Police officers, community members wash the feet of faith leaders in Cary

During Saturday afternoon's Unity Walk in Cary, police officers and community members gathered to wash the feet of faith leaders >> https://abc11.tv/2XEb7nh

Posted by ABC11 WTVD on Saturday, June 6, 2020

Yeah, Black Worship is The New Religion.

Cary is in the Research Triangle. It’s home to the SAS statistical software company that was a big deal 30 years ago. The blonde Englishman with the megaphone looks rather like actor Paul Bettany, who tends to get cast as Charles Darwin and Stephen Maturin.

  1. I recall that the final police minister in apartheid South Africa did this to a prominent ANC Christian leader, but this dude was responsible from some pretty nasty stuff, and tried to assassinate said ANC leader in power.

That’s kind of different, you know? This is just virtue signaling mixed with psychosis.

His name was Adriaan Vlok, a member of the Dutch Reformed Church trying to 'atone' for past sins. Meanwhile his people are being butchered.

    It is called 'cucked' Christianity.

The current Jesuit pope has done the same thing unlike his predecessors who repulsed Muslim invaders several times. Fruits of the Second Vatican Council AKA liberalism.

I basically agree with this Jack.

But there's a difference in sensibility between the Christians and Jews.

For the Christians--especially the ones who actually still do some sort of religious observance--it really is old fashioned Christian breast beating. Basically "we have sinned" or "our nation has sinned".

For the Jews its more "those redneck racists with gun racks on their pickups are holding the black man down" (and just itching to come for us). I.e. for Jews it is fundamentally "they have sinned".

In American history, we have had three periods of fervent religious revival: the First Great Awakening of the 1730s and 1750s, the Second Great Awakening of the early 19th century, and the Third Great Awakening of the late 1850s to early 1900s.

Now we are in the Fourth Great Awakening, or perhaps the preferred nomenclature is "Wokening." Blacks will revel in their supreme moral authority and whites will debase themselves and sacrifice their civilization to placate their new gods.

  15. This is so depressing, I can’t even comment. Is this what we have come to?

Agreed. I have a Catholic side of my family, and an evangelical side. I identify more with the Catholics but am generally irreligious. Even though the Catholics are more liberal and often vote Democrat (aside from 2016 and in various local races where democratic candidates are usually black race hustlers), the evangelicals (including people who slapped W stickers on their SUVs back in the 2000s and supported the premise of the Iraq war until Trump called it out in 2015) are becoming way nuttier over BLM mania. More of them changed their profile pictures to black on black out Tuesday (was that some kind of psyop like Kony 2012??), and they won't stop opining on Social Media about how they need to "do better." Especially the younger ones. I don't think it means they'll go so far as to vote for Biden but they are definitely swept up in the goofy revival aspect of all of this.

And yes, almost every Protestant church in New England (don't live there, travel there a lot and this is ALWAYS something I have noticed since about 2017), and a good portion of them in the rest of the country, are now emblazoned with rainbow flags.

Hi Dumbo. We need to include Roman Catholic Zy0nistas in that group as well. A guy I've known 40-years doesn't talk with me anymore...not at all...because he doesn't like what I have to say about Israel. Yes, what the foot-washers in the video are saying and doing seems heretical. They are talking about the foot-washing as a sign of repentance.

It was Jesus who washed his disciples' feet. Since he was without sin, this gesture had nothing to do with repentance. It was a sign of the humility of a true leader who is willing to serve and seek the good of his followers, rather than seeking power over them.

If the black couple are indeed the pastors if there church, it is they who should be on their knees doing the washing.

Instead, the role of leader/savior is being played by the virtue-signaling whites. As usual, the black people are props in this woke white ritual.

I think that religion model is a good one, but there's some interesting features to this iteration. Unlike many revivals, this is one in which the Evil is clearly specified (White Men>All Whites>...?) but the God figure is still not completely worked out. That's why we see the constant scrums in the coalition of the fringes.

This has weird consequences. Because of the vacant slot in the positive valence, there's always hope for anyone not in the defined devil position (straight male WASP) they can at least catch the train one car beyond the caboose. This leads to constant hope and churning and mayhem.

But for the designated devil, especially if one has nothing else going on for one, this can easily lead to scary and violent reactions.

