Our mainstream media largely ignored it, the world media did not.

Ascending the stairs of Air Force One on Friday, to fly to Georgia, President Joe Biden slipped and stumbled. Getting up, he slipped again and then fell. The scene was jolting and disquieting.

Adversaries abroad will use it as a metaphor for the decline of the last superpower to emerge from the Cold War.

And while our major media may scoff at it, there is talk all over this town about what appears to be the visibly declining physical and mental capacity of this oldest of American presidents at 78.

Biden’s press conference this coming Thursday — after the longest delay before a first full presidential press conference since Cal Coolidge — will be as closely monitored as Ronald Reagan’s second debate in 1984, after he seemed to suffer a mental lapse in his first debate with Fritz Mondale.

But now, after his legislative triumph with the enactment of his \$1.9 trillion American Rescue Plan, Joe Biden has some new problems, all of his own making.

The COVID-19 pandemic he inherited, as Nixon inherited Vietnam in 1969. But Biden and the nation were fortunate in that, by the time he took the oath, two vaccines had been approved and the shots were being given to Americans at a rate of a million doses a day.

The new crisis on America’s border, however, with record numbers of children, teenagers and families arriving and asking for asylum, is almost entirely Biden’s doing.

By trashing Donald Trump’s border controls as inhumane and promising a more compassionate policy, Biden sent word to Central and South America and the world that the U.S. borders were open again. The result is what we see nightly on TV: Migrants crossing over into the USA in record numbers, with no end in sight.

What Gov. Andrew Cuomo did to the nursing homes of New York — send COVID-positive patients back into them — Biden is doing to the USA.

Of the thousands of illegal immigrants entering our country daily, few are tested for COVID-19 before being moved into the American heartland, carrying the infection with them.

How do you control a pandemic when our 2,000-mile southern border is a crossing corridor for thousands of infected every single day?

Biden’s people call this a “challenge.” But for the country, which seemed to be pulling out of the pandemic, it is a medical and security emergency and a national crisis.

Yet, it is not only on the domestic front that Biden and his people have created for themselves new and unnecessary crises.

Biden is only two months into his presidency but already has brought U.S.-China relations to the lowest level since the Tiananmen Square massacre of 1989. And he has brought U.S.-Russian relations to the lowest level since Nikita Khrushchev blew up the Paris summit of May 1960 over President Eisenhower’s refusal to apologize for the U-2 spy flight over Russia that the Soviets had shot down.

Biden is himself responsible for the poisoned relations with Russia, after telling ABC that, yes, Vladimir Putin is “a killer” whom he once told to his face that he had no “soul.”

In chilling relations with China, Secretary of State Antony Blinken has played the lead role.

ORDER IT NOW

Before taking office, Blinken publicly charged the Chinese government with “genocide” in its treatment of the Uighurs. He then opened the two-day Anchorage meeting with a two-minute indictment of China for its actions in Xinjiang, Hong Kong and Taiwan — and got back a blistering 20-minute Chinese counterattack. The thrust of Beijing’s response:

Xinjiang, Tibet and Hong Kong are Chinese national territories, and how we rule there is none of America’s business. Nor do you Americans have any superior moral claim or right to sit in judgment on us, given your own record with indigenous peoples and Black Americans.

Nor do you have any right to impose your democracy or values on us, when we prefer our system and our values. As for your claim to define for the world the so-called rules-based international order, we reject that, too, and intend to erect an order based upon our interests and our values.

So, stop trying to impose your democracy on us or the rest of the world which may not want it. The U.S. delegation can speak for the United States. It does not speak for the world, much of which openly rejects it.

By calling Vladimir Putin a “killer,” Biden seems to have aborted the kind of summitry with Moscow in which Presidents Eisenhower, Nixon, Reagan and Bush I engaged during the Cold War when the Soviet Union was a far more menacing and hostile power than Putin’s Russia is today.

From Biden’s behavior in his first 60 days, we already seem fated to endure years more of deepening Cold War with Russia and China.

To what end this Biden-Blinken in-your-face diplomacy?

I deeply respect Mr. Buchanan, but in this case, IMHO, he is missing the point.

