By any historical measure, it was a game-changer: the first meeting since the 7th century between a Roman Catholic Pope and a Shiite spiritual leader regarded as a “source of emulation.”

It will take a long time to assess the full implications of the immensely intriguing 50-minute face-to-face conversation, with interpreters only, between Pope Francis and Grand Ayatollah Sistani at his humble home in a Najaf alley near the dazzling Imam Ali shrine.

An avowedly imperfect parallel is that for the Shiite community of the faithful, Najaf is as pregnant with meaning as Jerusalem is for Christianity.

The official Vatican spin is that Pope Francis went on a carefully choreographed “pilgrimage” to Iraq under the sign of “brotherhood” – not only in terms of geopolitics but as a shield against religious sectarianism, be it Sunnis against Shiites or Muslims against Christians.

Francis went back to the main theme in an extremely frank exchange (in Italian) with the media on his plane back to Rome. Yet what’s most extraordinary is his candid assessment of Ayatollah Sistani.

The Pope stressed, “Ayatollah Sistani has a saying, I hope to recall it properly: ‘Men are either brothers by religion or equal by creation.’” Francis sees the bridging of this duality also as a cultural journey.

He qualified the meeting with Sistani as delivering a “universal message,” and praised the Grand Ayatollah as “a sage” and “a man of God”: “Listening to him, one cannot but notice it. He’s a person who carries wisdom and also prudence. He told me that for over ten years he has not received ‘people who come to visit me but have other political aims.’”

The Pope added: “He was very respectful, and I felt honored, even in the final salutations. He never stands up, but he did, to salute me, twice. A humble, and wise, man. It felt good to my soul, this meeting.”

A glimpse of the warmth was revealed in this image, absent from Western mainstream media – which, to a large extent, tried to gaslight, sabotage, ignore, black out or sectarianize the meeting, usually under barely disguised layers of “Shiite threat” propaganda.

They did that because, at the core, Francis and Sistani were delivering an anti-war, anti-genocide, anti-sectarian, and anti-occupation message, which cannot but incur the wrath of the usual suspects.

There were a few frantic attempts to portray the meeting as the Pope privileging quietist Najaf over militant Qom in the Shiite universe – or, in raw terms, Sistani over Iran’s Ayatollah Khamenei. That’s nonsense. For context, see the contrast between Najaf and Qom in my Persian Miniatures e-book published by Asia Times.

The Pope has recently written to Ayatollah Shirazi in Iran. Tehran keeps an ambassador in the Vatican and has collaborated for years on scientific research protocols. This pilgrimage, though, was all about Iraq. Unlike those of the West, the media of the Axis of Resistance (Iran, Iraq, Syria, Lebanon) gave it wall-to-wall coverage.

That crucial fatwa

I have been privileged to track Ayatollah Sistani’s movements since the early 2000s, and have visited his office in Najaf several times.

In 2003, when the scarecrow du jour, Abu Musab al-Zarqawi, literally blew up revered Ayatollah Muhammad Baqir al-Hakim in front of the Imam Ali shrine in Najaf, Sistani pleaded for no retaliation: The American occupation machine was too powerful and Sistani saw the divide-and-rule dangers of a sectarian Sunni-Shiite war.

Yet in 2004 he single-handedly stared down the mighty occupation apparatus and the dreadful Coalition Provisional Authority (CPA) when they were contemplating a bloodbath to get rid of the incandescent cleric Muqtada al-Sadr, then holed up in Najaf.

In 2014, Sistani issued a fatwa conferring legitimacy upon the weaponizing of Iraqi civilians to fight ISIS/Daesh – especially as the takfiris were aiming to attack the quadruple, sacred Shi’ite sanctuaries in Iraq: Najaf, Karbala, Kazimiya and Samarra.

So it was Sistani who legitimized the birth of armed defensive groups which coalesced in the Popular Mobilization Units (PMUs), or Hashd a-Shaabi, later incorporated into the Iraqi Ministry of Defense.

The PMUs were – and remain – an umbrella group, with some closer to Tehran than others and working under the strategic supervision of Major General Qassem Soleimani until his assassination via an American drone strike at Baghdad airport on January 3, 2020.

Never promised you a rose garden

For all the warmth between them, the meeting between the Pope and Sistani may not have been the proverbial rose garden. My colleague Elijah Magnier, the foremost reporter on all things Axis of Resistance, confirmed some startling details with his sources in Najaf:

Sayyed Sistani refused to have his own photographer and did not want any Shiite cleric, nor the directors of his office, to be present at Al-Rasoul Street, where he received His Holiness the Pope…. The Vatican did not issue any statement or take any overt position to recognize and support the Shiites who were killed while resisting ISIS and defending the Christians of Mesopotamia. Thus, Sayyed Sistani did not consider it necessary to issue a “joint document” as the Pope desired and was aiming for, and as he had done in Abu Dhabi when meeting with the Sheikh of Al-Azhar.

Magnier correctly focuses on the subsequent communiqué issued by Sistani’s office – and especially on its roll call vote of No, No, No …. Every No indicts the hegemon.

Sistani denounces the “besieging of populations” – including sanctions; he denies that Iraqis want US troops to stay; when he denounces “violence,” he refers to American bombing.

Additionally, “No to injustice” is Sistani’s message not only to politicians in Baghdad – mired in corruption, not delivering basic services or job opportunities – but also to Washington’s “language of war” in the wider Middle East, from Syria and Iran to Palestine.

Rome sources confirmed there had been negotiations for months aiming at convincing Baghdad to normalize relations with Israel. A “message” was sent through the Vatican. Sistani replied sharply that normalization is impossible. The Vatican remains mum.

