And yet ... blacks aren’t the fundamental problem for White Americans. Other groups would still be trying to dilute you away and take your country away from you, even if blacks didn’t exist. Witness the open immigration policies of Europe, Canada, Australia, and New Zealand, in addition of course to those of the United States. Other people are using blacks as tools and other people prevent you from acting to protect yourself from them. I was approached quite often to join assorted cults when I lived in NYC back in the early eighties. EST had died down by then, but new ones were springing up left and right.

One I remember in particular was the cult of “Ramtha the Enlightened One.” It was a woman in her thirties, who claimed that she could summon a 2,000 year old Persian Warrior, who would take over her body, and issue wisdom talks to her/his followers. I had friends working in high paying corporate jobs who believed this woman, and paid good money to be in her cult!

There’s a ton of other examples I could share regarding how fucking crazy New York City was/is.

Anyway… I’m thinking there MUST be a “cult gene” that gives these idiots no choice but to join groups, and/or subjugate their individuality, personal dignity, and ability to reason, to some kind of “hive mind,” no matter how ridiculous. It isn't 'just' your imagination. The progressive ideology of Multiculturalism, in both it's closely paralleling 'right' and 'left' manifestations, does indeed have all the earmarks of being a gigantic cult. (See link below.)

Dr. Robert J. Lifton’s Eight Criteria for Thought Reform (ie mind control, brain washing) included milieu control, mystical manipulation, demand for purity, confession, sacred science, loading the language, etc.

The short video you included, which Woods aptly compared to Jonestown, touches upon the 'loading the language' aspect of cults.

Loading the Language. The group interprets or uses words and phrases in new ways so that often the outside world does not understand. This jargon consists of thought-terminating clichés, which serve to alter members’ thought processes to conform to the group’s way of thinking.

Thought terminating cliches, such as 'racist!', 'racism!', hands up, don't shoot, I can't breathe, Black lives matter, No Justice, No Peace, etc.

Much of the modern understanding of brain washing/mind control methods, used by cults, was learned by studying North Korea's techniques used on US POW's in the early 1950's. The Koreans in turn had been taught by the Red Chinese, who themselves had been taught by the Soviets.

A propensity for that probably is 'in the blood'. People were tribal with chiefs for far longer than they were 'democratic' with 'republics'. That would explain the 'cult of personality' which every now and again pops up with certain personages who appear on the scene. They are the new would be tribal chiefs.

It's probably something we all have got to guard against to varying degrees, or, at the least be aware.

  27. I’m sure I’ll get some hate for this, but I’d just like to give another perspective. I’m right-wing on most issues, but I hate police brutality like all Americans should (I’ve witnessed it too many times to count against fellow whites & of course blacks). I went to the Sunday protest in my city in NC, and I didn’t hear one “kill whitey” etc chant, just lots of anti-cop talk. Black folks were hi-fiving and hugging me and the other whites there, not one act of violence against us. Until the National Guard showed up and let the couple of bat-wielding thugs run past while throwing flash bangs at us peaceful protestors, including dozens of young women and children.
Around 995 out of 1000 protestors were peaceful, the average age of the few car smashers appeared to be around 16. The police and Guard stood by and watched them smash their cars, no tazing, no tear gas, no NOTHING for them. This tells us two things- that the enemy sees good-optics peaceful protests as the real threat, and secondly that by letting troubled youths destroy things they hope to further their “police state is needed” agenda. Stay safe everybody

    • Replies: @Alfa158
    @SOS777

That’s possible, but my reading is that cops are realizing that there is only a downside to reacting forcefully when being recorded. They don’t care what the optics of the protestors look like. As a cop you could have your life destroyed, so let the People have what they are asking for and you will be as passive as possible, until you are eligible for that sweet big city cop pension.
For the most part it seems to have worked for them in this cycle. Sucks for the innocent civilians victimized by the rioters, but cops are not as sympathetic to civilians of any stripe as neoconservatives think they are. They mostly don’t really care if you are wearing a Blue Lives Matter Too cap, you can’t help them, and you’re still a civilian and therefore suspect.

    , @V. Hickel
    @SOS777

I'm a lot less pro-cop then i was before watching the killing of Daniel Shaver video, that I had never even heard about before a couple days ago. That was a display of pure evil by those cops, and I cannot get it out of my mind. They flat out murdered him, and the cop was acquitted and gets a 2500/mo "disability pension".

