From my new Taki’s Magazine column:
Blacks Behaving Badly in Memphis
Steve SailerFebruary 01, 2023
One downside of reading me is that tomorrow’s headlines aren’t as full of surprises. For example, while much of the media world is currently stunned that the five Memphis cops who beat a black motorist to death are black, my regular readers aren’t.
Read the whole thing there.

Well I don’t go to Taki’s Distaff Rag much but did today and it was a great piece. Well argued and unambiguous.
One minor snit (Isn’t there always?)
Should be
No?
Expenses must be trimmed, Sacrifices must be made.
Tyre, in a more unusual way, was just another poor victim of The Covid. Unfortunately for him, being a Californian expat, he was raised where those that matter have the luxury of telling the police what’s up; not the more traditional other way round.
“He was an avid skateboarder from Sacramento, California, and came to Memphis just before the coronavirus pandemic and got stuck.”

Similarly, when every college in the country frets over getting their black student population up to around 12-13% to match the demographics, they don’t understand that that means the end of HBCUs and PBIs. They also don’t consider whether blacks actually prefer to be spread to the wind across the country and a permanent minority in every institution or whether they might enjoy being at a majority black school.

Slightly OT but I hope helpful: Takimag is a pain to read on conventional browsers because of the animated ads. I have been using Reader Mode in Apple’s Safari browser on my iPhone, but that’s no good any more because it chops off the end of the article. Latest fix: use the Brave browser on an iPhone. Most ads disappear and Steve’s article appears in full.
What surprised me the most was not that The Five were black, but rather, that they were five. I would have thought that this was the kind of situation where group action is superior to what individual action would have been. It turned out to be exactly the opposite (as Ron would say). So I did a bit of quick research, and now I see that the factors leading to worse decision-making predominated. What really caught my eye was that where group members have a strong and conformist social identity, and, the feeling that they were extremely valuable, the group does a stupid thing.

In the broader culture, the lesson of the last 10 years or so is that the thing that makes cops bad is racism rather than poor training, poor impulse control, poor command, etc., and they're black themselves so they probably didn't think they could be the bad guys where the only morally culpable sin is racism. It's speculation, but could they have embraced a Dirty Harry ethos (or, more accurately, that of the SFPD Death Squad in Magnum Force) of "getting things done without the red tape?" The "cop who disregards the stupid rules to get the bad guys off the streets" is not an uncommon feature in American popular culture - doesn't McGarrett get a special warrant for his squad directly from the Governor of Hawaii in Hawaii Five-O?
Is this a LA Ramparts Scandal kind of situation?
This would make this different than the allegation that the officers were acting as the overseers for The Man.
Michael Lind has an interesting essay just up on The Tablet: “The Power-Mad Utopians:
America needs a broad popular front to stop the revolution from above that is transforming the country”, which ties together the Green New Deal, the Diversity-Inclusion-Equity scam, and the attempt to erase biological sex.
I would have liked him to have included the US proxy war against Russia, which is being run by the same people with the same darkly utopian goals, and I think the argument needs to be tied together with the concept of the ruling “overclass,” a term which Lind has popularized.
I also disagree with him that neo-liberal economic policies are “libertarian”: the destruction of the currency and turning our financial system and fiscal policy into Ponzi scams does not seem very “libertarian” to me!
But the essay does make some crucial points and, as usual with Lind, is quite readable.

More or less a "squish" liberal who imagines a JFK fantasy world where as in the ancient days, Time Magazine and others doled out the Democrat Party line which seemed almost reasonable. After all, who didn't love FDR?
Sort of like a liberal version the then still breathing "conservative" CIA asset William F. Buckley Jr.
Now he seems to have finally gotten wind of the Comrades, after years of their neo Marxist identity politics, which may not Be A Good Thing.
Being a well fed academic think tanker and an Official Intellectual (and open government worshiper), he's finally getting wind of the modern Red Guards. Now doubting his wisdom...

Thanks, very interesting. This is a brief FT piece on companies offloading labor costs under the guise of convenience. There is reason to believe this may actually be harmful, since the form-filling and rule-navigating which the customer does herself could have been a low wage first job.

Because history does matter, in anything to to with the Sacred Cow Numinous Negro, the first issue is to know Who Created Whom to use against Whom?
In short, the Yankee WASP made the Negro the Scared Cow Numinous Negro in order to wage culture wear against the South and Southerners, which would morally justify all the dead in
‘the Civil War’ as well as all the theft by regional elites during Reconstruction. And like all such things the enemies list did not stay short. Large numbers of Irish Catholics made certain that the same Who group would make them another against Whom group. After all, the largest anti-draft riot during the sacred war to free the Numinous Negro was in NTYC and was largely Irish, and most of the leaders always coming back to asserting that they, buried in poverty, had no desire to die to free some other peoples;lke that the rich of NYC already were beginning to coddle at every opportunity.
And then as Irish were the primary foundation of the world’s first truly professional place force in NYC, cops had to become bad, because surly they existed just to harass the dusky hued angels. If not, then the basis of the NYC PD would have been black.
And so America’s actual race war, white elites using Negroes as weapons and tools against the whites they hate and fear, or just find icky, not only has been never ending but now has been made global.
If you fail to address how things became as they are, you sure are not going to take corrections. The great problem here is that buried deep in the minds and hearts of the Deep State and the elite whites of America is that if they were to undue any of that, they would ben exposed as just another set of self=righteous thugs who use idiots to wage proxy wars to make themselves richer and more powerful. And blacks are far from sharp enough figure out how that game always hurts the black community as a whole.
Is there a way to change any of that without essentially clearing away all off the Deep State elite types? I doubt it. And I expect them to keep pushing to advance hatred of White worldwide. After all, holding the power they do is because Massa Lincoln done freed them slaves and pleased God mightily.
Of course, it should be coupled with prohibitions for firearm possession for all of them as Federal Employees. If you are a Fed, you get a billy club and a smiley face button. But no guns, no mace, no tazers, and no body armor.
Most agree (including Sailer) that having proportionally more blacks police blacks is better for social cohesion. Obviously being a policeman is a “political” job in a key sense, and so community representation is important. That reasonable objective has a big tradeoff since blacks as a group have the worst probability distribution of relevant traits for that job. It is like the DMV woman with a loaded gun. There is no obvious solution to this problem other than avoiding neighborhoods with lots of blacks or black police officers, or both.

