In a Empire of Lies, only brush with reality will inform people of the truth, especially as lives have become more atomized. In the past, when people were closer to family and kinfolk, they might have heard of first-hand experiences of close ones. Now, many people just know their nuclear family or individual lives, and much of their view of reality comes from mass media controlled by Jews. Of course, social media can spread the raw unfiltered truth — visual evidence of black criminality and other social problems — , but then, that is why Big Tech enforces Censchwarzship and why the Zionic Big Media and Big Academia have gotter ever more shrill and hardline with Political Correctness.

In the 70s and 80s, there was the notion of being ‘mugged by reality’. It implied that the US had become a country of lies. After all, if truth was readily available, one wouldn’t need to be mugged-by-reality to know the reality. One would have heard of it even if one didn’t experience it. Consider tigers, grizzly bears, and sharks. Most of us never saw a tiger or bear firsthand(except at a zoo). And most of us never got bitten by a shark. But even without having been mauled by those animals, we know they are dangerous. We know a tiger can kill you in a split second. A bear can tear you apart. A shark can have you for lunch. We know this because we were taught the truth about nature. Don’t wander into a forest where tigers lurk. Be wary in bear country. Don’t swim in shark-infested waters. So, we don’t need to be ‘mauled by nature’ to know nature can be dangerous.

But the notion of ‘mugged by reality’ suggests a white ‘liberal’ will turn ‘conservative’ or more realist IF AND ONLY WHEN he comes face to face with grim reality, especially of black criminality. Otherwise, he will continue to be a ‘liberal’ for two reasons: The systemic deception of academia, media, & entertainment AND the conceit of being ‘tolerant’ and ‘progressive’. There’s too much mendacity and vanity involved in being a good ‘liberal’ or a ‘good conservative'(aka cuckservative) for that matter as even conzos now fall all over themselves to demonstrate they are not ‘racist’.

Now, things would be different if we were living in an Order of Truth than in an Empire of Lies. Even people who never experienced black crime(or had a friend or relative attacked or murdered by blacks) would know that blacks are a problematic race, mainly due to evolutionary factors: Africa is a dangerous place, and not only the black race but various species are more vicious there(for survival’s sake). African elephants are bigger and more aggressive than Burmese elephants. African buffalos are more dangerous than those in Vietnam. African rhinos are bigger and even more bad-tempered than Indian rhinos. All such dangerous animals plus ace predators such as lions, hyenas, leopards, wild dogs, crocodiles, and etc. have made organisms in general(and that would include Negroes) more ferocious, aggressive, and muscular. Also, the non-black races, having experienced the Northern Cold(even if they later migrated downward to places like South America), had some of the impulsive traits weeded out of them whereas the impulsive oogity-boogity genes remained intact among African Negroes.

In an Order of Truth, people would be informed and instructed as to the ways of Negroes. Just like one doesn’t need to be mauled by a lion to know lions are dangerous or be bitten by a rattle snake to know it’s venomous, one wouldn’t need to be mugged-by-reality to know the truth of reality. But we don’t live in an Order of Truth but in an Empire of Lies where ‘truth’ or ‘falsehood’ is defined less by actual ways and conditions of reality than by agendas, interests, and biases of Jewish Supremacists. In the Jew-World-Order, Iran is the ‘terrorist threat with nukes’ when it has no nukes. Israel has 300 nukes made with material stolen from the US. Israel aids terrorists in Syria. Israel uses terrorism to murder Iranian scientists. And Zionists in the US control US foreign policy to destroy entire Arab and/or Muslim nations. But, we are told ‘Israel is our greatest ally’ whereas ‘Iran is the biggest sponsor of terror’ and ‘Assad gassed his own people’. And consider all the lies told about Jews and Palestinians. Jews stole Palestinian land and continue to occupy the West Bank(which is being prepared for full annexation), BUT we are supposed to worry about poor poor Jews. And even though US uses NATO to harass and provoke Russia, we are told Russia is the perennial aggressor. US instigated a coup in Ukraine, which is now totally owned by Jewish gangsters. But Russia is always the threat. US surrounds China with numerous military bases, but China is the big bad guy in the neighborhood. US has military bases all around Iran, but, in accordance to the same twisted logic, Iran is the ‘aggressor’.

Fish rots from the head. US was never big on the truth, but with Jews at the helm, it’s gotten worse. Just like the Color Revolutions finally came home with the Jew-Coup against Donald Trump, the Culture of Mendacity that characterizes US foreign policy is now indistinguishable from US domestic policy when it comes to news and information. It has come home to roost. But then, why not, considering that Jews don’t look upon whites as Fellow Countrymen but as ‘foreign goyim’ to colonize and control? Jewish agenda toward whites doesn’t work in accordance to the concept of National Interests; the only part of the world where Jewish Power operates on the basis of National Interests is Israel where Jewish leaders feel as one with Jewish masses, and this explains why the media in Israel are far more honest and truthful; Jews share truth with one another but generally resort to lies with goyim to control them. Jewish perspective on white goyim in the US is more akin to Jewish attitudes toward Palestinians, Iranians, Arabs, Russians, and etc. It is about ‘us vs them’. Jews feel more like British Imperialists did toward the Hindus in India. When Hindu-based nationalism was on the rise in India, the British favored the Muslims as allies. (Initially when the British had taken control over India against the Muslim Mughals, they were more partial to the Hindus.) Jews now use blacks and nonwhites against whites in the way that the British came to use the Muslim minority against the Hindu majority in India. What Jews fear most is the reawakening and liberation of white consciousness. In the past, it was the fear of violent Anti-Semitic mobs or anti-Jewish discrimination that animated the Jewish agenda. Now, Jews are addicted to supremacist power and rely on white subservience to maintain Jewish Hegemony around the world. Jews know there are preciously few true-blue Nazis around. They don’t fear the rise of New Hitlers. Jewish fear isn’t that of the slave but of the master. The slave fears the master may no longer need him and sell him down the river. The slave fears the master will forever deny him freedom and dignity. In contrast, the master’s fear is different. His first fear is the loss of power and privilege over others, something he’s become accustomed to. It’s like a rich man fears being poor more than a poor person does. Whereas a poor person is accustomed to being poor, it’s totally anathema to the rich man who’s come to believe he’s deserving of the good things in life. When Jews had survival or basic rights on their minds, they had something of the slave mentality. Today, they are the rulers of the West and have a master mentality. They don’t so much fear the potential for white mob violence against Jews as the possibility that Jews will lose their hegemonic status if whites refuse to play along as puppet-servants of Zion. Paradoxically, Jews bait whites with guilt over ‘white supremacism’ to ensure that whites will continue to aid and abet Jewish supremacism. It’s pure bait-and-switch. It’s not a campaign against supremacism per se but a selective targeting of white consciousness as ‘supremacism’ to perpetuate Jewish supremacism(and those of their allies, blacks and homos).

Things get tragic or tragicomic in a world where only one’s direct contact with reality(or something close to it) wakens one up to the truth. It’s worse if the danger is covered up or forbidden as a topic of candid discussion. It’s even worse if the danger is lionized, sanctified, and extolled as if it’s sacred. Imagine there’s a button that is dangerous to the touch. If you press it, you get jolted really bad. Now, in an Order of Truth, people would be told, “Don’t press the button cuz you’ll be electrocuted.” Thus, even those who never came upon the actual button would know it’s dangerous. It’s like the skulls-and-bones sign with the words ‘poisonous’ on certain bottles. You don’t have to drink the stuff to find out if it’s dangerous, just like most people know they shouldn’t pick and eat mushrooms in the wild with proper knowledge. This way, you don’t have to push the button, feel the shock, and learn the hard way to know that it’s dangerous. But suppose it’s taboo to speak about the button’s danger. So, someone who comes upon the button may press it out of accident or curiosity. Not having been informed of the danger, it was the only way for him to find out. The hard way. And yet, he doesn’t tell anyone about it because it’s taboo to badmouth the button. But worse, suppose the powers-that-be spread the message that the button is a wonder-of-wonders, and there’s nothing wrong with pushing it. Indeed, you SHOULD press it. Of course, you get the most unpleasant jolt. Then and there, you should be jolted or ‘mugged’ by reality. But what if, due to the incessant narrative pressure that consecrates the button, you feel ‘sinful’ and dirty to say that you were hurt by it. So, you pretend it was actually rewarding. Or, you say(in self-flagellation mode) that you deserved the righteous ‘punishment’ from the button because of ‘muh guilt’, also pushed by the powers-that-be on the button-pushers. If a river is polluted and toxic but also regarded as holy and divine, people may still choose to bathe in it and drink from it because, all too often with humans, irrational emotions override factual reasoning.

This is where we are with blacks. People can only be ‘mugged by reality’ because the Jewish-controlled academia, media, and state spread mostly lies about blacks, pathology, and criminality. Facts tell us that less than 20 unarmed blacks are killed by the police in an average year, but the majority of ‘liberals’ believe the number is 10,000! Even though blacks are champion robbers, rapists, thugs, and murderers, so many people see blacks as hapless victims of ‘systemic racism’ and ‘white supremacism’. Often, whites and nonwhites who live in unblack areas are often the biggest suckers of the Narrative. They see Magic Negroes on TV and movies; they are bombarded with news about blacks as victims. Also, as local news always describe black thugs as ‘teens’ or ‘youths’ or some such euphemism, the message gets out that it is taboo and unacceptable to mention the race of blacks when they do bad. Furthermore, the powers-that-be go boo-hoo-hoo over black deaths(when killed by whites) but totally ignore nonblack deaths, especially if the perpetrators were black. All such manipulations subconsciously instill the masses with the sense that black lives are more important than nonblack ones. While the ideology of America yammers about racial equality, the Jewish-controlled idolatry of America favors Jewish, homo, and black lives uber alles.

Under such conditions, many people are ill-informed about the black problem. Even the children of whites who moved to the suburbs in White Flight from blacks end up with the wrong idea. Instead of being grateful for their own safety and security away from black thuggery and crime, they come to believe, via education and news, that they have undeserved ‘white privilege’ while poor helpless blacks are being oppressed by ‘systemic racism’. What about their parents who made the move to get away from black crime? In many cases, they dare not speak the truth that they know to their own children because people are naturally status-conscious conformists, and it’s become ‘unacceptable’ for ‘good people’ to speak frankly about the race problem, especially pertaining to blacks. So, many white parents don’t tell their kids. Also, in the safety of the white community, they gradually forget about the reality of black crime and become increasingly influenced by media lies and entertainment manipulation(where blacks are either presented as heroic/saintly, tragic/magic, or cool/badass if bad; so, even when blacks are presented as gangstas, they be idols to rhapsodize about).

One would think, with all the White Flight and Neo-Liberal hardline policies against black criminality beginning with Bill Clinton, most white people would know about the reality of race. Tragically, there is a huge discrepancy between general action and collective emotion. On some level, of course many whites knew. That’s why even Jews and white ‘liberals’ joined in White Flight. It’s why Neo-Liberals got tough on crime and locked up so many blacks and implemented stop-and-frisk. They also supported immigration on grounds that newcomers will make better employees and safer neighbors than the blacks. And yet, none of this could be said with any honesty over the years. Under Jewish control, blacks became ever holier and special in symbolism even as Jews and white neo-liberals pushed policies to clamp down harder on blacks to save cities from crime and blight.

And yet, this set the grounds for even more Afro-lunacy. After all, if blacks are so special as the children of MLK as the media/academia have constantly reminded us(especially as conzos are just as cucked as the libby-dibs on blackness), why were so many blacks locked up and pushed out via gentrification? Why was there so much talk of holy homos and wonderful immigrants that took attention away from black issues? Now, the hardline policies on black crime and the push for more mass-immigration were led by Neo-Liberals in the big cities. And many of these were Jews. Lest any blame fall on Jews, Libs, and the Democrats, the powers-that-be chose to blame all of US history for the black problem. So, never mind the new policy that New York Jews implemented since the 1990s to save the city from black thugs. Just blame it on Jim Crow in the South or even go back to 1619. Never mind 1992 and Bill Clinton and all those New Yorkers voting for Rudy Giuliani twice and for Michael ‘stop and frisk’ Bloomberg three times. The thing is Jews really needed blacks to defeat Donald Trump in 2020, and so they brought back blacks who’d been shunted to the back of the bus relative to homos and immigrants for special attention, lamentation, and celebration. Of course, even when blacks were getting less love than homos and immigrant-diversity, they were nevertheless glorified as a specially tragic-magic people, and besides, blacks always had lots of idolic star power via sports and music.

