OK, everybody, you got the message: “the French” don’t exist anymore. Now there are just people with Frenchness.

Same with “whites.” They are now people with whiteness. So when the Diversity Inclusion Equity movement say “Abolish whiteness” they don’t mean abolish white people, just what makes them white, like their home equity.

British entrepreneur James Dyson has said that on current trends Poland will have a higher standard of living than Britain within 10 years.

That will be quite some turnaround for Brits like me who are old enough to remember the fall of communism. I wonder how many of the East Europeans currently living here will choose to remain given the demographic and economic trends?

Agreed. But there's nothing wrong with having finishing schools. It's just that instead of "finishing" our universities "roughening" and "cruding" and "toxicing" schools.

It's obvious from recent events that most young white women--young women in general--badly need "finishing school".

Among the topics in the curriculum:
    -- don't get drunk
-- black men are not acceptable romantic partners (they properly belong to black women)
    -- keep your legs crossed

I'll toss in that I don't think this tedious verbalist hoop jumping is very damaging. Why say in two words what you can say in six?

It's so clumsy, all it tends to do is annoy normies and actually keep them aware that they are continually being propagandized.

Much more sinister is the stuff journalists--and the AP stylebook--dictate around race and crime. By basically censoring racial information it actively keeps readers heads foggier and confused about the world, less aware of HBD patterns, and more susceptible to minoritarian lying.

Now capitalizing "White?" Rather ironic, though the irony is of course lost on those who didn't bother to teach basic accepted precepts of written English grammar, punctuation, and capitalization. Capitalizing "White" implies that it's a race, an ethnicity or - God forbid! - a nationality. The capitalization transforms "white" into a proper noun or adjective.

But like if you were really forced to believe it. That all meaning is drained. We are just existing beings with nothing at our core essence.

This is good news. We need to know how many real white people are in this country and how many “white people” are arabs and other non-europeans. Imagine trying to understand history or the world today while assuming that arabs and europeans are the same. That would be absurd. There is a massive bonus to this, of course. Increasing awareness that europeans and MENA people are not the same race also makes people more aware that jews are a MENA people from outside of europe. That awareness radically reduces the effectiveness of jewish crypsis strategies and other manipulations of europeans. Hard to claim you are a “fellow white” when you are legally an arab.

Ashkenazi Jews' ancestry is majority European. Sure, they've also got a lot of MENA ancestry, but so do Greeks and Southern Italians. What makes Jews different is their culture and the way they see themselves, but everyone's already aware of that, so you're out to lunch with whatever it is you're hoping to get for yourself out of this.

Imagine trying to understand history or the world today while assuming that arabs and europeans are the same.

Imagine trying to understand history or the world today while assuming that there is something binding together e.g. Swedes and Serbs but not Serbs and Lebanese Christians.

What even is Europeanness, other than just an address? It's not a genetic category, or one based on physical appearance, and it's not much of a cultural one either. There's also no European identity other than the globalist, EU one. It means nothing. Religion used to mean something in binding different peoples together, though not nearly as much as some today would like to believe. "The West"... Well, we've all seen how it's all turned out. Obviously, the US needed some kind of White identity for its different peoples to share and assimilate into, but no meaningful identity along those lines exists in Europe.

Either way, US racial categories shouldn't be based on some kind of ultimate truth about whiteness or whatever, but on what's best for the US. And I don't really think this is a good move. People already know that whites are declining. In other Anglosphere countries, MENA people aren't counted as white, and it hasn't exactly made white people in those countries care about white decline any more than white Americans do.

This just makes it that much easier for yet another growing group to get all sorts of minority goodies and affirmative action, and that much less likely that those among them who are good candidates for it actually assimilate into whiteness (the ratio has changed a lot over the last couple of decades, but the US still gets a lot of Christian MENA migrants). Of course, assimilating into whiteness in today's urban America is basically assimilating into anti-whiteness, so looking at it that way, I guess it's no great loss? Theoretically, it does also pave the way for people of Italian, Greek, Spanish or Portuguese ancestry to attempt their own flight, basically undoing American whiteness as we know it, but I don't really think they'd get too far.

I doubt it. I'd guess that almost all Ashkenazis would still click "White" over "MENA".

Now if you included an "Ashkenazi" option, you may get different results. Of course, that will never happen.

    , @Diversity Heretic

Agree with your comment! Removing MENA people from the White category will also bring home to the White community that pays attention to such things how quickly Whites are becoming a mere plurality in the U.S. population as a whole.

There is a pretense that condemning "Whiteness" is not the same as condemning white people as white people, but rather it is a pernicious system of thought that is being condemned. But suppose I were to expound on the evils of "Tallness", while insisting that I wasn't saying there was anything intrinsically bad about tall people. Would anyone accept that for even a minute? Tall people intrinsically possess the characteristic of tallness, it isn't something that can be removed from them, so if tallness is bad it follows logically that there is something intrinsically bad about tall people. If those who condemn whiteness did not want to look like they were motivated by race hate, they should have called their system of thought something other than "Whiteness".