Okay, I’ve never heard of Michael Lind. But it looks from an online glance that he may be another comfortable Establishment dissident.
Has this public intellectual said anything one way or the other about “the US proxy war against Russia”? (As you’ve repeatedly noted, to answer that question one would need to be familiar with Mr. Lind’s work since at least 2014.)
Or how about the other major issue of our time, the “overclass’s” management of the COVID dempanic?
I’ve lost most of my appetite for other side dishes of politics on the intellectual buffet.
In the article I linked to, Lind does attack the younger Bush for his attempts at: But I do not know if Lind has commented on the US proxy war in Ukraine.
Two general points:
First, Lind is an old-fashioned New Deal liberal. I am not -- I am a radical Jeffersonian, more or less a libertarian. So, of course, I disagree with Lind on a lot of concrete issues.
Nonetheless, I think Lind has a lot of interesting things to say.
Second, in my opinion, the critical issues we face right now are the Ukraine crisis, which could get us all killed, and the fiscal/monetary/financial Ponzi scheme created by the US ruling class that could destroy the world economy. And there are several other horrific things happening -- the attempt to erase human biology, the diversity-inclusion-equity scam, etc. And then there is the Covid scam, the open borders, the global-warming scam, the collapse of our education system, etc.
But, beyond these immediate threats, I think it is important to look at the underlying cause that ties these all together. And that underlying cause is that the ruling elite -- what I call the "parasitic verbalist overclass" -- is completely out of touch with reality and truly hates their fellow citizens, especially those who deal with material reality.
Lind has been pretty good at exploring that underlying problem, and, for that reason, I think he is important.Replies: @J.Ross, @Greta Handel
You have every right (and good reason) to toot your own horn here. However, I believe you are confusing “conventional wisdom” with “Lyin’ Press narrative that most people with common sense don’t believe anyway.”
You read the Lyin’ Press a lot, for work reasons. Lots of Americans know better and don’t, not just your readers.

Lind is also correct about that Libertarianj label, which I assume you reject because you are anti-soclaiist and have been led to see Libertarianism as the antidote. What Libertatiansims is guarantees demands for socialsm, because Libertarianism proclaims that people acting as they wish for their desires and needs will produce much good. The Utopians are those who believe that the U.S. can have the per capita GDP of Singapore with the social safety net of Sweden while having the population of Mexico City and Lagos. Delusional does not begin to describe them. They are also the people who repeat the meme that white Americans are too lazy to do manual labor, too stupid for high tech work, to0 twisted to get married, and too self to have children. thus, white Americans need to be replaced with immigrants to do the things Americans refuse to do.

The Black writer Jason Whitlock has an essay up, “Yes, baby-mama culture explains the Tyre Nichols tragedy “ that bluntly lays out the problem that led to the Memphis tragedy. His key point:
It would be very nice if young men would become caring and responsible adults without any control and restraint by mature, adult males.
Some do.
Many do not.
I am afraid that, as a matter of socio-psychological reality, Whitlock is right.
BTW I've read that one of leading search phrases on Google is "Tyre Nichols criminal record". Unfortunately, in that market demand vastly exceeds supply; there's no information about that at all as far as I can tell (even via duckduckgo).Replies: @Jack D
Also to add this observation. Nichols was reportedly crying and yelling for his "mama"or mom during most of his vicious beatdown.
That is not something most 29 YO functional White males would do in a similar situation.
Definitely proof of Whitlock's "baby mama culture" observation.
I think much of black male violence directed at women (mainly but not exclusively black women) is due to this resentment against female "father figures" in their households. Women end up doing the discipline of young males (absent any fathers in the house) and often lose total control over them.
In "White cultural" families it is the young women who are normally the main and only object of "mother discipline" and hence, at some teen age as puberty kicks in hard, go off track and do nearly everything possible to piss off "mama" and her effort to control Young Hot Lovely.
In "black culture" families, females and males only get the Mama treatment. Daddy ain't home, ever.
So while the young women go off track, sow wild oats, most eventually return to the nest Mama has waiting for them. Wiser about men and the world. The male Wild Child, however, gets kicked out and while often returns (free food! free shelter!) still lacks any wisdom imparted by the absent male disciplinarian. Though sometimes this is replaced in sports by a male coach figure. If lucky enough to have that.
The young man can't circle back for Daddy wisdom since Daddy is a stranger, one among many revolving door older household males keeping Mama company, for a while anyway.
This lack of a family male role model for black males is well known and understood. Welfare keeps Daddy away, or prison, and the matriarchy is now complete.
Too bad we have to learn of Nichols love of "mama" while being kicked to death by other young black males. Wearing police uniforms. No, they ain't your mama and have their own resentment issues with her...Replies: @Joe Stalin, @Jack D, @onetwothree, @PhysicistDave
But there's the issue of causation: is the matriarchy a cause or an effect of black dysfunction? Or, does the black matriarchy have nothing to do with black dysfunction at all and is rather just the default way blacks organize their communities?Replies: @PhysicistDave
Gee, at first I thought the title was “Uprising Memphis,” but blacks running amok in American cities is run of the mill … indeed, unsurprising.
Because of the factors Steve describes, it’s impossible to have any organization or institution in which black are a significant factor perform well. My city has a mayoral election this year and one of the candidates running against the white guy is a black woman, to predictable hosannas about the possibilities of black female leadership. To an acquaintance who voiced this feeling, I asked them to name a well-run black led city or company – dead silence was the response.
We are also at the point in the NFL season where every year analysts bemoan the dearth of black head coaches, owners, executives, etc. Obviously the majority of owners and GMs have major reservations about the majority of the prospective black candidates, a subject that cannot be candidly discussed when something like 70 percent of the players are black. Like most things, when real money is on the line, a lot of the platitudes about diversity and inclusion go out the window.
“For example, while much of the media world is currently stunned ”
I don’t believe they’re stunned. That implies that the media possess some sort of honest naivety about negroes and their behavior. Most people know the media are not at all honest.
Where do 100% of MSM live? As far away from negroes as possible. (AFAFNAP) Where do their kids go to school? AFAFNAP. Where do they shop and recreate? AFAFNAP
The media know exactly what negroes are. So they aren’t stunned. If anything, they are disappointed that negroes continue to betray the narrative by behaving exactly as they do.

Seems to me that way, way back in the distant past, maybe the 1970’s, the Narrative would be: “I looked out and saw bad policing, so I decided to become a policeman to improve the lot; set an example; change the system from the inside; etc.”
The vibe was more to do it yourself; go to the inner city as a teacher/social worker/community organizer (BARRY!); Indian Reservation; third world; etc.
Now it’s sit back and tell others what to do. Might be time for all these progressives clucking their tongues to man up and do what’s needed to be done.

