“We have met the moment and we have prevailed,” said President Donald Trump Monday, as he supported the opening of the U.S. economy before the shutdown plunges us into a deep and lasting depression.

Tuesday, Dr. Anthony S. Fauci, the nation’s leading expert on infectious diseases, made clear to a Senate committee his contradictory views.

“If states reopen their economies too soon, there is a real risk that you may trigger an outbreak that you may not be able to control,” said Fauci. “My concern is that we will start to see little spikes that might turn into outbreaks of the disease (and) the inevitable return of infections.”

Fauci is talking of the real possibility of a second and even more severe wave of the pandemic this summer and fall, if we open too soon.

There is evidence to justify the fears of Fauci and Dr. Robert Redfield of the Centers for Disease Control, who told the same Senate committee, “We are not out of the woods yet.”

Yet, there is a case to be made for the risks that Trump and red state governors are taking in opening up sooner.

The Washington Post daily graph of new deaths nationally has been showing a curve sloping downward for a month from April’s more than 2,000 a day. On no day yet this week did the U.S. record 2,000 dead from the virus. On some days, there were fewer than 1,000.

The graph for new coronavirus cases, which was showing more than 30,000 a day in April, is now closer to 25,000.

Also, hospitalizations and ICU occupancies are not as high as they were. Hospitals put up in Central Park and the Javits Center seem not to have been needed. There was and is no shortage of ventilators. The Navy hospital ships Comfort and Mercy are returning to their home ports.

Also, not all states are suffering equally, nor are all communities in the hardest-hit states. There have been three times as many COVID-19 cases in New Jersey as in Texas, though New Jersey is a fraction of the size and has a fraction of the population of Texas.

There are twice as many cases in Massachusetts as in Florida, the nation’s third-most populous state with one of its highest percentages of retirees and elderly. There have been five times as many cases in New York as in California.

It is the nursing homes filled with the elderly and ill that have proven to be the real killing fields of this virus. According to The New York Times, one-third of all deaths from COVID-19 have come among residents and staff of nursing homes. Beyond these are the meatpacking plants and the prisons where social distancing is almost nonexistent.

Moreover, while Fauci and Redfield are specialists in epidemics, Trump’s portfolio goes far beyond that.

He is chief of state, head of government and commander in chief, responsible for the security and defense of the nation. His portfolio is broader and deeper than those of Fauci and Redfield.

ORDER IT NOW

In the first hours of the Normandy invasion, General Eisenhower must have been rightly alarmed about the high U.S. casualties on Omaha Beach. But he also had to concern himself with the failure to capture the Port of Caen to bring ashore the armor to stop any German counterattack that might turn D-Day into another Anzio.

Ike could not worry about casualties alone.

According to The Washington Post, economists already project that 100,000 small businesses have shuttered, never to reopen.

“(D)eeper and longer recessions can leave behind lasting damage to the productive capacity of the economy,” warned Federal Reserve Board Chair Jerome Powell on Wednesday. “Avoidable household and business insolvencies can weigh on growth for years to come.”

Ultimately, Fauci is not “The Decider” here. Trump is.

It is he who is accountable to the nation for weighing the losses, both human and material, due to his decisions.

Fauci may be the best at what he does, but he is still only an adviser. As John F. Kennedy said after the Bay of Pigs, it is the president who ultimately bears responsibility for what he does and fails to do, while “the advisers may move on to new advice.”

Believing he can do no more than his White House is now doing to contain the incidence of cases, hospitalizations and deaths, Trump has decided his primary job is to prevent the nation from a catastrophic economic collapse from which it might take years to recover.

The country is slowly moving in Trump’s direction, slowly opening. And he will be responsible for whether the policy succeeds or opens the floodgates to a second and worse wave, should it come.

As Abraham Lincoln put his situation: “I mean to keep going. If the end brings me out all right, then what is said against me won’t matter. If I’m wrong, ten angels swearing I was right won’t make a difference.”

Patrick J. Buchanan is the author of “Nixon’s White House Wars: The Battles That Made and Broke a President and Divided America Forever.”

Fauci says that, “My concern is that we will start to see little spikes that might turn into outbreaks of the disease…”

The problem with his statement is the first two words. A science advisor is supposed to provide advice based knowledge and science. It is not part of his job description to voice his feelings.

