Sabrina Rubin Erdely’s obsession with fictitious breaking glass inspired some real breaking glass. From the Washington Times last December:

Unpunished vandalism rampage inspired by Rolling Stone’s U.Va. rape story

Student activist who led vandalism attack on Phi Kappa Psi fraternity house says he has no regrets

By Jeffrey Scott Shapiro – The Washington Times – Sunday, December 21, 2014

In the wee morning hours after Rolling Stone’s now-retracted gang rape story roiled the University of Virginia campus, a masked group of five women and three men unleashed their fury on the Phi Kappa Psi fraternity house at the center of the controversy.

Bottles and bricks were tossed through nearly every first-floor window, sending shards of glass and crashing sounds into the house around 2:30 a.m. on Nov. 20.

Profane, hate messages such as “F—k Boys” were spray-painted on the walls of the colonial facade, along with anti-sexual assault epithets such as “suspend us,” and “UVA Center for Rape Studies.”

The Charlottesville, Virginia, police blotter unmistakably describes the attack as a crime. “Vandalism and destruction of property,” it reads.

Felony charges also could be attached because the crime involved throwing dangerous objects into a private dwelling and because the damage may total over $1,000. It’s unclear how many fraternity brothers were in the house at the time.

Yet more than a month after the attack, no arrests have been made and no charges have been filed. The fraternity house, its shattered windows now boarded with plywood, remains vacant. Like the Ferguson riots, there has been little accountability for those who perpetrated violence in the name of protest.

Police and prosecutors declined to say whether or when they might make arrests in the attack on the fraternity house.

Yet finding a student willing to admit his or her role as well as eyewitnesses who saw the group conduct the attack was relatively easy for a Washington Times reporter who spent two days on campus. After all, a witness who found a cellphone at the scene he believed belonged to a perpetrator gave the device to police.

The witness, who spoke to The Times only on the condition of anonymity because of fears of retaliation, said the cellphone had a text message from a second person he believed also participated in the attack. “That was exhilarating,” the message said.

After finding witnesses, cellphone information and social media postings bragging about the attack, The Times tracked down a male student identified by witnesses as a possible leader of the attack. The student agreed to talk to The Times only on the condition that his name wasn’t published, saying he didn’t want police to find him.

Is America like Nazi Germany, where mobs can smash windows of the disprivileged with impunity?

Will any arrests ever be made in this crime?

Yep. When those who commit crimes or harass others face no consequences - and often are applauded - the bad behavior will continue.

The Derb was right: White people are pussies. However, we're a very odd type of pussy. We gather for protests to "defend" . . . black people. Our most aggressive fly around the world killing people, often with great precision, at the the behest of another tribe, yet these modern white warriors won't lift a finger to protect their own.

Tough as it is to admit, I have a hard to understanding - and, well, respecting - my own people. If we don't wake up, it's hard to feel much sympathy. God knows that I've felt the wrath of my fellow whites many a time for voicing just a modest amount of ethnic solidarity. It's quite uncouth, don't you know. All successful whites should be able to avoid such unpleasantness is the general feeling amongst the whites that I know.

Everybody blames the Jews, and goodness knows that they have been pushing our disintegration. But c'mon, whites aren't that stupid. We seem to lack the ability to feel racial solidarity. That lack of clannishness worked really well for about 500 years, but I suspect that its advantages are quickly fading in a world of cheap travel. The irony of becoming HBD aware is that I've also become aware of a potentially serious flaw in white genetics. Yea, we're pretty smart and certainly amazingly creative, but like the smart, nerdy kid, we don't excel on the playground as well as the classroom. And something tells me that recess began about 40 years ago and isn't going to end anytime soon.

I’m not sure whether your question is rhetorical or not, but in Seattle if you have a conservative bumper sticker your car will almost certainly be vandalized given enough time (an election cycle), and if you voice a conservative opinion in the wrong place you will be assaulted. Years ago I had my car vandalized for a sporting a 'Bob Dornan for President' bumper sticker but I retaliated. I had a bunch of Lyndon Larouche bumper stickers and they were really provocative. "AIDS IS A GIFT FROM THE FAIRIES" was my favorite but there was also 'DON'T GET AIDS, EAT LIKE A REPUBLICAN and 'AIDS IS MORE DEADLY THAN NUCLEAR WAR'. When I saw a car with a leftist bumper sticker that offended me I didn't 'vandalize' the car. I simply applied a Lyndon Larouche bumpersticker over the offending one and let the owner deal with the consequences from their own kind.