In the long term, the black problem shows it’s useless to act on the truth if you don’t speak the truth. So much of US policy from the early 1990s was based on the reality of black thuggery and criminality. To win elections(by gaining white voters anxious about rising black crime), Democrats had to out-Willie-Horton the GOP. But being cleverer, Bill Clinton and Jews pulled something sneaky. They got far tougher on black crime while, at the same time, covering up their ‘racist’ tracks with highfalutin talk of the Noble Negro! They walked one way, they talked another way. They figured all the talk would serve as cover for the walk. Maybe blacks will be too dumb to realize it with Clinton as the ‘first black president’, Bush II as the ‘compassionate conservative’ who gave tens of billions to Africa, and Obama as the real first black president. And maybe whites will be too razzle-dazzled by rainbow-homos to become aware of what total phonies they are. And this foolery might have continued but for the presidency of Trump. Jews and the goy-cuck deep state hated him so much and wanted him out so badly that they were willing to UNLEASH THE BLACKEN(which turned out to be more potent than the Kraken).

It’s odd that black grievances mount with the passage of time. If the past was so bad for blacks, one would think they would be much better off with progress made through the years following the Civil Rights Movement. And yet, a large number of blacks remain mired in dysfunction, and in many cases, things have only gotten worse since the 1960s. A good number of blacks did make gains and progress, but they hold dear to outrage politics for two reasons. For street cred as their success might be seen as ‘acting white’ and betrayal of the brothas and sistas. And out of megalomania because successful blacks, like Jews and homos, just can’t get enough spotlight as the magic-tragic people.

History is usually blamed for black problems, but what has happened since the 60s is also part of history. In less than 39 yrs, it will be 2060. So, what went wrong? In a way, the problem was freedom itself. Freedom is only as good as those using it, and too many blacks used freedom in bad ways. More freedom can mean more opportunity, but it can also mean more corruption, more degradation, more self-indulgence, and more crime. Blacks were prone to abuse freedom more than other races because they evolved to be oogity-boogity. But no one dare mention the connection between freedom and foulness when it comes to blacks… just like Jews and homos can’t be blamed for anything; everything is blamed for the AIDS crisis EXCEPT the most obvious culprit, which was homo indulgence in depravity with new liberties. To say that blacks are naturally prone to act stupid and wild would be ‘racist’. So, never mind that it is true. Truth must take the backseat to the Narrative. But then, it’s perfectly fine to say blacks are naturally different and superior in POSITIVE ways. Interesting how that works.

It’s always back to scapegoating History while ignoring that all that has happened since the 1960s is also part of history, and that blacks must bear much of the blame because they used their history of freedom and equality in the worst possible ways. While the odd innocent Negro lynched by whites is part of US history, so are all the white and non-black victims of black criminality, thuggery, and mayhem. But what does it matter? Did anyone take the knee for all the people beaten, attacked, or murdered by the mobs in 2020? No, the only approved and compulsory sympathy is for the creep George Floyd who died of overdose and was no victim of police brutality. (Given Jewish bankers funded much of European imperialism and profited greatly from the West’s incursions into Africa, it’s interesting how Jews never partake of ‘white guilt’ when it comes to blacks. If anything, Jews demand that whites unconditionally support Jewish tyranny over Palestinians and terrorism all over the Middle East.)

It goes to show history matters far less than ‘thistory'(or this-story) as shaped by the powers-that-be. It was certainly true of Christianity. Even as Jesus’s death receded into history, He became bigger and bigger because the clergy that controlled the Narrative put Him front and center of everything. And even as Christians gained in power and persecuted non-Christians, pagans, and heretics(and even as the story of Christians being fed to lions became a distant memory, if it happened at all), the Narrative of Christian victimhood grew only bigger. Whether an event happened long ago or recently, what is ‘remembered’ and resonates depends on whoever has the power the decide what is commemorated. This is one why dead Negro matters far more than millions of dead Arabs killed by Wars for Israel. Jews have the power of commemoration that defines the current ‘thistory’. So, it doesn’t matter how far back something happened. It is relevant now IF the powerful make it so with their means of commemoration, reiteration, and mythologization. That a lowlife punk like George Floyd could be anointed into the pantheons of the sainted goes to show (1) how powerful Jews are (2) how effective ‘thistory’ is and (3) how stupid the populace has become over the years under Jewish influence to fall for such nonsense.

At any rate, in an empire of lies where the only path to truth is to be ‘mugged by reality’, we should do all we can to make sure that PC libby-dibs and cucky-wucks learn about reality the hard way. Let them be ‘mugged’ by it. Those drugged on fantasy must be mugged by reality. People like Derek Chauvin should NEVER sign up to for police work in blue cities. Let Jews and white libby-dibs defend their own bodies and properties from blacks whom they purport to love so much. Of course, there are venal Jewish supremacists and fiendish deep state lowlifes who know all about the black problem but pretend otherwise to keep the power and push the agenda. It’s like the Soviet authorities who willfully lied about grain harvests to keep the system going. But, there are plenty of suckers among the libby-dibs and the cucky-wucks. It’s the difference between Jews who sold Obama as a new brand of soap and the suckers who bought it, fainting left and right in rapture. The world is made up of fuc*ers and suckers. In an empire of lies where the suckers willingly go along with the fuc*ers, let the suckers be ‘mugged by reality’. So, people like Heather MacDonald and Ann Coulter need to stop trying to protect urban libs from black crime. If the libby-dibs are really into BLM and believe defunding the police will do wonders, let them follow such course and get mugged-by-reality. Stop trying to help or save people who hate you. This is why it was foolish for people like Rudy Giuliani to have cleaned up NY. By drastically reducing crime, it took away the one factor that ‘mugs’ libby-dibs into reality. Now, if the law-and-order types took pains to reduce crime with tough measures while, at the same time, changing the narrative to fit reality — “LOOK, CRIME WENT DOWN BECAUSE WE GOT TOUGH ON BLACK THUGGERY, the product of Negro evolution in wild and dangerous Africa” — , the policies would have been worth it. But just as the policies reduced crime, the narrative carried on with the same lies about Negro Victimhood and sanctity.

So, when the libby-dibs felt safer and more secure, they just embraced the Big Lie with greater gusto. Imagine someone who got sick from using bad drugs. For a cure, he’s put on healthy diet and exercise regimen. But all through the process, he is never told he got sick from those drugs. Rather, even as he’s recovering from the ill-effects of the drugs, his environment is filled with promotional material for the drug. So, what is the first thing he wants to do when he’s healthy again? To use the stupid drugs all over again. The proper cure would have not only forced him to eat better and exercise but inform him of the dangerous drugs. But suppose the healer isn’t allowed to speak the truth. He cures the person but doesn’t inform of the dangers posed by the drug. (Or worse, the healer advises the usage of the drugs even though he saved the man from the drugs.) So, when the guy is feeling good again, he wants to go back to using the drugs. If the truth isn’t allowed to be said, it’s better not to treat the guy at all. Let him abuse the drugs until he gets so sick that he finds out the truth for sure on his own. It goes to show it’s not enough to DO the right thing. One must also SAY the right thing, the truth. The word must be in sync with the world. It’s like Merlin says in EXCALIBUR, “When a man lies, he murders some part of the world.”

But the problem isn’t merely with libby-dibs and cucky-wucks but even with the so-called Dissident Right, especially the boomers whose gushy sentimentality about Jews prevent them from connecting all the dots. So, they’ll mention black crime and Muslim terrorism but hardly discuss the Jewish question. They are useless because the Jewish element is the most crucial. After all, it’s the Jews who’ve decided which button to push and which theme/issue to highlight for the moment. Globo-homo yesterday, BLM today, Tranny tomorrow, and etc. Indeed, it’s useful to distinguish between core power and favored power. It’s the difference between the sun and the planets. Planets near to the Sun get plenty of heat, but this heat isn’t self-generated but reliant on the Sun. In Hollywood, the big stars seem powerful, but they ultimately are not. Jews can make or break any of them. Jews are the sun, they are mere planets. Likewise, people who focus on tranny-mania but refuse to mention Jewish Power behind it are useless. They mistake planetary heat as auto-generated when it relies on the sun. Jewish Power is the sun that selectively chooses in the moment which group or issue gets the most light. There is hardly any action without traction made possible by Jewish levers of promotion and narration. Consider how the media was all about SAVE THE KURDS when Trump threatened to pull out of Syria. When Trump changed his mind, Kurds faded from view once again. Why did Kurds get a special boost? Because Jews aimed light at them. (Of course, Jewish Media don’t mention Syria is a hellhole because of Judeo-Nazi-dominated US foreign policy and Israel’s support of ISIS terrorists.)

What can result from the culture of lies or the cult of myth? Two obvious examples are the fates of National Socialist Germany and Imperial Japan in World War II. Without proper means for people to warn the leaders of the dangers of all-out war, doom was looming over horizon. And US foreign policy has been disastrous as the result of lies, except that Americans are fortunate to live in a country big and strong enough to fend off all attempts at retaliation. Japan and Germany declared war on the US and got totally smashed. But the US can spread lies, invade & destroy nations, and still stand tall at the end of the day as the lone superpower. Using the moral logic of WWII, the US surely deserves to have been nuked around 20 times.

An even more instructive case of the danger posed by the culture of lies is the Great Leap Forward, Mao’s manic plan to accelerate China’s transformation into a modern economy. So many deaths resulted from this, and it was all because of the culture of lies centered around the myth of Mao as an all-knowing god-emperor. Mao and his men didn’t mean to starve people. They really thought they were doing good. And yet, it led to what may have been the biggest man-made famine in human history. (The death toll from the campaign is a major factor as to why communist death toll in the 20th century is so high.) Unlike the Cultural Revolution that began with an air of menace(with Mao planning to purge and destroy his perceived ‘enemies’), the Great Leap Forward was launched with hope and optimism. Mao hadn’t planned to kill a single person but ended up killing anywhere from 25 to 40 million people. How could such thing happen? It was because, by the eve of the Great Leap, China had turned into an empire of lies. Through series of purges, struggles, campaigns, nonstop propaganda, and education/indoctrination, Mao had sent a message to every corner of Chinese state and society that he is not only numero uno but infallible, invincible, all-wise, all-knowing, super-duper, and awesome… and anyone who even suggests otherwise is in for a big surprise. So, if Mao hatched a plan to catapult China from a Third World nation into a First World one in a matter of a decade(or less), how could anyone disagree? His wish was their command. How could it be otherwise in a country where Maoism was the sacred law of the land, where Mao cult was the new religion? So, when Mao said his plan would be a great success, it had to be a great success. There was no other way. So, almost immediately, various provinces announced tremendous gains under the new program. Wheat and rice harvests were said to be doubling, tripling, quadrupling… If some provinces were making such claims, others felt compelled to do likewise or make even more extravagant claims. World according to Mao trumped reality. So, if Mao had great hopes for the Great Leap, then it was up to the Chinese to make sure that reality conformed to Mao’s vision. The provinces, having made big claims about increased harvests, had to ship the amounts stated to the cities. But in fact, there weren’t great increases in harvests. The claims were mostly empty rhetoric to appease Mao’s megalomania as the savior-builder-master of China. As grains were shipped to urban authorities in the exaggerated amounts, there was less food for the peasants doing backbreaking work. But being in tune with the spirit of infallible Maoism, the exaggerated claims continued and more grains were shipped to the cities. Even as the countryside had less food, China was sending food to other nations as aid. It did so because the government was convinced that the Great Leap was a wild success. In reality, things grew dire in the countryside. It was made worse by Mao’s insane campaign to kill sparrows that ate grain. It never occurred to Mao that sparrows also eat insects that consume even more grain. (In America, the sparrows are the police. Police are blamed for black deaths, but when police step back, blacks kill more blacks and other victims. America, where ‘pigs’ became the scapegoated ‘sparrows’.)

Now, the sane thing would have been for someone to tell Mao upfront before the Great Leap even started that it was a hare-brained idear. But who dared to say No to Mao? They were afraid even to say Maybe. It had to be Yes, Yes, Yes.