In this case, it doesn’t matter who is “right”… only one of them is POTUS! I get it that Trumps perch on his seat is tenuous and exactly how much real control he has over the government he supposedly heads is open to speculation, but at the end of the day Trump is POTUS and this is no time to be thinking of political futures…he must be focused on the future of America.

We need not only an end to the lockdowns, but an end to the media campaign to demoralize the country by hyping the non-event known as corona virus. It is all hype. when you get past the spin and media blitz, there is nothing about this virus that would justify any kind of response beyond your doctor testing you for covid along with the flu when you go to the doctor with flu symptoms. That’s it.

This is simply not the life altering virus that is being hyped. The enemy here is NOT the virus, it is the (((elites))) who are trying to destroy us. It is time people…it is time.

Years ago my doctor prescribed an anti-viral medication for a cold sore I got on my lip, but she told me I had to apply the ointment right away (in the very early stage) because it wouldn’t work if I applied it later. I could NOT believe it – it worked! My cold sore hardly broke the surface.

It’s the same thing with this COVID virus. In the early stages (fever, aches, dry cough stage) you want to take an anti-viral (reducing the viral load). If you get to the shortness of breath stage and you’re off to Emergency, anti-virals will no longer work. At this point your body’s immune system is entering a cytokine storm, fighting itself, and you need steroids and blood thinners to stop the inflammation caused by your immune system. Apparently the glass-like appearance on the X-rays is not from fluid on the lungs.

The following video by medical doctors successfully treating this virus was put out on April 5th. They wonder why the WHO is not following this protocol consisting of inexpensive off-patent drugs.

    https://covid19criticalcare.com/

“Our MATH+ protocol is designed for use in hospitals, to counter the body’s overwhelming inflammatory response to the virus. It is this hyper-inflammation, not the virus itself, that damages the lungs and other organs, and ultimately kills. We have found the MATH+ protocol to be the most effective way to bring down this extreme inflammatory response. The steroid Methylprednisolone is key.”

There’s a lot of mileage to be gotten out of being a doomsday prophet as Fauci says all sorts of bad things “might” happen. They’re saying that it’s not going to go away so if that’s the case we may as well face it. People with health issues need to plan how they’re going to deal with it; young healthy people can go about their business. Flattening the curve was to prevent the health care system from being overwhelmed and since that’s not the case the lockdown isn’t needed any more. It’ll probably come out that NY was as bad as it was due to third world levels of incompetence and inefficiency along with the blundering stupidity of the political class. It’s reported that in NJ officials forced care homes to take in virus positive patients thus spreading it there. Where’s the two million dead the prophets of doom told us was a sure thing? Common sense has to prevail. Let’s see what happens in Wisconsin and Florida.

You don’t know much about science or scientists, now, do you?

When I entered the laboratory every duty day I had concerns. I was concerned about the fume hood filters. I was concerned that we had enough sterilization solutions to keep the workers’ areas decontaminated. I was concerned that someone’s sudden absence due to illness might be an indicator or a laboratory-bourne infection by the pathogens we handled every day. And, so on. And, so on.

And, finally, I’m concerned that Fauci is right and that Trump, the seemingly science idiot that he has proven to be, and, the slave to wall street that he’s always been will sacrifice many Americans needlessly so as to serve his financial overlords.

Mine are all rightful concerns. And, I’m a retired biological / clinical scientist.

If that’s so, then you need to read my post above (No. 4) and then listen to the video. For SOME reason, Fauci is REFUSING to follow what these doctors have found success with. Why do you think that is? Because if he did, then perhaps there wouldn’t have been the needless deaths!

Fauci pulled the same crap during the AIDS epidemic, again with thousands of needless deaths.

If you have comorbidities, then you need to stay inside, but if you do get sick, you need to stay far away from the doctors who are following what Dr. Fauci is advocating.

There’s ALWAYS going to be a return of infections. It hasn’t left, and it’s not going to either. This is a corona virus, it’s novel, meaning “new”, and it’ll keep mutating. Fauci promised a vaccine for AIDS decades ago too. We’re still waiting. Do you want to wait decades?

