The narrative that the Beirut explosion was an exclusive consequence of negligence and corruption by the current Lebanese government is now set in stone, at least in the Atlanticist sphere.

And yet, digging deeper, we find that negligence and corruption may have been fully exploited, via sabotage, to engineer it.

Lebanon is prime John Le Carré territory. A multinational den of spies of all shades – House of Saud agents, Zionist operatives, “moderate rebel” weaponizers, Hezbollah intellectuals, debauched Arab “royalty,” self-glorified smugglers – in a context of full spectrum economic disaster afflicting a member of the Axis of Resistance, a perennial target of Israel alongside Syria and Iran.

As if this were not volcanic enough, into the tragedy stepped President Trump to muddy the – already contaminated – Eastern Mediterranean waters. Briefed by “our great generals,” Trump on Tuesday said: “According to them – they would know better than I would – but they seem to think it was an attack.”

Trump added, “it was a bomb of some kind.”

Was this incandescent remark letting the cat out of the bag by revealing classified information? Or was the President launching another non sequitur?

Trump eventually walked his comments back after the Pentagon declined to confirm his claim about what the “generals” had said and his defense secretary, Mark Esper, supported the accident explanation for the blast.

It’s yet another graphic illustration of the war engulfing the Beltway. Trump: attack. Pentagon: accident. “I don’t think anybody can say right now,” Trump said on Wednesday. “I’ve heard it both ways.”

Still, it’s worth noting a report by Iran’s Mehr News Agency that four US Navy reconnaissance planes were spotted near Beirut at the time of the blasts. Is US intel aware of what really happened all along the spectrum of possibilities?

That ammonium nitrate

Security at Beirut’s port – the nation’s prime economic hub – would have to be considered a top priority. But to adapt a line from Roman Polanski’s Chinatown: “Forget it, Jake. It’s Beirut.”

Those by now iconic 2,750 tons of ammonium nitrate arrived in Beirut in September 2013 on board the Rhosus, a ship under Moldovan flag sailing from Batumi in Georgia to Mozambique. Rhosus ended up being impounded by Beirut’s Port State Control.

Subsequently the ship was de facto abandoned by its owner, shady businessman Igor Grechushkin, born in Russia and a resident of Cyprus, who suspiciously “lost interest” in his relatively precious cargo, not even trying to sell it, dumping style, to pay off his debts.

Grechushkin never paid his crew, who barely survived for several months before being repatriated on humanitarian grounds. The Cypriot government confirmed there was no request to Interpol from Lebanon to arrest him. The whole op feels like a cover – with the real recipients of the ammonium nitrate possibly being “moderate rebels” in Syria who use it to make IEDs and equip suicide trucks, such as the one that demolished the Al Kindi hospital in Aleppo.

The 2,750 tons – packed in 1-ton bags labeled “Nitroprill HD” – were transferred to the Hangar 12 warehouse by the quayside. What followed was an astonishing case of serial negligence.

From 2014 to 2017 letters from customs officials – a series of them – as well as proposed options to get rid of the dangerous cargo, exporting it or otherwise selling it, were simply ignored. Every time they tried to get a legal decision to dispose of the cargo, they got no answer from the Lebanese judiciary.

When Lebanese Prime Minister Hassan Diab now proclaims, “Those responsible will pay the price,” context is absolutely essential.

Neither the prime minister nor the president nor any of the cabinet ministers knew that the ammonium nitrate was stored in Hangar 12, former Iranian diplomat Amir Mousavi, the director of the Center for Strategic Studies and International Relations in Tehran, confirms. We’re talking about a massive IED, placed mid-city.

The bureaucracy at Beirut’s port and the mafias who are actually in charge are closely linked to, among others, the al-Mostaqbal faction, which is led by former Prime Minister Saad al-Hariri, himself fully backed by the House of Saud.

The immensely corrupt Hariri was removed from power in October 2019 amid serious protests. His cronies “disappeared” at least $20 billion from Lebanon’s treasury – which seriously aggravated the nation’s currency crisis.

No wonder the current government – where we have Prime Minister Diab backed by Hezbollah – had not been informed about the ammonium nitrate.

Ammonium nitrate is quite stable, making it one of the safest explosives used in mining. Fire normally won’t set it off. It becomes highly explosive only if contaminated – for instance by oil – or heated to a point where it undergoes chemical changes that produce a sort of impermeable cocoon around it in which oxygen can build up to a dangerous level where an ignition can cause an explosion.

Why, after sleeping in Hangar 12 for seven years, did this pile suddenly feel an itch to explode?

So far, the prime straight to the point explanation, by Middle East expert Elijah Magnier, points to the tragedy being “sparked” – literally – by a clueless blacksmith with a blowtorch operating quite close to the unsecured ammonium nitrate. Unsecured due, once again, to negligence and corruption – or as part of an intentional “mistake” anticipating the possibility of a future blast.

This scenario, though, does not explain the initial “fireworks” explosion. And certainly does not explain what no one – at least in the West – is talking about: the deliberate fires set to an Iranian market in Ajam in the UAE, and also to a series of food/agricultural warehouses in Najaf, Iraq, immediately after the Beirut tragedy.

Follow the money

ORDER IT NOW

Lebanon – boasting assets and real estate worth trillions of dollars – is a juicy peach for global finance vultures. To grab these assets at rock bottom prices, in the middle of the New Great Depression, is simply irresistible. In parallel, the IMF vulture would embark on full shakedown mode and finally “forgive” some of Beirut’s debts as long as a harsh variation of “structural adjustment” is imposed.

Who profits, in this case, are the geopolitical and geoeconomic interests of US, Saudi Arabia and France. It’s no accident that President Macron, a dutiful Rothschild servant, arrived in Beirut Thursday to pledge Paris neocolonial “support” and all but impose, like a Viceroy, a comprehensive set of “reforms”. A Monty Python-infused dialogue, complete with heavy French accent, might have followed along these lines: “We want to buy your port.” “It’s not for sale.” “Oh, what a pity, an accident just happened.”

Already a month ago the IMF was “warning” that “implosion” in Lebanon was “accelerating.” Prime Minister Diab had to accept the proverbial “offer you can’t refuse” and thus “unlock billions of dollars in donor funds.” Or else. The non-stop run on the Lebanese currency, for over a year now, was just a – relatively polite – warning.

This is happening amid a massive global asset grab characterized in the larger context by American GDP down by almost 40%, arrays of bankruptcies, a handful of billionaires amassing unbelievable profits and too-big-to-fail megabanks duly bailed out with a tsunami of free money.

Dag Detter, a Swedish financier, and Nasser Saidi, a former Lebanese minister and central bank vice governor, suggest that the nation’s assets be placed in a national wealth fund. Juicy assets include Electricité du Liban (EDL), water utilities, airports, the MEA airline , telecom company OGERO, the Casino du Liban.

EDL, for instance, is responsible for 30% of Beirut’s budget deficit.

That’s not nearly enough for the IMF and Western mega banks. They want to gobble up the whole thing, plus a lot of real estate.

“The economic value of public real estate can be worth at least as much as GDP and often several times the value of the operational part of any portfolio,” say Detter and Saidi.

Who’s feeling the shockwaves?

Once again, Israel is the proverbial elephant in a room now widely depicted by Western corporate media as “Lebanon’s Chernobyl.”

A scenario like the Beirut catastrophe has been linked to Israeli plans since February 2016.

Israel did admit that Hangar 12 was not a Hezbollah weapons storage unit. Yet, crucially, on the same day of the Beirut blast, and following a series of suspicious explosions in Iran and high tension in the Syria-Israeli border, Prime Minister Netanyahu tweeted , in the present tense: “We hit a cell and now we hit the dispatchers. We will do what is necessary in order to defend ourselves. I suggest to all of them, including Hezbollah, to consider this.”

That ties in with the intent, openly proclaimed late last week, to bomb Lebanese infrastructure if Hezbollah harms Israeli Defense Forces soldiers or Israeli civilians.

A headline – “Beirut Blast Shockwaves Will Be Felt by Hezbollah for a Long Time” – confirms that the only thing that matters for Tel Aviv is to profit from the tragedy to demonize Hezbollah, and by association, Iran. That ties in with the US Congress “Countering Hezbollah in Lebanon’s Military Act of 2019” {S.1886}, which all but orders Beirut to expel Hezbollah from Lebanon.

And yet Israel has been strangely subdued.

Muddying the waters even more, Saudi intel – which has access to Mossad, and demonizes Hezbollah way more than Israel – steps in. All the intel ops I talked to refuse to go on the record, considering the extreme sensitivity of the subject.

Still, it must be stressed that a Saudi intel source whose stock in trade is frequent information exchanges with the Mossad, asserts that the original target was Hezbollah missiles stored in Beirut’s port. His story is that Prime Minister Netanyahu was about to take credit for the strike – following up on his tweet. But then the Mossad realized the op had turned horribly wrong and metastasized into a major catastrophe.

