The latest GOP presidential debate gets under way at 8pm Eastern. This one is sponsored by WaPo/Bloomberg.

You can watch online here.

As usual, a lib-dominated panel and moderator will direct the event:

The October 11th debate will be moderated by Charlie Rose, Washington Post political correspondent Karen Tumulty and Bloomberg TV White House correspondent Julianna Goldman. Minnesota Rep. Michele Bachmann, businessman Herman Cain, former House Speaker Newt Gingrich, former Utah Gov. Jon Huntsman, Texas Rep. Ron Paul, Texas Gov. Rick Perry, former Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney and former Pennsylvania Sen. Rick Santorum will participate in the live debate at Dartmouth College.

The candidates will outline their economic and job creation proposals in a unique format: seated side-by-side at a round table facing the hosts and surrounded by audience members. This format will facilitate serious and substantive debate on issues of vital importance to the country.

We got a preview of the debate spats to come with this afternoon’s Christie-Romney endorsement. Christie smacked Romneycare critics for “intellectual dishonesty.” Romney smacked Perry for not disavowing the rogue pastor who called Mormonism a “cult.”

Herman Cain should smack them both for their endless flip-flopping, position-straddling, and base insults.

Some choices, huh? If you oppose Perry on immigration, you’re heartless. If you oppose Romney on Romneycare, you’re intellectually dishonest.

UGH.

A GOP candidate who wasn’t spending half his time disparaging core conservative voters would be a refreshing change, wouldn’t it?

While Perry attacks Romney as a Democrat reflection, he should check his own mirror. Over in the Golden State, Jerry Brown has just signed into law a Gardasil mandate (yes, the one I’ve been warning you about for weeks) and a DREAM Act for illegal alien students.

Votin’ like a true Texas conservative!
