Nixon 68 is back with a vengeance, with President Trump placing himself as the guarantor/enforcer of Law & Order.

That slogan guaranteed Nixon’s election, and was coined by Kevin Phillips, then an expert in “ethnic voting patterns”.

Philips makes for a very interesting case. In 1999, he became the author of a seminal book: The Cousins’ Wars: Religion, Politics, and the Triumph of Anglo-America, where he tracks how a “small Tudor kingdom” ended up establishing global hegemony.

The division of the English-speaking community into two great powers – “one aristocratic, ‘chosen’ and imperial; and one democratic, ‘chosen’ and manifest destiny-driven”, as Philips correctly establishes – was accomplished by, what else, a war triptych: the English Civil War, the American revolution and the U.S. Civil War.

Now, we may be at the threshold of a fourth war – with unpredictable and unforeseen consequences.

As it stands, what we have is a do-or-die clash of models: MAGA against an exclusivist Fed/Wall Street/Silicon Valley-controlled system.

MAGA – which is a rehash of the American dream – simply cannot happen when society is viciously polarized; vast sectors of the middle class are being completely erased; and mass immigration is coming from the Global South.

In contrast, the Fed as a Wall Street hedge fund meets Silicon Valley model, a supremely elitist 0.001% concoction, has ample margins to thrive.

The model is based on even more rigid corporate monopoly; the preeminence of capital markets, where a Wall Street boom is guaranteed by government debt-buybacks of its own debt; and life itself regulated by algorithms and Big Data.

This is the Brave New World dreamed by the techno-financial Masters of the Universe.

Trump’s MAGA woes have been compounded by a shoddy geopolitical move in tandem with Law and Order: his re-election campaign will be under the sign of “China, China, China.” When in trouble, blame a foreign enemy.

That comes from serially failed opportunist Steve Bannon and his Chinese billionaire sidekick Guo Wengui, or Miles Guo. Here they are in Statue of Liberty mode announcing their no holds barred infowar campaign to demonize the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) to Kingdom Come and “free the Chinese people”.

Bannon’s preferred talking point is that if his infowar fails, there will be “kinetic war”. That is nonsense. Beijing’s priorities are elsewhere. Only a few neo-conned Dr. Strangeloves would envisage “kinetic war”- as in a pre-emptive nuclear strike against Chinese territory.

Alastair Crooke has masterfully shown how the geoeconomic game, as Trump sees it, is above all to preserve the power of the U.S. dollar: “His particular concern would be to see a Europe that was umbilically linked to the financial and technological heavyweight that is China. This, in itself, effectively would presage a different world financial governance.”

But then there’s The Leopard syndrome: “If we want things to stay as they are, things will have to change”. Enter Covid-19 as a particle accelerator, used by the Masters of the Universe to tweak “things” a bit so they not only stay as they are but the Master grip on the world tightens.

The problem is Covid-19 behaves as a set of – uncontrollable – free electrons. That means nobody, even the Masters of the Universe, is able to really weigh the full consequences of a runaway, compounded financial/social crisis.

Deconstructing Nixon-Trump

Russiagate, now totally debunked, has unfolded in effect as a running coup: a color non-revolution metastasizing into Ukrainegate and the impeachment fiasco. In this poorly scripted and evidence-free morality play with shades of Watergate, Trump was cast by the Democrats as Nixon.

Big mistake. Watergate had nothing to do with a Hollywood-celebrated couple of daring reporters. Watergate represented the industrial-military-security-media complex going after Nixon. Deep Throat and other sources came from inside the Deep State. And it was not by accident that they were steering the Washington Post – which, among other roles, plays the part of CIA mouthpiece to perfection.

Trump is a completely different matter. The Deep State keeps him under control. One just needs to look at the record: more funds for the Pentagon, $1 trillion in brand new nuclear weapons, perennial sanctions on Russia, non-stop threats to Russia’s western borders, (failed) efforts to derail Nord Stream 2. And this is only a partial list.