Read my No. 4 post above IF you are interested in halting the virus in its tracks, IF you are interested in doing it with cheap, economical off-patent drugs, and IF you are not someone with a vested interest in seeing an “expensive” remedy.

Anti-viral when you first get it, then anti-inflammatory and blood thinners after.

Cheap, cheap, cheap solution. Maybe that’s the problem with Fauci? Is he in bed with big pharma?

Too many strange questions. Why were patients sent to old-age homes where they just infected and KILLED more elderly? Would someone with a medical mind, which Fauci is supposed to have, do that? Hospital staff leaving and then taking taxis and buses/subway home, infecting more people? Hello?

If this is an epidemic, then treat it as such. Quarantine everyone, all workers and patients in one place, away from the hospitals.

WASHINGTON (Reuters) – President Donald Trump is mobilizing the U.S. military to distribute a novel coronavirus vaccine

    https://www.reuters.com/article/us-health-coronavirus-usa-trump-idUSKBN22Q1Q2

    why the military?

Why do men with guns have to be deployed to distribute a vaccine?

Unless there are enough Americans that don’t trust our government to do what’s best for them and their children.

Everyone here knows that our government hates heritage America’s guts, and wants us all suited up to fight Israel’s growing list of enemies, or failing that, replaced by more amenable (dis-armed, ignorant, compliant) consumer units. Big Tech and Bill Gates and Jeff Cuckerburg and Bezos and all the rest of them, want the exact same thing. So too does Wall Street and our cultural elites and so on, so it’s really no wonder that when the federal government comes to your little farm communities in Red State America, that the people there would be (understandably – understatement) suspicious.

And so that’s why they need men with guns, to alleviate any reluctance the people there have, of injecting this stuff into little Timmy and Debbie.

Since, we all know they hate our guts. Duh.

Why would we trust anything they were up to. We’ve just witnessed almost two decades of illegal and immoral and unconstitutional wars for Israel. We run a torture camp now. Americans don’t trust ZOG for very, very good reason, so they need to deploy the military to ‘distribute’ a vaccine. That will keep us “safe”.

That’s all they want, and all they ever wanted, was to keep us all safe. If they have to do so with a gun to our heads, it’s only for our own good!

  33. Beyond these are the meatpacking plants and the prisons where social distancing is almost nonexistent.

But is that everywhere in prisons?

In a prison I am familiar with in Florida, where I know many employees, I am reliably informed that each inmate has a cloth mask that he must wear whenever he is out of a cell, social distancing is practiced and enforced when inmates are out of their cells, any time a prisoner goes outside the facility whether to court or to a medical appointment, he must do 14 days quarantine on return, visitation is cancelled indefinitely, and the facility so far has zero cases of staff or inmate COVID-19 infections.

Staff have their temperatures checked on arrival daily and must be masked from their cars in the parking lot.

Prisons also have the considerable advantage that inmates can be placed in solitary confinement quarantine at any time and have no ability to cheat. So why are prisons supposedly so bad at controlling COVID-19? It can only be incompetence, or they may have grandfathered in COVID-19 cases before there was any widespread awareness of the disease.

Well, you wouldn’t know it from the hysterical comments!

Why is it that so few are interested in what works? When you point it out, it’s as if they don’t want to hear it; they want to shut down the debate. Is it denial? Is it that opening up the economy doesn’t fit their agenda?

The video is not just about anti-virals. It’s about the progression of the disease, that anti-virals don’t work after a certain point, and what to do when you reach that point.

But you don’t want to hear that, do you?

Why would someone not want to save lives? Hmmm.

REAL tiger hunting, when these beasts were feared man-killers,

killing for food or to protect your people or even livestock, is perfectly laudable.

Killing magnificent (and increasingly rare and endangered) animals, (especially beautiful ones like leopards and lions, IMHO), when they’re all but tied down, sickens me to the core. Especially when these cowards pose with them as if they did something of merit. Ugh There are not words.

I’ve killed my share of animals, I lived on a farm, and did some hunting for food, or varmints.

But looking at pasty boy with the unnecessarily slain beautiful leopard, like he’s so tough, is hard to take.