  4. No arrests will be made if Charlottesville police chief Longo is in charge. While Chief Longo may have been willing to spend ‘hundreds of hours’ of police time on an investigation of a ‘rape’ for which no police report was ever made, he apparently has not been asked by UVA president Teresa Sullivan to find the culprits for the violent attack on the residence of male UVA students.

Why either Longo or Sullivan still have their jobs is the question taxpayers in Albemarle County and Virginia should be asking themselves. Its not as if Longo or Sullivan have been crackerjack public officials other than in the Haven Monahan investigation. A serial killer was preying on coeds right under Chief Longo’s nose for years but he looked more like Michael Brown than Haven Monahan and Longo had to be pulled, dragging and screaming by the victims parents ( and a conservative website) to get off his butt and make an arrest in those cases. UVA president Sullivan also was not pressuring Longo to intensify his efforts to find the coed killer Mathews either.

  5. Anonymous • Disclaimer says:

I heard Rolling Stone owner Jan Wener paid the cops big money for that cellphone.

Actually I just made that up. And I spelled his name wrong deliberately to add some extra malice.

But that should all be OK with him, right? That’s the Rolling Stone way apparently. He can relate to my poison pen … and embrace me as potentially Rolling Stone material.

  6. these guys should find the attackers administer some severe justice. It might be exhilarating!

  7. No one will be arrested or held accountable for the night of broken glass at UVA. Partly because it conflicts with the narrative, and partly because no one was killed.

To see the magnitude of what was dodged here, all you have to do is substitute this story of the Tulsa riots, Duluth lynchings, and several others (this is not a racial thing; you could even plug Leo Frank into here, even though he had a trial). Young woman claims sex crime and it is trumpeted by the media: in the old days there would have been indignant mobs (as here) but someone would have been hanging from a lamppost or a tree. This is why Rape Survivor Culture is so dangerous, and needs to be exposed.

By the same token, if this story was written up for a TV cop show or a movie, it would have much more punch with a dead body or two. Imagine if, in the teaser, a mob stormed a frat, and a fire broke out, or a solitary molotov cocktail was thrown in the middle of the night. Now imagine someone died.

So the investigation of the crime leads to an investigation of why, the investigation of why leads to the article, the opacity of the article leads to a criminal investigation, including subpoena power to override the legal restraints on the parties, and then it is discovered that here was a death caused by — no crime.

Then further interviews, leading to the crucial revelation: no crime, and also, no criminal. He did not exist. Then the revelation that “he who does not exist” was invented by a silly young woman to catfish a guy. You could wrap it up by having the young woman being a split personality type character who wouldn’t hurt a fly. I mean a treatment or screenplay like that writes itself.

But no visible harm, and therefore no call of foul. The irresponsibility behind the enabling of these fantasies, and the publication of them, really should be called out. But under the circumstances it won’t stick. And therefore the people who allowed, enabled, and perpetrated this fraud will never feel any shame.

Why are things like that? Is it because SJWs have magic voodoo charms or something? No, it’s because they’re smarter, more driven, and they’re willing to do smart things in order to achieve their goals.

In Nazi Germany and Fascist Italy, the university students were hard core supporters of Hitler and Mussolini. Fascism and Naziism were youth movements.

Indeed. Youth is ever malleable. The nazi party never got more than about 35% of the vote from germany, and that was only one election. I think only one other election did they even approach or even get near the low 30's percent of the vote.

The upper class was always behind the nazis, however. The entire movement was conceived and born as a distraction from, and a deterrent for Bolshevism before Hitler was ever even hired by the Reichswehr. Entirely a brainchild of the upper class army officer cadre. And then once they gained numbers in the 1920s, then Big Money moved to support them.

So they had the money. And when you have the money, you have the propaganda. And when you have the propaganda, the youth will follow. But most of the older and wiser heads in germany knew what they were from the start. And they never really got much support from the older and wiser germans. But when you have upper class money and the youth, you do not need a majority.

