Below is the article I recently submitted, upon request, to Press TV on the anniversary of the death of Imam Khomeini. Above is my latest Friday khutbah. I realize that this stuff is controversial—for example, people on both sides of the divide may bristle at my speaking the names “Khomeini” and “Trump” in the same breath—but if you can handle it, you’ll earn bragging rights and be able to say that you have been exposed to an interesting and perhaps somewhat unusual Muslim viewpoint. -KB

“Allahu akbar.” That phrase, “God is greatest,” is repeated no less than thirty times each day in the calls to prayer that ring out above the rooftops of the Muslim world.

In 1978, Iran was ruled by a Shah who, like Donald Trump, had an inordinately high opinion of himself. Like Trump, and like Pharaoh in the Qur’an, the Shah thought he was the greatest. And like Trump, the Shah wanted some of his own self-styled greatness to rub off on his country.

Trump and the Shah both wanted to return their countries to a mythical era of ancient glory. Trump conjured up a grandiose vision of the American past, almost as grandiose as his image of himself. The Shah had a similar vision. He wanted to return Iran to its pre-Islamic era of imperial grandeur, so that he could strut around in the robes of an ancient emperor.

Neither egomaniac succeeded in remaking his country into a replica of the bygone mythical days of yore. And neither succeeded in becoming Emperor-for-Life. Both ended their rule ignominiously—the Shah when he fled Iran on January 16 1979, and Trump when he was practically dragged out of the White House kicking and screaming in the wake of the January 6, 2021 debacle.

Since Trump was unceremoniously ejected from office, the US has continued on its path of moral, spiritual, cultural, and economic decline. Joe Biden is now even more unpopular than Trump ever was. Neither Trump’s MAGA movement, nor its Democratic opposition, has a clear idea how to set things right.

Iran filled the void left by the departure of its Shah with considerably more success, thanks to the genius of Imam Khomeini, leader of the 1979 Islamic Revolution and founder of the Islamic Republic. Ruhollah Mostafavi Musavi Khomeini (b. 17 May 1900, d. 3 June 1989) was a brilliant and highly accomplished religious scholar whose insistence on speaking truth to power gave him the moral authority to lead the uprising against the Shah that ushered in the world’s first Islamic Republic.

Like Trump, Iman Khomeini was at first not taken seriously by the Western establishment. Both expressed views far outside the Western mainstream. Both sounded, to the ears of political experts, naive about the realities of power. Both said things that sounded “crazy” to the experts—often because they expressed or alluded to taboo or unspeakable truths.

But Trump, like Imam Khomeini before him, rapidly accumulated millions of followers thanks to a new communications technology. For Trump, it was Twitter and other social media that allowed him to bypass the gatekeepers of traditional media and broadcast his message directly to the people. In like fashion, Imam Khomeini had bypassed the media gatekeepers by recording messages on cassette tapes, which were copied and recopied as they were smuggled into Iran and passed from hand to hand—an Iranian parallel to the samizdat literature of the former Soviet Union.

Just as almost nobody believed Trump could actually win the 2016 election, likewise almost no-one thought Imam Khomeini could overthrow the Shah and take the reins in Tehran. In both cases, the percolating people-power of peer-to-peer media was invisible to the experts. By the time a slight plurality of American voters in key swing states anointed Trump, it was too late. And by the time an overwhelming majority of Iranians celebrated the return of Imam Khomeini to Tehran on February 1, 1979, it was likewise too late for the CIA to do anything about it.

Both Imam Khomeini and Donald Trump wanted to radically remake their countries. Only Khomeini succeeded. Why? The short answer: Because Trump is a phony, while Khomeini was “the real deal.”

Trump, a narcissist and egomaniac, is in essence an actor permanently stuck in the role of his own inflated self-image. All of his decisions and actions are taken on the basis of their ability to make himself look good in his own eyes and in what he imagines to be the eyes of others. Since a man so wrapped up in himself cannot see much outside of his own puffed-up head, he is likely to act with marked incompetence, because he doesn’t know much about the real world.

Imam Khomeini, in sharp contrast, acted according to the Islamic injunction that one should surrender the self and always do what is right in the eyes of God. An advanced student of Islamic mysticism, Khomeini knew that al-fana’, sometimes translated as “the annihilation of the ego,” is a requisite step before one can experience al-baqa’, subsistence or permanence in an exalted state close to God. With the lower self out of the way, he could look at earthly as well as scriptural and divine realities and see them for what they were.

