Niccolo Soldo interviews Mike “Gorilla Mindset” Cernovich:

The Dubrovnik Interviews: Mike Cernovich – The Greatest American Alive Today

On his many wild successes, being humble to a fault, how he won Trump the election, how God is like him, and chemically, salty discoveries

Niccolo Soldo
Jun 10

Niccolo Soldo: You are of Croatian stock like I am. Tall, violent, Balkan maniacs with a romantic sensibility. Your Croatian grandfather left Royalist Yugoslavia, and like many, chose to settle in the Chicago area. You paid homage to him by travelling to Croatia and getting in touch with your roots. How much of Gorilla Mindset comes down to having the blood of genocidal fanatics coursing through your veins? We punch well above our weight when it comes to sports, drywall taping, and annoying the fuck out of everyone on the internet with our incessant, jingoistic expressions of patriotism. Why are we so powerful, particularly sexually?

Mike Cernovich: I did a 23AndMe years and years ago before I realized they would be able to bioengineer a weapon to “suicide” me from my results. But that folly of a young man aside, it was revealed during this analysis that I have elite genetics for sprinting. When I trained BJJ, people would derisively call me “explosive.” Back then BJJ guys didn’t even lift and viewed any athleticism as a form of polluting the sport. Joe Rogan gets called racist for claiming a black athlete is “athletic,” but he would say the same of the many Croatian sensations, including the original Pat Miletich.

Earlier Dubrovnik Interviews include Mark Andreessen, and the Kinshasa Interview with Glenn Greenwald:

Soldo: Why are you gay?

Greenwald: When I was quite young, I observed that most of the straight boys were similar to you: obnoxious, uncouth, plagued with stunted emotional development, an unwarranted sense of ego, and a sociopathic lack of empathy, all topped off with very thinly veiled fascist tendencies. I set out determined to find a way to not to be that, and settled on gay. Also, my mother was extremely beautiful and I knew early on that no woman would ever measure up. Her name was Norma Bates. Finally, have you seen pictures of my husband?

  1. Kudos to the interviewer for asking Greenwald a straightforward question and to Greenwald for answering the question in a straightforward, manly, good-humored way.

He’s pretty decent for a Sodomite.

Somewhat O/T, get a load of this. Should be required viewing for all decent people everywhere, Sodomite or normal:

  2. Screwtape says:

I always thought cernovich was the puffpie and greenwald the toughguy.

So I was right all along.

  3. Muggles says:

Straightforward answers to blunt questions. Though I don’t know who Mike Cernovich is or why anyone is interested in him.

    Kind of refreshing.

  4. anon[307] • Disclaimer says:

what does this have to do with hitler and nazis?

  5. @Paperback Writer

You would fall for this. The existence of ‘humble’ and ‘Cernovich’ in the same paragraph, much less sentence, really should have tipped you off.

  6. So Glenn decided to become gay because he didn’t like the other boys and was fixated on his mother……

I do like Glenn but this does explain a lot.

  7. @AnotherDad

I don’t know either, but they’re funny on the internet, and occasionally interact with people I’ve heard of.

  8. I turn to Cernovich every day since he called the pandemic way earlier than anyone else. He is the only reason to go check a Twitter feed.

I wonder when he gets booted off.

  9. joe_mama says:

Cernovich got popular around 2015/2016 by picking Trump early and riding his coattails to a sizable Twitter following. Was in on the ground floor early of the modern alt-Right, and knew when to get out early as well. He continues on as sort of a poor man’s Joe Rogan. Shameless self-promoter (to be fair, that isn’t really a negative anymore). Zman had a descriptor of him as a “grubby Tony Robbins”.

Still, his Twitter feed is decent, he has a good pulse on politics and pop-culture. Keeps himself relevant.

  10. J.Ross says:

Greenwald and Turley have been my favorite legal commentators since the last Bush administration. Cernovich is relying pretty heavily on ethnic favoritism there.

