“There arrives a moment of truth when the West either accepts our proposals or other ways will be found to safeguard Russia’s security.” Konstantin Gavrilov, head of the Russian delegation at the Vienna negotiations

Here’s a simple way to test your understanding of the current US-Russia standoff. All you need to do is answer one very-basic question about the nature of the conflict, and that answer will determine whether you understand what is actually going on or not. Here’s the question:

What is the source of the confrontation between the US and Russia in the Ukraine:

  1. Russia has amassed over 100,000 combat troops near Ukraine’s eastern border and is threatening to invade.
  2. Russian President Vladimir Putin wants to rebuild the Soviet Empire by expanding Russia’s territory beyond its borders.
  3. The western media has concocted a fake storyline about a “Russian invasion” to divert attention from Moscow’s reasonable demands for legally-binding security guarantees that address the pressing issue of hostile foreign armies (NATO) and nuclear missiles on Russia’s doorstep.
  4. None of the above.

If you picked Number 3, then pat yourself on the back, that is the right answer. (Please, see: “There Is No Russian Invasion Threat To Ukraine”, Moon of Alabama; Quote: “The story of Russian preparations for an invasion of the Ukraine is made up from whole cloth.”) The current crisis has nothing to do with the fictitious “Russian invasion” that was invented to conceal the real issue. The real issue is Russian security and the demands that Russia has made in the form of two draft treaty agreements. The western media– in concert with the Intelligence agencies, the Pentagon, the Biden administration, and the US foreign policy establishment– have done everything in their power to prevent the American people from reading the contents of these draft treaties for fear that they will see that Russia’s demands are both reasonable and appropriate. Russia isn’t asking for anything more than any sovereign country should expect. As FDR famously said, “Security for one, is security for all.” We support that sentiment and we think the American people do too.

Russians do not want to live with nuclear missiles aimed at their Capital and located just a few hundred miles from their targets. That is a nonstarter. Nor do Russians want hostile armies and military bases looming on their western flank in Ukraine. Again, that is a nonstarter. What Russia wants, is a written agreement that prevents Washington from using NATO to pursue its long-term geopolitical strategy of encircling, weakening and ultimately, splintering the Russian Federation into smaller pieces in order to become a bigger player in the development of Central Asia and in order to exert greater control over China’s explosive growth. That is the basic Gameplan, and the US foreign policy establishment has not abandoned that plan despite 30-years of catastrophic military failures stretching from North Africa across the Middle East and into Central Asia. Here’s how author Stephen Kinzer summed it up in an article that appeared in the Boston Globe more than a decade ago:

“From the moment the Soviet Union collapsed in 1991, the United States has relentlessly pursued a strategy of encircling Russia, just as it has with other perceived enemies like China and Iran. It has brought 12 countries in central Europe, all of them formerly allied with Moscow, into the NATO alliance. US military power is now directly on Russia’s borders…This crisis is in part the result of a zero-sum calculation that has shaped US policy toward Moscow since the Cold War: Any loss for Russia is an American victory, and anything positive that happens to, for, or in Russia is bad for the United States. This is an approach that intensifies confrontation, rather than soothing it.” (“US a full partner in Ukraine debacle”, Boston Globe)

What can we glean from this paragraph?

We can appreciate the historical context of the current crisis which dates back to the dissolution of the Soviet Union. Following the collapse of the USSR, leaders in the West felt that “History had ended” and that the western system had triumphed over communism. This triumphalism, in turn, was accompanied by wave after wave of eastward expansion, where NATO– the Cold War relic– doubled in size and pushed closer and closer to Russia’s borders. Now– 30-years on– Washington wants Ukraine to become a member of the Alliance which will put hostile armies, military bases and missile sites just a few hundred miles from Moscow. Naturally, Putin cannot allow this development to take place. Naturally, he must do everything in his power to prevent the supporters of this strategy from implementing their plan.

And that’s what the current confrontation is all about, Russia’s security. It has nothing to do with the threat of a Russian invasion. The “Russian invasion” meme was invented to garner public support for a confrontation with Russia and to conceal details about Russia’s security demands. It is basically fake news created with the clear intention of misleading the American people about an issue that should be a grave concern to them and to people around the world.

So, what is it that Putin wants, after all, we cannot determine whether the Russian leader is being reasonable or not unless we know what he is demanding. A short excerpt from the draft treaty should tell us everything we need to know. Here’s an excerpt:

The United States of America shall undertake to prevent further eastward expansion of the North Atlantic Treaty Organization and deny accession to the Alliance to the States of the former Union of Soviet Socialist Republics.

The United States of America shall not establish military bases in the territory of the States of the former Union of Soviet Socialist Republics that are not members of the North Atlantic Treaty Organization, use their infrastructure for any military activities or develop bilateral military cooperation with them……

The Parties shall undertake not to deploy ground-launched intermediate-range and shorter-range missiles outside their national territories, as well as in the areas of their national territories, from which such weapons can attack targets in the national territory of the other Party.

Article 7

The Parties shall refrain from deploying nuclear weapons outside their national territories and return such weapons already deployed outside their national territories at the time of the entry into force of the Treaty to their national territories. The Parties shall eliminate all existing infrastructure for deployment of nuclear weapons outside their national territories.

The Parties shall not train military and civilian personnel from non-nuclear countries to use nuclear weapons. The Parties shall not conduct exercises or training for general-purpose forces, that include scenarios involving the use of nuclear weapons.” (“Treaty between the United States and the Russian Federation on Security Guarantees,” Official Russian State Document, December 17, 2021)

Is it reasonable for Putin to demand that the US and its NATO allies not install military bases and nuclear missile sites on its border? Is it appropriate for the Russian president to insist that NATO abstain from placing hostile armies on Russia’s doorstep? Here’s what Putin said in reference to these developments just two weeks ago:

“Our actions will depend not on the negotiations but on the unconditional security of Russia Putin …we have made it absolutely clear that NATOs expansion to the East is absolutely unacceptable. What is unclear about this? It is not Russia that deploys missile systems to US borders. It is the other way around. The United States has brought its missiles to our borders. They are on our threshhold …. What would the US do if we deployed our missiles to the Mexican or Canadian borders? …We are not the one’s that are threatening anyone. They came to our borders.” (“Putin: “What Would Americans Do If We Went To Canada And Mexico And Deployed Missiles There?”, Rumble)

He has a point, doesn’t he? The US would never allow China or Russia to build bases or missile sites on its borders. Shouldn’t Russia expect the same treatment?