Thanks for this. I have always found Lind thoughtful and interesting to read, even if I haven’t always agreed with him (you’re right about “neo-liberal economic policies”). It is without question that this thing of ours has devolved into an outright oligarchy.
That sums it up pretty well.
BTW I’ve read that one of leading search phrases on Google is “Tyre Nichols criminal record”. Unfortunately, in that market demand vastly exceeds supply; there’s no information about that at all as far as I can tell (even via duckduckgo).
Do you or anyone else know the stats on this sort of behavior during segregation? I assume all the cops were black then for the black areas, at least in the south. I wonder if part of the complaints by middle class blacks was that they were tired of putting up with brutal, stupid cops in their towns.
Frankly, I don’t really trust the cops in my town either. I stay away from them, and from the people who get the police calling on them.
I also wonder if anything other than brutality could possibly be effective in policing ghettos.
In segregation times, there weren't many black policemen. Black parts of town were lightly policed.
The white policemen overlooked a lot of black crime, as long as the crime stayed in black neighborhoods.
Sylvester "Two-Gun Pete" Washington, a black detective working Chicago's south side in the 1930s - 40s, didn't think so. https://www.chicagotribune.com/news/chi-city-cop-struck-fear-into-south-side-20130906-story.html
As someone who has worked for the federal government for over four decades, I’ve found that the common belief for government inefficiency inside it is that you just don’t have the right people in charge and if you could get the right people in charge government would work better. After 40 years, I’ve come to the conclusion that it is more a systemic rather than personnel problem.
Efficiency comes from competition and consumer choice. The best solution to inefficient government is to move as much of it as you can over to the private sector. In a few situations like the police or the military you can’t do this. Here the voters need to closely watch government to make sure it is focused on its core function. One of the main forms of government inefficiency is straying from its core function and spending effort on something else.
In the case of the Defense department that I work for, that would be affirmative action hiring, indoctrination of employees in woke leftism and getting involved in countries of no strategic value to the U.S. like the Ukraine. It would be the same with the police. The core function there is to catch robbers, murderers and rapists. It seems to be doing a poor job of that.
The unit I served in was all white and stayed white. It was Whitey McWhitey for nearly three years. Not a hint of affirmative action. A merit based system was in place for efficiency and cohesion which helped keep down injuries during training and deployment. This was in the 1990s.

Watching the videos I just wonder whether these five guys conceived of the police as the “good gang,” which acts like other gangs but has the imprimatur of being the good guys with legal sanction and state issued weapons. This could be augmented by giving them a cool sounding gang name like “Scorpion Squad” in a down and out city with a sky high homicide rate and lots of other illicit, murderous gangs consisting of other black men in their twenties.
In the broader culture, the lesson of the last 10 years or so is that the thing that makes cops bad is racism rather than poor training, poor impulse control, poor command, etc., and they’re black themselves so they probably didn’t think they could be the bad guys where the only morally culpable sin is racism. Sacred Cows, above criticism, but beneath agency.
A rapier not a bludgeon, Mr iSteve – well said.
Let’s see,
1. Debase citizenship with open borders.
2. Pay black women to breed the next generation of criminals.
3. Debase the currency by printing unlimited sums of free currency.
4. Taunt a nuclear-armed Russia with a proxy war on its border.
5. Invert the competence hierarchy by educating, hiring and promoting unqualified minorities.
6. Destroy male-female relationships via radical feminism followed by trans-activism.
7. Release the mentally ill onto the streets and turn them into zombies with illegal drugs.
I don’t think I could come up with a better plan to destroy America if I tried.
Yes he is–notwithstanding that the phenomenon which Whitlock is describing, leaving aside the specifics of the Nichols case, has been known for a long, long time. No politician these days would get away with using the term “matriarchy” to describe the average black family, as this would be the equivalent of touching a third rail.
Pretty consistent with general theme of the article is the absolute shit show on display in the AFC Championship game by Ron Torbert, the white hat referee. He messed up the play clock, resulting in extra downs for KC and looked absolutely confused throughout.
Torbert is given this honor of head referee because he’s black and for no other reason because he’s a notoriously bad official. Everyone knows this.
Again, a black man hoisted onto a position he has no business being in, resulting in a lot of harm to a lot of other black men.

Yep. When money talks, people listen.
The major cities in the US, are not going to reinstitute law and order policies. It was still possible for Giuliani to do it because NYC was, at the time, 51% White. NY is now under 40 % and a good 50% of the Whites are far left. Blacks always vote black and will always vote black dem over black repub. There’s no saving the cities. In NY cops have backed off, arrests are way down, and the city just keeps sinking. People often don’t even bother to call the cops or reports thefts or harassment. We won’t be coming out of this until some very powerful people realize they’ve gone too far. Take a walk around Penn Station, that’s a long way off.
Like most things, when real money is on the line, a lot of the platitudes about diversity and inclusion go out the window.Replies: @Prester John, @Anonymous, @Known Fact
My city, Boston, has a high-IQed NE Asian woman (not to be redundant) as mayor. A Harvard University and Harvard Law grad.
Makes not difference because she, like all elected politicians, has to be a faithful servant of the oligarchs. So all we get is more spending and more programs for NAMs. More affordable housing, more programs for disadvantaged minorities, more anti-crime social programs, and on and on. And all we see is resulting from it is more and more crime and decay.
So, while she’s nicer to look at and articulate and smart, in the end it’s no different from having some hostile moron black woman as mayor.
Yet another feral Negro is killed by da poh-liiiiice…
Time for yet another “outrage” – which, allegedly, already sweeps the country 😁😁😁 and will end in Restorative Racial Rrrrrevolu-shun…
Meanwhile in the REAL world almost nobody gives a flying f…ck. Those who do are mildly irritated and intermittently suffer from:
“Negro Fatigue”, or NF, is one of the fastest-growing chronic fatigue syndromes. Month by month, the number of people who are experiencing the symptoms of NF is growing. It affects primarily white people and Asians, mostly between the ages of 25 and 55, although anyone can experience it. City-dwellers are more likely than rural inhabitants to display its symptoms, but NF can strike any white person of any age or locale at any time.
Are you among those suffering from NF? Know these warning signs:
1. Increased blood pressure when in the presence of Negroes, or when viewing images of Negroes on TV or in print.
2. Lack of concern with what Negroes want, deserve, think, or feel.
3. Diminished patience with behaviors typical of Negroes, e.g., talking loudly in public, crotch-grabbing, ruining theatrical movies etc.
4. Increased awareness of the number of Negroes in one’s immediate environment.
5. Hyper-alertness when encountering Negroes in public.
6. Lack of desire to view or listen to Negro music, video programming, motion pictures, or other entertainments.
7. Anomalous behavior (e.g., walking away in mid-sentence) when conversing with other white people who seem concerned with the welfare of Negroes.
8. Decreased resistance to using the N-Word.
9. Increased feeling of annoyance when encountering the term N-word.
10. Scrupulous avoidance of contact with Negroes at work, school, shops, etc.
11. Hatred or cold indifference toward professional and collegiate sports, especially basketball; increased interest in “white” sports such as hockey, swimming, etc.
12. Sudden lack of shame in “white” behaviors (e.g. earning a living, abiding by the law, monogamous marriage, wearing Dockers, etc.).
Previous Unz Review post even has NF flyers template – to be printed and posted everywhere

4) She'd been doing this since 2020.
5) She only got caught because the school was $300K over its yearly budget halfway through the year.
6) She bought / stole 11,000 cases or about 440,000 lbs or 220 tons. That is 10-11 full sized tractor trailer loads of chicken wings.

Even the Memphis Police Department is matriarchal.
Good points on the zero-sum game of trying to achieve identical distributions of every group in every school, workplace, government, career, hobby. You can’t just say no to more white males where they are overrepresented, you’ll have start saying no to everybody else where they are overrepresented. Bright young lady gets into a top-ranked science university and wants to major in biology? “Sorry, women are overrepresented in those classes, we have to place you in a math major instead.”
In a lot of universities, the "studies" departments are refuges for the below average AA admits, while I'll bet that there aren't that many black female physics majors. If there are, they are probably black like Chandra Prescod-Weinstein is "black" or Liz Warren is an "Indian" - only in American "one drop rule" terms.

