My favorite commercial is the one with a White dad, black mom, and two Hispanic kids… just completely normal, don’t even think twice about it no time or you’ll be convicted of thought crimes.

On a side note, I now carry around a clown horn, and anytime anyone even slightly notices or mentions how absurd our new reality is, I pull it out and give it a couple of honks and say “welcome to clown world!”… it’s amazing the reactions I get ranging from laughter to anger; comedy is a powerful tool, even more so when you’re mocking ones entire existence.

This WM/BF ad trend must be fairly new, as I haven’t noticed, but also rarely watch commercials: usually at the gym or visiting elderly relatives, which I’ve not done lately.*

I think Big Ad correctly assumes non-elderly WMs don’t watch commercials other than live sports.

A shift I have noticed is WMs under 40 or so, and assimilated non whites too, now are lot more open about spending big money and time on video games and talk about pro sports far less than even a year ago.

I think Steve has it backwards at least according to my admittedly limited TV watching. We turn the TV on at 5:30pm Central to watch the 3 major network news programs, ABC, NBC, and CBS. The ads at this time period mainly promote prescription drugs for horrible diseases (it seems the demographic that mostly watches evening news are elderly) and automobiles. The percentage of blacks in the ads is striking; sometimes only blacks are shown. When blacks and white are shown together it is always a black man with a white woman often blond, never a white man and a black woman. That pairing plays into the universal desire for black guys to have blond wives or the approbation of woke white viewers for that sort of mating. My best guess in reverse engineering the ads is that advertising psychologists’ assumption is that white viewers/customers have overwhelmingly bought into the narrative of diversity, that viewers’ high opinions of themselves for being pro diversity are being stroked by the ideology of those ads. Which makes them want to buy the product more. The advertisers themselves may or may not endorse diversity, but they understand contemporary mass psychology.

The ads I see are a limited subset of TV ads surrounding the evening news. Ads during the rest of the day may differ. YMMV

Again, the ads I see don’t seem to be directed towards potential black customers. Blacks don’t watch the TV evening news, nor spend much time telling their private doctors what pricey drugs they want to have prescribed for their diseases.

The reason is, of course, an attempt to ‘dilute’ whiteness. It mostly began with white woman/black man ads. Those worked better inasmuch as women tend to be more easily influenced by programming, and in any case are less visually oriented when it comes to mates, or hook-ups.

White man/black woman ads will not work the same way, because men tend to be visually oriented when it comes to sexual preference, and black women are not attractive to most white men–even the ‘mulatto’ types with the frizzy hair that you see in the ads.

The obvious question is why there aren’t many white man/Asian woman ads? Asian women tend to be attractive to white men.

A lot of people in the online alt-right communities seem to be concerned about the number of blacks on TV.

Early in Covid I finally “cut the cord” by getting rid of the TV part of my Comcast subscription. I switched to paying for Hulu w/o ads tier (the plain service, not the live TV one) and I also watch some Netflix and Amazon Prime.

One effect is that I just see very few ads now and it’s great! I save a good 10 or 14 minutes an hour for amount of content watched and there’s just less stuff bombarding my brain. I’m never going back if I can help it.
I only see ads on YouTube, but those tend to be fairly different.(*)

I’d say that 99% of all ads feature some variation on the following themes:

1. well-dressed, light-skinned blacks in a luxury home with luxury SUVs engaged in white, bourgeois activities like golfing or checking a stock portfolio

3. smart white woman, dumb white man
4. smart black man, dumb white man

Saw one the other day that practically made me scream. It was an ad for a home security system that gave live video feeds of the security cams to your cell phone, and it depicted a bunch of wealthy blacks driving a luxury car and watching on their cell phones as a white guy breaks into their McMansion.

Also a big reason this happens is woke junior staff members at ad firms. Once someone says “we should make the woman a black woman” everyone else is paralyzed to object, including the client. I do wonder how many senior management in firms secretly do not want to feature interracial couples in their ads but find themselves unwilling to potentially incur a woke mob cancellation from their own woke junior staff by objecting. I have seen this at companies I work for, where even something like a website photo shoot is suddenly “diverse” and the top brass didn’t find out until it went live and would rather not say anything.

Mexicans are MIXED but as a group I see far less Mexican women dumping their men for another race. The only reason you don’t see more White male/Black female couples is because MOST White males don’t find the average Black woman attractive at all. Even if you watch little or no TV, you’re still exposed to a range of promo materials as you walk down the street, drive down the road or glance at your junk mail (to say nothing of internet ads and the stock photos companies use on their websites). I don’t recall ever knowing a woman who felt the slightest twinge of guilt about taking another woman’s man. In my experience, they view it as a coup and a tribute to the power of their allure. But maybe this is just a reflecttion of the kind of women I’ve known, though I doubt it.