Or, Mao would have sobered up that it wasn’t going according to plan IF the officials in the countryside did not exaggerate grain yields. But how could they not when they were expected to produce unprecedented bounties? After all, Mao was infallible, and you’d be a damn ‘reactionary’ to fail to fulfill Mao’s dreams. Next, once the peasants started going hungry and dropping like flies from overwork and undernourishment, it would have made sense for someone to confess the grain figures had been falsified. But such a person would fear being purged and destroyed for having made up bogus numbers to fool Mao.
They were caught in a Catch-22. On the one hand, one dared not lie to the great Mao, but telling the truth could mean a death sentence. One felt compelled to lie in service of the Revolution as the Truth, but the lie could also be construed as treason. So, from all quarters, Mao heard nothing but happy news and glowing data. He genuinely believed China was advancing in leaps and bounds. Those close to him dared not speak any bad news. They existed in a state of fear and trembling. But eventually, things got SO BAD that the truth began to make its way to Mao in bits and pieces. When Mao asked about them, those around him denied the reports and insisted everything was going according to plan; and so more people suffered and died. But then, things got even worse, and the whole system began to break down. It’s like, even if your nerves have been blocked from sending pain signals to your mind, you will eventually notice something isn’t right when the body just feels wrong and isn’t doing what it should. It got to the point where Mao ordered his men to tell him the truth. What was really going on? Mao had to forcefully order others to finally tell him the truth. Mao was upset that the truth had been kept from him, but he created this very culture of lies. After all, so many people had been purged, imprisoned, or even executed for having told the truth or shown any real courage and independence of mind. He surrounded himself with loyalists, true-believers, and flunkies. So, by the time Mao realized what a fiasco the Great Leap had become the damage had already been done. He blamed others for not telling him the truth — he had to pry it out of them — , but he’d created the conditions were only the approved dogma and narrative were allowed. And in the end, he learned nothing because a megalomaniac will always be a megalomaniac. Even as he assented to the reversal of the Great Leap policies, he blamed the people for complaining too much once the truth was out. So many peopled had died of starvation, but the concerns were mostly an annoyance to Mao. And tragically for China, Mao was allowed to remain god-emperor, and it wasn’t long before he launched another crazy campaign, the Cultural Revolution.

There are parallels between Maoist lunacy and the insane Western Cults around Jews as new christs, homos as new angels, and blacks as new saints. Just like Mao remained mostly unscathed by the total disaster, notice how hardly any Jew connected with the insane Wars for Israel and Wall Street meltdown faced any consequences. Even after so many wasted lives, squandered trillions, and stolen gazillions, Jews are not only still in control of industries and institutions but objects of near-worship by both political parties. Even after so much black criminality and violence, it’s always groundhog’s-day-return to Noble Negro myths. And of course, US embassies now fly homo flags as the de facto new national symbol despite the cultural degradation unleashed by globo-homo, of which tranny-wanny insanity is a part. No matter what Jews, blacks, and homos do, it’s as if they’ve been fixed as the permanent neo-trinity of the West.

Some on the Right have said the ‘new left’ is like Maoism, but it’s not the case ideologically. Rather, something like Psychological Maoism has taken over the West. The current ‘left’ and its globalist enablers aren’t into communism or class struggle and all that, the ideological components of Maoism. What they have in common with Mao is megalomania and the obnoxious insistence on the culture of lies to prop up their moral nihilism, which is worse than moralism or nihilism. While moralism can be overbearing, it can be a sincere effort to be more moral. While nihilism is dangerous, it is at least honest in its embrace of total freedom. In contrast, Moral Nihilism means owning the high ground of morality no matter how nihilistically you act. This is the Jewish Way now. Jews can do anything, but they’re always right. They can lie, but it’s always the ‘truth’. Jews can kill, but they are always the victims. It’s an empire of lies. Jews have mao-power, or mao-pao.

The Western propaganda against Mao’s Great Leap Forward is possibly the biggest hoax in Western history. The ‘biggest man-made famine in human history’? 25 to 40 million dead? And yet nobody noticed anything except the CIA which was anxiously monitoring how Mao went about developing China’s first A-bomb? The Empire of Lies is the USA which did everything it could to stop Mao from detonating China’s first A-bomb in 1964.

If your Western propaganda is even half-true, then why did Mao step down as President of China at the end of 1958? Here’s the NYTimes news article on Mao’s resignation as Head of State on Dec. 17, 1958, just one year into the Great Leap Forward:

    https://www.nytimes.com/1958/12/17/archives/mao-resigns-post-as-chief-of-state-keeps-party-job-reason-for-move.html

You didn’t even bother verifying the pseudo-history being peddled by the Western propagandists against Mao. Methinks you better stick with things like the Irish Famine or the Bengali Famine, both of which took place under British colonial rule.

Dear God! Study some (comparative) history before ranting about foreign countries.

Britain’s Great Famine killed 10% of Ireland’s population, a much greater death toll by percentage than allegedly done by Maoism and the Great Leap Forward. 25% of Ireland’s population suffered death, casualties, and forced emigration.

By contrast, nobody starved to death in China (the ‘excess deaths’ were all people older than 58 years, the life expectancy).

The Great Leap economy grew almost as fast as its decadal rate, 6%, and some stats bear that out. These are from “China: The Steel Industry in the 1970s and 1980s” a CIA study available at https://www.cia.gov/library/readingroom/docs/CIA-RDP86B00985R000300040017-8.pdf

Steel output expanded smoothly during the early 1950s. Production surpassed the pre-Communist high of 900,000 tons by 1952 and reached 5.35 million tons in 1957, the final year of the Soviet-style First Five Year Plan.

Despite steady progress in steel and other branches of industry, Chairman Mao felt that growth could be even more rapid, and in 1958 he launched the Great Leap Forward, all ill-advised attempt at instant industrialization. Small iron and steel plants sprang up all over the country. These plants featured the notorious backyard furnaces and small, obsolete side-blown converters for making steel. Output from these primitive facilities gave rise to exaggerated claims of huge increases in steel production.

Simultaneously, the Chinese proceeded with the construction of modern plants. Installation of equipment was speeded up, and capacity at the large plants reached about 12 million tons by the end of 1960. The Chinese reported that output from the large plants exceeded their rated capacity, reaching almost 13 million tons in 1960. These plants were operated around the clock with little attention to maintenance or repair. The new small-scale plants added another 6 million tons of steel production. The steel from the small plants was nearly useless, however, and the low quality of ores and pig iron used at the modern plants reduced the quality of their output as well.

Following the Great Leap Forward, China closed almost all of the small facilities and began to repair the damage done to the large steel mills. Production fell from a claimed 19 million tons in 1960 to an estimated 8 million tons in 1961 and stayed at that level through 1963.

During the period of comparatively moderate policy (1961-65), China began to look to the West for modern steelmaking technology. After Krushchev pulled out the Soviet advisers and their blueprints in mid-1960, China was unable to push forward its steelmaking technology on its own. Accordingly, it bought basic oxygen furnaces from Austria and electric furnaces and air separation plants from Japan. Steelmaking capacity reached almost 18 million tons by yearend 1965 and production advanced to 15 million tons in 1966.

Here’s another CIA study entitled “Communist China: Expansion of the Iron and Steel Industry 1966-1971” on the estimated output of the steel industry in China from 1957-1962 (in Million Metric Tons): https://www.cia.gov/library/readingroom/docs/CIA-RDP85T00875R001700020080-0.pdf

That doesn’t sound like a man who treated the “backyard furnaces” as a joke, or intended the campaign as an intentional smokescreen to hide his other plans. It may look like that to you and Godfree, but he was forced to step down over that campaign (inter alia) and retired to Shanghai to plot his comeback.

Remember how Mao thanked the Japanese PM Kakuei Tanaka who had flown to Beijing in September 1972 to normalise diplomatic relations with China? When Tanaka started to apologise for Japan’s invasion of China, Mao told him that Japan need not apologize and instead told Tanaka:

“We must express our gratitude to Japan. If Japan didn’t invade China, we could have never achieved the cooperation between the Kuomintang and the Communist Party. We could have never developed and eventually taken political power for ourselves. It is due to Japan’s help that we are able to meet here in Beijing.”

Mao had a keen sense of humor. You need to read his mind, not just his words. Mao was publicly exhorting rural peasants to build “backyard furnaces” while at the same time privately assembling China’s top scientists for his nuclear weapons program. When the backyard furnaces were proposed to him as the solution to China’s problems, he said, “If that’s so, why did Europe never adopt them?”

From Remembering Socialist China, 1949-1976,* Dongping Han, Hao Qi, Mobo Gao. *(http://www.rupe-india.org/59/han.html):

With the great help of the then Soviet Union, the Chinese government and Chinese people made great strides in industrialization particularly during the Great Leap Forward years. Starting from a low base, the Chinese made their first car, their first truck, their first tractor, their first airplane, their first gunboat, and so on, in the late 1950s during the Great Leap Forward. A number of important plants were built with the help of the then Soviet Union, and began to play important roles in Chinaʼs economic life.

Also during the Great Leap Forward, Chinese peasants built a great number of reservoirs throughout China. Of the ten biggest reservoirs in China today, the Danjiangkou Reservoir, Miyun Reservoir, Shisanling Reservoir, Xiashan Reservoir, Xinanjiang Reservoir, Lushui Reservoir, Xinfengjiang Reservoir, Songtao Reservoir, Shengzhong Reservoir, and Guanyinge Reservoir, nine were built during the Great Leap Forward. From 1949 to 1976, the 27 years of the Mao Era, Chinese peasants, under the leadership of the Chinese Communist Party and Chairman Mao, worked on 200,000 kilometers of banks of the Yellow River, Hui River, Hai River, Liao River, and so on to prevent floods. In 1949, before the Communist Party came to power, there were only 6 big reservoirs, 13 medium-sized reservoirs, and 1,200 small reservoirs in China.

During the 27-year Mao Era, the organized peasants built 302 big reservoirs (a 50-fold increase, mostly during the Great Leap Forward), 2,110 medium-sized reservoirs (a 162-fold increase), and 82,000 small reservoirs (a 68-fold increase). The total reservoir capacity rose from 20 billion cubic metres before Liberation to 450 billion cubic meters in 1976 – a 21-fold increase. These irrigation projects, combining the functions of irrigation, flood control and electricity generation, effectively mitigated the potential damages of floods and droughts that threatened the livelihood of peasants for thousands of years. Chinese peasants no longer were helpless before the vicissitudes of nature for their grain production.Xinfengjiang Reservoir was nationally famous at the time it was built.
I had read about it before, but seeing it in person nevertheless has a profound impact on you. The reservoir has a 14 billion cubic meter capacity, an average of ten cubic meters of clean water for each Chinese citizen today. It has generate billions of kilowatts of electricity, helping power Chinaʼs rural and urban development. It has been an important asset in flood control and irrigation for the region.

Today, it is one of the most important water sources for Guangdong Province and Hong Kong.

The Great Leap Forward also laid the foundation for Chinaʼs industrialization. During the three years of the Great Leap Forward, China made great strides in the output of steel, coal, machine tools and electricity. The increase of output over these three years accounted for 36.2 per cent of Chinaʼs total coal production, 29.6 per cent of Chinaʼs cloth production, and 25.9 per cent of Chinaʼs electricity generation between 1949 and 1979. Of the industrial projects the Chinese government launched between 1949 and 1964, two-thirds were started during the Great Leap Forward.

During the second five-year-plan, which included the three years of the Great Leap Forward, China invested 120,090 million yuan and completed 581 big and medium industrial projects. Fixed national industrial assets increased by 861,820 million yuan. Without the hard work of the Great Leap Forward, it would be hard to imagine that China would be able to take off in the automobile, boat, transportation, and national defence industries. That China would develop nuclear bombs and satellites would be questionable. Great Leap Forward grain shortages?

Post-Mao Chinese scholars, together with their foreign counterparts, try to paint a very dark picture of the Great Leap Forward. They claim that the Great Leap Forward created an unprecedented famine in China. They circulate rumours that 36 or more millions of people starved to death. In 1958, 1959 and 1960, the Americans, the Russians, the British, the Jiang Jieshi regime in Taiwan, the Japanese, and South Koreans were all hostile to China, had spies in China, and listening devices around China to monitor what was going on. But they did not have any evidence to show there was a famine in China at that time.

The post-Mao struggle between the representatives of opposing lines in the Communist Party ended in an anti-Mao faction coming to power. This anti-Mao faction began a political campaign to tarnish the Mao era in order to legitimize their political return and to introduce a different political platform, opposed to that of Chairman Maoʼs. They started changing population statistics, and began to focus on the shortcomings of the Great Leap Forward. For many years, they only allowed one sided anti-Mao materials to be published. They used questionable methods to project the population changes in China during the Great Leap Forward, and eventually claimed dozens of millions of Chinese people perished during that period.

A Chinese mathematics professor, Sun Jingxian, and an Indian economist, Utsa Patnaik, have refuted these claims and denounced them as an ideologically motivated attack on socialism. I will not repeat their argument here. Rather, I shall present some of my own field research, which will provide a case study of experiences of people in the Great Leap Forward and corroborate some of these findings. I grew up during the Great Leap Forward, and I have done rural research in China during the 1980s, 1990s, and 2000s. In 1958, the year when the commune was formed, we had the greatest summer and fall harvests in recorded history. People ate so well. That was true not only in my hometown in Shandong Province, but also in Henan and Anhui Provinces, where I studied.

