One of the major American propaganda initiatives pretends to measure and judge nations, a stage performance in which Americans, with the invaluable assistance of the Jewish-owned media, hog the only microphone while exercising their presumed right to set the norms of evaluation of the inherent moral validity of other nations and forms of government, and even of national cultures themselves. But most of the standards applied in these exercises of ‘Feeling good to be an American’ are vacuous, measures undefined and largely undefinable, virtually all unmeasurable, and mostly utopian nonsense. We are constantly patronised with foolish claims of ‘freedom’, of ‘democratic values’, ‘rule of law’, the ‘rules-based international order’, or things like being ‘a genuinely free and open society’. The phrases, while appealing, are so general as to be meaningless.
Moral superiority doesn’t come from mouthing platitudes or pretending to utopian values, but from actions. It’s what you are, not what you say you are. I don’t much care what you claim to stand for or to believe in; I’m interested in your actions, which is where the proof resides. These juvenile PR performances consist mostly of Americans wasting everyone’s time in claiming foolish mythical ideals and providing long lists of things they ‘believe’ but never practice, their religious convictions proof of nothing except mass hysteria, especially the parts about democratic values. Americans believe they are ‘good’, but in what way are they, as individuals or as a nation, better or morally superior to a Canadian, a German, a Chinese or a Brazilian? The simple truth, obvious to everyone but Americans themselves, is that they are not superior, and there is compelling evidence they are worse.
When we are discussing the nature of nations, the intrinsic value of their governments and structures, and even of social morality itself, these norms set by the Americans are themselves wrong. The most important distinction for a nation, as with an individual, is its character, demonstrated by deeds rather than platitudes, the major determining feature of which is its attitude toward humanity, primarily reflected in its level of aggression or belligerence – the desire for peace or for war. Most everything else that is important about a nation or a person flows from this distinction, from a character of either respect and concern for people, or contempt and aggression. Though we often define these characteristics in political terms, their basic nature is not political but human, and reflects the character, the human nature, of the people living in these nations. The real measure of a nation exists in the same characteristics we employ in measuring people. We don’t primarily evaluate people based on their politics or religion, or their health, the extent of their assets or their physical strength. All these are mostly irrelevant when we ask, “What kind of person are you?”
Nations have personalities and personality characteristics which serve to define them. Germans are renowned for their precision and respect for quality. Only Germany could build a Mercedes or a BMW. Only the Italians could design and produce a Ferrari or Lamborghini. Only the French could make a 2CV. It isn’t an accident that Italy and to some extent France are the fashion centers of the world. Some nations and their people are imbued with a culture that values group cohesiveness rather than individuality, or naturally focuses on the richness of quality of life rather than obtaining possessions. Some nations of people are interested primarily in money, others in power. Virtue is as important in judging a nation as it is with people. We may be naturally envious and perhaps attracted to people who are rich and handsome or beautiful, perhaps powerful as well. But when evaluating others, most of us are able to look past the external and superficial and pry a little deeper, with our examination focusing first on the essentials of a person’s character.
Whom do we admire in our lives? People who are strong, but good. Superior men and women of great proportion and strong character, those who are not arrogant, mean-spirited or petty, but who are patient and tolerant with those less endowed or gifted. We admire generosity and a kind heart. We despise meanness and boastfulness, as we do jealousy and envy. We abhor violence and violent people, and avoid those easily aroused to anger. Nobody respects a man who throws his weight around, depending on his physical strength or powerful connections to protect him. Nobody admires a woman who lacks modesty, nor have we any respect for men who are predators of women or who enjoy preying on the weak. Nobody likes a bully or a hypocrite, a liar or a thief. None of us will choose to be in the company of someone who always wants to be in control, who refuses to recognise the needs or wishes of others, and we all know the dangers of a man who revels in power when he obtains it. Instead, we admire those who exhibit patience and tolerance toward those who are less fortunate than themselves. We respect honesty and personal integrity, an adherence to truth, a high level of maturity. We admire courage and we despise cowards. We admire those with a sense of justice for others as well as themselves, who treat others as they would like to be treated. We dislike and avoid those who are habitual liars, and most of us have a natural and well-deserved contempt for those who lie about others.
So, if we were to assess and evaluate Captain America, how would he rate in terms of moral or any other kind of superiority? To begin with the superficialities, we would admit he is physically strong, wealthier than many, perhaps handsome and well-dressed, and seems to live in a nice house. But then what? He claims to believe in a god, but freely breaks all of that god’s laws. He is nothing if not a violent person, violence toward almost all others being a defining adjective of his character, and he has been this way since childhood. There is no question he uses his strength to bully and intimidate everyone around him, and he is certainly a predator. Preying on the weak is one of his defining adjectives. He is also a coward, avoiding confrontation until he can sufficiently weaken an opponent from a distance before attacking, having never demonstrated any interest in what we might call ‘a fair fight’. Like his bullying, his meanness is legendary, and he is nothing if not a Social Darwinist, with his law of the jungle disposition directing virtually all his social encounters. He is not only mean and violent, but he enjoys making and watching other (weaker) people suffer, and has also been this way since childhood. He is generally determined to win at all costs, freely shedding whatever values he pretends to hold. He not only tells volumes of breathless lies, but he uses those lies to first denigrate the characters of those he intends to bully and physically attack, hoping the ignorant will not realise this is his tactic to justify his violence against them. And he is a whiner. He takes by force everything he can, and whines when he can’t.
