From the Washington Post on May 2, 2017 (keep in mind that the Washington Post building is 1,102 miles from St. Olaf College):
Protests erupt, classes canceled after racist notes enrage a Minnesota college
By Lindsey Bever May 1Following days of demonstrations against hate speech at a liberal arts college in Minnesota, the school has reached an agreement with student protesters.
St. Olaf College President David Anderson sent an email to students late Monday stating that the administration had agreed with the student-led group “Collective For Change on The Hill,” which interrupted a college forum earlier in the day to present administrators with their demands.
…. The students had been protesting racism at the school in Northfield, Minn., since the weekend, when a black student reported having found a note on the windshield of her car that read: “I am so glad that you are leaving soon. One less n‑‑‑‑‑ that this school has to deal with. You have spoken up too much. You will change nothing. Shut up or I will shut you up.” Students gathered Saturday night inside a student union building, sharing their own on-campus experiences with racism and chanting: “This ends now.”
The protests continued through Monday, when students were expected to boycott. Then the school administration canceled classes “so that we may have time for faculty, students, and staff to continue the discussions about racism and diversity on our campus,” St. Olaf spokeswoman Kari VanDerVeen said at the time.
The racist note was the latest incident in a series of similar expressions against students.
“It’s been something that’s been going on all year,” Samantha Wells, a senior who said she found the racist note, told fellow students during the weekend demonstrations, according to the Northfield News. “We’ve done so much digging and this stuff has happened for decades. There’s one thing that happens and it stops and then it happens again and then it kind of stops. I think the big message is we shouldn’t let this happen again. The administration needs to do something that stops it indefinitely.”
“We are protesting to help change the institutional structure that perpetuates racism here at St. Olaf,” she told The Washington Post in an email Monday afternoon.
Wells and her fellow protesters presented the college president with an agreement, which includes assembling an autonomous task force to research the topics raised by the students’ demands. Those demands include administrative changes, such as racial and cultural sensitivity training; a curriculum that encourages a racial awareness and inclusion; and a policy on racial threats and hate crimes. …
In an April 21 email to students, Anderson, the college president, compared the recent incidents to a form of terrorism.
“I am as angry and frustrated as you are at the repeated violations of our values and community norms by someone who defaces the campus with scrawled racial epithets,” Anderson wrote. “I would love nothing more than to discover who is responsible for these acts and to remove that person from our community.”
Anderson wrote:
“I say “that person” because I am pretty sure that this is the work of one or a small number of people. (It may not even be an Ole). This person uses the same modus operandi every time this happens; even the handwriting on the notes is similar from incident to incident.”
From the Minneapolis Star-Tribune this afternoon:
St. Olaf: Report of racist note on black student’s windshield was ‘fabricated’
School president made the revelation after first not disclosing the validity of the note but saying its author had confessed.
By Paul Walsh and Jennifer Brooks Star Tribune MAY 10, 2017 — 4:46PM
St. Olaf College’s president told the campus Wednesday that a fellow student confessed to writing a note with racist and threatening content and admitted that it was “fabricated” as an apparent “strategy to draw attention to concerns about the campus climate.”
I first heard the term “campus climate” while reporting on a hate hoax at Claremont McKenna in Southern California. I will admit that the climate in Northfield, MN isn’t as nice.
The revelation came in the second of two e-mails sent Wednesday to students by President David R. Anderson, who said in his first communication that the college “confirmed that this was not a genuine threat. We’re confident that there is no ongoing threat from this incident to individuals or the community as a whole.”
However, because of “many requests for more information,” Anderson said, he revealed the lack of racist intent behind the note, which black student Samantha Wells said was left on her windshield on April 29.
“We learned from the author’s confession that the note was fabricated,” the president said. “It was apparently a strategy to draw attention to concerns about the campus climate.” …
Wells, on social media early Wednesday afternoon, addressed the president’s disclosure. But it was unclear from what she wrote whether she acknowledges or denies being the note’s author.
“So, it looks like something made its way back to me in the investigation,” she wrote. “I will be saying it was a hoax. I don’t care. There is nothing more that I can do.”
The Star Tribune has yet to reach Wells for an explanation.
The Social Justice Jihadi racket is growing, but there are still not enough paid jobs in the field awaiting grads. If you want to stand out from the competition by being quoted in Washington Post as an expert on the campus climate of racism, well, maybe you just have to make something happen.
Commenter Publius chimes in:
“You have spoken up too much.”
The only way this would have been a funnier note is if it was written from the perspective that could only have been gained from reading the entire published works of TNC. Try this next time:
“We people who believe we are white are going to redline your black bodies out of town and deny your existence.”
But do blacks actually read Ta-Nehisi Coates?