    • Replies: @Chrisnonymous
  11. J.Ross says:

Glenn Greenwald is a lawyer who became a pro-Constitutional though leftist blogger during the 2000’s; he has done things with Snowden and offered substantive criticism of things like the USAPATRIOT act. Irrelevantly he’s gay and moved to Brazil. Relevantly he had all the testicles which were missing from mainstream right-wing commentators like Hewitt, Hannity, O’Reilly, etc, on January 7th, adamantly pointing out that the “insurrection” was harmless, the deaths were unrelated to the “violence,” that the “rioters” were allowed in by police, and that the government response is totally unwarranted.
Cernovich is a guy who can hold a lot of bubble gum in his mouth at once.

  13. At least Greenwald admits that homosexuality is a choice. Oh, he was joking?

He seems to have lost his way a bit in recent years, but definitely one of the better US journalists and commentators.

  14. Ralph L says:

    I don’t think that’s a tongue in Greenwald’s cheek, butt I sure hope Cernovich isn’t serious, either.

  15. Anonymous[970] • Disclaimer says:

Irrelevantly he’s gay and moved to Brazil.

His gayness is very relevant to his positions on things. Also, he adopts gay underage Brazilian boys and runs a foster home for them in a remote area of Brazil.

  18. Soldo is great, he’s totally worth a follow @progrockfarmer, and his interviews are aces. What a sense of humor.

Soldo interviewing Steve would be +EV for both. The interviews are obviously written, Steve could take his time answering and Soldo has a way of really humanizing his subjects while making them (and us) laugh. Let’s make this happen!

  19. You are of Croatian stock like I am. Tall, violent, Balkan maniacs with a romantic sensibility.

    Meh ….

  20. @Hangnail Hans

Here’s more, especially for you (and everyone else).

The media narrative continues to collapse.

For more than a year, it has been consecrated media fact that former President Donald Trump and his White House, on June 1 of last year, directed the U.S. Park Police to use tear gas against peaceful Lafayette Park protesters, all to enable a Trump photo-op in front of St. John’s Church. That this happened was never presented as a possibility or likelihood but as indisputable truth. And it provoked weeks of unmitigated media outrage, presented as one of the most egregious assaults on the democratic order in decades.

The IG’s conclusion could not be clearer: the media narrative was false from start to finish. Namely, he said, “the evidence did not support a finding that the [U.S. Park Police] cleared the park on June 1, 2020, so that then President Trump could enter the park.” Instead — exactly as Hemingway’s widely-mocked-by-liberal-outlets article reported — “the evidence we reviewed showed that the USPP cleared the park to allow a contractor to safely install anti-scale fencing in response to destruction of Federal property and injury to officers that occurred on May 30 and May 31.” Crucially, “the evidence established that relevant USPP officials had made those decisions and had begun implementing the operational plan several hours before they knew of a potential Presidential visit to the park, which occurred later that day.”

  21. The best Croatian emigre author is Tom Sunić, although he is, I think, too removed from reality & too ideological. I even voted for his party here, but they lost miserably.

But the real gem is this:

    Soldo: Why are you gay?

Greenwald: When I was quite young, I observed that most of the straight boys were similar to you: obnoxious, uncouth, plagued with stunted emotional development, an unwarranted sense of ego, and a sociopathic lack of empathy, all topped off with very thinly veiled fascist tendencies. I set out determined to find a way to not to be that, and settled on gay. Also, my mother was extremely beautiful and I knew early on that no woman would ever measure up. Her name was Norma Bates. Finally, have you seen pictures of my husband?

This is one of the weirdest things I’ve read of late. I don’t know many gays, but those who are homo-they cannot be otherwise. Some are sensitive married people with innate sadness because of … everything. Others are rather normal & healthy men I enjoy to be in company with, and one or two are real uber- “fascist” sociopaths.

So this Greenwald’s view is probably personally authentic, but very, very limited….

  22. Anon[280] • Disclaimer says:

Remember when President Obama went on the Marc Maron podcast, in a garage, to be edgey and show the younguns that he was a hepcat? I hope that President Biden’s advisors get him an interview with Niccolo Soldo. That would be great. It could go off (the rails) in so many directions. I assume these are via e-mail, unfortunately, but Biden might try to be sincere in his answers, or maybe his staff would take over and try to script hepcat sarcastic responses for Biden, who knows. But whatever happened, it would be classic.