Certainly, he is a hypocrite, his hypocrisy being so outstanding as to qualify as a defining characteristic of his nature. We see no evidence of a kind heart or a forgiving disposition, and the only product he appears to distribute with generosity is his inherent violence. It is obvious to everyone that he revels in power as does every inferior man. We see overwhelming evidence of his pettiness and immaturity, as we do of his lack of simple honesty and sincerity, insincerity again being a defining adjective of his character. He is often jealous and envious, to the extent he will do all possible to bring down those whose virtues stand out and who appear to attract admiration or respect of others. He is so deluded that in his mind, only he is entitled to respect and admiration, to say nothing of obedience. Justice (for others) does not appear to be in his vocabulary.
He is arrogant and boastful almost beyond description, modesty also being absent from his vocabulary. He boasts often of his high level of education, but he appears to be more ignorant than anyone anywhere. Greed is a most unpleasant characteristic, but this man is greedy in an especially unpleasant way, not only wanting to be rich to the extent that he will beat others and steal from them, but also determined that all others should be poor and should remain poor. He not only wants to be richer than everyone else, but wants no other person to have any riches at all. Superficially, he appears to make exceptions for a few of his friends, but surreptitiously he steals from them as he steals from anyone and, if push came to shove, he would freely use his violence against even them. He is also essentially lawless, violating any domestic or international laws that he finds inconvenient, depending on his physical strength and bullying power to protect him. Plato said it best, more than 2,000 years ago: “The measure of a man is what he does with power.”
Perhaps the most startling characteristic of this man is his capacity for self-delusion. He travels not only his own country but around the world, boasting sanctimoniously of his sterling character, telling all and sundry of his high values, his faith in his god, of his belief in freedom and equality, in what he calls ‘human rights’, and so much more, all characteristics that are patently and evidently non-existent in his actions. He then asks the world to ignore his multitude of criminal actions and judge him solely on these imaginary values he professes. Is the man crazy? Yes, of course he is. A psychotic, and a very dangerous one. But it’s even much worse than this. Captain America is first and foremost a killer. That is what he does best, and what he has always done, and he treats with utter contempt those whom he kills, especially the small children who are merely ‘bug splats’ to him. To say the man is pathological is to severely understate his mental illness. There are few anywhere in history who has killed as many people as this man, and who has done so as savagely and without remorse, or who glorifies killing as much as he does, writing and singing of ‘glorious battles’ he has had against weak opponents. He exhibits a thoroughly vicious level of criminality.
In early 2014, American writer John Kaminski published an article titled ‘America Minus the Mask: First and Foremost, a Nation of Killers’. He began by stating, “America is a nation of killers. It always has been, from the first Pilgrims who set foot in Massachusetts and later murdered the very people who had saved them from starvation. The entire American population is trapped in a self-delusion that they are heroes, fighting an endless string of evil enemies. But in fact, their targeted enemies have always been innocent people, usually minding their own business, put in harm’s way by their own valuable possessions, which Americans inevitably covet, and will kill anyone to get. The most prosperous and forward-looking countries have always been the best killers, and America, whose budget for wars and weapons exceeds the combined total of all the other countries of the world, is the most prodigious killer country of all time.”
He noted, as I have tried to detail extensively, the intense propaganda campaign begun by Lippman and Bernays, that had Germans eating babies in World War I, and Libya’s Khaddaffi killing his own people, and so many more lies so the Jewish bankers in the City of London could remove an irritant and control the oil and gold. He wrote, “Though the lie is revealed, the outcome may not be changed. This is a portrait of American justice around the world, the legacy that this obnoxious nation of killers continues to unleash upon the world. All the fine words of theologians and philosophers are only meant to cover up the unspeakable realities of Hiroshima (and others) that aim to pare down the population to a manageable level on a plantation run by fellows with whips in their hands.” He ended with this paragraph:
”How proud must Americans be that the US continues to be the war-making giant of the world. All it takes nowadays is a fistful of practically worthless dollars, and the US sucks another prostituted nation into the corrupt orbit of the New World Order. A few of us try to stand up and point out that this is all wrong, but our voices are lost in a tidal wave of irrelevant trivia that is more important to most people than their own lives, than their own well-being. And as new planes are launched and new bombs dropped, our voices are drowned out by the ugly sounds of people gasping for breath and dying, because of our refusal to acknowledge that we ourselves have failed to protest the lies that are killing them. Because of our profound ignorance, our families will soon suffer the same fate of those innocent people who have died because we did not have the courage to confront the lies we were told, and are still being told. America is a nation of killers. If you call yourself an American, you must accept that as the truth, and act accordingly in some way to try to redeem yourself from the thoughtless scumbag that history will judge you as having been. Or at least you will have to do that if you care about anything at all.”