So, from a Deep State point of view, the geopolitical front – containment of Russia-China – is assured. Domestically, it’s much more complicated.

As much as Black Lives Matter does not threaten the system even remotely like the Black Panthers in the 60s, Trump believes his own Law & Order, like Nixon, will once again prevail. The key will be to attract the white women suburban vote. Republican pollsters are extremely optimistic and even talking about a “landslide”.

Yet the behavior of an extra crucial vector must be understood: what corporate America wants.

When we look at who’s supporting Black Lives Matter – and Antifa – we find, among others, Adidas, Amazon, Airbnb, American Express, Bank of America, BMW, Burger King, Citigroup, Coca Cola, DHL, Disney, eBay, General Motors, Goldman Sachs, Google, IBM, Mastercard, McDonald’s, Microsoft, Netflix, Nike, Pfizer, Procter & Gamble, Sony, Starbucks, Twitter, Verizon, WalMart, Warner Brothers and YouTube.

This who’s who would suggest a completely isolated Trump. But then we have to look at what really matters; the class war dynamics in what is in fact a caste system, as Laurence Brahm argues.

Black Lives Matter, the organization and its ramifications, is essentially being instrumentalized by selected corporate interests to accelerate their own priority: to crush the U.S. working classes into a state of perpetual anomie, as a new automated economy rises.

That may always happen under Trump. But it will be faster without Trump.

What’s fascinating is how this current strategy of tension scenario is being developed as a classic CIA/NED playbook color revolution.

An undisputed, genuine grievance – over police brutality and systemic racism – has been completely manipulated, showered with lavish funds, infiltrated, and even weaponized against “the regime”.

Just to control Trump is not enough for the Deep State – due to the maximum instability and unreliability of his Demented Narcissus persona. Thus, in yet another priceless historical irony, “Assad must go” metastasized into “Trump must go”.

The cadaver in the basement

One must never lose track of the fundamental objectives of those who firmly control that assembly of bought and paid for patsies in Capitol Hill: to always privilege Divide and Rule – on class, race, identity politics.

ORDER IT NOW

After all, the majority of the population is considered expendable. It helps that the instrumentalized are playing their part to perfection, totally legitimized by mainstream media. No one will hear lavishly funded Black Lives Matter addressing the real heart of the matter: the reset of the predatory Restored Neoliberalism project, barely purged of its veneer of Hybrid Neofascism. The blueprint is the Great Reset to be launched by the World Economic Forum in January 2021.

It will be fascinating to watch how Trump deals with this “Summer of Love” remake of Maidan transposed to the Seattle commune. The hint from Team Trump circles is that he will do nothing: a coalition of white supremacists and motorcycle gangs might take care of the “problem” on the Fourth of July.

None of this sweetens the fact that Trump is at the heart of a crossfire hurricane: his disastrous response to Covid-19; the upcoming, devastating effects of the New Great Depression; and his intimations pointing to what could turn into martial law.

Still, the legendary Hollywood maxim – “no one knows anything” – rules. Even running with a semi-cadaver in a basement, the Democrats may win in November just by doing nothing. Yet Teflon Trump should never be underestimated. The Deep State may even realize he’s more useful than they think.

  1. An undisputed, genuine grievance – over police brutality and systemic racism…

Even Candace Owens understands that police are more likely to be killed or injured by “suspects” than the “suspects” are to be killed or injured by police. The militarization of police departments is a genuine grievance. The relatively few acts of actual police brutality out of millions of contacts in a year is not.
If there is “systemic racism”, it is systemic against White males. There is no genuine systemic racism other than non-specific word games. Is there systemic racism in China? How about Japan?
Societies are a racial construct. They are built for the people/drivers that “invented” the society. Why would a Chinese or Japanese care about what a German or Nigerian thought should be done for their society?

  2. “the real heart of the matter: the reset of the predatory Restored Neoliberalism project, barely purged of its veneer of Hybrid Neofascism.”