Peasants in Henan and Anhui told me that they were able to eat very well, better than ever before, in 1958. This indicates that the forming of the peopleʼs communes and the Great Leap Forward only improved peopleʼs livelihoods in 1958. In 1959, my hometown suffered a summer flood without precedent in the last hundred years. I still remember that my mother and my aunt took me to the fields in those days. After several days of rain, the ditches beside the roads were filled with water. All of our fields were water-logged. My mother pulled out some of the sweet potato plants which were planted about a month earlier, and saw no growth. I heard my mother tell my aunts that we were going to have a hard time that year. In the spring of 1960, my hometown had a very bad drought. On top of that, we had another very bad summer flood. The crops failed again. Quite a few people in my village migrated to the Northeast with their families, and quite a few young people left the village to look for opportunities elsewhere. Thus our region was hit very badly by natural disasters for two consecutive years.

The Shandong Provincial Government, as well as the Central Government sent teams of investigators to our county to find out what was happening with the local leadership. The County Party Secretary Xu Hua and the Head of County Government Office Wang Changsheng were both dismissed by the upper government because of the grain shortage in the county. But during the two years of natural disasters, we got relief grains from the Central government, the provincial government, Qingdao City, Shanghai City and many other regions. I still remember the two dried wild vegetables shipped to us from Yunan Province: one with golden hair which we called ginmaogou (golden-haired dog), because it was shaped like a tiny dog, and another which was brown and shaped like a pig liver, called yezhugan (wild pig liver) by the local people. For many years, my parents kept a piece of each of these wild vegetables as souvenirs of the two hardship years, and also to remember the help we got from other people in China.

People in Baoding Prefecture, Hebei Province, published a collection of memoirs titled During the Difficult Days, which describes how, amid the severe grain shortages, people worked together helping each other, and how the local government leaders shared the hardship of the common people. When I read the book, I was reminded that the reason very few people starved amid the natural disasters of the Great Leap Forward was because of the spirit of socialism. Whenever and wherever one place had difficulties, people from other places helped. I remember many peasants told me that if it were not for the help of the Peopleʼs Government, many people would have starved amid disasters like the one in 1960.

By contrast, in Northern Henan Province (where the grain shortage during the Great Leap Forward was supposed to have been severe), five million people had starved to death in 1942. The Government at that time had done nothing to help the local people. In the 1990s, I accompanied Ralph Thaxton, my advisor in graduate school, to study (on a Guggenheim scholarship) the regionʼs famine. When he said that he had come to study the famine, peasants thought that he was studying the famine of 1942-3. During that 1942-43 famine, not only did five million people starve, but many people had to sell their land, their houses, and their children, before fleeing their hometowns. The local government and national government did nothing to help the people there.

“But nothing like that took place during the grain shortage of the Great Leap Forward. Amid the grain shortages, my maternal grandfather died of a disease. My paternal grandfather also died that year at the same age. They were both in their sixties. (Chinese peopleʼs life expectancy was less than 60 years then.) They had been sick for a long time. The grain shortage might have weakened them, and they may have eventually succumbed to disease. But I think there is a significant difference between that and saying that they starved to death. Only people with ulterior motives would blame principally the Great Leap Forward, or the public dining halls, or the peopleʼs communes, for the grain shortage we faced during these three years amid severe natural disasters. The grain shortage was caused first and foremost by natural disasters.

“Like my mother, my father never went to school when he was young. He started working as an apprentice when he was 13 years old. When the Communist Party came to power, the Government set up night schools for workers who wanted to learn how to read and write. He learned how to read and write at the night school. Later, the factory sent him to get training from Shandong Industrial College in Jinan. Because of the training he got, he and a few others were put in charge of building a steel factory in my county (Jimo County) during the Great Leap Forward.

“The factory was set up in 1958, and in a very short time span, the factory recruited 2000 workers from the rural areas in the county, mostly young men in their late teens and early twenties. For three months, my father interviewed and recruited these workers. Two years later, faced with economic difficulties caused by the natural disasters and the souring of relations with the Soviet Union, the Government decided to close down the steel factory.

“The 2,000 young workers my father recruited and trained were all asked to go back to their original villages. Mr. Sun Jingxian (who, as mentioned earlier, wrote a refutation of the inflated estimates of deaths during 1959-61) argues in his article that the alleged population loss (on paper) during the Great Leap Forward was partly caused by the fact that a large number of people moved in this period. First they moved as a result of industrialization at the beginning of the Great Leap Forward; and later they moved because the closing down of these factories led to workers being sent back. What happened in my fatherʼs factory could support Mr. Sunʼs argument. An important point I want to make here is that these rural youth received important training during the two years working in my fatherʼs factory. Later, when the economic

“Let me tell you how I found out if people starved to death during the Great Leap Forward. I went to the places where the famine was supposed to have been very bad. I talked with all the old people in the village and asked them how many people starved to death in their village. In one village, where there were 2,000 people during the Great Leap Forward, some people said that about 100 people died and some people said that 50 people died. I then asked these same people to tell me the names of these people who died and how old these people were when they died. It turned out that in this village of 2,000 people, these old people could only name 15 people collectively, and those who died were all over 60 years old (when life expectancy then was less than 60 years), except one man who was in his forties. But this man was a mentally handicapped orphan, who lived alone, could not care for himself and had nobody else to help him. And sadly, he died prematurely. In the last 30- odd years, one heard many stories about starvation and famine during the Great Leap Forward. But most of the stories could not stand close scrutiny and examination.

“Frank Dikötter also claimed that he had documents to prove that Chairman Mao was willing to starve half of the Chinese people to death so that the other half could have more than enough to eat. My friend challenged him to produce the document. Dikötter said that he had an agreement with the source of the document not to show the document to anybody. But under pressure, he agreed to let my friend in Hong Kong to see the document. It turned out that the document was a speech by Chairman Mao at a meeting discussing the investment planned in industrial projects. China had planned to launch over one thousand industrial projects in 1960. Chairman Mao said in the speech that he would rather cut the number of investment projects by half so the Government would have enough money to quickly complete the remaining half of the projects. But Dikötter interpreted Chairman Maoʼs words to mean that he was willing to starve half the Chinese population in order that the other half have more than enough to eat. Dikötter claimed that he was a China specialist. I wonder if he was able to read and understand Chinese text, or he was in fact a linguistic genius who could read into the Chinese language something that was not there in the first place.

“I had a debate with one of my professors when he said in class that 40 million Chinese peasants starved to death in the Great Leap Forward. I asked him why the Chinese peasants, allegedly facing certain starvation, did not rebel during the Great Leap Forward. Chinese peasants had rebelled so many times in history when there was a famine. He said that Chinese people were too starved to rebel then. I said that apparently the Chinese peasants were not too starved to build thousands of reservoirs during the Great Leap Forward. He then said that the Chinese peasants did not have weapons during the Great Leap Forward with which to rebel. I said that throughout Chinese history, the Chinese ruling classes never allowed Chinese peasants to have weapons. But that did not prevent Chinese peasants from rebellion with sticks and shovels, again and again. In our Chinese language, we have a proverb, “jie gan erqi” (pick up a bamboo stick and rebel), to describe one of the earliest rebellions in the Qin Dynasty. I also told my professor that the Mao era was an exception in Chinese history: under Chairman Mao, the Chinese State did allow the Chinese people, both peasants and workers, to have weapons. During the Great Leap Forward, the Chinese government called upon the Chinese people to organize several hundred divisions of militia.

“Peasants worked in the fields with rifles stacked beside them. This summer I interviewed the former village party secretary of Yakoucun Village in Guangzhou. He told me that during the Great Leap Forward and Cultural Revolution years, his villageʼs militia had more than 200 rifles, machines guns, and even anti-air artilleries. The village militia was trained regularly. The weapons were taken away from the village when Deng Xiaoping started the rural reforms in 1982. It would be much easier for peasants to rebel, if they wanted to, with such easy access to weapons. But there was not even a protest, let alone a rebellion, during the Great Leap Forward”.

Incidentally, the book purporting to have ‘discovered’ a famine that had escaped everyone’s attention at the time, was bogus from start to finish. Including the cover, which featured an image from Life, shot in 1942 because, says the author, “I couldn’t find a photo of a famine from 1959-61”

  5. What about their parents who made the move to get away from black crime? In many cases, they dare not speak the truth that they know to their own children because people are naturally status-conscious conformists, and it’s become ‘unacceptable’ for ‘good people’ to speak frankly about the race problem, especially pertaining to blacks.

Maybe they’re worried about being “informed on” by their children. “Take flight, sure, safety comes first. But don’t utter a peep about why, not even to your children.” These days, that wouldn’t shock me at all. More informally, maybe they’re just worried that their kids might blab about what daddy thinks about blacks to their kids’ friends, who tell their parents about it and daddy’s friends start thinking of him as a ‘racist.’ (Then again, who needs friends like that. For the longest time, most of my friends were very ‘racist’ during a period when I considered myself staunchly ‘anti-racist,’ but I never would have dreamed of trying to harm their social standing for it. I guess not everybody thinks that way.)

Mao launched the Cultural Revolution to solidify his position and reassert his control over the communist party. Mao’s prestige and influence over the party had diminished after the disastrous Great Leap, and when Khrushchev was ousted in the Soviet Union, Mao began to worry that a similar fate might befall him. The Cultural Revolution conveniently removed Mao’s enemies within the party hierarchy.

The NYTimes news article (see post#3) reported on Mao’s resignation as President/Chairman of China in December 1958. Mao launched his ‘two bombs and one satellite’ program which is equivalent to two Manhattan projects to build China’s first A-bomb and first H-bomb, and one Sputnik project to launch China’s first satellite into space in 1958, the same year he stepped down as President/Chairman of China. After Mao resigned from his position as Head of State, Liu took over and dismantled the Great Leap Forward, not because it caused the fictional ‘Great Chinese Famine’ but because of the Sino-Soviet Split in 1960 after Khrushchev reneged on the 1957 ‘nuke-for-grains’ deal in which China agreed to export surplus grains in exchange for nuclear weapons technology from the USSR. But Liu stopped the exports of grains in 1960, after the withdrawal of all Soviet technical personnel involved in China’s nuclear weapons project that year.

It just so happened that there was a well-documented famine caused by floods and drought in Northern China in 1958 which coincided with the launch of the Great Leap Forward that same year. But that was a localized famine which affected only a few million people. China still had surplus grains which could be exported to the USSR that year but Liu then blamed Mao for not stopping the food exports. That’s why Mao stepped down as Head of State that year. By the next year, China reduced its food exports in 1959 and stopped it completely in 1960. By 1961, Liu had dismantled the Great Leap Forward.

Decades after the fact, Western propagandists took this localized famine in Northern China affecting at most a few million people and then exaggerated the death toll by 100x, assuming the excess deaths caused by this localized famine totaled a few hundreds of thousands in the worst case. To be sure, the higher than normal mortality during the Great Leap Forward numbered in the millions but they were mostly older people who died of disease, poverty and malnutrition not some fictional ‘Great Chinese Famine’ as disproven by the fact that China had surplus food to export to the USSR.

You can blame everything to God, but you can not blame everything one single person, one single tribe. Once you start to blame that in this way, you are actually creating you own Satan/God, this God or that Satan, just the same thing.
With this kind of mindset, you just deserve the God/Satan you create for yourself, this one or that one, you will always have one.

Well Whites can be blamed for cowardice, stupidity, selfish and traitor trash behavior, lack of integrity and principle among other things. Whites have allowed their nations to be taken away without a fight. What Whites have done could arguably go down in history as the greatest example of cowardly and disgusting behavior in history. I can’t think of a topper. Not the East Indians, not the Chinese, not the African, and not the outgunned American Indian who at least fought back against insurmountable odds. Whites will fight like Commanches against other Whites for the benefit of the Jew or Negro, or travel to the Middle East to lose life and limb for muh Jew and muh Israel, killing Aye-rabs who “hate our freedoms”, but they are too chicken shit to take a stand for their own kind against Jewish hatred or Black on White violence.

United, Whites are/were unstoppable. The worst enemy of White people is not the Jew or the Negro, it is the enemy inside the gates that Cicero talks about, in America, the enemy inside the gates is the White Shabbos goy, the washer of black feet, the species commonly known as white traitor trash.

In retrospect, I benefitted a lot from being close to all four of my grandparents, born 1916 – 1920 (and uncles and aunts). That’s how I know that there was a time when the USA wasn’t broken. In a similar vein, I once read about how, during the Dark Ages, European people would see the ruins in Rome and Greece and know that there were better times before, and they had passed. Or people in Pittsburgh in the late 1980s and early 1990s, passing great rusting hulks of dead steel mills that were reminders of better times, before their world declined. Or my son and I watching reruns of “Route 66” or “Bourbon Street Beat.”