Imam Khomeini’s decisions, like Trump’s, often contravened the conventional wisdom of worldly experts and powerbrokers. The difference is that Khomeini acted under the dictum “God is greatest,” while Trump’s motto was “Trump is greatest.” So Khomeini’s decisions, as counterintuitive as they sometimes seemed, were based on worldly and Divine realities and wound up bearing fruit, while Trump’s were usually just plain stupid.

Western experts were shocked and discomfited by Imam Khomeini’s string of successes as he transformed the US-occupied kingdom of Iran into an independent Islamic Republic. They had doubted that Khomeini could ever achieve power, then doubted whether he would last more than a few days. The idea that such a man, with a formation so far outside that of the dominant political class in the West and in Western-colonized lands, could successfully wield the reins of power in a modern state, seemed to them unthinkable. And the idea that a coherent alternative to secular liberalism could not only be proposed and implemented, but might persist, seemed even more unthinkable. And yet today, the Islamic Republic of Iran, founded by Imam Khomeini, forges ahead, not merely enduring but generally moving from success to success, despite the rabid enmity of the most powerful worldly forces on the planet.

The US under Trump, of course, experienced no such success. No wall was built. No swamp was drained. Few manufacturing jobs returned. Cultural and financial corruption continued to fester. The liberal elite oligarchy kept its grip on power. The COVID-19 pandemic exploded and was badly mishandled. Ultimately, Steve Bannon’s dream of replacing secular liberalism with an amorphous traditionalist alternative, with Trump somehow being the catalyst, was stillborn.

The above comparison between two profoundly different leaders—and between two populist movements aiming to totally remake society by overthrowing secular liberalism—suggests that one succeeded while the other failed largely due to the genius, versus the marked lack of genius, of the respective leaders who embodied each movement. Additionally, the fact that the successful effort was rooted in a traditional faith and led by an extremely pious and erudite man of religion, while the unsuccessful effort was led by an ultra-worldly egomaniac obsessed with his own wealth, power, and self-image, indicates that secular liberalism is best overthrown by those who can offer a spiritually-energized and time-tested alternative.

    Khamenei represents “Peak Phony”.

He abrogated the original JCPOA deal while Obama was still in office. (1)

New reporting and an IAEA assessment reveal that Iran is in violation of both the Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty and the JCPOA

Iran was violating the 2015 nuclear deal, formally known as the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA), from the very start by hiding its nuclear weapons-related activities and sites from what was supposed to be the most intrusive verification regime in history. Second, while the JCPOA had many fatal flaws, including allowing Iran to retain a domestic enrichment program alongside expiration dates on clauses banning key nuclear activities, its most fundamental failing was allowing any deal to proceed without first obtaining a complete and verifiable accounting of all the Islamic Republic’s past and present nuclear activities—especially the program’s possible military dimensions.

The archive led the IAEA to discover at least four previously unknown sites, including three where inspectors found traces of man-altered uranium—likely sourced to Iran’s work to develop and test its military nuclear program. Parties to the NPT are required to declare nuclear material and activities to the IAEA, and the agency’s findings could lead its Board of Governors to declare Iran in non-compliance with its treaty obligations. The board’s pronouncement would mark the first political step in forwarding the file to the U.N. Security Council, which could then reimpose international sanctions.

Khamenei violated his own Fatwah by actively pursuing nuclear weapons.

The ultra-phony regime that delivered Iran unto ruin lies exposed. The Iranian people realize that theocracy has betrayed them with an aggressive, expensive, and failed foreign policy agenda: (2)

Protests against the legitimacy of Iran’s Islamic Republic continue to sweep across the vast country triggered by a multitude of reasons including rising food prices, the collapse of a twin-tower apartment building killing at least 29 people (with more dead feared under the rubble) and a considerable loathing of the clerical regime

During Thursday night’s protests in the southwestern city of Abadan, where the building had collapsed, people chanted slogans against Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei himself, saying “Khamenei is a murderer; his rule is illegitimate,” despite the deployment of riot police.

“The protesters, whose platform is mainly centered upon the government’s corruption and lack of human rights, have a global message; they’re calling out the regime spending billions of dollars on its terror ambitions and leaving the Iranian people without subsidies to purchase basic goods

The people of Iran grasp that sociopath Khamenei’s misdeeds have brought sanctions upon his regime. And, that the answer to getting rid of those sanctions is getting rid of the abusive theocracy.