What is “a veneer of Hybrid Neofascism,” and how does one purge it, let alone barely purge it? Whatever the decimal point and a bunch of zeros of a one per-cent devise, it will be nothing in the onrushing shit storm that is about to sweep all this away. It’s getting hot, the oil is drying up, species are disappearing, but oh my God the veneer of Hybrid Neofascism is GONE!

This point makes sense. The battle is between:

MAGA – which is a rehash of the American dream – simply cannot happen when society is viciously polarized; vast sectors of the middle class are being completely erased; and mass immigration is coming from the Global South.

And the author becomes lost again.

    Mass immigration can be stopped.

Restoring the concept of U.S. Citizenship based on legal jurisdiction instead of the anti-Constitutional concept of “geographic drop location” immediately crushes the chain effect of illegal immigration. No matter how many generations pass all children of illegals will remain non-citizens.
    ____

The choice this November is obvious and indisputable:

TRUMP – Christian Populism — MAGA — The success of Main Street.
BIDEN – SJW Globalist Authoritarianism — The success of Wall Street and the Deep State.

Only willing Deep State puppets like the author claim that Trump is a puppet. It is the lie they tell themselves so the can look in the mirror while serving SJW Globalism.

  5. Trump will be fine – Covid is already being shown for the mild thing that it always was, and most of the population quietly resigned to this, even if before they were ideological about it. Trump leaving the responses to the governors, well, there’s those United States. And Seattle is simple enough – black people instituting segregation and thinking up slavery for the white population, whilst democratic leaders look on.

Trump will get a big draw from atypical voters this time, because the nutters from 4 years ago are even nutter, and sure he is an Israeli shill, and has crappish foreign policy, but he’s not beholden to DC on domestic policy, and the people that gave him a first chance will give him a second chance.

I’m sure most individual police are not particularly racist, or racist in a kind of lazy default way. But, the polices’ prime directive is to maintain the status quo. To keep working people & the poor firmly in their place. The lower you go down the social hierarchy the more inclined the police will be to give you short shrift. Blacks tend to be at the lower levels of the hierarchy, so they are more likely to suffer from police “impatience”. Shoot/bash/restrain first — then get to the niceties later. Poor whites will receive the same treatment (when a white person says someone is “poor white trash” is s/he making a race or class statement ? I suspect its mostly the later).
The author is correct: this is a class issue, expressed as a race issue. Elites are happy with that. Nothing gets people into an unthinking froth like “Race”.

  14. Escobar’s analogies fit the current U.S. situation perfectly. The article is nicely done. It works well as an explanation for the manufactured chaos that has pitted Americans against one another.

Some of the hostile comments here above dwell on fleeting, maybe peripheral, concerns that inflame those who have already taken sides. But observers positioned far beyond the U.S. 12-mile limit shouldn’t be dismissed for seeing things in clearer and broader perspective.

Escobar’s political overview is positioned way above the brawl. His analysis takes safe distance from the odd things that are going on daily on MSM in order to focus on the eventual political outcome. I particularly liked the description of the Fed as a hedge fund for Wall Street. But just about everything else he has written here also follows the money. He knows what always drives politics in the shining city on a hill.

There is no ‘new cold war’ involving Russia, China and the US. That’s just a big show to keep the masses distracting. Instead, all of these super-powers are collaborating behind the scenes to install global (that is, Globalist) tyranny, as per the UN’s Agenda 21. Everything that has happened so far this year–the Fed’s ‘reset’, the fake Black Death, the synthetic race-riots–is part of the roll-out for Agenda 21, which, as the name indicates, is due to begin next year.

    I like that paragraph.
The powers ‘that be’ fear Trump for what he’ll unleash in a second term because they don’t totally control him. Remember when they used to say ‘Let Reagan be Reagan’ way back when. I of course pray that he is reelected and pray even harder that he will be more independent of the Zionist/NEOKHAN/Globalist Beast. We shall see.

