A sad but instructive story about why Somalis would rather get paid to lecture us here than go home and try to make their own country better.

Tragic that Trump’s brilliant plan was thwarted before it could come to fruition. I was looking forward to her coming back to show us how it’s done.

A steady trickle of related stories. People (usually white) head off to vibrant locales to 'prove' a point and end up dying at the hands of the poor misunderstood PoC they were cucking for in the first place. Which, for some reason, never proves anything.

I would go with the Yakov Smirnov (sp?) angle here:

    , @Buck Ransom
That movie's title is "Grizzly Man," and is worth seeing.

Maybe now, 15 years or so later, Herzog could do a new version focusing on the European females who decide to demonstrate their empowerment by taking a hiking vacation in Algeria or Morocco only to end up getting gang-raped and beheaded by the colorful locals. That could win an Oscar or an Emmy or a Tranny or two.

Canada spends on average $15,000 per student K-12. So

    (12 kids) x (thirteen years K-12) x ($15,000) equals $2,340,000

That's a lot of multi for not much culti. It's a pity that more of them aren't infected with the desire to go back to Somalia and tell Muslim fanatics with guns how to improve their lives. It's a pity that more of us Norte Americanos don't understand that we need to bar the door.

Trump has managed to politically engage a lot of people by making politics fun again.

Think about it; political talk has largely been boring for the last 50+ years. Sure, the occasional war or Bush v. Gore got people's attention, but the average joe fell asleep when pols lobbed their underhanded-inside-baseball insults at one another or had another --yawn---"congressional investigation" or "committee hearing".

That was all by design; lull the people into sleep, give them bread and circuses to distract them, and then, loot the place.

Trump has upended this apple cart because he's so blunt and brings back the old rough-and-tumble method of political fighting that got many of our ancestors into shouting matches. Old Tymy poltiics was dirty, but the dirtiness was much more direct and easier for the average Joe to get interested in, understand and get red-faced by.

Much like Jimmy Hoffa, Trump's crudeness wakes up a lot of people who agree with him. They don't just agree with him----his words rouse them to emotion and action.
    , @Tired of Not Winning
Kevin McCarthy voted with 105 other GOP members to pass House Bill 1044, which fast tracks green cards for 300,000 Indian con-artists, and struck down the 7% per country limit for EB5 and green cards.

We are just trading one treasonous rat for another, not much difference at the end of the day.

And btw, it was Trump himself who kept Ryan on, despite the fact that Ryan openly went against him after the Access Hollywood tape came out. Trump is just another treasonous rat at the end of the day.

  5. A Somali family in Minneapolis sent their teenage son to the old country for education because they didn’t like the way kids are taught here. (They have a point.)

    He was murdered.

A Somali co-worker told me that the bad American habits these kids pick up, such as back talk, are not appreciated at home. I’m not sure how much he knew about this particular case.

If this is what happened, then we have a Somali Emmett Till.

But unlike Emmett, he’s already forgotten.

PORTLANDIZATION: IT CAN HAPPEN TO A PLACE NEAR YOU
When the crazies took over the city I loved, I knew it was time to get out

    By Nancy Rommelmann
    July 12, 2019

All cities have their terribleness, all their goodness, and there are things about Portland I will miss. I will miss the Waypost, a bar with amber lighting that makes everyone look 27 and a tiny stage where there’s usually something fine and unexpected, five guys on cellos, a girl telling bedtime stories. I will miss Oaks Park Skating Rink, where the massive 1920s Wurlitzer pipe organ drops from the ceiling and an organist plays disco for skaters mostly born after 2002. I will miss the National Sanctuary of our Sorrowful Mother, popularly known as the Grotto, with its cave carved into the side of a cliff, and inside, a replica of Michelangelo’s Pietà. I will miss the clouds, which Portland does better than anyplace I’ve been and which many of you have seen an iteration of on the opening of The Simpsons, whose creator Matt Groening grew up here. Portland does the nature thing pretty well. My first week here, I was taking a run and wondering what all the purple splotches on the sidewalk were. Plums. Food is everywhere, it falls into your hands, jumps onto your line, as when, that same first week, my husband called from the Oregon coast to say, beginner’s luck, he’d caught two salmon. We butchered them on the back porch, and they were so fresh, they smelled only and very faintly of watermelon. And I will miss the squad that took us through some recent hardships, including my daughter’s father living with us as he dies of lung cancer. As I have written before, he was a basketball star in his youth, and we leaned hard this year into the Portland Trail Blazers, this team of great heart, great toughness, a bunch of sweet, driven players who believed they could get us to the finals and almost did, we’d set our dinner plates around the TV and scream and cheer, we thank these guys so much, they made the season bright, and my daughter and I are already scoping out bars in Brooklyn that show West coast games so we can keep watching them play.