I briefly discussed elsewhere the recent Hollywood movie “American sniper“, based on the true story of a Chris Kyle, an American described as “the most lethal sniper in American history, whose fame spread in all directions, a hero …” This man wrote a book about himself, describing in part how he so much enjoyed killing Iraqis, even young children, watching their mothers in anguish and weeping over the dead bodies of their children. The book became hugely popular, spending almost a year on the New York Times best-seller list. Hollywood made a movie about him that was also wildly popular, being nominated for six Oscar categories at the Academy Awards, and Texas Governor Greg Abbott officially declared February 2 as “Chris Kyle Day” in the state, “in honor of an American hero”. Bronze statues were cast in his honor. One newspaper said the film received “widespread praise among conservatives for depicting an American soldier at his best”. Chris Hedges wrote a powerful article titled “Killing Ragheads for Jesus”, in which he stated this movie “lionizes the most despicable aspects of U.S. society – the gun culture, the blind adoration of the military, the belief that we have an innate right as a “Christian” nation to exterminate the “lesser breeds” of the earth.” He wrote that the movie opens in a church where the congregation is listening to a sermon about “God’s plan for American Christians”, where our hero sniper, Chris Kyle, will be called upon by God to use his “gift” to kill. Kyle is quoted as saying, “I only wish I had killed more. I loved killing … I loved what I did. I still do … it was fun. I had the time of my life”. Hedges noted that Kyle even got a tattoo of a cross on his arm because “I wanted everyone to know I was a Christian.” The righteousness of killing in god’s name has stalked America since its birth and is as virulent today as it has ever been. If this doesn’t frighten the hell out of you, I don’t know what would. How can you avoid concluding that Americans are totally, criminally insane?
In all of this, I think we could ask Americans a few questions. Doesn’t it turn your stomach to know what your government has done in Afghanistan, Iran, Iraq and Libya, and the CIA death squads in Haiti, Nicaragua and El Salvador? How do you feel about Madeline Albright deliberately killing half a million small children to teach Saddam a lesson? If you’re proud of that, what exactly are you proud of? The dead babies? The fact that you could kill them without punishment or retribution? How can you, as a human being, not respond with wrenching disgust at such a person and the people who appointed and supported her? Have you seen the photos of the horribly genetically deformed fetuses emerging in Iraq, Libya, the former Yugoslavia and Vietnam? How can you live with that? How do you feel about your country so freely killing so many millions of women and children in other countries, then lamenting a few children killed in a school in your country? How is your President different from any psychopathic dictator or mafia boss? How can you not be revolted by your own President, government, and country? How can you, as an American, simply turn away and not look at the centuries of evil and misery your country has inflicted on so many innocent nations?
You have always taken great pride in your Presidents and other national leaders, often citing them as evidential justification of your nation’s moral superiority, but most of your favorites like Washington, Lincoln, Roosevelt and Kennedy are non-starters, with a long enough list of slime, sleaze, racism, pettiness, cruelty, immorality, criminality, and genocidal instincts to make Attila the Hun believe he was born before his time. A great many of your Presidents, Secretaries of State and Defense Secretaries were certifiably criminally insane. How do you feel about your leaders opening a university dedicated to teaching torture and repression of civilian populations? You take such pride in your democratic institutions, but how do you answer the charge that your Congress is the greatest single body of traitors in history?
Where in all of this do you find a foundation for your claim to moral superiority? How are you as an individual superior to anyone, anywhere? How is your government superior? How are your Presidents and leaders morally superior to the genocidal thugs they instruct at your School of the Americas? Your entire country, from its “democratic” government, to its institutions, CIA, military and corporations, is just one large criminal enterprise. I don’t see how it is possible today to be an American and not be deeply ashamed of my country and everything it stands for – not things it says, but the things it does. It is long past time for the world to stop pampering you, and instead to challenge your mindless claims of goodness and superiority by presenting you with all the dirty truths of your nation, and demand from you an accounting of your actions and crimes.
You pride yourself in being a democracy, government by the people, and claim you are in charge, that you dictate the actions of your Congressmen and Senators, and have the power to replace them at any time. Whether or not these claims are true, you as an individual are responsible for the enormous crimes of your government. You either knew or should have known what your President, CIA and military were doing, and your willful ignorance cannot excuse you. And when you learned of these crimes, you did nothing. You didn’t object, you didn’t speak out. There were no street protests, no millions of letters to the editor that expressed your horror or even disapproval. In fact, most of you appeared to approve of these acts, priding yourself in being American as you appear to define that term. And in all of this, you are so proud to be an American that you sing yourself to sleep each night with lullabyes about your democratic values. But how dare you boast to me about your democratic values when your hands are dripping in human blood?