Yes, they should, and it is certainly a principal worth fighting for. Keep in mind, Russia lost 27 million people in World War 2. That is no trifling sum. Russians have a clear understanding of the cost of war and they will do whatever it takes to prevent another one from breaking out on their soil. In the present case, that means insisting that encroaching adversaries sign legally-binding documents that block them from deploying lethal military hardware or nuclear weapons to Russia’s perimeter. That is the crux of the matter; Sign the treaty or Moscow will be forced to find other ways to establish its security.

The head of the Russian delegation at the Vienna negotiations, Konstantin Gavrilov, summed it up like this:

“There arrives a moment of truth when the West either accepts our proposals or other ways will be found to safeguard Russia’s security.”

Does that mean war?

Not necessarily, but the options are certainly narrowing. If the Biden administration ignores these red lines and continues to blunder ahead with its current policy, there will be a war because this latest NATO expansion leaves Russia at a critical disadvantage. The location of troops and nuclear weapons upsets the fundamental balance of power which Russia will be forced to restore by whatever means necessary. Is that what Biden’s foreign policy team wants?

The wiser members of the US foreign establishment have always cautioned against NATO’s reckless expansion. Check out this quote from former US diplomat and author of the Soviet “containment” policy, George Kennan, who warned that NATO expansion would have dire consequences for both Russia and the United States. He said:

“The view, bluntly stated, is that expanding NATO would be the most fateful error of American policy in the entire post-Cold War era. Such a decision may be expected to inflame the nationalistic, anti-Western and militaristic tendencies in Russian opinion; to have an adverse effect on the development of Russian democracy; to restore the atmosphere of the cold war to East-West relations, and to impel Russian foreign policy in directions decidedly not to our liking … Such a decision may be expected to inflame the nationalistic, anti-Western and militaristic tendencies in Russian opinion; to have an adverse effect on the development of Russian democracy; to restore the atmosphere of the Cold War to East-West relations, and to impel Russian foreign policy in directions decidedly not to our liking.….I think the Russians will gradually react quite adversely and it will affect their policies. I think it is a tragic mistake. There was no reason for this whatsoever. No one was threatening anybody else. This expansion would make the founding fathers of this country turn over in their graves.” (“George Kennan on Russia: Insights and Recommendations”, Russia Matters)

So, if NATO expansion is at the heart of the present confrontation, (and not the invented threat of Putin invading.), then what are the strategic objectives?

Perhaps, the best and simplest explanation of what is going on is provided by foreign policy expert John Mearsheimer in a presentation he gave at The University of Chicago in 2015 titled Why is Ukraine the West’s Fault? The whole video is worth watching but for our purposes, we’ll highlight a few of the more crucial points.

First of all, US ambitions in Ukraine have nothing to do with “democracy promotion”. The real driving force is geopolitics, just as it was a century earlier when Great Britain was engaged in the Great Game. The same rule applies today, although the motives are more effectively concealed behind a wall of propaganda. As Mearsheimer says,

“The US and its EU allies want to peel Ukraine away from its Russian orbit and incorporate it into the west. The goal is to make Ukraine a western bulwark on Russia’s border.”

Bingo. That’s it in a nutshell. The US wants to continue its encirclement and weakening of Russia, and Russia will have none of it. As Mearsheimer says, “Russia is a great power and is has no interest in allowing the US to take a big piece of real estate of great strategic importance on its western border and incorporate it into the West.”

Right again. But while Mearsheimer provides a convincing explanation for recent developments, his analysis is in no way comprehensive. There are, of course, other prominent foreign policy experts who described in much greater detail, the role that was planned for Russia as a future colony in the New World Order. In 1997, Zbigniew Brzezinski posted an article in Foreign Policy Magazine titled “A Geostrategy for Eurasia,” that makes the case that the US needs to forcefully establish itself in Central Asia in order to maintain its position as the world’s only superpower. Here’s an excerpt that explains how Brzezinski saw Russia factoring in to this new paradigm:

“Russia’s longer-term role in Eurasia will depend largely on its self-definition…Russia’s first priority should be to modernize itself rather than to engage in a futile effort to regain its status as a global power. Given the country’s size and diversity, a decentralized political system and free-market economics would be most likely to unleash the creative potential of the Russian people and Russia’s vast natural resources. A loosely confederated Russia — composed of a European Russia, a Siberian Republic, and a Far Eastern Republic — would also find it easier to cultivate closer economic relations with its neighbors. Each of the confederated entitles would be able to tap its local creative potential, stifled for centuries by Moscow’s heavy bureaucratic hand. In turn, a decentralized Russia would be less susceptible to imperial mobilization.” (“A Geostrategy for Eurasia”, Foreign Affairs, 76:5, September/October 1997)

“A loosely confederated Russia”? In other words, a splintered, Balkanized, bankrupt colony open to foreign exploitation and control. Is this Washington’s plan for Russia?

It is. A strong, vital and independent Russia is not in Washington’s interests at all, in fact, it is a clear threat to America’s global ambitions. The US still harbors lofty aspirations that have not been dampened by 30 years of foreign policy disasters. Washington still thinks it can prevail in its conflict with Moscow, establish outposts across Central Asia, further encircle China, and oversee the explosive development of the world’s most prosperous region, Asia. These are, perhaps, unrealistic objectives for a country that found it impossible to beat a makeshift militia with no formal military training (The Taliban) over a 20-year period. Nevertheless, this is the essential geopolitical roadmap the foreign policy establishment continues to pursue despite the fact that implementing the policy may trigger an unexpected conflagration with a nuclear-armed Russia that could have dire consequences for us all.

