Last week I commented on the huge numbers of Sun People moving, or trying to move, into Ice People territories:
All these population flows—blacks and Muslims into Europe, Central and South Americans into the U.S.A.—are from south to north. The barriers going up—or at least, that we are just now seriously thinking and talking about putting up—in Europe and the U.S.A. are barriers against south-north flows.
I went on to point out that it may not much longer be just the white people of Europe and North America—the West Arctics, if you like—that are being invaded. Our East Arctic relations in South Korea are dealing with a batch of illegal aliens from Yemen.
I got a fair-sized email bag on that. Two listeners pointed out a rather glaring omission that I have to confess to: The Southern Hemisphere.
The main Ice People territories down there are Australia, New Zealand, and the white countries of the southern South American “cone”: —Argentina, Chile, and Uruguay.
These countries, my emailers pointed out, are also getting inflows of Sun People—and the direction of flow down there, of course, is from north to south.
That’s right. My apologies to all of you down below the Equator. We Northern Hemisphere types tend to forget you, slumbering away there under the Southern Cross.
In fairness to myself, I have a better record than most here. I once wrote an entire column about New Zealand, which is one more column than the average American pundit. One of my very first pieces for VDARE.com, back in 2001, concerned Australia. I’ve been promoting Uruguay for years as a promising bolt-hole should things get really nasty up north here.

Argentina likewise, although the issue there is more longstanding. Argentina’s story this past few decades is in fact something of a tragedy.
A hundred years ago Argentina was one of the world’s most attractive, best-developed countries:

Semeria tells how, during the Depression of the 1930s, European immigration into Argentina tailed off, replaced by immigration of Amerindians and Mestizos from further north. A series of really bad governments completed the work of destruction.
By the 1980s the quip among economists was that Argentina was a formerly-developed nation. Today it’s another Brazil, a small white elite living behind high walls while brown and black narco gangs rule the slums.

Reportedly up to 15,000 white South African farmers are planning to move to Russia. Thirty families have already arrived in the Stavropol region of southern Russia.
So that complicates my picture somewhat: Southern Hemisphere Ice People moving into Northern Hemisphere Ice People territory. That’s a loss to the southern half of the Polar Alliance but a gain to the northern half, so I guess a wash, net-net.

Yeah, it’s hot. Here’s a tiny news story that showed up in my July 12 New York Post, about, like that Cole Porter song, about human performance in very hot weather. The precise zone of performance is, however, different in the two cases.
The New York Post story concerns a study of students at Harvard University. The students were divided into two groups and tested for cognitive function—how well they did on basic IQ-type and reaction-time tests—during a heat wave. One group of students had air conditioning, the other didn’t.
Result:
Students who lived without air conditioning answered questions 13 percent more slowly than those who were able to escape the heat.
On those sneaky tests where you have to quickly say what color ink a word is printed in—you know, the word “green” printed in blue ink, and so on—the non-air-conditioned students had reaction times 13.4 percent longer than the cool kids.
Bottom line: Hot weather makes people dumber.
The reason this story got my attention: I have just finished reading Matthew Polly’s very comprehensive biography of the movie actor and martial-arts genius Bruce Lee, with whom I had some very slight personal acquaintance.
Bruce Lee died 45 years ago this coming Friday, aged only 32. (I visited his grave, left, in 2012.) The cause of his death is something of a mystery, and has been endlessly discussed.
Lee was in Hong Kong at the apartment of his mistress, Betty Ting Pei, when he complained of feeling unwell. He had a headache, he said. Betty gave him a mild over-the-counter analgesic pill and he went to lie down. When Betty went to check a couple of hours later, Lee was dead.
As I said, there has been endless speculation about the cause of death. There was an autopsy and a formal inquest, but they didn’t clarify things much.
Well, Matthew Polly, the author of this new biography, has done a very thorough investigation. He’s read the records of that autopsy and that inquest, spoken to some of the principals involved, and studied Bruce Lee’s medical history. His conclusion:
On July 20, 1973, Bruce Lee died from heat stroke. It is the most plausible scientific theory for his death.
Bruce Lee was an Ice Person. By recent ancestry he was five-eighths Han Chinese, one-quarter English(his mother’s mother was an Englishwoman), and one-eighth Dutch-Jewish (his mother’s father’s father was named Mozes Bosman). A hyperactive person, in constant motion, he suffered badly from the heat; and the day of his death was exceptionally hot even for Hong Kong.
Matthew makes the point that death from heat stroke doesn’t get the attention it deserves:
It is the third most common cause of sudden death in sports activities and rises to first during the hottest months of summer. In the United States alone, an average of three high school and college football players die every year of heat stroke.
Executive summary for this segment: Take care, my fellow Ice People! Excessive heat can make you dumber—and may kill you.
That’s not even to mention the thing Ella Fitzgerald was singing about.
Head north, young Ice Person!…or, in the Southern Hemisphere, south.