One reason to remain mum is that the statement from Sistani’s office makes it clear the Vatican is not doing enough to support Iraq. According to the Najaf source quoted by Magnier, between 2014 and 2017 “the Vatican was silent when the Shiites lost thousands of men defending the Christians (and other Iraqis) and did not receive any attention or even an overt statement of recognition from the Pope for all these years since.”

The statement from Sistani’s office explicitly refers to “displacement, wars, acts of violence, economic blockades, and the absence of social justice to which the Palestinian people are exposed, especially the Palestinian people in the occupied territories.”

Translation: Iraq supports the Palestinian cause.

A crown of thorns

ORDER IT NOW

The meeting of Catholicism and Shia Islam did revolve around a geopolitical crown of thorns. Take, for instance, the fact that spokespersons or underlings of a Catholic POTUS, as well as American mainstream media, demonize the enemy du jour as “Iran-backed militias,” “Shiite-backed militias” or “Shiite militias affiliated with Iran.”

This is nonsense. As I found when meeting some of them in Iraq in 2017, PMUs harbor brigades composed not only of Shiites but Iraqis of other religions. For instance, there’s the Council of Scholars of the Sacred Ribat of Muhammad; the Council for Combating Takfiri-Thinking of the Sunnah Fallujah and Anbar; and the Christian Chaldean Brigade led by Rayan al-Kildani, who met Pope Francis.

To be fair, Pope Francis in his pilgrimage did condemn those who instrumentalize religion to engineer wars – to the benefit of Israel, the Saudi oily hacienda, the empire, and all of the above. He prayed at a church destroyed by ISIS/Daesh.

A billboard marking the meeting. Photo: AFP / Vatican Media
A billboard marking the meeting. Photo: AFP / Vatican Media

Significantly, Pope Francis handed a rosary to al-Kildani, the head of the Babylon militia of the PMUs. The Pope considers al-Kildani as nothing less than the savior of Christians in Iraq. And yet, al-Kildani is the only Christian on the planet featured on the US terrorist list.

It’s never enough to remember that the PMUs were the target of the recent Biden-Harris excellent bombing adventure on February 25/26: militants were actually bombed in Iraqi, not Syrian territory. The previous overall field commander of the PMUs was Abu al-Muhandis, who I met in Baghdad in late 2017. He was assassinated side by side with Soleimani.

Pope Francis was able to embark on his Iraqi pilgrimage only due to the Hashd al-Shaabi – who were absolutely key, front line actors saving Iraq from partition by takfiris and/or becoming a (fake) Caliphate.

Francis did retrace some of the Prophet’s steps in his Abrahamic pilgrimage, especially in Ur in Babylon; but echoes reach way farther, to al-Khalil (Hebron) in Palestine all the way to modern Syria and Jordan.

A mere pilgrimage won’t change harsh facts on the Mesopotamian ground: 36% unemployment (nearly 50% among the youth); 30% of the population living in poverty; an incoming NATO surge; the hegemon unable to let go because it needs this empire-of-bases hub between the Mediterranean and the Indian Ocean; widespread political corruption by an entrenched oligarchy.

Francis insisted this was only a “first step,” and it involves “risks.” The best one may hope for, as it stands, is that the Pope and his “humble and wise” interlocutor keep stressing that divide and rule, fanning the flames of religious, ethnic and communitarian strife, benefits only – who else? – the usual suspects.

It is hardly surprising that Pope Muhammad Francis of Islam went groveling before his Muslim masters. Open Borders and the displacement of Christians are part of Pope Muhammad’s core beliefs. Undergoing the Hajj, merely confirms what we already knew about his true religious affiliation.

Now that the Pope has openly come out in opposition to Jesus, will Catholics remove him from office? If not, the Catholic Church is head towards irrelevance and collapse.

There is zero riddle to the Pope meeting Sistani. The Pope wants to build an ecumenical religion based on humanist ideals. Sistani believes in God so told the Pope to f… off. It is really that simple.

From a Christian perspective, the Pope is the final Anti-Christ and the Catholic Church is the whore of Babylon. Hopefully, the Orthodox Russian Church also tells the Pope to f… off, although some Orthodox churches (I’m looking at you Bartholomew) seem to be falling under the delusion.

Strange, but you remind me of this: “From then on, Pilate tried to set Jesus free, but the Jewish leaders kept shouting, “If you let this man go, you are no friend of Caesar. Anyone who claims to be a king opposes Caesar.” When Pilate heard this, he brought Jesus out and sat down on the judge’s seat at a place known as the Stone Checkered pavement (which in Aramaic is Gabbatha). It was the day of Preparation of the Passover; it was about noon. “Here is your king,” Pilate said to the Jews. But they shouted, “Take him away! Take him away! Crucify him!” “Shall I crucify your king?” Pilate asked. “We have no king but Caesar,” the chief priests answered. Finally Pilate handed him over to them to be crucified.” John 19:11-13

So much praise for Sistanti, the Rasputin of Persian neo Colonialism in Iraq. This monster negotiated with Rumsfeld, Wolfowitz and other racist Zionists to fracture Iraq on sectarian grounds and yet being praised by a clueless “revolutionary” journalist.
It funny that a Persian mulla who was working for the Savak, Shah’s secret service ,trained by Mossad, is elevated to a sage, he is not, and is introduced as a man of peace. Nothing of sectarianism and nothing of the militias who have murdered Iraqi nationalists opposing both the presence of American Imperialism and their rabid dogs, the Persian Neo colonialists in their country.