So many words, but not one that would answer this simple question: what nukes are you referring to? Other than in your paranoid delusions, where exactly are they? The nearest ones I can think of are in Germany, and if Russia thinks that is on their border they really need to rethink the concept of where their borders actually are because they sure as fuck are not in Germany.

(actually there are also some nuclear bombs stored in Turkey – they’ve been there for decades)

    Why? Thanks for asking.

WHAT we have here is a millennia old conflict. Beginning in the 10th century when the descendants of Ashkenaz adopted talmudism. Continuing their parasitical existence at the expense of too tolerant neighboring tribes in Khazaria the ashkenazim were eventually booted out, seeking new frontiers to infest.

Eventually booted out of Russia, after several hundred years they tried for re-entry, known as the Bolshevik “revolution”. Their triumph & reign however was short lived, ending in the late 80’s with the collapse of the soviet union, and the talmudist derived communist regime.

They believe they are the rightful owners of Russia, and will do everything possible to (1)re-assert their parasitism & (2) kill off Russian & American Whites & (3) destroy Christianity in Russia.

Who are the neocons behind this? The usual (((suspects))). For backgrounders start with:

clear threat to America’s global ambitions

Russia has emerged as a barrier to US expansion, having thwarted the US project of overturning Syria and now blocking the eastward move of US-NATO. The irresistible force may meet the immovable object. The blather about concern for borders is undercut by US-NATO bombing in the Balkans back in the 90’s, carving out Kosovo. As owner of the planet the US felt it had the right to determine what the borders in the Balkans should be. NATO could be fragmented by this US led drive to the east as some of the European members become balky as they’re dragooned into an unwanted situation. This may be the beginning of the end of US expansionism, Russia having recovered from its collapse thirty years ago and China developing to the point of being able to defend itself. Retaliation through sanctions and other means are threatened but specifics are vague. Haven’t the Russians been sanctioned already? Perhaps this is why they evacuated Afghanistan, to avoid being too scattered and transferring resources. How long has this been on the drawing board?

    – The US has “armies” in Ukraine. Lol. Lie.

    – The US is both super duper weakened but somehow also in control what Ukraine and its NATO-ally neighbors want and do. Desperate, contradictory lie.

    – There’s US nukes near the Russian border. Bold faced lie.

    – The 100,000 troops Putin has massed at the Ukraine-Russia border are fake. Lie.

    – Ukraine hates Russia and is drifting West because Americans have Ukrainians under mind control or something, not because of Russian aggression and Putin’s failed leadership that turned Russia into a sh**hole country. Lie.

    – The same US that managed not to go war with Russia when Putin invaded Crimea and installed puppet in the White House is now itching to go to war with Russia just after abandoning war in Afghanistan. Because that makes total sense. If it wasn’t a big, fat, nonsensical-on-its-face lie.

What’s really happening: Russia’s aging, washed-up, racist, whiny, homophobic Boomer dictator who loves to play victim is mad his Cold War Soviet dreams will never come to fruition. Because the youth of Russia and its satellites despise Putin and like Westerners and Western culture, thanks to his own sh***y decisions which have done the impossible and made Russia’s oligarchy even more unattractive than America’s.

It’s just that the proselytizing rabbis across Europe gave their proselytes the Bible, pointed at Gen. 10:3, said that after the Flood it was Ashkenaz who repopulated Europe, and insisted that all their converts, all Europeans, were descendants of Ashkenaz.

The whole point of the US trying to push Russia to invade Ukraine is so that they can force the EU to sanction the Russians, especially Russian natural gas, forcing the EU to buy LNG from the US and then gas from the Leviathon and Tamar Israeli gas fields as well as the hoped-for Saudi gas that is supposed to come through Syria. The Russians do have legitimate security concerns with Ukraine, and it doesn’t seem unreasonable for them to want Ukraine to be at least neutral and it could even benefit the Ukrainians who could become a bridge for trade between the Russians and the rest of Europe.

However, they are crowing about their irresistible force taking on the immovable object. Beginning with the Teutonic Knights at Tannenberg about 800 years ago, then fast-forwarding to Karl den Tolvte of Sweden, next was Napoleon and ultimately the guy with the funny-looking toothbrush mustache. They all tried, really, really hard, with infantry, cavalry, artillery, armor and aircraft. But all of them failed.

The objective, Mama Bear, proved to indeed be an immovable object. So why the hysteria? Are they suicidal or do they favor Megadeath for the entire human race?

But when Russia and China have not ventured far afield with imperial ambitions and seek to advance their own genuine national security interests, the usual noises are spewed about national interest bullshit. This is what happens when a country loses its sovereignty to its greatest welfare recipient and is really left with no meaningful national security interests other than those of its owners.

    1. The Kagans, Nulands, Blinkens, Vindmans, ad infinitum, who were raised with stories of how their great-grandmother was raped by Cossacks and great-grandfather had his usury business shut down by the Czar.
    2. The fact that the Russians don’t allow gay pride parades, and drag Queen story hours in children’s libraries.

Crimea has been Russian since 1783 – you know the same year as Treaty of Paris recognised USA

Russian Federation is de jure Successor State of USSR in terms of Treaties. Crimea always was Russian and Khrushchev’s “transfer” to Ukrainian SSR was never ratified.

Ukraine exists only because Vladimir Lenin created it – it is configured with Catholic Galicia because Stalin decreed it. Poland wants Lwow back and wants Ukraine dismembered.

  45. Russia must liberate Russokraine. Half of Ukraine is Russian, demographically and ethnically.

We have brought discord and confusion and frustration into your personal and public life. We are still doing it.“

  48. @raga10

Then maybe the Government of the United States should open the facilities to Inspection and guarantee NEVER to deploy offensive weapons in these Mk41 VLRS facilities ?

Is that not what the draft treaties presented by Russia propose ?

Further, even Aegis Mk41 VLRS if “defensive” would devalue MAD as a security doctrine permitting the US to dare a First Strike on Russia – as was proposed from 1946 onwards in the belief Aegis would prevent a Russian counterstrike from its land-based silos.