MAGA remains untested. Trump’s 1st term required establishment GOP(e) Senators for appointments. Does anyone think that Trump wanted to nominate Elaine Chai (a.k.a. Mrs Mitch McConnell? This was further compounded by Jeff “Judas” Sessions shocking betrayal. He is now gone, enjoying his 30 pieces of silver in retirement.

The next MAGA President will have:
        — MAGA House for appropriations
        — Many more MAGA Senators for confirmations

This provides the opportunity to *begin* draining the Deep State swamp. It took decades for SJW Fascist Leftoids to dig the current hole. It will take multiple MAGA administrations to repair this damage.

  4. 1) khomenei was a egomaniac ….he thought of himself as the plato’s philospher king

    2) khomenei basically propelled himself to power and wanted power. lets say he led a movement that toppled the shah and instituted justice he would have relinquished power and or at least permitted the popular will to be implemented in the form of true democracy

    3) even more scary people used to call khomenei the Imam Al mahdi literally the herald of the messiah as fast i know trump doesnt consider himself equal to Jesus

I agree with your assessment of Donald Trump. I totally disagree with your hagiography about Khomeini. I had the opportunity to be very close to a number of Persians who had to flee his rule and I was informed about his capacity for cruelty. He had no tolerance for apostasy or sexual misconduct, and his willingness to kill people for crimes against HIS faith should alarm you.

While I agree that our secular soulless society in the West is not something to emulate, I do not think civilization is served at any level by a theocracy.

I know you are deeply religious KB and have strong beliefs, but most of us do not want our lives guided by religious dogma or clerics any more than we want our lives to be guided by Jewish supremacists always looking for a fight to advance their ambitions. Both end up being dogmatic, unreasonable, despotic, and ultimately very destructive. In fact in many ways we have a theocracy here in the United States guided by our clerics–supremacist Zionist Jews.

Neither option appears to me to be one that civilized societies should seek to emulate.

The only good thing about the theocracy in Iran is that they have refused to surrender their society to the Zionists–something that the West is doing faithfully.

Just like the Shah of Shahs, Komeini, was installed by western Imperialism to bring about chaos and destruction to the middle east. The benefactors of Mullacracy terror in the middle east are none but Israel and the west. The whole Mulla charade was about uprooting secular anti imperialist governments in the middle east and replace with reactionary medieval figures like Komini to serve Imperialism,
The Mullaas have achieved nothing and their dream of greater Iran using Shiism has failed miserably in the region. Iran is in deep economic recession and poverty and inequality due to graft and corruption that has put the country on the precipice of another uprising that this time may end up in total destruction of Mullas.

There is no difference between the so-called king of kings and the gran mulla, Kamenii.
One had a crown on his head and the new tyrant a turban.
There is no hope for a country that forces its women to cover up or be beaten on the streets and enacts racial, ethnic discriminatory policies against its non-Persian citizens and deliberately destroying the ecology of their regions.

The Persian regime is a reactionary cult, a failure and elevating it to so called regional power is a joke. It is nothing but a paper Tiger and both the west and east can erase it easily and install another dictator for that beleaguered country.

The Military Industrial Complex [MIC] loves your idea: (1)

Saudi Arabia will likely look to develop its own nuclear capabilities should an Iran nuclear deal go through, experts told Fox News Digital.

“If Iran went nuclear tomorrow, the next day the Saudis would probably buy a nuclear weapon from Pakistan or ratchet up their own nuclear program,” said Jim Phillips, a senior research fellow for Middle Eastern affairs at The Heritage Foundation. “They have a long way to go, but they reportedly financed the Pakistani program, and there might be some quid pro quo involved in that.”

The world you want will evolve like this:

-1- The MIC makes money selling weapons technology to Iran
-2- Then, the MIC sells the same nuclear solution to the Saudis
-3- Erdogan will not tolerate being left out, so the MIC wins again
-4- Greece will need nukes to defend against Turkey, more profits for the MIC

Will your desired future stop at #4?

It could go easily further. Every country that obtains nukes substantially increases the chances of a catastrophe.
    ___

Ukraine voluntarily gave up its nukes. Look at what is happening now.

Regardless of anyone’s position in regards to the current conflict in Ukraine, it has created one objectively true fact. There is a 0% chance of any currently armed nation giving up their nuclear defense. Anyone trying to suggest disarmament as a scenario will be guilty of strawmanning.

