. The subject people’s were all fascists and before that feudal lords and bourgeois factory owners who oppressed the peasants and workers. The oppressed masses magically morphed into fascists who supported the Germans during the war.

The NYSLIMES was such an ardent supporter ofCastro one would think the paper was owned by Castro. the NYSlimes created the Tawana Bradley hoax by featuring Sharpton’s accusation for months, maybe years I don’t remember.

NYSlimes May have been a decent paper at one time but not in the 20th and 21th centuries.

  4. Good of Giraldi to put the issue of Trump’s “tax evasion” into perspective. Trump only paid $750 in taxes, did he? His accountants and lawyers took advantage–properly so–of the tax breaks and “loopholes” the law allows. What businessman doesn’t?

“Just as the Israel Firsters in Congress and in the state legislative bodies have had great success in criminalizing any criticism of the Jewish state, . . .” Giraldi’s got that right. Israel and its lobby wants to stifle any criticism of Israeli criminality. . . .

The comment that Trump only paid “$750” is bs also — that was an addendum to the returns and if you read even the entire NYSlimes article it really doesn’t say this… — he paid a million etc., go read it and do some research before passing on this bs — plus all of his taxes are under review/audit by the IRS and if the deductions are disallowed as to the Real Estate he will pay $100 Million — so peddling this bs is garbage and discredits you as a writer….

The cognitive science’s have taught us that you are the result of the brain circuits that you repeatedly strengthened. So therefore, guard the gates of your mind, like you’d guard anything you consider precious, Yes, Hollywood movies are affecting you. Yes, popular music, (rap, hip hop, etc.) are infecting you. All work to confuse you and make you a victim of a muddled mind, where you will not even be able to determine the simplest of things, for example, as to whether or not a political party that condones the wholesale burning down of private businesses and violent physical attacks against innocent people a legitimate way of persuading you to bend to them? Does a sane person even have to debate such a thing??Does a sane person even have to wonder if the left in this country as now represented by the radicalized democratic party politicians is playing with a full deck?

  15. So who is to blame if Donald Trump only paid $750 in tax? Congress, but the media coverage of the issue deliberately made it look like Trump is a tax cheater.

The Times conveniently ignored Trump’s AMT liability, which was in the millions. Sure, it was paid with credits from prior years, but those were Trump assets nevertheless.

  16. The Trump tax issue, which conveniently surfaces just prior to the election is more than obviously geared towards the masses of whom 95% are susceptible to any combination of ignorance of high commerce and/or envy of the wealthy. So they will believe it or so it is hoped.

Tax avoidance is legal and in a general sense encouraged. Tax evasion is illegal. How many of the mob have made this distinction? Every lumpen smarty pants I have ever come across uses the term “write off’ whenever some discussion of high finance takes place but has 0% understanding of what that entails or how the laws pertaining to the term change yearly and are in fact very complicated. Their eyes gloss over even if you try to explain depreciation tables. But give them a figure of $750 added to Trump’s own self promotion as to being a billionaire and everyone has it figured out.

My question is why doesn’t Trump shut the issue down with a simple statement along the lines of ” Look, my business dealings are very complicated and interrelated. I employ armies of tax lawyers and tax accountants. They give me audited statements and professional advice. If any mistakes were made it would be them going to jail sooner than myself”. I know that this is a simplification but you can’t deal with the public in more than sound bites. Maybe he has but I avoid the MSM like ebola and might have missed his response. I get my dose of current events indirectly from Unz commentary and updates about Wakanda from Tiny Duck.

The mainstream media has always been dishonest. From the “yellow journalism” of the late 1800s and early 1900s to today’s “fake news”, journalism has shown its true (communist) roots.

From the lies about the Spanish-American war to the New York Times’ walter duranty hiding the truth about and denying the artificially engineered and forced communist “famine” in the Ukraine, to the lies about the 1968 Viet Nam communist Tet offensive (a military victory for the South Vietnamese and American troops) reported by walter cronkite as a military defeat, cronkite and his ilk were successful in prolonging the Viet Nam war for years, giving “aid and comfort” to the enemy, who bragged about being supported by the U S media.

Look at NBCs doctoring of GMC truck gas tanks, rigging them to explode, and the deliberate mischaracterization of George Zimmerman’s conversation withe the 911 dispatcher, deleting a key phrase, as well as showing Trayvon Martin as a 12-year-old cherub rather than his more recent “thug” facebook picture.