In sum, maybe an alien invasion or asteroid collision wouldn't be the worse thing to happen?

I have been saying for years that Leftism is the New Religion. For Liberals (with both Christian and Jewish ancestry) it replaces the Old Religion. Even Liberal clergy no longer believe all that Jesus/God stuff - Social Justice is much more important to them than Bible thumping. But now they are taking it literally.

The marches are modern day Revival Meetings. The US has been periodically swept by waves of religious ferver/fever going back to colonial days. This is the same, but for the New Religion.

    Replies: @AnotherDad, @Harry Baldwin, @Anon, @kaganovitch, @PaceLaw, @Neoconned

In American history, we have had three periods of fervent religious revival: the First Great Awakening of the 1730s and 1750s, the Second Great Awakening of the early 19th century, and the Third Great Awakening of the late 1850s to early 1900s.

Now we are in the Fourth Great Awakening, or perhaps the preferred nomenclature is “Wokening.” Blacks will revel in their supreme moral authority and whites will debase themselves and sacrifice their civilization to placate their new gods.

If employees are required to donate a part of their salary to Woke/‘anti-racism’ causes, or even if the company provides money on the employee’s behalf- which could become a thing soon- doesn’t that violate a big body of established law? Doesn’t this even skirt the line of mandatory political donations (a big no-no)?

Me: “Black Lives Matter means black people not having to follow laws they don’t like.”

Archbishop Carlo Maria Viganò (Titular Archbishop of Ulpiana and Former Apostolic Nuncio to the United States of America) released a 2.5-page letter to President Trump. Here’s the first part of it:

In recent months we have been witnessing the formation of two opposing sides that I would call Biblical: the children of light and the children of darkness. The children of light constitute the most conspicuous part of humanity, while the children of darkness represent an absolute minority. And yet the former are the object of a sort of discrimination which places them in a situation of moral inferiority with respect to their adversaries, who often hold strategic positions in government, in politics, in the economy and in the media. In an apparently inexplicable way, the good are held hostage by the wicked and by those who help them either out of self-interest or fearfulness.

These two sides, which have a Biblical nature, follow the clear separation between the offspring of the Woman and the offspring of the Serpent. On the one hand there are those who, although they have a thousand defects and weaknesses, are motivated by the desire to do good, to be honest, to raise a family, to engage in work, to give prosperity to their homeland, to help the needy, and, in obedience to the Law of God, to merit the Kingdom of Heaven. On the other hand, there are those who serve themselves, who do not hold any moral principles, who want to demolish the family and the nation, exploit workers to make themselves unduly wealthy, foment internal divisions and wars, and accumulate power and money: for them the fallacious illusion of temporal well-being will one day – if they do not repent – yield to the terrible fate that awaits them, far from God, in eternal damnation…

If the black couple are indeed the pastors if there church, it is they who should be on their knees doing the washing.

Thanks for the actual Christian perspective. There's a real difference between a sympathetic nonbeliever and an actual believer who knows the creed!

I wonder if the people doing the foot-washing have thought that far out, though. I think they probably see it as a humility thing, that they have to abase themselves before people of color. One of the things a good ally isn't supposed to do is center the conversation around them, after all.

    Great analysis (of course), Calvinist.

I would add that Jesus performed the foot-washing in the early evening of the night he handed himself over for execution. I would not be surprised if this was somehow in the background of the thinking of the people displayed here.

It might have the character of a death wish, a prelude to self-destruction. Certainly that would be consistent with so much of what we’ve seen (and not just this week).

For traditional Christians, the blameless Jesus handing himself over to the profane powers of the world is a necessary step on the path to the salvation of mankind, and the redemption of the fallen world. Even so, Jesus pleaded with God to “let this cup pass.” He knew that life was dear.

But for so many people in this sorry world, life is a burden, an imposition. The fact that it’s so easy and comfortable for them only makes them long to abase it, and perhaps to be rid of it. God help us that so many people around the world now feel this way. There will be no stopping them from proceeding down that path.

But for the rest of us, and our progeny, “let this cup pass.”

Agree. Well said, Calvinist. That popped for me too right away.