Khomeini was phony too. He had deep links with the Carter administration and even took money from the Carter Administration. He might have backstabbed his Western backers after the revolution, but he had secret support of the West during the revolution, who decided to pull the rug under the Shah.

In France, because of journalists and the press, and support and approval of the UK and the US foreign policies and their lack of trust in Shah to support their long-term interest, Khomeini’s speeches were published rapidly in global media.[28]
—Koya, Abdar Rahman (2009). Imam Khomeini: Life, Thought and Legacy. Islamic Book Trust
The UK, France and USA supported Khomeini.

The French-Algerian Captain who ushered Khomeini into Tehran’s Mehrabad airport. Khomeini probably did not want to be helped by any of the Iranians around him to avoid lending unnecessary prominence to anyone among his aides. It was later disclosed, but not verified, that the captain was married to an Iranian woman and the couple’s two children still frequently visit Iran. Rumor has it that he stayed in Tehran until 2015 when he died. Some reports have said that he was among the security agents the French government had assigned to protect Khomeini while he was in France.

Why was France so keen to give security to Khomeini?

Some of those who accompanied Khomeini in the flight back to Iran ended up being killed by Khomeini. Dariush Forouhar who was labor minister in the first revolutionary government was slain with his wife Parvaneh in 1998 by Iranian intelligence officers at their home for opposing the clerics.
Abolhassan Banidsadr, one of the ayatollah’s hosts in France, became Iran’s president but was ousted a year later and fled to France where he died in 2021. Ayatollah Hassan Lahouti whose sons were married to former President Akbar Rafsanjani’s daughter was reportedly killed in a prison in Tehran and his death was portrayed as suicide by prison wardens. Sadeq Qotbzadeh, the first head of Iran’s state TV in the Islamic Republic, was executed on charges of plotting to kill Khomeini and overthrow his regime only a few years later.

  18. This message is intended for Dr. Kevin Barrett.

Every American politician, every American journalist, every American college professor, and every American f*cking idiot are telling us that, in Arabic language “Allahu Akbar” means “God is Greatest”.

In Arabic language, “Akbar” does NOT mean “Great” or “Greatest”.

In Arabic, “Akbar” means BIGGER or OLDER.

For example, “My house is bigger than your house!” in Arabic will be “Baiti AKBAR min Baitak”.

    OR

If one has children and points to the eldest one as “Older than all my other children” in Arabic “Akbar min kul awladi”.

In Arabic language, “Greater” is AATHAM.

For example, “Great Britain” in Arabic is translated to “Britania al UTHMA”, but NEVER “Britania al Kubra”!

The reason why — centuries BEFORE Muhammad the Arabian Bastard METAMORPHOSED the supreme rock God of Pagan Arabia named “Allah” into “God the Father” or “Jehovah” of the Bible — the Pagan Arabs used to exalt their Pagan deity “Allah” with “Allahu Akbar”, because the Pagan Arabs literally meant that their supreme deity named “Allah” was literally BIGGER in size than any of all 360 deities in stone-sculptures inside the Ka’ba.

Muhammad the Arabian Bastard made “Allahu Akbar” the battle-cry of Islam whenever and wherever Muslims AGGRESS against anyone on the planet — be they Infidels or Kuffar or even Muslims of a different sect.

So, in my conclusion, now in North America and Europe, Christians and Jews apparently recognize that Islamic “Allah” is just another fictitious name of either fictitious Jewish “Jehovah” or fictitious Christian “God the Father” by broadcasting in the 24/7 mainstream media that “Allahu Akbar” means “God is Greatest”.

  19. Allahu akbar is supposed to mean “God is greater” (than my earthly deeds) and not “the Greatest”.
Allahu Kabir – God is the Greatest. Allahu Kabir means God is the Great – the Creator!

An enlightened Islamist will publicly never say, call, cry, yell, shout and what not the beggar’s “Allahu akbar”. The humbleness of “God is greater” is a rather private admission instead of public display.

A courages or bright light can say “Allahu Kabir” – God is the Greatest.

I suspect, that most know neither “God” nor what and how his greatness is, say stick to the begging: you are greater – you must be greater (than me little of whatever and whatever deeds).

    Allahu Kabir!

All respected America and its land of opportunity, particularly after its sacrifice to rid the tyranny of Hitler, Japan and standing up to Stalin. They were ambivalent about American foreign policy, particularly after Mosadeck’s removal from power.