President Trump has already demonstrated his mettle with his Ali G interview walkoff.

Soldo writes the questions and the answers. But he impersonates his interview subjects accurately enough that Greenwald retweeted his Soldo interview appreciatively.

    @Bardon Kaldian

Well, given the tone of the interview as a whole (full of playful semi-ironic insults/self-deprecation) Greenwald is probably not being entirely serious. Anyway, it makes sense that the quirk that made him gay relates to the quirk that estranged him from other boys, even if it wasn’t literally cause and effect.

  27. @J.Ross

Ed Buck is not a group of people. He was also a Republican until relative late in life.

Cerno is trying to put a brave face on it but Soldo paints him as excruciatingly (and a little unfairly) try-hard.

  29. Dubrovnik’s original Italian name was Ragusa. As in Paula Ragusa, a.k.a. Prentiss.

She and Dick Benjamin celebrate their 60th anniversary this year. Is that a film industry record?

  30. I’d love to see Cernovich go eight rounds with Floyd Mayweather … better still, with Logan Paul.

  31. Feryl says:

A lot of Republicans were pretty gay but typically closeted in the 80’s and 1990’s (liberal websites used to keep lists of outed gay Republicans), but for what it’s worth over the last 20 years the GOP has hemorrhaged support among the credentialed elite so maybe that’s why politically active gays have almost entirely moved to the Democrats by now. And gays are more trendy than straights, and since the New Deal the only time the GOP was remotely fashionable was under Reagan and Newt Gingrich.

Nowadays the elite aren’t F’ing around anymore. They really, really hate the GOP esp. after Trump (remember that the Dems buried Sanders, which the elite finds comforting and has inspired more loyalty to the Dems). In the New Deal era (circa 1930-1963) elites got along well with proles. In the previous Awokening of 1964-1980 they started to hold proles in contempt. From 1981-2003 they calmed down but still bought into Reaganite individualism. Since 2004 they’ve gone utterly mad.

  32. @Anonymous

His gayness is very relevant to his positions on things.

Do you mean that it is relevant, because his experience as a gay man informs his worldview?

Or do you mean that it is relevant, because it makes his views less valid?

Also, he adopts gay underage Brazilian boys and runs a foster home for them in a remote area of Brazil.

Which “remote area”? What is the foster home called?

I have known Nic on the Internet for 20 years, ever since the old Liberty Forum and Phora days. His forum was Salo, but it came under attack by doxxers and is mothballed at this point.

The good news is there are more Alt/Dissident/Reactionary Rightists out there, with solid middle and upper class careers and family lives, than people think.

  36. @dcthrowback

This should definitely happen, but I’m told Steve declined. Maybe he’ll change his mind.

  37. @J.Ross

  39. Wow! Who knew the DNA test could tell you your ancestors were elite sprinters? I thought a set of triplets exposed how they can’t even show you heritage correctly. Cernovich sometimes seems a bit loopy. Guess it happens when you want to have a mind of a gorilla.

  40. @Harry Baldwin

Not those who struggle to maintain their T-level. To Cerno’s credit unlike most Western Men at least he’s willing to struggle – and often wins! Could use a lot more like him.

He posted his parents’ wedding party pics when his dad (grandfather?) died. Comes from good people. Doesn’t make him immune from bad takes (obv no one is). See Dave Burge finally coming off the fence with a loud thud.

Cernovich writing cycle: solid political insight, UFC or boxing video, I’m the greatest political writer ever, shouldn’t drugs be legal, you guys should take drugs and do regular blood testing so you can live to 100, solid political insight, I’m suing the DOJ, half of my twitter followers are morons that I blocked, I’m probably the smartest person alive, rinse, repeat.

No, Greenwald definitely wrote his own responses to his interview. (I suppose he may have collaborated with the interviewer on some of the jokes.) I don’t know anything about Cernovich though.