Russia has the home field advantage and can hang loose for awhile, but needs to take America’s – You can’t touch me attitude – and shake it up. This might be available when those { we have no other choice} targets in Ukraine have US/Nato military involvement. The Russians have not denied they have massed troops and gear near Ukraine eastern border (which is actually undeniable since it can be seen from the sky) though they have denied they want to invade. So part of 1) is true.

Western Ministry of Truth has been tearing garments about an inminent and very likely non-fake Russian invasion and it has indeed tried to hide Russian security demands, so part of 3) is true as well.

Mike is trying to present Russia as the agrieved part that just wants security assurances. While the intention is good, it is actually not a good idea. Russia is not only mostly in the right. Russia is also ready to be a bully herself and ready to cause great damage, ready to kill and take by force, there is nothing fictitious about invading the Ukraine. Cretins running the show in the USA and weaklings running the show in the EU need to undertand that Russia is not just reasonable in her demands for security, Russia can also be very violent and destructive and is able to prevail by force in several arenas.

Claiming the high moral ground is not sufficient to prevent large scale war. The Western side needs to feel fear too, a well-grounded fear that will clear the head and lead to prudent decision-making. Paul Craig Roberts is right on this one.

DUDE! I take issue with the entire pack of lies which comprise your neocon drivel. But one bit of idiocy really stood out. This gem:

“Putin’s failed leadership that turned Russia into a sh**hole country.”

I have been studying all things Russian for 37 years. Including the language. As a young undergrad, I spent the summer of 1990 in Moscow. I have been back five more times, most recently in May, 2019. Besides the capital, I have visited many other cities in European Russia, to include Petersburg, Pskov, Nizhni Novgorod, Vladimir, Great Rostov, Kaluga and Voronezh. I have spent time in country “backwaters” as well.

You’re a fool to call Russia a “sh**hole country. The transformation of Russia from the shabbiest place I had ever seen (that includes Peru and Bolivia in the mid-80’s) to what it is today is utterly astounding. Every city I have seen (with the exception of Great Rostov, which surprisingly, was still looking mighty Soviet) is full of new construction. Public parks are beautiful, restaurants (including fast food joints) are clean and busy. Streets are safe after dark, women are well dressed and men hold doors.

I spoke recently to a friend, who after 3 years in the States returned for a month to her hometown of Penza, a provincial city. I asked about her impressions. She told me that she could hardly recognize the place. “That bad, huh?” was my reply as I cannot name a single city which has not become a sh**hole in my OWN country during my lifetime. (I’ve lived in Washington, DC, NYC, Chicago and San Francisco).
“Are you kidding? It’s wonderful!” was her answer. New apartments, restaurants, businesses, better streets, more for kids to do…
Yep, Dude…before you start calling Putin’s Russia a sh**hole, you’d do well to compare the cities there with our own crime-ridden, filthy powder kegs.
By the way…you’re not related to the Kagan family, are you?

  61. Sepp says:

You could take every occurrence of the word “Russia” and replace it with “Germany” and 50% of this article would apply to Central Europe in 1939.

    A few salient examples:

There arrives a moment of truth when the West either accepts our proposals or other ways will be found to safeguard Russia’s security.

This sounds just like Hitler pleading with the west and Poland for a solution to the Danzig problem

Russian President Vladimir Putin wants to rebuild the Soviet Empire by expanding Russia’s territory beyond its borders.

Hitler supposedly wanted to rebuild the German empire even though he had sworn away Alsace Lorraine, Schleswig and all the German colonies. During the entire 12 years of Hitlers reign of power this mantra conquering the world was repeated over and over.

The current crisis has nothing to do with the fictitious “Russian invasion” that was invented to conceal the real issue.

    Sudetenland anyone?

Nor do Russians want hostile armies and military bases looming on their western flank in Ukraine.

Poland, Russia and France all had “hostile armies and militaries looming on the German border. France and Belgium had even occupied the Rhineland until 1930, and Germany didn’t reoccupy it until 1936. Of course many also forget that France invaded Germany (Saar offensive) in September 1939 as she had done to Alsace in August 1914.

This crisis is in part the result of a zero-sum calculation that has shaped US policy toward Moscow since the Cold War: Any loss for Russia is an American victory, and anything positive that happens to, for, or in Russia is bad for the United States. This is an approach that intensifies confrontation, rather than soothing it.

Germany was still paying reparations and could not even produce airplanes until Hitler came to power in 1933. Talk about “Zero Sum”, this was boot on the neck.

Kaiser Wilhem abdicated based on assurances by the US that they would follow Wilsons 14 points after the armistice. Then Wilson demanded that the Kaiser would abdicate, and he did. What happened to Germany? Blockade, starvation, loss of agricultural lands required to feed the populace, continued embargoes, theft of all gold, and massive reparations that lead to hyperinflaton, destruction of the middle class, a complete Judaic take over, and even more starvation. Russia has suffered nothing compared to what the Judaic-Entente did to Germany. Yet to this day Russia will not recognize what was done to Germany in the first half of the 20th century and their role in it.

Keep in mind, Russia lost 27 million people in World War 2. That is no trifling sum. Russians have a clear understanding of the cost of war and they will do whatever it takes to prevent another one from breaking out on their soil.

How many Germans were starved after WWI? How many murdered across Eastern Europe, along the Danube, Dneiper and Volga rivers. Besides, the vast majority of that “27 million” were self inflicted by the Kazarian Mafia government that many Russians had helped to put in power, and gleefully served under. At least 20 million of those casualties were self inflicted and Russians should not blame anyone else for it now. In fact, many of those “27 million” were not Russians and they were victims of Russians and their Karazian overlords.

Russians do not want to live with nuclear missiles aimed at their Capital and located just a few hundred miles from their targets.

Kaliningrad and Iskander missiles anyone? Russia is still sitting on what cannot be considered anything else but German territory that they ethnically cleansed of its inhabitants, or better said they commited genocide against. They have massive military installations there including submarine bases, airforce bases and even missile installations. Russians have never had to pay reparations to Germany, let alone Israel for all the Jews in Eastern Europe that they murdered. Yes, the Russians taking orders from their beloved Kazarian Mafia leaders did kill many Jews, likely even more than Germany.