Yes, it is demoralizing to dwell on the end of prosperity, but we can’t hide from the truth. And I haven’t hidden anything from my son about the truth.

But, really, we don’t have to look back to the 1950s and 60s to remember an America that wasn’t broken. American life 1981-2001 wasn’t exactly a dark time. But we sure have entered a neo-dark age now. And it’s going to get even darker – literally and figuratively.

No wonder that most immigrants support all these policies and attitudes – in order to survive, they have to be on the side of the aggressor. Otherwise they will be on the side of the victims.

Being an immigrant myself for the larger part of my life it’s clear to me that in the US everything is being done to denigrate and humiliate people like me, to dis-empower them, to make them obedient and ashamed of themselves. What’s interesting is that most Americans accept that. Why don’t you consider immigration?

Mao launched the Cultural Revolution to solidify his position and reassert his control over the communist party.

Sixteen years after the Communists took power, nothing had changed in the lives of the peasants, the people who had fought and won the War.

Dismayed by the indifference of urbanites and officials living privileged lives, Mao initiated the Cultural Revolution to emancipate 400,000,000 voiceless peasants whose social status had not changed in 3,000 years.

He succeeded. He drove inequality to the lowest level ever recorded while growing the economy six percent annually–twice America’s rate–and mechanizing agriculture.

By the end, rural literacy was taken for granted and rural people (no longer ‘peasants’) were as intolerant of oppression and corruption, as vocal about their priorities, as enthusiastic about voting, and as eager to voice complaints as their urban cousins.

For the first time in history they were full citizens who could point to the infrastructure they built, the agricultural advances they had made, and the problems they had solved. Though hundreds of millions of rural people benefited from the Cultural Revolution, many elites felt that, by destroying the traditional hierarchy, Mao had destroyed the culture itself–a charge that resonated with foreign elites. They were wrong.

Though hundreds of millions of rural people benefited from the Cultural Revolution, many elites felt that, by destroying the traditional hierarchy, Mao had destroyed the culture itself–a charge that resonated with foreign elites.

Officials and intellectuals, especially those responsible for running the country, had struggled to maintain their sanity in the midst of an administrative nightmare while many more were subjected to public humiliation or spent years in prison.

A handful, crushed by criticisms they found incomprehensible, committed suicide. Some fled abroad and published semi-fictional books about their sufferings, and few forgave Mao.

A small price to pay for the emancipation of 400,000,000 people.

  17. I have several times suggested that the work of our esteemed colleague Jung-Freud (Jungfrau = virgin?) would benefit by the use of endnotes to corral tangential material. This installment inspires me to suggest as well the use of paragraphs, that is to say, shorter paragraphs. J-F seems to have emerged from 19th century Germany, where paragraphs wound their way over two or more pages.

Apart from English prose custom, I find that in the internet age, Gertrude Stein’s advice, to make each sentence a paragraph, or vice versa, depending on how you look at it, has become newly relevant.

“For example: Stein calls the eighteenth century one of sentences, the nineteenth one of phrases, and the twentieth one of paragraphs. The problem is that “the nineteenth century having lived by phrases really had lost the feeling of sentences.” Solution: “I made my sentences and my paragraphs do the same thing, made them be one and the same thing.”

“Making the twentieth century (the period of paragraphs) and the eighteenth century (the period of sentences) “be one and the same thing,” at least in writing, allows for the “losses” of the nineteenth century to be overcome. ” — Barbara Will, Unlikely Collaboration: Gertrude Stein, Bernard Faÿ, and the Vichy Dilemma (Gender and Culture Series) New York City: Columbia University Press, 2011. IF Hitler hat won, we would be reading the same balanced accounts of his liberation of the German people. Similar accounts were given of Stalin, until he turned on Trotsky and the Jews, whereupon, as you say, a tiny clique of educated malcontents fled into exile and began manufacturing tales of his “terrors.”

China and Russia, having won, maintain control of their own history. Hitler, having lost and, worse, caused some trouble for the Phoenicians, is constantly slandered. (The Phoenicians apply the same double standard with regards to their own history, of course: terrorists become Prime Ministers), Now, the same usual suspects are completing the job by applying the same slander to our own history: first the Confederates, now increasingly, the Founders themselves.

Only the Phoenicians and their (perhaps temporary) allies have Heroes; all others are Monsters.

There is possibly a middle path for Mao. Godfree Roberts mentioned in Unz Review that Mao’s daughter came home from boarding school and ate ravenously. Mao went away and thought deeply. He had encountered reality. She wasn’t starving but was very hungry. Famine commonly follows after an internal war. The great famine is unknown in China. There are no known images of mass starvation. The Chinese peasants were historically accustomed to hunger and deprivation. So this was fairly normal.

Dude, the CIA was all over the place in China spying on Mao’s A-bomb project which the USA was anxious to stop. They even had U2 spy planes to capture photos of the Lop Nur A-bomb test site. And yet don’t tell me the CIA agents on the ground in China failed to notice the ‘worst famine in human history’, with 25 to 40 million dead, in a span of just three years? Did you know that kind of death toll is much worse than China during WWII which had a death toll of 20 million in eight years, half of which were caused by warfare deprivation? Despite that, Mao was somehow able to launch the most ambitious scientific project in Chinese history, the ‘two bombs and one satellite’ project to build China’s first A-bomb and H-bomb and launch China’s first satellite into space?

If what the Western propagandists are saying about Mao decades after the GLF is true, then the CIA would have reported those events to the Western media which would have publicized the ‘worst famine in human history’, complete with photos of the 25 to 40 million dead bodies, strewn all over the streets in China. But nothing of that sort happened: no photos of any dead bodies; no starving people dying in the streets, no intelligence reports about the ‘worst famine in human history’, etc. Instead, the CIA was reporting on the dramatic progress being made by China during the GLF: steel output, railroad length, industrial production, etc. Don’t take my word for it. HK being a British colony became the base of operations for both the CIA and MI6, which smuggled Chinese spies into the PRC, right across the border into Guangdong Province. Then there’s Kinmen Islands which was and still is under the control of the ROC right across from Xiamen. And there’s Tibet which is right across from India where the CIA had a base to arm, train and support Tibetan rebels against China which resulted in the 1959 Tibetan uprising. The CIA also used Indian airfields to fly U2 spy planes into China, as far as Lop Nur. Lastly, the CIA was using US military bases in Japan, Taiwan and South Korea to fly reconnaissance planes into China, which prompted Mao to move heavy industries such as steel mills away from coastal cities near those US military bases. That was the rationale for his GLF push to establish small-scale steel mills in rural areas in inland provinces, same reason behind Chiang’s decision to relocate industries inland during WWII.

One final point, there were literally hundreds of thousands of Soviet advisers, Eastern bloc diplomats, Third World intellectuals, Western communists and Overseas Chinese with ties to the outside world who would have witnessed and documented the alleged ‘Great Chinese Famine’, a catastrophic failure so severe that it would have led to the systemic collapse of the Communist State. But guess what happened? Just the opposite as Mao successfully built China’s first A-bomb while arming Ho Chi-Minh in Vietnam, after defeating India in the 1962 Sino-Indian War.

Yet, China was supposed to have gone through the ‘worst famine in human history’ when — according to Dikötter — everyone was dropping dead like flies and nothing seems to be working. And nobody — including the CIA — noticed anything? Don’t take my word for it. Read the CIA intelligence reports published during that time. The Great Reset is a typical Western monarchical project, the Great Leap was driven by national desperation.

The West consistently rejected Mao’s pleas to bring capitalism to China, and the USSR had withdrawn its technical support.

What was China to do? On the principal that the boldest course is usually the best, Mao proposed to mobilize the entire country to do both, simultaneously.

The fatal flaw of these Western propagandists is their penchant for overdoing their own pseudo-historical narrative to support their political rhetoric, such as their obvious disregard for the geopolitical context of the Great Leap Forward which is the Sino-American Cold War in-between the Korean the Vietnam Wars, with Khrushchev opting for détente with the USA.

Do you know who was most responsible for turning China into the nuclear, space and military power that it is today? None other than Mao Zedong who launched his top-secret ‘two bombs and one satellite’ projects during the Great Leap Forward which was his covert program to build China’s first A-bomb, H-bomb and launch China’s first satellite into space. And before you launch into a tirade by claiming that Mao starved to death 25 to 40 million during the ‘worst famine in human history’ [sic], how is that possible when China was exporting food surplus to the USSR during that time?

Oh, by the way, there were also Americans visiting China at the time to meet with Mao, such as the African American scholar-activist WEB Dubois. Here’s a photo of his trip to Beijing in 1959:

Lastly, how come nobody here has come up with any explanation as to why foreign intelligence agencies such as the CIA, KGB, MI6 never noticed the ‘worst famine in human history’? Hundreds of thousands of Soviet advisers, Western communists, Eastern Bloc diplomats, Third World leaders, etc. would have noticed the ‘worst famine in human history’ too, wouldn’t they? Surely, the NYTimes as the ‘newspaper of record’ would have published photographs depicting the ‘worst famine in human history’ during the Great Leap Forward, wouldn’t they?

There would have been millions of starving people begging for food or else dying in the streets of Chinese cities such as Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou, Chengdu, etc. And yet, nobody noticed anything until the 1980s two decades after the Great Leap Forward when Chinese collaborators under the Dengist Kleptocracy conspired with their Western propagandists to invent the fake ‘worst famine in human history’ in order to demonize Mao and discredit his brand of Communism. That Dengist Era in post-Maoist China coincided with the Reagan/Thatcher Revolution in the West during the 1980s. At the same time that the Ministry of Truth of the so-called ‘Collective West’ began to demonize Mao as the Hitler of Asia, they decided to ‘sanitize’ Hirohito by turning him into the saintly Marine Biologist who did nothing wrong in waging the genocidal wars of imperialist aggression during WWII.

Here’s a transcript of the meeting between Nikita Khrushchev and Mao Zedong on Oct. 2, 1959

    https://digitalarchive.wilsoncenter.org/document/112088.pdf

Mao had a meeting with Khrushchev during the latter’s visit to Beijing in October 1959, after the Tibetan uprising in March of that year. From the transcript of the meeting, it is pretty obvious that Mao wasn’t concerned with promoting economic prosperity during the Great Leap Forward but was obsessed with national security, having to contend with the First and Second Taiwan Straits Crises in 1953 and 1958, respectively. Notice how Mao did not even bother mentioning the Great Leap Forward because he had already stepped down as President/Chairman of China and handed over the position of Head of State to Liu towards the end of 1958. During the last two years of the Great Leap Forward, Mao was no longer running China as its Head of State but was busy running his top-secret ‘two bombs and one satellite’ covert program to build China’s first A-bomb and H-bomb, and to launch China’s first satellite into space.

This historical fact was completely ignored by Western propagandists such as Frank Dikötter who claimed that Mao run the Great Leap Forward for three long years, intentionally starving 45 million people to death. Dikötter completely misread Mao’s notorious ‘backyard furnaces’ which was designed to dupe the Americans into disbelief that China would be able to build the A-bomb given its medieval backwardness. What Dikötter failed to realize is that Mao launched the Great Leap Forward in 1958 as a way to cover-up his top-secret ‘two bombs and one satellite’ covert program which was launched that same year to ensure China’s national security by building nuclear weapons and ballistic missiles. That was Mao’s obsession all along, not economic prosperity which was the publicly announced goal of the Great Leap Forward. Even something as innocuous as promoting the establishment of small-scale steel mills in rural areas in the inland provinces had national security as its rationale because China’s steel mills were heavily concentrated in the Northeast which is vulnerable to air strikes from US military bases in East Asia. That was the same rationale which spurred Chiang to relocate China’s industries to the Southwest during WWII.

Dikötter is better off trying his luck as a novelist instead of working as a historian because his works on Mao’s Great Leap Forward sound like a badly-written novel of historical fiction turned horror story.

Correction: the above sentence should be rewritten as follows:

“Dikötter completely misread Mao’s notorious ‘backyard furnaces’ which was intended to dupe the Americans into disbelief that China would be able to build the A-bomb given its medieval backwardness.”

By promoting medieval ‘backyard furnaces’ early on during the first year of the Great Leap Forward, Mao exploited one of the characteristic features of Western culture — Orientalism — which constantly belittles the scientific abilities and technological capabilities of Asian Civilizations. You see that behavior called ‘Western Orientalism’ all the time right here on UNZ. Just imagine the reaction of the Yanks in the CIA HQ in Langley, Virginia: “No way those backward Commie Chinks would get the A-bomb with those medieval backyard furnaces!”