Sistani is not an iraqi and is agent of foreign forces and his sordid aim is to spread and strengthen more sectarianism and bloodshed. He is a dangerous poisonous snake and need to be sent back to his homeland across the border . The sooner the better for the besieged Iraqi nation and i hope and pray , very soon.

The first problem that comes with mentioning Pontius Pilate is deciding which Gospel account of him to cite. In Mark, the earliest version, Jesus stands silent before him. In John, composed a half century later, they have a lively philosophical discourse. Luke’s and Matthew’s accounts also differ significantly. The Gospel of Pilate, a testimony eventually discarded by the church, praises him as none other than the first gentile convert to Christianity. Yet all sources agree that Jesus’ followers fled on his arrest, so one wonders who actually witnessed the events the Gospels narrate so inconsistently.

What changed between the creations of Mark and John was the Judean rebellion of 66-70CE, and it changed everything. Traditional Roman tolerance for Judaism vanished overnight when the rebels treacherously massacred three Roman garrisons after promising the men safe conduct out of the country. Accordingly, John reimagined the episode, transforming Pilate into a noble Roman hero, with the now universally reviled Jews becoming the villains of the piece. Pilate was even presented as virtually powerless over a vicious Jewish mob, baying for Jesus’ blood – just as John’s Roman audience would have remembered the Jews of Jerusalem howling for the murders of the unfortunate legionaries in the uprising.

As a Christian, I find your choice of verse to have no relevance.

These situations have no common thread:
    • A small, agitated group appealing to a polytheistic governor
    • A fake Christian serving his non-Christian master

Something casting Pope Muhammad in the role of Judas would be much more appropriate:

Psalms 41:9 – Yea, mine own familiar friend, in whom I trusted, which did eat of my bread, hath lifted up [his] heel against me.

Well, there are a few of us, here and there, who consider ourselves Christian, who don’t really share that perspective .. quite a few, actually ..

One must be a bit careful about Francis. Historically, he’s well into “bizarre anomaly” territory, and seems to be paddling toward the edge of the falls just as fast as he can.

This isn’t totally shocking to all of us. There are quite a few very respectable people over the years who have predicted an apostasy, and a “fake Church”; that may very well be what we are seeing now.

From this Christian’s perspective, the Catholic Church will be quite alright in the end, but the ride’s not over yet.

Not a fan. I strongly suspect he us the Black Pope and serves Satan. I mean, the guy allowed a statue of Panchamama into Rome for a ceremony. Good thing some of the faithful tossed it into a river.
Another one to watch out for is the Dalai Lama. That guy is in on the NWO agenda and is pure evil.
The goal is to create a new ‘religion’ for the World. In truth, it is an old religion from Sumeria and Carthage that worships Molech-Baal-Yahweh and Inanna. It will take your first born a d feed it to the Fire but first they will take a blood offering for their demon pets. The crowds of sheep will be encouraged to watch the spectacle and drums and other instruments will co er their screams.
That is the end goal of the NWO. It isn’t just about Feudalism 2.0 or Agenda 21. These are just means to the End. The End goal is a creation of a hell on earth which is their end of the Deal to attain then maintain absolute power on Earth. These Satanic families often have cloudy back stories. Ambani of Reliance industries is in India. Gates is another one.
This is why it is important to pray and make wishes to create positive mental energy that will prevent their plans from passing into reality.

    @Svevlad

    Absolutely, Svevlad !

There‘s something very strange about this story, I don‘t mean Pepe‘s story but the Pope‘s visit.

Usually, a recognized moral authority will make a plea for peace, cashing in (so to speak) on that authority. Francis‘ predecessor Benedict, made many public appeals for peace, in the run-up to the 2nd Iraq war in 2003.

Francis, however brings no such authority to this conversation. He comes in riding on the shoulders of the LGBTQ, globalist movement, hardly impressive credentials for Sistani or for anyone else to take seriously. So the question is what exactly was the point of his visit? Especially, since instead of bringing Roman Cahtolics with him the head of the Greek Catholic Patriarch of Damascus and Jerusalem, who not only would be speaking Arabic but would represent a much closer point of view to Sistani, he brings in some Roman Cardinal who is just as much a fish out of water there as himself. It‘s like he isn‘t really serious about his own mission.

These were the first impressions in reading the story, and then there was this from Pepe‘s article: „Rome sources confirmed there had been negotiations for months aiming at convincing Baghdad to normalize relations with Israel. A “message” was sent through the Vatican. Sistani replied sharply that normalization is impossible.“ So yeah, this may have been the main point of Francis‘s mission, to try to wedge between Sistani and the Iranian Ayatollah. This type of mission seems so illfated from the very beginning that it is impossible to believe they could have counted with success. If we were to find out later that the whole point of the mission was for someone in Francis‘ entourage to place a microphone or a homing device in Sistani‘s house, I would not be one bit surprised!

But this mission is monumental enough to warrant further thoughts, I can‘t help but be reminded of the murder of the Afghani Northern Brigade commander, Massoud on September 9th 2001. Someone, with definite knowledge of what was coming, wanted him out of the way. This mission of Francis‘ also feels like an ill omen of things to come, for the simple reason that it‘s so uncharacteristic of Francis‘s own priorities to date. This is the the environmental and LGBTQ pope who spoke to the US congress, and said nothing condemning the insanely belligerent US policies and wars, the most defining aspect of it‘s world wide actions. Further, he did not even mention the drone murders the US engages on a regular basis, something no moralist in the history of Christianity could ever have supported! And all of the sudden, he’s spreading peace??? I don’t buy it.