The ‘crisis’ at the border is not a ‘crisis’ – it’s the plan. The surplus population of the overpopulated third-world has been invited to just come here en masse, the better to drive wages down and rents and profits up. It’s not a bug it’s a feature!

I mean, letting every ‘unaccompanied minor’ from places like Guatemala in – it’s not the children you see in the corporate press most of them will be in the ages of 15-21 (you don’t REALLY think they are checking that they are not over 17, do you?).

The median age of a high-fertility rate third world country like Guatemala is about 14. That means that most of the population is now welcome to come here no questions asked!

And of course, not only are we accepting unlimited numbers of ‘unaccompanied minors’ – we are also accepting unlimited numbers of ‘family units’ – so that’s basically everyone.

And as the flood of third world refugees accelerates, and wages go down and poverty and homelessness go up, no worries, because you see it’s all due to climate change and white racism!

A swamped border will lead to amnesties, paths to citizenship, “Ellis Islands on the Border” and shipping immigrants all throughout the country to turn purple states blue. They’ve officially stated that they want to bus and fly people apprehended near the border of Mexico to the border of Canada!

  5. unwoke says:

“The U.S. delegation can speak for the United States. It does not speak for the world, much of which openly rejects it.”

No it can’t. The Harris/Biden delegation can’t speak for half (& growing) of the United States either, which openly rejects it. It wasn’t even legitimately elected. Who’s going to fight for them? Their rag tag fag army? The PLA must be just itching for a chance to blow them away. Two minutes of that little zionist pipsqueak Blinken should be all anyone needs to realize just how dodgy the whole rotten “U.S.” delgation is.

  6. To what end, the belligerence? War. Profit even in the losing. Biden’s group is owned. All of (((it))), just look at the roster. Oh yeah, it’s ON.

  7. You know — sometimes things are open to interpretation.
Perhaps when Old Joe said that Putin has no “soul” he means Putin has no rhythm?
Putin, unlike Joe, simply can’t get his funk on. Thus, we can guess, Joe going up those plane steps was actually practicing a bit of a down, hep, jiving dance step.
    So “killer” here obviously means
something like “bad” ie good. For all his faults, Putin is really a killer guy…..of course — I could be wrong……

The primary goal of the Jewish led left is to diminish the voting power of white people, wipe out the political opposition and create a one party state. That’s why they are trying to bring in as many poor brown people as they can and grant amnesty to as many as they possibly can.

That’s why they are trying to increase the already ridiculously high one million “legal” immigrants per year to 2.5 million. This way they can flip Texas by 2024 ensuring that no Republican can ever be president again.

  13. You get senile old career political fools like Biden and Pelosi in charge of the government when you fail to have a required retirement age and no term limits. The Soviet gerontocracy hastened the fall of communism – and they were considerably younger than Biden and many Congressional leaders, who only achieved their positions of power by their ridiculous seniority system, not by merit.

Prior to Kennedy, Eisenhower was the oldest president at 70, and that was after two terms in office. Then came Reagan, who whose dementia may have begun even before his second term. Then came Trump, who was 70 upon assuming office. Trump did some good things, but it would be ridiculous for him to make another run in 2024, when he’ll be the same age as Biden is now.

Biden is daily making a fool of himself. It would be a laughing matter if it wasn’t so pathetic. The biggest culprit in pushing Biden’s candidacy is the person who knows him best – the conniving Dr. Jill. If she ever had her husband’s best interests at heart, she would have stopped him from running. Jill is now a modern day Edith Wilson, who ran the government as she covered up for Woodrow, and hid his incapacity after he suffered a disabling stroke. We are in deep doo-doo, with people long past retirement age in positions of power.

The coming of President Harris is a lead-pipe cinch. It’s just a matter of time, and Biden’s time is getting short. Might as well get Joe out of there before he falls down the whole flight of stairs and breaks his neck. Joe has pushed the Far Left GloboHomo agenda since day 1. He signs whatever Executive Orders are put in front of him. He hates White deplorables, and wages domestic war on us.

    Mr Buchanan,
I purchased/read your book on the Unnecessary War and respect you for it.

But mindlessly regurgitating false accounts about a media-contrived “massacre” serves only to lower your credibility. Please research facts abt this false hyper-emotive lie.