  17. Trump can’t run as the “law and order” candidate and be taken seriously. He allowed a para military coup to take place on U.S. soil in Seattle, and that on top of the riots all over the country. He’s too busy playing 3D chess with Democrats to do his job as commander in chief. So while he sat back and let the Democrats deliberately let cities burn and one city to become occupied by an invading force and declare a new govt, he’s still fighting Neo con wars in the middle east. Exactly the opposite of what he should be doing. I’ll take him over Biden of course, not doing so would be insanity!

    @Curmudgeon

Pepe Escobar’s moralizing schmaltz there and elsewhere jumped off the page at me as well. I wonder if he’s related to Geraldo Rivera.

Racism in America is two-fold inasmuch as racism is first and foremost the white liberal belief that blacks are so inferior to them that the former are incapable of distinguishing right from wrong or accomplishing anything on their own; and, second, de facto racism in America means blacks are ten times more likely to commit violent, racially motivated crimes against whites than the other way around.

The sort of blacks causing the problems are penned up in hellish projects designed by leftist, politically motivated architects to be devoid of any trace of human scale or livability. The purpose is keeping urban blacks in a state of perpetual disaffection, demoralization, and material dependency that ensures they can be bussed around town to vote several times for the local Jewish real estate machine, or nationally, for the Democratic Party whose bureaucrats take for themselves 70 cents out of every welfare dollar that Dems like Pelosi and Kaine pretend are for welfare. What a racket.

Now the real estate moguls will be buying up the property at ten cents on the dollar and getting federal money to rebuild. Some things never change, and so-called urban renewal as always remains a boondoggle for the real estate crowd. Pelosi’s bullshit about education will once again amount to a boondoggle for the communist teachers’ unions who’ll take at least 70 cents of every dollar that’s not scooped up by the real estate crowd to build hideous schools whose inhuman design intentionally duplicates the horrors of the projects these kids go home to.

I didn’t say other occupations were not more dangerous. The old net boat fishing, Atlantic or Pacific, had horrendous death rates. Trawlers have reduced that. Mechanization of mining has reduced death rates in that very dangerous occupation. Tree harvesters have reduced death rates in logging, but it’s still dangerous. Smelters are dangerous. In the factory I worked in in the 60s, I saw more fingers and hands lost to last a lifetime. More farmers are killed every year than cops, and many times more horribly injured. That is not the point. The point is that the chances of being killed by a cop or brutalized by a cop are less than a cop being killed by a suspect. Doctors kill thousands of times more patients than cops kill suspects, or suspects killing cops, but I don’t see any riots or people demanding the abolishing of the AMA.

I understand what the police are there for, and don’t disagree that there is a class element. Most of the police themselves, do not understand the real political agenda. They see themselves as helping the community, which in 95% of the cases they are, however imperfectly. My point is that the police answer to politicians, and sheriffs are politicians. Cops, despite what they think, are no different than the man on the shop floor, they have rules laid down by their employer, and if they don’t follow them, they risk termination of employment.
Those that point out their “immunity” from prosecution, fail to recognize that it exists only if the employer agrees that they have followed the rules. That is no different than a nurse at a hospital being sued. If the rules weren’t followed, the hospital will dismiss the nurse. The police force will dismiss the cop. In both cases it is to protect the employer from liability lawsuits in the litigation crazy US jewdicial system.

There are many layers to this shit. Pretending their isn’t doesn’t help.

A lot of really powerful people are terrified of Trump coming at them in Spring of 2021 with indictments. Obama, Killary, Brennan, Comey, Strozk, McCabe, Rice and many, many others are running scared that Zion Don will turf Barr and get an actual AG, a Giuliani type, who wants to make a name. None of the corrupt are irreplaceable and they all know to keep their mouths shut or end up like Epstein. What choice do they have but to take it? I expect to see this early spring because without any economic news on the happy side, Trump will need to throw some red meat to America and clearing out some seditious swamp scum would make a lot of sense and restore some faith for the GOP.