Please cite a reference for COVID-19 being stated by China on any date in January 2020 to have
    sustained
transmissibility between people such as might cause a world-wide epidemic. You can’t because China led the world to believe the opposite: that COVID-19 did spread between people, but only those in very close contact, and as such would be easily contained within China. The entire West trusted China, and that is why the West was caught with its pants down.

It was not only on 27th of January that Fauci began publicly complaining, amid signs of a pandemic-like wildfire global spread of the disease and the egregious evidence provided by the 22nd January shutdown of Wuhan by Xi, that China had been far from completely open and honest with the world about a high degree of sustained transmissibility of COVID-19 between people. Only by watching what China did could Fauci determined that China’s leadership knew more than they were telling the rest of the world and COVID-19 had the makings of a global emergency. China was seriously amiss in its obligation to be honest, and the trust in China was repaid in unnecessary deaths in the West.

    You’ve illustrated Pat’s point precisely.

Your concerns are of an immediate nature, those pertaining to your profession. That’s commendable. But the concerns for the well-being of the nation transcend those that fall under the domain of immunologists. There’s no sense my restating what those concerns are, as they were well lay out by Pat. His is a well reasoned, balanced view.

(Incidentally, Socrates harped on the same point. In talking to diverse experts, he noted that while their competence in their own domain was beyond question, they erred when they gave themselves license to venture into realms about which they knew little. Invariably, he said, their expertise and vanity led them to make the intellectual sin of pretending to know much about that of which they truly knew little. As I say, for the Greeks, this was Original Sin (in contrast the Christian original sin which is focused on morality)).

Now we have the government telling us that we should be so afraid of a virus, no more deadly than the common flu, that we should sweep aside everything our forefathers built and huddle in fear in our homes. Really?

News flash! Freedom is an inherently dangerous condition…Real Americans have always embraced freedom and willingly accepted the risks. Go back and read the founders. They did not establish this government to keep Americans safe. They established it to keep them free!

  57. Covid-19 is an AMAZING virus. Key features:

    – cured influenza, measles, heart disease, cancers and most other diseases and abolished ‘death from natural causes’…

    – it’s a smart virus, highly virulent in parks, gyms, churches and schools, the gym and on beaches…

    – has no effect on the thousands of employees who work at Kmart, BigW, Target, Bunnings…. and especially in liquor stores…

    – the virus seems to target mostly mum and dad businesses and barbershops, who always have much fewer customers walk through their doors…

    – the virus also targets our food chain, since it managed to close meat packing companies, and forced farmers to discard their harvest in record time… (USA)

    – construction and supermarket workers have a natural immunity, but would obviously still need to be vaccinated…

    – also, police uniforms hold the cure for the virus… no social distancing, not even masks are needed, as long as you wear a police uniform…

    – it doesn’t affect children, except for a few who got it… same with animals…

    – also, imposing mandatory cloth masks to prevent too much oxygen to people’s brains, and spraying beaches and streets with bleach, as well as spraying chemical airborne disinfectants from airplanes over densely populated areas have been known to do miracles for people’s lungs affected by this strange virus…

    – we would need millions of ventilators… unless we suddenly won’t need any ventilators…

    – and we need to commandeer all private hospitals to keep them open solely for the avalanche of virus victims, and the avalanche of TikTok videos by overworked hero doctors and nurses…

    – categorized as an ‘invisible enemy’, one that can never be definitively beaten and always lurking in the shadows, much like the war on terror…

    – it loves New York too – a really cosmopolitain virus…

    – there is a Celebrity Strain, and a highly Deadly Strain of the virus…

    – even more amazing, in Sweden you can hug your grandkids, yet the UK strain forbids that…

    – in India alone, the killer virus managed to lock 1.3 billion people in their homes indefinitely, after decimating 1000 of them, within just a few short months…

    – every loss of life from this virus is tragic… however, pushing 150-500 million people into starvation worldwide is a necessary price to pay…

    – experts have pointed out that this seasonal virus could easily be defeated by forever abolishing families, individual privacy, untraceable cash money, and all small independent farms and businesses…

    – we all may have it by now, yet although asymptomatic, we can still infect people and test negative… or test positive… and our antibodies may, or may not give immunity…

    – only a heavily government funded, hastily tested and mandatory vaccine can save us by injecting it in 7 billion people, every year, for a constantly mutating virus, the particular strain of which has long been history…

    – also, be careful not to spread fake news or dangerous misinformation online about this virus… make sure you leave that to the professionals over at NBC, The Washington Post, The New York Times and the rest of the reliable mainstream media journalists around the world.

the white guy I was insulting openly called for David Duke to be murdered, because of Duke’s advocacy for white people.

