It’s the only way to seal the border.

This video is available on Rumble, BitChute, and Odysee.

You hear the expression “crisis at the southern border” so often, you hardly pay attention. Maybe we need a new expression for what Joseph Biden is doing: catastrophe, disaster, calamity. The closer you look, the better you understand why some of the Republican hotheads are muttering about impeachment — but that’s not the solution.

During the campaign, future President Biden rang the dinner gong for illegal immigrants. He denounced the border wall, said Donald Trump was cruel, and promised free medical care for all illegals.

They got the message.

The new president had been in office just a few weeks before hundreds of potential Democrats showed up at the border wearing matching T-shirts that read, “Biden, please let us in.”

Then they knelt in prayer — to whom, I’m not sure.

They were part of what turned into a title wave.

Here are the monthly numbers, going back 20 years, of what are called “migrant encounters” on the Mexican border.

As you can see, the number bounces around, but see that red dot over towards the right? That’s November 2020, when Mr. Biden was elected. The numbers shot up. This graph goes only through July last year, but since then, illegals have broken the record of 220,000 set back in March 2000.

“Migrant encounter” means the Border Patrol caught somebody. There can be two outcomes: immediate expulsion or apprehension and some kind of further processing, such as an application for asylum. This graph shows the proportion of apprehensions to expulsions over the last 10 years.

As you can see, the percentage of expulsions has plummeted. What happened? The red line marks the end of the Trump administration and the start of the Biden administration. That’s what happened. The Border Patrol expelled a lot fewer people.

So, not only has the number of “encounters” gone through the roof, the Biden people are letting a whole lot more illegals stay — which encourages even more to sneak in. The stampede for the border has brought exciting, new ways to get here: “Smugglers increase use of locked railcars to move migrants into Texas.” The Border Patrol got a tip, cut the locks off the doors, and found 50 people inside.

If they get locked in on the Mexico side, who is supposed to let them out once they get to Texas?

Some illegals don’t make it. Headline from the Washington Times: “2021 Sets Record for Most Migrant Fatalities.”

Last year, there were 557 illegals we know of who died trying to cross the border. There was also a record number of rescues: 12,854 illegals more would have died if the border patrol hadn’t saved them.

But let’s get back to the people who make it. The Center for Immigration Studies issued an April 19 report that’s worth quoting: “CBP encountered 221,303 illegal migrants at the Southwest border last month — that was March — bringing total encounters there to just fewer than 1.06 million for just the first half of FY 2022. Worse, DHS released more than 80,000 of those migrants into the interior last month, raising the total number of migrant illegal releases under the Biden administration to 836,225.”

Here’s Alejandro Mayorkas, head of Homeland “Security” — what a joke — cheerfully confirming that figure of 836,000.

But it’s worse than that. That figure of illegals on the loose doesn’t include an additional 157,000 unaccompanied children, who are housed on your dime until Alejandro can find homes for them. Not to mention 620,000 “got-aways,” the people the Border Patrol saw hopping the border but couldn’t catch. And no one knows how many more got in without anyone noticing.

That’s a total of at least 1.6 million brand-new illegals — about half a percent of the current US population — who waltzed into the country since Uncle Joe took office. If they claim asylum, they are home free until they get a hearing. Any idea what the backlog is for asylum hearings? Here’s a graph of increases in asylum cases every quarter. Look over on the right. From a low point shortly after Uncle Joe took over, the numbers have been going up, up, up. And remember: These are additional cases, not total cases.

There are now 1.7 million backlogged cases. That’s the number of people waiting — and probably hoping never to get — their day in court.

And let us not forget the 76,000 Afghans who flew in as “humanitarian parolees” after the collapse of our pet government in Kabul, many of whom are still living in hotels at your expense.

They qualify for every welfare program there is.

Nor should we overlook the 40,000 Cameroonians who just hit the Biden jackpot and got Temporary Protected Status, meaning they will probably live here forever.

And they are in addition to the 100,000 Haitians who got TPS last year. It’s known as “amnesty light,” and Alejandro can hand it out with a flick of his pen hand. The foreign-born population is now at a record 46.6 million people. That’s the equivalent of more than five New York Cities and, of course, doesn’t include the US-born children of foreigners.

The Federation for American Immigration Reform has just put out a report called: “How Many Illegal Aliens Live in the United States?”

The media love to talk about 11 million, but that figure is 10 years old. After a careful count, FAIR thinks the number is at least 15-1/2 million.

Illegal immigrants consume more in services than they pay in taxes, so the total net cost of illegal immigration since 2010 keeps rising and is now more than \$140 billion dollars.

That’s right out of your pockets, dear readers. FAIR’s conclusion? “[T]he Biden administration has effectively abolished the mission of U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE).”

And I can promise that things will only get worse. One of the big reasons the previous administration could pitch so many illegals back across the border was because Mr. Trump invoked what is called Title 42 of the Code of Federal Regulations. It’s based on a law passed in 1944, which gives the government the power to ignore asylum requests — and just about any other reason to let someone into the country — in order to keep out foreigners with infectious diseases. So far as I can tell, Mr. Trump is the first president to use Title 42 — to fight Covid.