The problem starts with the fact this was not a Hezbollah weapons depot – as even Israel admitted. When weapons depots are blown up, there’s a primary explosion followed by several smaller explosions, something that could last for days. That’s not what happened in Beirut. The initial explosion was followed by a massive second blast – almost certainly a major chemical explosion – and then there was silence.

Thierry Meyssan, very close to Syrian intel, advances the possibility that the “attack” was carried out with an unknown weapon, a missile -– and not a nuclear bomb – tested in Syria in January 2020. (The test is shown in an attached video.) Neither Syria nor Iran ever made a reference to this unknown weapon, and I got no confirmation about its existence.

Assuming Beirut port was hit by an “unknown weapon,” President Trump may have told the truth: It was an “attack”. And that would explain why Netanyahu, contemplating the devastation in Beirut, decided that Israel would need to maintain a very low profile.

Watch that camel in motion

The Beirut explosion at first sight might be seen as a deadly blow against the Belt and Road Initiative, considering that China regards the connectivity between Iran, Iraq, Syria and Lebanon as the cornerstone of the Southwest Asia Belt and Road corridor.

Yet that may backfire – badly. China and Iran are already positioning themselves as the go-to investors post-blast, in sharp contrast with the IMF hit men, and as advised by Hezbollah Secretary-General Nasrallah only a few weeks ago.

Syria and Iran are in the forefront of providing aid to Lebanon. Tehran is sending an emergency hospital, food packages, medicine and medical equipment. Syria opened its borders with Lebanon, dispatched medical teams and is receiving patients from Beirut’s hospitals.

It’s always important to keep in mind that the “attack” (Trump) on Beirut’s port destroyed Lebanon’s main grain silo, apart from engineering the total destruction of the port – the nation’s key trade lifeline.

That would fit into a strategy of starving Lebanon. On the same day Lebanon became to a great extent dependent on Syria for food – as it now carries only a month’s supply of wheat – the US attacked silos in Syria.

Syria is a huge exporter of organic wheat. And that’s why the US routinely targets Syrian silos and burns its crops – attempting also to starve Syria and force Damascus, already under harsh sanctions, to spend badly needed funds to buy food

ORDER IT NOW

In stark contrast to the interests of the US/France/Saudi axis, Plan A for Lebanon would be to progressively drop out of the US-France stranglehold and head straight into Belt and Road as well as the Shanghai Cooperation Organization. Go East, the Eurasian way. The port and even a great deal of the devastated city, in the medium term, can be quickly and professionally rebuilt by Chinese investment. The Chinese are specialists in port construction and management.

This avowedly optimistic scenario would imply a purge of the hyper-wealthy, corrupt weapons/drugs/real estate scoundrels of Lebanon’s plutocracy – which in any case scurry away to their tony Paris apartments at the first sign of trouble.

Couple that with Hezbollah’s very successful social welfare system – which I saw for myself at work last year – having a shot at winning the confidence of the impoverished middle classes and thus becoming the core of the reconstruction.

It will be a Sisyphean struggle. But compare this situation with the Empire of Chaos – which needs chaos everywhere, especially across Eurasia, to cover for the coming, Mad Max chaos inside the US.

General Wesley Clark’s notorious 7 countries in 5 years once again come to mind – and Lebanon remains one of those 7 countries. The Lebanese lira may have collapsed; most Lebanese may be completely broke; and now Beirut is semi-devastated. That may be the straw breaking the camel’s back – releasing the camel to the freedom of finally retracing its steps back to Asia along the New Silk Roads.

Sure Israel benefits but sometimes accidents are just accidents and involve no intrigue or skullduggery. Fireworks stored next to a warehouse full of ammonium nitrate is a disaster waiting to happen. It finally did. Building storing fireworks catches fire, explodes and, 33 seconds later, so does the warehouse full of ammonium nitrate.

  3. To be sure it was stupid to store Ammonium nitrate in that warehouse but the big question is what was used to detonate the fertilizer?

As stated it is usually stable and needs the addition of a reducer to explode. In the video before the massive blast we see many white flashes inside the warehouse. What are these flashes that some have described as fireworks? I find it very doubtful that they would store fireworks in the same building as the fertilizer. I suspect explosives such as C4 or Thermite were placed inside the building.

Israeli Navy SEALS could have planted the explosives or perhaps agents for Israel living in Beirut. I don’t believe a missile was used as that would be to obvious. Also I don’t buy the theory that Israel made a mistake and targeted the wrong building. You can be sure Israeli intel knew what was in the building and have known for years.

I find it very strange that the Russian born businessman abandoned this shipment. Was that the plan all along? To park fertilizer in the Beirut port to be exploited later on by Israel? Is this Russian born businessman working for Israel? Is he Jewish by any chance?

I read the book, Team of Vipers, regarding Trump and several others about his character. The solid thread running through all the analysis of his personality was that he has no filter.

All of the books, even ones that admired him , wrote extensively that he had to be frantically coached not to reveal classified or sensitive information. Most likely, Trump said it was an attack because he had just been briefed as such.

Those off the cuff remarks, naked with no spin, are one of the reasons he makes the old D.C. bulls so angry.

  11. With his usual thoroughgoing research, numerous contacts and savoir-faire, Pepe Escobar joins Taxi in throwing more light on this subject. Curiously, he concludes that this operation may become the straw that breaks the camel’s back–a reference I made earlier today on Taxi’s essay. The Judeocracy is getting more and more exposed and the Rothschild controlled IMF, World Bank and Bank of Zinternational Settlements may get a case of egg foo young flipped in their faces.

Methinks that the powers that have been for all too long have grossly overextended themselves with this outrage. France’s Macaronio made a perfect fool of himself hieing off to Beirut to reimpose Franco-Rothschild/Lazard Freres financial imperialism once again over the people of Lebanon. President Michel Aoun not so politely showed him the door.

With massive demonstrations and riots, breaking up government buildings and all…perhaps the people of Lebanon will take it upon themselves to rid the world of their corrupted quisling agents of alien interests. It is my hope that wiser heads will prevail and prevent the internecine warfare which so wracked that long-suffering land in the 80’s. Hezbollah will once again need to act on behalf of their nation–in full cooperation with sensible Sunnis and cooperative Christians. This time is a great testing for that ancient land of the Phoenicians.

You know Israel and US intelligence knew about the ammonium nitrate. They work together. How they executed the explosion that caused the AN to detonate is a technical issue of no importance, but both clearly benefit. Lots of oil and gas off the coast, and its proximity to Syria make it a prize worth having.

Sanctions , COVID, famine, economic collapse, and the country will break apart from within and Israel will jump on them when the time is right. Alternatively we may just capture them financially with IMF loans having all kinds of strings attached knowing they cant be paid back. Lebanons wealth (oil and gas) and other resources/infrastructure will then be looted like Russias/FSU and used to prop up the US economy and Trumps/Kushner’s real estate property

Any credence to Gordon Duff’s article in VT which claims the blast was caused by a nuke-tipped missile delivered by the Israelis? He includes a large number of thermal images purporting to clearly show an incoming missile just before it hits its target in the port of Beirut. He says the evidence had been posted on YouTube, Twitter and Facebook before being taken down at the behest of the Israeli government which clearly gives orders to everyone in the communications industry.

    https://www.veteranstoday.com/2020/08/07/breathtaking-case-closed-infrared-video-reveals-details-of-israeli-nuclear-missile/

This could well be a trigger that Israel has decided to use to force the war against its constellation of blood enemies in the Middle East (Iran, Syria and Lebanon, and maybe Iraq for good measure) that it has sought for quite a while and which they are desperate to precipitate before Trump is voted out of office and/or before Netanyahoo is convicted of felonies and removed from government. They are hoping that saner heads will NOT prevail and that some hot-headed faction in Beirut (preferably Hezballah, who will be blamed in any case) will take potshots at the Promised Land granting them carte blanche to “defend” themselves with scorched earth “retaliation” and more occupation of Arab land.

A public call by the United States government for regime change in Lebanon subsequent to the public rioting that has ensued in Beirut after the blast has all the appearances of their signature move to foment coups and revolutions after staging false flags or otherwise raising hell in some targeted society. My own gut feeling, whether a tactical battlefield nuke was used or not, is that Washington and West Jerusalem are yet again ganging up to wipe the floor with all of the Islamic Middle East not yet supine vassal states. Trump and Adelson might even think the gambit will get Bad Orange Man re-elected (as if enthusiastic warmongering is what American voters look for in a leader). Insiders say they have been bickering or brainstorming about something.

Since Texas City 1946 AN for fertilizer purposes is usually handled in stabilized form (“NitraMoncal 33” etc.).
If it was “prilled” (a special drying process to increase porosity), it was intended as explosive.
It does not take terribly much to ignite it – a minute amount of chlorate weed killer (also used in fireworks), moisture and time.
The red cloud is consistent with incomplete detonation (“blowout”) of a nitro compound.

I wouldn´t put it beyond the Israelis, but I don´t see a smoking gun either.

