From the Daily Caller last year:

9:37 PM 06/06/2018 | INVESTIGATIVE GROUP
Peter Hasson | Reporter

… Four of the world’s biggest tech platforms have working partnerships with a left-wing nonprofit that has a track record of inaccuracies and routinely labels conservative organizations as “hate groups.”

Facebook, Amazon, Google and Twitter all work with or consult the Southern Poverty Law Center (SPLC) in policing their platforms for “hate speech” or “hate groups,” a Daily Caller News Foundation investigation found.

The SPLC is on a list of “external experts and organizations” that Facebook works with “to inform our hate speech policies,” Facebook spokeswoman Ruchika Budhraja told TheDCNF in an interview. …

Of the four companies, Amazon gives the SPLC the most direct authority over its platform, TheDCNF found.

While Facebook emphasizes its independence from the SPLC, Amazon does the opposite: Jeff Bezos’ company grants the SPLC broad policing power over the Amazon Smile charitable program, while claiming to remain unbiased.

“We remove organizations that the SPLC deems as ineligible,” an Amazon spokeswoman told TheDCNF.

Amazon grants the SPLC that power “because we don’t want to be biased whatsoever,” said the spokeswoman, who could not say whether Amazon considers the SPLC to be unbiased.

The Smile program allows customers to identify a charity to receive 0.5 percent of the proceeds from their purchases on Amazon. Customers have given more than $8 million to charities through the program since 2013, according to Amazon.

Only one participant in the program, the SPLC, gets to determine which other groups are allowed to join it.

Christian legal groups like the Alliance Defending Freedom — which recently successfully represented a Christian baker at the Supreme Court — are barred from the Amazon Smile program, while openly anti-Semitic groups remain, TheDCNF found in May. …

“Since 2013, Amazon has relied on the US Office of Foreign Assets Control and the Southern Poverty Law Center to help us make these determinations. …

Twitter lists the SPLC as a “safety partner” working with Twitter to combat “hateful conduct and harassment.” …

Google uses the SPLC to help police hate speech on YouTube as part of YouTube’s “Trusted Flagger” program, The Daily Caller reported in February, citing a source with knowledge of the agreement. Following that report, the SPLC confirmed they’re policing hate speech on YouTube.

The SPLC and other third-party groups in the “Trusted Flagger” program work closely with YouTube’s employees to crack down on extremist content in two ways, according to YouTube.

First, the flaggers are equipped with digital tools allowing them to mass flag content for review by YouTube personnel. Second, the groups act as guides to YouTube’s content monitors and engineers who design the algorithms policing the video platform, but may lack the expertise needed to tackle a given subject.

The SPLC is one of over 300 government agencies and nongovernmental organizations in the YouTube program, the vast majority of which remain hidden behind confidentiality agreements.

  1. Twitter does *NOT* list SPLC on their Safety Partner list:

I actually checked this several days ago, before the recent scandal broke.

Twitter’s CEO and head censorship lawyer appeared on Joe Rogan and were grilled by a right-wing activist, and I was impressed by how reasonable Twitter sounded:

I wish Joe Rogan featured someone better on the right, like Ilana Mercer.

SPLC is horrific. They are a left wing hate group. If Twitter did affiliate with them, that would be a very valid gripe against them.

    Left-wing SPLC?

BDS is considered left-wing, but when has SPLC ever supported BDS? SPLC is very close with ADL that is totally supportive of right-wing Israel.

SPLC makes some noises about ‘Islamophobia’ but ONLY BECAUSE it wants to create the impression of good US-Muslim relations as moral cover for More Wars for Israel. So, SPLC will hound some Jews who are stridently anti-Muslim, but it has no problem with current Israeli policy of terrorizing Palestinians or US/Israel destroying Syria. The way Jews see it, the US must talk nice about Muslims in order to destroy the Muslim World.
And SPLC says nothing about the Deep State war on left-wing Venezuela. If anything, it is supportive of the deep state.

Calling SPLC ‘leftist’ is giving it credit it doesn’t deserve. It is not about ideology. It is about Jewish tribal money used to smear anyone hated by Jews.

And as Ron Unz pointed out, notice that certain books by leftist Israeli historians have also been banned.

  6. And then they came for Morris Dees:

There seems to be a pattern here.