Gays are what, 3% of the population. Yet Gay, gay, gay NOW! seems an all-time preoccupation with the media. Blacks and Hispanics have attitudes somewhere between Eddie Murphy circa "Raw" and say, Machete Star Daniel Trejo towards gays. Howard Stern is not exactly a founding member of GLAAD.

If you want to look at what's driving the passivity of White people (a Black man from say the 1890's would not describe White people as particularly passive about guarding their interests) you can't look at genetics because White people up until fairly recently (1940s onward) had indifferent to hostile views of non-Whites (read old pre-1920 literature to get a flavor of this, particularly the fairly self-serving memoirs -- "he never killed anyone save in self defense!" of John Wesley Hardin available for free at Google Books in epub format) and reproduction patterns have not changed that much that fast for that long to create a genetic change.

IMHO, the confluence of: a huge estrogen load during male puberty from birth control pills and the ubiquity of plastics and soy in the food supply (plastics create estrogen like hormones/chemicals); and the dominance of female consumers in a mass consumer advertising media society explain the lack of male assertiveness.

Gays occupy a much higher level of esteem than say, the late American Sniper Chris Kyle. Why? Because women find gays fascinating. Heck the American Sniper movie only got made with the angle that it was as much about his wife as him.

The White advantages: constantly seeking new technology (the better to kill neighbors with or create more wealth or both), ability to withstand fairly horrific battle conditions or work conditions (compare/contrast fishing in the North Sea with African agriculture such as it is) are not much in times of plenty and stasis and status-seeking. If say Iran seizes control of both the Gulf and bab-al-Mandeb Red Sea straights and closes both to all but their own oil, leading to a permanent oil shortage -- all that changes. Already the Welfare State fails White working class women who get no protection for their daughters in places like Rotherham or Oxfordshire or Sheffield (from Muslim rape/pimping gangs).

Recess doesn't last forever. Easy/good times never last.

Most people, including most educated people with an interest in the arts, were persuaded of the validity of McAuley and Stewart’s “experiment.” The two had deliberately written bad poetry, passed it off under a plausible alias to the country’s most prominent publisher of modernist poetry, and had completely taken him in. It's kind of sad that your primitive brain can't even imagine, as a thought experiment, someone who is actually motivated by considerations of right and wrong, rather than by considerations of what's good for his tribe. Because if you could so imagine, you could compare what happens in the thought experiment to what happens in reality. And then you wouldn't embarrass yourself like this.

If only there were some way to prevent people with your particular patterned brain defect from influencing election results . . .

  19. The American poet John Ashbery said of Ern Malley, in a 1988 interview in the magazine Jacket:

I think it was the first summer I was at Harvard as a student, and I discovered a wonderful bookstore there where I could get modern poetry – which I’d never been able to lay my hands on very much until then – and they had the original edition of The Darkening Ecliptic with the Sidney Nolan cover. […] I always had a taste for sort of wild experimental poetry – of which there really wasn’t very much in English in America at the time – and this poet suited me very well. […] I am obliged to give a final examination in my poetry writing course [at Brooklyn College, NY], which I’m always rather hard put to do, since we haven’t really studied anything. The students have been writing poems of varying degrees of merit, and though I give them reading lists they tend to ignore them, after first demanding them. And the way the course is set up there is no way of examining them on their reading. And anyway they shouldn’t have to pass an examination because they’re poets who are writing poetry, and I don’t like the idea of grading poems. So in order to pass the examination time I had to think of various subterfuges, and one of them is to use one of Malley’s poems and another forbiddingly modern poem – frequently one of Geoffrey Hill’s ‘Mercian Hymns’. And asking them if they can guess which one is the real poem by a respected contemporary poet, and which one is a put-on intended to ridicule modern poetry, and what are their reasons. And I think they are right about fifty per cent of the time, identifying the fraud… [the] fraudulent poem.

Also, in another comment I posted a link to a video where a young woman on the UVa campus — a student, apparently — clearly says the Rolling Stone retraction has not made her ‘believe Jackie any less’. So I think a surprisingly large number of people still think something terrible happened to ‘Jackie’, it’s just that the people involved with the article, as well as the police, messed things up afterward (the same young woman says the RS people ‘showed poor journalism skills’).

  23. Unpunished vandalism rampage…

Pretty much the entire community of European people is undergoing a long, “unpunished vandalism rampage.”