There is much talk about a ‘nuclear weapon’ with the mushroom cloud in Beirut, but in fact mushroom clouds are quite common in chemical explosions as often occur in factories, and it is actually well proven that Hiroshima was napalmed like Tokyo, there were no ‘nuclear bombs’ used in 1945, so that nuclear weapons in general may be a giant hoax of governments stealing trillions and terrorising world citizens

Trump is a serial con man that cannot be trusted to reveal truths of any sort other than he wants to have sexual intercourse with his daughter Ivanka.

Factually, America’s generals are not ‘great’ at anything other than pilfering American taxpayer dollars. Trump lied when he stated the ‘generals were great’. Moreover, Trump promised he would make America great again so he just crowned American ‘generals’ as ‘great’ instead of actually doing what he said he would do.

The Mad Max chaos is likely baked into the WEF “reset” that Biden promises will include punishing new taxes on the middle-class and an end to capitalism, which in the latter case means expropriation of shareholder interest in American industry held by private and public pension plans to the tune of about $30 trillion*. Energy Minister Raymond Ghajar stated days before that Lebanon was not planning on buying Iranian oil, in an apparent response to the proposal made by the Hezbollah chief Hasan Nasrallah.

Beirut-based analyst Said Kaywan told Kayhan London that Nasrallah’s proposal had one goal, which was to pay the Lebanese pounds directly to Hezbollah as Iran, now under U.S. sanctions, had little money left to pay its militia.

Without funds to buy munitions, known terrorist Nasrallah announces new weapons consistent with use of Ammonium Nitrate. Soon afterwards, Lebanon’s largest known store of NH4-NO3 blows up.

There are two high probability scenarios:

-1- This is purely an industrial accident. The Hezbollah weakened central government was unable to act.
-2- Flunkies from Iranian al’Hezbollah blew themselves up, and the city, while trying to steal NH4-NO3 for Nasrallah.

“Those off the cuff remarks, naked with no spin, are one of the reasons he makes the old D.C. bulls so angry.”

The other possibility – to which I subscribe – is that those “off the cuff remarks” are an important part of the semi-sophisticated psyop that is the Trump presidency.

Trump makes frank statements that resonate with the target audience (as far as they go), but then he stops or backs off and never follows through on anything, regardless of merit or public opinion.

He’s done this regarding Obama’s fraudulent birth certificate; Obama’s illegal Syrian adventure; 9/11; Epstein’s mysterious “death”; pulling out of Afghanistan; pulling out of Syria; the use of hydroxychloroquine to treat COVID-19; etc.

One of my recent favorites was Trump’s retweeting and subsequent deletion of a video in which one of his apparent supporters yells “white power” during a verbal confrontation between BLM protesters and Trump supporters at a retirement community in Florida.

IOW Trump calculatingly postures, sometimes quite convincingly doing something or making some non-PC statement or suggesting that some conspiracy is afoot somewhere, and the people that want to believe “he’s one of us” eat it up and demand more. Then, like clockwork, the media and the others around him publicly criticize and/or correct him (and depending on circumstance congress may do something to provide political cover or some kind of excuse why he can’t follow through or be blamed for anything, etc.), Trump promptly backs off, and the cycle repeats ad nauseam.

The key is that there needs to be a powerful shock wave to begin with. This is normally created with an electrical detonator and amplified with a more sensitive high explosive like RDX or TNT.

As I’ve explained many times before, it’s a fool’s errand to think you can locate liability accurately for incidents like this. All of us are engaged in bias conformation whether we admit to ourselves or not.

Importantly, there is functionally no connection between the event and the narratives proffered. It’s always Groundhog Day, now in internet-fueled real-time.

Interestingly, the only antecedent that Escobar mentions is Chernobyl. Which stands for late-era Soviet incompetence in the making and aftermath without much in the way of outside nefariousness that I’m aware of.

The shoot down of the Vincennes, paired with Lockerbie, exemplifies what I’m talking about in terms of the disconnectedness in the aftermath. In short, it was in the interest of both Iran and the US to make Libya the dirty dog for Iran’s payback. Indeed, even Libya was persuaded to play along.

Whatever the truth of the incident, Ukraine flight 752 demonstrates that even a sclerotic regime like Iran knows when to call it a day.

All that said, there is nothing about this — It’s location, the official narrative at this point regarding the storage of the ammonium nitrate there for seven years, or, most obviously, the video showing a perfect white condensate cloud on detonation — suggests mere accident or incompetence.

Here’s my two cents. Though we can’t be sure, assume arguendo that the tons of ammonium nitrate were indeed sitting in that port warehouse for the last seven years. Beginning in 2013 when, I think there was something going on in Syria. This despite the fact that an eight-year old of only average intelligence would recognize that as madness.

So if you set aside all the arm-waving it sure looks like the powers that be decided to place in the Beirut port a big bomb and leave it there. Almost as if it were a form of a guarantee. With Beirut, Aoun Christians in particular, on the hot seat if Lebanon’s rough neutrality in Syria and beyond wasn’t maintained.

There’s no way around it, Escobar’s favorites are most implicated. No mention of Nasrallah’s shouting that Hezbollah didn’t even know there was a port there, let alone about the ammonium nitrate stored there.

Ammonium nitrate is the fertilizer compound that can be used in explosives, said John Goodpaster, who researches explosives at Indiana at University-Purdue University Indianapolis. This compound is not found in its pure form in the common fertilizers that are commercially available. And, even in its pure form, ammonium nitrate by itself is not explosive.

“The ammonium nitrate is like the engine behind the explosion, but the engine needs fuel,” Goodpaster told Life’s Little Mysteries. In fact, bombs need two components beside the fertilizer: a detonator and a fuel. The fertilizer must be mixed with a fuel in an exact ratio, and the detonator must be able to generate sufficient energy, he said.

The objective facts for Nasrallah’s threats to use NH4-NO3 are everywhere. For example: (1)

… clip filmed in February 2017, he [Nasrallah] said: “There is a ship that brings the ammonia, and distributed it to the Haifa facility and I said that the Haifa facility is the equivalent of a nuclear bomb, but the ship that carries ammonia to occupied Palestine is like five nuclear bombs.”

The footage “suggests that Hezbollah studied the use of ammonia as an accelerant that would multiply exponentially the power of its missiles,” the report said.

Ammonium nitrate fertilizer is not particularly valuable. Cargo was worth maybe $1.0M (under normal circumstances) and it could easily cost more to settle the debts and fines, recover what was IIRC a very decrepit vessel, pay off the crew, etc.

It’s always important to keep in mind that the “attack” (Trump) on Beirut’s port destroyed Lebanon’s main grain silo, apart from engineering the total destruction of the port – the nation’s key trade lifeline.

The head of Bosphorus maritime transit then received a phone call from President Erdogan’s officer saying that Erdogan personally requests it be released and allowed Bosphorous passage. The head of Bosphorus transit was so upset by this — fearing it could be a terror ship that could even be used in Istanbul — that he tweeted publicly his disapproval of passage as a self-protective maneuver.

Who was paying for that storage? Warehouses don’t just let people store 2,700 tons of dry product for years for free.

Allegedly the shipment was seized by the government years ago. Was the Lebanon government paying for the storage?

Yes. The Lebanese government ordered the storage. There may not be a specific “rent” payment as the warehouse operating firm was tied to the government.

Some government officials, most notably Col. Joseph Skaf, objected to the presence of the dangerous bulk NH4-NO3. Col. Skaf was assassinated by Nasrallah to prevent the government from disposing of the weaponizable cargo. (1)

Directed Energy Weapon is surely one possibility. Musing on that, my intuitional sense shifted gears to Sci-Fi narratives I’ve read over the years regarding satellites programmed to spew out tungsten rods at particular targets. The speed of these projectiles would be well beyond hypersonic and because of their metallic composition would not flame-out passing through the atmosphere.

Cannot pinpoint a source, but I do recall reading something 4-5 years back about the U$ military being possessed of such a capability. Do I even need to mention that whatever is not directly shared by the U$ with their I$raeli string pullers, is covertly and quickly stolen for them by agents of Mossad or the Judeocracy.

This is happening amid a massive global asset grab characterized in the larger context by American GDP down by almost 40%, arrays of bankruptcies, a handful of billionaires amassing unbelievable profits and too-big-to-fail megabanks duly bailed out with a tsunami of free money.

One aspect of usury is to make loans to then grab the assets later at a fire-sale price.

The intent is not to earn interest on production, but to take the asset and become owner of the world.

Since all the various forms of usury have been normed out of our language and consciousness, it is easy for privateer predators to plan and unleash their schemes on unwitting populations.

The IMF is populated by agents of Mammon at the top of its hierarchy:

In parallel, the IMF vulture would embark on full shakedown mode and finally “forgive” some of Beirut’s debts as long as a harsh variation of “structural adjustment” is imposed.

The harsh variation in structural adjustment is driving paid for national assets down in price using austerity, so that private “international” finance can swoop in to buy up the country cheap.

Is it no wonder why Hitler divorced Germany from the “power of private international finance?” There was no other choice, or you lose your country, meanwhile your people become degraded through debt slavery. Foreign privateers then own the commanding heights of your national economy.