This is a coup attempt, the latest in 4 years of bullshit from the leftist Jews, their ‘Media’ and their Deep State scum buddies, and all Trump has to do is be cautious and absorb the body blows until he can land a knockout punch in November. Joe Biden for Prez? Really. With black HItler, aka Stacey ‘I can’t put down the fried chicken’ Abrams, as his running mate ole’ Pedo Joe will preside over the biggest Democratic defeat in history.

I have never seen such political desperation before. These guys are calling in every favor under the sun and burning through political capital like it’s $30/bbl oil. Blatantly siding with rioters and telling the middle class voter that policiing and safe communities are ‘white prililege’ has got to be the stupidest political calculus I’ve ever seen. None of this is rational, decisive political strategy. I see desperate people playing a very dangerous game -especially at the municipal level. You lose your cops and you are screwed at a municipal level. Atlanta is under the control of absolute hacks.

It is never a good strategy to try to mobilize and lead a Mob. I think the Democrats could slowly start losing cities over the next few years.
Politicians do have the option of caving to the Mob. The problem is that the rational voters aren’t the mob. The rational voter can just turf these clowns out of Atlanta city council or any city council or state legislature. The next election cycle at the state and city levels is going to be bloody.

Poor whites and poor blacks (and poor browns and poor yellows) may share economic interests, but when one’s violent and property crime and bastardy rates are a multiple of the other’s, the more responsible group’s small-but-hard-earned gains are severely threatened, on a day-to-day basis.

The biggest difference between today and 1968 is that Trump is forced to play not just Nixon’s part, but Wallace’s as well.

The Deep State’s candidate, Humphrey, was humiliated in the election. (Though not as badly as his son was by Jesse Ventura. Skip finished third.) Humphrey was actually of a more radical mind than McGovern, but their backers went the opposite way.

Well, they’re not going to vote for the Teuto-Celtic Norman Vincent Peale-mainline Protestant real estate machine!

This is awfully close to home for the President.

  36. What is wrong with this guy? I started to read it but then came this tidal wave of code talk. Code talk that no one but Pepe could understand.

I was stupefied. Why would some lunatic write such garbage? But more: who would read such idiocies?

It really made me scratch my head. Pepe, m’hijo? Stop making no sense. k?

https://flightaware.com Daily trips from China to LAX, for instance…. This site isn’t just so you can track your spouse’s flight from wherever or two wherever…. Meaning, the media lies again! And so do politicians! I smell a sinister agenda here….

    More intellectual meaningless verbiage

There may be some of that, and I”ve been a big critic of Pepe’s articles on Unz, bu this, IMO, is brilliant … putting into words what we all know but couldn’t articulate so well..

This article has some really good stuff in it !!! E,g, …

When we look at who’s supporting Black Lives Matter – and Antifa – we find, among others, Adidas, Amazon, Airbnb, American Express, Bank of America, BMW, Burger King, Citigroup, Coca Cola, DHL, Disney, eBay, General Motors, Goldman Sachs, Google, IBM, Mastercard, McDonald’s, Microsoft, Netflix, Nike, Pfizer, Procter & Gamble, Sony, Starbucks, Twitter, Verizon, WalMart, Warner Brothers and YouTube.

After 3,5 years ….. absurd. The 3D chess meme can’t be revived.

The democrat Jew commie black cities are the enemy of Whites. Let them destroy themselves.

70 years ago the commie Jews encouraged and helped black drive the Whites out of the cities by terrorism and violence. The Whites were replaced in the cities by non Whites who were rewarded with jobs and government grants according to how strongly anti White that are.

Let the cities destroy themselves. Think of them as the fortresses of a hostile occupying force.

Just curious, but has anyone noticed that things basically are still the same as they pretty much always have been?
My last hope is after the win in November, Trump will return to the man I know him to be. If not, I am done.
I voted for Trump to be President Trump. He is not even close to the man I believed him to be when I voted for him. I have continually been let down.
After the election in November I don’t think he has any excuse for not just clearing house and kicking butt. There is no excuse or reason to not do this. This is our (The American People’s) only and last chance to get this done.
Do we only want to start meekly?
I think our only chance is to go in stronge and don’t stop until we win.
    Do we not want justice?
    Do we not wamt peace?
    Do we not want freedom?
Do we not want what we have been promised?
Have we not learned the establishment is not on our side?
Have we not seen the establishment is not on or side?
The game has been rigged against us for too long, and it is not too late.

