After the massacre of five Dallas cops, during a protest of police shootings of black men in Louisiana and Minnesota, President Obama said, “America is not as divided as some have suggested.”

Former D.C. Police Chief Charles Ramsey, an African-American, says we are “sitting on a powder keg.”

Put me down as agreeing with the president. For when a real powder keg blew in the ’60s, I was there. And this is not it.

In 1965, the Watts area of Los Angeles exploded in the worst racial violence since the New York draft riot of 1863 when Lincoln had to send in veterans of Gettysburg. After six days of looting, shooting and arson in LA, there were 34 dead, 1,000 injured, 4,000 arrested.

In 1967, Newark, New Jersey, and Detroit exploded, bringing out not only the Guard but the 82nd Airborne. After Dr. King was assassinated on April 4, 1968, a hundred American cities burst into flame.

Troops defended the White House. Marines mounted machine guns on the Capitol steps. Thousands of soldiers patrolled the city. The 7th and 14th street corridors of my hometown, D.C., were gutted and would not be rebuilt for years. That was a powder keg — that went off.

But only crazed cop-haters applaud that Dallas atrocity by the delusional anti-white racist Micah X. Johnson. As for the shootings of Philando Castile in Minnesota and Alton Sterling in Baton Rouge, almost all agree they must be investigated, and justice done.

Chief Ramsey says he expects trouble at the conventions. But if Black Lives Matter shows up to raise hell in Cleveland, then that is going to be a problem for Hillary Clinton.

This writer was on the 19th floor of the “Comrade Hilton” in August 1968, looking down as Mayor Daley’s finest marched up Balbo to Michigan Avenue, then stormed into Grant Park to deliver street justice to the radicals calling them “pigs.”

“A police riot” liberals raged. The cops beat “our children” up.

Richard Nixon came down on the side of the cops, carried Illinois and won the election. Liberals were still calling “law and order” code words for racism. Most Americans had come to recognize they were the indispensable elements of a decent and civilized society.

“Richard Nixon,” lamented Hunter S. Thompson, “is living in the White House today because of what happened that night in Chicago.”

This weekend, Rudy Giuliani called Black Lives Matter “inherently racist.” Does he not have a point?

After the death of Eric Garner in a police takedown, Black Lives Matter led mobs onto the streets and highways of Manhattan chanting, “What do we Want? Dead Cops! When do we want them? Now!”

In anti-police demonstrations since, another chant has been, “Pigs in a blanket, fry ’em like bacon.”

This is pure hatred, and as it is directed against white cops, racist.

Obama should tell Black Lives Matter to stop the hate. But though he has shown no reluctance to lecture white America, he has rarely shown the same stern judgment with black America.

Now there is no denying that urban black communities are among the most heavily policed. Why? As Heather Mac Donald, author of “The War on Cops,” writes of a city she knows well:

“Black people make up 23 percent of New York’s population, but they commit 75 percent of all shootings. … Whites are 33 percent of the city’s population, but they commit fewer than 2 percent of all shootings…

“These disparities mean that virtually every time that police in New York are called out after a shooting, they are being summoned into minority neighborhoods looking for minority suspects.”

ORDER IT NOW

As these percentages are unlikely to change, we are going to have more collisions between black males and white cops. Some will end in the shooting of black criminals and suspects and, on occasion, innocent black men. Some are going to result in the death of cops.

Mistakes are going to be made, and tragedies occur, as with the shooting of 12-year-old Tamir Rice, killed in Cleveland while waving a toy pistol.

But if there is to be a social explosion every time an incident occurs, like the deaths of Trayvon Martin, shot while beating a neighborhood watch coordinator, and Michael Brown, shot in Ferguson after trying to grab a cop’s gun, America is going to be permanently polarized.

And there is no doubt where the majority will come down, and who will be the near-term beneficiary.

Monday, Donald Trump declared himself “the law and order candidate,” and added: “America’s police … are what separates civilization from total chaos and destruction of our country as we know it.”

And Clinton? On Friday, she said, “I’m going to be talking to white people. I think we’re the ones who have to start listening.”

Prediction: If Black Lives Matter does not clean up its act, Obama and Clinton will have to throw this crowd over the side, or the BLM will take her down.

Patrick J. Buchanan is the author of the new book “The Greatest Comeback: How Richard Nixon Rose From Defeat to Create the New Majority.”

  1. My prediction is that, regardless of who wins the election, none other than Barack Obama will be appointed as special envoy to BLM. After all, race riots are bad for the status quo so valued by the banks and other crony capitalists who own Obama, Killary, and yes even Trump.