This is not new. It is old and it is not-so-old. It was going in when that Ottoman war camel died in Austria in the 17th century. (You know, the one they just dug up, left there during another attack on Europeans.)

  24. If a black fraternity had been attacked, they would have cancelled classes for a day to discuss racism, just as Oberlin did during KKK-gate.

If a sorority had been attacked, you wouldn’t hear the end of feminists claiming misogyny and demanding punishment of those involved.

But if a white fraternity is attacked, nothing will be done because of anti-white and anti-male bigotry. No doubt the thinking is that if the frat isn’t guilty of this they must be guilty of something else. And even if they are guilty of nothing, intimidating and demoralizing white men is an end in itself. You might even say that it is the end in itself, the central goal of modern liberalism.

Recently, the favorite ploy of campus feminists use to suppress anything they dislike is to claim it makes them feel “unsafe” (see this for one of an infinite number of examples.) and creates a “hostile learning environment”, which are the magic words that bring in Title IX.

The attack on the UVA frat house was more than just vandalism, it was an act of intimidation. The fraternity members had genuine reason to feel unsafe and were experiencing an actual “hostile learning environment”.

    Steve,

You gotta get a load of Rolling Stone’s newest anti-Gentile screed (before they take it down):

Duke Wins One for the Man
    By Michael Weinreb

Here are a couple of things I learned about Grayson Allen by perusing his bio on the Duke basketball website: He graduated cum laude (of course he did) from something called the Providence School, a place that defines itself on its own website as not just Christian, but “boldly Christian,” in case you enjoy your Bible study with a side of audaciousness.

Grayson Allen is only a freshman, but I imagine Duke’s 68-63 NCAA championship victory over Wisconsin on Monday night won’t be the last time he annoys the hell out of a national audience, because with a name and a biography like Grayson Allen’s, how can he be anything but the latest in a long line of Duke guards who appear to have been genetically engineered to get under America’s skin?

I already dislike Grayson Allen (a bit player for the Blue Devils all season who put up 16 points last night), and as I write this, I’ve known who he is for about an hour. I already want to see him fail in some publicly humiliating fashion, merely because of the uniform he is wearing. He is every over-entitled, Izod-clad jerk I’ve ever come across in a bar, and I want him to spill his celebratory sparking cider.

    Is that overly harsh? Well, screw it. I can’t help it right now, Grayson. I’m caught up in the moment. You may be a perfectly nice kid, but it’s a reflexive thing at this point;

And can we talk, for a second, about how Duke’s freshmen – including the aforementioned Grayson Allen, who will no doubt be a vice president at Morgan Stanley someday [Ed: Goldman Sachs won’t be hiring him], if he so desires – scored every single point in the second half for the Blue Devils?

All these years we’ve tried so hard to will our hatred onto Duke’s success, and this is what we’ve come away with: They are better than us. They’re not just obnoxious; they’re boldly obnoxious. In the end, there ain’t a damn thing we can do. The Grayson Allens of the world will always win.

I have no idea what happened in this new shooting — the details. But in such a case, ie when someone flees, what are a cop’s options, or better yet, his responsibilities in the ‘protect and serve’ sense? Should he just let the person run away, try to pursue and call for backup? Suppose he pursues, somehow a physical confrontation occurs, and the suspect manages to wrest away his weapon. Or suppose the guy is fleeing because he knows a trace will show he’s wanted for more serious stuff, and it turns out he’s armed. He runs, is pursued, gets away for the moment, encounters another person, takes a hostage. Later he kills the hostage and then himself. Or the hostage is somehow killed in a later standoff. And then it emerges the cop could have prevented all of that by using deadly force — his weapon — to stop the suspect from fleeing. Oops, sorry about that family of the dead bystander.

I cannot believe a cop is not authorized to use force to stop a suspect — any suspect (yes, especially a black male) — from fleeing. Including deadly force. And when you run from a cop, you are opening yourself to the use of force, including deadly force. This must be understood.

…the guy goes over and cuffs him.

So what? It’s probably standard — to make sure a suspect who appears disabled, but may not be, and who may be armed, cannot grab and use a weapon, eg when the cop’s attention is later diverted (before backup arrives). Although yes it looks bad on the surface.