BTW, loved the fact that Sistani isn‘t donning the universal sign of submission to the globalist narrative, the Covid mask!

I know the blasphemy of them which say they are Jews, and are not, but are the synagogue of Satan.

Jesus would call out those that abandoned the Judeo-Christian belief in God for SJW Muslim Elitism. A couple examples:
    • George IslamoSoros for abandoning the Judaism of his forebearers.
    • IslamoPope Francis Muhammad for turning his back on Christianity.

SJW Islamic beliefs have contaminated both Churches and Synagogues and repurposed them to serve Satan/Allah/Lucifer and his spawn the Anti-Christ Muhammad. The IslamoPope’s embrace of anti-Biblical LBGTQ+ behaviour is all about dividing & weakening Christianity. The goal is to make Jihadi conquest easier.

He also tells the comrades in IRI to f…off. Sistani is genuine.

  41. Although I find the current Pope to be an obvious agent for the elites and their evil agenda, what I really find uniformly irritating in Escobar’s writing is his piss-your-pants fear of naming the 800lb gorilla in the room even when it is obviously appropriate to do so:

“They did that because, at the core, Francis and Sistani were delivering an anti-war, anti-genocide, anti-sectarian, and anti-occupation message, which cannot but incur the wrath of the usual suspects.”

Pepe rarely, if ever, has the journalistic balls to say, “zionists” where clearly appropriate and necessary.

That line should have read: “They did that because, at the core, Francis and Sistani were delivering an anti-war, anti-genocide, anti-sectarian, and anti-occupation message, which cannot but incur the wrath of the zionists and their loyal minions”.

Pepe knows well who holds the power that controls the puppets of the West, and if he doesn’t then he has no business writing about such affairs. Like too many of his ilk, he fails the geopolitical litmus test time and time again……

The Church is heretical since Vatican II when the dogmas of the Faith concerning salvation were denied. This is not the first time that the Church has succumbed to heresy and a similar collapse of civilization occurred at the same time. Read the Commonitory by St. Vincent of Lerins . In the Commonitory St Vincent advised that if the Church should succumb to heresy ONCE MORE the only choice for a true Catholic is to cling to the oldest teachings of the Church about which there is no dispute. The necessity of baptism with water and Faith for salvation are the oldest teachings of the Church from the Acts of the Apostles on and were denied at Vatican II including by the faux ‘traditional’ sects.

  50. I am a Catholic by birth and by 12 years of Catholic education, and I have great respect for many Shia elements who defend their homes and fight both the Zionists (through the form of Hezbollah) and the Whabbi/ al saud cryoto-jew vermin ( really one and the same.

Having said that, this Pope is heretical in so many ways and of course a Jesuit to boot (it is popular for relatively Juden-frei Euro nations to tell Americans “Our Jesuits are your Jews) that i cannot help wondering if the murmurs of the Society of Pius XII people about Lucia’s final Fatima prophecy that this is to be either last or second to last pope might not be true.

Sure, rhe previous pope had all the charisma of a damp rag but at least he was a traditionalist in so far as such a thing is possible these days; the cryptojews within the inner sanctum of the Vatican having hollowed out all the ancient and sacred customs at the behest of the Jews!; evrn outlawing the cult of the Holy Infant matyr Simon of Trent! Who was proved beyond any reasonable doubt to have been crucified and murdered by the Talmudic Jews of Trent and crucified with his blood used in their passover meal.

For a very convincing account of how the truth of this was established, see Israel Shamir’s article on here “The Bloody Passover of Democrat Toaff.” Simon’s bones were then literally dumped unceremoniously in an unknown location. This is Hersey beyond Hersey and into outright sacrilege. The ppl responsible for this– if still alive– quite literally merit having the tools of the Inquisition dusted off to deal with them.

In any event, my larger point was that while I respect Shias far than sunnis (in particular the Saudi Wahhabbi vermin who pay for the construction of radical madrassas all over Europe which in turn
produce the vermin that blow up, run or behead our kin, to say nothing of the horrific abuse or our young girls in places like Rotherham. I know many say such things, but if I somehow had a daughter in that area:

When “conservative” media began talking about the evil ChiComs and the scary “CPC” and how China is stealing jobs and ripping off America…fools like you “discovered”, completely independently of course, that China is BAD and you jumped on the bandwagon parroting and squawking anti-China propaganda that’s cooked up by shady neocon think tanks and delivered via limited hangouts like the Cucker Carlson show and controlled opposition like the Fox News network.

Just goes to show that anyone who is dumb enough to trust liberal or “conservative” media or one of the two branches of America’s corrupt political duopoly (including its leaders) will fall for the propaganda these entities are peddling, no matter how ridiculous or idiotic it is.

That’s not opposition to Jesus. Muslims admire Jesus as a prophet.

Muslims “claim” that they admire Jesus. However, their “actions” against the followers of Jesus shows that they are lying.

Some examples from last month: (1)

“Nowhere to Turn for Safety”: The Persecution of Christians, February 2021

Iran: Four converts to Christianity, arrested on the charge of “acting against national security by forming a house Church,” were sentenced to a combined total of 35 years in prison. By forming and meeting in a house church, they were further accused of “widespread association with missionary groups, as well as evangelical Christian groups outside the country.” According to the Feb. 3 report:

“Judge Moghiseh – who has earned the nickname the ‘Judge of Death’ for his harsh treatment of prisoners of conscience – reportedly spoke ‘obscenely’ to the Christians and would not listen to their defence, only citing the report of the intelligence agent.”