I agree with your analysis, Pat, but I think Trump lost a golden opportunity last August when BLM took over a Bernie Sanders rally and, in effect, prevented him from speaking to the followers who had assembled to hear him. That was very reminiscent of the tactics employed by Hitler’s Brown Shirts in the 20’s. Those same tactics would later be turned against Trump, as BLM’s organized violence caused him to call off a scheduled rally in Chicago just days before the Illinois primary. Trump should have openly condemned BLM’s Nazi-like tactics when they were used to shut down Democrat Bernie Sanders’ rally. By speaking out on behalf of a political opponent of the opposite party, Trump would have taken the high moral ground and put Hillary on the defensive, especially if he pointed out that George Soros was both a major financial backer of BLM and Hillary’s campaign. BLM should be condemned as a hate group, just as bad as the KKK used to be when it actually had followers.

Pat is correct. BLM is now seen as the enemy of Law and Order. If Hillary continues to castigate whites and praise BLM it will result in a Trump victory in November.

Blacks are just 14% of the population, and 90% vote democrat. Hillary continues to pander to this group because if she fails to get high black turnout in November she will lose the election…if Black turnout recedes to levels observed in 2004, 2000, 1996 Hillary will lose in November.

if Hillary attacks BLM it may suppress the Black vote. This is why she fears attacking BLM and hopes by pandering to them she will get the required Black turnout in November. But 85% of the voters are not Black. The BLM movement has alienated hispanic and Asians, and they have seen that the BLM movement considers hispanics and Asians to be white when they shoot Blacks. Thus if she continues to support BLM the democrats will lose hispanic, Asian and white votes.

  9. If BLM intends to improve the lot of African Americans it is counter productive. George Soros is getting his moneys worth.

The only lives that matter to Hillary are the lives of her donors. But she will continue to support BLM. She has too.

Black Americans are being used. And not in a good way. As are we all.

  10. Faust says:
    @Realist

I live in a small, relatively suburban, city in Massachusetts. It is bordered by a relatively small town with a minimal black population. Yesterday, our newspaper had a laudatory article about the people in the bordering town marching in support of BLM.

Once again, I had to wonder . If I brought facts and logic to the conversation, would it change anyone’s mind?. BLM came to the fore after the death by cop of several apparently innocent men, Later investigation has shown that many were not so innocent. In more recent days, several more black men have been killed and it does truly appear that the killings were not justified. If that proves to be the case, it is tragic. But, let us step back a moment. It has been shown many times that our system of justice, trial by jury, has resulted in the execution of innocent men. Another tragedy, but no one is calling for demolition of the justice system. It does appear that better evidence must be required and the system examined for faults. The same seems to be the logical way to deal with policing.

Not all cops are perfect. I had one tell me that he was in the job because all he knew was how to kill people. He was later killed in a shootout with other cops. This does not alter my opinion that most cops wish to do the right thing. Still, I have seen enough bizarre police behavior to feel that some investigation is warranted. It also has to be remembered that many “inner city” cops operate in a “war zone”. “collateral damage” is to be expected. We live in sad times. It also troubles me that when I go to my local police station I find the cops hiding behind bulletproof glass. Are they truly in fear of the Americans? Are they not even more isolated? When I was a kid in the same city, the police operated behind a long mahogany bar. It was perhaps not the friendliest place in town, but it wasn’t “us and them”.

Good points that she simply cannot condemn them. Even if most Black people do not condone BLM behavior, they almost all agree with the goals, and they have a powerful sense of tribal unity. Any attack on BLM will be viewed as an attack on Blacks and they will sit on their hands in November.
Perhaps the strategy is for Soros to keep funding BLM through the Republican convention to see if the disruptions will somehow scare voters off of Trump. If they don’t, then he can pull their leashes back (or at least try to, maybe it can no longer be done at this point) so Hillary won’t have to be seen pandering to them through the election season.
Sadly, times are looking interesting. And here I had been looking forward to the opportunity to happily and quietly decay away in my old age.

  18. KenH says:

No, Hillary won’t ditch BLM. The really unsettling aspect of it is that this nation and political establishment is so corrupt and culturally Marxist that associating with BLM poses no significant political liability or risk. Even the criticism by most of the FOX talking heads has been tepid and Trump has only mumbled something about Obama’s weak leadership and being the law and order candidate, but otherwise didn’t rebuke BLM in any way.

If Pat is correct that Hillary’s refusal to ditch BLM will lead to a loss then I don’t want her to ditch them so she loses and loses big.