    Thomas Jefferson noted the mechanism:

“If the American people ever allow private banks to control the issue of their money, first by inflation and then by deflation, the banks and corporations that will grow up around them (around the banks), will deprive the people of their property until their children will wake up homeless on the continent their fathers conquered.”

Interesting perspective. Some time back I read about Sanhedrin agents working closely with Mao in the development of his regime. What really got me suspicious was when Ki$$inger had his little tete a tete with Chou En Lai, setting the stage for the Nixon-Mao confabs in which the apperatura between the U$ puppet regime and Mao’s Red China was set in place.

Students of meta-political affairs have come to the conclusion that Henry the K. has long been a prime minion for the Rockefeller Crime Clan and likely closely coordinates their $atrapy, the United $tate$ of America Corporation, with that of the Rothschild Crime Clan, where one gets very close to the Babylonian Blood Brotherhood, aka the Sanhedrin (pointed out by the noble Jew Derek Menuhin in his book “Tell the Truth and Shame Satan”.

So the speculation that China has long been part of the master plan for total global domination by the Bloodlines, which in the case of China might well include the Li clan, may have some grounds for traction–or at least for further inquiry. Once you approach the Eye of Horus, hovering above the control pyramid, you quickly discover that the All-Seeing Eye is something like an onion, where many layers conceal the germ cell within. Discernment of that enigma within a multi-dimensional puzzle is currently manifesting at only the very highest levels of meta-political insight and intuition.

    The search goes on.

Spot on. To add, recall that in the ‘08 crisis, congress passed a much smaller bailout and there was a fair amount of resistance from congress. It took some time to finally get the initial bailout passed. In ‘20, a much bigger bailout was arranged within a week with virtually no resistance. This means that engineering economic crises has virtually no downside risk since these “bailouts” (asset transfers) are now normed into the US economic/social expectation model. If the US economy survives into the future in its current form, the asset grabs following economic demolitions will be bigger and more blatant. We’ve set a dangerous and powerful precedent that will further turn the country over to plutocracy.

We need a seismic paradigm shift now. It’s doubtful that the masses will wake up since they are so busy being hoaxed with the minority empowerment schtick. A mind only has so much energy to devote to issues and that energy is being maladaptively deployed on cultural suicide.

My sorrow for the citizens of Lebanon, who are obviously the victims of an international conspiracy that most likely includes their own governments and leaders, exactly like the staged 9/11 attacks, in which the governments and media world wide simply did not report the truth about what happened, even with international spy satellites and intelligence operations around the world. We know nothing inteland media in agreement and collusion to ignore reality, and report easily proven lies as facts that cannot be debated, whether Putin rigged the election for Trump, or Covid-hysteria.

The only thing to do as individuals is to put one’s foot down. If being accepted requires denying the existence of corruption and malfeasance, it is better to stand alone, in my opinion. Once someone capitulates and begins denying the obvious corruption and is placating and making excuses for the corrupt psychopaths, they have agreed to self-destruct for the sake of exalting evil psychopaths.

People will not agree on lies. People will agree on the truth, which will make the world a more peaceful place. To try to get people to accept a narrative of lies to further a cause in an ends justify the means mentality ensure that there never will be peace. And while you are studying that reality—judiciously, as you will—we’ll act again, creating other new realities, which you can study too, and that’s how things will sort out. “They know that there’s a labyrinth of subterranean chambers here; they’ve discovered the opening of just one of them…And that’s what’s keeping the hopes of relatives alive – that somehow their loved ones have made it to that shelter,” the correspondent said.

Russian and Turkish rescue teams have joined Lebanese army and civil defence forces in scouring the wreckage for evidence and looking for survivors.”

Bomb shelters from back when zionazia was occupying and attacking Lebanon? I hope they find people there OK.

“Lebanese President Michel Aoun has not ruled out foul play, saying Friday that along with “negligence,” authorities are still looking into whether the incident was caused by “foreign interference through a missile or bomb.”

The investigation into the blasts has itself sparked a political conflict, with President Aoun and Hezbollah leader Hassan Nasrallah expressing support for an internal probe, while opposition forces have demanded an international investigation. Trump said Sunday that the United States would be willing to assist in such a probe if asked.”

Essentially the Lebanese people represented by Nasrallah and Aoun vs the israeli quislings controlling the Sunni factions. That ultimate israeli quisling trump spews forth supporting regime change is the smoking gun the explosion was part of a zionazi-gay destabilization campaign against Lebanon (actually targeting Hezbollah) and that this is connected to an overall zionazian strategy of regime changing Lebanon to some colonial americanism in the service of greater israel strategy.

Exactly. It’s both a floorwax AND a dessert topping.

The ammonium part of the molecule goes to provide the nitrogen that plants need to make the building blocks of proteins and nucleic acids.

The nitrate part of the molecule supplies the oxygen in explosive redox reactions. So, you can call it either a fertilizer or the critical oxidizer component of an explosive. It’s the latter role that is relevant to Pepe’s essay.

  113. US foreign policy in the Middle East is hopeless. Why? Whites cuck to Jewish Power.

Get a load of this typical boomer mentality.

    CucKevin Boomer tweets:

I once asked Paul Gottfried when American Jews would stop clamoring for the immigration of Muslims who would gladly slit their necks. And he told me, “Never”

How about… “I once asked a White Boomer when White Americans would stop clamoring for ‘Muh Israel’ and ‘We Love Jews’ when Jews would gladly cut off their balls, spread globo-homo, promote jungle fever, demonize the white race, and push for the Great Replacement, aka White Nakba. And he told me, ‘Never’.”

If so-called dissident thinkers like Kevin Grace and Jared Taylor are still so smitten with Jews, consider the mental state of Conservatism Inc. It’s freaking hopeless.

And notice how so many whites couch pro-white issues as pro-Jewish ones, indeed as if being pro-white isn’t sufficient to merit moral consideration. If a Jew is merely pro-Jewish, that is wonderful. But if a white wants to be pro-white, he has to associate white interests with other interests, especially those of Jews, blacks, and homos, e.g. “We need to stop Muslim immigration to protect the ‘gays’.”
But Jews don’t feel Jewish interests must be defended as being good for white interests. Blacks also feel that being pro-black is sufficient to merit recognition. But whites? They must always attach their interests to some ‘higher’ interests, such as shielding Jews. Even when whites argue against ‘affirmative action’, it’s never about what’s good for whites but rather on grounds that AA actually hurts blacks(which is laughable).

Never mind that Jews push mass immigration to reduce whites into a minority who thus won’t be able to unite into a solid majority power. Instead of focusing on how Mass Immigration hurts whites, Kevin Grace is focused on how it may hurt Jews… even though Jews are the main group pushing it to destroy white power.

While Jews have something to worry from Muslims in Europe, American Jews have nothing to fear. As the US attracts many more browns, yellows, Hindus, and other kind of immigrants, Muslims can never amount to a great power bloc in the US. Besides, Jews are so wealthy and privileged in the US that they can live in communities far removed from any danger of terrorism or crime. This is esp true of elite Jews who live in great luxury and who make all the big decisions for the Jewish community. So far, most Muslim acts of violence in US and Europe have led to deaths of goyim, not Jews.

Now, notice that Kevin Grace is hardly troubled by what the white support for Zionism and Wars for Israel have done to the Middle East and the Muslim Community. Even if Muslims were to slit the throat of an odd Jew here and there, the US war machine and sanctions policy have destroyed countless Arab and Muslim lives in the Middle East and North Africa OVER THERE. K Grace focuses on Palestinian hatred for Jews but totally overlooks the reason as to why: Western Support for Zionism that led to Nakba and Occupation of the Palestinians. He calls himself a pious Christian but is really just a shamelessly craven cuck-roach to Jewish Power.

Why do Jews support Muslim immigration? It’s part of the larger plan of pushing non-white immigration to reduce whites into a minority. But the other reason is to provide a moral cover for the Invasion Strategy. To invade, destroy, and remake the Muslim World, the US must present itself as a ‘friend’ of Arabs and Muslims, and what better way than by providing ‘refuge’ to all those Muslims and Arabs displaced by Wars for Israel? So, the US drops bombs and supports terrorists to tear Muslim nations apart and then makes a big show of taking in all these Arab/Muslim refugees because the US/West ‘cares so much’. But don’t expect craven rats like Grace and Jared Taylor to ever admit as much.

Next, they soak it with diesel fuel and insert a tube of dynamite taped to a blasting cap. The electric cap is fired off with 100 feet of lamp cord from a truck battery–kabloom!

The point is ammonium nitrate is actually extremely stable–stored by the ton in farmers’ barns and co-ops–and even when saturated with diesel oil it takes an explosive to trip it off.

I mean, there is just no precedent for this.

I disagree. There’s plenty of examples of Israeli psychos blowing up buildings and in Lebanon.