In the aftermath of Ferguson they immediately charge him with murder. Which after a little thought does not seem to make a lot of sense. But then like I said I do not know the details. Presumably they will become known in time, and perhaps then it will be seen the murder charge is justified. Mal sehen.

No, personally I don't think anyone has the right to flee a man who later appears to have been a homicidal maniac.

That's a bright line rule, and blacks are well aware of it, which is why blacks are constantly fleeing from cops or otherwise doing everything but simply submitting to arrest as unprivileged whites do. The frustration caused by this nearly invariable black behavior was bound to overcome some cop's good sense, sometime, somewhere. So it finally happened.

Indeed. Youth is ever malleable. The nazi party never got more than about 35% of the vote from germany, and that was only one election. I think only one other election did they even approach or even get near the low 30’s percent of the vote.

The titans of industry also intensely disliked the Party’s anti-Semitism. I believe that Turner severely underplays the importance of this factor in explaining why so many of the wealthiest Germans refused to back the Party. Given how easy it is for big business to accommodate itself to Jews, socialists, globalists, and even Communists, this factor was, I suspect, far more important than any objection the wealthy had to the Party’s anti-capitalism.

That is false. German industrialists initially distrusted the Nazis (although they late rode the rearmament gravy train) for their Volkism and agrarianism.

Conservative military officers (especially in the Heer and the Kriegsmarine; the Luftwaffe was much more enthusiastic) also detested the Nazis as wannbes and revolutionaries. They thought they could coopt the Nazis in their revanchist goals and ended up being coopted by the Nazis instead. This is not to say there wasn't enthusiastic Nazis in the military, but there was sufficient distrust and enmity between the Party and the regular armed forces to cause considerable friction, which was one of the reasons why a separate and lavishly-equipped party armed force, the Waffen-SS, existed.

When it comes to SJWs, it seems like a strong offense is usually the best defense. Victimization appears to be a one-way street with them. Perhaps the fraternity members really were intimidated or maybe they just got bad legal advice. But declining to press charges makes me suspicious of the incident in the same way I’d be suspicious of claims from someone like Jackie Coakley.

In the fraternity’s case, it’s clear that their house was actually vandalized. But perhaps they knew the people who did it and didn’t want to see them thrown out of school? Or maybe they staged it themselves in a feeble attempt to turn the victimization tables? I really don’t know, but these are the sorts of questions that journalists should at least consider when investigating a story like this.

    Thanks.

A (very) quick search found this:

Tennessee v. Garner (1985) - specified the conditions under which deadly force could be used in the apprehension of suspected felons. Police shot Garner as he was attempting to escape, ruled that deadly force by the police to prevent the escape of a fleeing felon could be justified only where the suspect could reasonably be thought to represent a significant threat of serious injury or death to the public. "the use of deadly force to prevent the escape of all felony subjects, whatever the circumstances, is constitutionally unreasonable."

Perhaps this is what you refer to. As you suggest, the practical application of this is no doubt very problematic.

If they are rich kids, as seems likely, they will probably have a car and a nice bank account, and a desire to preserve their credit rating by not declaring bankruptcy— which means their parents will bail them out. Also, once sued, the facts will come out in the civil trial, which will put a lot more pressure on the county prosecutor to prosecute criminally.

  55. @Citizen of a Silly Country

Gays are what, 3% of the population. Yet Gay, gay, gay NOW! seems an all-time preoccupation with the media. Blacks and Hispanics have attitudes somewhere between Eddie Murphy circa “Raw” and say, Machete Star Daniel Trejo towards gays. Howard Stern is not exactly a founding member of GLAAD.

If you want to look at what’s driving the passivity of White people (a Black man from say the 1890’s would not describe White people as particularly passive about guarding their interests) you can’t look at genetics because White people up until fairly recently (1940s onward) had indifferent to hostile views of non-Whites (read old pre-1920 literature to get a flavor of this, particularly the fairly self-serving memoirs — “he never killed anyone save in self defense!” of John Wesley Hardin available for free at Google Books in epub format) and reproduction patterns have not changed that much that fast for that long to create a genetic change.

If say Iran seizes control of both the Gulf and bab-al-Mandeb Red Sea straights and closes both to all but their own oil, leading to a permanent oil shortage — all that changes. Already the Welfare State fails White working class women who get no protection for their daughters in places like Rotherham or Oxfordshire or Sheffield (from Muslim rape/pimping gangs).