If there isn’t a more execrable example of a traitorous pasty white male cuck, Jew-tool betrayer, than some pampered rich bitch, who’s never so much as picked up a hammer in his life, and who openly says a former elected representative, ‘deserves a bullet’, because that former elected representative openly advocates for white folks, then I wonder if we’re not being a little too sensitive to criticizing some white cucks.

if it isn’t OK to mock such a POS as Eric Trump, for being a pasty, flabby, pampered silver spoon, private jet-taking coward- to shoot leopards in Africa to prove his tough guy cred, then I just don’t know, Sir.

We whites have to realize, (much as I think is your point) that our biggest enemies on the planet, are the white traitors and cucks to Jewish supremacism who’re so willing to stick a knife in other white men, for standing up for white people’s interest, which is what David Duke has been doing his whole life.

Eric Trump was openly fellating Jewish supremacism, by calling for a good white man to be assassinated, because that man has criticized Jewish supremacism.

And then on top of that, he kills beautiful animals for fun.

Yes, of course the fauna of Africa (and the rest of the world) will all die out due to African and Third World sheer human numbers. Something no Climate Change lying scumfuck will ever even mention.

And that bothers me, to no end. Trust me on that. But at least those African poachers are killing the animals to feed their families, not to puff themselves up, as if they were the ‘great white hunter!’, as they cowardly shoot the corralled leopard from a very safe distance.

I’m not sure which acts are more despicable, calling for Duke’s murder, (I suppose this one) or shooting beautiful animals for the fun of it.

I understand why some people don’t like that but Smoggins was right in saying that those same people say virtually nothing about poaching by black Africans.

If you are talking about Eric Trump then I agree with you and am no fan of his after he said David Duke should take a bullet. Duke didn’t deserve that because he’s never advocated violence against anyone. But because he doesn’t hate his race and acknowledges the perniciousness of Jewish power and influence then that means that it’s ok to advocate violence against him.

  80. Anyone who can’t see that Fauci is not only incompetent, but has a political axe to grind needs to have their heads examined. The flip flops alone “this virus not dangerous don’t worry to omg it’s the second coming of the plague”, “masks useless to masks mandatory”, social distancing not necessary to social distancing saves lives” and on and on and on… If you compare his stance from the beginning to where he’s at now it’s umbundantly clear the 1 percenters and Dem machine “convinced” him to change his stance on everything! His alliances with Bill Gates is the smoking gun!

    @Sean

Having been duped by the Chinese into dispensing ‘ no immediate action needed’ pablum that cost many lives, Fauci and Redfield will overcompensate by giving untimely advice to drag the lockdown on as long as possible.

The job of Fauci and Redfield is to ascertain data independently, and provide advice based on the best understanding of the evidence.

Nobody over the age of three would trust a communist country to provide reliable statistics to a strategic rival. Communist countries even have a hard time not lying to themselves. (Not that self-deception is unknown in the West.)

The United States actually maintains a specialized intelligence service, the National Center for Medical Intelligence (NCMI, part of DIA) dedicated to collecting and evaluating global health information. There is absolutely no excuse for senior “health officials” such as Redfield and Fauci being “duped” by our strategic rivals.

The nation has plenty of talented physicians, researchers, and statisticians. Fauci (79) is the voice of the institutional establishment. It matters not a whit whether Fauci’s bad advice is based on institutional game-playing, corrupt shilling for the GLOB, or simple ineptitude. LET FAUCI GO NOW.

Same applies even more for Redfield. Either Redfield failed to do basic due diligence before advising POTUS, or he is just a globalist shill. In either case, Redfield must be removed to avoid further exacerbating the massive economic injury and damage to the social fabric his agency has caused. Now is not a time for shilly-shallying.