The media has become a “fifth column” of the government and is not to be trusted.

The CIA has had its hooks in the media since the 1950s. In fact, Hollywood script writers were paid to insert anti-drug messages in their scripts during the “drug hysteria” period of the 1980s through 2000s.

Today, we have “crisis actors” embedded in our government and media, the same “crisis actors” who keep showing up, being used in every (fake) “crisis”. The mainstream media keeps parroting these imposters, thinking that we are stupid, not being able to see through their lies and deceptions.

To our advantage, we now have the internet, which gives the ordinary citizen the ability to see through the deceptions and lies, and the capability to be real “journalists”, quite often getting and reporting the story TRUTHFULLY before the mainstream media.

In fact, there are calls by “mainstream media” to “license” journalists, in an attempt to keep these “citizen journalists” out…twenty years ago, any journalist suggesting such a scheme would have been thrown out, but nowadays…who knows?

Great Scott, what utter rubbish. The US press has been totally controlled since at least before WW I, worse than Pravda and no one noticed …. except …. E. Malynski, writing in 1929

‘The nation which above all others claims to be free and in sovereign command of its own destiny was brainwashed to the hilt. In 1914 any American would have laughed to scorn the idea that in three years time he would be struggling and suffering in France for the sake of affairs which had no connection with those of his own country.

‘And yet, when 1917 came, the same man enlisted enthusiastically. Every soldier whom we happened to interview and questioned as to his personal motives for fighting, invariably replied: ‘we are fighting for democracy’. They were one step ahead of their fellow soldiers from other nations, who went for their own country’s sake.

‘It is only when we realize that France was invaded by hundreds of thousands of inhabitants from Massachusetts, Pennsylvania, Florida, Illinois, Wyoming, California, Louisiana, and subsequently from Ontario, Manitoba, Rhodesia and New South Wales, whose only possible motive was to hasten the triumph of democracy, that we begin to understand something of the power of Israel. The power to stir up a whole nation of solid, egotistical and utilitarian individuals, and to persuade them that their greatest privilege is to set out and get themselves killed at the uttermost ends of the earth, with no hope of gain for themselves or their children and almost without their understanding against or for whom they are fighting, or why, is a simply incredible phenomenon which makes one afraid when one comes to think about it.’

  27. Sean says:

Trump’s Ambassador to Israel is his former tax lawyer. In order to encourage enterprise, the rules were changed so a business person could come back from bankruptcy. Son of an Orthodox rabbi Friedman drove a coach and horses through the newly lenient bankruptcy laws, enabling Trump to bilk his creditors like he always had his contractors. Wall Street distrusted Trump as a result, so he paid a price in the denial of his access to new capital, which may have had an underappreciated effect on his thinking. Anyway those bankruptcy laws have since been been re-tweaked so they encourage productive economic activity rather than gaming the system. Things usually work themselves out like that, not without cost, but for the best. While runway results are possible, there are self correcting mechanisms in play. A company’s failed innovation might mean going irredeemably bust, but its employees don’t die.

The current uproar is the opposite of a communist revolution, being desperate measures to stop Trump by the established power elite spanning both parties. That the major corporate friendly media are agitprop-news supporting Antifa is very telling as to how dangerous the hard Left is thought to be compared to Trump. The Establishment never wanted Trump and were aghast at him winning in 2016, so they are taking the nuclear option of declaring the Republic morally and politically bankrupt. But once Biden is elected (then shunted off stage and replaced with his VP) the Harris Presidency will play the same racially transformative healing role that Obama’s did for Wall Street and the corporations: shattering the white working class.

The real enemy of Trump is the elite and not so elite: most with a degree voted against him. Ordinary whites represent a potentially formidable correlation of forces against the Establishment, Trump has shown signs of coalescing the power of whites into what would be an unbeatable alliance. So the in the WSP the most openly articulating part of the Establishment can be seen to be frantic to destroy him and get back to the Obama method, whereby demands for racial justice are used for keeping whites divided over ethics while hypercapitalist globalisation runs riot.

Trump’s ignorance, arrogance and complete unsuitability for his job are so obvious as to be beyond all rational dispute, but many people still dispute these things because we live in a country full of idiots and nutjobs.

