Sailer’s First Law of Female Journalism is of course:

The most heartfelt articles by female journalists tend to be demands that social values be overturned in order that, Come the Revolution, the journalist herself will be considered hotter-looking.

Maybe we need an Addendum to cover the increasing number of quasi-females who have somehow gotten themselves put in charge of public health?

How many of our problems as a society arise from the fact that three generations of Americans have now spent their school days primarily “learning quite a bit about emotions” rather than facts or logic?

Interesting article about how serious crime clear up rates fall (6 out of 10 murders are unsolved in Philadelphia) while Broken Windows policies mean the black community feel harassed amid ever increasing police resources for zero tolerance. I would say there is a tipping point at which those blacks who become witnesses are regarded as renegades in their community and as a result are quite possibly signing their own death warrant. The Cops tv reality shows those too drug addled to declined to be filmed, but there are organised gangs with a long arm.

Philadelphia police tear gassed a BLM demonstration the other day, now the mayor is humbly apologizing. Black Lives Matter may be inchoate, leaderless and with very stupid objectives, but their strategy is, as Bret Weinstein says, succeeding brilliantly.

    Mr. Derbyshire;
I don’t get the impression that the Chinese are foolish enough to want to actually “take over” this dumpster fire.
Based on what we’ve seen with Asian Century and New Silk Roads initiatives, African resource farming and so forth, they seem smart enough to avoid outright colonization and “taking over” real estate outside of their bordering territories. You don’t see them sending occupying armies into Africa, trying to convert the locals to their beliefs, and declaring the natives to be natural citizens of a “Greater China” who are entitled to emigrate to China and do to Peking what was done to Paris and London.
What is sensible would be to farm the US for food and natural resources, acquire ownership of critical industries, mines, farms, ports, and other infrastructure, hire the brightest Americans for their creative and scientific abilities, and buy up real estate in nice areas as second residences. But never ever, claim they are in charge and therefore responsible for the overall situation. The danger for them is to get so tied up that they will need to provide military security to protect their citizens and property from the Brazilian style chaos.
I could be wrong; maybe the Chinese have generally been making smart moves lately but it won’t last. After all, our civilization made some smart moves before it got rich enough to get stupid, so perhaps they’ll go brain-dead again in turn.

    https://seekingalpha.com/article/4349199-money-supply-growth-in-april-ballooned-to-new-high

Fueled by unprecedented quantitative easing, central bank asset purchases, and various stimulus packages, the money supply growth rate ballooned in April to an all-time high. The growth rate has never been higher, with the 1970s as the only period that comes close. It was expected that money supply growth would surge in recent months. This usually happens in the wake of the early months of a recession or financial crisis. The magnitude of the growth rate, however, was unexpected.

Rats – central Oregon (including Lincoln county) was one of the places I’ve been looking at for retirement, to get away from the crazies and go to small town America where real people live.

161–I like Central Oregon a lot. I wouldn’t consider Lincoln County–i.e. the coast–“Central Oregon”… not that there’s anything wrong with it.

But Oregon’s income tax is abusive. Basically you’ll fork over 9% of your income to fund people who hate and wish to exterminate you.

I can’t understand why people–barring family connection–retire to any income tax state. You have seven no-income tax states–Alaska, Washington, Nevada, Wyoming, South Dakota, Texas, Florida and New Hampshire–with a wide variety of climatic conditions and amenities, to choose from. (Tennessee is fine for young folks–no earned income tax–but useless to retirees.)

Note, that other tax considerations may be in play. Washington has an abusive inheritance tax if you’ve accumulated considerable assets you wish to pass on to your kids.

    ~~

I find it disheartening that more Republican states haven’t gone and abolished their income taxes constitutionally. Many of them–Georgia, North Carolina, Arizona, etc.–are on the bubble and could go the way of Colorado any time. Why not at least leave *your* voters some protection–even if temporary–from what will be a greedy rapacious state down the road.

Turok, a big fan of your crossover with Eternal Warrior. And Magnus Robot Fighter. Whatever happened to the HARD Corps and Armorines?

But as the Son of Stone fighting Mon-Arch you were too busy to catch South Park. That freak is weirder than Cartman on a tricycle playing cop.

I see Sarah Palin has really let herself go.

(I mean, really, really let herself go.)

    Just for the record:

    https://infogalactic.com/info/Lincoln_County,_Oregon

The racial makeup of the county was 90.59% White, 0.30% Black or African American

Virtue signaling by a mentally ill man. Rather like a Coronavinus comment, actually.

Chris, the Falls on a sunny frigid day when the mist creates ice crystals in the air and icicles on the trees and shrubs is memorable, actually unforgetable. Glad you stopped by.

Another, I stand by my statement. Still a great place to live and check housing costs.

More like YOU. We white men have it generally good with our women folk. See, they can smell your self-pity and loathing away. I suggest you read “Gorilla Mindset” by Mike Cernovich. It will change your life.

“I’m perfectly happy to live my life minding my own business but Woke Karen’s have to scream at me every hour and demand at a min i grovel and kneel. That’s the fighting side of me.”

Indeed, some woman or women in your life really made mince meat out of you, perhaps by your own doing. So what is your response? Very strange “observations”.

I used to laugh at shit like this. Now, it just depresses me.

If it is any consolation (I expect it isn’t much), it is far, far worse if you live outside the US and are looking on.

Everyone in the EU is fond of giving America stick, certainly, but this is only because EU countries sense very strongly (though they would never openly admit it) that the Americans have (or rather, had) their act together.

With America now having officially lost its collective mind, there is no one to look up to anymore.

I am not very good with similes, but it feels as though we are watching Father Christmas being set alight whilst simultaneously being informed that this is a good thing because the old boy had to go.

I think I have now finally grasped what T. Dalrymple was getting at when he long-ago said:

“Political correctness is communist propaganda writ small. In my study of communist societies, I came to the conclusion that the purpose of communist propaganda was not to persuade or convince, nor to inform, but to humiliate; and therefore, the less it corresponded to reality the better. When people are forced to remain silent when they are being told the most obvious lies, or even worse when they are forced to repeat the lies themselves, they lose once and for all their sense of probity. To assent to obvious lies is to co-operate with evil, and in some small way to become evil oneself. One’s standing to resist anything is thus eroded, and even destroyed. A society of emasculated liars is easy to control. I think if you examine political correctness, it has the same effect and is intended to.”

I don’t know why it took me so long to get it, but it did.

  105. @Telemachos

GOP up-and-comer Gov. DeSantis hath decreed that Florida schools are finally going to be teaching anti-semitism and anti-racism instead of the usual KKK indoctrination.

    https://floridapolitics.com/archives/343286-gov-desantis-signs-holocaust-ocoee-massacre-education-bill

How is this anything other than a confession that he had no idea what was already being taught for the last 30 years and thus a total hypocrite when claiming to care about education?

If you visit the Falls, get there early (like 7am, because it sells out quickly) and go for a ride on the Maid of the Mist. The boat sails right into the teeth of the falls. Memorable.

See your TD quote and raise:

Science does not need women any more than it needs foot fetishists, pole-vaulters, or Somalis. What science needs is scientists. If they happen also to be foot fetishists, pole-vaulters, or Somalis, so be it:
but no one in his right mind would go to any lengths to recruit for his laboratory foot fetishists, pole-vaulters, or Somalis for those characteristics alone.
    – Theodore Dalrymple

Highly recommend his book Life at the Bottom.
