Of 895 slots in the freshman class of Stuyvesant High in New York City, seven were offered this year to black students, down from 10 last year and 13 the year before.

In the freshman class of 803 at The Bronx High School of Science, 12 students are black, down from last year’s 25.

Of 303 students admitted to Staten Island Technical High School, one is African-American.

According to The New York Times, similar patterns of admission apply at the other five most elite high schools in the city.

Whites and Asians are 30 percent of middle school students, but 83 percent of the freshman at Bronx High School of Science, 88 percent at Staten Island Technical and 90 percent at Stuyvesant.

What do these numbers tell us?

They reveal the racial composition of the cohort of scientists and technicians who will lead America in the 21st century. And they tell us which races will not be well represented in that vanguard.

They identify a fault line that runs through the Democratic Party, separating leftists who believe in equality of results for all races and ethnic groups, and those who believe in a meritocracy.

Mayor Bill de Blasio has expressed anger and frustration at the under-representation of blacks and Hispanics in the elite schools. But Gov. Andrew Cuomo and the state legislature have ignored his pleas to change the way students are admitted.

Currently, the same test, of English and math, is given to middle school applicants. And admission to the elite eight is offered to those who get the highest scores.

Moreover, Asians, not whites, are predominant.

Though 15 percent of all middle school students, Asians make up two-thirds of the student body at Stuyvesant, with 80 times as many slots as their African-American classmates.

The egalitarian wing of the Democratic Party sees this as inherently unjust. And what gives this issue national import are these factors:

First, the recent scandal where rich parents paid huge bribes to criminal consultants to get their kids into elite colleges, by falsifying records of athletic achievement and cheating on Scholastic Aptitude Tests, has caused a wave of populist resentment.

Second, Harvard is being sued for systemic reverse racism, as black and Hispanic students are admitted with test scores hundreds of points below those that would disqualify Asians and whites.

Third, Joe Biden has a history on compulsory integration dating back to the 1970s that Sen. Jesse Helms called “enlightened.”

Here are Biden’s quotes, unearthed by The Washington Post, that reflect his beliefs about forced busing for racial balance in public schools:

“The new integration plans being offered are really just quota systems to assure a certain number of blacks, Chicanos, or whatever in each school. That, to me, is the most racist concept you can come up with.

“What it says is, ‘In order for your child with curly black hair, brown eyes, and dark skin to be able to learn anything, he needs to sit next to my blond-haired, blue-eyed son.’ That’s racist!

“Who the hell do we think we are, that the only way a black man or woman can learn is if they rub shoulders with my white child?

“I am philosophically opposed to quota systems. They insure mediocrity.”

That was 44 years ago. While those views were the thinking of many Democrats, and perhaps of most Americans, in the mid-’70s, they will be problematic in the 2020 primaries, where African-Americans could be decisive in the contests that follow Iowa and New Hampshire.

Biden knows that just as Bernie Sanders, another white male, fell short in crucial South Carolina because of a lack of support among black voters, he, too, has a problem with that most loyal element in the Democratic coalition.

In 1991, Biden failed to rise to the defense of Anita Hill when she charged future Justice Clarence Thomas with sexual harassment. In the Senate Judiciary Committee, he was a law-and-order champion responsible for tough anti-crime legislation that is now regarded as discriminatory.

And he has a record on busing for racial balance that made him a de facto ally of Louise Day Hicks of the Boston busing case fame.

How, with a record like this, does Biden inoculate himself against attacks by rival candidates, especially candidates of color, in his run for the nomination?

ORDER IT NOW

One way would be to signal to his party that he has grown, he has changed, and his 2020 running mate will be a person of color. Perhaps he’ll run with a woman of color such as Stacey Abrams, who narrowly lost the 2018 governor’s race in Georgia.

An ancillary benefit would be that Abrams on the ticket would help him carry Georgia, a state Donald Trump probably cannot lose and win re-election.

Wrote Axios this morning:

“Close advisers to former Vice President Joe Biden are debating the idea of packaging his presidential campaign announcement with a pledge to choose Stacey Abrams as his vice president.”

Patrick J. Buchanan is the author of “Nixon’s White House Wars: The Battles That Made and Broke a President and Divided America Forever.”

WHY AFFIRMATIVE ACTION IS IMMORAL, IMMORAL AND IMMORAL.

Thanks, Sir. I agree with you. I did not know Joe had a brain once.

There are 3 reasons affirmative action is immoral.

    a. It is immoral, that one person gets a benefit due to his race, not his qualifications.

    b. It is immoral, because when an underqualified black gets admitted, it is NOT going to make him any better. He will graduate with a fake diploma and turn to crime, anyway. Like it is said, cheap lemonade in a wine glass is still lemonade.