Are they REALLY stunned or are they just pretending?
That many media outlets have suggested or implied that the black officers were expressing racism or have been conditioned by white supremacy expresses the absurdities of the lengths media will go to reinforce The Narrative.
It's more likely the public is stunned by these efforts to rationalize the officers' conduct.
May 25, 2020. An arrest goes wrong. Let’s charge the officers involved with life in prison. Let’s impugn all police officers in the country! Let’s threaten all officers.
Can’t recruit new officers? Let’s dramatically lower the standards. Don’t consider what might happen next.
We are living in Thomas Sowell’s world where the elite classes fail to consider “second stage” thinking. Or, at least their voters are ignorant of second stage thinking. The elites themselves may be well aware, but are so malevolent that they just want to bring the whole thing down, just as communists have always wanted to do to America.
Steve mentions in passing that Memphis has been able to keep its official population pretty stable by annexing 15 suburbs. This mode of expansion by some cities also serves to dilute their per-capita crime stats, somewhat disguising the utter mayhem in inner cities such as Jacksonville FL.
It also makes it harder to statistically compare one city to another — but law-abiding residents know chaos when they see it, despite the protestations of Govs Hochul and Pritzker that crime is really down and fear of crime is just a public “perception”
Reality is a stubborn creature.
Even after you sweep it out the front door, it will simply crawl in through the back door.

Much like the media’s Racing Too White (or too male, or too whatever) before every Triple Crown day.
Yes, it’s interesting to see where the elites draw the line. MIT makes strong efforts to ensure that their enrollment is almost 50/50 male/female (despite the applicant pool being skewed male) but once you are in, they make no effort to control what “Courses” (MIT speak for majors) the students pick. The result is that there is a wide spread in gender ratios. For example, 3/4 of the undergraduates whose primary major is Brain and Cognitive Sciences are women, but only one in four undergraduates in Nuclear Science and Engineering is a woman. I’m sure that every department would like to be above average in female enrollment but this leads you to the Lake Woebegone Paradox – it’s impossible for all the children to be above average.
In a lot of universities, the “studies” departments are refuges for the below average AA admits, while I’ll bet that there aren’t that many black female physics majors. BTW I've read that one of leading search phrases on Google is "Tyre Nichols criminal record". Unfortunately, in that market demand vastly exceeds supply; there's no information about that at all as far as I can tell (even via duckduckgo).Replies: @Jack D
People want to blame the victim, because that way their universe is not disturbed. If it is true that the cops can just randomly stop someone driving down the street and beat them to death for no reason, that is deeply disturbing, because that someone could be YOU. So we go desperately looking for ways in which we are different than the victim. Surely the victim is a habitual criminal unlike yourself, or he has been dating the ex-wife of one of the cops, unlike yourself. At a minimum, he is a different race than you. He comes from a broken home, unlike you. Anything so that this horrible thing is happening to the OTHER and could not possibly happen to you.
Not for want of trying, no one appears to have been able to have dug up significant dirt on Tyre Nichols. He comes from a semi-intact family – he has a mother and a step-father. He seems to have been gainfully employed at Fedex. He was NOT an aspiring rapper. He had pretty harmless and not stereotypically black hobbies like skateboarding and photography. Quit trying to “other” him to make yourself feel less threatened – that’s an understandable human reaction but it’s sick. He really could have been you.
Should I have told her, "Mom, if the police shoot me for running away from them if they have no reason to suspect that I have a gun, they violated police policy, and the City will settle for multiple millions of dollars."?

Well it is published on Tablet, so you’re not going to get anybody to talk sense when it comes to Vladolf Putler
What else is there to say? This country has been in a stupor since WWII when people were slowly convinced that blacks are just the same as us, and if they weren’t oppressed by segregation, redlining, and restrictive covenants then they would be just as functional as whites. But that didn’t happen, and the unhinged negro fetishists that have run this country since the 60s will destroy pretty much every aspect of American life to fulfill their twisted desires.
Affirmative action in Memphis police hiring results not just in dumb blacks getting a badge, but dumb whites too. It guarantees that the most incompetent will get hired, and the especially incompetent among them will get promoted. This happens in every single American institution, and it has made life miserable for everybody who has to live under these institutions.
I no longer have patience for people who maintain these delusions, it’s not worth explaining why they are wrong when 2020 happened and should have made it self-evident. Anybody who still thinks blacks just need to be given more handouts or preferential treatment is stupid at best and evil at worst.
Maybe dial back your outrage? I just happen to be a supporter of the “knowledge is good” school of thought. Tyre tried to flee; it would be interesting to know if he had a reason.

The basic comic premise of the piece was funny, but saying, “MrBeast could have purchased one M1 Abrams tank or dozens of Javelin missiles that would have … been sold on the black market to pay Zelensky’s prostitution bill from his recent trip to D.C. ” is a bridge too far I think. It crosses the line from humor to slander. Now, if they had mentioned Hunter Biden’s prostitution bill, that would have been funny because a good joke has an element of truth in it.

I agree – knowledge is good. The knowledge of the Internet appears to be that this guy has no criminal record. From that you can either conclude that there has been some massive conspiracy by Google, the NY Times, the CIA and the Elders of Zion to cleanse the Internet of his prior misdeeds or else that the guy in fact has no criminal record. Occam’s Butterknife points to the latter as the most likely explanation.
PS, there was no outrage. I was just offering an explanation of why there is, as you say, a strong demand for derogatory information about someone who was primarily a victim. Sometimes, people do “blame the victim” because they are the criminal or identify with the criminal’s group but in this case I think it is a psychological defense mechanism.
Cops arrest hundreds of thousands of people a year and no one gets hurt 99.9% of the time. Anyone who flees, thinking that'll reduce his chance of getting hurt, is an idiot and/or impulsive — exactly the profile of the kind of young men who tend to get into the most trouble.
Anyway, the truth will come out if there's a trial; we can reopen this discussion then.

Are certain regions or cities (Black and White) going to suffer or gain from regional IQ selection? I recall data showing that the few White children remaining in Baltimore had an IQ around 90(?). I can’t imagine what a Black area that goes through similar negative selection looks like. What’s the average IQ of Black areas that have seen an exodus of every Black able to hold down a steady job and stay out of jail?
Tyre was tased before he fled. Why did the white police officer use a TASER on him ? I assume Tyre refused to comply with the police instructions thus the officer tased him. The first officer to tase him was white and he has not been charged with a crime. Was the use of a TASER justified? If so this may explain why the white officer has not been charged.