There’s a real, viable cult angle to all this. It’s reminiscent of the surge of cults in the late 70's-early 80's. I wonder if there if there is such a thing as a "cult gene"?

I was approached quite often to join assorted cults when I lived in NYC back in the early eighties. EST had died down by then, but new ones were springing up left and right.

One I remember in particular was the cult of "Ramtha the Enlightened One." It was a woman in her thirties, who claimed that she could summon a 2,000 year old Persian Warrior, who would take over her body, and issue wisdom talks to her/his followers. I had friends working in high paying corporate jobs who believed this woman, and paid good money to be in her cult!

There’s a ton of other examples I could share regarding how fucking crazy New York City was/is.

Anyway... I’m thinking there MUST be a "cult gene" that gives these idiots no choice but to join groups, and/or subjugate their individuality, personal dignity, and ability to reason, to some kind of "hive mind," no matter how ridiculous. I can’t believe simply that Americans have suddenly gone collectively crazy. There must be some science related to this.

I'm sure I'll get some hate for this, but I'd just like to give another perspective. I'm right-wing on most issues, but I hate police brutality like all Americans should (I've witnessed it too many times to count against fellow whites & of course blacks). I went to the Sunday protest in my city in NC, and I didn't hear one "kill whitey" etc chant, just lots of anti-cop talk.
This tells us two things- that the enemy sees good-optics peaceful protests as the real threat, and secondly that by letting troubled youths destroy things they hope to further their "police state is needed" agenda. Stay safe everybody

    Replies: @Alfa158, @V. Hickel, @Anonymous

It isn’t ‘just’ your imagination. The progressive ideology of Multiculturalism, in both it’s closely paralleling ‘right’ and ‘left’ manifestations, does indeed have all the earmarks of being a gigantic cult. (See link below.)

Dr. Robert J. Lifton’s Eight Criteria for Thought Reform (ie mind control, brain washing) included milieu control, mystical manipulation, demand for purity, confession, sacred science, loading the language, etc.

The short video you included, which Woods aptly compared to Jonestown, touches upon the ‘loading the language’ aspect of cults.

Loading the Language. The group interprets or uses words and phrases in new ways so that often the outside world does not understand. This jargon consists of thought-terminating clichés, which serve to alter members’ thought processes to conform to the group’s way of thinking.

Thought terminating cliches, such as ‘racist!’, ‘racism!’, hands up, don’t shoot, I can’t breathe, Black lives matter, No Justice, No Peace, etc.

Much of the modern understanding of brain washing/mind control methods, used by cults, was learned by studying North Korea’s techniques used on US POW’s in the early 1950’s. The Koreans in turn had been taught by the Red Chinese, who themselves had been taught by the Soviets.

A propensity for that probably is ‘in the blood’. People were tribal with chiefs for far longer than they were ‘democratic’ with ‘republics’. That would explain the ‘cult of personality’ which every now and again pops up with certain personages who appear on the scene. They are the new would be tribal chiefs.

It’s probably something we all have got to guard against to varying degrees, or, at the least be aware.

We are observing Blackout Tuesday, a day of action against racial injustice, and will be dark on our global websites for 24 hours.

For those in the black community, we know you carry an extra burden right now and 23andMe stands in solidarity with you.

Our company is based on the foundation that all of us are linked by a shared thread – DNA – that we are genetically 99.5% the same. We share so much in common, yet black and brown skin means you will disproportionately experience injustices and prejudice that can put lives on completely different trajectories.

I feel awful and overwhelmed by the events going on. Hashtag after hashtag, there is little meaningful change. How can we break the cycle? The world is filled with people who, I believe, genuinely want to create an equitable society but are unsure how to take the first step to make that happen. We all have habits we need to break, biases we need to actively fight and silence we need to end.

As a leader who really cares, I feel the responsibility to not just talk about Diversity, Equity and Inclusion, but to make meaningful changes and contributions through my own actions and how we operate at 23andMe. Our management team, Board and employee base must have greater diversity. I am ashamed to say I do not have a single black employee who is at Director level or above. Our product is euro-centric but must expand to be inclusive and equitable. We absolutely have the potential to be better. Despite our efforts, I have to honestly say that we are also part of the problem.

