In his half-century in national politics, Joe Biden has committed more than his fair share of gaffes. Wednesday, he confused Pearl Harbor Day, Dec. 7, 1941, with D-Day, June 6, 1944.

The more serious recent gaffe, a beaut, came at the close of a recent contentious interview with black activist Charlamagne tha God.

A miffed Biden signed off, saying, “If you have a problem figuring out whether you’re for me or Trump, then you ain’t black.”

Biden was saying that no self-respecting black American would vote for Trump over him this November. Indeed, any such individual would have been labeled in the 1960s with the slur Uncle Tom.

As Biden put it, if you’re for Trump, “you ain’t black.”

Recognizing the damage he may have done with his own and his party’s most loyal constituency, which might object to being taken for granted as knee-jerk Democratic voters, Biden’s staff put in a hasty call to a gathering of the U.S. Black Chamber of Commerce.

There, Biden burbled full apologies: “I would never take the African American community for granted. … I shouldn’t have been such a wise guy. … No one should have to vote for any party based on their race or religion or background.” He had just been kidding.

Now, as a gaffe, this was not of the magnitude of James G. Blaine’s failure to object when a friendly Presbyterian pastor, Rev. Sam Burchard, rose to disparage the New York Irish Blaine had been courting as being “the Party of Rum, Romanism, and Rebellion.”

In 1884, that slur soured Catholics on Blaine, helping to cost him New York’s state’s electoral votes and the White House. Thanks to Burchard, Grover Cleveland would become the only Democrat to win the presidency in the half-century between 1860 and 1912.

Biden’s gaffe and Burchard’s slur have this in common: Both manifest a measure of condescension toward a large bloc of voters.

Hillary Clinton did something similar in 2016.

At a closed-door gathering of contributors, she volunteered, to their amusement, that half of all Trump’s voters belong in a “basket of deplorables” for being “racist, sexist, homophobic, xenophobic, Islamophobic.”

Their pathologies are part of their character, Clinton was saying. And while many were “irredeemable,” fortunately, they are “not America.”

During the 2008 Pennsylvania primary, Barack Obama was guilty of the same elitist condescension when he told a San Francisco gathering of gay right advocates why he was not doing well in the Keystone State:

“You go into these small towns in Pennsylvania and, like a lot of small towns in the Midwest, the jobs have been gone now for 25 years and nothing’s replaced them.

“And it’s not surprising then they get bitter, they cling to guns or religion or antipathy toward people who aren’t like them or anti-immigrant sentiment or anti-trade sentiment as a way to explain their frustrations.”

Hard times have curdled the character of these folks, Obama was saying, turning them into bigots and Bible-and-gun nuts.

The people of whom he was speaking would deliver Pennsylvania, Wisconsin, Michigan and the nation to Donald Trump in 2016.

As for Biden’s remark, “No one should have to vote for any party based on their race or religion or background,” it is surely true.

But while not mandatory to support someone of the same race, ethnicity gender or faith, it is naive to deny that identity and tribalism are realities in the politics of this nation.

Was it not the possibility that he could become the first Catholic president why JFK won four of five Catholic votes in 1960?

Was the 95-4 thumping of John McCain by Obama among African Americans not due to the fact that Obama was the first African American nominated by a major party?

Much of Hillary Clinton’s 2016 campaign focused on “shattering the glass ceiling.” Did not Clinton see her gender as a primary political asset in winning “the women’s vote”?

ORDER IT NOW

And, what, other than a naked appeal to gender, was behind Biden’s declaration during the primaries that, in picking a running mate, he would exclude all white men, indeed, all men, and select a woman? And what, other than an appeal to black and female voters was behind Biden’s pledge to name a black woman to the Supreme Court?

Biden is now under pressure to choose not only a woman, but a woman of color, an African American, such as Sen. Kamala Harris of California or Georgia activist Stacey Abrams as his running mate.

It tells us something about where American politics is going that, to win the Democratic nomination and the presidency, Biden, a white male vice president, like all his predecessors, has now ruled out any white man in selecting his own vice president.

Biden’s message to Middle America:

This may have been your country, but no more. Get used to it. Which might explain why Trump did so well with white men in 2016.

Indeed, the country has fallen apart, and it goes back to the nation-wrecking 1965 Immigration Act. You can’t put Humpty Dumpty back together again.

Yet, as Adam Smith said, “there is a lot of ruin in a nation.” So, the corpse of the US will plod along for quite awhile, anyway – but it will be a most unpleasant country to live in.