"Everyone" knows that he is EEEVIL and there's no use pretend that he is not or that the opinions of white racists have any validity.Maybe it's better that way. If people had understood that Walter Cronkite was just another partisan NY Leftist hack and not the Voice of God, when he pronounced anathema on America's effort in Vietnam, people might not have bought into it. It's time to rip off the mask. When the Washington Post tells you something, from now on you don't have to accept it as objective truth - even they are no longer pretending that what they are telling you is the objective truth. If it's a story about blacks, look at the byline of the reporter and if she is black, consider what she is writing in the context of Downie's piece. That's the thing about credibility - once you have lost it, it's very difficult to get it back. People have a hunger for objective truth so if the MSM is no longer even pretending to sell you the objective truth (hey, what is objective truth anyway - it's just something that white people made up) people are going to look for the real thing elsewhere. The non-reporting on all the Pentagon and CIA assets obviously in Ukraine right now is not scrubbed from the Internet by massive conspiracy? After a decade of being burned by media lies of omission over variations of this same goddam story aren’t we entitled to be skeptical of the official narrative?
The US security establishment has a big incentive to lie about the extent of its involvement with the destruction of Nordstream and their presence in Ukraine. I don't see a comparable national interest at stake in scrubbing Tyre's criminal record. George Floyd was an even bigger national saint (because he was "murdered" by white cops) but they were still unable to scrub his record.

Dear Steve —
You may already be familiar with the Claritas LLC segmentations of American society by ZIP code, but since I can’t find any references to Claritas, PRZM, or related terms when I search your work on UNZ, and since their findings may be of interest to some readers, I thought I’d send two links. The firm codified many of the classic nicknames for types of neighborhoods, some of which you’ve probably heard from marketers or pollsters — “Blueblood Estates” or “Kids and Cul-de-Sacs”, and less genteel classics like “Norma Rae-ville” or “Shotguns and Pickups”, which can still be found but now require a bit more digging. Their breakdown of 38126, the poorest ZIP code in Memphis, currently yields the euphemized terms “Family Thrifts”, “Park Bench Seniors”, “Lo-Tech Singles”, “New Beginnings”, and “Striving Selfies”. Still, despite the wokewashing, the discoveries live on.
Here’s their ZIP code looker-upper:

And here’s the main site, which leads you to some expensive services but which also includes a few way fun free tools:

Happy ZIPing, kids —
And yet you somehow about these things. How is it, oh wise one, that you know about Hunter’s laptop but you don’t know about Tyre’s criminal record? Being scrubbed from the MSM is only possible if you define MSM very narrowly to mean the Washington Post and the NY Times, but in reality the NY Post and the Daily Mail are MSM too even if the snooty guys who work for the NY Times look down their noses at them. This is putting aside all the “disrespectable” sources on the Internet which will give you even more information, which is sometimes even true now and then.
The US security establishment has a big incentive to lie about the extent of its involvement with the destruction of Nordstream and their presence in Ukraine. I don’t see a comparable national interest at stake in scrubbing Tyre’s criminal record. Interesting that just a decade ago or so Mr. Lind was a typical “house liberal” of the NYT variety and similar outlets. More recently online political sites.
More or less a “squish” liberal who imagines a JFK fantasy world where as in the ancient days, Time Magazine and others doled out the Democrat Party line which seemed almost reasonable. After all, who didn’t love FDR?
Sort of like a liberal version the then still breathing “conservative” CIA asset William F. Buckley Jr.
Now he seems to have finally gotten wind of the Comrades, after years of their neo Marxist identity politics, which may not Be A Good Thing.
Being a well fed academic think tanker and an Official Intellectual (and open government worshiper), he’s finally getting wind of the modern Red Guards. Now doubting his wisdom…
These old fat White guys are no longer feted by the Obama led Democrat insiders and Biden string pullers. These old liberals weren’t “haters” and tried to use White arguments and logic. Sure they ridiculed their opponents, and embraced marginalizing Reaganite working class conservatives, but they simply didn’t hate enough.
So now “viewing with alarm” and baffled by who these feminist/nonbinary/Green religionist Marxists really are.
Too little, too late.
I don't think that's quite so. Lind, although he started as a neo-con, has been anti-immigration for at least the last 30 years on economic and Nationalist grounds. As far as I know he has never wavered from that position. If, as commenter Thirdtwin memorably described Klaus Schwab recently as "the Hillary Clinton of Henry Kissingers", Lind may be said to be "the Pat Buchanan of William Kristols."

It’s funny though that this only cuts one way – if your departure from objectivity in a rightward direction (let’s say that “your truth”, based on your “lived experience” is that climate change is not real), they are going to pull the “follow the science” gambit on you before you can finish your sentence.
It’s really quite obvious that reporters are more Leftist (and less smart) than ever so they are going to have trouble dealing with the idea that they are supposed to be objective professionals. How could something like the question of whether Donald Trump is EEEVIL possibly have two sides to it?
“Everyone” knows that he is EEEVIL and there’s no use pretend that he is not or that the opinions of white racists have any validity.
Maybe it’s better that way. If people had understood that Walter Cronkite was just another partisan NY Leftist hack and not the Voice of God, when he pronounced anathema on America’s effort in Vietnam, people might not have bought into it. It’s time to rip off the mask.
When the Washington Post tells you something, from now on you don’t have to accept it as objective truth – even they are no longer pretending that what they are telling you is the objective truth. If it’s a story about blacks, look at the byline of the reporter and if she is black, consider what she is writing in the context of Downie’s piece.
That’s the thing about credibility – once you have lost it, it’s very difficult to get it back. People have a hunger for objective truth so if the MSM is no longer even pretending to sell you the objective truth (hey, what is objective truth anyway – it’s just something that white people made up) people are going to look for the real thing elsewhere. If they wanted a subscription to the Daily Worker or Muhammad Speaks, they would have signed up directly.

Thanks for the free psychoanalysis (the breadth of your talents is quite breathtaking — law, psychology, aeronautics…) but as it happens, getting hurt by cops isn’t something I ever worry about.
Cops arrest hundreds of thousands of people a year and no one gets hurt 99.9% of the time. Anyone who flees, thinking that’ll reduce his chance of getting hurt, is an idiot and/or impulsive — exactly the profile of the kind of young men who tend to get into the most trouble.
Anyway, the truth will come out if there’s a trial; we can reopen this discussion then.

As a high-school student, I was about as nerdy as they come: I had been valedictorian in junior high and eventually became high-school valedictorian. I had no desire to be an athlete, but of course we all had to take phys-ed.
My sophomore year in PE, our PE teacher happened to be a young guy fresh out of the Marines -- on the face of it almost my exact opposite. But for some reason we got along well.
On one occasion for the PE test, we were supposed to climb a rope up to the rather high ceiling of the gym. I glanced up, turned to the coach, and told him that of course I could not do it. He smiled, acknowledged that maybe I could not, but told me that he would personally really appreciate it if I would give it my best shot.
And of course I made it all the way to the top, to my own amazement.
The point being that, of all the kids in my high school, I may have been the least likely to care whether a teacher was male or female, whether I could prove to the coach that I was a real man, etc.
But even in my case, this ex-Marine knew how to get me to go beyond what I thought I could do.
We're just not supposed to say this, but the truth is that almost all young males can be much more influenced and motivated by authoritative adult males, especially adult males who can exhibit physical strength, than by adult females.
In some sense, it really is not fair. But it is reality. And we better face up to it.
Black men kill each other with gleeful abandon on Chicago’s West and South sides and no one says “boo!” The outrage over this unfortunate incident is hypocritical.
Good article – if it really means that much to liberals to have quality, diverse cops then they have to forget about lots of blacks in the fire department, or law firms, or business school, etc.
It would be nice if Republicans actually started doing what most people want, which is to propose tougher sentences for criminals instead of restrictions on police. But instead you have Tim Scott out there trying to get police reform done again.