An interesting observation, but it lines up with the progressive cultural outlook that places black women at the center of the universe culturally and politically. Who watches TV? Every 30 minute program is 14 minutes of program, 16 minutes of ADs and up coming attractions. Every 1 hour program is 28 minutes of program 32 minutes of Ads. I’ve tried to watch Tucker Carlson a few times. Every time I turn the TV to his show it’s either an AD or some black critter yacking away. Who wants that?? Not me.

You’re correct, the ads aren’t aimed at blacks, they’re just trying to push the agenda on Whites. However, lately I’d say there’s as many if not more commercials with White men and black women.

I think the the thing that disturbs me the most about the “woke” culture is how it imitates real life, but there’s nothing truthful about it. There’s a number of shows on the streaming services that strictly cater to the woke feminist mindset. What strikes me about every single one is how distorted their perception of reality really is. The feeling’s mutual. Coates’s popularity gets a boost from the fact that few people study his books or essays from beginning to end. The only commercials I see are on youtube, so I don’t know how they compare with TV. I’m guessing they’re mostly TV ads. I have noticed a conspicuous increase in interracial marriage ads over the last year or so, but I mostly just notice an increase in non-white ads. Obvious black voices narrating ads for investment firms or medical services will be of dubious impact, IMO, as general black incompetence in financial or health matters isn’t something that’s easily glossed over with an ad…yet this is fairly commonplace nowadays. Actually yes I have thought that. Gingers especially sometimes have the complexion of dead fish. Even among whites the notion of female beauty has gone from milky white pallor to having a rich tan. I used to work in advertising and I can tell you you’re correct. As soon as someone brings up diversity, everyone is frozen with fear.

The commercials for one of our clients generally featured three couples socializing. One of the couples would always be black. One time, as our female creative director was reviewing casting tapes, she said she liked two of the black couples best.

I said, “Don’t you think that would make the commercial a little too black?”

It makes me wonder if blacks are among the only ones left going out and spending money now, while everyone else (goodwhites in particular) are doing supposedly responsible things in a crisis: staying home, saving money, deferring big purchases, etc. The black market has always been good for certain segments of the economy that rely on short time horizons and focus on image over substance (like fashion, luxury goods, high-interest credit, etc.).

It’s hard to assess how serious the actual damage wrought on the economy by COVID has been with all the stimulus, the adaptations, and how much less we all go out now, but it seems substantial… I wonder if part of the energy for BLM has been because blacks are the only ones spending money to keep significant parts of corporate America afloat this year, such that their own peculiar ideas have to be sucked up to even more than usual.

I was going to say… What is this ‘television’ of which you speak? It sounds like some vaguely familiar retro-futuristic device. Is it like the video streams I get on various devices? I do see ads on some of them, but nothing like white husbands and black wives in the suburbs. That sounds bizarre and utterly irrelevant to my life. Ah, is ‘television’ perhaps some kind of Disney Epcot attraction? Sounds exotic yet boring, anyway.

In Japan I’ve noticed a growing number of commercials that feature an alert, smart wife who is eye-rollingly tolerant of her goofy, dumbish husband. This is like all the V-neck sweater-wearing cuck husbands in U.S. commercials a few years ago (“Honey, you bought the wrong brand of detergent; go back right now and get the right stuff or I won’t give you a cookie.”).

Also, Japan historically used a lot of attractive white models in their advertising (as well as American movie stars). The white models (who tended to be from Australia or Russia — there seem to be a lot of stunning tall Russian teens!) are starting to be replaced by that sort of ethnically ambiguous dusky, curly haired multirace type of person that populates Lands’ End catalogs and Apple commercials in the U.S.

By the way, an unexpected consequence of the coronavirus in Japan is the surfacing of various facts about foreigners in Japan that had never been widely reported. All of a sudden the “cluster” reports on the news, in addition to “hostest bars,” “family gatherings,” and the like, have a new category, “foreigner communities.” And we are learning about all the foreigners in construction, agriculture, the fishing industry, and regional factories. There are weird companies that “supply” these workers to some industries, and not only is Covid becoming an issue, but it’s coming out that these companies handle worker salaries and don’t give them as much money as they are supposed to (which I actually couldn’t care less about).

One of the very few positives resulting from the 2020 COVID-19 lockdowns has been disruption in the local “book club.” Visiting friends, I’d have to feign interest in their choice of titles. Coffee table hagiographies and autoblographies of the Obamas, Clintons, that ruling class, along with the odd characters plucked from obscurity to demonstrate triumph over adversities imagined.

Now these types are going to be back in power. They’re so clueless, and don’t know that most Russians despise their ignorance and lack of understanding. Who will be the next ambassador to Russia? One of McFaul’s pals?

I thought I was the only one that had noticed the ever increasing diversity in today’s commercials! Lol! If you were a foreigner just visiting this country and you had to judge it based upon what was reflected in commercials, then you would undoubtedly believe that America is about 60% black, since seemingly every commercial has a black and/or mixed race person in it. It almost seems as if it is a stone cold requirement that a black person be cast in every commercial these days. Amazing.