Perhaps if his parents had been clever enough to name him Maurice!

  7. densa says:

First, the SPLC has contracts with the federal government, specifically the Department of Justice (DOJ) and the Department of Homeland Security (DHS), serving as advisors to help define what a domestic terrorist or hate group is, even helping to write official policy for this agency of our government. …

The SPLC also runs the Federal Law Enforcement Training Center which issues official certification to police groups all over the country for fighting “hate” groups, i.e. Right wing groups. And it is funded by the Department of Homeland Security! …

There is now a new trend moving across the nation that makes inclusion on this list dangerous to the very existence of those listed on it. Since President Trump’s election, the SPLC has ramped up its attacks on the Right with the clear purpose of destroying conservatives’ ability to speak out and counter SPLC’s assault on free speech and freedom of choice.

Joining SPLC in these attacks on the Right are major corporations and social media giants like Facebook and Goggle. These corporations are, in fact, using the SPLC hate list to deny services to some organizations and individuals who are listed.

They not only get charitable contributions from big tech, they get taxes too. Has DHS looked into whether any of that offshore stash is ours?

  8. The Smile program allows customers to identify a charity to receive 0.5 percent of the proceeds from their purchases on Amazon. Customers have given more than $8 million to charities through the program since 2013, according to Amazon.

This seems like a pathetic level of donation when you consider the hundreds of billions in purchases passing through Amazon every year.

There seems to be a pattern here.

The Cialis effect. There should be a class action against Lilly for all the sexual harassment by 82 year olds.

But seriously, allegations of harassment seem to be the go-too excuse whenever an organization wants to oust someone with a good contract.

There is something misleading about this Tweet:

One would think Morris Dees was some mastermind who scare-mongered and hoodwinked so many naive suckers into donating big bucks to SPLC. Yes, Dees is sleaze, but he didn’t fool anyone. He was not like those Televangelists who really did fool naive old ladies into handing over their meager savings.

The kind of people who give big money to SPLC are JEWS who know full well that SPLC is a BS operation. Jewish donors use SPLC like they use Antifa. SPLC is the propaganda wing of Jewish hate, and Antifa is the street thug paramilitary. Antifa scum got away with so much bad shit because the Power tells governments and courts to go easy on them. Also, they get tons of free legal representation from Jewish law firms. SPLC spreads fear and hatred about whites and Christians mostly. It is to keep ‘white guilt’ going. It’s to keep the Jewish and non-white coalition together. It is to smear any sign of white identity and white interests as ‘white supremacism’ so that whites, minus their own identity and interests, will serve Jews and Zionists. Also, why did the Deep State and MSM work so closely with SPLC? Same reason they work closely with ADL. They are all dominated by Jewish power. It is a freaking cabal.

And big capital gives big money to SPLC because they know Jews are boss, and if you want to do business smoothly in the US, you have to flatter and grease the palms of Jews. So, APPLE is going tons to SPLC. It’s like if you want to do business in China or India, you have grease other kinds of palms. And of course, disgusting homo-supremacists like Tim Cook love Jewish Power because it uses globalism to spread homo-worship as the new religion.

Dees is out, so will anything change? Even if there was no financial corruption in SPLC, it would have done the same harm because it’s about spreading anti-white and anti-Christian hate(as Jews hate Christianity and want it replaced with Homomania as neo-religion) hatred.

All this talk of Dees or SPLC misses and obfuscates the point. Dees and SPLC have been effective ONLY BECAUSE of Jewish money, Jewish network, and Jewish favoritism. Recall ALL THE NEWS REPORTS in MSM about such-and-such HATE because SPLC blah blah blah stated such and such. Or take Hollywood with its endless vile Jewish hate propaganda against whites, Muslims(terrorists all of them), and Russia(often the big enemy in movies).
SPLC should be called ‘spielz’ because it’s vile Jewish spiel.
But then, is the new media any better? Is the government any better? Trump the scump says he will donate to White Helmets, a terrorist propaganda organization that faked the poison gas attack.