With a society that is filled with responsible people, you can crack down on the irresponsible people with initiatives like what Giuliani did in New York. Now, of course, we often don’t. But the point is that you can.
In Memphis, you have two choices: allow criminals to get away with crime, or create a corrupt law enforcement agency that may not be any better.
Progressives win a lot of arguments because they talk about progress as a linear process. There was an article on Unz recently that talked about how California is an example of how a multicultural society can work well. Therefore, everywhere should be like California.
Maybe. But California is an outlier; portions of the wealth of the entirety of the West flows to California due to its inherent advantages. Most places can’t be like California, and even California probably can’t be California if the prosperity of the West falters.

You may already be familiar with the Claritas LLC segmentations of American society by ZIP code, but since I can't find any references to Claritas, PRZM, or related terms when I search your work on UNZ, and since their findings may be of interest to some readers, I thought I'd send two links. The firm codified many of the classic nicknames for types of neighborhoods, some of which you've probably heard from marketers or pollsters -- "Blueblood Estates" or "Kids and Cul-de-Sacs", and less genteel classics like "Norma Rae-ville" or "Shotguns and Pickups", which can still be found but now require a bit more digging. Their breakdown of 38126, the poorest ZIP code in Memphis, currently yields the euphemized terms "Family Thrifts", "Park Bench Seniors", "Lo-Tech Singles", "New Beginnings", and "Striving Selfies". Still, despite the wokewashing, the discoveries live on.
Here's their ZIP code looker-upper:

Maybe I’m dumb but I don’t understand their group names. I looked at my zip and the groups that they listed included Upper Crust (Wealthy Mature w/0 Kids), Movers & Shakers (Wealthy Older Mostly w/o Kids) and Gray Power (Wealthy Mature w/0 Kids). Isn’t this 3 different ways of saying “older rich white people”? As a whole, this is basically accurate but they seem to be making distinctions without a difference.
If you click on the subgroups, they give further defining traits. For example, Upper Crust “Owns a Lexus and Eats at California Pizza Kitchen” while OTOH, Movers and Shakers Owns a BMW and Eats at PF Chang’s ” How is this at all edifying? If I trade my BMW for a Lexus, am I now in a different group or did I just get a better lease rate or read the latest JD Power quality ratings? What if I prefer Mercedes? What if I avoid eating at shitty chain restaurants entirely?
I understand how it would be useful to slice and dice the population. If I was trying to sell Kia’s, a mailing to my zip code would be mostly a waste of $. But it seems to me that they have sliced and diced a bit too finely.

If you are going to do some armchair analysis of black culture, you should focus on the criminals here (i.e the cops), not the victim. Tyre didn’t ask to be kicked to death. The fact that he cried out for his mama in his last conscious moments had nothing to do with why he was kicked to death because he wasn’t doing the kicking. In fact it is nothing but sad and heartbreaking (and I don’t agree that a white boy might not have the same last words). Nothing in a victim’s culture or upbringing or criminal history or whatever has any relevancy so what is the point of analyzing it in relation to him. It’s just another form of victim blaming.
Likely few do, perhaps by the blue moon, a crazed masochist makes the request.
"The fact that he cried out for his mama."
I find nothing unusual in this; not out of the realm for someone in extreme distress. Could be a little more to it in this case:
"Suspect Tyre Nichols' mother, Rowvaughn Wells, of 6743 Castle Gate Ln 38141, made the scene and advised that suspect Trye Nichols went out with friends, and she believes that they may have spiked his drink."
Is there a tox report?
After Trye assaulted someone prior the videoed stop (unsure as to who that was, another cop, or....?) he then proceeded to:
"…Nissan with Tennessee tag BJL2458 travelling at high speed…drove into oncoming traffic on East Raines Road…"
Good thing no innocent was killed, who knows what mayhem might have occurred had police not apprehended him.
Ya know if perps treated cops with the same respect/fear they show towards their bookies or drug dealers, there well could be five more cops out there serving on the mean streets of Memphis. Instead, there'll be a city a few million poorer, and a half dozen lives wrecked: to what end?
In short, the Yankee WASP made the Negro the Scared Cow Numinous Negro in order to wage culture wear against the South and Southerners, which would morally justify all the dead in
'the Civil War' as well as all the theft by regional elites during Reconstruction.
And then as Irish were the primary foundation of the world's first truly professional place force in NYC, cops had to become bad, because surly they existed just to harass the dusky hued angels. If not, then the basis of the NYC PD would have been black.
And so America's actual race war, white elites using Negroes as weapons and tools against the whites they hate and fear, or just find icky, not only has been never ending but now has been made global.
After all, holding the power they do is because Massa Lincoln done freed them slaves and pleased God mightily.Replies: @Ron Mexico, @Charles Erwin Wilson
Equally at the heart of Irish Catholic discontent was the WASP practice of paying the $300 draft replacement fee. I think John Fogerty wrote a song that might apply.

Isn’t there some new “Sailer’s Law” we can glean from this affirmative action debacle? It could be useful, because lordy lord lord, the black bodies are piling up like never before, along with the least media coverage of the slaughter.
As far as the wokiest reasoning, it seems like they believe that it’s better to give meritless blacks jobs, that require merit to avoid needless deaths, for optics to support their false public claims about race being a social construct, even though the targeted minority suffers mortally, and in great numbers from their scheme, since black people, they presume, don’t reason or feel pain like non-blacks do.
Additionally, they can be easily fooled into supporting a political party that has decimated their numbers, and death is a cultural component of theirs to be taken for granted.
This keeps progressive maniacs in power, while keeping black numbers down.
It’s a pretty dark way to live a life, but the wokists have managed to make it work… for now.

Well, I suppose one way to look at it is to say you only get one good lie in those circumstances. Using it at the outset to dismiss the efficacy of masks, and then to shortly thereafter reverse it wasn’t a particularly good use of that lie, the ethics of lying to adults to get them to do something you want them to do aside. Once the credibility and ability to persuade is shot, you’ll naturally need to resort to ever more coercive means to yield the desired behavior.
What percentage of the population will lock down for ten days to “stop the spread of Airborne Ebolarabiesaids?” It would seem to me rather elementary that “public health” concerns not just science, but an understanding of human behavior and how to communicate health advice reliably to the public in such a way as to modify people’s behaviors in a manner salutary to their health.