The Yemeni refugee problem S. Korea is dealing with is trifling compared to what Europe is suffering. But at least the S. Koreans aren’t so cucked, sentimental and denatured that they’ll kick their own citizens out of homes to make room for Muslim refugees. And if the Yemeni Muslims start acting up S. Korea might deal with it more forcefully (like killing or expelling them) than the European cowards whose mission is to show the world that they’re thoroughly de-nazified by letting Africans and Muslims run amok.
Regarding S. Africa, white nations should either adopt liberal refugee policies applicable only for persecuted white S. Africans or invade that nation and wipe out the ANC and it supporters and reimpose white rule. Assistance will be provided as long as S. Africa impose a one child policy on blacks and restrict all immigration to white settlers from throughout the Western world.
If the white S. Africans permit their medical establishments to deliver as many black African babies as possible then they’re on their own because they haven’t learned from history and it will just repeat itself.

I was based for a while in America’s Siberia, AKA Nebraska, and spent some time in the actual Siberia, and I can assure you it gets quite warm in both during the summertime. Chicago in summer is frequently more oppressive than Singapore.
This is gross exaggeration. Argentina is more white than the United States. Vast majority of its population is whites with only small Amerindian admixture. It totally incomparable in racial diversity to Brazil.
Argentine was rich in late XIX and early XX due to being agroexporter. In this matter, Argentina is very similar to New Zealand. The latter as well prospered from agroexport and then suffered the relative decline: GDP per capita of NZ has fallen from 105% of US level in 1900 to 57% in 2000, the level similar to that of Portugal.
This is another reason why, if we stop immigration now and work to dismantle the welfare state, the demographic problem will largely solve itself. The “sun people” do not have the personal habits or fortitude to survive in our climate without massive assistance from us. Can anyone imagine anything more implausible than a horde of workshy, squabbling Somalians surviving on their own in Sweden—in Sweden? Heck, African-Americans won’t even walk around in the springtime without two coats and beanie on.
The welfare state must be liquidated for a whole host of reasons anyway; it’s unaffordable, unsustainable, and it destroys normal social relations. Everywhere I go in my city, I am assaulted by the annoying sounds of Korean being spoken. I know they are better than Haitians, but why can’t I live in peace with my own people of European descent. Koreans are leaving their country in such numbers that it seems that they think that it’s a good place to be from but not to live in. Most expatriate Koreans probably don’t care if Korea is overflowing with Yemenis, Bantus or Hatians!

Japan is the only example of a nationalistic, socialistic, democratic country that is only for the Japanese. Their deficits don’t matter because they are completely independent. Their mixed economy of capitalism and national socialism works perfectly for them, i.e., only the Japanese.

I essentially argued in Mr. Derbyshire’s previous post that China was located too far south to engage in systematic scientific research centuries ago. As he himself said, “Heat makes you dumb.” It’s no accident that we have Newton’s Laws of Motion, and not Hu Jintao’s Laws of Motion. Based on its long history, relative stability, and huge population (400 million already in 1900), back in 1900 China should’ve been at least as rich as (if not richer than) the United States or Britain. But it wasn’t. Even today, as China is desperately playing catchup (and brazenly stealing from the West), its GDP (PPP) per capita roughly corresponds only to the richer countries of North Africa. Clearly something was missing in China’s development.
In terms of latitude, or distance from the equator, much of China corresponds to North Africa. When placed in the same hemisphere, most of China would be located south of Europe. So are we now using the appellation of Ice People with reference to North Africans? I’m quite aware of the arguments that the local climate depends on many factors, and not just latitude, but still the summers in Hong Kong (22°N) and even Shanghai (31°N, same as Jerusalem) are typically very hot and stifling. E.g., Shanghai highs in July and August average 90°F.
The only evidence we have is history. And history tells us that the great scientific discoveries were made between the latitudes of 37°N (Miletus – atomic theory) and 52°N (Copernicus and Newton). The same goes for the Industrial Revolution.
Apart from the occasional inventions, but nothing comparable to the precision of the ancient Greek Antikythera mechanism (at least 30 meshing gears), China did make contributions, but primarily in the area of religion (Taoism and Chan or Zen Buddhism), exploration of the Chi energy (acupuncture, martial arts, Qigong), astrology, feng shui, etc., all of which I claim is typical of peoples living closer to the tropics.
The Buddha gained enlightenment at Bodh Gaya (25°N). The Great Pyramid of Giza is located at 30°N. Jesus of Nazareth preached near Jerusalem (32°N), Muhammad in Mecca (21°N, almost equal to the latitude of Hong Kong). Hence history tells us that peoples living near the Tropic of Cancer tend to develop new religions, systems of astrology, Yoga, non-rational philosophical systems such as Taoism, Advaita Vedanta, and all manners of superstition, but not physics or chemistry (based on the periodic chart and quantum mechanics).
But science which originated farther north was dependent on the rational theology of Thomas Aquinas in which God was regarded not only as the Creator but also a rational Lawgiver (e.g., of the laws of nature). Ultimately, you are either the master of nature (which results in science) or victim of nature (which results in an obsession with fate, luck, and general victimhood and passivity). Oriental philosophies of life, preoccupied as they are with fate and luck – hence Chinese obsession with gambling – produce a passive attitude toward life, which is the opposite of scientific attitude. Science, on the other hand, is based on “disturbing the Universe” (“natura vexata”). In fact, there was fear in the 18th century that perhaps the invention of the lightning rods interfered with Nature too much, and hence went against the will of God.
Christianity will never appeal to more than a very small fraction of the Japanese people because most of them are too smugly perverse for so much moralizing mumbo jumbo.
I’ve found it interesting how the rare references to Christianity that one occasionally may encounter in Japan tend to emphasize the more violent, grotesque, ominous, threatening, or just generally negative/dark aspects of Christianity that are not so popular among present-day Whites, e.g. sin and punishment, absolution of sin in Christ’s blood, the day of reckoning’s being nigh, reconciliation with God, God’s seeing the heart and mind, etc. The few Japanese who have an interest in Christianity seem to have such interest because of an inkling of guilt regarding their own inherent nastiness (i.e. an introverted or self-conscious motive) and not because of a feeling of guilt toward other beings or a desire to help others (i.e. an extraverted or altruistic motive).