The whole Russia Collusion was a massive fake news scam. And the biggest scam of all is that the globalist elites are ‘leftist’. Yeah, that is why ‘leftist’ Rachel Maddow is so pro-Israel(rightist) and anti-Venezuela(leftist). There are three main forces in the US. Jewish Tribal power. Most of Jewish ‘liberalism’ is just smoke-and-mirrors to do little else but support Jewish tribal power. Then, there are goy suckers who fall for the lies of Jewish ‘liberalism’ or the insane idea that supporting Zionist tyranny over Palestinians is as American as apple pie. Then, weakest by far but on the side of truth are those who know that Jewish Power is the real power that is really f***ing things up.

  12. @RationalExpressions

Yes. They often work with Media Matters, which is attacking Tucker now.

It’s the same old schtick: Decide that someone is bad, then dig up dirt on him, and then show the dirt to the public. In this case, the dirtiest things they could find on Carlson are just some funny, sorta true, sorta nasty things he said on a comedy radio show.

You can donate to NumbersUSA via the Amazon Smile program. I still can’t believe they have not banned NumbersUSA from this program. Everyone on this blog who buys stuff off Amazon should be donating to NumbersUSA via the Smile program.

Just go to Amazon Smile. They try to push their preferred charities onto you. But you can search their comprehensive list of charities. Make sure you spell NumbersUSA as one word with no space, or you will not find it.

Once you select NumbersUSA, anytime you buy something off you will generate an automatic donation to them. The key is you have to shop from If you go to the regular Amazon URL, they won’t get the donation. So if you set this up, remember to login at the Smile version of their website before you add stuff to your shopping cart to ensure they get the donation.

I realize some of you boycott Amazon. Good for you. But if you are going to do business with Satan, you might has well make him pony up to a charity of your choice.

  15. There was an interesting exchange between Tim Pool and the Indian lady who runs twitter’s censorship department, on a recent Joe Rogan podcast.

Pool mentioned that FB and Google were using the SPLC. The Indian lady was very dismissive of them. She mentioned the Maajid Nawaz case.

  16. Google: “Don’t be evil”.

Instead, just subcontract it to the SPLC. Git ‘er done.

You are burying the lede here, which is that if you go to Amazon via then Amazon will donate 1/2% of the amount that you spent to the charity of your choice (at least if it isn’t on the SPLC “hate group” list). There are lots of worth charities that have not been banned and if you buy stuff on Amazon anyway this is a painless way to give to the charity of your choice. Everyone who shops on Amazon should be doing this – I don’t see any downside.

It’s already well documented that all of the major social media platforms use the SPLC and the ADL for censoring conservatives.

  22. Facebook, Amazon, Google and Twitter

That’s a mouthful. Can we just shorten it to FAG-Twit?

theres a very old video of Dees ranting racist shit that the alt right tried to get traction about five years ago when splc began to attack it the ploy didnt work
I bet in the mee too era someone saw it again and realized today its nuclear the splc is trying to get ahead of it by giving dees a shitload of money to go away quietly and pretend to have been fired.

  27. Tom Verso says:

I just found out the Amazon no longer is selling Kevin MacDonald’s “Culture of Critique”.

This is outrageous! The book is a masterful scholarly work of social scientific history.

I never paid much mind the whole Jewish name calling thing. But, they are beginning to raise my consciousness. I read ‘Culture of Critique’ because I was interested in the sociology of group dynamics (i.e. how one group of people interact and affect other groups.) As MacDonald says; essential the Jews are a quintessential historical case study. To construe it as anti-semitic is baseless.

But, the good news is that Amazon is reviving the bookstore industry. Books that Amazon bans are readily available at bookstores listed on the internet. A copy of Culture of Critique, etc. can be easily purchased at competitive prices no less. Not to mention the god-send Ron Unz who makes MacDonald’s and other ‘bad books’ available in HTML form.

  29. conatus says:

Weren’t these companies…FB, Google,Twitter protected from liability over the material published on their websites by the Communications Act?
    And doesn’t 47 USC (a)(3) of that act(Part of Sec. 230) say:
    (3)  The Internet and other interactive computer services offer a forum for a true diversity of political discourse, unique opportunities for cultural development, and myriad avenues for intellectual activity.

Does ‘diversity of political discourse’ mean ‘ if approved by the designated SPLC censor’?
or is the job channeled to a “democracy dies in darkness” Washington Poster(owned by Book banner Bezos) who determines what is correct and what is destined for the memory hole.