Westerners like Dikötter fell for the same Orientalist trap laid down by Mao whose intent was to dupe the Americans by exploiting their Western Orientalist attitudes towards China. That is exactly the same Western Orientalist mindset which prompted Dikötter to write disparaging remarks about the ‘backyard furnaces’ in his book excoriating Mao’s Great Leap Forward: “How can those backward medieval ‘backyard furnaces’ represent a Great Leap Forward?” But the Great Leap Forward was all a ruse, a cover, a facade to hide Mao’s top-secret ‘two bombs and one satellite’ covert program which did succeed spectacularly by building China’s first A-bomb which was detonated in Lop Nur in 1964. That was followed by the test flight of China’s first domestically-built jet fighter J-7 in 1966, detonation of its first H-bomb in 1967, launch of its first satellite in 1970, and test launch of its first ICBM DF-5 in 1971. By 1972, China was on its way to becoming a nuclear power in its own right. That same year saw Nixon travel to China to meet Mao in Beijing.

Under Mao, China did in fact make a Great Leap Forward.

With all due respect, Mr. Ron Unz, I appreciate your taking the time to respond to my post.

Since Xi’s accession to power in 2012, the Chinese government has disclaimed the old narrative of the ‘Great Chinese Famine’ by describing the Great Leap Forward as the three-year period of ‘Great Difficulties’. I have to tell you that the Chinese Nationalists of the Xi era are hostile to the Chinese Liberals of the Dengist era who are now viewed as too ‘open’ to foreign (‘Western’) influences. Whereas in the past Dengist era which spanned the three-decade period from the 1980s to 2o10, Chinese citizens were ‘open’ to any and all criticism of the Maoist era. That is no longer true today due to the massive resurgence of Chinese nationalism in the Xi era which now view any and all criticism of Mao as hostility to China. The Dengist Liberals turned Kleptocrats wanted to excise Mao from China but they have failed as Xi has purged them from power. As a consequence, the anti-Maoist narratives of the Dengist era have been excised from Xi’s China.

    Lol.

Of course, if anyone reads Mao’s own words about economics, it’s immediately obvious what a frightful simpleton he was, and it strikes one as eminently believable that he’d think backyard furnaces could produce useful quantities of steel.

Even something as innocuous as promoting the establishment of small-scale steel mills in rural areas in the inland provinces had national security as its rationale because China’s steel mills were heavily concentrated in the Northeast which is vulnerable to air strikes from US military bases in East Asia.

Even if one grants this, it’s irrelevant because it’s not the rationale of the program that is being criticized but the derisory results it produced. But keep trying.

You can believe whatever nonsense you want. Lots of the crazy commenters on this website claim that the Covid epidemic isn’t real and say that they don’t know anyone who’s died of the disease. When I point to the million-plus “excess deaths” that America experienced during 2020-2021, they say “statistics” don’t prove anything. So you’re just the Chinese analogue of those individuals.

Upthread I provided a Chinese population pyramid showing a gigantic hole around 1959-1961. You still have explained what happened to all those Chinese people. Did they just somehow disappear?

    https://mronline.org/2006/09/21/did-mao-really-kill-millions-in-the-great-leap-forward/

The official position of the Chinese government since Xi’s ascent to power is that the anti-Maoist narratives exaggerating the death toll during the Great Leap Forward is the handiwork of Western forces hostile to China, following Deng’s ascent to power.

Mao’s detractors can only provide their so-called ‘statistical evidence’ to support their estimates of the death toll during the Great Leap Forward. But that is precisely their problem because that is all they have! In contrast, all the material evidence and historical facts contradict their claims of such magnitude of deaths allegedly caused by the ‘worst famine in human history’.

I have provided several such material evidence and historical facts as NYTimes articles, CIA intelligence reports as well as the ‘two bombs and one satellite’ program which do not show the ‘worst famine in human history’. And yet, nobody here has come up with any rebuttals to my counter-arguments.

To paraphrase Mark Twain, the ‘worst famine in human history’ is greatly exaggerated when nobody — not the CIA, KGB, MI6 nor NYTimes — noticed anything during the Great Leap Forward.

It’s reasonable to think the discrepancy would only be larger several decades ago when everything was done manually. China did not publish demographic data every year back then, I don’t think it’d be too difficult to play with a few years worth of discrepancy data to create some intended results.

About the book, I don’t have the resources to check whether the author lie about his sources or not, so I used other similar but un-disputed samples (57 mil ex-PLA, 17mil educated youth, 23 mil unemployment) to test Yang’s claim, and it failed to pass. Look, the Chinese population pyramid I’m displaying is based upon China’s official 1982 Census. If you believe that the PRC’s population census is totally fraudulent, maybe you also think that China’s current population is only 500 million. Here’s the link and the 1982 Chinese population pyramid:

    https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Demographics_of_China#Population_of_China_by_age_and_sex_(demographic_pyramid)

As you can see, in 1982 there was a gigantic hole in the portion of China’s population that would have been born 20-25 years earlier. That’s obviously because of the gigantic famine back then that killed off so many children or newborns and also reduced fertility rates.

Anyone who looks at that population chart can easily tell that something absolutely horrific happened to China’s population around 1959-1961. Personally, I think it was probably Mao’s GLF famine, though you’re free to believe instead that half of China’s babies and infants were teleported away by the Venusians.

I have read parts of Yang’s book but he reads like a Gordon Chang wannabe — lots of noise but not a lot of sense. Here’s another Western critic of the Great Leap Forward death tolls:

    https://mronline.org/2006/09/21/did-mao-really-kill-millions-in-the-great-leap-forward/

Evidence from the Deng Xiaoping regime [Mao] that millions died during the Great Leap Forward is not reliable. Evidence from peasants contradicts the claim that Mao was mainly to blame for the deaths that did occur during the Great Leap Forward period.

Of course, to make such points is to go against the mainstream western view that the Great Leap Forward was a disaster of world historical proportions. But what is the basis for this view? One way those who believe in the “massive death toll” thesis could prove their case would be to find credible qualitative evidence such as eye-witness or documentary evidence. The qualitative evidence that does exist is not convincing however.

Chinese history scholar Carl Riskin believes that a very serious famine took place but states “In general, it appears that the indications of hunger and hardship did not approach the kinds of qualitative evidence of mass famine that have accompanied other famines of comparable (if not equal) scale, including earlier famines in China.” (emphasis in bold added)

As mentioned in the above article, the initial reports about the alleged death tolls during the Great Leap Forward actually came from Chinese officials after Deng’s accession to power. Their intent was to discredit Maoist Communism in order to promote ‘free-market’ Capitalism which benefited the Dengist Kleptocracy that took over China after the death of Mao. That’s why the ‘official statistics’ which came out of Deng’s China since the 1980s are hardly reliable due to their political motivation. Westerners such as Dikötter then took these ‘official statistics’ and inflated them by 2x to 3x in order to demonize Mao further, turning him into the veritable Hitler of Asia.

Mass famines are almost always accompanied by social, cultural, economic and political phenomena such as mass migration, collective hysteria, economic depression and violent uprising which did not occur during the Great Leap Forward. The fact that a well-documented famine did occur does not ipso facto imply the veracity of the alleged death tolls, most likely fabricated by Mao’s detractors after the Dengist Kleptocrats took over China. For those quantitative claims to be credible, they must be supported by qualitative evidence which hardly exists. Don’t take my word for it: do a Google Image Search on ‘Great Leap Forward’ and come back here if you find anything.

    • Replies: @silviosilver
  67. @antibeast

Was the Holodomor accompanied by mass migrations or was that a ‘fake’ famine as well?

And if statistics that make Mao look bad can be dismissed out of hand, can’t statistics that make him look good similarly be dismissed and for similarly ideologically motivated reasons? Doesn’t such simpleminded gamesmanship leave us all worse informed?

Don’t take my word for it: do a Google Image Search on ‘Great Leap Forward’ and come back here if you find anything.

Who exactly was supposed to be taking photographs? The average Chinese peasant of that era had never even seen a camera, much less owned one. CCP authorities with access to cameras were incentivized to conceal the truth, not report it. (As “Tombstone” argues, the truth about the awful conditions eventually reached Mao, but he stuck to his guns, great helmsman that he was.)

I don’t know anything about the Holodomor, so I can’t say anything. With regards to the use (or misuse) of statistics, it goes both ways: China does fudge around with its official statistics but so does anti-China critics. As far as Mao’s response to the well-documented famine which did happen during the Great Leap Forward, he resigned his post and handed over power to Liu by the end of 1958. The pro-Mao accounts blame ‘natural disasters’ for the famine which caused many ‘excess deaths’ but they don’t accept the exaggerated death tolls which anti-Mao critics blame on the economic policies of the Great Leap Forward. The official position of the Chinese government since Xi’s ascent to power is that anti-Mao forces fabricated stats to exaggerate the death tolls during the Great Leap Forward to discredit his reign.

At the end of the day, I am not interested in arguing over the ideology and politics of Maoist Communism. That’s not relevant to the point that I am making. What I am looking for is material evidence to qualitatively support the exaggerated death tolls being claimed by Mao’s detractors which they don’t have.

To use an analogy, if someone reported an earthquake which killed 100,000 people in a city, then there would have been material evidence of an earthquake of such severity and death toll of such magnitude. Things like flattened buildings, ruptured streets, fallen trees, dead bodies, etc. would be expected in such an event. But if nobody noticed such things during that time period, then what probably happened was a tremor which must have swayed some buildings and broken some windows and that’s about it.

We could go on and on and argue endlessly over statistics, statistics and d-mn statistics. But they’re man-made whereas material evidence such as photographs are not. That’s the difference between the accounts of the Great Leap Forward and, say, the Bengali Famine.

The great famine narrative has so many holes in it, only people who are determined to defend it would buy it.

My impression is that you’re normally much more reasonable about things, so I’ll make a last effort to summarize my perspective.

    (1) A couple of decades afterward, the PRC government officially declared that 18 million Chinese had died in the famine.

    (2) I read a 600 page book published in 2008 providing massive, detailed evidence of the famine, but persuasively arguing that the true death toll was more like 35+ million. The book was written by a senior PRC journalist and based upon the evidence and analysis provided by numerous leading PRC scholars, former officials, and journalists.

    (3) The official PRC population census data shows a gigantic “hole” exactly corresponding to when the alleged famine occurred. If you believe all the PRC population census figures are fabricated, why would you believe anything else provided by the PRC government?

    (4) As far as I know, the PRC government has never denied the existence of the famine, but merely applied the euphemistic phrase “three difficult years” or that sort of thing. Everyone certainly agrees that those three years were “difficult” ones.

    (5) The only people who have tried to dispute the existence of the famine are totally obscure fringe-activists like a Maoist academic from India.

Here’s a question for you. If the famine didn’t occur and was just a Western/CIA fabrication, why hasn’t the PRC government ever published a detailed report rebutting the famine accusations? Why would the PRC today still be protecting the dishonest propaganda of the CIA? If the PRC government doesn’t deny the existence of the famine, why should anyone else?

Speaking of babies born during the GLF, I found a very interesting number. Here’s the number of birth from 1958-1962.

    1958:18.89 mil
    1959:16.35 mil
    1960:14.02 mil
    1961:9.49 mil
    1962:24.51 mil

Note that there were 24.51 mil in 1962.

It takes 10 months to carry a baby, 24.5 mil babies born in 1962 would mean women were well nourished enough to get pregnant in 1961, even better than in 1957, before the GLF.

Of course that’s not ture. There was tigh ration due to food shortage, that was undisputed. So, I guess the data were likely being shifted around, births in GLF shifted to after GLF.

The Dust Bowl Famine in the USA saw a mass migration from the countryside where the droughts and dust bowls occurred to the cities where the migrants lived in shantytowns called ‘Hoovervilles’. The Irish Potato Famine saw a mass migration of starving people from Ireland, up to one million out of a population of some 8.5 million leaving for foreign countries such the USA. The Swedish Famine also pushed Swedish mass emigration to the USA.

    That’s three Western examples.

In Republican China, there was a mass migration of some 100 million people during the Second Sino-Japanese War, out of which 10 million died of war-induced famine. During the 1943 Bengali Famine, there was a mass migration of starving people from the countryside to Calcutta where some three million died of mass starvation.

    That’s two Asian examples.

There are photos of starving people dying in the streets of Chinese cities during the Second Sino-Japanese War as well as photos of starving people dying in the streets of Calcutta during the 1943 Bengali Famine. The CIA was able to send U-2 spy planes to take photographs of the Lop Nur test site in Xinjiang. Against all odds, some 300,000 rural villagers decided to build a canal by carving out the rocks alongside the Taihang Mountain using hand-tools. Since the completion of Red Flag Canal in 1969, they have never suffered a drought-induced famine ever since. Here’s a video of the 1,500 km long Red Flag Canal:

The Red Flag Canal is a prime example of what actually happened during the Great Leap Forward which saw the mass mobilization of the rural population to strive for self-sufficiency by fostering communal values. Despite the drought-induced famine, the rural villagers not only survived but also thrived by working together towards a shared destiny of common prosperity.