Protip: Calling me an idiot or a nutjob may not be the most effective way to help me embrace your argument. But I guess “pissed-off-and-abrasive” is the default position in 2020.

Is Trump ignorant, arrogant and completely unsuited for the Presidency? Yes. So was Obama. So was Bush. So were probably all of them.

And yet I’m voting for Trump. Does this represent “mindless worship of Trump?” Does my ideological needle have to be pegged maximum-right or maximum-left in your world?

I’m not a one-issue voter, but let’s just look at third-trimester sonograms as an example. We’ve all seen them. These are little people, and the Kamala Krusaders want to chop them up and suction them out right up to the moment of birth. The little guys and gals don’t get asked for their preference in the matter.

This is demonic. I’ve seen the angry faces of Antifa and BLM in the streets, and it feels like they’re possessed. An inchoate rage. I’m still a registered Democrat, but everything about the party these days seems aggressively antithetical to my Christianity.

Labeling someone an anti-Semite for criticizing Israel’s genocide of the Palestinians or merely noting American Jews’ being overwhelmingly, disproportionately represented in the determinants of public opinion responsible for the moral and economic degeneracy taking down our country, we now know, indirectly admits as evidence the unspoken premise that the Jews have never and can never do anything wrong. It is always impermissible to criticize their collective actions–it automatically follows from the first premise–because they are morally perfect and therefore not only above the law, but above criticism as we see in Europe and the US.

If prominent Jews in their own words take credit for the worst butchery in human history that took place in Russia at their hands a century ago, then such acts, because they were committed mainly by Jews, are morally good. England’s national historian, the late Eric Hobsbawm, said as much (as quoted by Robert Conquest). Along the same lines, criticizing debt slavery, communism, Antifa, or pornography are morally impermissible on the grounds such criticism is thinly veiled anti-Semitism. This is so insane that at some point merely saying that no one was responsible for the butchery in Russia and the Ukraine; that nobody is responsible for the world’s debt slavery; or, that no one is responsible for pornography will be criminalized as thinly disguised anti-Semitism.

On the other hand, an empire of lies who’s power base can only be sustained by such lies is as doomed as the dollar. There’s also the not insignificant matter of inadvertently empowering the cretins behind the curtain by referring to The New York Times as if it were the screen in the Wizard of Oz rather than a collection of poorly socialized freaks sitting around a table in New York picking their ears. One year before Jim Comey was immersed in his plot to overthrow Donald Trump, the duly elected President of the United States, a brave Foreign Service Officer at the U.S. Department of State came forward with firsthand information of Hillary Clinton’s rampant abuse of Classified material. The man, a senior State Department diplomat who had served as the acting Ambassador (Chargé d’Affaires) in the Asia Pacific region under President Clinton, also was a veteran of the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War.

The letter from this whistleblower is stunning … It is dated 10 January 2016. You can read it for yourself here starting at page 121. (https://vault.fbi.gov/hillary-r.-clinton/Hillary%20R.%20Clinton%20Part%2023%20of%2041/view%5D I became aware of this letter thanks to the assiduous research and writings of Charles Ortel (he wrote about this recently at the American Thinker). (https://www.americanthinker.com/articles/2020/10/james_comey_and_robert_mueller_have_massive_clinton_foundation_problems.html%5D

The letter explains in great detail how Hillary and her cabal of sychophants used an unclassified system to disseminate Top Secret and Secret intelligence. But the Senior Diplomat did not stop there. He explained carefully and specifically who the FBI needed to interview and the questions they needed to ask. You do not need to take my word for it. Often referred to as “the father of public relations,” Bernays in 1928 published his seminal work, Propaganda, in which he argued that public relations is not a gimmick but a necessity. …
Born in Austria in 1891, the year Sigmund Freud published one of his earliest papers, Bernays was also Freud’s nephew twice over. His mother was Freud’s sister Anna, and his father, Ely Bernays, was the brother of Freud’s wife Martha.

    Enjoy:

Edward Bernays: “The conscious and intelligent manipulation of the organized habits and opinions of the masses is an important element in democratic society. Those who manipulate this unseen mechanism of society constitute an invisible government which is the true ruling power of our country. We are governed, our minds are molded, our tastes formed, and our ideas suggested, largely by men we have never heard of…. It is they who pull the wires that control the public mind.”

    JFK agreed

    Can you support this claim?