Or a monkey in a suit will still be a monkey.

A million dollars worth of education goes down the drain.

    c. It is immoral, because that seat could have gone to a qualified white, who would have done society and himself some good with that education.

  3. The country is done
    We had a great run
    No sanity under the sun
    Lefty anti-Constitutionalism stuns

  4. In the Georgia governor’s race, nearly half of Stacey’s campaign contributions came from out of state and much of it had the name Soros attached to it. She is also a member of the Council of Foreign Relations which in my opinion disqualifies her from holding elected office or any taxpayer funded job.

  5. Daniel H says:

Second, Harvard is being sued for systemic reverse racism..

There is nothing reverse about it, Pat. Discrimination/racism against whites/asians is racism/discrimination, pure and simple. Don’t nod to the left and justify their semantic contortions.

  7. Uncle Joe likes Stacey because she reminds everybody of Mammy in “Gone with the Wind.” A harmless fat and lovable nincompoop of color. But if, or rather when, Uncle Joe croaks in office, imagine Mammy with with her finger on the button. Worse, imagine Mammy at a summit with Putin. How embarrassing that would be, if not fatal?

If Uncle Joe wants a female running mate of color, he should call Nikki and ask her to change parties. He might even get my vote, if he promises to croak or resign in a year or two.

“In 1991, Biden failed to rise to the defense of Anita Hill when she charged future Justice Clarence Thomas with sexual harassment”…so maybe Joe should now choose Hill as his anointed running mate. She’s still around, still indoctrinating gullible youth at Brandeis U. with her toxic feminism. A cult figure now with the #MeToo-ers, another buttress of the disloyal opposition. Or maybe the Dem’s will just hold up poor ‘ol Joe to ridicule in Milwaukee & use him as their dis-clusion whipping boy, before casting him on the cultural slag heap. And then they can go ahead and go diversity full-nelson by nominating a Hill – Abrams ticket to Make America Quake Again.

  9. @Colin Wright

It was Eddie Murphy, I believe, who pointed out why no candidate can choose a black running mate as veep. Because right after inauguration, a thousand blacks will be fighting to see who can assassinate the president first, and then live like an emperor in prison for the rest of his life. Of course, this was before Obama.

Biden and Abrams seem about equally senile. And Abrams isn’t content to play Pence to Biden’s Trump. We will have two gafftastic politicians occupying the executive branch with neither moderating the other.

I think it’s too late for that. At this point, consistency is important. Besides…Palin has too much personality. Pence adds an element of calm to Trump’s mercurial personality, and probably gives a lot of people, beyond the deplorables, a measure of relief to know that a boring but intelligent guy would be in charge if anything happens to Trump.

Personally, I don’t think Pence is so much “deer in the headlights” as he is overly adoring of Trump, even by Vice Presidential standards. I know part of it is posing for the cameras, lest they catch him with a disapproving look while Trump is speaking, but it’s still, to my taste, way overdone. I wish he’d just have a more natural, pleasant look on his face rather than looking like he is casting his gaze on one of God’s angels.

Yet President Potato continues to encourage and push forward the Yinon Plan with greater fervor than ever before and in exchange, domestically, we get ABSOLUTELY NOTHING. We deplorables are tired of President Potato’s MIGA (Make Israel Great Again) and don’t want another Zionist whore. Ah, the goold ole days when hair plugs Biden actually expressed common sense on race. But today that would be decried as white supremacism and white nationalism.

We all know that the reason for forced racial integration in schools wasn’t so blacks could learn better, which has proven patently false, but so negro sperm could fertilize white eggs. It was to habituate white girls with black males.

Prior to school integration, interracial dating and intermarriage was around 1% but a few years ago the marriage rate had risen to 10% with the bulk of those white women marrying black males and it might even be a little higher today. So (((they))) have succeeded and have created a large number of pitiable mulattoes who are angry and confused and who harbor animus towards whites.

At least they’re telegenic and give men something to look at.

I’d like to see Trump dump Christian Zionist Pence. But dumb-as-dirt Palin would guarantee a Trump loss, just as she was an anchor that sunk Bomb Iran McCain in 2008. I almost never watch TV anymore, but every time I take a peek, the shows are full of inter-racial couples or gay lovers. My wife recently suggested I watch the new show “The Fix.” It is actually quite good, with Marcia Clark of OJ fame as the executive producer. It just about parallels the OJ case with enough exceptions to make it fiction. The suspect, a black movie star, gets acquitted of the murder of two white women, and 8 years later, murders another white girlfriend. The lead male prosecutor, white, is also in an interracial marriage. Given today’s PC environment, I’m wondering how it ever got made, since it shows the black murderer as being more sinister looking than OJ ever was.