OK, I have a serious question to ask, and this might be the comment stream to answer that questions.

This article assumes that a Jewish coalition is in power (not “if office” but “in power”), and have made an empire of lies. So far, so good.
It’s clear that the New Deal took control of the US, re-purposed the Anglo-Saxons’ “Progressive” movement from the prosperity of society (or Anglo-Saxon/Northern business interests if you want to phrase it that way) to a bureaucratic structure intended to keep the New Deal in power. That is not even a guess — as usual, the Left couldn’t shut up about their absolute dominance. WW II cemented this structure, and it is evident now, some 8 or so decades later, that much of the New Deal propaganda about international affairs really was an empire of lies.
It is also clear that, after WW II, there was a fight within the New Deal coalition (labor unions, Solid South, urban political machines) in which all but the Jewish faction was ejected from dominant positions in government; this was the time when the Solid South became known as bigots, the labor unions lost their previously advancing wages, and non Jewish ethnic groups (Irish, Italian, Polish) lost their influence (strangely enough, Kennedy was actually assassinated and with JFK went Irish influence). 5 decades ago, The Age of Jewish Supremacy, the Dominate phase of the New American Empire, had replaced the Principate of the American Republic.

So: What is the current situation?

    https://www.takimag.com/article/hollywoods-jews-get-their-wandering-papers/
    and
    https://www.takimag.com/article/hollywood-apartheid-is-ready-for-its-close-up/
Summary: Employment of whites in Hollywood’s entertainment companies has been restricted to 30% whites. This includes producers and writers. Jewish people are counted as White (except, presumably, for Ethiopian Jews, but that is not mentioned). This appears to be the end of Jewish power in Hollywood.
Further, the classification of Jews as “Whites” means that, under 1964 Civil Rights Act, they are a suspect group, oppressors rather oppressed. Legally, they can be stripped of assets, prevented from having restricted entrance Jewish synagogues, and excluded from the political process, same as any other White under 1964 CRA as interpreted.

The article’s theme is “Empire of Lies”. OK, that implies truth is important. There has obviously a major change. Does anybody have any idea of what that change is?

From the outside, it appears that the African politicians trained by the Ivy League [1] colleges, and under the general leadership of former President Obama, who is apparently running the White House through proxy, now control the Dominate. The analogy with the Illyrian Emperors is a glaringly obvious precedent. That the change should be hidden in an Empire of Lies almost goes without saying.

Serious question — Anybody know the truth about which faction now controls the Federal Government?

Previous answers amount to reassurance without substance, which is another form of lie. I’d like a bit of hard fact and data.

    Anybody?

  81. I am not a great fan of Mao, but his power was not essentially built on a card-castle of lies, far from it. It was built on brutality and personality cult for a people whose masses admire brutality, never believed in God but always loved religion. It was built on a manipulation of discourse not very different from that of protestant ethics, to use an expression which was often used by travellers as a point of comparison. Speaking of the Great Leap Forward, Mao admitted that the operation though well-intended had turned out into a people-crushing military defeat and he claimed full responsibility for it, resulting in his forced holiday in favour of Liu Shaoqi. That regime like absolutely all those China has known was characterized by ritual hypocrisy, which presupposes that the people consent that they are living mentally in a virtual world, and face-saving. Maoism rather compares with what Americans experience when they deal with Evangelical preachers, not politicians. Contrary to politicians and secular people, preachers don’t lie, they are generally very clear about the Zionist project they promote.

America on the other hand is based on a lie right from the start. It presents it self to the world as a country born out of a common man’s revolution against an abusive empire. The thing is that the so-called revolution was the will and work of a well-connected privileged elite vying for far more of the same privileges against the interests of the local people whose working majority was just uninterested at best for the most part. America had enjoyed up to then a state where there were no local aristocrats entitled to the commoners’ plus value, and the aim of that revolution was to set up at last such a local aristocratic class : it pleased most the French nobility, which was of a much more abusive kind, and especially that fraction of it that was influenced most by the doctrines of Enlightenment, which were the most anti-humanistic thinkers ever. Their only reproach against traditional nobility is that because of the pernicious influence of Christianity it has ceased to be based on real genetic superiority and nature-given right to use unenlightened people as mere tools. The flag of the future American Republic, the Stars and Stripes, was for about 13 years identical to that of the East India Company, which also enjoyed near absolute independence from the British institutions.

I don’t know enough secret information to answer your question. Perhaps the US and some fraction of CPC both want to discredit Mao, for different reason. There’s always interal power struggle in politics.

Are you seriously arguing that sixty years after the GLF famine, the PRC government is still trying to pretend that it happened when it was all just a total CIA hoax? Isn’t that notion similar to those crazy commenters on this website who claim that China is secretly under the control of the Rothschilds or the World Economic Forum?

I get the impression that you’re a relatively young person who can’t imagine just how poor China was 60-70 years ago. The notion that rural Chinese had access to cameras is just absurd. Presumably, in another decade or two, people will claim that the famine couldn’t possibly have happened because they can’t find any smartphone video interviews of starving peasants up on Youtube.

Finally, although the 1962 jump in the birth rate seems a little surprising, it’s certainly possible. The famine was ending in many parts of China during 1961, so that provided more than a year for an increase in births. I wouldn’t be surprised if many families that had lost several babies or infants to starvation during 1958-1961 were especially eager to have another child in order to start making up the difference. Claiming that the official PRC population figures are entirely fraudulent requires much stronger evidence.

There were cameras in rural China at that time because there were graduation photos of rural schools. Plenty of them on Chinese Internet.

If there was a famine, women would not get pregnant. Because mal-nourished women don’t menstruate. Women don’t menstruate don’t get pregnant. This is common knowledge.

And no, 1961 wasn’t better than the previous years, it was the worst. Domestic grain production dropped 10kg per capita, from 217kg in 1960 to 207.3kg in 1961. China had to imported 4.4mil tons of grain to fill the gap. But 4.4mil tons was just 7.3kg per capita. So 1961 wasn’t better.

I do not know. Whether culturally or geographically, I live too far from the federal halls of power to say. Do you know?

Your comment promotes a novel paradigm: Obama and the negroes in charge! To reply with substance, one would have to observe a while to see how well experience and events fit the paradigm.

The obvious reason to doubt the paradigm is that the negroes one actually meets are just too dimwitted—including Ivy League negroes, relatively speaking. Some uncannily mimic intelligent behavior, but after spending an hour with them, one realizes that mimicry is usually all it is.

But heck, I have known one or two genuinely smart blacks—hardly brilliant, but smart. Maybe it doesn’t take very many of those to run the Empire. It’s conceivable.

The analogy with the Illyrian Emperors is a glaringly obvious precedent.

Diocletian as a negro? It is hard to imagine, I admit; yet perhaps my imagination is merely lacking. Today’s Illyrians seem about as little like negroes as it is possible to be, at any rate.

The obvious reason to doubt the paradigm is that the negroes one actually meets are just too dimwitted—including Ivy League negroes, relatively speaking.

    Good point. Two counters:
    a) The Black leadership in question is 2nd generation African. Historically, 2nd generation immigrants have tried to make careers in politics, using their co-ethnics as their primary voting block. [1]
This appears to be happening again. The American Blacks have done poorly in leadership positions. The BLM leader who bought BLM leadership its very own mansion, apparently from small contributions, is an example. Black impulsiveness and time preference combine with a much smaller pool of smart people to produce a small leadership pool, which tends to be realistic enough to be rejected by the Left, hence the majority of the American Black population.
However: Former President Obama is not an American Black. Genetically, he is half Kenyan, and he was in any case not raised in the US. I propose that second generation Black African immigrants, the same ones that now dominate the Ivy League universities [2], form the leadership of American Blacks. Remember that well to do Black African immigrants to the US come from Black Rule countries, and are actually experienced in real politics in real countries. They would be able to give their children (2nd generation immigrants) the attitudes needed to be successful in practical politics, or at least practical African politics. Let us not forget that African politics, as illustrated by my reference to Mobutu’s career [3], has been highly successful at pushing White populations out of politics. It is at least plausible that the 2nd generation immigrants would be able to oust the Jewish coalition from leadership of American Blacks, and the Hollywood reorganization suggest that the Jewish coalition has been so ousted, and further that the loss of at least half of the effective Jewish coalition physical agents and the classification of Jews as Whites in Civil Rights cases, has apparently lost the Jewish coalition its 4-5 decade long0 dominance.
Note also that almost the entire Black middle class is employed by the government. Blacks in the Federal Bureaucracy are still unquestioned power holders, immune to criticism or discipline. I would suspect, but can’t show, that 2nd generation Black Africans are a significant part of the Executive Branch’s management, acting as informal leadership to the American Black element of the Executive Branch.
President Biden bloated his staff originally [4], and has since trimmed it down [5]. From another source, it seems that the departing staffers are making the usual Black excuses — no guidance, no coaching, no formal program, too much work, which suggests that American Black hires were unable to do useful work. I would suspect that the retained staff is heavily 2nd generation African immigrant.

    b) Consider that former President Obama and the White House staff treats Pres. Biden as subordinate to former President Obama:
    i) Obama ridiculing Biden and then praising White House staff for doing all the substantive work, as if they were Obama’s staff. Note that Biden, in his 70s, stood up applauding in Obama’s background for the entire speech, as a subordinate would.

ii) White house staff and event attendees treating President Biden as invisible as Biden’s own White House reception. Note that Biden treats himself as a low status attendee, and does not assert any authority over anybody, not even his Marine guards and security element — Neither does he simply end the event early. President Biden is clearly not in charge.

    c) Why is this important?
In video [3], at 23:18, Mobutu starts to describe the African institution of the Chief. His description implies that African Chiefs rule by destruction — they destroy anything they do not understand and also anything they do not control. Note how well this fits the Biden Administration’s policies — most obviously, its energy policy, but also its Ukraine policy.

    ILLERIAN EMPERORS [6]

They weren’t Black, but they weren’t Roman either. Briefly, by the mid AD 200s the Roman Empire was in the “crisis of the third century”, which threatened the Empire’s existence and eventually called for a complete Imperial reorganization. Anyway, things got so bad that a group of foreigners, soldiers of field proven ability to win, were accepted by Rome as Emperors out of sheer desperation. This marked the end of the Principate (a fiction that “the emperor is the first among equals”) and the start of the Dominanate (“the Emperor is the First, and not among equals, either”), and was also the end of choosing only Emperors who could claim Roman ancestry.
The analogy is that the US, at present, appears to be ruled by a 2nd generation African immigrant who, whatever his faults, isn’t senile, or a senile drunk as are his European descended White contemporaries. Moreover, the US (or at least the Federal Agencies) have been ruled by a 2nd generation African immigrant since perhaps 2013, his first term having been used in consolidating his rule, just as Rome was ruled by a succession of Illyrian tribesmen.

I would not consider the statistics during that time to be accurate considering the incentives for party cadres to understate their numbers in order to hoard a higher proportion of the local food production. Note also that Liu stopped exporting surplus food to the USSR in 1960 and dismantled the agricultural collectives of the Great Leap Forward in 1961. From 1962 onwards, the full output of their local production now went into Town and Village Enterprises (TVE) instead of State-owned agricultural collectives. That’s when reported numbers of food production started rising again.

In any case, even if the figure was true, 217kg per capita of 1960 and 1961 wouldn’t lead to 1 in 15 people starved to death…

India had a “record breaking” grain production of 305mil ton last year. 305mil ton for 1.4 bil people is 217kg per capita. Although India rank pretty bad on the world hungry index, but I haven’t heard 1 in 15 Indians starved to death.

Agree. If India is used as the reference point, then China comes out ahead during the entire 27-year period of Mao’s rule, including the worst years of the Great Leap Forward. This fact is even admitted by Indian economist Amartya Sen who is an expert in famines but no fan of Communist China. And yet, nobody has claimed that the Nehru-Gandhi rule of ‘Democratic India’ saw the ‘worst famines in human history’ with 1 in 15 Indians starving to death.

Well, V. K. Oberland, I do not like to admit it, but the overturning of Roe vs. Wade with a further promise (by Justice Thomas) to overturn marriage between all but XX/XY pairs of humans, and then, perhaps, to permit State bans on contraceptives [1], has me a bit shaken up.
Taken together, these Supreme Court actions could give the US a functional society again [2]. This is as contrary to Jewish policy since WW II as was classification of Jews as White (hence oppressors) was contrary to Jewish policy dating at least back to the 1964 Civil Rights Act. Further, the three changes, taken together, appear to be contrary to strongly held Republican and Democratic elite policy since about 1970.