Jesus washed his disciples' feet. If these black clergy had any self-respect, self-awarness, they would have popped up and said--that's b.s.--we are all sinners, all children of God and are marching together...

But the whole thing is a complete fraud, because the whole "blacks are oppressed" thing is a complete fraud.

Blacks are "at the bottom" in America society, simply because they are on average the least capable (large) group at functioning--producing and behaving--in modern society. And, critically, that they are substantially more criminally violent than other groups, which impedes progress both of individuals and communities and makes non-blacks want to stay the hell away.

More of them changed their profile pictures to black on black out Tuesday (was that some kind of psyop like Kony 2012??), and they won’t stop opining on Social Media about how they need to “do better.” Especially the younger ones. Since it may be hard to pass off Wokeism as a religion in the courts, even though its white adherents show every real sign of cult-like psychosis, couldn’t one at least pass it off as a creed and invoke a deep, well-established body of law against corporations, schools, and various other institutions imposing the Woke creed on its employees? If employees are required to donate a part of their salary to Woke/‘anti-racism’ causes, or even if the company provides money on the employee’s behalf- which could become a thing soon- doesn’t that violate a big body of established law? Doesn’t this even skirt the line of mandatory political donations (a big no-no)?

In any case, politically, I think we need to dust off the term ‘Afrocentric’ (an academic word without any pejorative taint, having long been approvingly used by Black Studies professors and I’d bet Spike Lee, Toni Morrison, maybe even Oprah on at least one occasion) and start politely excising ourselves from the creed of Afrocentricity:

Me: “Black lives matter to you but all lives matter to me. Your beliefs are highly Afrocentric, but mine are not.”
    White Wokester: “That’s not true.”
Me: “Black Lives Matter means black people not having to follow laws they don’t like.”
White Wokester: “That’s the most racist thing I’ve ever heard.”

It was Jesus who washed his disciples' feet. Since he was without sin, this gesture had nothing to do with repentance. It was a sign of the humility of a true leader who is willing to serve and seek the good of his followers, rather than seeking power over them.

For the Christians--especially the ones who actually still do some sort of religious observance--it really is old fashioned Christian breast beating. Basically "we have sinned" or "our nation has sinned".

Not that I think this will solve any political problem betwen the races – for that people would have to reflect coolly and hardly. Which is even less appealing an activity.

If you are a Catholic you can get a plenary indulgence for, among other things:

prayerfully reading the Bible for over half an hour

taking part in the Divine Mercy devotions on Divine Mercy Sunday

praying for the dead in a cemetery on the week following All Souls' Day

This last one is not for you but for the dead though.

I wonder if the people doing the foot-washing have thought that far out, though. I think they probably see it as a humility thing, that they have to abase themselves before people of color. One of the things a good ally isn't supposed to do is center the conversation around them, after all.

what do they feel guilt about though? Is it the awful ways jews have treated non-jews throughout history? We both know the truth about that. Telling the truth about jewish behavior will cost a goyim everything. That’s why we always hear about “russian oligarchs” when there are virtually no actual ethnic russian oligarchs, and those who exist exist mostly because of their friendships with shekelgrubber tribe.

whites controlling most of the farm land in South Africa is an international issue, but jews controlling most of the russian economy was too taboo to even speak of.

  97. Right, who ever heard of “Jewish Guilt”? Jews never look inward. Jews don’t have a holiday where they fast for 24 hours and pray for the atonement of their sins. A prayer where they literally beat their breast and recite their sins. Nothing like that.

Geez Jack. I realize your family history, but you shouldn’t freak when someone mentions the “J” word.

Everyone’s heard about “Jewish guilt”. But–Steve had a “not ethnocentric enough” post on this–we’re talking about individual stuff, living up to expectations of Jewishness and essentially never a criticism of historic or community behavior. (Are Jews organizing to express regret or apologize for their attitudes/behavior toward the Polish or Russian peasantry?)

Mostly what i see–and i can’t believe you read/see an entirely different media–is Jews saying, implying, dramatizing, that those damn racist white gentiles have abused blacks. “Them” not “we”.

And why should they? If you see yourself as a separate people … it follows. Sure some of the absolutely tiny number of Jews in early America traded slaves, a few even had plantations. But the vast number of American Jews–essentially all the Ostjuden, who dominate in America–have ancestors who came later in “great wave” immigration.