So cry me a river about Russia being treated unfairly. This is just a small taste of the karmic justice that have earned. I despise Zato even more than “Russia”, but a pox on both of their houses. I could feel much sympathy for the Russian sheople, and the US and EU sheople too, but they are all too ignorant to even recognize who ignorant that they are.

Then Britain could have an excuse, when Germany reacted, for a war of annihilation against her most feared European economic rival. The control surfaces of any aircraft are relatively primitive assemblies little changed since the early days of aviation. Flaps, elevators, ailerons, rudder, etc are conceptually the same for decades. They are now fly by wire and run by hydraulics in most cases, but I see no way for electronic jamming to alter or curtail their function. To scramble navigation facilities, knock out GPS, kill targeting, etc can be accomplished via RF but to attack the low level flight controls is a bit much.

Every pilot is inculcated with the admonition to ‘fly the airplane’ under all circumstances. A crash means the pilot was unable to fly the craft.

I could see foreign mining and timber etc. interests making a whole lot of money buying resources for five cents on the dollar, paying the local workforce next to nothing, and then exporting both the products and the profits. Perhaps we need to look beyond nominal GDP, perhaps Ukraine is more of an economic prize than most people realize?

If you are into resource extraction, a bad local economy is a GOOD thing, yes?

I mean, when the Western interests under Yeltsin nearly drove Russia back to the 12th century, the Russian economy was in tatters but the oligarchs stood to make fortunes, right?

Of course, we will need CRT experts Smiley and Dustbin to lead the parade on white horses adorned with trimmings in the fag colours.

If you are into resource extraction, a bad local economy is a GOOD thing, yes?

You make some good points. Ukraine has a lot of fertile land, resources that could be exploited. Ukrainians are gainfully employed elsewhere when they emigrate. They could easily be put to work at low wages and have value squeezed out of them. Tens of millions whose output could be siphoned off. All thats needed is some organization imposed on them. Poor resource exporting countries can have a billionaire class sitting on top of the pyramid, domestic and foreign.

  94. Mevashir says:

I nominate the bolded section for the greatest understatement in Unz history!

I have read that the US wants to loot Ukraine of its resources. It also pushed under Obama/Clinton to sell Ukraine fracking technology and GMO seeds. Russia at the time claimed it opposes both technologies and prides itself on producing healthy organic foods.

There also is a claim that Israel wants to block Russian natural gas from being exported to Europe, most conveniently via Ukraine, so it can replace that product with its recently discovered offshore fossil fuel resources. Perhaps the Persian Gulf countries (in the Abraham Accords) also are onboard with this plot.

It’s also possible that Israel is fomenting this conflict as a way to punish Russia for its presence in Syria and its warming relations with Iran.

The best thing for the USA is to sever diplomatic relations with Israel, wash out hands of the entire problem, and let Putin deal with it. He is the only leader respected by both Israel and its major adversaries. Let him play peacemaker while we return to our borders and our senses.

According to the film, “Warmongers almost killed millions in 1962.” Unfortunately, this is not true, for the simple reason that there were no Soviet nuclear warheads in Cuba in 1962 and the missiles, if they were there, because nobody saw them, most likely were dummies.

Just take a careful look at the U2 photos, now available in high definition on the Web. What the photos show is some big wooden boxes, which the CIA said contained the missiles. The photos also show some concrete structures, which the CIA said contained the nuclear warheads. But the CIA has always been an organization of liars.

Now, why did the U.S. did not inspect in situ the boxes on the decks of Soviet ships allegedly bringing the missiles back to the Soviet Union? Moreover, nuclear warheads emit gamma radiation. At the time the U.S. had sophisticated equipment at the Dardanelles strait to detect gamma radiation from nuclear warheads from Soviet submarines. Why this equipment never detected the alleged nuclear missiles on Soviet ships bound to Cuba?

The whole Cuban Missile Crisis was a lie, as 9/11 was a lie, the Gulf of Tonkin attack was a lie, and the Covid PsyOp is a huge lie. The true purpose of these lies has been top keep Americans terrorized. Unfortunately, it has worked at perfection.

Interesting how the Pilgrims, CFR, Chatham House, ad nauseam work in concert. Just this morning I was reading in a 1946 ‘Life’ magazine, a featured article in early June, by none other than one of the notorious Dulles brothers, John Foster, who seven years later was to be named D.D. Eisenhower’s Secretary of State.

Dulles received a lot of space via the mag’s owner, Henry Luce, who got much of his initial funding for the Time, Life and Fortune of his existence by the premiere robber-baron, John Davison Rottenfeller. The theme Dulles explicated almost exponentially was the “clear and present” danger posed by our very recent ally, “Uncle Joe” Stalin, directing the worldwide Communist agenda. Yada, yada.

What really caught my interest in this June 7 mouthpiece for the Atlanticist establishment was his echo-chamber use of Churchill’s Fulton,Missouria speech not even a full three months earlier, which essentially ignited the “Cold-War”. Dulles used exactly that same term, signaling to the network of minions, Masons and other well-connected East-Coasters, plus of course, the other quadrupod making up the Five Eyes, that the “Cold War” narrative is the new party-line as imposed by the ruling Rottenchild and Rottenfeller crime clan Bank\$ter houses.

From most recent info sources, it would appear that the rhetoric by the two Atlanticist heavyweights v. Russia/Ukraine, continues and will for some while. However, Continental states, including the big three of Germany, France and Italy appear to be having second thoughts, perhaps slightly chilled toes about this whole developing misadventure, as those nations happen to be sufficiently politically matured when it comes to wars of aggression.

My current take is that the brouhaha in Eastern Europe is likely to resolve in a lot of smoke and mirrors, signifying that the Atlanticist push will lack sufficient backing to necessitate a Russian shove. Just this morning, I viewed a video on Rense taken of a Russian submarine surfacing close to American shores. That particular craft sports some 150 nukes on board, with sufficient missilry to erase every major target across the fruited plain.