Naturally, along with all the other sensible Trump immigration measures Mr. Biden has ditched, he wants to stop using Title 42, which would mean that pretty much anyone who can stammer out the word “asylum” will stay, and get a ticket in the court-hearing lottery. There may be a legal bump or two on the way, but Alejandro happily expects Title 42 to be out of the way later this month. Even the New York Times concedes that ending Title 42 could mean 18,000 illegal crossings from Mexico every day.

Eighteen thousand a day. How does that compare to the monthly figures we have been seeing so far? Eighteen thousand a day means 540,000 a month.

Already, more than half of the Border Patrol agents in the most heavily trafficked sectors are away from the border, feeding, housing, transporting, and babysitting aliens. Who’s going to be left to guard the border when we get this flood?

Don’t worry. Kamala Harris has things under control. She’s going to make everyone south of the border so happy they won’t want to come. The Hill thinks “Kamala Harris is right about how to deal with root causes of migration.”

She has sleuthed out the problems in those countries that she is going to solve: “corruption, violence and poverty, the lack of economic opportunity, the lack of climate adaptation and climate resilience, the lack of good governance.”

That’s a lot. She’s got a “\$4 billion four-year inter-agency plan to address the underlying causes of migration in the region,” which includes El Salvador Guatemala and Honduras.

The combined population of those three countries is 35 million. Four billion dollars would be \$28.50 a year for every man woman and child. What will that get them? A month’s worth of tacos? Kamala Harris must surely be the stupidest person ever to be second in line to the presidency.

But, again, don’t worry: “Harris says she spoke to leaders of Japan, Finland about combating migrant crisis.”

I’m sure the Finns were sitting there thinking, “Not our problem, lady.”

But not all Democrats are half-wits. They haven’t seen my little graph on projected “migrant encounters,” but as The Hill reports, “Democrats pressure Biden to back off Title 42 decision.”

They know voters don’t want half a million new illegals piling in every month, and at least for now, Title 42 can keep them out. But not even Republicans can claim for much longer that we have to seal the southern border against Covid. We have to seal it against people.

Any nation that can’t do that doesn’t deserve the name. We need a new title — I think 1790 would be a good number — that says no one has a right to come.

Asylum, refuge, emergency parole, family reunification — that’s all baloney. We should let in only the people we want, and only for reasons that suit us. Let’s go back the first and best standard for new American citizens: “free white persons of good character.”

  1. It is so great that Mr. Unz has this great presentation featured on his site. It’s kind of a shame that this same guy seems to think this whole existential problem is all hunky-dory though, at the same time, but he doesn’t have to agree with all the writing on his site. (In no way could he, in fact!)

The long-running immigration invasion, both legal and illegal, is a more important problem than any other this nation has, even more than the coming financial collapse!*

I have just a couple of quibbles, though, Mr. Taylor:

    1) “Catastrophe”, “disaster”, “calamity”, and even the original “crisis” all have connotations of this being inadvertent. No, you know, as well as the VDare writers/readers do, that this is all purposeful. You gave one of the big reasons – the D votes. Let’s use something like “destruction”, “treason”, or the like. Not only is the border being purposefully un-enforced and the incentives for a flood of new arrivals put in place, but the Biden Administration has been doing it’s own Human Trafficking. Where did a guy like Joe Biden learn how to do human trafficking, I wonder?

    2) That 11,000,000 illegal alien number goes 20 years back, not 10. I believe some banking/financial numbers were used to get this estimate, but I consider it nothing more than rectal extraction. If anyone can pull a number out of his ass, I will go with 30,000,000. Quite a few of us reckon the number is that high now**. (Many people completely ignore the Chinese illegal immigration which is pretty high – see Peak Stupidity‘s post with some inside info: “The China to King Buffet pipeline”.)

Thank you for this great post, Mr. Taylor.

    * The latter will be more acute of a problem, and a real mess, but if we don’t do something NOW about the immigration invasion, we have no reason to care about the other problems.

** If you use that 11 million in 2001, then just standard “high” influx of 1 million yearly would get us right up there. OK, a few people die in drunk driving crashes, but that’s insignificant (except to the poor American families maimed and killed …)

“… its…” not “it’s… ” “own Human Trafficking…” , for those about to quibble with the quibbler. Sorry.

  3. As always, Mr. Taylor teases out the real issue. What is so sacred about title 42, when no other law or issue is recognized as being sacred to the democrats, including the U.S. Constitution?

  4. SafeNow says:

    (1) Kamala is not second in line to the presidency. She is first in line, because Biden is not in line. This criticism might sound trivial, but the error invites a snarky Dem response: “If you can’t count, how can I trust your charts and graphs?”

    (2) “Free white persons of good character” should be expanded to include some NE-Asian immigrants.

    (3) Achmed’s number of 30 million seems about right. (Regarding 11 million, A regular columnist at a prominent liberal newspaper conceded to me that when he wrote 11 million, he was using “the house number.”