Americans have done more than any other country to pervert the teachings of Jesus to justify war and murder. There is not a single word in the Gospel to recommend a Christian murder another human. The Church in America (Catholic and Protestant) has, in a shocking display of cowardice, sided with “America” rather than with God. Your paragraphs on Christianity are, and I write this with great sadness, absolutely correct. America is indeed The Great Satan, and the world will not see peace until it can no longer trample others underfoot in the false name of God.
I’ve known all that you’ve said here for a very long time. I’m 83. But the way you said it strikes a chord with me:
My father beat the shit out of me and three of my four siblings, and we learned after his death that he beat the shit out of our mother too – though she did a pretty good job of hiding it when we were young.
I recall the beatings with perfect clarity; leather razor strap from age 3 to age 7, then closed fists from age 7 to age 17. I’ve calculated about 150 blows to my head with full force, closed fists over those ten years; (average 5 blows per incident, 3 incidents per year, 10 years). Broken glasses every time, bloody nose every time, I cried every time, never struck back – ever.
He broke a 2×4 over my youngest brother’s back, and beat my youngest sister so badly she missed two weeks of high school due to injuries on her butt and thighs. (I had left for the Army by then so did not know about any of their beatings until many years later.) But my siblings have assured me that he did nothing to any of them that compared to what he did to me: “we were there; we watched what he did to you; nothing he did to us was as severe as what he did to you”.
He then tried to run over me with his truck when I was 30.
I learned the Prisoner’s Dilemma early: he beat the shit out of me whether I behaved or did not behave (I ALWAYS behaved because to not behave was not an option.) But I got the shit beat out me anyway.
This does start in the home and transfers to the community and the culture and the society. Sad to say, parental violence against kids is rampant, and I’m surely not alone.
So, Mr, Romanov, you are right, again; you tell it like it is and for that I thank you.