    Message taken.

However, POS or not, what I stated is true of most modern aircraft. The control surfaces would be familiar to Orville and Wilbur. That they are now so large and requires so much force to move means that motors and hydraulics are the actual mechanisms employed. The pilot’s input is transmitted by servos and such to the actual mechanical elements. Those things have no need of RF capability as the pilot is right there along with the rest of the gear. Wires and hydraulic lines suffice. That some genius did make it vulnerable to electronic interference would be par for the course precisely because it is a piece of shit.

I don’t think NATO has nukes under their direct control. Even if they did, NATO is completely subservient to the US’s demands. The figureheads in Brussels wouldn’t know how to wipe their butts without US instructions.

I think the calculus is that Ukraine isn’t worth testing Russia past some point. Russia’s loaded with nukes and some hyper delivery systems that the US can’t touch. If push comes to shove, NATO and the US will cave in because the Europeans are going to stop pretending they give a shit about Ukraine real soon. 134. Richard B says:

What can we glean from this paragraph?

A lot. For example, take the first line.

“From the moment the Soviet Union collapsed in 1991, the United States has relentlessly pursued a strategy of encircling Russia….”

Why has the United States been doing this? First, the United States is a country Jewish-owned and run. So, the United States has been doing this to replace Russian-led communism with Jewish-led communism. You know, like what they started with. Oh, and also to teach them a lesson for kicking out their billionaire gangster friends.

In other words, to impose on Russia what they’re imposing on the USA now and have been for nearly a century, as any good TUR reader knows (whether or not they got their information from TUR or came here with it).

An excellent illustration of this can be gleaned by rewriting the following:

    From Mike’s Article

    Rewriting

We can appreciate the historical context of the current crisis which dates back to the dissolution of the Host Population of the United States. Following the collapse of the Historic American Nation, leaders of The Hostile Elite felt that “History had ended” and that Jewish Supremacy Inc. had triumphed over the Historic American Nation. This triumphalism, in turn, was accompanied by wave after wave of mass immigration, where the nonwhite and antiwhite population way more than doubled in size as the direct result of eliminating our borders. Now Washington, completely in the hands of JSI, wants nonwhite illegal immigrants to become a collective member of the Alliance against white America (even their useful idiots). Naturally, whites cannot allow this development to take place. Naturally, they must do everything in their power to prevent the supporters of this strategy from implementing their plan (or so one would think).

And that’s what the current confrontation is all about, our security. It has nothing to do with the threat of White Supremacy.

Of course, JSI is acting as if this would happen exactly because it’s reasonable to expect pushback, even if they don’t get any. And, as we all know, they aren’t really getting any. This only shows just how determined JSI is to crush whites and place those they allow to live under the iron paw of JSI where, presumably, they’ll get to live out their lives as tax slaves and/or sex workers.

The point here is that The JSI Waltz of Invite the World – Invade The World and In Debt to the World is imploding. And for a reason. They really are insane.

According to Vidal, Kennedy’s response was that it was nonsense and that if there was anywhere the USA had played things straight, it was Brazil. The tacit admission that there were certainly places the USA had not played it straight was what interested Vidal. In any case, after Kennedy’s death Brazil had a military coup and the USA certainly backed it and may have demanded it.

The target, of course is Russia who thwarted US/Israel’s agenda in Syria. You’re re writing history when you say that no one wanted a war with Afghanistan or Iraq! The American people signed up in droves to go kill as many Muslims as they could after9-11. They had visions of genocide dancing in their heads, implied though not stated by the media. That it was all basically worthless, those Muslims are still there, and Americans died or were wounded for nothing but genocidal vengeance , does not alter the fact that the people wanted these wars. No American ever said they signed up after 9-11 because they wanted to bring democracy; they went there with bombs saying this is for 9-11, FU, etc.
The American people have always loved going off to other countries to bomb and kill people over there! All you revisionists were gung ho pro Iraq /Afghan war mongers. Tucker, Laura Ingram etc, you all now say you “made a mistake”, when it was no mistake at all. Just your genocidal fantasies did not come true and you realize you were duped to think that’s what you would be doing in Iraq, Afghanistan fighting some star war good vs evil totalizing war. It looks like practically everything in the F35 is controlled by “electronic control units” (i.e. computers). BTW there are several unofficial reports of Russian EW systems bringing down U.S. aircraft including F35s.

    ELECTROHYDROSTATIC ACTUATION SYSTEM (EHAS)
    OVERVIEW
Eliminating the traditional tie to aircraft generated hydraulic power, the
electronically controlled and driven Electrohydrostatic Actuators (EHA)
provide fully integrated precision motion control of the primary flight control
surfaces (flaperon, horizontal tail & rudder). Actuation system software and
Electronic Control Units (EU’s) provide the system interface to the aircraft
electrical drive power and command/control functions of the aircraft Vehicle
Management Computer (VMC). Integration of these components provides
    complete system control.

LEADING EDGE FLAP ACTUATION SYSTEM (LEFAS)
    OVERVIEW
Utilizing similar Electronic Control Units (EU’s) from the EHAS system, the
Leading Edge Flap Actuation System (LEFAS) provides fully integrated
precision motion control of the leading edge flap flight surfaces. System
components include electronically controlled and driven rotary Power Drive
Units (PDU), Asymmetry Brakes, and Outboard Position Sensors (OPS).
F-35C CV aircraft also include a Foldbox Assembly to act in conjunction with
    the Wingfold Actuation System.

I understand that the things are full of electronics, but there’s no reason to make flight controls RF driven or even RF sensitive. These planes expect to get hit with high power RF and are therefore shielded as much as possible to minimize foreign signals. In many cases, simple is still the best and that would be wired servos and decades old hydraulic lines where the real muscle is needed. None of these things fly without hydraulic or pneumatic cylinders pushing the control surfaces around.