“Rise and Kill First: The Secret History of Israel’s Targeted Assassinations” by Israeli author Ronen Bergman describes how, nearly 40 years ago, the Israelis were detonating innumerable bombs in Beirut and other Lebanese cities. One large IED was set off by Israel in Beirut’s Fakhani neighborhood, killing 83 and wounding 300, including the women next door who were trapped while working in a clothing factory. In December 1981 alone, Israel set off 18 bombs in Beirut, killing scores of women and children.

This is the mindset of the homicidal sociopaths of Israel, who love to butcher Goyim, especially on Jew holidays, like Tu’Bav, their day of love. That kind of love has murdered tens of millions since the Israeli masterminded 9/11 false flag.
Until Israel is defanged and made to behave like a human being, and not some maniac axe-killer, the entire world will stay in peril.

What does our Congress do? Pass anudda’ bill giving Israel more money, while at the same time, saying we can’t afford to help Americans out of work.

  140. jsinton says:

I have my own theories as to what has happened.

    Accident:

Ammonia nitrate fertilizer does blow up by accident. Just look at the Texas City disaster. A ship caught fire and 2,500 tons of fertilizer blew up by accident. There was no dispute as to the cause. Other similar accidents happen every few years around the world. This one just happened in Beirut. Reports of a welder with a blow torch, and fireworks in the adjoining warehouse mean it’s entirely possible.

    Corruption:

Anyone that knows Beirut like I do ( I lived there for years) knows that the whole country is run by little mafioso fiefdoms and warlords. Nothing gets done without payola or greasing of the palm. In Lebanon it’s called “buckshish”. You can generally pay off a cop and get out of a ticket, or illegally dump trash, etc. This is probably how a dangerous cargo of ammonia nitrate was allowed to be stored for 7 years and nobody did anything. Pay off whoever is in charge. Control the flow of goods in and out of the port. Probably Port of Beirut is the biggest buckshish operation in the country since everything is imported.

    Hezbollah:

Hezbollah controls the Lebanese government. Probably Hezbollah was in charge of the ammonia nitrate and planned to make martyrdom truck bombs out of it. It’s the perfect do-it-yourself ingredient for such a thing, just ask the Oklahoma City truck bomb boys. 2,750 tons makes a lot of cheap truck bombs. Also great for IEDs and tank traps on the Southern border. Make a hell of a defensive line along the Litani river. If I were Hezbollah, I sure want a 2,750 ton mountain of ammonium nitrate at my disposal. The “tell” is the reaction of Hezbollah. Usually, they would waste no time to call it a “Zionist conspiracy”, but in this case they’ve been very circumspect and coy. That leads me to believe they know a great deal more than they are saying and have guilt on their minds. They don’t want an international probe, which means they’re afraid of the results and want to control the narrative.

    Zionists/Saudis/CIA

Since the Zionists, al Qaida jihadis, and Saudis would be a the receiving end of truck bombs and tank traps it would make perfect sense if they blew it up to eliminate Hezbollah using it against them. No brainer there. But all that damage to Beirut? No problem. Blowing up such a thing in Beirut might be just the thing to break up the Hezbollah controlled mafioso kleptocracy that is known as the Lebanese government. Lebanon has become a failed state. They can’t supply electricity or collect the trash. Can’t form a government that does anything. They allow Hezbollah as a state within a state with it’s own army. Hezbollah is a sure risk of war with the Zionists and destruction that ordinary Lebanese have no say or sovereign control over. Lebanon is undergoing a banking crisis, a COVID crisis, etc. It’s already unstable to the max. Blowing up Beirut might prove to be the last straw that could end Hezbollah rule.

    Conclusion:

It’s entirely possible that it’s just an unfortunate accident. An act of God. That’s my first theory.

But if it’s not an accident then my second theory is that everyone knew Hezbollah intended to use the ammonia nitrate to make bombs. Everybody probably knew the ammonia nitrate was there and what it would be used for. The Saudis probably green lighted the sabotage operation and the CIA carried it out with Moussad. The immediate goal is to neutralize the explosive. It is hoped the event will topple the Lebanese government and neutralize Hezbollah, which is a desired goal for many years. It might just work, since the Lebanese government is controlled by Hezbollah. As the Lebanese themselves are responsible for letting dangerous cargo to sit in the heart of the city, they take a lot of the blame, thus creating plausible deniability for the CIA/.Moussad.

The third theory I have is that it was an internal Lebanese false flag operation, similar to the 9/11 attack. Insure the buildings and blow them up. Lebanese politics is a bitter thing, and there is a substantial number of Lebanese Christians and Sunnis are tired of Hezbollah control of the government and would like nothing better than to hang Nasrallah. Shock doctrine. Topple the government. Cooperate with Moussad, the Saudis and the CIA. If Hezbollah did indeed control the ammonium nitrate, then by all means, blow it up. Collateral damaged would be minimal compared to a civil war. The people themselves will demand change. Hezbollah would fall.

My general attitude toward all this is that Lebanon is all infinite shades of gray with no black and white. Good and evil exist everywhere, and one day God will sort it all out. Judge not lest ye be judged. I’m waiting for the official Lebanese explanation.

But if I had to make a bet, my money would be on #3. It was a Lebanese operation that was green lighted by the powerful intelligence agencies of Saudi, the USA and Israel. They all probably did it. And it will probably work like a charm, just as 9/11 did.

Ammonium nitrate is a potent oxidizer, which is normally stable.
It is used as a component in various explosives.
    Big difference.
    Fuel + oxidizer = combustion
    https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ammonium_nitrate
    https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_ammonium_nitrate_disasters

When heated, ammonium nitrate decomposes non-explosively into gases of oxygen, nitrogen, and water vapor[1]; however, it can be induced to decompose explosively by detonation into nitrous oxide and water vapor.[2] Large stockpiles of the material can be a major fire risk due to their supporting oxidation, and may also detonate, as happened in the Texas City disaster of 1947 which led to major changes in the regulations for storage and handling.

There are two major classes of incidents resulting in explosions:

In the first case, the explosion happens by the mechanism of shock to detonation transition. The initiation happens by an explosive charge going off in the mass, by the detonation of a shell thrown into the mass, or by detonation of an explosive mixture in contact with the mass. The examples are Kriewald, Morgan, Oppau, Tessenderlo, and Traskwood.
In the second case, the explosion results from a fire that spreads into the ammonium nitrate (AN) itself (Texas City, Brest, Tianjin, or to a mixture of an ammonium nitrate with a combustible material during the fire. The fire must be confined at least to a degree for successful transition from a fire to an explosion (a phenomenon known as “deflagration to detonation transition”, or DDT). Pure, compact AN is stable and very difficult to initiate. However, there are numerous cases when even impure AN did not explode in a fire.

Ammonium nitrate decomposes in temperatures above 210 °C (410 °F). Pure AN is stable and will stop decomposing once the heat source is removed, but when catalysts are present, the reaction can become self-sustaining (known as self-sustaining decomposition, or SSD). This is a well-known hazard with some types of NPK fertilizers and is responsible for the loss of several cargo ships.

Note that NPK fertilizers contain Nitrogen, Phoshorus and Potassium.
They are not pure ammonium nitrate.

Thank you so much for your well informed analysis.

My understanding (please correct me if I am wrong) is that Hezbollah “private army” is the main reason the Israeli “Defense” Forces were unable to conquer South Lebanon.

If Hezbollah is eliminated, what, if anything, keeps the Jews out of South Lebanon?

I would expect them to continue to have territorial aspirations to South Lebanon, at least as far north as the Litani. (I ran this by Eric Margolis awhile back. His one word response was “Yep.”)

Reason: in the desert, the most precious commodity is water.
The fact that rivers make natural boundaries is, IMO, of secondary importance.
You can bet your botas if the Jews conquer South Lebanon, they will
    a) claim “self defense,” as they normally do, never mind the facts, and
    b) attempt to claim all the water in the Litani as their own. Reason stated above.

the only antecedent that Escobar mentions is Chernobyl. Which stands for late-era Soviet incompetence in the making and aftermath without much in the way of outside nefariousness that I’m aware of.

It is no secret that Ukraine has always had a large number of people who will do anything to harm Russia. Many of them worked previously for the Germans and were evacuated to Canada, the USA and Australia.

A glance at a map will confirm that Chernobyl is close to the border with Russia and Belarus – all the other Ukrainian nuclear power stations are further away.

Everything is for sale in Ukraine. It would not take much to get someone to sabotage the plant. Of course, one can prove nothing.

As for “Soviet-era incompetence”, the fact is that a large number of identical reactors are operational today in Ukraine and all over the FSU – with no mishaps. And this is 34 years later!

There Are Still 10 Chernobyl-Style Reactors Operating Across Russia. How Do We Know They’re Safe?

So it could be someone set fire to Ammonium Nitrate from the inside or from the outside (remotely o h.p. laser gun).
To me, the first suspect is someone who profits the most – INTERNATIONAL JEWISH LOBBY and Israel.
The second suspect could be opposite factions to current Lebanon government, either controlled or not by Israel, but the damages in Beirut are in the interest of Israel as well.
Now, if China helps Lebanon to rebuild Beirut it means billions of dollars in business to China and Chinese influence in this part of The Middle-East to the disadvantage of USA which lost influence even in Turkey over attempt to get rid of Erdogan.