I’m holding myself accountable. I’m holding 23andMe accountable. And I’m asking that our customers hold us accountable. This will include making sure that we change our hiring practices, that we make sure we give greater promotional opportunities within the company, that we dedicate resources to evolve our product to better represent all communities and that my management team and Board have more inclusive representation.

George Floyd and many others in the black community died an unjust and tragic death. I send my deepest sympathy to the families, friends and communities that are grieving. We regrettably cannot change the past but I can certainly learn from this and will do everything I can to be part of changing the future.

By "nation of 300+ million people," I assume you are alluding to America, is that correct?

If so (and at the risk of sounding presumptuous) I think I can tell you why: because America is a country that exalts the trivial and neglects the essential.

That's not to say that the Americans never do anything important: they do. Rather, it's to claim that important things come out of America almost by accident.

(You will have to decide for yourself whether I am right or not.)

Incidentally, I did get a cheap laugh (to be clear: I am not laughing at you, but at Marx) out of this remark from Marx:

All that work for nothing! All that intellectual capital wasted! It is both hilarious and terribly, terribly depressing to hear Marx admit that, when all was said and done, he was just wasting his time.

After reading that, I think I finally understood the adage: there's no fool like an old fool.

Of course, fool or not, Marx was still a damn sight cleverer than these idiot (or rather, "useful idiot") rioters. I remain unconvinced they have thought things through and, should they succeed in getting the kind of society they seem to want, they are going to end up a damn sight sorrier than Marx ever was.
  54. Unbelievable. Dude in black gets a 50,000 W jolt of reality, and his immediate reaction is to go back to the window, risking blindness and disfigurement, just for one last desperate attempt to convince a handful of violent felons that he is on their side.

Meanwhile, on the ground, one of those guys must have said to the other, “oh man, we really blew it on this one. Turns out those guys were on our side this entire time! We will never win Whitey over by treating our allies like that! Let’s go back and see if we can get his Venmo handle so we can reimburse him for those windows.”

    Right.

He wrote about Marx and Engels' curses at political enemies (=everybody...) a few really insightful pages too in Weißes Album*** (this is a miracle of a book - I can't understand how in a nation of 300+ million people there could be not enough interest and this gem went untranslated.

In this book he quotes the late Marx with the lines: (From memory - I can't look it up, because I just moved) - Forget politics - business is greening. Unfortunately, I'm too old now to make something of this insight.

*** a book designed on the outside just like the Beatles' white album - so - a no to The Beatles.

From the context it is clear: He says that he is tired of his and Friedrich Engels' political (=revolutionary...) mishaps and failures - and he concludes, that he'd be better off switching sides and start a business himself - if only he hadn't arrived at this insight so late in life - big sigh...
Business is greening = business is flourishing!

This tells us two things- that the enemy sees good-optics peaceful protests as the real threat, and secondly that by letting troubled youths destroy things they hope to further their "police state is needed" agenda. Stay safe everybody

What happened in Minneapolis wasn’t police brutality. The police acted reasonably. There was a tragic outcome.

Yeah, this letter is confusing - because it is indeed a thought-experiment, he did switch sides and basically says: we were wrong. Now that it is too late, I must say, founding a business would have been the solution. This is Cusanus' (and Hegel's in a way, too) idea of the coincidentia oppositorum = the common core of contradictive ideas, basically).

This is very much what many of the fifties left-wing radicals and sixties radicals did when they became Neocons.

Michel Foucault followed them in this move away from left-wing radicalism into - by and large basic liberalism in that he started to read- - - Hayek and became very suspicious of the left-wing adoration of the social state and disrespectful views on entrepreneurs.

(A chapter of left-wing politics, that has not yet been written, as far as I know. I know quite a few German one time Maoists, who became successful businessmen. And that is no wonder, given the strict structure of the German Maoist parties like the KBW).

By “nation of 300+ million people,” I assume you are alluding to America, is that correct?

If so (and at the risk of sounding presumptuous) I think I can tell you why: because America is a country that exalts the trivial and neglects the essential.

That’s not to say that the Americans never do anything important: they do. Rather, it’s to claim that important things come out of America almost by accident.

(You will have to decide for yourself whether I am right or not.)

Incidentally, I did get a cheap laugh (to be clear: I am not laughing at you, but at Marx) out of this remark from Marx:

Forget politics – business is greening. Unfortunately, I’m too old now to make something of this insight.
