Woman overturns will to force parents to pay for reassignment surgery

August 8, 2020 — 11.30pmA trans woman who waged a decades-long battle with her conservative Jewish Orthodox parents to compel them to pay for her gender reassignment surgery has won a multimillion-dollar payout from her deceased father’s estate.
Jessica Joss was awarded $3.225 million by Victorian Supreme Court judge Elizabeth Hollingworth despite not being a named beneficiary in her father’s will and a foiled plot by Ms Joss to kill her father with a crossbow during a bar mitzvah celebration at her parents’ synagogue.

Her father, Peter Solly Joss, a Czechoslovakian Holocaust survivor and prominent Melbourne industrialist and property developer who died in 2017, had financially supported Ms Joss for most of her life but refused to pay for her gender reassignment surgery.
After a series of disputes that took place over several decades and spanned several continents, their relationship finally deteriorated in August 1999, when Ms Joss devised a plan to kill her father with a crossbow at a bar mitzvah.
It came after Ms Joss’ return from Tajikistan, where she had failed in an attempt to join the Northern Alliance in the fight against the Taliban

In her judgment, Justice Hollingworth found it was her father’s ongoing financial support of Ms Joss, 60, that meant he had a “moral obligation” to make allowances for her under his estate even though she was not a named beneficiary in his will.
“Notwithstanding Jessica’s behaviour, including her plans to kill him, Peter continued to support her financially. The weekly allowance that he provided from 1999 onwards was generous enough that she did not need to go and look for work,” Justice Hollingworth said.
“By continuing to support Jessica for all those years, Peter allowed her to become financially dependent on him, and to lose much, if not all, of her capacity for employment,” she said.
Justice Hollingworth also made specific provision in her judgment that the estate will provide $100,000 for Ms Joss’ gender reassignment surgery, the procedure her father had refused to fund his entire life. She also pointed out that some of Ms Joss’ behaviour seemed to be motivated by, or at least indifferent to, the hurt it caused her parents.
“She wanted to embarrass her family, publicly and privately, to punish them for not accepting that she was transgender,” Justice Hollingworth said. “She said in evidence that it was not her obligation to pay for her own surgery. This belief that her parents must pay for her surgery has become the obsession of her life for the past two decades,” she said. …
So the law will force the estate to pay because Joss is an official Victim.
At 30, she moved to the US and attempted to join the marines, but was unable to complete basic training due to a back injury.

She married and subsequently divorced a woman who was not Jewish. On both occasions her parents paid for many of her expenses and flew her home. By 1999, aged 40, Ms Joss had grown unhappy with her life.

The former Law is actually not unusual. Judges are agents of the state, which has an interest in ensuring that obviously nonproductive people do not end up as its wards, so judges will bend over backwards to find ways to force nearby private funders to support them.* As a taxpayer, you might appreciate this. As an estate settlor, you might not.
The latter "law" is just Judge Elizabeth Hollingsworth's late-onset SJWism. If the estate will fund an appeal, it might get that overturned.

Potentially the focus on limited aspects of the self, such as gender presentation or sexual attraction, is a necessity for some people in some moment and place, but I haven't noticed those, who have undergone such, passing through it, and ending with a greater sense of plenitude. Instead, at best, they see to have merely found a compelling and workable diversion.
Worse, the diversion is often far from neutral, and instead, entails blindingly obvious aspects of the diverted doing great violence to themselves. Society then steps in, and encourages them to continue 🤦🏼♂️
Having said that, if someone feels they need to only have sex with people of their own sex, or to commit to a public persona of them as the other gender, then I do recognise that they, in all probability, know their needs better than I know theirs'. I would just remind them that there is infinitely more to them than either who they choose to sleep with or skirts v. trousers.
The other reason for the correlation between hyper jocks and guys on the spectrum with transgenderism might be that both have weaker levels of empathy and thus don’t care as much about (Or aren’t as sensitive to) the opinions of others for which things like demanding others treat you like a woman and planning to kill your father with a crossbow might both stem.

On a more social level, it seems that transgenderism is a handy way to take certain people out of the gene pool. If you tell autistic people that the reason they feel so off is that they haven’t been sterilized and/or mutilated yet, you can “purify” the breeding pool quite quickly.
We ask, "How could these people even exist? They don't reproduce, so the genes for gayness can't replicate." We come up with explanations such as: "Having a gay uncle or aunt must provide some survival advantage to the nephews and nieces."
But if we turn it around, we'd see that homosexuality or transgenderism is Nature's way of ensuring that certain traits that they exhibit are eliminated from the gene pool.
This presumes that there is/are a complex of traits that go with or characterize homosexuality or transgenderism. Also, this supposes that the genes responsible for those traits are not uncommon and can pop up regularly.
We are building up mutational load with vaccines and antibiotics, cleanliness and prosperity. And we've been actively pushing dysgenics with welfare and female-careerism.
There is no substitute for a nation/civilization being able to hew to and enforce it's traditional civilization preserving norms and throw out/suppress the criminal and crazy.
And there is no substitute for eugenic fertility.
The nations that do those things will prosper and survive, those that don't will die.

Involvement in unpopular wars and long dull deployments to those far off places aren't good for recruitment that wasn't going in the right direction beforehand. As the native working class is displaced by immigrants, those communities will begin to make up a larger and more untapped source of new recruits. And, yes, (a) they operate regardless of the age of the claimant; and (b) they do operate on the basis of “expectation”, so spoilt by dad in his life is taken to mean “can expect to be spoilt when he passes”. Not sure why it matters, does the British military even have a mission anymore other than maintaining the fading inertia of tradition? The traditional mission of a military is to protect a nation from invasion and occupation, or conversely to inflict that on other nations. The Soviet Union is gone so the Red Army is not going to be blasting through the Fulda Gap and racing to the Channel. The policy of Britain’s rulers is to facilitate the invasion and occupation of the country by foreigners, therefore the defensive mission of a military is directly counter to government policy. On the offensive side of the traditional mission, the remaining military is too small, and staffed by too many people with other loyalties, to be able to carry out invasion and occupation of anyone above the level of Andorra.
This seems like an exercise in trying to maintain a military simply because there has always been a military, even if no one is quite sure what it’s for, so let’s go recruit someone or other. The quality of recruits has become irrelevant.

There is a recruitment crisis in the British army. Involvement in unpopular wars and long dull deployments to those far off places aren't good for recruitment that wasn't going in the right direction beforehand. As the native working class is displaced by immigrants, those communities will begin to make up a larger and more untapped source of new recruits. Whether it will work to attract more BAMEs than it will repel Englishmen is an interesting question.

Yep. People on the Right are really reluctant to admit just h0w much of a contribution Christians have made to our current social woes.