Certainly black culture is completely dysfunctional in every measurable way. And certainly the black matriarchy is part of the dysfunction.
But there’s the issue of causation: is the matriarchy a cause or an effect of black dysfunction? Or, does the black matriarchy have nothing to do with black dysfunction at all and is rather just the default way blacks organize their communities?
For whatever reason -- genetics, culture, the heritage of slavery, continuing discrimination, or whatever -- there has always been some level of dysfunction in the Black community.
But the patronizing behavior of White liberals (and, yes, "Conservatives") has made it much, much worse.
If we accepted brutally evil behavior on the part of young White males in the way that we do tolerate such behavior by young Black males, then White neighborhoods too would become unlivable.

It’s the most routine thing in a world when a man, white or otherwise, is injured in combat. I’d say getting beaten to death is pretty similar to most combat situations, and it’s unsurprising that Tyre would behave in a typical way.
People say stupid shit here all the time but it always bugs me to see gross misunderstandings of human nature.
My point was it is odd for a man 29 years old to repeatedly cry out that.
Yes, solders in combat, injured or dying, say that also. But most of those are very young, anywhere from 17-24. At that age "mama" is often the significant female in his universe.
For an older male, that tends to fade and get replaced. However in father absent black matriarchal culture the "mother" figure remains paramount.
The black (Black!) cops didn't seem to care about this anyway. At this juncture there is no reported motive for this murder being offered. Seems to be either vastly displaced anger over something else, some kind of group frenzy, or perhaps some personal motive by one of the "Scorpions" which has yet to be revealed.
When cops go bad, it's often quite bad. Recently in the Houston area a former suburban town cop was finally sentenced to death for hiring a hit man to kill his wife. The evidence was conclusive (hit man already in prison) but endless appeals have stalled this for years.

Interesting that just a decade ago or so Mr. Lind was a typical “house liberal” of the NYT variety and similar outlets. More recently online political sites.
I don’t think that’s quite so. Lind, although he started as a neo-con, has been anti-immigration for at least the last 30 years on economic and Nationalist grounds. As far as I know he has never wavered from that position. If, as commenter Thirdtwin memorably described Klaus Schwab recently as “the Hillary Clinton of Henry Kissingers”, Lind may be said to be “the Pat Buchanan of William Kristols.”

2) Are there any blacks defending the cops on the grounds of “That’s what you have to do sometimes with these N’s”? Sort of a Pastor Manning approach to one’s own kind??
3) the problem of finding enough cops, be they white or black, is always going to be a question of, “what margin of error are you willing to accept?”. (Mainly due to the available of video + cat ladies viewing same).
4) If I were recruiting police, I would require a strict psychological screening to make sure that you didn’t have people who were “red on yellow snake” crazy and sadistic. And as long as the cop is psychologically balanced you can just assume in most cases if he has the beat or shoot a suspect it was probably necessary or at worst a lapse in judgment which should not be punished through anything more than being busted down a little.

I assume all the cops were black then for the black areas, at least in the south.
In segregation times, there weren’t many black policemen. Black parts of town were lightly policed.
The white policemen overlooked a lot of black crime, as long as the crime stayed in black neighborhoods.
Interesting to read Riley repeat what Steve has pointed out many times – that crime soars following a well-publicised killing of a suspect by police. The view is backed up by academic research, by Tanya Devi and Roland Fryer of Harvard University. Above all, increased crime does not simply follow the death of a suspect or its investigation, but occurs only if there is “viral” coverage in the national media followed by investigation of an entire police department.
The research paper mentioned by Riley appears to be this one:
https://www.nber.org/papers/w27324
which states:
Prof. Roland Fryer is a star economist at Harvard; and he is allowed to depart from the approved racial narrative because he is black. I expect he would be very interested in Steve’s findings about traffic fatalities.
In short, the Yankee WASP made the Negro the Scared Cow Numinous Negro in order to wage culture wear against the South and Southerners, which would morally justify all the dead in
'the Civil War' as well as all the theft by regional elites during Reconstruction.
After all, holding the power they do is because Massa Lincoln done freed them slaves and pleased God mightily.Replies: @Ron Mexico, @Charles Erwin Wilson
As Victor Davis Hanson pointed out, the way to curtail the unwarranted power of the deep state is to reassign every FBI/CIA/NSA/DoJ/DoD employee to another federal agency (using randomization) where they keep their GS status, but cannot abuse the American people. Take the people replaced from those other agencies and plant them where the thugs were. Repeat the process on the same cycle as congressional elections. Then move the Fed offices from the east coast to the center of the country. Make the Fwerps get away from DC or get out of the government.
Of course, it should be coupled with prohibitions for firearm possession for all of them as Federal Employees. If you are a Fed, you get a billy club and a smiley face button. But no guns, no mace, no tazers, and no body armor.
I assume all the cops were black then for the black areas
You must be rather young. Your assumption that segregation-minded people would have the percentage of black policemen on their police force proportional to the percentage of blacks living in their town reflects that. That assumption is late 20th century.
Old-time segregationists, almost by definition, were not interested in that kind of fairness.
In general, before the 1960’s there was much less volent crime in America, so law ‘n’ order and policing was a less salient issue. That’s also something to consider.

There are other times when DoJ investigations into police departments don’t hurt might even help: when there is statistical evidence of a problem over a reasonable period of time. For example, the Albuquerque police department was shooting a lot of people, but the national media didn’t care because there are so few blacks in New Mexico.

I viewed a video of the Tyree Nichols beating yesterday. It is really difficult to tell what happened. I made the following observations after just one viewing.
1. Nichols tried to run away from the cops. While it is true he did not try to attack any of them, it looks like he was physically resisting arrest and had something to hide. Does anyone know if he had past troubles with the law?
2. It looks like the five cops who attacked Nichols did not handle him as brutally as the L.A. Four beat down Rodney King. They didn’t seem to beat him as much. Could Nichols have been on drugs that might have exacerbated his condition?
Theoretically, the Soviets had a huge intelligence advantage during the Cold War too and it availed them not because they didn’t have the ability to act on it because their system sucked so badly. Chances are the Russians had a lot of intelligence on the Ukrainian Army when they invaded (or at least PAID for a lot of intelligence) and that didn’t help them (much) either.

But of course.

As a high-school student, I was about as nerdy as they come: I had been valedictorian in junior high and eventually became high-school valedictorian. I had no desire to be an athlete, but of course we all had to take phys-ed.
My sophomore year in PE, our PE teacher happened to be a young guy fresh out of the Marines — on the face of it almost my exact opposite.
We’re just not supposed to say this, but the truth is that almost all young males can be much more influenced and motivated by authoritative adult males, especially adult males who can exhibit physical strength, than by adult females.
In some sense, it really is not fair. But it is reality. And we better face up to it.