  23. @TTSSYF

Pence “overly adoring of Trump?” He, as well as the Deep State, can’t wait until Mr. Trump croaks. Perhaps, and I’m only thinking out loud, Trump is the only thing standing in the way of Netanyahu’s lifetime dream of wiping Iran off the map. I believe Pence, along with Pompeo/Bolton, share that dream. They could well think it is the precursor necessary to build the Third Temple and bring about the Second Coming. Perhaps I exaggerate.

  24. Just joking, but I think a Bernie-Biden or Biden-Bernie ticket would be fantastic. On election day 2020, Bernie (born before Pearl Harbor) will be 79 and Biden 78. They could call themselves the Pre-Boomer geriatric ticket, similar to what happened in the pre-Gorbachev dying days of the USSR, when Andropov followed by Chernenko each died after about a year as Chairman (and those guys were several years younger than B-B). Anyway B-B win, but both soon wind up croaking. That would make Speaker-for-Life Princess Pelosi president, and she’s older than both of them. But, no matter, women live 8 years longer than men.

  25. @Anon

I feel your pain. I too regret that Trump is a Jew. Who do you suggest I support in the next presidential election? Or should I boycott?

  26. @follyofwar

I share your concerns about Pence. But I cannot agree with your assessment of Palin. McCain was the dummy in that pair. The Dems made Palin dumb like they make Trump evil. I could agree that Palin was “not ready for prime time”. But that was then. If Trump has a problem I think it’s not the Dems so much as keeping his Deplorables on the Reservation. I think Palin would help, especially with white women. And she would be acceptable to Pence fellow religionists.

Do you think Palin would run knowing that the Media would demonize her 24/7 and the Dems would do everything possible to put her friends, family and associates in prison?

  28. @WorkingClass

IMO, Palin, with all of her family baggage, would be crazy to take the job, and Trump would be crazy to offer it to her. The sock-puppet MSM will demonize ANY conservative with the audacity to run and mess up their NWO plans. If Trump had it to do over, I doubt if he would have run either.

Allowing kids into slots in which they do not belong feels good for a lot of people, but ultimately does not do the kids, the schools, nor anyone else any favors.

Unless the schools drop their academic standards the kids will not do well.

In the traditional prep curriculum, kids with 130-135 IQs and a lot of development (had been in the prep system since K) were B students at best. I was 130 without a lot of development. Years after graduation, I had word from someone on the board of my school that they had since dumbed down the curriculum for minority students.

It generally took a 140 IQ+ to do well. The kids who did well at my school variously work as doctors, high end lawyers, as wall street guys and for non-profits. The old money yet academically less talented went into careers like commercial real estate. One or two of the talented ones stayed in academia. Sports recruits generally hung around the 120 mark if I had to guess by my interactions with them, which I would bet would be high for the typical Black Stuyvesant applicant. Those kids struggled for their academic career: cheating as much as they could just to keep up. Anyone who was recruited for sports and fell below that general IQ mark was held back one year. On the street, people at the 115 mark are considered to be relatively bright.

Decades later, I still have the occasional nightmare about falling behind in high school classes and not graduating. Which I suppose speaks to the academic stress. I never actually did fall behind and I graduated no problem. In comparison to high school, college was a breeze.

The other downside for kids that get slotted into higher end schools in which they don’t belong, which no one ever talks about, is that they miss out on building any social capital in their appropriate school environment that has traditionally been at least a little bit of an advantage when trying to find and make a living in an IQ appropriate field.

These kids that go to academically inappropriate schools from lower socioeconomic (SES) backgrounds, and yet fail to move onto the next step that kids who belong there move on to, get fed back into the SES environment from which they came but without the connections and survival insight that they would have otherwise built up when going to school among their own. The school was able to look good to the PC police but the student was ultimately harmed, even if he or she is able to write a little bit better as a result.

It follows that a rule of thumb for feeder schools such as Stuyvesant should be that they should not let anyone in whom they cannot reasonably predict will go on to be admitted and succeed at ranked private college or a first tier State University. If they cannot predict that for the student, and do not do everything in their power to help them get there (because the parents most often will not have the advisory knowledge), then they are exploiting the student for their own public relations purposes. What I suggest is a good yardstick for admission because it promotes school accountability to the student and at the same time protects the school itself.

  35. @follyofwar

I agree. Pence, the ugliest neocon in politics today, seems to slaver over the idea of Trump dying in office. I wondered why he was Trump’s pick for VP. There must have been a deal involved.