The most self-reflective critiques i’ve ever read are of the sort of side of the mouth mumbling that sure some Jewish shopkeeper or landlord didn’t treat his black cliental well. That “we Jews sometimes picked up negative attitudes toward blacks from white Americans … ” weren’t all we could be … but fought for “Civil Rights” and are great allies in overthrowing whitey. And honestly even that mumbling–we should have never succumbed to evil whitey’s prejudices–self-critique is fairly rare.

Mostly what you read/see/hear is “those deplorable goyim!” need to …

    ~~

And note, my comment above wasn’t meant to be any sort of complete sociological analysis.

Another aspect that’s notable is that elite white gentiles–especially the non-religious ones–seem to have Judeocized attitudinally. They are more alienated from their fellow Americans, and feel less (or even zero) national/community responsibility. Their attitude is also not “we” are responsible, but “the deplorables” are responsible and … we know we are good and virtuous people because we are not deplorable. “Fellow travelers”.

Mostly Whites enjoying nature and the company of their peers, family, and/or significant other. Couples out for evening strolls, wildlife observers, photographers, and more.

Agree. Well said, Calvinist. That popped for me too right away.

Jesus washed his disciples’ feet. If these black clergy had any self-respect, self-awarness, they would have popped up and said–that’s b.s.–we are all sinners, all children of God and are marching together…

But the whole thing is a complete fraud, because the whole “blacks are oppressed” thing is a complete fraud.

Blacks are “at the bottom” in America society, simply because they are on average the least capable (large) group at functioning–producing and behaving–in modern society. And, critically, that they are substantially more criminally violent than other groups, which impedes progress both of individuals and communities and makes non-blacks want to stay the hell away.

I think that religion model is a good one, but there’s some interesting features to this iteration. Unlike many revivals, this is one in which the Evil is clearly specified (White Men>All Whites>…?) but the God figure is still not completely worked out. That’s why we see the constant scrums in the coalition of the fringes.

This has weird consequences. Because of the vacant slot in the positive valence, there’s always hope for anyone not in the defined devil position (straight male WASP) they can at least catch the train one car beyond the caboose. This leads to constant hope and churning and mayhem.

But for the designated devil, especially if one has nothing else going on for one, this can easily lead to scary and violent reactions.

In sum, maybe an alien invasion or asteroid collision wouldn’t be the worse thing to happen?

There having been no innovation in pop music for a very long time. I see white people, who should know better, adapting all these black mannerisms. I hear white people who having lived their entire lives in Minnesota peppering their language with Y’all.

But this current situation is beyond anything remotely acceptable. Our lives should be guided by maintaining a state of being that is entirely opposite stereotypical black behavior.

  114. This rankles me. I didn’t care if the idiots were taking a knee, but foot washing? Give me a break.

But I’m writing this to express what I perceive as true,
It is me, more than were I black or a bisexual Jew,
I feel you, and know you’re looking for external belonging,
I just see you won’t find it, despite your throngin’.

My overriding feeling is anger and fear,
It’s caused by the megalomania from you I hear,
You’re angry, and sad and mad and exploding,
I get this, but your path fills me with foreboding.

You say you need to matter and be heard,
You say you’re dying with all that’s occured,
I welcome my feeling of sharing in your pain,
But who is really the cause of this and who needs blame?

Of 12,000+ murder victims in 2019,
Half were black men – this shouldn’t have been,
They are just 1 in 20 of the population,
So this is injustice, regardless the situation.

Of those 6000+ bodies that were male and black,
19 were murdered by police, unarmed and attacked,
While some of those police were of course black too,
It isn’t a stretch that racism contributed to a few.

Yet what of those other 6000+,
Who were mostly murdered by the criminals among us?
Worse, they were mostly killed and cut down,
By people from their own part of town.

The point of the police is to reform crime.
19 is awful, but 6000+ means it is time,
To address the real threat to American Black Lives,
It isn’t the cops, it’s the crime that among you thrives.

The more you care about the 6000+ lost,
The more you should be doing whatever the cost,
If just half of your incredible energy and attention,
Went to helping the police, it’d be an ascension.