    The story that Chinese troops machine-gunned hundreds of innocent student protesters on the night of 3rd or 4th June 1989 has been thoroughly debunked by many of those present in the Square on those nights. Among them was a Chilean diplomat (Second Secretary), a Spanish TVE television crew, a correspondent for Reuters, and protesters themselves, all of who said nothing happened that night other than a military unit telling the remaining students to leave the Square;

What amny of their supporters dont realize is – in actuality – taking in more legal immigrants based on qualification will also result in brain drain. As those nations suffer brain drain they become more unstable – which makes the people at the bottom more desperate and more willing to try to migrate illegally. Its like a circle.

  22. Lately, I’ve been mulling over just what morality and Ethics are or with what they concern themselves,

“Nor do you Americans have any superior moral claim or right to sit in judgment on us…As for your claim to define for the world the so-called rules-based international order, we reject that, too, and intend to erect an order based upon our interests and our values.”

and it seems to me that if one is passing judgement upon events over which one has no control, then, that is not a moral judgment. It is something other than that.

    To be moral is to be an active agent. Moral is a verb, not a judgement. Consider the following;

Some people are attempting to cross a river that separates two countries. Before they can land on the other side, they are caught by border patrol, who orders them to turn back. The people turn back but, being unable to swim, begin to drown.

A man who is distantly related to the drowning people yells at the border guards to save them. He yells that they should deploy a boat or throw life preservers. The border guards ignore him because they have neither life preservers nor a boat at their command. Besides, the invaders are on the other country’s side of the river, which is not their territory, so they have no legal right to intervene. The man yelling makes no effort to save the people either; he spends his energy chiding the border guards and filming the incident with his cell phone.

Okay, now let’s see how my theory can help us disentangle what is moral from what is not.

First, you and I read of this incident on the internet a day after events transpired. Nothing you or I say amounts to a moral judgement. We had and have no capacity to intervene, therefore we are not morally involved in the situation. It’s done. Over. Whatever we say cannot alter the outcome so it is more of an expression of sentiment, a way to influence how we shall interpret the event going forward, a political statement, a statement of politics.

Secondly, the man chiding the police could have intervened, could himself have waded into the water to save the drowning people whom he professed such concern about. But he didn’t. Now this is a moral judgement, a moral event. He had the power to intervene and chose not to, chose instead to prod others into action while he watched from the sidelines. He judged others to be morally deficient while he himself failed to live up to his own moral judgement. A failure. A deeply immoral person, by his own reckoning.

As for the border agents, again, they could not cross the border to intervene. Their jurisdiction ended in the middle of the river and had they invaded the other country, they would have been held liable for any unforeseen negative consequences–what if one of the invaders had died in the arms of his or her would-be rescuer? How would the press have interpreted that? What spin would they have put upon it? We can be sure that they would have engaged in “moralizing” i.e. passing judgement upon events over which they have and had no control, which, as I have said, is not the same thing as being moral.

So, the frontier of your power is the limit to which you should be the subject of moral judgement. Whites today are not to be held accountable for slavery in the South since there is no way in which they can or could influence those events. Same goes for the alleged holocaust. Biden should not wag his finger at China because, as China points out, the USA is powerless to change China’s internal policies.

So. people who pass so-called moral judgments upon those who were powerless to influence events are not themselves being moral in doing so. They are not doing morality. They are doing something else, and it usually amounts to a power play, an attempt to guilt trip someone, to hamstring them, to put them on their back foot so as to gain an advantage over them in events going forward.

Biden’s current puppet masters will also be Harris’s, and the fact that, even now at her peak, she’s a dullard guarantees that little will change when she replaces Biden.

Plus, the speedy replacement of Biden by Harris will expand the disrepute of the 2020 “election” and widen the fissures between the Democrat party’s internal factions. And, best of all, that Harris becomes the US’s first woman President will eat up The Witch of Chappaqua more bitterly than anything else ever could.

I totally agree with you comment. Last week Tucker Carlson went to El Salvador to interview its president. Mr. Ortez said the same thing. Too many of its best young people have left the country (they’re not all MS-13 criminals) in search of what they hope will be a better future in the US, instead of staying and working to make their home country better. Tucker said that 1/3rd of Salvadorans are now living in the US, millions illegally.