Would an attack on Iran help or hurt Trump’s chances in 2020? Any attack would no doubt be preceded by a false flag, maybe approaching 9/11 in scale. Or would another false flag chemical attack, with pictures of many dead children of course, be enough? Or has Boobus Americanus finally caught on to that oft-repeated scam?

An attack on Iran would dramatically increase tensions with Russia and China, maybe drawing them in to the fighting. So, unless the next election in cancelled, attacking Iran at the opportune time might guarantee 4-More Years for the Tweeter-in-Chief. 9/11 is what propelled W to a temporary 90% approval rating, and probably secured his re-election. War with Iran, based on yet another Big Lie, could be ‘Rally Round the Flag time.

I’ll admit it could go the other way, which is why I used words like would, maybe, might, etc. Most Americans, outside of the Ziocon Israel-firsters, are sick of endless war. 49. When 30% of the middle schoolers in the USA are white & Asian, and when a majority of the top-paying slots in the economy go to a small slice of that white / Asian group due to scientific or technical merit, it leaves a ton of other humans to employ, just in the white / Asian group much less in the other 70%, less a few high-achieving minority outliers.

The problem is compounded by assortative mating, which has already halved the size of the college-educated middle class by keeping two of the few household-supporting jobs under one roof. This supplies a lot of Barbie princess palaces for working feminist moms and an absolute ton of expensive, globetrotting vacations. What used to be a once-in-a-lifetime trip to Europe at retirement, or a honeymoon trip financed by affluent parents, has now become a regular vacation destination due to wealth concentration from assortative mating. But we no longer have a middle class in the USA, a country where 95 million citizens between 16 and 65 are out of the labor force and where the average employed person works part time.

That includes a lot of these high-performing students once they get out of college, landing that family-friendly, above-firing, six-figure job. Now that computers are doing more of the work—at the top and the bottom of the wage pool—dual-high-earner parents are taking even more long vacations while retaining two household-supporting jobs.

It is a lot easier to control for merit at the level of elite high schools than in workplaces.

American has never had so many college grads, elite college grads, people with graduate degrees, minorities with degrees and women with all manner of undergrad and graduate degrees. The vast majority of the highly educated people occupying top slots have children, and working parents are accommodated to the max by employers, worshipful grandparent babysitters, low-paid babysitters with NannyCams and daycare workers to 1) work and 2) take off a ton of time (for kids [and for fancy global vacations]).

Despite all of the academic testing and the unprecedented levels of higher education, America has some awful statistics, like the most expensive healthcare system in the world, with 3 years of unprecedented, declining life expectancy for whites. America has a plethora of blighted cities. These areas are full of predatory lenders and other “financial institutions” that would look at home in a Third World s******e country. America has the highest number of incarcerated individuals in the world: 5% of the world’s population and 25% of its prisoners. America saw a 300% increase in mass shootings between 2011 — 2014. Many of these heinous mass murders were committed by kids barely out of high school—kids from affluent, dual-high-earner households in quite a few cases.

It is important not to punish hard work and intellectual talent by favoring mediocrity, but it not just the academic hoop-jumping that counts in the end. After the top-grade adults get all of their academic laurel wreaths, they sometimes fail to produce products and services that really improve society, rather than just ensuring a Barbie femimist-princess palace, exotic overseas trips every couple of months and a private school for every member of their DNA dynasty. America has much bigger problems than just making sure that the right high schoolers get their due.

You are ommitting the most important aspect of your equasion and that being 90% of the families concerned are staunch liberals/ democrats , and this house of cards has been set up by them and for them, and at a point not too far in the future the economy is going to crash with a resounding thud, and these very same liberal assholes are going to see themselves in a Venezuelan situation in which they are holding titles and degrees which have become worthless.

The most amazing element of this dilema is that they are incapable of forcasting these unavoidable results themselves, simply due to their own stupidity and lack of insight.

Liberals, world-wide, consider themselves to be, after the completed revolution, the future honchos anyway.

One thing for sure, Joe won’t be massaging Stacey.

  54. NYMOM says:

“The kids who did well at my school variously work as doctors, high end lawyers, as wall street guys and for non-profits. The old money yet academically less talented went into careers like commercial real estate.”

And why do we need to have them attend a top-notch science school to enter any of these professions…

Perhaps we should just look to create more elite high schools programs within larger high schools that would give talented minority (not necessarily gifted) kids a shot at a decent education without them having to pass a test to get into a science school…

What about that as an idea?

  55. Stacey Abrams puts the UGLY in ugly. I like Trump’s comment about her when she was running for
Georgia Gov: “She will turn Georgia into Venezuela.” The democratic POTUS contenders are all
pretty frightening. Maybe they can change the law to allow more than two to run on a ticket.
How about a hydra of Booker, Kamallah, Warren. Biden, Abrams and Sanders.