Things are different this time, Pat.

This time the Commander in Chief is a Soros puppet who wants a socialist revolution. Soros seems to be funding another “color revolution” in this country. Also, his current published investment strategy anticipates major financial destruction in the US.

The current street revolutionaries might become covertly armed and protected by the US government. The end game may be martial law, hiding a stealth coup by Obama against the current Constitution. Even if this summer’s troubles fail to equal 1965 troubles in the city streets, the mass media can easily play it up as requiring martial law or activation of other provisions within current law.

If the junior officers in the armed forces fail to recognize a such stealth coup as treason, you can wave bye-bye to our constitutional republic.

All of this is entirely conceivable now as a real possibility. In 1965, it would have been unthinkable.

  20. Priss Factor [AKA "Anonymny"] says:

“For when a real powder keg blew in the ’60s, I was there. And this is not it.”

But in the 60s, US was 90% white, and most whites acted dramatically against the black/radical violence. Even most white Democrats were appalled by the violence and mayhem. Whites knew what to do and had the pride and confidence to do it. It was when Daley said ‘shoot to kill, shoot to maim’ and didn’t apologize for it. If anything, Chicagoans loved him for it.

In contrast, even if cities won’t blow up this time around, whites are far less powerful, and younger generation has been far more castrated into dorky defenselessness.

In the early 70s, even angry Democrat whites were out in force opposing busing.

Today, even white cons haven’t the guts to oppose either ‘gay marriage’ or section 8 invasion of suburbs.

If cities are less volatile today, it’s due to Diversity. Immigration and Gentrification(and section 8) made blacks less a presence in many cities.

That has been one reason why Libs like immigration. Use the Diversity flood to wash away the blacks from cities. Better brown, yellow, and even Muslim than black, the biggest problem in America.

5 innocent white cops have been killed, but there is no white rage, no white revolution, no white unity. Even Trump is just weakly urging ‘peace’.

If 5 white officers had been shot by a negro in the 60s, whites would have shown some pride, unity, and rage.

George Wallace is long dead and gone.

Black homos are wising up to the fact that Jewish/white homos are for gentrification and pushing blacks out.

In other words, homo agenda has been used to send blacks to the back of the bus. But black homos are trying to change the character of the homo agenda by making it favor black issues.

“Dallas atrocity by the delusional anti-white racist Micah X. Johnson”

Not again. This is why White Folks lost. They played the Glob game of using ‘racism’ as pejorative.

Racism or race-ism is the Fiber. It is the ethnic, cultural, and spiritual FIBER that holds White People together. Lose the Fiber, then you will lose the unity, lose the identity, lose the existence.

Look at roots. Look at fabric. They are held together because the fiber are tightly wound together.
If the fiber weakens, you end up with loose threads that are easy to tear off.

Nothing lasts without the Fiber. Race-ism is the Fiber, and stronger the race-ism, stronger the fibers that hold a race together.

Look at Israel. It is held together by the fiber of identity, history, heritage, blood, territory, sexuality, and nationality. All those fibers are threaded together.
Jews know that this is the source of their strength. Naturally, they want the fibers of OTHER peoples weakened. Jews believe RACE-ISM FOR ME, NOT FOR THEE. Strong fiberism for us, loose fiberism for you.

Lending support to your point is the fact that this past Sunday on a local political talk show that follows This Week on local Channel 10 in south Florida (owned still I believe by the Washington Post company) and has been hosted for years by a guy named Michael Putney, one of the three guests was a representative of BLM. So, as far as the MSM is concerned, BLM is a legitimate mainstream political organization and not a black version of the KKK, treated with a lot more respect than the Tea Party ever was.

    Beware of Foreign Labor.

  27. Though I am one of the few commenting here who thinks that Black Lives Matter has a legitimate point, I think the Harpy is thoroughly cynical in backing them. She is cynically manipulating the minority vote to retain it as a “firewall” and her real views are strictly authoritarian, certainly much more so than Trump’s. If indeed as I eventually expect to happen she backs off from this view, it will again reveal her cynicism in light of her strict authoritarian mindset in exploiting this issue. This puts her is in a box: if she continues to espouse this view done as a calculated effort to help her gain power, the traditional US absolute respect for authority will damage her with non-black voters. When she realizes therefore that she has to back off, then her cynicism is again revealed in a teachable moment which will cost her the enthusiasm she retains among black voters. Of course, Trump should also bring up the blowback from the Libya overthrow which Clinton sponsored as secretary of state. This blowback includes a mass liquidation by the triumphant jihadi element in Libya of sub-Saharan Africans Khaddafi had allowed to settle in Libya as part of his belief in African unity. The terrorist element murdered them as “mercenaries.”