BLM activists should join the cops on patrol,
And root out the thugs, so out of town they roll,
This is how you’ll achieve your own peace and cool,
By considered action, you’ll no longer feel a fool.

I’d also suggest, if you’ll feel me one moment,
That your white liberal allies’s need for atonement,
Is actually their problem and to you unrelated,
Their politics are for them, your interests seperated.

You want better jobs, more money, more respect,
Yet every time there’s a wage rise, your allies reflect,
That there’s millions more people throughout the world,
Who’d do your job cheaper so their products are sold.

I promise you absolutely with all of my heart,
If this endless competition were made to unstart,
Your wages would double and your wealth would increase,
You’d even have a much lower price on your rental lease.

But they won’t let this happen, it’s heretical to them,
They’re Woke, not real, with a lizard’s brain stem,
They suck out your emotions, ‘cos they’re dead inside,
And use you, while enjoying the sick ride.

Their new creepo cult comes miles ahead,
Of your actual interests and those of your dead,
If you cross it, no doubt, you’ll quickly see,
That your feelings matter not to their strained piety.

It may feel like relief to be finally heard,
But they hear you not, it is mad and absurd,
Your wages are cut, thugs run your towns,
And your supposed allies are self-righteous clowns.

One last time, I’ll ask you to please reconsider,
Actually giving your outstretched hand to the highest bidder.
Far better to work with the police to save those 6000+,
And send off packing those allies with sticks up their butts.

Then together, we real people can all work,
To make this country into the greatest on earth.
One with high wages and also cheap homes,
And law and order whatever your skin tones.

What got me thinking along theses lines is reports of the “I LUV Woke” essays now required of University of California professor-hopefuls from their tenure committees.

Me: “Hillary Clinton just advocated for this in her recent article in Medium.”
    White Wokester: “Oh?...”
    Me: “No, not really.”

Geez Jack. I realize your family history, but you shouldn't freak when someone mentions the "J" word.

Everyone's heard about "Jewish guilt". But--Steve had a "not ethnocentric enough" post on this--we're talking about individual stuff, living up to expectations of Jewishness and essentially never a criticism of historic or community behavior. (Are Jews organizing to express regret or apologize for their attitudes/behavior toward the Polish or Russian peasantry?)

Mostly what i see--and i can't believe you read/see an entirely different media--is Jews saying, implying, dramatizing, that those damn racist white gentiles have abused blacks. "Them" not "we".

And why should they? If you see yourself as a separate people ... it follows. Sure some of the absolutely tiny number of Jews in early America traded slaves, a few even had plantations. But the vast number of American Jews--essentially all the Ostjuden, who dominate in America--have ancestors who came later in "great wave" immigration.

The most self-reflective critiques i've ever read are of the sort of side of the mouth mumbling that sure some Jewish shopkeeper or landlord didn't treat his black cliental well. That "we Jews sometimes picked up negative attitudes toward blacks from white Americans ... " weren't all we could be ... but fought for "Civil Rights" and are great allies in overthrowing whitey. And honestly even that mumbling--we should have never succumbed to evil whitey's prejudices--self-critique is fairly rare.

Mostly what you read/see/hear is "those deplorable goyim!" need to ...

    ~~

And note, my comment above wasn't meant to be any sort of complete sociological analysis.

Another aspect that's notable is that elite white gentiles--especially the non-religious ones--seem to have Judeocized attitudinally. They are more alienated from their fellow Americans, and feel less (or even zero) national/community responsibility. Their attitude is also not "we" are responsible, but "the deplorables" are responsible and ... we know we are good and virtuous people because we are not deplorable. "Fellow travelers".

Judaism actually exhorts one to repent daily, as well (Mishna, Avos, 2:15; Talmud, Shabbos: 153a; numerous other additional sources). The daily liturgy is replete with declarations of confession and exhortations to introspection and penitence.
(Jews who recite the prescribed liturgy daily are mostly limited to the Orthodox. While it is unfortunately true that many fall victim to habit, reciting the words only perfunctorily with little thought given to their profound meaning, there are also many who pray with great concentration and fervor.)