    @Harry Baldwin

Isn’t gum a straight guy thing? Chuck Yeager chewed gum. Gum is often a go-to prop for an aloof protagonist.

  45. @Paperback Writer

The media narrative continues to collapse.

That’s not a “narrative collapse” — that’s a modified limited hangout coming way too late to make any difference. Note that Greenwald makes no mention of the previous arson attack on St. John’s by BLM/ antifa terrorists:

After they set the fire, the crazed mob of arsonists and other rioters attacked fire trucks as they approached the scene. Firefighters needed police support to gain access and fight the fire. Trump’s speech was intended to call attention to that virulently Christophobic terrorist assault on St. John’s, which was part of a string of anti-Christian hate crimes committed across the country by BLM/ antifa mobs last spring and summer:

On July 10, the Diocese of Brooklyn announced that a statue of the Virgin Mary at Cathedral Prep School and Seminary in Queens. According to the Catholic Register, security footage shows “an individual approaching the 100-year-old statue shortly after 3 a.m. Friday morning and daubing the word “IDOL” down its length.”

[That sounds like a typically… Black thing to do, right?]

The word “fire” appears only once in Greenwald’s piece — in a NYT tweet that mentions it in passing, and pretends that it was accidental. “Arson”? Yeah right. No way.

“Narrative collapse” would be something like: “President Trump spoke out against the BLM/ antifa terrorist attack on St. John’s, calling for peace, tolerance, and an end to these recurrent Christophobic arson attacks. A mob made up of the same terrorist insurrectionists responsible for the earlier hate crime attacked the President, but their assault was stopped using nonlethal means. No serious injuries were reported. No arrests were made in either the arson hate crime against St. John’s, or the attack on the President — and no investigation was conducted.”

  46. @Dave Pinsen

Thanks Dave. I had figured that out but it was kind of you to elaborate. And it proved my point: Greenwald really is a manly, good-natured sodomite!

(In my ideal society sodomites should be free to practice their vice, in a deep, dark closet.)

OP was referring to groups a few orders of magnitude bigger than that. Corollary being that doing as OP recommends facilitates being more active in going after the small gangs of actual perps instead of getting lost in the systemic.

  51. @J.Ross

Law is one area where the old neocon/National Review crowd still has commentary worth following. Andrew McCarthy is a good addition to Greenwald and Turley, although they put a lot of his stuff behind paywalls now.

Greenwald is an American Hero with balls of steel. He escaped to Brazil (no extradition treaty) and lives in exile, barely avoiding the fate of Snowden and Assange. When he first appeared on Tucker Carlson’s show, Tucker thanked him copiously and hailed his survival, almost bringing Glen to tears (insert gay stereotype joke here). It was an honest moment, Tuck acknowledging that Greenwald’s journalism had put him in mortal danger, and Greenwald himself appreciative that Tucker was giving him a mainstream forum, something denied him by his former colleagues on the left, cucks of the Mockingbird Media.

He will be suicided one day by the CIA, and he knows it. He is one tough little fruit.

According to Caddyshack’s director, Harold Ramis, “Everything we shot with Bill [Murray] in the movie was just him riffing. We just described the physical action and he made up the lines.”

Pretty impressive when you consider how incredibly funny Murray was in the film, particularly the “play through” scene in his character’s storage shed/home. He and Chevy Chase refused to speak to each other on the set, so all of that was ad libbed.

The film’s producer, Doug Kennedy, is/was presumably not Jewish.

Here is an article in Golf Magazine about the cocaine-fueled filming of Caddyshack:

    This is hilarious.

Niccolo and Donkey (Niccolo Soldo) has been bouncing around obscure web forums (Liberty Forum, the Phora, Salo Forum, etc.), for close to 20 years; more recently he has worked for Vice and other unsavory clickbait sites.

This is satire, people. It should have been obvious just from the over the top questions and answers; it is even more obvious if you know who Niccolo Soldo is and his internet history. He’s poking fun at himself and the people he is “interviewing.”

Can’t believe so many people taking this seriously.