“It’s still beautiful here,” my husband said last night, as we sat on the porch, looking at a July moon. “It’s the people.”

Soon, other people will live in this house. I wish them well. I wish Portland well, and if I were to say anything to those who come here to live their ideals, it is to not be afraid of the guy in the MAGA hat, the girls making burritos. Anyone who tells you to hate swaths of people has their own agenda. Find out for yourself. Make your own courage. Make Portland beautiful.

    , @SimpleSong
Part of Portland's problem is that pretty much everybody who moves there is a white liberal environmentalist/vegan/feminist/etc. type who subliminally strongly dislikes interacting with minorities. So they move to Portland (which culturally is probably a lot like San Francisco was 50 years ago, and demographically is extremely white for a US city.)

On some level they realize how this looks--a liberal person moving to the whitest city in America--so they go into a virtue signaling craze to head off any potential criticism.

Of course this dynamic happens all over the country to varying degrees. Seattle is like this too but not as severe because a lot of people move for employment at Amazon, MSFT, and Boeing and so they don't have the psychological baggage. Portland, though, doesn't really have any large employers so most people who move there decide to move first, then find a job. There is quite a pipeline between cities like New Haven and Baltimore, which have high quality universities stuck in black cities, and the Pacific Northwest.
    , @Tired of Not Winning
Portland is a dump. The downtown, if you can call it that, is dirty, chaotic, run down with lots of smelly, drunk/crazy homeless people wandering around. The downtown Target is a total dump and feels dangerous to even shop in. Even worse than Seattle, if that's possible.

We recently passed through town on a family vacation, and stopped in a restaurant called Afuri Ramen to have lunch. The restaurant is "industrial chic", in a crappy neighborhood(like most of Portland), almost entirely white run with a couple of token Asians, and the clientele was almost entirely white. The strange thing is, there were quite a few young white couples with children who look like locals on a Monday afternoon. Why aren't these people at work?

There is a fine line between leftism and fascism, and the leftist cult in Portland has crossed that line many times over.

Somerset Maugham’s ‘The Alien Corn’ is a good depiction of this phenomenon. I've seen it to often in real life:

    * The Irish woman with a very lax attitude towards the law married to a Jewish PhD New School type and insisting on being an Irish Colleen rather than a Jewish Princess.

    and so on.

Yes, people will immolate themselves because they can't or won't act as their surroundings demand. In fact, its fairly common.

  18. Stereotypes are simply another word for conventional wisdom. Over the last 50 years or so we went through a truly weird series of attitudes towards them.

    1. Everyone accepts the general truth of most stereotypes.

    2. It is pointed out that stereotypes aren’t always true. This is generally accepted because very few people are stupid enough to think they are.

    3. Because there are exceptions where the stereotype doesn’t apply, people begin to claim the stereotype isn’t true.

    4. Because something is a stereotype, it is considered axiomatic that it is untrue, and indeed that its opposite it likely true. In fact, demonstrating that something is a stereotype disproves it.

    5. (Where we are now.) Anyone who expressed even conditional belief in the truth of a stereotype is demonized as a horrible evil person who must be destroyed. See James Damore.

Meanwhile, actual research over the same period has demonstrated conclusively that most stereotypes are accurate, as we might expect from the wisdom of crowds.

If you can’t live in an industrialized economy (and remember, mean world IQ is in the 80s while minimum IQ to get work in an industrialized society is around 85, so that’s maybe half the immigrant population, maybe a lot more since successful people tend not to emigrate) and are too bloody stupid to understand why, “racism did it” sounds like a good explanation. The immigrants didn’t have any problem with cognitive ability, conscientiousness, honesty, etc. back in their home countries — everybody was like the immigrants.

I remember a time when I tried to order breakfast at a slightly upscale hotel, and the waiter was an experienced fresh of the boat French water, apparently from a highly unionised shop, and wouldn’t take my breakfast order, apparently because that’s the way they did it in France. The manager agreed with me, and the French guy ended up on the grounds crew. He very nearly assaulted me, but thought better of it. He had no understanding of what happened. I suspect this is typical. The standard African immigrant I’ve met regards every encounter as a fight to win with his overwhelming personality; that’s apparently how they do it in Africa.

So the grievances are real, it’s just that there is no way Americans can end the grievances. We can’t act like every bloody nation on Earth, a different one for each immigrant country of origin. Heck, most of them don’t want that. Try speaking Spanish to a Latino, Latina, or Latinx. Rather than appreciate the effort, usually they’ll try to claim advantage because their Spanish is better than yours.