There is much talk about a ‘nuclear weapon’ with the mushroom cloud in Beirut, but in fact mushroom clouds are quite common in chemical explosions as often occur in factories, and it is actually well proven that Hiroshima was napalmed like Tokyo, there were no ‘nuclear bombs’ used in 1945…

    That’s just silly…

Chemical explosion mushroom clouds are not at all the same as nuclear explosion mushroom clouds…

The physical processes are basically the same…the blast energy releases massive heat that churns upward through the air due to the air’s increase in buoyancy from the heat, a massive updraft, forming that mushroom cap when it gets high enough to be stopped by colder air, just like a cumulus, puffy cloud…that’s why they are called pyrocumulus…

But the heat quantity and intensity of a nuclear mushroom causes massive ionization in the air, where molecules split apart into their constituent elements, and even those atoms lose electrons…it’s called chemical dissociation…this makes the cloud appear to have a glow from the ionization…you don’t get that from a chemical blast because there is not enough heat release…

The huge energy released also causes this fireball to rise much much higher in a nuclear blast, right up to the end of the troposphere [about 15 to 20 km up]…but the temperature gradient at the tropopause stops it from going higher [lack of buoyancy] so it flattens into a huge mushroom cap…

Chemical blasts would have to be quite massive to reach that high, although volcanic eruptions can go that high…

Inside a rising mushroom cloud: denser air rapidly forces itself into the bottom center of the toroidal fireball, which turbulently mixes into the familiar cloud appearance.

Yes, but that’s not the same as the legal term “cui bono” (i.e. “to/for whose benefit”) which doesn’t assign agency, only candidacy thereof. Moreover, Seneca’s maxim is hyperbole in that it would assign agency to all beneficiaries, which would be nonsensical — exactly as the original poster claims – for not all who benefit from a deed have done the deed.

Now with this attack I am sure China will step in and most likely increase the investment to link Lebanon with the BRI. The conflict started by the US against China has increased the strategic role of China’s belt and roadway. Lebanon is one of the key nations that links it to Iraq and Syria. China’s entry into Lebanon would be a watershed moment in Middle East geopolitics. It would push America out and sideline Israel’s heavy presence in that nation

“ Probably Hezbollah was in charge of the ammonia nitrate and planned to make martyrdom truck bombs out of it. It’s the perfect do-it-yourself ingredient for such a thing, just ask the Oklahoma City truck bomb boys. ”

I wonder why Hizbollah would keep the ammonia nitrate for so many years stored at the port when they have all kinds of storage places in the mountains of Lebanon that have proven with their caves to be untouchable by the most modern military jets.

As for the Oklahoma bombing, you prove yourself that you are very much in the pocket of the mainstream media/deep state complex. It is a fact that the side of the building that got demolished was not the one where the truck exploded which means, just like 9/11, it was an inside job and Timothy McVeigh was just the typical patsy.

“ Since the Zionists, al Qaida jihadis, and Saudis would be a the receiving end of truck bombs and tank traps it would make perfect sense if they blew it up to eliminate Hezbollah using it against them. ”

It seems you have forgotten that there is a vicious war in Syria that has been running on since 2011 and were the Western/ Nato financed and equipped Al Qaida has been indiscriminately bombing civilian and military targets with all kinds of IED’s killing and maiming thousands of Syrians. I know I’m being a downer but Cui Bono? (e.g. “the biggest winner”) is its own rabbit hole.

With his inimitable way, Trump adds to the fun. Early on he declared the Beirut explosion “an attack.” Tongue-clucking and gasket-blowing followed from the usual suspects. They claimed he was once again shooting his mouth off with “no evidence.”

Even intelligent observers ignore that he’s sui generis in his willingness to take any and all questions from the media on a near daily basis. Because it makes them feel bad about themselves, most people ignore how powerful this makes him. He simply has no peers globally in this respect.

It’s worth paying close attention to that which the press doesn’t ask him about or inexplicably doesn’t follow up on with him. Here’s one to make the point:

“If we wanted to fight a war in Afghanistan and win it, I could win that war in a week. I just don’t want to kill 10 million people,” Trump said.

Might this explain why a few months back General Mattis was publicly shouting that the military shouldn’t protect the White House from insurrectionists in Lafayette Park? Trump was baiting the media to ask him where he came up with that madness.

I think Trump’s comment explains the publicly leaked testy conference call with 87 year old Sheldon Adelson’s handlers the next day.

The world is is torn between two currents. On the one hand there is the Empire which has been surviving by series of mutations from the Roman Empire to the Holy Roman Empire all the way to the Spanish, British and American Empire. The modus operandi of this empire is a win /lose approach were pillaging of the wealth of nations through brute force and extortion is the name of the game. On the other hand there is the newly emerging Asian empire through its three protagonists, China, Russia and Iran with the Road and Belt initiative seeking a win win situation with willing players who would trade resources for infrastructure development and economic growth.

When Carthage and Rome fought for supremacy, Carthage was trying to dominate through trade whereas Rome wanted to conquer by the force of arms. The struggle was nowhere as depicted by Western historians as one between barbaric North Africans and civilised Romans. Both powers were pretty much inspired by the Hellenic philosophy and Hannibal never sought the annihilation of Rome but rather to force Rome into a workable arrangements for splitting the Mediterranean basin into two spheres of influence. Hannibal won the battles but ultimately lost the war because the Carthaginian senators would not accept to continually bankroll the war effort.

So going back to Lebanon, the latest Prime Minister of Lebanon did invite the Chinese to do some minor works at the Port of Beirut on the heels of a call by Hassan Nasrullah to head east as a way to deal with the dire economic situation, just like what Mr. Escobar is suggesting, only to have David Schenker, head of the Bureau of Near Eastern Affairs, warn the Lebanese not to get tempted by the offers of the usurious Chinese ( LOL). So taking into account the strategic geopolitical importance of the East Mediterranean and the gas deposits on Lebanon’s shores, it is no wonder that the Western Empire is seeking chaos in a country that has lost much of its sovereignty, after the American Saudi sponsored Taif agreement of 1989, so Lebanon’s assets would be grabbed for pennies on the Dollar. The how of the matter could be an act of sabotage or more likely a direct Israeli bombing that would destroy the lungs of Lebanon as 80% of what is consumed in Lebanon is imported through the Port of Beirut.

Marginally low-order detonations of nitrate, common with ANFO, do give off a well known yellow smoke, but the smoke is red if the detonation is more significantly low-order, tending towards deflagration. I don’t know what was in the warehouse, but the statement that nitrates cannot give off red smoke is FALSE.

The detonation in this case was apparently preceded by a partial deflagration as the red smoke significantly preceded the shock wave. Some projectiles can travel faster than and beyond the shock wave (they start at the same speed, the VOD, but do not slow down as rapidly because because of drag coefficient), but for the smoke to be so far beyond the shock wave in the first few milliseconds indicates that deflagration preceded the detonation shock.

Thanks for the links. I will take my time reading them.

Without pretending to be an erudite on the subject, my theory about Greece, the cradle of Western civilisation, was that by and large it was inspired by the Phoenicians, the Egyptians and the Indians. Yet we have to admit that the synergy created by the Greeks was formidable leading to the great domain of philosophy from the titans of Socrates, Aristotle and Plato, to the idea of democracy as the brainchild of Pericles. What I meant to imply about the Hellenic influence is that the system of governance in Carthage was not autocratic but subject to some checks and balances even though it was not a republic per se and as such the struggle had no ideological dimension as many Western historians try to portray it. Surely, it was not Athenian enlightenment against Spartan militarism.

Yes, Carthage was an offshoot of the Phoenicians and she was culturally influenced by them but we cannot rule out some Greek influence on the political system.

    Observations:

What We Know about the Blasts in Beirut – Dr. David Wurmser (Foundation for American Security and Freedom)
On August 4, a fire broke out, perhaps due to a welding accident, in Hangar 9 of Beirut’s port. Videos show black smoke, consistent with an industrial fire. After 20 minutes a fairly large explosion expanded the blast area into Hangar 12 and set the stage for a huge explosion 30 seconds later.
After the initial fire, it appears some small munitions (some claim fireworks) began erupting soon after, causing a whitish-grey smoke. A video taken from an adjacent building shows crackling and popping occurring before a much larger blast. The absence of a spectacular airborne display of streamers and sparkling explosions – as would be consistent with firework explosions – seems to suggest that weapons of some sort rather than fireworks were igniting.
Moreover, the explosion produced thick whitish-grey smoke consistent with high explosives and rocket fuel. 20 seconds after the blast, the escalating fire dramatically ramped up, as did the pace of white flashes in and above the building.
Photos of the final explosion showed the simultaneous and uniform detonation of Hangar 12. The blast was equivalent to a 1.1 kiloton explosion – about 1/11th the size of the Hiroshima nuclear blast. The reddish brown thick smoke is indicative of a concentrated and high-quality, bomb-grade ammonium nitrate explosion. Fertilizer-grade ammonium nitrate tends to explode with more blackish, oily smoke.
Nitropril, which was seen on some of the bags, is the grade of ammonium nitrate used for explosives. Ammonium nitrate cannot combust by itself. This is why getting to the bottom of the initial explosion is so critical. Without that explosion, which was likely caused by munitions, there would never have been a catastrophe.
Lebanese are universal in their belief that Hizbullah rules the critical areas of the port as a government within a government. Hangars 9 and 12 are the closest to the water, meaning they are prime warehouses for unloading ships without being detected. Lebanese port workers regarded Hangar 12 as an off-limits Hizbullah zone.
The ammonium nitrate may well have been a Hizbullah stash to send to their operatives around the world, such as those caught in 2015 in London with 3 tons of ammonium nitrate, those caught in Cyprus with 9 tons of ammonium nitrate, and those caught in Germany with ammonium nitrate.