What that meant for Iran self rule and its third world economy was still in formation. Persia’s history of monarchs played into the Shah for the moment, the shock of economic development around the corner.

I feel badly President Carter misplayed his hand with Iran, and opened the door to the despot Khomeini, a tyrant on the magnitude of Mao, Castro, Pol Pot, Lenin. The genocide of political prisoners in 1988 falls perfectly in line with his autocratic inhumane rule, Imas protecting power above all. Since Trump was unceremoniously ejected from office

In fairness to President Trump, he relinquished his office on Jan 20th 2020, 12 noon without any need for coercion/force/ejection.

As to the voting, the validity of some of the mysterious ballots that appeared in favour of Biden at 3:00 am will always be questionable.

I also admit Trump’s departure was not the most graceful either. He could have been a better man and welcomed the Bidens into the White House.

Americans lost more under (((Trumpstein))) in 4 years than they had under the other cuckold Israel First Presidents of the last 75 years. Look up controlled opposition in a dictionary and you see a fat Orange Man. Trumpstein & Company set up his Trumptard magatards on Jan 6th. Judas goat leading the lambs to slaughter.

Trump accomplished zero. Just another boot licker to Jews. The doddering fool now, Biden is quite possibly the biggest traitor to his own people in history.

Which brings us to 6 am on the 6th day of the 6th month which was (((celebrated))) yesterday. Yes sir, in 2022, it is obvious to all but the dumbest of the dumb that America fought on the wrong side.

  38. Trump, I firmly suspect– though I may be wrong– is merely a puppet of the Clintons. He ran against Hilary Clinton merely to make Hilary Clinton seem good in contrast. I think that is an interesting take on it.

  39. Yeah Yeah. Trump and the Shaw are like two peas in a pod. What a crock of shit.

  40. @lavoisier

He had no tolerance for apostasy or sexual misconduct

which probably is why he molested a girl as young as 4 or 5 years, as told in Hal Ataaka Hadeeth ur-Raafidah by Sheikh Abu Mus’abaz-Zarqaawi (source: http://crombouke.blogspot.com/2010/01/mufa-khathat-cleaning-mess-up.html, this has been eliminated from the web OF COURSE)

utter nonsense, I’m a “papist” and certainly do not worship that criminal idiot residing in the Vatican (besides I know he is not the first criminal idiot ever having resided there, but what does THAT matter?)

    Mohammed’s first wife Khadija

could you please explain how someone who does not exist, can have a wife (or anything whatsoever, for that matter)??? I’ve already written about that, you can read https://www.unz.com/article/what-are-we-to-make-of-vladimir-putin/#comment-5322389 if you like

Trump does what his JEW masters tell him to do. Peri0d. The End.

I will ignore the insane/ignorant comments on related subjects and answer this relatively sane one. The “hu” in “Allahu akbar” is NOT the same “hu” as the masculine pronoun. Arabic is a highly inflected language, and the vowel sound “u” on the last consonant of a word, in this case the “h” at the end of “Allah,” tells you that the word is in the nominative case, i.e. it is the subject (rather than object) in a sentence.

By the way, if I’d kept my mouth shut about 9/11, I would be getting paid to teach this stuff ; – )

As we all should know , Arabic is a highly civilised language whose creators are , unsurprisingly , the ancestors of the ( still relatively ) ethnically unmixed Bedouins.

Not only are the Saudis the “Guardians of the Holy Places ” , they are the originators of the language .

This accord is superior to that of Europe’s in which Christianity was imported by racially alien , Jewish subjects of the Roman Empire and whose Hebrew OT biblical language was so undeveloped as to lack vowels.

    European Colonialism’s worst mistake ?

Iran has accelerated its progress toward educational/technological modernity thanks to the Islamic Revolution. Under the Shah mainly the wealthy benefited from such progress, while half the population remained illiterate. Today there is universal literacy and Iran leads the developing world in educational and technological achievements. https://crescent.icit-digital.org/articles/iran-s-achievements-since-the-1979-revolution-islam-as-a-source-and-stimulant-of-knowledge

Totally wrong, vide Die Entstehung einer Weltreligion I, Hans Schiler Verlag, Berlin 2010, pp. 363-4. This book being part of a series “Inârah” initiated by the Universität des Saarlandes and whose aims and purposes can be seen under http://inarah.net/

    A non – sequitur.

The Arabic language predates Islam . In fact , the Koran ( The Statements ) was received by an illiterate whose now holy name was bestowed during the pagan age.