Apparently deeming his sentencing too lenient, the “Judge of Death” further informed the Christian prisoners of conscience that “your actions are worthy of death.”
    ____

Malta: In an apparent attempt to kill the apostate and please Allah, a Muslim man stabbed a former Muslim who had converted to Christianity. Simar Halil Hannan, 26, seemingly with the help of an accomplice, stabbed Lamir Mohmmad, 29, in the neck. The men are originally from Syria. During the court hearing, testimony was offered that “In Syria there was a practice whereby if they kill an apostate, they are assured passage to Heaven in the afterlife.” Although prosecution insisted that his client “was now living in terror of the men,” which “led to a heated exchange with the court,” according to the Feb. 12 report, the accused were granted bail.

“Hezbollah believes that in the past two decades, Iraq has been subjected to many trials and multiple wars waged by the American occupation and ISIS Wahhabi terrorism, which are two sides of the same coin against Iraq, its people, its national unity and its social, religious and national components,” the statement said.

Hezbollah expressed hope that the visit would be “an entry point for Iraq to restore its role on the international and regional scene and strengthen its national unity and its natural right to sovereignty and stability”.

The term often translated as “apostasy” in Arabic is irtidad.

There is no Qur’anic imperative to kill one for simple apostasy. None. Not a single individual was ever executed for apostasy in the lifetime of the Prophet.

Irtidad does not refer to simple apostasy. Rather, it refers to insurrection intended to supplant legitimate authority with false-light representation of Islam. This occurred following the worldly passing of the Prophet, when a contingency of parties, in rejecting support for his successor, declared themselves the rightful heirs to Islamic government. This act is notably distinct from simply leaving the religion in that it must occur as a collective action that unmistakably threatens the security of the legitimate authority, which it had upon Abu Bakr’s succession.

The corruption of this understanding occurred with accession to authority of the Abbasid ruling class, who, in misrepresenting the available evidence, rendered simple apostasy capital, thereby adopting Judaic Law for punishment of the same offense. From this point onward, irtidad has been construed as such due to attributions made to major scholars of classical jurisprudence. This is an occasion that the Prophet himself predicted: that God would “remove” knowledge of Him from his people.

So even if were to accept there’s some truth to the often embellished and misrepresented claims of the Zionist Gatestone Institute, it wasn’t Islam itself that assimilated Judaic Law, it was putative Muslims who, ironically, should have been opposed — by force of arms, if needed — according to the proper jurisprudence of irtidad.

These days, however, you’ll find that either apostasy or resistance against Temple Israel is met with far more aggression and destruction than any other type of repudiation on earth.

They are surrounded on all sides by America, and their colonial activities come from an existential need to deter American/Israeli attack. Why should they stop, when you have no ability to resist either America or Iran? If they pull out, then America pulls in. It’s that simple. If you wanted a strong and independent Iraq, then maybe you shouldn’t have lost the wars that made that goal impossible.

But your country is the ultimate loser after 40 years of war, the first of which (not a defeat, but also not a victory) was unnecessarily started by Iraq. So as losers, your options are limited, and you will either be a puppet of Americans or Persians. Iraq’s sovereignty will be nonexistent for the forseeable future.

    Pick your poison.

When fat Henry forced his people to give up the religion of their parents so that he could remarry, and gain title to Church lands, he killed plenty. So did his descendants, I have an ancestor who was hanged by his crazy daughter for refusing to renounce his Faith. And plenty of Protestant kings killed plenty of Catholics. Most of the fighting had little to do with religion and more to do with power and control. The German kings and princes didn’t, for the most part, give a damn about Luther’s Grace they cared about Church property, and wealth. And I’m by no means pretending the Popes and Catholic kings were blameless in Europe’s sectarian wars, but it was clearly a two way street and the Catholic Church has a long list of those martyred by your gentle Protestant monarchs and lord protectors.

The trouble is they make Mohammed a greater prophet. Or perhaps not even a greater prophet but the final prophet.

Not a “greater prophet,” no. In The Qur’an, we read, “We do not distinguish among any of His messengers.” [2:285] This is understood to mean that, while each prophet was given unique objectives to fulfill for his particular time and place, all of them premised their mission upon the same fundamental truth of La ilaha il ALLAH (No god but God).

Prophecy did not end with Muhammad ibn ‘Abdullah. We do, however, hold that he is the fulfillment of biblical prophecy referencing, inter alia, Shiloh (Gen. 49:10), Machmadim (Song of Songs 5:16), and the Paraclete (John 14:17). The uniqueness of “that prophet” (John 1: 21, 25) would be the universality of his message, one which, until his commission, had required a tribal and ethnic assimilation.

But this shouldn’t be troublesome to anyone.

Islam does not seek unequivocal homogeneity among peoples, fully allowing birds of an ethnic and/or religious feather to flock together. Rather, a consciousness of common, fundamental ethical and moral principle among Muslims and Muslims alone defines that unity, independent of their ethnic associations, and the bedrock maxim that shapes political administration is La ikraha fi deen (No compulsion in religion), which is why, for over one millennium, Muslims allowed for Christians, Jews, Zoroastrians, Hindus, and Buddhists to practice their religion under the aegis of Islam.

Today, this principle has become the most commonly accepted means by which to distinguish liberty from tyranny, one which we largely take for granted. The west should appeal to this legacy of the Muslim world as the most effective means of diplomacy, to bridge the gap created by divide-and-conquer antagonists. It may be that the current Pope engaged in such dialogue, though news of the attempt to seek Sistani’s recognition of Israel is concerning.

The vast majority of Muslims aren’t interested in a return to the Middle Ages. They accept the parameters of national sovereignty as currently defined. The primary application of the shari’ah they seek to advance is that respect for this sovereignty extend to all nations, including their own.