This is good news. We need to know how many real white people are in this country and how many "white people" are arabs and other non-europeans. Hard to claim you are a "fellow white" when you are legally an arab.

Ashkenazi Jews’ ancestry is majority European. Sure, they’ve also got a lot of MENA ancestry, but so do Greeks and Southern Italians. What makes Jews different is their culture and the way they see themselves, but everyone’s already aware of that, so you’re out to lunch with whatever it is you’re hoping to get for yourself out of this.

It’s not a genetic category, or one based on physical appearance, and it’s not much of a cultural one either. There’s also no European identity other than the globalist, EU one. It means nothing. Religion used to mean something in binding different peoples together, though not nearly as much as some today would like to believe. “The West”… Well, we’ve all seen how it’s all turned out. Obviously, the US needed some kind of White identity for its different peoples to share and assimilate into, but no meaningful identity along those lines exists in Europe.

Either way, US racial categories shouldn’t be based on some kind of ultimate truth about whiteness or whatever, but on what’s best for the US. And I don’t really think this is a good move. People already know that whites are declining. In other Anglosphere countries, MENA people aren’t counted as white, and it hasn’t exactly made white people in those countries care about white decline any more than white Americans do.

Of course, assimilating into whiteness in today’s urban America is basically assimilating into anti-whiteness, so looking at it that way, I guess it’s no great loss? Theoretically, it does also pave the way for people of Italian, Greek, Spanish or Portuguese ancestry to attempt their own flight, basically undoing American whiteness as we know it, but I don’t really think they’d get too far.

Freud called this "the narcissism of small differences". For example, to an outsider, Catholics and Protestants in Northern Ireland appear to be pretty much indistinguishable, but they hate each other much more than either group hates say Eskimos. The fact that Jews are 80% European makes people like ATBOTL hate them MORE, not less.

The Nazis were obsessed with the idea that Jews could be "passing" as white and maybe get in the pants of the Frauleins or cheat you in a business deal because you didn't know that you were dealing with a Jew. So they took various measures to "out" the Jews. First of all, they tried to train children in Jew-spotting. "A Jew has a nose shaped like the number 6." This didn't really work all that well because as 80% European people, a lot of Jews are tough to spot on sight and not all have #6 shaped noses. So they tried additional measures like forcing all Jewish men to take the additional name "Israel" and women the name "Sara". And then to wear yellow arm bands with a Star of David. That way there could be no mistake.

I think for Brazil it's definitely been a good approach. It was never going to be any kind of utopia and crime was always going to be an issue, but traditionally its approach to race kept anti-whiteness at quite a low level. Sadly, Brazil has been changing and emphasizing race more, leading of course to anti-whiteness increasing. Americanization ruins everything.

With France, it's more difficult. Laws forbidding any kind of tracking of racial demographics in a traditionally white country experiencing mass immigration seem like an extremely bad thing just on a gut level. Of course, there are ways to get around it and get the numbers (like sickle cell testing) but I imagine it makes it more difficult to raise awareness. And, unlike in Latin America, any benefits of such an approach when it comes to diffusing racial tension could only ever be very limited, primarily because France's immigrant population is largely Muslim and sees its hosts as a civilizational enemy to be despised and subjugated.

On the other hand, though, host populations don't seem to be showing much of a reaction to being replaced in countries that do track racial demographics. If anything, as sad as it is, the native French seem to be voting about as right as a Western European population can be expected to. So, when it comes to what ultimately really matters, I'm not sure it makes much of a difference either way. No matter how we approach the process, we're all obediently acquiescing to subjugation and replacement.

If Ukraine loses and surrenders to Russia, then they lose a fraction of their country which they had lost already, and which they were actively shelling and killing for years before the “war” even started. If Russia wins, Ukraine stops getting its people killed and its country destroyed, and they get ruled over by a corrupt Slavic dictatorship. Wow, bet they never seen that before.

If Ukraine wins, then they get ruled over by a corrupt Jewish/US dictatorship, plus they get looted, plus they get immivaded by endless tidal waves of negroes, Muslims, and Asians, thank you EU. Who would knowingly die for such a thing?

If there were a parallel situation to Ukraine/Russia with New Brunswick/U.S. (note: I'm deliberately omitting the "The" because we have rights too. We too have the right to arbitrarily change names and meanings) , it's hard to imagine New Brunswickans caring a whit about staying latched to Le Canada - especially their neighboring province with its "frenchness."

I suspect, Ukranians have been besieged with anti-Russian propaganda (i.e., Ukranians are the victims of asymmetrical warfare).

The Ukranians are damned if they do and damned if they don't. Logically it would make sense for them to pick the latter. At least then they won't be killed in battle and they can expect to be relatively safe from being "liberalized" by ghouls from U.S. federal bureaucracies.