Evangelicals are the most bloodthirsty. Every Born-Again “Christian” blesses the terrorist state of Israel. Every Born-Again “Christian” says we need to get tough with Russia. Evangelicals never met a war they didn’t like. Sad to say, but these Satanists (posing as Christians) represent 25% of the U.S. population.

I didn’t need or want him to murder people 5,000-plus miles from our borders who had no capacity or plan to invade us. He didn’t deserve to wear the flag on that uniform. Then again, after a while you have to wonder if that’s what the flag has really stood for, for a long time now.
We’re good friends with evangelical Baptist families who strongly oppose what the US has done and is still trying to do to Russian peoples in Russia and the ukraine. I’d definitely guess that the majority of such people are blindly pro-belligerence and anti-Russian in an utterly ignorant, ill-informed fashion. But thankfully not nearly all.
Yeah, the more-than-25% that supports the legal “right” to murder innocent human beings at their most helpless stage in the womb — overwhelmingly NOT evangelical Christians and usually not regular churchgoing Christians of any stripe — are so much better.

It was painful to read that part of your brief history. I understand and sympathise. I have known people with the same experiences. To have survived as you have done, and not have become terribly bitter toward the world, is an accomplishment of major proportion and deserves respect. Thank you for sharing.
The Roman Empire was pretty bloody with its conquests, arena spectator ‘games’ watched by throngs for their amusement, carnage and decadence. Genghis Khan’s mass exterminations and brutality were quite chilling. And so on down the line. Americans are pikers by comparison. There’s nothing new about this sort of behavior on a mass scale except that Americans know it’s wrong and therefore lie about it to make themselves feel better. They’re just more hypocritical about the gap between words and deeds.

I lived and worked in an Persian Gulf emirate, where the leader had absolute power. Contrasting how people lived in this emirate to most other countries with a so called democratic system, I noticed the respect and affection that the Arabian desert people had for their leader, the impressive economic growth that this young country enjoyed and the security that surrounds the residents or citizens anywhere, as opposed to democracies with the extreme dislike of the political leadership, the extreme stress trying to make a living, the insecurity and the overall frustration of the citizen of the republics falsely calling themselves democracies.
Mr. Romanoff has already shed light in a previous article about the Jewish roots of our current phony democracy. It is amazing how much the Judeo-Masonic clubs thrive in all republics; the whole system is their creation starting from the English revolution to the French Revolution to the Bolshevik one. Romanoff made a very perceptive observation which was that the historically recurrent phenomenon of having host countries order the Jews out every few decades or few centuries stopped with representative democracy.

State success or failure are recorded publicly in fine detail, meticulously documented, and synthesized into categorical indicators. Treaty bodies and charter bodies feed review data to the Human Rights Council, which informs special procedures for issues like the urgent US state failures documented and intensively monitored by the HRC and CAT. We could use this voluminous review data and run a cluster analysis differentiating and characterizing states as you described, with multiple nonparametric measures of goodness of fit. It would tell us what we already know. The USA has been called a rogue state. Actually, it’s an asshole state. It’s like if you invited a Cro-Magnon man to a swanky party. He would knock you down with a club, fuck your wife, take a dump on the floor and carry off the best cutlery. Eventually you would take care of him. That’s what the SCO is doing now.

I believe it began with Hiroshima. The US became the greatest nation on earth, the embodiment of virtue and righteousness, by committing the most horrific crime in the history of the world. We reveled in mass murder. And then what? We began a successful effort to create weapons that have the capability of destroying all or much of human life on earth. I was a part of that effort. Now we’re at a point where the monstrous evil that has grown in the US since Hiroshima can finally manifest itself, and no one is surprised. We await Armageddon passively. The only part of the national mind that seems to notice that something is amiss is Tucker Carlson!.