Even Israel in Palestine might be accorded this respect if it only had the will to give it.

I fully agree. This is a welcome meeting between two men who appear to have some awareness of the spiritual side of life. Sistani condemns the “displacement, wars, acts of violence, economic blockades, and the absence of social justice to which the Palestinian people are exposed, especially the Palestinian people in the occupied territories.” And Francis says Sistani is “A humble and wise man”. It’s in stark contrast to the authoritarian, war mongering brands of Judaism and Islam ruling Israel and Saudi Arabia respectively. It’s a great tragedy that the stated ideals and influence of America have been subjugated by the predatory financiers operating out of the City of London and Wall Street.

Do you know that Nicodemus and Joseph of Arimathea and Gamaliel were members of the Sanhedrin, witnesses of the Trial?
There is no such thing as the ‘Gospel of Pilate’ but in the fiction literature you read (”The Gospel of Pilate”, by Paul E. Creasy) instead of scholarly one. The document in question is the ‘Gospel of Nicodemus’ or ‘Acta Pilati’, purportedly written by Nicodemus after the records kept in the Praetorium of Jerusalem, ‘gospel’ which was destroyed along with other documents kept in the Imperial archives (like the ‘Report of Pilate to Tiberius’ referred to by Justin Martyr, Tertullian and Armenian Chronicles) during the persecution of Diocletian and replaced with ”forged Acts of Pilate and our Saviour full of every kind of blasphemy against Christ, sent with the emperor’s approval to the whole of the empire subject to him, with written commands that they should be openly posted to the view of all in every place, both in country and city, and that the schoolmasters should give them to their scholars, instead of their customary lessons, to be studied and learned by heart” (Eusebius HE, 9, 5-7). They have been reconstituted after the Edict of Milan, with additions of ‘legendary materials’. They have not been ‘discarded’ by the Church as its widespread diffusion (translated in all vernacular languages of Europe) in the Middle Ages proves. It was actually always considered as ‘semi-canonical’ and included in numerous Bible manuscripts (e.g. The Big Bible Royal 1 E IX in the British Library’ of the 15th century). It left many traces in historical, theological, catechetical, liturgical, devotional, dramatic and literary discourses (most famous one the lterature of the Holy Grail’).

  104. Art says:

Calling him the “Anti-Christ” is probably a little too irrational for the French, who much value their rational intellectual values, but you are right, Pope Francis is looked upon with a lot of suspicion by the French nationalist political dissidence, traditionally sympathetic to Catholicism.

What we are witnessing in my opinion represents the dress rehearsal for the establishment of the reign of the Antichrist, which will be preceded by the preaching of the false prophet, the forerunner of the one who will lead the final persecution against the Church, before the final and overwhelming victory of Our Lord.

We are governed by clinically insane psychopaths; it is a truth so hard to face, an abyss so deep, a source of anguish so bottomless, that it takes an exceptional psychological courage to face it. Very few people can show such courage day in day out.

The key to human survival always was delusion: most humans do convince themselves that things aren’t so bad, will be better tomorrow, etc .. while reality shows the contrary. This is how the human species was able to go on for millenaries: delusion is engrained in its psyche.

Prophet lineage is from Imam Hassan (as) and Imam Hussein (as). You write your name as Hossein (Hussein) and claim to be from Iran. I agree with the following response to you by @Rev. Spooner and I quote him.

Hello Mr Baghdadi, how you sir?
I thought you were blown to smithereens so you must be one of the splinters. That’s a mouthful of venom you have vomited. Feel better now???

  126. @Zumbuddi

But Hussein’s perspective is important for people like me to understand & even respect.
I assume Hossein is Iraqi, and wants his country back.
Sistani — and Francis — represent roadblocks to that happening.
They represent to Hossein the forces that destroyed his homeland.

With 667 comments, you should know now that Hossein claims to be from Iran, and he disguises himself under a very Shia name Hussein, the grandson of the Prophet (saws). He is a troll who calls a Sayyid like Sistani to be from Iran. Sayyid Sistani resides in a meager home next to the Shrine of his father Imam Ali (as). Prophet’s lineage is from his frail daughter Bibi Fatima (as) and Imam Ali (as) and only Wahhabis deny that because they worship the enemy of the Prophet, but Allah (swt) fulfilled his promise to the Prophet.

Holy Quran: Sura al-Kawthar (The Abundance)

Indeed, We have granted you ˹O Prophet˺ abundant goodness. So pray and sacrifice to your Lord ˹alone˺. Only the one who hates you is truly cut off ˹from any goodness˺.

This Abundant Goodness is the lineage of the Prophet through his daughter Fatima and his first cousin Ali, who the Prophet raised as a son. This Abundance Goodness is Sayyid Sistani, Sayyid NasrAllah, Sayyid Khomeini, Sayyid Khamenei, …. And, Prophet’s enemy the Dynasty of Omayyad was destroyed by Allah. It was King Yazid the sixth Caliph who ruthlessly committed war crimes against Imam Hussein (as) and his entire family. It is the Wahhabis who still worship the Kingdom of Omayyad.

Glad to read about the Rosary. Mary is Queen of All peoples.

Shows lack of education. Yes Bibi Mariam (as) is the Queen of All People, and Jesus (as) the Prince of Peace is the Prince of All people. However, Lady of Fatima, the Rosary of Fatima was first introduced by the Prophet to his daughter Fatima. Pope should know his history very well.

    Kind regards,

    Mohamed

This historic saying is actually attributed to Imam Ali, and was inscribed in the banners deployed to welcome the Pope at Najaf: “Men are either brothers in religion or equals in humanity“.

