School District Investigating ‘Abhorrent’ George Floyd Image Posted by Student

A football player posted the image, which superimposed two Virginia high schools’ logos on the faces of Derek Chauvin and George Floyd, to celebrate his team’s victory, according to the district superintendent.

Roanoke County Public Schools in Virginia is investigating a social media post that used a photo of Derek Chauvin kneeling on George Floyd to celebrate a high school football team’s win.

By Bryan Pietsch
April 6, 2021

A Virginia school district said it was investigating an image posted on social media by a high school football player that repurposed a photo of Derek Chauvin, the former Minneapolis police officer charged with murdering George Floyd, kneeling on Mr. Floyd’s neck to celebrate his team’s recent victory.

The doctored image, which the student posted after his team won a game on Friday, shows the Cave Spring High School logo superimposed onto Mr. Chauvin’s face. The logo of the losing team, Hidden Valley High School, was edited onto Mr. Floyd’s face.

And that’s the story.

Does the football player know that the cop who was kneeling on George Floyd’s shoulder was helping him, preventing him from harming others as well as himself? Not a competitive image; maybe this was an effort to create a meme about sportsmanship. 😉

But without the Times, where would we get groundbreaking stories like this one from the 2019 Marysville City Council race: Candidate Who Said Michigan City Should Be Kept White Quits Council Race ?

At a candidates’ forum on Thursday, the moderator asked whether the community should be more aggressive in attracting foreign-born residents. Ms. Cramer replied that Marysville should be a “white community as much as possible” with “no foreign people,” drawing audible gasps from fellow candidates.

Think about it. The Times is so desperate to find examples of overt white racism that a questionable comment by a candidate for minor office in a small Michigan town ranks as national news, despite the fact that it was rejected by everyone else in the room and ended her campaign.

I think a good definition of “bigotry” would be “an eagerness to believe the worst about the people you hate.” The eager willingness of the liberal media to accept Jussie Smollett’s preposterous story is an example of this on a major scale, but apparently no offense is too small.

  46. We are quickly getting to a point similar to the excesses of the McCarthy era.

Examples — young people would join a Communist organization, realize they were dealing with crazies, leave the organization and get blacklisted decades later.

Young people would join an organization they didn’t realize was a Communist front organization, realize they were dealing with crazies, leave, get blacklisted decades later.

It got worse. I read a report of a fellow who joined a liberal organization in NYC set up by Governor Smith (a Democrat) and Mayor LaGuardia (a Republican). The young man left the organization after a few years. Year later, the leadership of that organization was taken over by Communists. The now middle aged man was blacklisted.

My grandfather was one of the founders of an organization in NYC that was never a Communist front organization. But, years later, a Communist front organization in San Francisco was set up with the same name. My grandfather and the other leaders wound up disbanding the organization because they couldn’t convince a senator from Wisconsin that the organizations were separate. My father, who was never a member of an organization that no longer existed and had never been a Communist front organization, was blacklisted for 5 years.

We are now seeing the same snit. Mostly from the Wokerati. All someone has to do is a stupid kid stunt, or to criticize the wrong person, or whatever, and their lives are ruined.

Also some from the MAGA crowd. When Jeff Sessions was labeled a RINO and was essentially thrown out of the GOP, it became clear the right wing was going too far as well.

The fact that this is news solely because this guy was cast as the lead in Bridgerton because he was mixed race despite it making even less sense is lost on the LA Times. As is his status as the lead choice to play the replacement Black Panther (A lot of those Wakandan’s are played by fairly light-skinned mixed race people despite being completely isolated from the outside world) in Black Panther 2. Infact I’d say the attacks have as much to do with class as race but don’t hold your breath on what is left of the ‘left’ in post-modern America to understand this.

A_P_E, $161K is a good salary, plus benefits, for lots of public school TEACHERS here in WNY. The Buffalo School District Supts. make $250K plus benefits. The one before the current Supt. was given a car and driver by a local banker. Another recent Supt. was so lame tha NYS hired a mentor to guide her in her career. The Mentor hired three sorority sister friends to assist her, all at $100K plus.

James, there is a charity in my town that digs wells for the people of Sierra Leone. This is the Twenty First Century. Years ago a guy who worked for me dug a thirty foot deep well on his farm after his first well went dry. Dug by hand with a shovel and his live in girl friend pulling the dirt to the surface with a bucket and rope. Some people will always survive, some won’t. Stay safe.

Feminazis still claim women are paid less than men. If true, cheap still living at home workers is why the media is the way it is. I doubt that.
It’s orders from the wealthy White men who own the media.

White elites and wanna be elites really want to genocide the rest of us.

The entire Federalist Society shit their pants in unison. The whole “but we had to get rid of Trump!” back-rationalization isn’t fooling anyone, even themselves.

Imposter syndrome is entirely rational when you blew your prime getting drunk at Nationals games. Same with the brain geniuses who nominated him.

  86. This excerpt missed the last line of the NYT article which was pretty HILARIOUS >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>
“The image posted in Virginia last weekend was not the first to make light of the killing. In February, a valentine-like image of Mr. Floyd with the words “You take my breath away” circulated through the Los Angeles Police Department, prompting an internal investigation.”

Sorry NYT liars your new hero saint George OD

I’d never seen that one before in my life. I should have pulled up the page in another tab to do a check. Thank you, Vhrm.

Wow, that was exhausting. I expended much uncompensated emotional labor constructing that annoying, run-on sentence. But seriously, I saw someone right here on unz.com referring to the middle part of last year as FloydFest and wanted to share.

That wuz me! I thought someone might have heard of (our) FloydFest, and would smile at the comparison to the Great FloydFest of last year. Had no idea Roanoke would make the NYT. Even more impressively, Roanoke made iSteve.

Right. What we absolutely must be focusing on is the excesses of the McCarthy era.

  92. @Buffalo Joe

Biz Insider rates NY as having highest average, schoolteacher salaries in ‘18-‘19.

    $86K.

The thing about salaries offered to public school superintendents, and other government workers, is that there are no rational, economic bases for the figures.

It’s not as though a board will penalize its superintendent due how (of course) crappy the district schools are. Indeed, boards employ meaningless, political “performance” metrics in order to justify ever larger contracts.

I’m so sick and tired of seeing boards retain expensive, politically connected, executive recruitment firms to conduct nationwide searches purportedly to find the right candidates (clowns).

I see that error from time to time. Some rules of thumb.

    2. If you encounter an error during submission try reloading the page to see if your comment went through,
    3. If you submit the first comment and it does not appear don’t resubmit until you see at least one comment. There is a bug where in some cases the first comment does not show up.

This happens to me every time I put up a first comment.

“It’s OK to be white.” -> “IS it OK to be white?”

Lights. Camera. Action. Watch the humorless lefties spin. Humor is the most effective weapon against these people. They’ll condemn themselves, inch by inch, through their reactions. Does a way better job than any theoretical debates about values when you are dealing with people who have none, or at least nothing coherent.