Nixon, the law and order candidate, won in 1968 due to the race riots which gripped the cities, and the anti-war riots at the democrats disastrous Chicago convention. Minneapolis, with other cities apparently joining the rebellion, could do the same for Trump as the riots did for Nixon.

Just look at the rioters (many of whom seemed to be white Antifa types) burning down police stations and looting Target until there was nothing left inside. Then imagine Stacey Abrams running the country after Biden dies or is forced to step down. Is it any wonder why the democrats are determined to have mail-in voting for the entire country, using covid hysteria as their excuse?

It’s not that Trump is good, it’s that the Democrat party today has become a devil’s brew of unhinged, psychotic hatred unleashed for all unapologetic white American men.

If Joe Biden wants to consolidate the party, and shore up widespread Democrat, progressive liberal, ‘woke’ enthusiasm for 2020, all he has to do is appoint Mona Nelson as the VP on the ticket.

Black, putatively female, LGBT, and most of all, her ‘heart’ is in exactly the right place to be the torch bearer of the Democrat party of the 21st century.

    Joe and Mona in 2020!

Btw, what I find cringing about the coverage of the George Floyd tragedy, is that if George Floyd were a white man who was murdered by cop, (which happens all the time!) there would be nothing but crickets from the media, and not even one! football player would mention his name.

How many Americans have heard of Justine Damond?

A white woman (barefoot and in her pajamas) murdered by a cop, but to the thunderous silence of our (((media))).

Because that murder didn’t suit their – unhinged hatred for white men – agenda.

  21. @Rurik

Rurik, your makin’ me do some research. I had heard of Justine Damond, but not Mona Nelson (blow torch murderer of a 12 year old boy in 2010).

To save some others the work, Damond was killed by a Somali-American cop in Minneapolis after calling 9-1-1 to report a possible assault on a woman in an alley behind her house. I’m surprised you neglected to mention the cop’s Somali ethnicity – affirmative action at its finest, no doubt. At least both Nelson and the trigger happy cop, Mohamed Noor, were found guilty. If they want to avoid more riots, disgraced white cop Derek Chauvin better be too.

The Second Coming! Hardly are those words out
When a vast image out of Spiritus Mundi
Troubles my sight: somewhere in sands of the desert
A shape with lion body and the head of a man,
A gaze blank and pitiless as the sun,
Is moving its slow thighs, while all about it
Reel shadows of the indignant desert birds.
The darkness drops again; but now I know
That twenty centuries of stony sleep

And what rough beast, its hour come round at last,
Slouches towards Bethlehem to be born?

  23. Rurik says:
    @Pigs's Pigs

Right, Rurik, if you’re white and you don’t see cops as the Number threat to your life, you’re dangerously delusional.

    This is your first comment?

In any case, yes, cops in America are too often murderous goons. Unaccountable and drunk on power.

There is the female cop who tazed a man lying in the snow, and then simply murdered him with her gun when she was done torturing him. And she was acquitted.

Then there’s the crazed cop who shot a drunk guy in a hotel hallway, who was obviously no threat at all, but was murdered none the less. And he was acquitted.

Then the power crazed cop who murdered a man who simply wanted to drop off a stray dog at the dog pound, but was murdered instead. And she was acquitted.

An Arizona man walking in a parking lot with some brake pad in his hand, was murdered by cop.

Case after case of these unaccountable goons and uniformed thugs beating people and digitally raping women on the side of the road and shooting innocent people simply for not submitting fast enough, is a terrible trend. But something that’s also going on, is that all the people I listed above, are all crimes that were videotaped, and you can watch on the Internet, but almost no one on the planet knows about those crimes, because the victims were all white. And so those crimes are always hushed up by the Jewish media.

What’s going on now, is the Jewish media is using the most recent case of police murderous thuggery, to turn it into a racial issue, to agitate the orcs into burning their cities and towns. Thereby guaranteeing a necessary crack down, that the civilized members of society will welcome, and this will only bring more militarized police responses to every corner of our nation. Even the places without orcs.

So they use a terrible crime, by an uniformed thug, to stoke racial hatred, and that gives them the excuse to bring in the tanks.

Hands up, don’t shoot’ was a lie. We need to understand that police violence is not a racial issue. It’s a police issue. And white people are getting murdered all the time as well.

It’s up to the more sensible members of society, to attempt to rein in the worst elements of our often out-of-control police. But on the other side of the coin, it doesn’t help matters when Americans see orcs burning down cities and looting and acting like savage animals.