How could this happen? How is it organizationally possible that the Supreme Court, with no obvious public support, could suddenly change basic US law of some 5 decades’ standing (stare decisis be damned), that law being Roe vs. Wade, and changed by a 6-3 majority at that? And for that matter, why is Justice Thomas the spokesman for the package of changes?

Justice Thomas’ leadership suggests, of course, that the Black coalition has displaced the Jewish coalition. Further, Black population in the US has been decreasing over the last few decades, and the changes outlined by Justice Thomas would almost certainly increase the Black population. One can see that the African leadership of the American Blacks would favor Justice Thomas’ package.

What has me a bit shaken up is the rapid onset of the change.

The 1/6 committee is acting as a “show trial” of former President Trump and the Republicans. While the trial is supposedly intended for the American population, I would say that it is actually aimed at the Executive Branch agencies, and at the DoD. The intent is not to convince the American public that former President Trump and the Republicans are traitors and would be tyrants, the intent is to convince enough of the Executive Branch agencies’ and at the DoD’s employees that they remain cohesive and at least marginally functional after former President Trump and other Republicans are arrested.

The arrest of former President Trump and other Republicans would destabilize the United States as follows. Every Republican, every resident of a State that cast electors for former President Trump, would suddenly be in danger. The Texas and Florida State governors would find themselves in a precarious condition, the more so if former President Trump or other Republicans sought asylum there.

The US domestic troubles would be against a background of international troubles, as the Western Europeans / Germans made their peace with Russia and the US Dollar lost its reserve status. US domestic troubles would do nothing to relieve the world wide famine that appears likely. Lack of an international reserve currency and US inability to protect the world wide shipping lanes would produce another 2008 type lockup of international trade, worsening the famine.

It is possible that the existing Federal bureaucracy would find itself unable to meet promised cash payments to constituents and vendors, and even to Federal employees. That would greatly intensify other civil disagreements outlined above.

The current situation seems consistent with an inexperienced and heavy handed Black African leadership of the Black coalition implementing changes favored by both the African and the American Christian Black coalition members. If this is so, then it seems possible that the US will destabilized, quite possibly by the end of 2022. This has not been even remotely possible before in US history.

Ironic that Justice Thomas’s program, which is needed to give return to the US a stable society, would increase the destabilization effect of the 1/6 committee by splitting the White Left coalition from the Black coalition. Irony is frequent in history, and so are surprises.

Second paper [4] suggests that shotgun marriages are at least as stable as non-shotgun marriages.
Elimination of all but XX/XY marriages would increase the prestige of marriage, and end of Roe vs. Wade plus end of compulsory free sale of contraceptives would increase the number of shotgun weddings. The prestige boost and prospect of shotgun weddings would discourage out of marriage sex and encourage men to provide for children before marriage. The result should be an increase in societal stability.

Another disquieting aspect of the Roe vs. Wade reversal, and of the nullification of the NY firearms case is that the original rulings were shown to utterly wrong to the point of being fraudulent. The Roe vs. Wade “right to privacy” was justified as a “shadow of a penumbra”, which is hot air, not more. Even as a metaphor it fails – penumbras don’t have shadows.
The ruling was accepted because, back from around the 1930s, the era of Boaz’s students Mead and Benedict, the US population really believed that a new form of knowledge, modeled on the physical sciences, would result in much better governance. By the 1950s, the idea of a rational economics that could “prevent the business cycle”, the idea of a scientific proof that all races were identical except for skin color, the idea of the “immense productivity of industrial society”, and the idea of the American government as a “machine that would go of itself” meant that the average citizen, who had a full time job and was not a philosopher, could believe that theoretical constructs like “shadow of a penumbra” or “business cycle stabilization through commanding the heights of business strategy” actually meant something.

Subsequent experience has shown that the “theoretical constructs” were empty of meaning. Like psychiatry, the constructs were a con (and, after 1950, largely a Jewish con, although the construct of corporations as immortal perfection, fated to forever dominate the world was more of an Anglo-Saxon con).

Now we don’t believe the con anymore. The very existence of the superannuated Pelosi and Schumer and the even more superannuated Biden (run by his office staff, whom I think are run by former President Obama as head of the Black coalition) shows that there is no substance – it is all a con, and nothing more. The US is ruled by the descendants of the old late 1800s urban city machines such as Tammany Hall, an ethnic coalition against the Anglo-Saxons that reduced itself to one member (the Jewish coalition) after severe internal fighting during the 1960s, and whose one member was displaced by the Black coalition during the second Obama administration and the first Trump administration.

The Jewish dominated urban political machine that ran the US (sometimes permitting Republican administrations so that appearances and legitimacy may be maintained) has led to the failure of US and allied cities, which did not adapt themselves to current conditions as did Singapore and Hong Kong, it has led to the failure of US business, which was displaced once the US Federal government found it could get all the money it could spend through monetary policy, which amounted to a form of tribute from US allies. It has led to attempted castration of children as street fighters (Antifa, various LGBT etc. groups, intense rioting of the Black coalition on cue from the US politically controlled media) became the controlling force in US politics.
The Black coalition appears to be little better, and that little by the demolition of clearly fraudulent laws. Government NGOs are now largely neutralized by Black and LGBT members that demand management level salaries and control for non-management personnel on the grounds of Critical Race Theory and the idea that all roles are arbitrarily constructed and rewarded by “society”. The Black coalition appears to be even more exploitative than the Jewish coalition, and somewhat more prone to destroy what it neither understands nor controls.

    WHY THIS IS IMPORTANT.

The USSR apparently fell because of economic failure. It was the first demonstration that an industrial country with a stable government and ample resources could simply be unable to house, clothe, and feed itself.
However, industrial failure was not responsible for the end of the USSR’s system. The USSR’s system failed because none of its participants believed that it could be fixed [1,2].

Here’s the point: the fraudulent attacks on Trump, Trump’s persecution as President, the current 1/6 committee meetings, and the Supreme Court overturning of Roe vs. Wade on the grounds that the ruling was simply fraudulent are grounds for believing that the US government was as fundamentally fraudulent since at least the 1970s as the USSR’s government since at least the 1950s (when Stalin’s heavy industry build-up to win WW II became obsolete). The US, for the same reason as the USSR, is at the start of the same process of reappraisal and attempted reform of its basic system of business and government that the USSR entered during Peristroika and Glasnost, 1985-1988. [3] The USSR was dissolved in 1991, six years after the attempted reforms started. Counting Obama’s reign by his “telephone and pen”, by executive order, and Trump’s one man band ad astra per aspera [4] Presidency as attempts at reform, the US has less time left than the probable error.

The part about problems with menstruation fits with the report from Henan which Jasper Becker cites:

“Most of the men had oedema and the women had stopped menstruating.”
    — Jasper Becker, Hungry Ghosts, p. 231.

I’ve cited elsewhere on this website Roderick MacFarquhar’s description of the natural disasters in 1960, but here is one of the earlier reports about that:

    —–
In a broadcast of 29 December 1960, Peking radio declared that during that year China had suffered natural calamities without parallel in the last century. In North China drought had afflicted the countryside throughout the year and had been especially severe in Hopei, Honan, Shantung, and Shansi, where over 66 per cent of the farmland had been stricken. The lower reaches of the Yellow River had almost dried up between March and June so that in places it could be forded on foot. Over large areas the wheat harvest had been ruined and it had been impossible to plant other crops in the sun-baked soil. South China on the other hand had received far too much rain since it had been hit by a series of typhoons, invariably accompanied by torrential and prolonged rain. The coastal provinces of Kwangtung and Fukien were particularly hard hit and much of the rice crop washed away. The north-east had also suffered; at the beginning of August Liaoning Province (in southern Manchuria) had been visited by a typhoon which caused the worst flooding on record and much damage to industrial centers such as Anshan, Fushun, and Mukden, as well as to the country districts. The broadcast added that locust and other insect plagues, together with unseasonable frosts and hailstorms, had caused even further losses of crops. Altogether some 230,000 square miles of cultivated land, more than half of the total cultivated area, had suffered from one natural calamity or another.
    —–
    — The Annual Register of World Events: 1961, p. 354.

It should be obvious that the graph pictured in this thread of the Chinese population reflects a drop in births, not primarily a rise in deaths. When food-shortages of any kind occur, one may expect that the very young will be most vulnerable. But the elderly people will usually make sacrifices so that any rise in deaths among the very young will have a parallel surge among those 50 and over who will try to preserve the youth. This will mean a more symmetric pattern of deaths, with a graph that is made 20 years on showing a sharp abrupt fall in those who will now be 70 or more. The shape of the graph given here, with a slice in the center and then a smooth tail, reflects a sudden disruption in births, rather than a rise in deaths.

Of course, there was a rise in deaths which did occur in the years 1958-61. The most severe spike in deaths happened in 1960 when the natural disasters described above hit. But there was also a rise in deaths in the years 1958-9 over the death rate attained in 1957, although the death rates for 1958-9 and 1961 are well below any prerevolutionary death rates ever attained in China before 1949 (and are even lower than any recorded mortality rate ever achieved by Czarist Russia). Although it’s tedious to always have to repeat what are known facts, but here are the original statistics of mortality rates which the Chinese government published in the Statistical Yearbook of China 1986:

    1949_____20.00
    1950_____18.00
    1951_____17.80
    1952_____17.00
    1953_____14.00
    1954_____13.18
    1955_____12.28
    1956_____11.40
    1957_____10.80
    1958_____11.98
    1959_____14.59
    1960_____25.43
    1961_____14.24
    1962_____10.02

Those figures are published in the Statistical Yearbook of China 1986 and are supposed to give the death rates on a per thousand basis, relative to the midyear population. But everyone agrees that all such numbers are major underestimations. Judith Banister gives her own model of what she thinks the death rates would have been in China’s Changing Population:

    1949_____38
    1950_____35
    1951_____32
    1952_____29
    1953_____25.77
    1954_____24.20
    1955_____22.33
    1956_____20.11
    1957_____18.12
    1958_____20.65
    1959_____22.06
    1960_____44.60
    1961_____23.01
    1962_____14.02

These are surely more realistic numbers than those given in the Statistical Yearbook of China 1986. The death rates for the territory of Czarist Russia which became the USSR after 1921 are given in Frank Lorimer, The Population of the Soviet Union:

    1899_____33.4
    1900_____32.3
    1901_____33.6
    1902_____33.1
    1903_____31.1
    1904_____31.1
    1905_____33.2
    1906_____31.6
    1907_____30.2
    1908_____30.2
    1909_____31.6
    1910_____33.3
    1911_____29.2
    1912_____28.7
    1913_____30.9

It’s obvious from Lorimer’s data that the official Chinese death rates from the Statistical Yearbook are a huge underestimation. They would imply that the death rates in every single year 1949-62 in China were lower than the death rates in every single year in Russia for 1899-1913. No one believes that, although death rates in Czarist Russia were a lot higher than apologists for the White forces like Robert Wilton and Alexander Solzhenitsyn would want people to think. So, Banister’s numbers are more likely.

The claim made in propaganda-tracts like Tombstone that “40 million plus” died from abnormal deaths is arrived by cross-mixing the official data from the Statistical Yearbook for select years with the more realistic estimates given for other years by such authors as Banister. If one assumes that China had attained a mortality rate of something like 10.8 per thousand in 1957, while ignoring that neither China nor Russia had ever had a mortality rate prior to the revolutions, and if one then jumps over to a table like Banister gives where the death rate for 1958 is given as 20.65 (a death rate much lower than anything ever attained in either Russia up to 1913 or China up to 1949), then one can arrive at an inflated number like “40 million.” If one more consistently uses either the Statistical Yearbook consistently from the 10.8 given for 1957 and then on through 1961, or else Banister from the 18.12 given for 1957 and onward, then one arrives at estimates of 16 and 22 million deaths which occur in 1958-61 that are above the alleged death rate for 1957.

Even at that, it’s grossly misleading to cite such numbers without recognizing that the alleged death rate for 1957 (whether one uses the 10.8 or 18.12) is far below any annual mortality rates that had ever been attained in China before the revolution. When the famine of 1936 is usually assigned a death toll of 5 million this is with the assumption that normal annual death tolls in China before the revolution would have been higher than anything ever attained in Czarist Russia up until 1913. In other words, a normal non-famine death rate in China would have been somewhere in the mid-30s. The 5 million death toll ascribed to the 1936 famine, against a Chinese population that was slightly under 458 million, would mean an additional 10.91 deaths added onto such a mid-30s normal death rate. In other words, it would be similar to the death rate in 1960 and much higher than deaths rates in 1958-9, 1961.