Your observations are essentially correct. As proof, we could note that nowhere, in any part of society or commerce, does there exist anything resembling ‘democracy’. No corporation, school board, charity, hospital system or anything else is operated by dividing the staff and management into two “factions” and having them fight it out to see which ideology will control the organisation. Instead, in every case, all are on the same team, working for the best interests of the organisation.
It is widely recognised that any large corporation or other organisation that split into factions with widely-differing management ideologies, and that swung from one to the other, would be headed for bankruptcy. Democracy is indeed a fraud, designed solely for the ease of parasite outsiders to totally control politicians and a country silently from behind the scenes. For the first 150+ years. American democracy mostly worked. Voting was limited to landowners, who had good reason to cooperate most of the time. (1)
Obviously this fell apart periodically, but ultimately it was put back together. When travel was slow national leaders moved to DC with their families for the “legislative season”. Bonds of daily interaction away from work built relationships that transcended (or at least mollified) pure partisanship.
Inexpensive plane travel and the need for perpetual fundraising, changed life in DC. Elected officials left their families at home. For much of the year, 3 or 4 day legislative weeks allow for travel. The day-to-day social contacts were lost, and partisanship became amplified.
This was made worse by the 24×7 cable news cycle. And, then fell further with the onslaught of “social media”.
Fundamentally, American democracy needs to be reworked. Only those willing to bear the responsibility allowed to vote. There are many possible ways to approach this. It will likely take some sort of upheaval, not necessarily a full Civil War, to generate Constitution 2.0.

it isn’t necessarily good devotional music. Some psalms talk about God, while others– the ones I’m assuming you would consider appropriate lyrics for good worship music– talk to God. That’s the case for hymnody in general: I heard a sermon on worship once, in which the preacher said that eyes closed and hands lifted make sense when one is singing to God, whereas in songs about God, folks in the congregation should be looking around, nodding in agreement with one another. I’ve never witnessed an “about God” hymn being sung that way, however.

My HOA includes some of the most prominent citizens of the town, prominent because they are high-level administrators in State government or are attorneys. I thought of this quote the other day when I watched the wild ovations in Congress for the man in the sweatsuit, and the Ukraine war, and asked myself ”Why?” Maybe the above is why. Is that the national psychosis? Is that what I saw in the high-school cafeteria, where the “head table” consisted mainly of football players?
I am English. My view is that America learned this kind of behaviour from us. The pity is, the average Americans I meet are genuinely decent people. Though I don’t agree fully with the statement, I can tell from personal experience that the former Yugoslavia wasn’t less free than any country in the West today. It doesn’t mean it was free either but the essential difference is that people didn’t lie to themselves that they lived in a free country. So truth, even if the government tried to suppress it, continued to have value. Truth has no value in the West b/c people have a “democratic” preference for lies that comfort them. Since there can be no freedom without truth, it tends to show that democracy is incompatible with both.
The idea of a “benevolent dictator” is the morphine that dulls the mind to what dictatorships start off as or eventually morph into. Currently, most people are willing to cheer on the police state in China and the dictator Xi because things have improved massively during his time at the controls. If history is any guide at all, this will pass into what dictatorships always seem to progress into.

Except that Putin didn’t start the war in Ukraine. The US started the war with the Maidan coup in 2014 and 14000+ people were killed before Russia intervened in February. Add to that dozens of biolabs, Ukraine stockpiling nuclear material far beyond what’s necessary to operate power plants, its stated ambition to acquire nuclear weapons, the US intent to deploy missiles at a stone throw from Moscow, the intensification of bombardments of civilians in Donbass, the West’s and Ukraine’s total contempt for signed agreements, the list is long. All put together, they make a hell of a casus belli; Russia was left with no choice but to go to war. When someone is set to put a Damocles sword over your head, you don’t sit idly in your chair.
As for Putin being a dictator, I think Russia has no lesson of democracy to receive from people ruled by the likes of Biden, Trudeau, Macron, Rutte, Scholz, Meloni or whomever the Rothschild put as front in the UK. And if a measure of authoritarianism is necessary to keep down the Rothschild and Soros financed fifth column, I bet that that the vast majority of Russians see no objection. As to the encroachment, that is a red herring. Given today’s technology, a few hundred miles worth of a demilitarized Ukraine is of no consequence to missiles that can travel thousands of kilometers at hypersonic speeds. What was once an issue is now no longer much of one, but the old thinking hasn’t caught up to the new reality.
This conflict should signal that almost everything but drones and missiles are an anachronism in today’s world. Even fighter jets no longer actually have dog fights. Instead, they are high speed weapons platforms to give standoff missiles longer range. Soon, there will be no military planes with pilots inside them. The planes will be drones commanded by joystick jockeys on the ground or run by AI systems. The militaries will need fewer pilots and much less expensive planes with far greater capabilities once the pilot life support systems and space are used for more high tech gear. I do hope that some of the huge surface naval vessels get destroyed to demonstrate how much of a sitting duck they are to relatively inexpensive missiles.