The Historic Native Born White Majority can not presidential election cycle-policy wonk itself out of this demographic tsunami. There was a time that Pat Buchanan used to be an able political commentator. That time has gone long ago. I don’t know whether it is age or something else, but race-baiting is the only thing that left in him. These days Buchanan cannot write one single paragraph without resorting to smearing Blacks or Hispanics or Muslims. And in doing so, and in turning the whites against the blacks and Hispanics, without him realizing it, Buchanan is doing the bidding of those who took America for a ride, who like nothing better than seeing the whites, and blacks and Hispanics turn against one another.

I have yet to see Pat Buchanan condemn those police officers who murdered so many black men and got away with it. I have never seen him calling for justice for these victims of the police. Instead, Buchanan is condemning the activists of Black Lives Matter who are calling justice for black victims. Black Lives Matter members do not have any power. All they have is complain, condemn, and demonstrate, and call for justice for the victims of the police. However, apparently, condemnation and calls for justice are too much for Pat Buchanan.

Dr. Hanan Ashrawi, of Palestine Liberation Front, said long ago, “The Israelis want us to die silently!” Similarly, Pat Buchanan clearly wants the African-Americans to die silently. That is why the calls of Black Lives Matter that call for justice for Black victims irks Buchanan so much!

  32. War for Blair Mountain [AKA "Groovy Battle for Blair Mountain"] says:

    Cam41

Your question is very easy to answer. Native Born White Americans are the victims of Police Brutality also. But we are not calling for the murder of Police Officers. Blacks commit crime at a much higher rate than Whites. This would cause them to have much more frequent contact with law enforcement which means they will be subject to a greater scale of police brutality.

The larger issue:Black Lives Matter effectively acts as a Death Squadron for the Democratic Party. It is no exageration to say this. And let us be very clear about something:the black male youths who have become the martyrs of the Black Lives Matter Death Squad Movement were young Black Male Thugs who deserved what they got. Police Officer Daryl Wilson was exonerated by a majority Black Female Jury in the shooting of Michael Brown. Notwithstanding, wealthy Jew Noam Chomsky…multimillion \$\$\$\$\$\$\$\$ home on Wellsfleet Cape Code…has stated that the racist murder of Michael Brown should be used as a larger social justice movement across the US by young Black Americans. Well, the murder of 5 Police Officers in Dallas was a direct consequence of Noam Chomsky’s and the homosexual War Criminal Kenyan Foreigner’s agitation for race hate against The Historical Native Born White American Majority.

Native Born White Americans have the “great priveldge” of being taxed to death to pay for their demographic displacement so Hillary Clinton who agitates for racial violence against White Police Offices can be announced POTUS at 8PM Nov 8 2016.

I don’t give a hoot about the welfare of Blacks anymore than they give a hoot about the welfare of The Historic Native Born White American Majority. Blacks are in a political coalition with Chinese..Koreans..Hindus..Sihks…Mexican Gang Bangers…Hmong….Nigerians….homosexual pedophiles….and Muzzie Gang Rapists in Idaho.

So here is my response to Blacks:A VERY BIG F OFF!!!!!!!!!!!!

Sorry to hear about your retarded brother. I bet he isn’t a billionaire with a record of success in business in a highly competitive field. If he is, then you should start paying closer attention to what he says. If that is the case, perhaps you are wrong about which brother is retarded.

As far as Trump is concerned, I don’t see how a “complete idiot” could have achieved as much success in business as he has, not to mention several billion dollars in assets. A “complete idiot” does not manage to secure the Republican nomination by spending as little as Trump did or by having such a lean campaign organization. There is a reason why Robert Kraft, the owner of the NE Patriots who seems to be rather capable in his own right, has referred to Trump as a “financial genius.” A “complete idiot” does not manage “to shift the Overton Window and strike a serious blow to the monster that is political correctness,” as you readily concede Trump has done. I assure you that I am not a “complete idiot” or “retarded” like your brother, and I watched every Republican debate. In my considered opinion, Donald Trump stood head and shoulders above the other 16 Republican candidates he vanquished. He was invariably right on the issues, far more than those other clowns seeking the Republican nomination, many of whom did not seem to appreciate the danger of tangling with nuclear-armed Russia in Syria and elsewhere. I am very comfortable with the thought that Donald Trump may be our next President, far more than I am with the dreaded thought that the incompetent Hillary Clinton will be.