I think you have no evidence that the Japanese have undergone such “genetic adaptations,” let alone for that specific reason, and the hypothesis that the high trunk-to-leg length ratio (in colloquial terms, “stockiness,” “squatness”) famously exhibited by Japanese people may be attributed to their ancestors’ adaptation to cold temperatures is just that — a hypothesis. Perhaps their women (or — Heaven forbid! — their men) simply preferred sexual partners who looked good at wrestling over gangly waifs.
As for what evidence concerning the genes of present-day Japanese people does exist, their genes seem to be just what one should expect for a population in their geographical location — intermediate between Koreans and Ainus. The cases are simply not comparable at all when looked at in full daylight, and not just for reasons of scale. I live and work in NYC, so my view might be a little different than people from other parts of the country where there are few Jews. Here in NY the wealthier Jews are secular, their Judaism is more of an ethnic identity than religious. The religious Jews we see here are often poor, live in housing projects and may work in retail, janitorial jobs or security guard positions. The poorer Baptists and Evangelicals are generally from parts of the country hurt most from globalism and the regions they live in are either where many of our manufacturing plants used to be, or rural farm areas, where people generally have less money. And remember, Christianity has a very strong ethos against wealth, the rich man and the camel fitting through the eye of a needle and all that. Judaism celebrates wealth.
Christianity, in and of itself, isn’t a bad thing for any race. A religion that teaches people to be sober, honest and monogamous is good for a society. Consider this: It is believed tht Neolithic Jomon men were primarily of the Y-haplogroup “D.” We observe D haplogroup today at a very high rate in Japan (circa 35%) but a negligible rate in Korea (circa 2%), which, of course, if [1] the Jomon are the primary ancestral group of the Japanese and [2] ‘originated’ in Korea, necessarily implies a near total [male] population replacement in Korea in or after the Bronze Age — some time after 900 BC when Jomon colonization of Japan is said to have begun; perhaps centuries later. Where did the new male lines in Bronze Age Korea come from (“originate”) that replaced the male population of the Korean Peninsula? If they came primarily from present-day China and somewhat from Mongolia (as they may have, if the narrative here proposed is accurate; see also here ), does this somehow undermine the concept of a Korean ethnicity? After all, they…originated in points hundreds, in some cases thousands, of miles west!

Mongolia today is racially different after large scale Chinese and Manchurian migrations. The lowly status of Hazaras in Afghanistan is because of racial, religious and historical reasons. The Hazaras are shia mongoloids in a sunni caucasoid nation. There has NEVER been an Indian fossil earlier than the Holocene found to carry Haplogroup C. On the other hand, Haplogroup C was a DOMINANT haplogroup in regions of Europe over 30,000 years ago, among some of the oldest modern humans known to exist outside Africa.
The authors of the study this picture is taken from were not aware of that. They will now be shifting their models to take in to account the fact that the oldest C is from Europe and that C used to be a dominant European haplogroup, something these authors weren’t aware of.