There is no reason at all for Americans to pay _any_ attention to racism claims. To the extent that people in group A are wary or contemptuous of people in group B is something called ‘Baysian probability theory” or, in standard English, “learning from experience”.

Target had a problem with some Muslim employess (read Somali) refusing to handle pork products:

    updated 3/18/2007 12:14:18 AM ET

My sister speaks Spanish. We don’t live in a very Latinized area though. She reported when she took a Gulf cruise earlier last year and the ship stopped in Mexican ports the local merchants were delighted she spoke Spanish and often complimented her Spanish.

She says back hone here it’s different. When she goes to eat at Mexican restaurants she’ll sometimes try to order in Spanish or talk to the waiter in Spanish.
She said more often than not they seem annoyed. Interesting contrast with Mexico.

Excellent. It’s not just a throwaway line to say “This is why we need different countries.”
I think of all the memoirs I’ve read of the World Wars. The Europeans in Africa or Asia had a genuine regard for many of the people they dealt with overseas.
Those very same soldiers would be considered vile racists for not wanting their home countries flooded with those very same foreigners.
Diversity is our Strength is the vilest phrase that was ever concocted, just in terms of the destruction it is wreaking.
    , @Hypnotoad666

There is no reason at all for Americans to pay _any_ attention to racism claims.

This is the problem in a nutshell. As long as white Americans are afraid of being called "racist" they have ceded all power to the people wielding the term. As a result, they must dance like trained monkeys on command so that please, please, please, they don't get labelled as "racist." Republican Establishment politicians being just the most obvious example.
    , @Trutherator
To counterinsurgency: Latinos like my wife and stepkids more often just laugh at gringos who play the "I know Spanish" card. Uproarious laughter followed the Betos stunt and the Booker counter-stunts in the Dem debate.

They also get a laugh at Latinos in these United States that pretend they don't know Spanish (they've met them) and that go back down there and pretentiously use the mixing pot Spanish like in Miami.

The manager agreed with me, and the French guy ended up on the grounds crew. He very nearly assaulted me, but thought better of it. He had no understanding of what happened. I suspect this is typical. The standard African immigrant I've met regards every encounter as a fight to win with his overwhelming personality; that's apparently how they do it in Africa.

The ones with six or eight kids have to work. They also qualify for "working welfare", i.e., food stamps, EITC, etc. They also lower wages, which puts everyone else on working welfare.

Canada spends on average $15,000 per student K-12. So

    (12 kids) x (thirteen years K-12) x ($15,000) equals $2,340,000

Third world migrants need special ed classes at very high rates. Partly because so many of them are too low IQ to ever learn to read at a 6th grade level. And then others are so inbred they have brain damage/internal birth defects.

Part of Portland’s problem is that pretty much everybody who moves there is a white liberal environmentalist/vegan/feminist/etc. type who subliminally strongly dislikes interacting with minorities. So they move to Portland (which culturally is probably a lot like San Francisco was 50 years ago, and demographically is extremely white for a US city.)

On some level they realize how this looks–a liberal person moving to the whitest city in America–so they go into a virtue signaling craze to head off any potential criticism.

Of course this dynamic happens all over the country to varying degrees. Seattle is like this too but not as severe because a lot of people move for employment at Amazon, MSFT, and Boeing and so they don’t have the psychological baggage. Portland, though, doesn’t really have any large employers so most people who move there decide to move first, then find a job. There is quite a pipeline between cities like New Haven and Baltimore, which have high quality universities stuck in black cities, and the Pacific Northwest.

    • Replies: @Steve Sailer
Portland has Nike and Nike's ad agency.

    That's kind of funny.

    , @Alden
Other than Nike headquarters the industry of Portland is colleges. So in addition to liberal new comers it’s full of 25 to 6o year old grads who hang around barely employed or non profit grifters. They’re a major part of Antifa and the general insanity
    , @Thea
I’ve heard there are really two Portlands. Old-time Beverly Cleary types and then these newcomers who call the other white trash Portland.

Including themselves. The "self-hating Jew" isn't entirely a myth, nor is the "self-hating" .

Somerset Maugham’s ‘The Alien Corn’ is a good depiction of this phenomenon. I've seen it to often in real life:
    * the Jewish graduate of Bronx High School of Science, then a very solid engineering institute, then a job at an engineering shop for a major corporation -- married a non-Jewish wive who divorced him for job stress, turned to selling drugs because the life allotted to him was not what he could live.
    * The woman with several degrees and top grades going back to work as a low level programmer because she thought she was unworthy.

Hollywood thinks it sees a chance to re-make the United States into something it can live with, and it's willing to bet its life.