100% Ammonium Nitrate can detonate by itself. However:

    — When at 100% purity, it is difficult to set off.
    — The detonation is not particularly efficient without other materials. Rule of thumb is that 3kg of Ammonium Nitrate is equivalent to 1kg of TNT.

In this event, the material had been exposed to water, salt, and heat for years. No one knows the precise quality of the aged matertial, but it is safe to believe that it was not in the original 100% pure condition. The munitions (or possibly fireworks) cooking off is certainly a credible ignition source for the detonation.

Rather, in reply to your statement that the author’s description of ammonium nitrate as an “explosive” is incorrect, I said:

“No it’s not incorrect to describe ammonium nitrate as an ‘explosive’ (especially in the context of the Beirut disaster) because one definition of an ‘explosive’ is ‘a substance which can be made to explode’ and the robust historical record of explosions involving pure ammonium nitrate prove that it ‘can be made to explode’ under the proper circumstances.”

The farmer I worked stored cases of dynamite in the shop, (had to turn the cases over every month or so). He stored the detonators and fuse in another building. After I spent half an hour digging a hole under a stump, the farmer would put one stick of dynamite with detonator and fuse into the hole and pour in two 80# sacks of fertilizer to breakup a ten-foot diameter stump. He lit the fuses and we all stood back and counted the explosions and marveled at the huge chunks of stump and roots spinning into the air. Then followed weeks of gathering roots and burning them to clear the land.

Likewise, I am no expert in the field but your depiction, and I am saying this in the most respectful way, is reminiscent of the mainstream (and imposed) western narrative of history – enthroning Ancient Greece as the beacon of light. Had it not been for the eugenic Anglo-Saxon of the 19th century, the Near East would be at that center.

We can say inspired but that would be sugar coating it. That it not to say that the ancient greeks did not come up with anything on their own and/or that they did not further whatever knowledge they acquired. They most certainly did. Greek mythology, however, is the rework of Phoenician mythology (which itself has roots in Mesopotamia). The concept of democracy was not any different. From the aforementioned links:

Along with the concept of the book, Semites contributed traditional Mesopotamian literary forms, techniques, and motifs—besides the Phoenician pantheon—that find strong parallels in Hesiod, Homer, and Aesop.

The democratic and constitutional Athenian city-state—pivotal to the growth of the Western world—may be another adaptation. From the Bronze Age onward, observes Glenn Markoe, “true city-states” functioned in Phoenicia.
monarchical city-states with their councils of elders and peoples’ assemblies are characterized as proto-democratic. With regard to Greece, preceding Athens, Sparta had a constitution. Aristotle, in his analysis of the Spartan and Carthaginian (Punic) constitutions, points to similarities: councils and popular assemblies. Thus, Simon Hornblower, Robert Drewes, and others assume that the Spartan system followed a Phoenician prototype.

It debunks the obviously fake “missile” theories. And the provides objective facts about what actually happened.

    That’s not a missile: it’s a bird

We have also observed videos being spread that claim to show a missile which, rather than being faked, have simply been misinterpreted. In the two cases of this we’ve identified, both objects claimed to be “missiles” are actually, on closer inspection, birds.

    The sound of jets

Some people reported hearing a noise similar to a low flying jet a few seconds before one of the smaller, interim explosions. The video below has been cited as evidence of this, with a roar starting at 01:14 which does sound similar to a jet engine. One of the people filming comments on this, asking “what is that sound!?”.

This crackling sound and the small explosions increase in intensity to become a roar for a few seconds before the interim explosion. Others have also noted a phenomenon in which intense fires are frequently reported to sound like jet engines as they draw in air from their surroundings.

Whether it was these smaller explosions, the roar of air, or a combination of both, it seems a strong possibility that this phenomenon was the source of the reported sounds of a jet over the city.

Objective facts prove that the NASRALLAH-SHIMA blast came from the Iranian al’Hezbollah Ammonium Nitrate depot at Warehouse 12.

Hi there Major One. So, commenter BenKenobi raised a potentially interesting question about the space needed to store the 2,750 tonnes of ammonium nitrate. I have been thinking about this as well, and I thought about responding to him, but I thought it might be more useful to respond to you.

Anyway, so I started doing some research, and I found a website that allows one to do various volume calculations for a variety of substances. https://www.aqua-calc.com/calculate/weight-to-volume

Using that website, we calculate that 2,750 tonnes of AN comes to a volume of 1,598.84 or roughly 1,600 cubic meters.

Next, I went to the Port of Beirut website. I couldn’t find any information on the dimensions of Warehouse 12 itself, but I found the following section describing the general dimensions of warehouses in the so-called “Free Zone.”

Industrial buildings N0 5 and N0 6 cover an area of 4000 square meters each, and have 52 warehouses each. The warehouses cover an area of about 200 square meters each where 16 are distributed on the ground floor, which is of a height of 6.5 meters, and another 18 warehouses in each of the first and second floors which are of a height of 4.5 meters, in addition to 5 wearhouses of 70 square meters each.

    http://www.portdebeyrouth.com/index.php/en/free-zone/buildings-and-equipments

So, if we assume that warehouse #12 has a 200 square meter area and multiply by 6.5 meters, we get 1,300 cubic meters, which is not large enough to store 2,750 tonnes (1,600 cubic meters) of AN. It is large enough, just barely, to store about 2,250 tonnes. Another thing to consider is that maybe some warehouses are larger than 200 square meters. At 6.5 meters high, 1600 cubic meters requires a floor space of 250 square meters.

So, I think we can say that 2,750 tonnes of AN would occupy the entire volume of the largest warehouses. The problem that I see with the official accident story is that it posits a large adjacent store of fireworks/munitions in order to provide the detonation necessary to explode stable AN. And visual observation of warehouse 12 does seem to show some kind of exploding munitions prior to the big blast.

But, if there was a large store of munitions in the same warehouse, then the space to hold the AN is further reduced. In short, it seems that the math of the official story might not add up. Any thoughts?

  197. “Oh, yes it can.”

Oh, no it can’t. Once again, since flour is a combustible substance that cannot burn without an oxidizer it is therefore not an explosive, but merely a fuel. In a dust explosion involving a combustible substance such as flour, the “oxidizer” is the oxygen in the air, so it’s not the flour that “explodes” but the flour and oxygen mixture.

I realize that you have no familiarity with the subject matter, but why is such a simple fact so hard for you to understand? Pure flour cannot explode by itself, whereas pure ammonium nitrate can. Are you really so stupid that you cannot grasp this simple, obvious distinction?

I didn’t say that I “can make a bomb from a sack of NH4NO3 (by itself

I read your previous comments as implying that to be possible, which it pretty much is not. Perhaps I misunderstood your comments.

First, whether I can personally do it and whether it’s possible in general are two different things. Second, how much ammonium nitrate is there in your hypothetical “sack” and what exactly do you mean by a “bomb”? Would I be free to choose the amount of the ammonium nitrate, the type/degree of confinement and the type/size of the detonator? And what constitutes a successful detonation? If 50% of the NH4NO3 detonates is that a “bomb”?

This is a good example of why I hate arguing a subject like this with a stupid, ignorant and dishonest person like you. Apparently lacking the knowledge to meaningfully discuss the subject in the first place (let alone formulate a cogent argument with which to defend your incorrect statement) and too dishonest to admit that you’re wrong, you resort to obfuscation with strawmen.

The context of the “discussion” involves the explosion of large stored quantities of pure ammonium nitrate for which there are many historical examples of devastating explosions and there is therefore no question as to whether ammonium nitrate can be made to “explode” – and therefore described as an “explosive” accordingly.

    You’re wrong; accept it.

At 6.5 meters high, 1600 cubic meters requires a floor space of 250 square meters.

So, I think we can say that 2,750 tonnes of AN would occupy the entire volume of the largest warehouses.

Based on the photo below, Warehouse 12 was approximately 120 meters long by 30 meters wide for a floor area of 3,600 square meters (sqm). If 250 sqm is the size of the cargo that is about 7% of the warehouse.