Neither the Dutch nor the English Puritans were anything like modern Evangelicals. The Church of England was essentially Roman Catholicism with no Pope, and the C of A dominated Virginia. The Society of Friends (Quakers) weren't evangelicals in the modern sense, either, and they played a big role in Penn's settlement. The Roman Catholics of Maryland certainly weren't anything like modern evangelicals. Et cetera, et cetera.

One of the good things about Williamsburg is the re-enactment of 18th century culture, this can be educational if one pays attention.

The Current Year sudden obsession with groveling before blackness has nothing at all to do with any culture from 1620 to 1776 to 1850. Even the soldiers who enlisted in the Union army to free slaves would never grovel before them, didn't want to live with them either.

Most people are ignorant of their own history, and random snippets of (((moldbuggery))) have not helped but in fact have caused harm.

Read it and weep my fellow 2nd class citizens, the public displays of morality your seeing have their roots in Protestant Christianity. Public acts of morality are part of Quaker worship it’s not exclusive to that sect but there the best example to be found in American culture. In the George Fox style of worship everyone sits in church and silently reflects and when the spirit moves them the stand up and say something righteous. Find a local church go see it for yourself.
Now take the social high received from this and introduce modern communications now you have a global audience, quite the endorphin high. I’m not kidding it really activates their prefrontal cortex leading to a high. That George Floyd is a career criminal who resisted arrest doesn’t matter -it is all emotional!
Read Dr. Kevin Macdonalds research on white folks you can see the truth of his research right before your eyes. When issues are constantly framed as some lofty moral issue the puritans are there displaying their moral superiority (Mitt Romney) facts be dammed, it’s all act. The ((( J))) community understands this and in truth Protestant Christianity is gentiles larping as Jews, so there already half way there.

The great event has not yet occurred.

The restructuring and restabilizing of societal ethos has not yet occurred.

The prophesized jubilee remains in the future.

    The near future.

I don’t yet know what it will be but I do know that once we (i.e. society) chose the road of violence ((because unfortunately Covid was a dud and no amount of pop press pumping could inflate it into a real threat)) – once society chose the road of destruction and tribal conflict it’s too late to turn back to a “we’re all in this against nature”, pre-jubilee fight.

The fight will be a tribal one. Exactly what the names and colors of the tribes will be and how bloody and/or repressive it will be is in part dependant upon accidents of history tht have not yet occured, such as some violent incident being more or less effective or some headline or phrase “going viral”, but the youth have not yet inherited the world in a manner satisfying to anyone.

The opening sentence of the NY Post article you linked is highly misleading.

Brooklyn’s Orthodox Jewish community registered its outrage over the racially charged police-custody death of George Floyd Sunday,

    The very next paragraph begins,

More than 200 demonstrators, nearly all of them Orthodox Jews,

Even if the total number of demonstrators were double that, i.e. 400, it would still be but a minuscule fraction of Brooklyn's total Orthodox Jewish population. Said population, like Orthodox Jewry in general, is actually composed of many different and even quite distinct communities. There is much fractionation and multiple layers of subsets.

Note that in the photos of the demonstrators that accompany the article, one can clearly see women dressed in a manner that flagrantly violates even the most lenient of the standards of modesty that vary across the Orthodox spectrum. While one can find such individuals who are affiliated with a synagogue that is at least nominally Orthodox, in lifestyle and outlook they are actually closer to non-Orthodox Jews than to serious, devout, rigorously Orthodox Jews.

On the other hand, there are those who serve themselves, who do not hold any moral principles, who want to demolish the family and the nation, exploit workers to make themselves unduly wealthy, foment internal divisions and wars, and accumulate power and money: for them the fallacious illusion of temporal well-being will one day – if they do not repent – yield to the terrible fate that awaits them, far from God, in eternal damnation...

Of course, Leftists will tell you that his efforts were sabotaged by Wreckers and his nostrums were not tried hard enough and that is why there was no Change. So now we must redouble our efforts. Joe Biden and his black lady VP will complete the work that Obama started but did not have time to finish in 8 short years.

What got me thinking along theses lines is reports of the “I LUV Woke” essays now required of University of California professor-hopefuls from their tenure committees.

Me: “Hillary Clinton just advocated for this in her recent article in Medium.”
    White Wokester: “Oh?...”
    Me: “No, not really.”

It does look like it will be Kamala, but she couldn't even get black support.