I have a cousin, who was adopted by upper middle-class professionals because they had two daughters and wanted a son. I really don’t know – and for me it will be unknowable because I will not dedicate a block of my life investigating who was going to invade first – but Hitler acted against the consensus advice of his generals. I am familiar with this policy. And it certainly had it’s failings doubt. However, it is absolute nonsense that 1 million, 1/2 million, 1/4 million, 125,000 or 62,000 thousands died of starvation. It has been compared to Andersonville Prison an atrocity for sure. But what occurred during that surrender was nothing like what took place in Andersonville. And while there was conduct I certainly not approve . . . compared to the being a prisoner of the Soviet Union, a walk in the park. Bombing cities was not created by the US nor will end yo the same. And you are dancing to your drum here minus the drum. No one is claiming logistical error in those incidents. war is a nasty nasty nasty choice. It is filled with disasterous consequence for human beings. And humans make insane choices when doing so.
About the use of atomic weapons . . . I think there are plenty of reasons to question why other alternatives were not chosen and there was debate even at the time. Sovereignty over self is as I stated before important and human beings have been working out the nature of that sovereignty of self as it relates to community. Part of that record includes the nature of individual sovereignty in relationship to one’s community, such as nation state.

WWII was the direct result of Germany’s choice to violate agreements. The Munich agreement being the last straw. No Great Britain and France did betray Poland. I am not in support of a system in which the government centralizes politics and economy. So the use of the term statist is incorrect. My life is hardly one of a subservient individual to authority — without question. Quite the opposite. A nation-state cannot qualify as a “community”. This is particularly true with a large, populous and culturally, socially and economically disparate “nation state”. Contemporary “American” is virtually the polar opposite of anything remotely describing a community.

I would not make any claims that those with power, power, with access to wealth, connections and networks in law, education and politics are not in a position to access those rights and defend those rights or even violate them more than the general public.”
Absolutely our system has it issues. However, the checks and balances as well as citizen access to the process and access to their government as laborious as it may be. And I grant the system has a bias towards defending itself from accountability for error. However, there is no real evidence that the system of government we have is totalitarian or authoritative in nature — especially if one can avoid using the government — in otherwords, use government as little as possible. But by and the large the system works for most people.
The Supreme Court’s role is to align acts of government or citizens with the Constitution. Is said act in accordance with the law of the land. And one of the troublesome aspects of the system is that it is managed by an insider group of lawyers. And lawyers have a particular set of practices, and guidelines of procedure, and debate unique definitions . . . and even explore concepts in attempting to apply the law of the land in practice. Citizens United was just such a case, what constitutes an entity endowed with rights. And the body of law regarding corporate identity, status and practice is fairly deep. On its face to the common man — most of us – calling a corporation an entity endowed with the same rights as a person to free speech makes absolutely no sense. But if I apply the symbolic meaning of what a citizens is as a metaphor, one could craft a reasoned argument that said entity is fact as a person and as such is entitled to the same rights of free speech, limited by as others or extending as wide as said persons can afford to express.
It is here in the machinations, definitions, and technicality of laws that is dangerous, so I I fully comprehend your complaint. But this manner of technical wordplay did not start at the court. It started at the Continental Congress and then continued at the Constitutional conventions — most notably defining humans as property. You yourself have engaged in the same. Your argument about what sovereignty is is not based on anything aside from your own understanding such as to dismiss the idea entirely. Unless said meaning is to the benefit of your position. Hence the nature of discussion — common ground. Our courts are losing their common ground — or representing people and people’s issues as I think is your complaint.