  51. @Digital Samizdat

Not at all. From another angle, Corona was and is, a global entente of the elites(mentioned this in previous comments, starting March of this year). WWI, and WWII also, both had preconceived elements to it, and comprised more of the players in parlay as to the outside of the paradigm. Ideas then individuals, then facts, could be converted here and today into the Corona concept as a derivative of AI and genetic manipulation wet dreams, then power players on a planetary scale, all seeing the interest of experimenting, then …facts(medical non-impact of the Corona phenomenon, a non-issue).

What is certain, there is a gap between the de facto elites and the surplus populations in homogeneity which is impossible for the duds, waste, surplus(we gladly include ourselves without false humility but with authenticity) to overcome, even conceive of it.

To myself, my essential question, are the de facto elites thinkers(few within the blob, apart from the co-opted mercenary middle-class outsiders) and organization stark enough to harness real long term progress, or is it all “crowing on a pile of dung”. There are major flaws, as energy expenditure(now seemingly addressed by the induced change in con-Z-umerism in the West), solutions for the bulge of the world population, the speed of “progress” versus organic derivative growth. These and other bottle-necks, are they timely addressed? No direct opinion. It is impossible for any outsider to rely on data in the public domain, as one goes by rectal extraction.

You might be right about Pelosi – but actually you are wrong about public housing projects. Most public housing was NOT for blacks. Blacks were left in the slums and public housing was for “good white people”. It was only after suburbanization allowed for whites to flee cities altogether were blacks allowed in public housing.

  55. Hegar says:

Pepe Escobar is pushing the lie that leftists who turn against immigration have invented: “it’s the CAPITALISTS who are behind immigration!”

MAGA against an exclusivist Fed/Wall Street/Silicon Valley-controlled system. … Yet the behavior of an extra crucial vector must be understood: what corporate America wants.

Oh, so it’s NOT Jewish socialist media owners and socialist Hollywood who have pushed for mass immigration for several generations, Latino?

Your type keep avoiding this. And if you are pressed to mention them, you’ll go “Well, they’re not a government department, so that means they’re CAPITALIST!”

They support every leftist cause. They invented most of what’s in the leftist causes like feminism, drug legalization and homosexuality. They want a flood of voters who’ll push leftism like massive welfare to buy votes, massive Affirmative Action, huge taxes for businesses and wealth creators to pay for it. But they can’t be leftist because they’re not the government! Genius.

So those who are really behind BLM and immigration are the ones who will be forced to accept non-Whites taking their seats in boardrooms because of quotas, and who will be forced to pay extremely high taxes once all of the U.S. is run by screeching, radical leftists permanently. Sounds like a logical plan.

Leftists like Pepe never mention the socialist professors who write all the books for the leftist propaganda machine. The socialist professors in U.S. universities create the agenda that spreads throughout the West. The sociology books are all in English from the U.S. They praise Karl Marx, Sigmund Freud and other leftist Jews in the foreword.

Pepe instead prefers to claim that shoe companies are behind Black Lives Matter. Because they donate some money. To organizations run by … leftists. Oops, let’s not mention that.

What “class” are the Black rioters, Pepe? Working class. If you claim leftists in boardrooms are motivated by what class they belong to, why don’t you mention that one, Pepe?

Oops, then suddenly the motivation isn’t class. When it comes to those who actually CARRY OUT the crimes.

But people in boardrooms, who have been brainwashed throughout their lives by leftist media, leftist Hollywood, leftist school teachers, leftist university professors – oh, THEY are to blame, and they do what they do because of “capitalism”. And let’s forget the leftism they’ve been surrounded with for generations. Right?
