Surprisingly, I couldn’t find any information on the crime; all the articles had to do with efforts to catch her. I did find a story about a woman “charged with Attempted Capital Murder of a Person Under 6 Years of Age for injuries suffered by her 19-month-old son.” Her name: Iris Rodriguez.

A 2012 study published by the Journal of Human Genetics found the majority of the current Mexican population (~93%) is mixed race to some degree, with Y-chromosome (paternal) ancestry of the average Mexican-Mestizo being predominately European (64.9%), followed by Native American (30.8%), and African (4.2%). It would appear that by their metrics they meet the definition of being WHITE.

Here's a project for someone: Look at the FBI Ten Most Wanted over time, and compare the racial make-up to the ratios in federal prison generally. My prediction (falsifiable) is that the black percentage will rise in the 60s and 70s as people start to take "shine killings" seriously and then drop off in the 90s as people again start wanting not to think about them.
