I saw some of the Twitter videos; they looked fake to me. I think both sides were antifa, which also seemed to be the majority comment response.
The ones I saw took place in the daytime, for better production values. Who riots in the daytime? Real antifa like fire and chaos and black outfits, all better in the dark.

Back in the town of my birth (Chicago) some fifty or so years ago I was running around with a crowd from the Cabrini-Green housing project. I had met them through some mutual friends from Waller High School.I think the main reason I was tolerated by these guys and could even hang out with them in the projects with relative safety was because I always had really good drugs. Be that as it may, I recall attending quite a few wakes and funerals at parlors and churches on Division.
Many of the deceased were the result of gang warfare. Even with my privileged access to Cabrini-Green I knew better than going there unaccompanied and I knew there were certain buildings I should not enter under any circumstances. If I recollect correctly the red buildings were off limits but the white buildings were (relatively) safe.
I recall wakes being interrupted by opposing gang members who proceeded to trash the funeral parlor. I remember one instance where the coffin was upended and the body ended up on the floor. I do remember shots being thrown on occasion.
Some of the people I hung with were psychopathic criminals. Some were murderers who would throw down at the drop of a hat. I was with some of them when they were stopped by police. Nothing invited a police stop more quickly than black and white together in a car. Once I was walking with a friend on Diversey near Clark Street and a cruiser pulled alongside and detained us. I don’t recall a single instance where my black acquaintances were antagonistic or uncooperative in regards to the police. They knew that CPD would give an ass kicking at the slightest provocation. Sometimes for no reason other than they felt like it.
None of my acquaintances who got dead were the victims of a drive-by. The violence, at least in the circles with which I was familiar, was much more personal. It was usually someone walking up and popping their victim up close.
Just a reminder – the clip isn’t real. It was some kind of marketing for one of the Planet of the Apes movies.

Cuomo won his third term in 2018 with 60 percent of the vote, is not term-limited, and the NY GOP has basically collapsed. So he can be governor for life even if he sorely pisses off 40 percent of the state — and with both state legislatures now in Dem control he can order anything he wants.