RSS

This is so obviously fake. You really have to be pretty stupid to believe a genuine white racist would write something like this.
The same is now happening with the 'Russian Conspiracy' to help Trump and the Republicans keep Hillary from her rightful position as our maximum leader. Commenters on Fox News now seem to smirk involuntarily when they read stories of the Russian connections to the Trump team.
I think of myself as level headed. I certainly have grown deeply suspicious of all these manifestations of black hatred shown by unsigned notes by anonymous white racists. I can't be the only one who reacts this way.
With all the media outlets it has become very easy to start a spurious rumor but hoaxes have also become much easier to unmask. Maybe this gives us hope that in time we will have fewer of these loony and transparent hoaxes.
So this latest incident (windshield April 29) occurred after Anderson’s April 21 letter about other incidents. And the “agreement” came after the latest incident.
Ms Wells’s hoaxing needs a lot of work.
Maybe white kids should fabricate bad black behavior and racial threats to draw attention to the problems of black pathology.
But then, they don’t have to since such is all too common.
Blacks defame entire white community for self-aggrandizement as sacro-negroes.
But then, this mindset has been encouraged and enabled by PC climate.
Maybe it is time to lecture non-white kids of the evil of defaming whites.
Btw, what kind of bubble are these kids living in that they all flock to the next ‘hate hysteria’ without any trepidation when so many have turned out to be hoaxes. I guess truth and facts are censored within their safe space of willful self-deception.
Well knock me over with a feather. I am still waiting for a real campus hate crime.
St. Olaf should expel this moron, but they won’t.
Looking forward to the Washington Post editorial about how fake hate crimes are just another benefit of diversity.
I wonder if this counts Don Williams’s note too. As I understand it, some of the notes were handwritten, and some typewritten. Were they all hoaxed by the same person, or were there multiple hoaxers in on it?
It’s sad that we’ll probably never know.
“strategy”
Well then, nothing to see here.
Climate scientists should be studying these spontaneous persecution phenomena.
This line makes the fraud extremely obvious:

HOPPING MAD HONKIES IN ILL HUMOUR OVER ANTI-WHITE HATE HOAXES
The only way this could have been more obviously fake is if she had actually written “We don’t like how courageous you are!”.
Or if it had involved a noose, I guess.
“Darling I didn’t cheat on you, it was a strategy to draw attention to concerns about our marriage.”