This banner carries a similar message: “We are part of you and you are part of us”

    Salam Beloved Sister,

Thank you beloved sister for correcting the author that the above famous quote is from Imam Ali (as) the great grandfather of Sayyid Sistani. It is the humility of Imam Ali is embodied in each and every Muslim. God is One, Religion is One and We all are One (creation).

The Creator is One, but we address Him/Her with different Attributes.

    Kind regards,

    Mohamed

    Hi Iris,

So you are a French female who speaks and writes English fluently? Like finding a unicorn. My famimy is Acadian (NOT CAJUN). Probably the strangest history of any European group in North America.

We landed and settled the area from Nova Scotia to Maine starting in 1603. In 1755 after the end of conflict with the English, they demanded we sign an oath agreeing to take up arms against the French in the future, which of course we could not do. As a result. All 15,000 of us were loaded onto ships- our homes burned, all property forfeited to English crown.

Of the 15,000, less than half survived. The men were separated from women and children from parents. So many died bc none of the colonies would agree to let Catholics dock in their ports, so most died either of disease or starvation. Some of the children were taken in by protestant families and had their catholicism forcibly drilled out of them- the young girls turned into maids and males into farm slave labor.

Of the survivors- unfortunately many ended up in Louisiana and turned into White Trash. My ancestors were lucky in that they knew how to live Inna Woods off hunting and fishing while hiding in Maine Wilderness from the Brits- so that’s what they did. The irony is that the French despise us (even though most died for refusing to ever agree to fire on them), the Canadians hate us, in the northern US states we were known as “the ni–ers of the North.”

If anyone is interested- Longfellow wrote the story in a relatively short work: “Evangeline: A Tale of Acadie.” Also a well known song about the whole thing from “The Band-” called “Acadian Driftwood.” Acadian history has been completely rewritten by Brits in past years (both for their own PR reasons, fear it would fuel separatist movements to have “Nova Scotia” (Acadia) join Quebec in clamoring for freedom, as well as brit fear we would come screeching with our hands out like Jews.

    Hi Iris,

There is so- so much about 9/11 that needs to be compiled before the jews censor from the net what little is still left. If I put it all together nicely, wonder if Mr. Unz would print it here. There is SO, so much:

    A. FLIGHT 93- so let’s say their official story was true. Why the hell is a gulf stream jet with no markings going down to check the wreckage over an hour after all planes officially grounded? ZOG EXCUSE– it was a private plane they “-asked to go take a look.”

Really? So magically- he was not grounded like every other plane in the US and not made to head for nearest airport? And where is pilot and why no interviews?

My uncle ( since deceased) flew a lot of missions over Vietnam,Cambodia, and Laos during the war. He flew mostly in those odd-looking planes with 2 cockpits– one on either side– generally used for marking targets for A-4 sky raiders and looking for survivors in downed US choppers and sometimes planes.

Flying directly into the sun that way after checking out the ground was a standard technique used when US pilots were investigating something in Laos or Cambodia: both to make it harder for AAA or small arms to see and fire and — if it was a “Prarie Fire Emergency” where they were called suddenly to help a MAC V-SOG team “across the wire– to make it harder for those in ground to make out American markings (since it was an offically denied action).

Thus according to my late uncle uncle, the guys flying that plane that day were 100% former Vietnam pilots working for the CIA.

Given all the advancements in radar, stealth, pilot comms with friendlies in the air- they don’t even teach that technique anymore!

And the engine 3 miles from crash site? Oh no- it wasn’t shot off, it bounced! The people on ground who reported all their electronics going out for 15 seconds (which happens in a certain radius when a missile locks)? Cohencidence- goy. All the debris that was found for miles around? It was the wind- goy.

Granted- not in the military and not a pilot- got my info on this second hand from a family member who was along with things I read in the days and weeks after. Now if ZOG would lie about that — something that vast majority of citizens would have said was completely justified– what the hell else are they lying about?

The jews may have scrubbed it by now- but for the Israeli connection- look into the Israeli messaging firm Odigo (which sent out warnings to Jews about the WTC 45 minutes before and was reported in Haaretz the next day) and Urban Moving and Storage (whose Israeli Jew owner left literally everything he owned in the US and left on the “special” flight to Israel on the 14th or so).

Now- this fucker was the boss of the arrested “dancing Israelis?” Why the hell was he not grabbed by the FBI before he was allowed on any goddam plane?

Stuff like this- you begin to understand why the jews needed Trump out so bad. Oh sure- he was a top shabbos goy. But I could totally see him not fully realizing how responsible Israel was and mentioning some of this at a rally.

Much as I may hate this Pope, might hecnotvhavecbeen trying to make (not really relevant) pararrells between the miracle of Fatima and your Fatima?

Whatever your beliefs- i would highly suggest looking into what happened that day right at the time Lucia said it would. Almost 100,000 people gathered:many catholics- but also atheists scientists- meteorologists, you name it. Just about all agree that something very odd happened that day.

The sun allegedly started to “dance” in the sky- suddenly appeared to be hurdling toward earth as if it would consume it causing some to scream- gasp- fall to their knees- etc…

Now the standard explanation for skeptics is “mass hysteria—” but that doesn’t explain why people miles away- who had no clue anything was meant to happen that day- wrote about the occurrence in their Diaries

Whatever your beliefs the miracle of Fatima is definitely worth looking into just for anyone curious.