I don’t know if he can, but let me give it a shot; even the slimestream media admits to it.:

A diary kept by President John F Kennedy as a young man travelling in Europe, revealing his fascination with Adolf Hitler, is up for auction.

Kennedy, then 28, predicted “Hitler will emerge from the hatred that surrounds him now as one of the most significant figures who ever lived”.

“He had in him the stuff of which legends are made,” he continued.

Kennedy wrote the entry in the summer of 1945 after touring the German dictator’s Bavarian mountain retreat.

    https://www.bbc.com/news/world-us-canada-39371715

    Kennedy was correct.

BTW, all you really need to know is that Hitler was anti-Communist while the punks, FDR and Churchill and their handlers, appeased the *&^%($$!!!

No one with a double digit age and a triple digit IQ would think that they must reflexively side with Trump just because he has a lot of truly awful critics and enemies who often make unfair or outright dishonest criticisms of him

What a refreshing, true statement. I see DJT as a mixed bag. He has done great on some reduction in fed business regulation in my own broadcast world…probably saves me 20 hrs of unnecessary work each quarter. On the other hand he illegally (imo) forced me to destroy property, a bump stock, that BATFE had assured me was perfectly legal at no compensation. Friend of the 2nd A? Perhaps when compared to Commie-enabler Joe. Make Israel Great Again?…not a fan. Was the tax bill good for a lot of people in my family? You bet it was. (I pay slightly more now than before)

I don’t believe in unicorns either.

I have solved this political dilemma in a very direct way: I don’t vote. On Election Day, I stay home. I firmly believe that if you vote, you have no right to complain. Now, some people like to twist that around. They say, ‘If you don’t vote, you have no right to complain,’ but where’s the logic in that? If you vote, and you elect dishonest, incompetent politicians, and they get into office and screw everything up, you are responsible for what they have done. You voted them in. You caused the problem. You have no right to complain. I, on the other hand, who did not vote — who did not even leave the house on Election Day — am in no way responsible for what these politicians have done and have every right to complain about the mess that you created.

So I reluctantly resubscribed to NYT, which I HATE, because just plain factual things I couldn’t find anywhere else. They made me pay 1/4 of what I had been paying when I was subscribed till Sept., and if I hadn’t cancelled I’d still be paying that, of course. iSteve had something to do with the stories that aren’t so political still being useful there, but I don’t read their ridiculous columnists nor most of the articles–I just don’t know where else to get the stories they at least halfway allude to. Maybe they even joined Obama’s private army. If you don’t believe many of the current BLM/Antifa folks were not due to the work of Obama, you’ve got another think coming.

Obama has created his own private army and hidden his ‘soldiers’ in dozens of federal agencies in the form Special Weapons and Tactics (SWAT) teams.

Why would departments such as these need their own SWAT: The Department of Agriculture, the Railroad Retirement Board, the Tennessee Valley Authority, the Office of Personnel Management, the Consumer Product Safety Commission, and the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service?

“Law-enforcement agencies across the U.S., at every level of government, have been blurring the line between police officer and soldier,” writes Radley Balko in his 2013 book Rise of the Warrior Cop. “The war on drugs and, more recently, post-9/11 antiterrorism efforts have created a new figure on the U.S. scene: the warrior cop — armed to the teeth, ready to deal harshly with targeted wrongdoers, and a growing threat to familiar American liberties.”

We are witnessing the militarization of federal agencies — not to mention local police forces – on a grand scale. With great force they raid homes and businesses of non-violent citizens, as we just witnessed with the Cliven Bundy atrocity.

With dozens of SWAT teams now at his hand, Obama has followed in the footsteps of other Marxist tyrants.

In the field of psychology, Germany was light years ahead of anyone else in the world at that time and in fact, this was true of most areas of human knowledge. If you had the means, or your parents did and wanted a first class education , you sent your kids to the Germany of that time. Today, this is hardly the case and most perceptive people know why.

In India the slum dwellers are suffering from the pandemic far less than anyone expected, but the Indian elite, who have far less crowded and unhygienic living conditions, are being hard hit by COVID-19. All his life, Trump has practiced anti-infective measures to an extremely high standard, which entailed his long known dislike of shaking hands with anyone.. Karl Friston is suggesting 40-60% of people who have not been exposed to SARS-CoV-2 have immune T-cells from other similar infections (like the common cold) that are effective against COVID-19. Trump may have overprotected himself against lesser pathogens, and got bitten by the bug as a result. Biden’s isolation has been extreme, a bout with COVID-19 on top of his ongoing aging out and variegated medical history will see him swiftly debilitated after taking office.