It was not this bad — not nearly this bad — when Sailer and I were young kids.
For whatever reason — genetics, culture, the heritage of slavery, continuing discrimination, or whatever — there has always been some level of dysfunction in the Black community.
But the patronizing behavior of White liberals (and, yes, “Conservatives”) has made it much, much worse.
If we accepted brutally evil behavior on the part of young White males in the way that we do tolerate such behavior by young Black males, then White neighborhoods too would become unlivable.
Adolescent and young adult males are high-energy, risk-taking, boundary-challenging beings in all races and ethnic groups.
I was about as restrained and well-behaved as an adolescent kid can be, and, yet, I still recall a few damn-fool things I did.

Near as I can tell, all the water is just to cool everything down enough to where the batteries burn themselves out without setting anything else on fire. There was a story of some burning Tesla that they used close to 30,000 gallons on. Luckily, it wasn’t in California, so no Fairy Shrimp were harmed. Based on the doomsday messages from Gov. As social standards have declined in the wake of the Holocaust Narrative, the need for tougher policing has gone up at the same time that (((society's))) tolerance of errors in judgement by police has thinned. (Mainly due to the available of video + cat ladies viewing same).
4) If I were recruiting police, I would require a strict psychological screening to make sure that you didn't have people who were "red on yellow snake" crazy and sadistic. And as long as the cop is psychologically balanced you can just assume in most cases if he has the beat or shoot a suspect it was probably necessary or at worst a lapse in judgment which should not be punished through anything more than being busted down a little.Replies: @Steve Sailer
I knew a guy who flunked out of Rice so he applied to become a cop. The police psychiatrist asked why he wanted to be a cop. He said the pay was pretty good. The shrink took his glasses off, rubbed his eyes, and said, “That’s the sanest answer anybody’s given me this month.”

Greta Handel asked me:
I don’t know.
In the article I linked to, Lind does attack the younger Bush for his attempts at:
But I do not know if Lind has commented on the US proxy war in Ukraine.
Two general points:
First, Lind is an old-fashioned New Deal liberal. I am not — I am a radical Jeffersonian, more or less a libertarian.
And there are several other horrific things happening — the attempt to erase human biology, the diversity-inclusion-equity scam, etc. And then there is the Covid scam, the open borders, the global-warming scam, the collapse of our education system, etc.
But, beyond these immediate threats, I think it is important to look at the underlying cause that ties these all together. And that underlying cause is that the ruling elite — what I call the “parasitic verbalist overclass” — is completely out of touch with reality and truly hates their fellow citizens, especially those who deal with material reality.
Lind has been pretty good at exploring that underlying problem, and, for that reason, I think he is important.

We have tremendous reason to come together and fight this evil elite and their death religion, which is exactly why the wurlitzer is churning out “attack your neighbor” 24/7. He effectively disapproves of the Ukrainian adventure given what he says about W (same players same logic same crimes).
“For example, I’m one of the few who point out that all the data show that America has a big problem with black violence.”
The MSM has pointed it out for years. What you fundamentally disagree with are the causes.
“In contrast, the conventional wisdom starts with simpleminded racist bigotry: Whites are the Bad Race and blacks are the Good Race.”
That’s a strawman, Mr. Sailer.
“But as I wrote during the first week of 2020’s Mostly Peaceful Protests:”
We’ve been over this before. You say you love data. Put your alleged expert pattern recognition skills to the test to bolster your case.

https://acleddata.com/2020/09/03/demonstrations-political-violence-in-america-new-data-for-summer-2020/
Mine the data. Clearly define terms and criteria. Establish how many BLM protests were violent and murderous, along with how and why each protest met that criteria, and how overall these protests are directly linked to the Ferguson Effect and racial reckoning.
And here is a useful database.

“For example, it’s unsurprising that 2020’s surge in bad driving by blacks””
And whites. And Hispanics. And especially those in big Ford and RAM trucks. But not Jews.
And the reality, iSteve, is that the police did NOT “back off” to arrest blacks for bad behavior.

Thanks for the thoughtful reply. But I’ll pass on your recommendation.
Any public intellectual whose dissidence never threatens – now – Raytheon or Pfizer effectively serves and is therefore part of the Establishment.
I can learn a lot more here talking with people like PhysicistDave.

You mean blacks will take us whites to a new country, provide us free housing, food and health care, and where our descendants will be 100 times better off than if we had stayed here? Sounds good.
Saint Tyre will be avenged! The incel yt puppet masters who are the TRUE killers will be exposed in due time!!!
Frankly, I don't really trust the cops in my town either. I stay away from them, and from the people who get the police calling on them.

The latter of which is being driven too hard and is suffering from variations of "fierce drag queen tranny" crew like the black sailor who set fire to what in other navies would count as one of their biggest carriers or thereabouts, but on the other hand nuclear attack and non-nuclear missile subs have a hard floor of competence or you start losing them in the normal service of a blue water navy like our's. I do worry we're said to have only a thousand Mark 48 torpedoes as of 2001, but that's quiet enough to ruin a lot of ships if the subs can get there in time. "Everyone has a plan until they get punched in the face." What were people saying about Russia before the start of the "special military operation?" The PRC under Xi ... confused is not a bad word for the real world results of that not so great helmsman.
Taking Taiwan by force is not an easy prospect if you want to seize anything more than rubble at the end of it. That is, there are schemes to beat it down with IRBMs which the PRC has been building and emplacing for a very long time, or even nukes, followed by paratroopers, but an opposed amphibious assault has a lot of constraints for that island including only a few suitable beaches and periods in the year when the weather cooperates. The will and competence of both major combatants has not been tested in so many decades we really don't know how this might play out.Replies: @HammerJack, @HammerJack

OK, that was an expert smackdown! Props.
Right, because we know that Zelensky is a saint, and therefore would never sully himself with prostitutes. Oh really? Whom does Zelensky court? Are they virtuous Americans? Even a Philadelphia Lawyer, such as you, Jack, cannot restore the virginity of the whores in Congress. And there is no greater whoremonger than Zelensky.

Political humor without the humor is just politics.
No, I’m not “victim blaming” here as another commentator says. There is no shame for someone being seriously hurt to cry for his “mama.”
My point was it is odd for a man 29 years old to repeatedly cry out that.
Yes, solders in combat, injured or dying, say that also. But most of those are very young, anywhere from 17-24. At that age “mama” is often the significant female in his universe.
For an older male, that tends to fade and get replaced. However in father absent black matriarchal culture the “mother” figure remains paramount.
The black (Black!) cops didn’t seem to care about this anyway. At this juncture there is no reported motive for this murder being offered. Seems to be either vastly displaced anger over something else, some kind of group frenzy, or perhaps some personal motive by one of the “Scorpions” which has yet to be revealed.
When cops go bad, it’s often quite bad. Recently in the Houston area a former suburban town cop was finally sentenced to death for hiring a hit man to kill his wife. The evidence was conclusive (hit man already in prison) but endless appeals have stalled this for years.
You would think they would know better, but no…
Speaking of DoJ investigations, as well as Congressional inquiries…
What say you, the rule of law and law and order man?
Biden was told about the Chinese balloon on 1/28. Reports, perhaps false, say he wanted to shoot it down but was talked out of it by DoD.