“You have spoken up too much.”
Cf the scene in “The Believer” where the protagonist starts praising Jews to his klan meeting. These people are the self-destructing delusional bad guys from a Seinfeld episode.
For some reason, I follow a gay, conservative, black Yale alumnus on Twitter. He was #NeverTrump, but otherwise seems quite respectable, the bowtie-wearing sort.
Thinking back to that comment about the Claremont colleges, and the logic behind the SJW arms race among schools: Harvard, Yale, etc. could change the climate throughout academia by selecting respectable black applicants and not encouraging SJWism. Otherwise, if Yale blacks are getting offended by Halloween costumes, then there’s an incentive for black students at flyover colleges to do the same (and worse, like the recent murderer at UT).
‘Protests erupt, classes cancelled after racist notes enrage a Minnesota college’
Loki at the bright side. They’re getting their Viking spirit back.
We have to take our little victories where we can get them. A greater victory would be if they never went back, and the Assistant Professors of Microaggression and Cultural Appropriation Studies would actually have to go out and get useful employment.
It sounds nothing like anything from WN, which really, tends to be aimed at other whites e.g. AmRen posters.
the shark jump:
“Shut up or I will shut you up.”
So it’s safe to assume he isn’t removing the person from the St. Olaf community then. How far gone do you have to be not to assume these incidents are hoaxes from the start? Doesn’t this end up being worse publicity for them then saying something like, “a number of these incidents nationwide have been hoaxes, we aren’t changing anything or jumping to any conclusions until an investigation has been completed.”
Lot, you would think that after so many of these incidents have proven to be hoaxes, that some black student would publish a handbook on how to avoid detection when creating a hate hoax. You know things like, write left handed if you are right handed, or vice versa, use a real rope not a dog leash as a noose, don’t use your own poop (DNA) when drawing poop swastikas, avoid posting your hoax note where there is video surveillance . Hand it out when the freshmen register for classes.
It is selfish honky students, marinating in their own privilege, who are at fault. Look at it this way: They may not have written the note, but they invented the ballpoint pen that left the ink.
It’s getting harder and harder to prove that de white debbil is an abomination if he or she fails to commit sufficient numbers of abominations. These hate crime hoaxes wouldn’t occur if whitey committed his own; they just won’t carry their own racist water.
Thank God we have the mainstream media to prop up… uh… To keep alive hysterical obsession with white racism. Or at least white people. Or obsessions with white women.
Prog-leftism increasingly appears to be a psychological-emotional disorder. Time and again these incidents are perpetuated by individuals who crave to be victimized–to be a victim at the center of attention. Since the insults and torts against them (racism, bigotry, discrimination) only occur in their imagination, they fabricate these hoaxes.
There is a certain irony to these fabrications. These students have been schooled repeatedly–indoctrinated–that white America is bigoted, suffers from structural and institutional racism, and continues to discriminate against blacks (and other minorities)–and has done so for decades. That a cognitive dissonance wells up around the difference between this indoctrination and their lived experience must be excruciating for some–as seems to be the case with Samantha Wells.

Very probably the president knew it was a hoax — to any half-way intelligent/aware person this smelled like a hoax from the beginning. But you can’t *say* that, especially not if you’re the president of a university. Even saying that the incident *may* be a hoax, as you suggest, is very risky and may cost you your job. So most people will play along, even if they know (and everyone else knows) it’s bullshit. It’s a classic case of the “new clothes of the emperor”..
You’d also think they’d be smart enough to do it just before finals week, if they still have that. You know, to get a little extra study time when they cancel classes.

St. Olaf’s definitely needs to have a conversation. This was a hate crime against whites.
There’s always an element of self-congratulation/aggrandizement in these notes because blacks think so well of themselves.

Since it’s in Northfield, can’t the townsfolk drive these time-wasters away like they did the James Gang?
Orientation for incoming Black freshmen should include guidance to perpetrating college-level racial hoaxes.
Sounds like something Haven Monahan would say.
Speaking of famous hoaxes, one of the letters in the 2001 anthrax mailings contained the sentence, "Allah is Great," which no self-respecting Arab Muslim or convert would write. So--inside job. That narrows the suspects to the few people with access to the weapons-grade stuff. Then you can triangulate from the post offices, do some surveillance, and proceed to the interrogations. After the FBI humps the investigation for seven years, the goofball mad-science-guy who did it finally kills himself. Work harder, not smarter.