The SJW are deep down Lamarckians who believe poor whites (‘Rednecks’) have failed to improve despite hundreds of year of the favourable environment for evolution provided as a birthright to all born in America as white. Black are not written of in the way Rednecks are because blacks are thought to never have been given a fair chance. Accordingly, Blacks can more easily tap into nice white college graduate people’s reservoir of sympathy than poverty prone whites (who were the main target of 1930s US eugenics) as evidenced by the numerous destitute people from West Virginia ECT that the Soft White Underbelly channel featured without incident, and the massive charitable giving by viewers when the story was of a black prostitute.

Sean: You correctly pointed out the most plangent problem areas in the American populace. There is something about holding a college or university degree, particularly a “masters” or the one in which the elitist programming gets Piled Higher and Dryer.

Personally, one of my few levels of almost egotistic pride is the fact that I am and shall remain 5 credits short of a bachelors honors degree in history. The year was 1968 and with the help of cannabis and other psychoactive substances, along with the Vietnam war which was all about ungodly profits for the WarDefense industry along with Big Oil (think the Rockefeller Crime Clan) a large number of young Americans became disabused of the bullshit. The institution I had been–for the most part–attending was a major land-grant university and at that time edjumakating the largest student body on a single campus.

Perhaps in the hard sciences, as opposed to liberal arts programming and the so-called “soft” sciences such as psychology and economics, was capable of turning out economically utilitarian minions for the establishment. Most liberal arts grads and post-graduates, by my reckoning, became administrative bureaucrats, whether in the corporate world, burgeoning federal and state governments and in considerable numbers, as educators in publicly supported institutions.

Institutionalization from kindergarten years clear on through post-grad programs, has a way of eviscerating and bleaching out elementary common sense among a majority of individuals and has had a particularly devastating effect on females of the opposite sex. Among the male victims of this long-term programming a serious aversion develops towards working with one’s hands, or entering into useful trades.

As a creative artist and having occasionally accused of being an intellectual; I am adamantly opposed to the universalization of abstract thought and value systems. Living in an objectively evaluated insane culture, where virtually every major human interaction is all about money madness and the materialist mantras which constantly and continually intertwine with an ideology which devalues the natural world; is enervating and exasperating, as the masses of the American people suffer from a totally skewed sense of reality.

Common sense is mostly found among country folk and those who work with their hands. Street sense is a prevailing meme amongst urbanites. However, more than half the public lives in suburbs. Think SUB-urban–or not quite urban (certainly not urbane) and living the Normie and Norma unreality of chemically-treated lawns and absent of quiet rest and rejuvenation which are markers of country living.

Nowadays, third and fourth generation suburbanites are some of the most clueless people in the entire world. Taco-chipped and double-dipped, they fritter their time away in a highly abstract game world and on social-media sites…and all too many of them consider themselves as “woke”.

In the 1960’s and into the ’70’s, major metropolitan dailies did include genuine, objective-minded journalists who tended to bring to the table some of their own perspectives which they managed to interlace into their coverage and columns. It was not pure objectivity but it was not monolithic, “on message” stenography for the corporate state. Competition in the marketplace of ideas did play a considerable role as “scoops” and insightful essays were often followed by the readership and considered marks of distinction.

Perhaps the most dominant factor in the destruction of old-fashioned journalism was the growing fascination with boobtoob noose. I recall vividly the days of Walter Crankcase and the Huntley and Brinkley duo. They were gifted actors and powerful communicators. When the Vietnam War developed, Americans glued themselves to the one-eyed god on a daily basis. That set the tone. The fallout took perhaps a generation, but ultimately the boobtoob replaced quality journalism largely due to the story-telling quality of the presentations along with the fact that one could sit in the easy chair and drink a beer while becoming a consumer of carefully calculated propaganda as developed by Edward Bernays and his mentor Walter Lippmann. Need I note their ethnicity?

Fair point about who actually does the tax returns, but the instant someone puts his John Hancock on the return, that individual is, with very limited exceptions, fully responsible for what information appears on the return.