That movie’s title is “Grizzly Man,” and is worth seeing.

The campers in Morocco several months ago weren't explicitly on a SJW trip. Pippa Bacca was, however.

Pippa Bacca, was an Italian feminist artist who, together with a fellow [female] artist, was hitchhiking internationally to promote world peace under the motto, "marriage between different peoples and nations", symbolically wearing a wedding dress during her trek.
    ...
Bacca and her companion split up just prior to arriving in Istanbul, planning to meet up again in Beirut. Bacca disappeared after 31 March. Her credit card was reportedly used at noon of that day. Bacca's naked, strangled and decomposing body was found near some bushes near Gebze, about 40 miles southeast of Istanbul.

“We’re all literally willing to die to leave these places, which are in truth utterly perfect in every way, to move to the place that’s brimming with the hideous racism that denigrates the perfect places we’re fleeing as “refugees” as a benighted cesspit of disease and death. It’s only right that we have the experience and moral authority to lecture the racists in our new country of “refuge” on how disordered and illogical their racist thinking really is!”

If you can't live in an industrialized economy (and remember, mean world IQ is in the 80s while minimum IQ to get work in an industrialized society is around 85, so that's maybe half the immigrant population, maybe a lot more since successful people tend not to emigrate) and are too bloody stupid to understand why, "racism did it" sounds like a good explanation. The immigrants didn't have any problem with cognitive ability, conscientiousness, honesty, etc. back in their home countries -- everybody was like the immigrants.

I remember a time when I tried to order breakfast at a slightly upscale hotel, and the waiter was an experienced fresh of the boat French water, apparently from a highly unionised shop, and wouldn't take my breakfast order, apparently because that's the way they did it in France.

So the grievances are real, it's just that there is no way Americans can end the grievances. We can't act like every bloody nation on Earth, a different one for each immigrant country of origin. Heck, most of them don't want that. Try speaking Spanish to a Latino, Latina, or Latinx. Rather than appreciate the effort, usually they'll try to claim advantage because their Spanish is better than yours.

There is no reason at all for Americans to pay _any_ attention to racism claims. To the extent that people in group A are wary or contemptuous of people in group B is something called 'Baysian probability theory" or, in standard English, "learning from experience".

    Counterinsurgency

Very true, contrary to what the leftards tell us, many Europeans had a lot of regard for traditional non White culture during colonial times. For example, the Brits started colleges to preserve Sanskrit knowledge in India, were patrons of classical Indian music. Non whites hardly return the favour in this respect.

Target had a problem with some Muslim employess (read Somali) refusing to handle pork products:

    updated 3/18/2007 12:14:18 AM ET

MINNEAPOLIS — Muslim cashiers at some local Target stores who object to ringing up products that contain pork are being shifted to other positions where they don’t need to, the discount retailer said Saturday.

The Star Tribune reported this past week that some Muslim cashiers at local Targets had declined to scan pork products such as bacon because doing so would conflict with their religious beliefs. They would ask other cashiers to ring up such purchases, or sometimes customers would scan those items themselves, the newspaper reported.

Minneapolis-based Target Corp. has now offered its local Muslim cashiers who object to handling pork the option of wearing gloves while cashiering, shifting to other positions or transferring to other nearby stores.

“We are confident that this is a reasonable solution for our guests and team members,” Target spokeswoman Paula Thornton-Greear said in a statement e-mailed to The Associated Press on Saturday.

Greear said it was a localized problem and that it would be handled on a case-by-case basis.

Portland is a dump. The downtown, if you can call it that, is dirty, chaotic, run down with lots of smelly, drunk/crazy homeless people wandering around. The downtown Target is a total dump and feels dangerous to even shop in. Even worse than Seattle, if that’s possible.

We recently passed through town on a family vacation, and stopped in a restaurant called Afuri Ramen to have lunch. The restaurant is “industrial chic”, in a crappy neighborhood(like most of Portland), almost entirely white run with a couple of token Asians, and the clientele was almost entirely white. The strange thing is, there were quite a few young white couples with children who look like locals on a Monday afternoon. Why aren’t these people at work?

There is a fine line between leftism and fascism, and the leftist cult in Portland has crossed that line many times over.

This is the problem in a nutshell. As long as white Americans are afraid of being called “racist” they have ceded all power to the people wielding the term. Yes you see, we have many Somalis just lodged up in our Raddissons in downtown Toronto, and they're getting the usual excessive perks like the child benefits( which as you know as adds up with their 11 kids), free dentistry( which isn't covered for most), free healthcare, education as well as taxpayer-backed daycare. An old professional acquaintance of mine was visiting me and he made the boneheaded decision of booking a room at one such lodging, and when I went there, my initial surmises about the situation were promptly avouched. There were many little lightbulbs just dashing through the corridors of the estabilishment, and the irritating noise they generated in the elevators was quite the nuisance. All in all, not a very productive, or useful people objectively, and yes comparatively ( to other non-Negro immigrant populations).

