Amid Violence, Factions and Messages Converge in a Weary and Unsettled Baltimore

A couple of the young men wore bandannas to hide their identity. The young men identified themselves as members of the Crips, Bloods and Black Guerrilla Family street gangs. One of the Crips members, who called himself Charles, wearing a red Chicago Bulls Derrick Rose T-shirt, said the gang members had taken to the street because “there is only so far that you can push people into a corner.”
“We’re frustrated,” he continued, “and that’s why we’re out there in the streets.”
Then he described how he and some Bloods had stood in front of black-owned stores to protect them from looting or vandalism. He said they had made sure no black children, or reporters, were hit by rioters. They pointed them toward Chinese- and Arab-owned stores. Charles said Mr. Gray had brought gangs together.
“I rolled over here on a truck, and I was the only Crip and everybody else was Bloods. And they didn’t do anything to me. We’re together in this.”
The Democrats’ coalition isn’t quite the seamless demographic juggernaut that’s it’s widely assumed to be. Without the nonstop climate of hate for Straight White Men to hold the Dems together, it’s basically The Black Party.
But what could possibly go wrong?

The Democratic Party has always been a minority coalition party. The previous minority coalition was organized around being anti-northern WASP, and that coalition dominated for decades.
This seems to be a structural configuration of democratic politics – a general majority faction vs. a minority coalition faction.
The democrats have traditionally been an identity politics coalition, but in recent times have become organized around a vice optimization program. The provenance goes back a very long way, but the net for the present is whatever destroys the institutions that limit the state must be marginalized and eventually suffocated.
The democrats' faith-based holy war is a relentless campaign to realize "everything within the State, nothing without the State, and nothing against the State."
Otherwise, how can you make sense, e.g., of the demand that the First Amendment requires that pornography is protected speech, and may not be regulated by state, but political speech (which was intended to be protected speech) may be subject to whatever idiotic idea John McCain spews after being 'educated' by his 'betters'.
Really, indulging your appetites without bound must be protected, but protecting yourself from the tyranny of of a pervasive State is a crime again humanity!
There is no boundary limiting the left/prog/democrat coalition, and vice is a powerful organizing principle (if you doubt, just ask Satan). That's the bad news. The good news is that dishonesty, deception, smoke and mirrors cannot mask the evil forever. The left’s current coalition isn’t likely to hold together forever. For starters, the blacks of the Democratic party have been able to ride shotgun while white elites run the party. Now that Hispanic voters are rising in importance – both in sheer numbers and economic power – not to mention they aren’t nearly as cheap of a date, the black political class is going to be forced into the back seat. It’s going to be a fight, and hopefully it gets ugly.

Goldblatt would later tell the world that she was trying to stop the woman from stealing the *man’s* purse (a multitude of video and pictures prove that she was not just wrong, but lying).
Sorry, but I wonder if that picture doesn’t tell us everything about the power dynamics in this country. Black people do have agency and will face social consequences, but I don’t think it’s fair they bear the whole brunt.

Jews may help fund national Dem candidates, but they aren’t a glue for the O coalition. That was pretty obvious during the Democratic National Convention in 2012, when the O coalition loudly booed a boilerplate resolution about Jerusalem.

If you listen to the end, you get to hear a rude black man drive a female Asian store clerk close to tears.
Likely, this socio-economically disadvantaged man didn’t eat breakfast, so poor nutrition is to blame for his micro-aggression.

A few years ago a study came out saying that about half of the country has a negative view of African Americans. Which makes sense because 40 percent of the country is Conservative, the other 10 percent are probably Moderates who are race realists.

Good analogy, kind of like greasers were a ready-made gang lifestyle that you could start up anywhere. The VL’s and GD’s do seem to “patch over” (to use a biker gang term) the best prospects out of Bloods and Crips in some areas- cops around here have told me that the former require convert sets to go through probationary periods that can go on for a couple of years. The high tide of the European left has passed, they succeeded in creating a massive welfare state, and it has gradually receded. Conservatism Inc. in the US praised Sweden's previous "right-wing" government. In the US, and perhaps Canada, there is no existential threat to the left. Even if Jeff Sessions was elected President next year with a GOP Congress, and magically halted all immigration, the minority population is still going to become a majority and damn us to Third World status. Much more social engineering that even Israel has not done, will be needed, if not Balkanization and Reconquista Blanca.

Once I rehabbed an affordable housing community where most of the residents were black and nearly all of the workers were Hispanic (mostly Central American). To put it mildly, each group was not very complimentary of the other…and from a political standpoint, most blacks know very well who pays the price of mass illegal immigration even though much of the black political professionals go along with the Democratic Party line on this subject. And why not – the same black politicians get elected and the Dems can rely on a level of political loyalty that makes a Golden Retriever look faithless.

Some half-Injun kid saw the movie and was telling the whole class about it.
I did see it later. There was something not right about the movie. Too many white gangs. From my observation, the power thugs were mostly black. The idea of white gangs roaming the city was outlandish.
I later found out that Warriors were meant to be all black or something but Hill was pressured to make it more white to pull in the audiences.
Or maybe Hollywood thought all-black gang would send the wrong message. It’s like Taxi Driver changed it from a black pimp to a pimp who looks like half-breed Injun pimp.
School violence and street violence was so totally dominated by black thuggery that the idea of tough whites running around cities would have seemed ridiculous to most people like myself who knew the reality.
One thing the movie got right. After Cyrus is shot, white gang members attack the black dude but get beat up. The black guy is brought down by other blacks. That is very realistic.

I was going to post this same interview. He actually used that as an example of why looting that store was justified. Being upset that a store won’t just front you some clothes until payday is mind blowing and delusional.

The movie was based on a Sol Yurick novel by the same name published in 1965. The Warriors were all black Puerto Ricans in the original story. It’s a good read and offers a much more realistic portrayal of urban youth gangs.

Yes, the US follows and seeks to influence its allies internal and external affairs in detail, as that big leak of State Department emails demonstrated. That our European allies have no separate policies is obvious to anyone who bothers to look and think simultaneously, though. Whites weren’t always this scared of blacks. Back in the day, blacks could’ve never got away with this “Flash Mob” stuff.
If there were more Rocky Balboa types left in our large cities, blacks would behave better. That would be a good thing for both whites and blacks.