Thus, if the accountants & lawyers did it right, Trump has no worries (except for bad publicity). If they erred, Trump is still responsible for the balance plus penalties and interest (and the bad publicity). If they lied, whether on their own or at Trump’s direction, Trump is still responsible and could also face tax fraud charges.

The fact is that everyone’s tax returns should be private between themselves and the IRS, and no one else should be entitled to know anything about them – not the press/public or political opponents. Finding discrepancies or fraud is the responsibility of the IRS, no one else.

However, as was most recently made abundantly clear under the Obama administration, the IRS, just like every other gov’t agency, has been a politicized cesspool for many, many decades. No part of the “establishment” – not any agency of the gov’t, not the press, not any “non-partisan” organization, etc. – is “clean” enough to be trusted with any of this.

This is just one consequence of the people having tolerated deeply entrenched systemic corruption within our national institutions, both public and private, for so long.

I’ve tried to watch Sam Harris on occasion but I eventually turn him off because I get the impression he’s a snake and doesn’t believe his own BS.

Peterson is only rational when he’s on a free speech rant and then he’s excellent. I’m impressed by his cool headed approach to obviously rabid interviewers and how he always manages to show them up for the fools they are. I’ve tried watching his classroom nonsense when he’s using his vast knowledge of bullshitology but can only stomach a few minutes of it.

Well only after I realized what the correct concept of God is, having been a rabid atheist all my life, did I become a believer in him/it a few years ago.

Jordan Peterson helped me with a few viewpoints (1) I didn’t consider myself before. A recorded talk shook me where an Orthodox Archpriest stated: “…others have a God of power, but the Christian is a God of weakness.”
But Augusto Del Noce really opened my eyes. I hadn’t fallen for Positivism that much as I always sensed the superficiality, but ‘mistrust of all authority’, and even more ‘dependency on nothing (2)’ – those had really gotten me (as “ideas have people”, not the other way ’round.)

    Notes:
    (1) Unparalleled in my opinion is

    (2) That is actually the key Marxist fundamental proposition, read Del Noce.

I saw that vidya. Did not come close to “beating” her. There was a whole gaggle of yoots around during said incident. Mood was playful.

Is this all fakenews has got?

Thanks again, St Kyle. Two pedophiles are gone and a third turd is learning to wank with his last unshot arm.

I’ve noticed that college grads are much more brainwashed and susceptible to propaganda than non college grads. And the more prestigious their college supposedly is, the more brainwashed they are.

Wonderful post thank you. Education, particularly college is just liberal brainwashing.

Society needs to figure out a better holding pen for 12 to 30 year olds. No jobs, due to immigration and outsourcing everything.

When universities are handing out degrees for becoming fluent in nonsense like economics, philosophy, sociology, psychiatry and many other fields of pure opinion, their graduates are sure to be lacking critical thinking skills.

I had one commenter on this site claim that there’s proof by consensus; a more ludicrous concept is hard to imagine.

With warped minds that are unable to tell truth from falsehood, all manner of ridiculous thinking becomes not only possible but probable. The entire left is brain damaged via higher education and needs to be institutionalized, but not in positions of authority.

This is how thought control american style actually works:

How rock star Roger Waters was hung out to dry by Amnesty and Bellingcat for his views on Syrian ‘chemical attack’

    https://www.rt.com/op-ed/503461-roger-waters-douma-syria/

“A leaked recording of a September 25 phone call between Waters and two senior staffers at Amnesty International USA – Matt Vogel, head of artist relations, and Tamara Draut, chief impact officer – sheds fascinating light on the episode.

At the start of the conversation, Waters recalls he was not only informed Amnesty would promote the panel discussion on Twitter in advance, but also personally retweeted the endorsement so it reached his circa 375,000 followers at the organization’s express request.

However, an associate informed him just before the webinar began that they couldn’t locate the post. When the talk was over, he went about getting to the bottom of the tweet’s absence.

Seeking answers, he attempted to reach out to Amnesty, but was repeatedly stonewalled before finally being put in touch with Vogel and Draut.

In response, Draut confirmed that the tweet’s removal was indeed prompted by a “difference of opinion” on the White Helmets. “We believe they’re really champions for human rights, and have fought for their protection and freedom. When the tweet went up on our end, it wasn’t fully vetted as it should’ve been, and immediately we heard from folks in the White Helmets, asking why we were promoting you, due to comments you’ve made about them. We also heard from other Syrian human rights activists, who were quite hurt by our support of you…” she began, before Waters interrupts, asking what relevance his views on the group has to “the plight of rainforest dwellers in northern Ecuador.”