Third world migrants need special ed classes at very high rates. Partly because so many of them are too low IQ to ever learn to read at a 6th grade level. And then others are so inbred they have brain damage/internal birth defects.

So $15,000 per student is the best case scenario.

“Try speaking Spanish to a Latino, Latina, or Latinx. Rather than appreciate the effort, usually they’ll try to claim advantage because their Spanish is better than yours.”

Likewise, if a young White man goes backpacking through Latin America or Asia, he may get some extra attention from the local ladies.

That anti-white BS is only when they live in Western countries.

Hollywood thinks it sees a chance to re-make the United States into something it can live with, and it's willing to bet its life.

They’re competing for virtue-signalling points, like spending a year at an ashram or doing a stint in the Peace Corps.

The movie about Treadwell shows what a wackaloon he was. Angrily denouncing people for not caring about the bears like he did. Only he, says he, understands the bears and they understand him.

I like to think those bears weren’t so much hungry as thoroughly fed up with him instead.

Yes you see, we have many Somalis just lodged up in our Raddissons in downtown Toronto, and they’re getting the usual excessive perks like the child benefits( which as you know as adds up with their 11 kids), free dentistry( which isn’t covered for most), free healthcare, education as well as taxpayer-backed daycare.

The campers in Morocco several months ago weren’t explicitly on a SJW trip. Pippa Bacca was, however.

Pippa Bacca, was an Italian feminist artist who, together with a fellow [female] artist, was hitchhiking internationally to promote world peace under the motto, “marriage between different peoples and nations”, symbolically wearing a wedding dress during her trek.

Bacca and her companion split up just prior to arriving in Istanbul, planning to meet up again in Beirut. Bacca disappeared after 31 March. Her credit card was reportedly used at noon of that day. Bacca’s naked, strangled and decomposing body was found near some bushes near Gebze, about 40 miles southeast of Istanbul.

To counterinsurgency: Latinos like my wife and stepkids more often just laugh at gringos who play the “I know Spanish” card. Uproarious laughter followed the Betos stunt and the Booker counter-stunts in the Dem debate.

They also get a laugh at Latinos in these United States that pretend they don’t know Spanish (they’ve met them) and that go back down there and pretentiously use the mixing pot Spanish like in Miami.

Those very same soldiers would be considered vile racists for not wanting their home countries flooded with those very same foreigners.
Diversity is our Strength is the vilest phrase that was ever concocted, just in terms of the destruction it is wreaking.

The Europeans in Africa or Asia had a genuine regard for many of the people they dealt with overseas.

Very true, contrary to what the leftards tell us, many Europeans had a lot of regard for traditional non White culture during colonial times. For example, the Brits started colleges to preserve Sanskrit knowledge in India, were patrons of classical Indian music. Non whites hardly return the favour in this respect.

A steady trickle of related stories. People (usually white) head off to vibrant locales to 'prove' a point and end up dying at the hands of the poor misunderstood PoC they were cucking for in the first place. Which, for some reason, never proves anything.

I didn't have a chance to write before, Ben, but that was a good one! I may have to use it on my blog, if I write about this deal, with all due attribution, of course.

I love me a good Yakov Smirnoff joke, or should I say, THE good Yakov Smirnoff joke.

There’s a good comedy writers’ room waiting to be recruited in the Unzitariat.

I’m thinking Kids in the Hall (no homo) with a dash of Sam Hyde.

Perhaps the the next side project, Mr. Unz?

  125. These terrorists are useful for something. Blowing up media darlings.

Somalis are the worst possible immigrants, due to the black + lo-IQ + Muslim intersections. This is verified by their uselessness in other nations stupid enough to take them in. Mostly Anglo (founded) such as NZ, Australia, Canada, UK of course. Don't waste your breath calling Somalia a shit-hole. It is just a hole.
To take these ungrateful, non-productive, useless people in.... This is true immigrant derangement syndrome. By do-gooders and crazed Lutheran refugee agencies. Christian do-goodism at its most toxic.

Karen Blixen, a plantation owner, in Kenya at the turn of the century liked the Somalis and found that they relieved her of a lot of practical burdens of running a coffee plantation.

In Shadows on the Grass, Blixen would describe the Somalis as aristocrats among the Africans, “superior in culture and intelligence”