When you as a citizen contribute to a campai9gn you are 3exercising your right to free speech — funding a particular point of view. Limiting the gift is a limit on your free speech. Suppose a group of citizens band to together in common cause to donate funds to express a particular point of view — you tell me what amount of money should they be limited to express their position. Explain by what right in the law can you limit the same.
Furthermore and this is key —– justices look at the arguments tat are the table. They may ask questions of those arguments and they may even disagree. But if a crucial argument is presented and for which there is no rebuttal — its to the mercy of the court to decide and that is risky. But consider the two opinions:
1. no law bars nor can it bar free speech even when free speech is via expenditures, you might want to examine the laws regarding corporate status — especially as it relates to the tax code — very much like a person
2. but the very idea that a nonhuman entity can exercise a civil right violates common sense — a common enclave of people is not a personhood the constitution is intended for – such entities are not people, certainly not citizens
The argument that I think that should have been pressed is that unless everyone in the corporate body agrees to a person on the speech or the use of funds, then it certainly cannot be considered a person exercising the speech of the whole. A technical argument for sure but clearly valid . . . anyway.
For us as citizens we have representatives that we would like to operate on behalf of the citizens they represent, that we as citizens refuse to hold them accountable —- is no less part of our problem. They are in fact the law makers, supposedly pressing the will of their constituents. Complaining about the courts is all fine and dandy, but the real hard work of fair play resides with those we select to make laws.
Currently in the states there is a huge push to incorporate technology into the judicial system. On it face it sounds wise. But its a mess when it comes to implementation. It sounds that everyone would be treated fairly . . . good grief not on abet. The end of the process is a human being and humans can orchestrate said mechanisms to their own will and design and they do. I had submitted documents that were rejected because — they arrived to the clerk upside down. The games that can be played with delay and demand by clerks, technology has simply added an entire new mechanism of bureaucracy — I swear by hard copy mail. But in an age where paper is bulk taking up space, requiring the push to technology is fairly strong expediency even over justice — but that is the nature of government. And there is this legal profession is loaded to bear with all kinds of income generating entities: stenographers-court reporters, disposition recorders, filers, paralegals . . . and all in the mix are huge corporations driving the system. Take a look at the number of entities involved in electronic filing. I digress . . .
If you and I want to keep the system working for the intended US citizen, pressing the courts may be one way to go . . . but in an age that is becoming increasingly technical a luddite such as myself is pulling a heavy load up a very steep mountain. And examining the an entirely different issue . . . lawyers verses nonlawyer. And the lack of technical lean of nonlawyers is clearly at issue. And the system of lawyers prefers lawyers and they will bend both procedure and technical rightness over justice — expediency over justice. And if free speech is a matter of money a nonlawyer is pressing the resources games if the court’s decide for whatever reason, they are not interested in justice on your behalf. State Farm has far more free speech rights when it comes to money than most citizens.
But again, the real barrier or bridge is the lawmakers we as a public select. I have probably over stepped here — notice I avoided getting onto the specifics of legal dealings. It’s dicey for lawyers and a minefield for nonlawyers.
It’s a very tough call to expect the court systems to repair the endemic issues in society.
The interesting thing is that the whole world seemed to work together directly or indirectly to save CPC’s ass. The Japanese attacked China saved CPC. The Soviet helped to save CPC. The American peace deal saved CPC. The KMT warlords that planned and executed Xian incident saved CPC…

You are of course kidding. You do realize that Mr. Carlson was for the invasions of Iraq and Afghanistan. Every war that the US was involved in was either instigated or provoked by the US. Every war..There are no exceptions. And, in addition, the US has not been involved in any good wars; they were and are all bad. As well, the Texas War for independence was started by settlers from the US because they wanted to keep their slaves as Mexico had just abolished slavery. Another fact known about the US: no foreign country can negotiate in good faith with the US because it will only keep its word when it is convenient for it to do so. Furthermore, any treaty signed by a US president has to be re-negotiated with the US Senate.