So both sides need to calm down.

  24. @Realist

It is the same…The Deep State controls both parties

There is no deep control by anyone.

There are innate racial differences and no one has a plan for dealing with the facts in a positive manner.

Minnesota is a taste of what is ahead. It’s really not about the police. There is underlying Black resentment of White society and the White liberal plan to lie and blame other Whites has been a total failure.

  25. @Currahee

Biden will capture 90% of the black vote. Trump is toast.

Biden will get 90% of the Black vote as would just about any Democrat. But Trump will win barring any unforeseen scandal.

Independents and moderate White Democrats aren’t going to trust the economy to Biden. The stock market made impressive gains under Trump until the virus. Biden is too much of a wildcard.

Democrats know they have a loser. Biden called Trump’s travel bans “xenophonic” and then hid in his bunker for a few months. No one can honestly argue that Biden would have done a better job with the pandemic.

Now Biden is upset with Trump’s “tough talk” over Minnesota. Biden doesn’t seem to care that the place is on fire.

If they want to avoid more riots, disgraced white cop Derek Chauvin better be too.

of course, but not to avoid riots, but because what he did was unconscionable. A moral society simply does not countenance such vile disregard for human dignity and life.

But it sickens me to see so many people trying to use that terrible tragedy as a racial weapon. Demanding that our society is racist because all blacks don’t have academic and economic parity with all whites. When they try to use this tragedy to their own agenda, it disgusts me.

Black cops murder white people too, but it’s always crickets when it happens.

The real tragedy is that there is never any honestly. It’s ALWAYS about people’s pathetic agendas, every time there a crisis to be milked.

The Rock chimes in on the tragedy to agitate for “EQUALITY”, a buzz word for fucking over whtiey and taking what he earns and giving it all away to others.

But then where’s the greater accountability? The leadership to healing. More importantly, the leadership to EQUALITY. We ultimately win when we can normalize equality. I’m so sorry to the Floyd family. My heart breaks for you. Let the process begin now. #JusticeForGeorgeFloyd #normalizeequality”

You see, these rich scumbags want to blame hard working middle class whites for all the criminality and irresponsibility (and yes, congenital stupidity) of large swaths of our society. Those murderous cops did it because they’re racists, just like all white American society! And whitey needs to pay!!!

Well, fuck you Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson. I didn’t make that black criminal try to hand off counterfeit money, and I didn’t make the uniformed goon kill the poor man, while he was handcuffed and no threat.

All the individuals in this case are responsible for their actions. Just as those callous asshole cops who were standing around and didn’t tell their colleague , ‘hey dude, get off the guy’s neck already, can’t you hear him saying he can’t breath?!

So yea, Derek Chauvin needs to be made an example of. Throw away the key, and send a message.

But they need to stop using his death for their own pathetic, and yes, racist – agendas.

Found guilty of Second Degree Murder, not Minnesota’s version of manslaughter. Anything less, and it’s going to get worse. OR, the could ‘suicide’ him in jail like Epstein.

if Trump is going to get re-elected on the economy then he’s doomed as the economy heads south

The dow isn’t far from where it was in Jan. The riots didn’t make it budge.

He just needs to get the unemployment rate down.

Hopefully we can get all the restaurants and airlines to full capacity by September.

If that happens the market will jump and he will be fine.

My only worry is that we have a second wave in the fall and the Democrat governors institute another lockdown knowing full well it is their only hope. Biden is a loser and they know it.

but the employment level has never got back up to the point it was before the melt down

The unemployment rate has long been half propaganda. A big problem is that it doesn’t measure part time workers looking for full time work.

And so those crimes are always hushed up by the Jewish media.

The same people who tried so hard to keep criminal schoolteacher John T Scopes out of prison. And succeeded. Over William Jennings Bryan. That’s power!

Strange I thought(they do) the BLS counted part time workers as employed on their report or even if you work only five hours……of course the market never moved down when trillions are being dumped into it and probably the Fed buying as well ….,as the GOA stated this morning it will be at least 10 years before this effect wears off and some economist state that it will be longer, some say it will be 29 all over again…….the unemployment rate will continue to go up as more and more become unemployed …….and I’m sure you know as well as I that a corrupt market funded by the Fed.’s cheap money in stock buybacks.as they run to the free market window for another bail out. is a poor indicator of the health of the country, or for that matter the structure of society,if you doubt it turn on your t.v and see whats going on in the cities while Nero is out for a photo op,,,,,,,,,