Could there be a system as part of flight control that is open to jamming by the adversary? Of course, but the engineers working on these systems aren’t stupid. Why open yourself up to loss of flight control if you don’t have to? But, then again, the F-35 is a POS and it’s anyone’s guess what kind of stupid decisions were made that the engineers had to incorporate. They gave that plane so many things it had to do that what they ended up with is such a compromised craft that it’s not that good at anything in particular.

I’m quite sure they weren’t made to be “RF driven or even RF sensitive.”

These planes expect to get hit with high power RF and are therefore shielded as much as possible to minimize foreign signals.

The thing is anything that depends on electronics can be disabled/damaged with enough incident power. I doubt anyone was expecting them to get hit with high power RF/microwave pulses probably with incident intensities well into the kw/cm^2 range.

I believe some of these Russian EW systems can output peak powers of many hundreds of MW, if not into the GW range.

In many cases, simple is still the best and that would be wired servos and decades old hydraulic lines where the real muscle is needed.

Apparently the F35 designers disagree with you on that.

None of these things fly without hydraulic or pneumatic cylinders pushing the control surfaces around.

According to the source I quoted, we’re apparently dealing with “electronically controlled and driven Electrohydrostatic Actuators”; so there are computers involved, and computers are susceptible to disablement/damage by RF/microwave power, right?

Could there be a system as part of flight control that is open to jamming by the adversary? Of course, but the engineers working on these systems aren’t stupid. Why open yourself up to loss of flight control if you don’t have to?

It’s probably not a matter of being “stupid” per se; it’s more likely a matter of not having any appreciation for the high-tech capabilities of your latest ostensible “enemies.”

Most U.S. equipment is designed to be used against third world countries like Iraq, Afghanistan, Libya, Syria, etc. And so while our imperial masters were squandering everything of value to create a military to take on such third world countries, Russia and China were studying the evil empire’s weaknesses and devising weapons and techniques to exploit those weaknesses. And modern Russia EW systems are apparently one of the results.

Bush Sr. who was president at the time, would not hear of it. He wanted the cold war atmosphere with Russia to continue. In came the buffoon Boris Yeltsin. Russia was interested in having a normal trade and diplomatic relationship with Europe. Instead, we installed more nuclear weapons pointed towards them. Why? The enormous wealth of the U.S. that could have brought peace to so many regions, was wasted on a big stick policy that served no one in the age of nuclear weapons. There are now so many armed nations in Europe, one would wonder why Russia would even bother with any old fashioned armed conflict against most of them. Ukraine is an utterly corrupt nation, with deep ties to Russia, that even wants the U.S. to fight for it. It’s all insane.

Over these couple decades of Ziusbri shenanigans, Putin was reconstructing the Russian economy for one thing—example being that his country has changed from a net importer of foodstuffs to one of the major exporters–as it was in 1913 before the Bolsheviks took over four years later.

Additional to economic revival, Putin’s military inventors and engineers created one mean fighting machine, with hypersonic missiles, massive (but stealthy) nuclear missile armed submarines and one that has the F-35 and other Western aircraft in a total bind–electronic warfare systems which cripple the overly computerized (but highly profitable for the Bank\$ter WarDefense industry investors) 5th generation “Flying Turkeys” as informed (and terrified) fighter pilots have been calling them. Additional to anti-aircraft faculties, Russian electronic warfare developments have also been used to shut down equipment on naval vessels.

So Putin built systems while the Five Eyes and NATO were gloating. Now the Germans, the French and the Italians are getting cold feet over schemes to create a war in Ukraine. They know what they would be up against, as those lands have some semblance of an independent mass media.

The media-engineered war-scare is currently running on fumes. What will they come up with next to keep American and European populations in the dark and filled with fear? The Plandemic has basically run it’s course and those Bank\$ter ruled puppet regimes are backing water like a steamboat about to run into shoaling water.

I’ll try to answer – best I can – I’m just a guy that keeps his eyes and ears open- but I’m not allowed in Ukraine. We do have friends and family there on the wife’s side – of course. And many Crimean folks and our friends have the same situation. They do travel in and out in order to see them. And the other day I asked a young woman { daughter of a close friend} living in Kiev , if she was worried about a war – and she said not really, but she’s more POd with the Neo Nazis clan and the stupid Ukie Gov.

Your friends seem to be the norm when it comes to worrying about a War between Ukraine and Russia. Certainly – no one here seems to be freaking out over any war and daily life here has not been altered. It’s like – well if it happens we will defend ourselves but who would be stupid enough to attack us – attitude. Talk about layed back people – lol . But Donbas is always on guard, which is the norm – unfortunately.

When talking to friends and family in Ukraine , there are certain things that we won’t ask or talk about because everyone knows that the Ukies are probably listening – or this is an old reaction from living in the old Soviet days – Russians keep secrets well hidden. lol So we don’t talk about politics or army movements or anything. This is only done when talking to Ukies – if talking Russia to Russia – anything goes = normal . Ya you’re right about the MSM and the hype – even RT seems to be on the bandwagon – so that’s all folks – Russians and most Ukies are playing Cool Hand Luke, while the West is needing to keep everyone – distracted from the real Problems and push War. …THE (as in, a region of Russia) Ukraine…

I am a peace advocate and an opponent of the Neocons; however, the above is not true. The Ukraine is a Nation with a long history of foreign rule and only two brief (one of which was very brief) periods of independence. (A short period after Brest-Litovsk and early 1990s to present.)

Ukraine was originally just a part of embryonic Russia, but a long period of Islamic rule followed by a long period of Polish Lithuanian rule created a distinctive language and culture. In Chicago there is a Ukrainian-American community, with its own churches and other institutions, which predates World War I. I assure you that this community is not a creation of the Neocons.