    (4) The administration has argued that the insurmountable problem with remain-in-Mexico is that it requires the cooperation of Mexico, and darn, Mexico would say, OK, U.S., here are “20 things” the US has to do for Mexico. So what, I say; you do the 20 things. A Rolex for every taco-maker, whatever.

  5. Realist says:

Kamala Harris must surely be the stupidest person ever to be second in line to the presidency.

Biden gives her a good run for the money.

Let’s go back the first and best standard for new American citizens: “free white persons of good character.”

Excellent idea…how can that be accomplished? Hint the electoral process has been neutered.

As long as Whites allow it it will continue.

  6. It would be interesting to see what the result would be if the issue were put to a referendum. How many (or how few!) would vote that citizenship be henceforth extended only to white people? No doubt the proposal would fail overwhelmingly. The only question is by how much.

The reference to the 1790 Act is also misleading because in 1790 it was citizenship in the states that was important, not federal citizenship. From the founding there has always been a substantial fraction of white people that see race as unimportant, due to misconceptions about human nature rooted in the Bible. Even in 1790 at least five of the 13 original states had already extended citizenship and the vote to free negroes. As Christianity became secularized and it sank even deeper into the culture, it freed all the slaves and made them citizens too. Since then it has fought tenaciously against a scientific conception of man that would give proper respect to the importance of race, and these struggles continue even to this day. Thus we can see that this racially suicidal fraction of whites has only grown larger over time, not smaller.

  7. Catiline: “Thoughts? [link]”

He contradicts himself and exaggerates. For example, he says Lincoln “strongly supported” the Corwin amendment, when in reality all he said was he had “no objection” to its ratification. His support was lukewarm at best, and he could afford to appear to be conciliatory and play the statesman because he knew the amendment would never pass. There just weren’t enough votes, even if the states that had already seceded rejoined the Union and voted in favor of it.

Also, the fact that such people as the author quote Lincoln at all is amusing, because in both of his inaugurals Lincoln clearly identifies slavery as the cause of the war. Somehow they always forget to tell you that.

Although he is trying his best to argue that slavery wasn’t the cause of the war, he also writes that “Northern support for terrorists like John Brown was a huge issue. The North was already at war with the South. ” As John Brown’s sole motivation was freeing the slaves, this amounts to an admission that the North was already at war with the South OVER SLAVERY.

Anyone trying to argue that ending slavery wasn’t an essential cause of the war is also faced with explaining why negroes were not only freed, but made citizens and given the vote as a result of the war. Was this a rational decision based on a calm examination of the evidence, or a decision made out of moral hysteria stemming from the Bible? Obviously it was the latter. In this connection one occasionally one will hear that it was just done out of spite, to take revenge on the South. But this can’t explain why the changes applied to the whole nation. The Christian moral lunatics of the North imposed these same conditions on themselves as on the defeated South. Negroes were given citizenship and the vote nationwide. Further, we have to observe that in the more than a century and a half since negroes were granted these things, there hasn’t been even one serious effort to revoke that and repeal it. This indicates that the same Christian moral sentiment that misconceives the nature of man and denies the importance of race persists and has even grown more powerful over time, since arguably the Christian white men of the 1860s were merely ignorant, while today we have very strong evidence that pretending the races are equal is sheer fantasy, and a ruinous one at that.

Presumably, Unz isn’t bothered by illegal immigration for the same reason rich Democrats aren’t bothered by allowing it: he’s wealthy enough to not have to deal with the detriments. People only become aware of a problem when it’s knocking at their front door.

Thank you again for everything you do Uncle Jared Taylor!

  10. @Dr. Robert Morgan

Ignoring the issue whether the war was primarily to “preserve the union” or “end slavery”, Black citizenship is still a separate issue. Lincoln supported ending slavery but he also supported colonizing freed slaves in Africa. If Lincoln had not been assassinated, there likely would have been multiple Liberias.

  11. Fidelios Automata: “Ignoring the issue whether the war was primarily to “preserve the union” or “end slavery”, Black citizenship is still a separate issue. ”

I don’t think so. Understanding the specifically Christian madness of making the freed negroes into citizens is essential, not only for understanding the cause of the war, but also for understanding the religious mania of the times.

Fidelios Automata: “Lincoln supported ending slavery but he also supported colonizing freed slaves in Africa. If Lincoln had not been assassinated, there likely would have been multiple Liberias. ”

Since Jared Taylor has literally spent decades misinforming people about this, it’s perhaps not entirely surprising that you believe this nonsense. Taylor is fond of talking about Lincoln’s so-called plan to “colonize” negroes elsewhere, but always forgets to tell you that Lincoln’s plan was VOLUNTARY. Would you care to explain how all the negroes volunteering to leave was ever realistic? LOL! On the contrary, it was doomed to failure from the start for that reason. Furthermore, Lincoln himself knew that it was doomed. That’s why, in his last public address before being assassinated, he called for them to be made citizens and given the vote! Obviously, he expected the vast majority of negroes to stay.