For safety’s sake, they have to treat every report of a hate crime the way they react to a fire alarm; evacuate the building first, only then see if there’s a fire.
When I was a university freshman back in the ’90s, every room in my dorm had a small whiteboard hanging on the wall outside the door. One of my black hallmates drew a black power fist rising up from the bottom border of his whiteboard. This was about the time Steve was getting defenestrated by National Review, and I was a loyal cover-to-cover reader with “goodwhite” beliefs. So, it really was more thoughtless needling than “racism” that caused me to draw a foot coming down from the top border of the whiteboard to crush the fist.
That incident was resolved within our dorm through high-trust, adult discussion overseen just by our dorm RA.
I often think of that incident nowadays. If it had happened yesterday, no doubt it would have become a campus-wide scandal, and maybe I’d be kicked out of the school.
The irony is that now, when I have actual “racist” beliefs, I would be much less likely to needle a black hallmate (i.e., to leave “racism” graffiti) for a variety of reasons extending from Murray-esque racial noblesse oblige to fear to a more serious attitude toward the whole issue of race in America.
The board stayed up for a day but it was torn down the next day, and a new one was put up with the question, 'How do you feel about Columbus?', and some kid wrote in big letters 'I LOVE COLUMBUS'. PC can't handle the truth.
You mean, like at American University?

This hits close to home. I attended the other Northfield MN lib arts college Carleton College for a while a few decades ago. It was at the forefront of political correctness even way back then. A new rule my freshman year was every intramural bball team was required to field 2 girls. The only catch was there weren’t 2 girls on the floor that wanted to play. The problem was not limited to Goodhue 2 apparently because the rule had to be scratched.
But more on point, there was a notorious case of a campus rapist that was allowed to return to school after a year suspension. It was commonly joked (among my very un – Carl group) that calling him by the common epithet for his race would have garnered at least as strong a punishment.
St. Olaf was the much more conservative school across town. I make it MSP occasionally. I should go visit the campus some day.
Ceremonies of this nature can be quite cathartic, especially if they are conducted after someone points out to you that the police can tell which printer a printed page comes from.
LOL! An updated version of the “Know your place, Tranny!” hoax from several years ago.
The job of hate crime investigator is so easy, nowadays. If it sounds like it’s from a movie script, it’s probably a fake. And if it sounds like it’s from a bad movie script, even more so.
Blacks have a tendency to ‘Let the Good Times Roll’ when it comes to fun.
But when it comes to ego, the tune is ‘Nobody Knows the Trouble I seen, Nobody knows but Jesus’.
Or maybe ‘Everyday I Have the Blues’ and ‘Payback’.
They need that Voodoo Justice to make themselves feel so aggrieved and aggrandized.
They are addicted to it like it’s some kind of crack.
Now, if these black women were popular and sexy and successful like like sizzling sassy ho Rihanna, they might be happier. Black female culture is all about narcissism. But in reality, only a few hot ho’s make it and make all the money and gain all the fame.
Many black ho’s feel left out and cheated. So, they want to feel justified somehow. So, they holler and woller. In the black community, they are too busy hollering and wollering at one another.
But in a nice white community, they feel left out. White folks claim to love them and care about them, but these black ho’s are there on affirmative action and have no real place in the setting. They feel alienated. So, their only way to gain any kind of attention is with Victim Voodoo, especially since the ONLY VALUE that some of these black students have at white colleges is victim status. Many are subpar students who were admitted out of ‘compassion’. They are PC props. So, unless they cry ‘victim’, they are nothing. Many are academic zeroes. And most are not Rihannas. The message they hear from white progs is that blacks are ‘noble’ as victims.
Now, if these black students had real talent, they would likely focus on real achievement. I doubt if a black guy with 130 IQ will be goofing around with hoaxes and nonsense. But for blacks without academic credentials, their sense of grievance is the only justification.
They are academic zeroes. And even though blacks dominate sports and are prominent in pop music, only few make it in those areas. So, crying victim is the only card they have left.
Also, black egos tend to be bigger and less self-critical, so blacks just love to make a scene about how their pain is the center of the universe.
I happened to attend a graduation ceremony in 2015 at St. Olaf’s and noted several Somalian graduates, their parents easily discerned thanks to their amazingly colorful native garb. Minnesota has the largest Somalian population in the US; the official census says about 20,000, but the accepted figure is 60,000 (figure that one out).
Minnesotans are a welcoming people (the state already has the first female muslim Somalian legislator as well as the first fully-clothed muslim Somali Miss Minnesota beauty contestant- you can check off lots of boxes with those), and St. Olaf’s is no exception. The St. Olaf Muslim House is an honor house project to raise awareness of Islam and foster a community. Ah, community, so important. The Somali community right now is experiencing a measles epidemic; 1 in 32 children already have contracted measles, because the parents don’t believe in vaccination.