Fly by wire replaced mechanical linkages and most cables long ago. Why did I put things together and know that the US feared Alquada might topple the Saudi regime where we had a military base and got below market oil during the cold war which helped us win that war! Why did I know that contrary to the self serving medias narrative, Alqauda and the Saudi regime were enemies. I also knew that outside Saudi Arabia, Iraq had the 2 nd largest oil supply in the ME. And un- like fundi Saudis, the Iraqi women did not wear heard scarves, drank alcohol and so the US, fearing the toppling of the Saudi regime by uppity Saudi natives, saw Iraq as another oil rich base of operations to control the ME for the 21sy century. Secularized Iraq, where no fundi fanatics would be offended at us having bars and whore houses for the troops. [ Once under US occupation we build the worlds largest embassy from which we wanted to control the ME]. Hence the US concocted an Iraqi threat and the people went along with it, wanting in anger to go kill as many Arabs as they could after 9-11. Whether Iraq had WMD’s or not, Americans did not care which why they did not put anything together or challenge the war mongering narrative and today all they say about launching a pre-emptive mass murdering war against Iraq is oh well guess we made a mistake about WMD’s

The Turks also stole the so called “Turkestan” from other people.

The first people there were Indo-Europeans [Whites] who were related to both the Tocharians of Xinjiang [also Indo-European/White] and also related to the ancient Persians. The Turkish tribes are originally from Mongolia just as the later Mongols were, they began to appear in Central Asia beginning only in 300ad or around there and quickly began to attack the indigenous White population of Central Asia.

They over ran the Tocharians of Xinjiang and merged with them in that region – which is why the Uighurs are commonly 50% Caucasian and some can even pass as White in Western Europe. Kazakstan was also a Indo-European inhabited land before it was ethnically cleansed by Turks and their cousins the Mongols. So the Turks of Turkey would have to be deported along with the Turks of Central Asia all the way to Eastern Mongolia to make things right.

“What we are looking to do is widen that, so any company of interest to the Kremlin and the regime in Russia would be able to be targeted, so there will be nowhere to hide for Putin’s oligarchs, for Russian companies involved in propping up the Russian state.”

”Crime Wave Sweeps City of London”

”A veritable crime wave[1] has invaded the City of London, where millionaire investment bankers cook the books for billionaire clients and bilk the Treasury to pay their fines and flout the Law. Courses in business ethics are obligatory at Oxford and Cambridge since it has become standard operating procedure for mega-swindlers to plead guilty ,to pay a fine and avoid jail and to solemnly promise to never, ever, flout the law….. until the next mega-deal.”

”London has become the center of global financial capital by engaging in long term large scale active collaboration with multi-billion pound drug, arms, people smuggling and sex-slave cartels. The “Brits” specialize in laundering funds from the Mexican, Colombian, Peruvian, Russian, Polish, Czech, Nigerian narco-kings. Albanian white slavers have their ‘private bankers’ at prestigious City banks with a preference for graduates of the London School of Economics. Bi-lingual Greek kleptocrats, lifelong billion dollar tax evaders, fleeing from their pillaged homeland have their favorite real estate brokers, who never engage in any sort of naughty ‘due diligence’ which might uncover improper tax returns. The City Boys with verve and positive initiative, aided and abetted by the hyper-kinetic “Tony” Blair’s open door policy to swindlers and saints of all colors and creeds, welcomed each and every Russian gangster-oligarch-democrat, especially those who paid cash for multi-pound ‘Olde English’ landmark estates’.”

”The London Sanctuary for the world’s richest plunderers and parasites offers unprecedented services, especially protection from extradition and criminal prosecution at the site of their crimes. Impartial British legal and judicial officials are experts in citing constitutional precedents that, in strict regard for the established legal order, uphold the denial of extradition, denying the legal and justice systems of every pillaged country and the cries of justice of the impoverished Irish, Russians, Greeks and Spaniards.”

The Turkic tribes really didn’t steal Central Asia that long ago. The USA is called “stolen land” all the time and there is even a people called “Native-Americans”, yet the first English colonies were established only 150 years roughly after Constantinople was stolen by Turkish invaders. That’s not a long gap at all really.

Kazakhstan, so called “Turkestan”, Uzbekistan, Turkmenistan, these lands were stolen from the indigenous White Indo-European people only 900 years ago at most. Again, these were very well established lands that already had a large population and culture present.

If wrongs are to be righted. Then the closest relatives to the indigenous population of Central Asia are ethnic Russian people and also Ossetians, they should have the land and re populate it as the Turks throughout the lands that they stole in Anatolia and Central Asia are deported back to Eastern Mongolia.

Btw – Huns, they are overwhelmingly of indigenous [White] ancestry. The same is not true of the people of Anatolia whom the Turkish invaders raped. The average is 20% Mongoloid rapist DNA from that. So it’s not comparable at all. Finns, their tiny percent of East Asian DNA is not Turkish at all, it is ancient from thousands of years ago, so you are deflecting by even mentioning them.

”The very next day the Russian General Staff revealed that a Canadian warship was entering the Black Sea (with American and Polish ships) for a two-week NATO deployment, an act Russia viewed as a dangerous provocation as it has deployed its own warships off the Black Sea coast of Abkhazia, north of Georgia.”

”Prime Minister Harper, whose government had pushed Georgia’s and Ukraine’s full NATO membership at the Alliance’s summit in Romania earlier in the year, was in accordance with Rae:

“I think if we had taken a stronger position on the membership of (Georgia and the Ukraine), we would not have had the Russian aggression. I think that showing weakness or hesitation encourages this type of behaviour on the part of Russia.”

”Holy Moly! The most globalist and interventionist Pope since the Crusades of the 12th Century has formalized an alliance with the largest figures in global finance led by none other than that noble banking family, Rothschild. The new alliance is a joint venture they call “Council for Inclusive Capitalism with the Vatican.” The venture is one of the more cynical and given the actors, most dangerous frauds being promoted since Davos WEF guru and Henry Kissinger protégé, Klaus Schwab, began to promote the Great Reset of the world capitalist order. What and is behind this so-called Council for Inclusive Capitalism with the Vatican?”

On a link elsewhere, possibly true, the pilot had received another Covid injection a day or two earlier. As he turned final approach he said “I have the ball” (the visual glidepath guidance). The landing officer on the carrier monitoring the approach recognized the approach was unstable and waved the pilot off (a go around). As the pilot began the go around, he said “[email protected]@in jabs”.

I expect more in the future and it’s us doing it to ourselves with experimental injections given to our military with often alarming consequences.