One issue is that she had terrible advisors, which included her sister. But I think she's got all new advisors. Scott Adams has noticed a big improvement in the last week in her public body language and speaking. So, she may be becoming a much more persuasive candidate.

But the Democrats sure do know how to deal themselves weak hands. First, they tried Hillary, who could barely stand up without coughing. Now, it's Biden, who is turning to dust before our eyes.

On the hand, Trump has been pummeled constantly for 4 years, which has kept his approval ratings low, even when things were going so well. But now with COVID and BLM/Antifa riots, the anti-Trump persuaders have something to work with, even if none of this is his fault.

Our election system is modeled after horse-racing (i.e., first past the post). Sometimes people refer to it as a horse race. In a cartoon, what would this horse race look like? I envision Trump with vicious animals biting him as he tries to get to the finish line. Kamala is trying to lift and pull Joe in the right direction, as he spins around looking confused, asking which way is the Senate race.

The bettors at PredictIt have Biden at 55 cents and Trump at 47 cents. However, I don't know how accurate these bettors are. I hope Trump wins, but I just don't know.

I'm just dropping this here so that posterity has a record of it:

The great event has not yet occurred.

The restructuring and restabilizing of societal ethos has not yet occurred.

The prophesized jubilee remains in the future.

    The near future.

I don't yet know what it will be but I do know that once we (i.e. society) chose the road of violence ((because unfortunately Covid was a dud and no amount of pop press pumping could inflate it into a real threat)) - once society chose the road of destruction and tribal conflict it's too late to turn back to a "we're all in this against nature", pre-jubilee fight.

The fight will be a tribal one. Exactly what the names and colors of the tribes will be and how bloody and/or repressive it will be is in part dependant upon accidents of history tht have not yet occured, such as some violent incident being more or less effective or some headline or phrase "going viral", but the youth have not yet inherited the world in a manner satisfying to anyone.

I have a track record of seeing things clearly and I know what I'm talking about now as well. The Great Excitement has not yet occurred.

I'm curious how it will come to pass.

If anybody cares, I can tell y0u that this shit isn't happening in the rest of the world, "the rest of the world" meaning where my wife and I live and where hundreds of millions of other people live.

Today we enjoyed a beautiful, sunny, breezy Sunday morning, driving our convertible around and picking up things we wanted to enjoy: We drove through the woods over to our favorite fish market and bought a big piece of swordfish. I am going to grill it today for dinner. The man who sold it to me, packed it in ice, and worked his way through the arcane insanity of whatever new debit card process we needed to follow (through a plexiglass shield, of course) was some kind of East Asian/Pacific Islander/I don't know what. The point is, our interaction was great. He was great. I was great.

Along the way, we saw some Black Americans and some White Americans. Oh, and there was a caravan of classic cars going the other way, old Porches, Corvettes, Bentleys and even an old Packard. I waved at them over my head from the convertible, because that's one of the cool things you can do from a convertible. It was a beautiful Sunday in America.

Or maybe it just feels great and is a healthy practice. Jesus did it because it was good hospitality in that culture. The whole foot washing thing is bizarre to Americans. We imagine it as a weird Muslim practice. But I wonder if we would feel differently if a critical mass of Americans actually got down there in the shower and scrubbed their feet instead of going for months (or years?) without detailing the area. Clean feet leads to healthy feet. And when your feet feel good your entire body feels good.

    Replies: @PiltdownMan

Washing your feet before entering the home was (is) customary and necessary in dusty, warm countries where people were shod in sandals or leather slippers (or were barefoot.) I think, among the rich, it was customary for slaves or servants to wash the master of the house’s feet. The rest of the symbolism follows.

400, it would still be but a minuscule fraction of Brooklyn’s total Orthodox Jewish population.

Right, who ever heard of “Jewish Guilt”? Jews never look inward. Jews don’t have a holiday where they fast for 24 hours and pray for the atonement of their sins. A prayer where they literally beat their breast and recite their sins. Nothing like that.

“Not ethnocentric enough” is a ploy to defuse tensions by disparaging one’s own group and hoping to be at least tolerated by a rival group. In other words, if living in a multi-cultural environment were so easy, you wouldn’t find people gravitating toward one pole or the other.