Recess doesn’t last forever. Easy/good times never last.

More like fewer than 1% of the population in vast swathes of the country since homosexual population is *highly* concentrated in certain metropolitan areas.
  56. Bottom line this stuff is nothing new and predates the Kristallnacht by about three centuries. Virginia Governor Berkeley as a Stuart King noted, hung more people than the King did for the murder of his father, during the Bacon Rebellion.

And guess, what, the Bacon Rebellion was Whites (and some freed Blacks) upset about Berkeley doing nothing and even protecting marauding Indians against White settlers. Motivation: Berkeley had huge land tracts on the coast which would have been worth much less had the settlers been able to seize inland Indian lands.

The Carolina (both North and South) Regulators, the Committee of Vigilance in San Francisco, various posses in the Old West, all formed out of the unwillingness of authorities to crack down on well-connected criminals who were allowed to do what they want. In Gold Rush San Francisco, murder newspaper editor James King of William (yes, his actual name) in broad daylight with plenty of witnesses.

All this lawlessness tolerated will eventually create a vigilante group or two, it is a huge challenge when the State allows the majority (or the most productive and the dominant group in the military) to be attacked by others at will. I.E. why have a State at all and why not create your own in the failure vacuum of the State?

See Iraq and the Shia Militias.

Unfortunately, the Supreme Court ruled somewhere in the 1980's that police can't use deadly force on fleeing suspects.

    Thanks.

A (very) quick search found this:

Tennessee v. Garner (1985) – specified the conditions under which deadly force could be used in the apprehension of suspected felons. Police shot Garner as he was attempting to escape, ruled that deadly force by the police to prevent the escape of a fleeing felon could be justified only where the suspect could reasonably be thought to represent a significant threat of serious injury or death to the public. “the use of deadly force to prevent the escape of all felony subjects, whatever the circumstances, is constitutionally unreasonable.”

Perhaps this is what you refer to. As you suggest, the practical application of this is no doubt very problematic.

"Even though I have read way more books and have volunteered at various community events for women’s rights and minority outreach the girls still salivate over the perfect rich white boys. I’m white too and I deserve a little bit of recognition for my selfless hard work and dedication to social justice. "

That "Mystery" guy is a true pain in the ass, Bro. I'm sitting there trying to have lunch with my family and I keep getting these texts from him:

"Truth, you have to help me! I'm in Italy at a cafe next to these three 9's, two Italian, one Swedish, should I open with a neg, or an alpha display???"

You should try going through a couple of months of that shit.

  59. So, Fred Reed is right. Get rid of the police. They do not administer justice impartially and have become a real social nuisance now. They are so emotionally overwrought sometimes (Fred makes this point very clear) and so obsessed with “officer safety” (sometimes at civilians’ considerable expense) that we must consider alternatives.

The young man in South Carolina was stopped for…a broken taillight? Yeah, right. And once the motorist pulls over, “D’ya mind if I check out your glove compartment, boy? You wouldn’t have any reason to object to that, would ya, boy?” How many of these cop vs. black encounters do we have to go through? Let the “brutha’s” smoke herb till they can’t stand up any more. Who cares? I sure don’t.

Let the frat boys have AR15’s to fire at the “good” SJW’s trashing their house. If they shoot one dead, it’s another college space opened up for a deserving youth.

Let’s go back to Renaissance Italy! Let’s raise a glass of Chianti to beautiful women, works of artistic genius, and vendetta! F**k da police!

Police murder three people a day.

Good data on that is not easy to find/apparently in the past has not been systematically collected. Which will surely change now.

In 2011, according to data I collected, police officers in the United States shot 1,146 people, killing 607. Between January 1, 2011 and January 1, 2012 I used the Internet to compile a national database of police involved shootings.

So unless killings ('murders' according to you) by police have dramatically increased after 2011, or this guy's data for 2011 represents a dramatic undercount, your claim is not correct. In fact it could be said to be wildly incorrect.

Not that your comment should be taken seriously anyway.

The upper class was always behind the nazis, however.

This is not to say there wasn’t enthusiastic Nazis in the military, but there was sufficient distrust and enmity between the Party and the regular armed forces to cause considerable friction, which was one of the reasons why a separate and lavishly-equipped party armed force, the Waffen-SS, existed.