“People interpreted our promotion of an event at which you were speaking as promoting your position on the White Helmets. I got involved in this process too late, I wouldn’t have taken down the tweet, that’s not the policy I like to follow, I would’ve much rather dealt with this openly and honestly…” Draut explains.

Waters made headlines the world over in April 2018, when he stopped mid-set during a concert in Barcelona to talk about a chemical weapons attack in Douma, Syria, which had allegedly taken place six days earlier.

Branding the White Helmets a “fake organization” creating “propaganda for jihadists and terrorists,” he suggested that Western public opinion was being manipulated in order that “we would be encouraged to encourage our governments to go and start dropping bombs on people.” Mere hours later, his prediction came to pass, as France, the UK and US carried out a series of military strikes against multiple government sites in the country.

Back on the call, an indignant Waters cites a since-deleted tweet from Eliot Higgins, which stated that Amnesty International “needs to explain why Roger Waters is an appropriate person to talk about human rights.” Rather than responding constructively to the question, the organization opted to simply yield to critical pressure.

Waters said: “Why am I an appropriate person? Because I’ve been a great advocate for human rights all my life. The White Helmets were clearly involved in something really dodgy. Amnesty has never come out and said, ‘It’s been brought to our attention the video the White Helmets made in Douma was absolutely fake.’

“Doctors there have said not only were there no deaths that we know about that day, but the people in the hospital were complaining of dust inhalation, not being gassed. Do you still believe that video, do you believe that was real?”

Draut responded: “I appreciate your desire to defend your opinion, I don’t think it’s productive… all I can tell you is you asked why the tweet was taken down, and it was taken down because of the immediate backlash we received, which is in direct opposition to our position on the White Helmets, and is very hurtful… the position of Amnesty wasn’t that you don’t have any right or expertise or commitment to human rights to speak on that panel.”

Waters then countered: “Why didn’t you explain why I am an appropriate person, and say you weren’t going to delete the tweet, because the webinar was important?!

“When I was growing up, you pretended to care about human rights – you’ve demonstrated to me in this conversation that you don’t, particularly by refusing to answer my simple question about the video made by the White Helmets in Douma!” he said.

“So this is just a blacklisting of me?! This is you blacklisting me on the basis of evidence given by a scumbag like Eliot Higgins! That’s what you’re telling me now!” Waters contended.

“You’ve made a special exception in my case?! To blacklist me, and take a tweet mentioning me down, on the basis of trolls sending in their negative feelings about me – because I don’t subscribe to their opinions about regime change in Syria, and the non-existent chemical attack in Douma, Amnesty International will blacklist me and prevent me from acting for the people of Ecuador, in my capacity as a human rights activist. Wow! What a terrible indictment of your organization, if you don’t mind me saying!”

A little bit of an excellent article. Shows what a fraud amnesty is, as opposed to their false zionazi-nazi media portrayal as a legit outfit. The zionazi-gay media will not cover any dissension of their massa’s policies, except to smear those critical when the ignore routine fails.

I’ve been audited myself, fines levied, etc and am well aware of all that. In my case, my a decision had been made to re-interpret something that was previously considered a reasonable re-imbursement for expenses, into income. My employer had been audited and found not to include it as income. That led to my and several co-workers being audited. My accountant worked on the basis that the employer had provided the correct information. Didn’t matter to the tax guys, I had filed a false return. In the end, I finally managed to get the fines dropped when my (well connected) accountant threatened to report the dickhead government accountant in charge of my file to their governing body for discrediting the “profession”.
Here is another example of the “problem” of doing it right. About 35 years I was mildly acquainted with a local property developer who was being charged with tax evasion on the purchase and sale of properties. The media treated it like he committed armed robbery and was captured after a shoot out. I ran into him and his wife at a garden center and he began to complain about the “guilty” verdict. The case was involved 2 properties. He and his accountants did the same thing for both properties in respect of buying, renovating, and selling which was his knock-off formula. He was found guilty for one of the properties, but not guilty for the other. His rhetorical question was basically WTF do I do now? Either I’m guilty for both or not guilty for both. If I do the same again, will I be charged or not?
Decision makers in taxation departments are neither civil, nor servants.