ROTFL.
I used to do stuff like that in college too. This was before the internet.
PC was just getting started, and around Columbus Day, the main library put up a huge board asking students to offer their opinions on the sports team named after American Indians. The wall got filled up lots of scribbling about ‘racism’ and blah blah. So, I got five pieces of paper and made my suggestion of what the team should really be called.
Stuff like “Black Thugs and White Benchwarmers”, “Black Guys Who Hit Balls But Never Books”, and etc.
I got some Jewish kid to help me glue them on the board. He was literally shaking out of fear. I thought it was hilarious.
The board stayed up for a day but it was torn down the next day, and a new one was put up with the question, ‘How do you feel about Columbus?’, and some kid wrote in big letters ‘I LOVE COLUMBUS’.

I posted this a couple of months ago, has it been proven a hoax yet? For something happening in a remote diner, it made it all the way to the BBC News website.
“Catharsis” is a clever new twist that should be added to the standard manual of “how to conduct a hate hoax” that someone mentions is needed. The rope, the note, the cell phone with text messages from Haven Monahan, the Confederate flag – all hateful symbols which must be destroyed before the cops can get their hate filled hands on them.

Won’t your kids be beaten by their kids? Won’t they be committing crime against your own people?
If there were a nation of beagles, would it make sense for it to import pit bulls?
Bringing in a race that is bigger and stronger than your own is idiotic.
“Hey, let’s bring strong black kids to our nation so they will beat up our children.”
“Hey, let’s bring big strong black guys who will kick white male butt and take white women.”
I mean, what kind of idiot policy goes for this?
Just look what happened to France as the result of taking in lots of Negroes.
But do blacks actually read Ta-Nehisi Coates?
No, mostly whites and he is very bitter over the situation.

Blacks are not stronger, just more aggressive and violent. Otherwise I agree 100% with what you say. Blacks moving to white countries (or to any non-black country) is a disaster.

A high school friend of mine was in student government at St. Olaf. He invited me and several friends to Northfield for a Jerry Jeff Walker concert on the campus. He treated us well. We had front row seats. It was a good show. Afterwards we went into town for drinks at some crappy bar. Jerry Jeff showed up and we all had a very large time. Driving, very drunk, back to St. Paul, we learned from the radio that Bobby Sands had died.
We stopped at White Castle to have The Bobby Sands Memorial Feast.
A while later John caught up to the Apostle and said-
"Hey everything's great! We have Duane and Janis and Pig Pen- we've been rehearsing all week! What time do we go on?

Self-inflicted hate just to win easy love.

When I first heard about this story, and how it happened at a place called St Olaf, I instinctively imagined Betty White on an episode of The Golden Girls, telling some ridiciulous story about a fake hate crime that happened there in her youth.
I suppose today, the name Betty White would probably be considered a microaggression.Replies: @guest
St. Olaf doesn’t actually exist, though there is a St. Olaf township in–I had to look this up–Otter Tail County, MN. That’s situated considerably to the northwest of St. Olaf College, which is in the Twin Cities metro area. That’s enough of a distance to mark residents of the former as irredeemable hicks in the minds of residents of the latter. (‘Course, college campuses not located within large cities see themselves as adrift in a sea of hickdom/braindead suburbia, no matter how close they are to cultural centers.)
I recall Betty White speaking of a big black hole located in the fictitious St. Olaf, upon which the stupid townsfolk would gawk. Hate Hoaxes are similar. Ignoramuses stare dumbly into the nothingness. Black holes are a racist construct, anyway.
Not to mention Sven.