To put things in perspective, it is good to compare the power rating of the Beirut bombing to other real-life bombings.

A team from the University of Sheffield has assessed ite power and estimated the strength of the Beirut explosion to be around 1.5 kilotons in TNT equivalent. That would make it the second most powerful non-nuclear explosions recorded in history, after the 1917 Halifax explosion of a munition ship.

It would also place it at around one tenth the strength of the atomic bomb dropped on Hiroshima.

The Beirut bombing was far more powerful than any conventional military weapon, as it had 136 times the strength of the largest conventional bomb to ever be detonated, the “Mother of All Bombs” GBU-43 MOA dropped in 2017 over Afghanistan.

In view of these comparative figures, it is impossible to believe that randomly piled up fertilizer kegs have produced such results, an explosion more powerful than any deliberately designed non-conventional weapon.

Weapons must be deliverable. They fit in a plane or a missile or a drone. That means they are comparatively tiny. Most aircraft delivered bombs (e.g. Mark 82) contain 200 lbs / 87 kg of explosives.

The NASRALLAH-SHIMA Ammonium Nitrate stockpile was ~3,000 metric tons = 3,000,000 kg. Rule of thumb due to explosive inefficiency call it 1,000,000 kg TNT equivalent. That is roughly 11,500 conventional air delivered bombs going off simultaneously.

That is more than enough to wreck a city.

What exactly are your qualifications for discussing this subject?

Most people who know me consider me to be a) intelligent, b) well educated, and c) scrupulously honest.
I am in fact a university graduate with a B.S. in chemistry, awarded June 1970, three months before I reached my 21st birthday.

there are many historical examples of devastating explosions and there is therefore no question as to whether ammonium nitrate can be made to “explode”

Such as the Texas City disaster:
    https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Texas_City_disaster

It was the deadliest industrial accident in United States history and one of history’s largest non-nuclear explosions.

The ammonium nitrate, needed either as fertilizer or an explosive, was manufactured in Nebraska and Iowa and shipped to Texas City by rail before being loaded onto the Grandcamp.[4] It was manufactured in a patented process, mixed with clay, petrolatum, rosin and paraffin wax to avoid moisture caking.

So you see, in this case the ammonium nitrate was not pure. It was mixed with various hydrocarbons, which provided the fuel for the explosive.

I am not an explosives chemist.
My only personal experience with ammonium nitrate is as lawn fertilizer.
But everything I have read to date suggests that getting ammonium nitrate to explosively decompose, by itself, rather than functioning as an oxidizer, is extremely difficult.
    https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_ammonium_nitrate_disasters

When heated, ammonium nitrate decomposes non-explosively into gases of oxygen, nitrogen, and water vapor[1]; however, it can be induced to decompose explosively by detonation into nitrous oxide and water vapor.[2] Large stockpiles of the material can be a major fire risk due to their supporting oxidation,

Other posters here with personal experience using the substance appear to corroborate that assessment. If you have personal experience to the contrary, then please, by all means, do share your experience.

Hudson discusses the current (DNA) of the West:

    https://michael-hudson.com/2019/04/the-dna-of-western-civilization-is-financially-unstable/

The oligarchic Senate’s only “political program” was opposition to “kingship” or any such power able to check its land grabbing and corruption. The oligarchs assassinated him, as they had killed Tiberius and Gaius Gracchus in 133 and 121, the praetor Asellio who sought to alleviate the population’s debt burden in 88 by trying to enforce pro-creditor laws, and of course the populist advocates of debt cancellation such as Catiline and his supporters. Would-be reformers were assassinated from the very start of the Republic after the aristocracy overthrew Rome’s kings.

Roman empire was predator/creditor, which requires constant conquest to pay expanding debt claims.

Jewish predator/creditors were always present going back to the Haibaru donkey caravaneers. Our jewish friends were at war with themselves, with the creditor class winning out. This is why they were in conflict with Rome.

The British became Predator/Creditor with the Orange King revolution and Bank of England around 1694. Before that, they ran on King Edwards Talley sticks, and balanced debts every year at the major fairs.

America was at war practically from the beginning. The American System of Economy invented in Mass Bay, and then spread to other colonies, was not predator creditor. But, English and Jewish “monetarist’ agents were always present trying to take illicit gain. America fully succumbed by 1913 after the rigged election of 1912. America turned to empire a little earlier with Spanish American war.

The best point of attack is narrative in people’s heads. Once Christian’s realize that Jesus was a monetary reformer, and started his mission to re-establish the Jubilee, then that makes one realize that all of western history is an aberration… or rather is in rebellion to Christ.

Talmudic Judaism also cannot stand up to the new insights.

That is roughly 11,500 conventional air delivered bombs going off simultaneously.

This is the big error that Israel made, Hasbara; the cue is in the adverb “simultaneously”.

In the real-life, it would take a lot of arrangement, technology and coordination to simultaneously detonate 11,500 bombs, unlike the perfectly synchronised, single explosion that blew Beirut’s harbour up.

For comparison, the Tianjin harbour explosion involving “only” 800 tons of ammonium nitrate was also first made of two large, closely-successive detonations. But these were later followed by no less than eight secondary detonations.

It is one thing to believe that a fraction of stored NA could have caused an explosion powerful enough to blow Warehouse 12 with all its content.

But it is another thing altogether to pretend that over 2,500 tons of randomly piled up NA kegs have exploded simultaneously, to produce a massive yield of 1.5kT, in a detonation so perfect that there was no secondary explosions.

“Most people who know me consider me to be a) intelligent, b) well educated, and c) scrupulously honest.”

From my perspective, if you were “scrupulously honest” you would’ve agreed with the substance of my comment #123 and the discussion would’ve ended at that point. In fact a “scrupulously honest” person (with a modicum of common sense and internet access) wouldn’t have challenged the author’s use of the word “explosive” with such a lame pedantic argument in the first place, IMO.

“I am in fact a university graduate with a B.S. in chemistry, awarded June 1970, three months before I reached my 21st birthday.”

Which would support the dishonesty theory of your behavior; i.e. you’re just being contrary for some reason.

“So you see, in this case the ammonium nitrate was not pure. It was mixed with various hydrocarbons, which provided the fuel for the explosive.”

First, the article apparently doesn’t cite any source for that information. Second, assuming there was some kind of a coating on the ammonium nitrate, it’s pure speculation to suggest that it acted as a sensitizer or had any significant effect under the circumstances. Regardless, what about all the other documented cases? Just ignore them?

“I am not an explosives chemist.

According to David Parker (comment #193) it’s apparently not so “extremely difficult” in his experience (unless he’s lying, but why would he lie about it?).

In any case you don’t have to be an expert to look at the list of ammonium nitrate disasters (that YOU linked to), and to realize that bulk ammonium nitrate (with much or most of it apparently not mixed with fuel) can explode at the most inopportune times and places, right? By the way, have a look at Bellingcat UK webpage about the Beirut bombing, and at the extraordinary 4th embedded video in particular:

This video has been shot from the top of the grain silo facing Warehouse 12, siege of the alleged ammonium nitrate “explosion”. It is obvious, considering what was left of the silo, that nobody standing on the silo could have survived the explosion.

This means that the footage was most likely taken with a surveillance drone transmitting in real time, by people with foreknowledge of the catastrophe to come.

The Bellingcat Hasbara “analyst” brushes the anomaly under the rug by an awkward and ludicrous statement, that what was filmed could not have been the main explosion. No human being can run down a grain silo in a few seconds anyway.

This appears to be supported by a video filmed from the the roof of the Beirut Port Silos which show this warehouse on fire, shortly followed by an explosion. Due to the size of the explosion seen on the video below, it seems unlikely this was the largest explosion, but rather some of the smaller initial detonations.

This time, the “Dancing Shlomos” were a drone.

Lasha Darkmoon article: Israel Bombed Beirut: An Updated Report

The second tell-tale sign is that Israel never offers humanitarian aid to its Arab neighbors. During the Syrian Civil War, the only group to whom Israel offered humanitarian assistance was its Islamist anti-Assad allies. Israel has never offered such aid to Lebanon, until today. Lebanon is officially considered an enemy state in Israel. So to have the Lebanese flag flying over Tel Aviv city hall is also extraordinary. But the cynic in me says that it is an outrage for Israelis to all of a sudden develop pity on Lebanese after their leaders caused this debacle. Israel has rained down death and destruction on the country for decades. For it to feign empathy now is the height of chutzpah.

This is an excellent observation. Israel is trying to ethnically cleanse all Arabs from the Middle East section called Greater Israel. Ultimately Jews who subscribe to world domination want to kill and subjugate the entire planet, and so far, they are doing exactly that with great skill.

The Rabbinic hate for Arabs is extremely intense, like this quote “One million Arabs are not worth a Jewish fingernail.” It is a laugh that Israel – the ultimate racist parasite state that only wants more and more – cares in any way for dead rivals. They lack any empathy whatsoever for dead Arabs. So for Israel to offer aid and condolences is a ruse, a strategy to make itself look good, especially when it is near 100% probability that they did the attack.