If Jesus was punished for blasphemy under Judaism, he should have been stoned to death. Crucifixion is a Roman punishment, usually for criminals. John might have whitewashed the details to show Romans in a favourable light, and to blame only the Jewish priesthood. Already around 65 AD, Jesus’ disciples were in Rome, trying to convert people to their cause. They could not have been successful by blaming Romans for crucifying Jesus. So, the role of Roman governor was whitewashed and only Jewish priesthood was blamed.

Yep-liberation from Western malevolence. The Chinese are hardly ‘Godless’. They have Buddha, Confucius, Lao Zi, Mo Zi, Islam, Christianity, Marx and Mammon and others to pick and choose from. Luckily the psychopathic patriarchal Judaic Sky God and his manifestations are pretty unappealing. Rule by China, which won’t happen because, unlike Westerners they have no interest in it, would emphasise harmony over dominance, and I’ll take that any day.

A trademark spew of Sabbat Goy hate-mongering Islamophobia, and the loon signs off ‘peace’. ‘They make a desert and call it peace’, as Tacitus, who knew a thing or two about A123’s Masters, observed.

Much as I may hate this Pope, might hecnotvhavecbeen trying to make (not really relevant) pararrells between the miracle of Fatima and your Fatima?

Unfortunately you didn’t read my post #129 carefully. I claimed in that post that Bibi Mariam is the Queen of All People, and now I am claiming that Bibi Fatima is the Queen of All People. What does Bibi means, it means “Lady” and what does (as) means, it means “Salam on her”.

You see the respect we show to Bibi Miriam (Mary), so I will never compare the two Bibis. The 100 years old miracle is called either “Our Lady of Fátima” or “Our Lady of the Holy Rosary of Fátima”.

    Why Fatima? And, why Rosary?

I was simply answering to brain dead @Zumbuddi when he made a remark about Rosary. Read my post #129 very carefully. No matter, how much might the Catholics claim that Rosary is the Christianity symbol, those who know history know that 1500 years ago, the very first time Rosary was introduced to the world, when the Prophet (saws) gave the Rosary to his daughter Fatima and taught her how to use it. So, my comment was about Rosary which the brain dead @Zumbuddi claimed it is a Catholic’s symbol given to Pope to Sayyid Sistani. So my dig, “Pope should know his history very well.”

BTW, Sayyid Sistani is from the lineage of Bibi Fatima (as) and Imam Ali (as) and I am sure that he will know his history very well too. Do you know that Shia Mosque have tons of Rosaries for the adherent to use after the Salat.

So, do you think Sayyid uses Rosary all the time? Touché!

    Mohamed

Kissinger and the State Department provded many names that ended up “disappeared” in Argentina. That is something that isnt spoken about much. They used a similar playbook in Brazil too starting in the 60’s. I just realized recently that Bolsanaro who runs Brazil now is a fruit from off that military dictatorship tree. I wondered how Brazil’s politics changed so rapidly in the past decade… Now it all makes sense.

Seems the powers that be wanted to do the same in Iraq (well Saddam was their man — until he wasnt) – but it has failed so far.

  137. @A123

Explain why supposed good protestants such as yourself are such great friends of Saudi Arabia and the UAE…??? They sponsor more Islamic eduction and jihad than anyone. So arent you and the crowd you partake with helping to spread Satan’s message then??? Make up your mind what is more important. God’s kingdom or US hegemony. Choose. They are NOT the same thing.

  138. @Mulga Mumblebrain

“They have Buddha, Confucius, Lao Zi, Mo Zi, Islam, Christianity, Marx and Mammon and others to pick and choose from.”

Mammon worship is more of Chinese virtue than Buddhism or Christianity. But who the heck are Lao Zi and Mao Zi? Are they the evil twins born of the ying and yang of China?

    @Zoom-Copter

Hello ZC; I hope you are doing well.
Thanks ever so much for sharing this poignant story of your people, the Acadian people. I had heard of them, but did not realise that they had been subjected to such incredible level of cruelty, similar to what African slaves went through, really. What can be worst than separating children from their parents? Just another evidence that imperialists have no boundaries and treat all ethnic groups with the same ruthlessness, no matter the skin colour.

The French certainly do not “despise” their North-American cousins. We do laugh a bit a their accent to be honest, but everybody thinks that Quebecois are like the French, just much, much nicer and much less arrogant.

After reading your post, I found this map, which gives an idea of the number of Acadians that were deported, separated from their land and their families. It is so tragic and heart-breaking. So your family was among the “luckier” ones in the red arrows?

Sadly, I have to say that the French government did the same as Britain did; it created penal colonies in New Caledonia, where it deported entire families of poor, or workers who took part in Paris’ popular rebellions of 1848 and 1871, as well as political prisoners from North African colonies. Most of them never came back. Imperialists are all the same.

There is a famous song about the Acadians, written in the 1970’s. I prefer the modern cover by Quebecois singer Natasha St Pier, because she really is of Acadian origin. Now, I can picture you in my mind like the cute little kids in the video, just a little older 🙂

Romans didnt allow Jews to execute anyone. That would have undermined Roman show of control

Bunch of nonsense. Islam and the Islamic Umma, if such exists, are to be ruled by a democratic Shura and not a bunch of unqualified mullas claiming to be from the lineage of Muhammed.

Your Mullas were ascended to power by Imperialist powers to confront the very revolutionary nationalist forces that were trying to cleanse the middle east from Imperialism and colonialism. The war of the camps against Palestinian refugees by Persian financed Amal militias , and the slaughter and starvation of those refugees are one of the hallmarks of Persian imperial puppets involvement in spreading death and destruction in the greater middle east.

Also do you have any documents as proof that descendants of the prophets were entitled to rule over Muslim Umma? None exists. Nada.