Well, he discovered who is responsible for one of these acts. It was either Samantha Wells or one of her comrades. Will he now remove that person from their community?
That incident was resolved within our dorm through high-trust, adult discussion overseen just by our dorm RA.
I often think of that incident nowadays. If it had happened yesterday, no doubt it would have become a campus-wide scandal, and maybe I'd be kicked out of the school.
The irony is that now, when I have actual "racist" beliefs, I would be much less likely to needle a black hallmate (i.e., to leave "racism" graffiti) for a variety of reasons extending from Murray-esque racial noblesse oblige to fear to a more serious attitude toward the whole issue of race in America.Replies: @Chrisnonymous, @Anon, @J.Ross
In the archives of the short-lived but necessary Voice of Reason Radio is a call from a guy describing how, in a dorm with a black roommate who partied noisily all night, he complained to the floor manager whateveritscalled, and was admonished that partying all night is “black culture,” and so far more legitimate and respectable than merely studying or sleeping.
Witty.
Minnesotans are a welcoming people (the state already has the first female muslim Somalian legislator as well as the first fully-clothed muslim Somali Miss Minnesota beauty contestant- you can check off lots of boxes with those), and St. Olaf's is no exception. I knew that Minnesotans were for the most part extremely naive stupid liberals, but I didn’t understand the extent of the white guilt rot, and how much they hate themselves. They really are bent on self-destruction. The refugee program is fully supported by many of the churches in the region and the refugee resettlement organizations are happy to take federal dollars on their way to destroying the Twin Cities and numerous small towns in the region. It all is extremely disappointing and disgusting. Somalis? It would be hard to find worse candidates for immigrants to the US, I would not allow one of those people in here but that is me. Shame on Minnesota.

There is a certain irony to these fabrications. These students have been schooled repeatedly--indoctrinated--that white America is bigoted, suffers from structural and institutional racism, and continues to discriminate against blacks (and other minorities)--and has done so for decades. That a cognitive dissonance wells up around the difference between this indoctrination and their lived experience must be excruciating for some--as seems to be the case with Samantha Wells.Replies: @El Dato

You’re right to look at the bright side, anony-mouse. “Classes cancelled”, given the sort of nonsense that goes on in most of them, is perhaps a “win” for Western Civilization, albeit a small one. Given the reaction of the students, it doesn’t seem to be the case that they have learned much since their matriculation at St. Oh, laughs!
We have to take our little victories where we can get them. A greater victory would be if they never went back, and the Assistant Professors of Microaggression and Cultural Appropriation Studies would actually have to go out and get useful employment.

I remember long ago at my Ivy League college that the proctors putting closing times on student parties was called racist as blacks liked to stay up later than whites.
I don’t know who believes in these kind of ‘race hate’ incidents anymore. I like many others used to be concerned about Global Warming. The alarm was sounded by Carl Sagan – the most famous scientist in the world. But decades of nothing much happening and a rising tide of hysterical hyperbole made my ears slam shut.
The same is now happening with the ‘Russian Conspiracy’ to help Trump and the Republicans keep Hillary from her rightful position as our maximum leader. Commenters on Fox News now seem to smirk involuntarily when they read stories of the Russian connections to the Trump team.
I think of myself as level headed. I certainly have grown deeply suspicious of all these manifestations of black hatred shown by unsigned notes by anonymous white racists. I can’t be the only one who reacts this way.
With all the media outlets it has become very easy to start a spurious rumor but hoaxes have also become much easier to unmask. Maybe this gives us hope that in time we will have fewer of these loony and transparent hoaxes.

Speaking of famous hoaxes, one of the letters in the 2001 anthrax mailings contained the sentence, “Allah is Great,” which no self-respecting Arab Muslim or convert would write. So–inside job.