    But propaganda...

Isaiah Berlin, in his famous essay on Tolstoy, “The Hedgehog and the Fox”, writes on influential reactionary French author Joseph de Maistre : ….

For Maistre, as later for Barres, true knowledge–wisdom–lies in an understanding of, and communion with, la terre et les morts –the great unalterable movement created by the links between the dead and the living and the yet unborn and the land on which they live; and it is this, perhaps, or something akin to it, that, in their respective fashions, Burke and Taine, and their many imitators, have attempted to convey.

La terre et les morts– Americans don’t have this. And cannot comprehend it.

That means you are ready to fight for your motherland even if it means death, destruction & suffering in the next 500 years.

Yes, if that was true there would be no point, but it's a lie. Is this true of Hungary or Poland or Romania? BTW, is there no immivasion in Russia? Are there not 1.5 million Muslims living in Moscow?

    https://www.aljazeera.com/features/2015/7/22/despite-animosity-moscows-muslims-change-the-city

Everything that the Putinists accuse Ukraine of is true in Russia. They complain about Azov but Russia has plenty of its own Nazi skinheads. They complain about immivasion but Russia is chock full of Muslims.

The Ukrainians are fighting to maintain their national existence since Putin told them that they are not a "real" people and invaded their country. There were a lot of Ukrainian citizens who, up until Putin invaded their country, spoke only Russian and didn't identify strongly with Ukraine, but now that Putin has tried to kill them they have changed their minds and have become Ukrainian patriots. There's nothing like someone invading your country to wake up your patriotism.

Everything Putin has done has backfired. He also managed to get NATO enlarged and bring NATO troops to within 100 miles of St. Petersburg, thus undoing one of the great accomplishments of his predecessor Stalin.

Putin probably thinks of himself as another Stalin (although publicly he mentions only Peter the Great) and constantly blabs about Russia's victory in the Great Patriotic War. He conveniently forgets that in that war, the Americans backed the Russian side and sent them an endless number of armaments, without which they could not have won, but this time he managed to get the Americans onto the side of his enemies.

America was initially reluctant to arm the Ukrainians and not nearly as generous as we were to Stalin, to whom we sent more than 11,000 planes, over 6,000 tanks and tank destroyers and 300,000 trucks and other military vehicles. However, each Russian atrocity made the Americans and Europeans less reluctant to do so and he has finally convinced the West to send tanks. Genius Putin, not Zelensky, gets the real credit for the Abrams and the Leopards.

The Ukrainians would rather go with the West because they believe this will make them richer and freer. That's what most people really care about. Putin had it in his power to convince them otherwise, by turning Russia into a healthy traditionalist society that would prove more attractive than the decadent West. He did seem to make some gestures in this direction, and I was rooting for him, but frankly he never seemed that serious about it. Instead of one man rule, Putin needed to build a social movement that could take root and grow even after he was gone, but he never got close to doing that, and I don't think he even tried. I'm not at all surprised he ended up taking the corrupt power-mad autocrat route, because that's always where he seemed to be headed.

I think you forget that the people of the Donbass and Luhansk, and the Armed Forces personnel there, all of whom declared autonomy in 2014/5 are also Ukrainians, and 2014-22 were attacked by the Ukrainian state, with many civilian deaths.

The "Russian Invasion" is more like "Russian intervention" in a Ukrainian civil war. Unlike the US invasions/intervention in Syria/Kosovo/Libya. all of which were ostensibly for protection of the civil population, Russia has the excuse that the population in Luhansk/Donbass actually are ethnic Russians, literally their people.

The Western Ukrainians may be fighting hard, but for rulers who hate them, most of whom are in Washington. It wouldn't be the first time people fought and died for nothing.

Curious about his grandmother's generation and what they did in the war, he decided three years ago to send letters to local newspapers across the country asking for those who lived through the war to write to him with their experiences.

He rounded off his request with this question: 'Are you happy with how your country has turned out? What do you think your fallen comrades would have made of life in 21st-century Britain?'

What is extraordinary about the 150 replies he received, which he has now published as a book, is their vehement insistence that those who made the ultimate sacrifice in the war would now be turning in their graves.

There is the occasional bright spot - one veteran describes Britain as 'still the best country in the world' - but the overall tone is one of profound disillusionment.

'I sing no song for the once-proud country that spawned me,' wrote a sailor who fought the Japanese in the Far East, 'and I wonder why I ever tried.'

Typical of your commentary on the Ukraine war. The poster asks a question based on a false premise, and rather than clarifying, you simply use the opportunity to repeat propaganda.

The false premise is that the Ukrainians are fighting so hard. Ukrainians are individuals. In reality, the Ukrainian military and the Ukrainian government are continuing to sacrifice men and materiale, but the ones making the decisions are not dying on the front line, and as multiple examples show, the government is full of corruption and influenced by violent and ideologically-driven pressure groups (whose leaders are also not dying on the front line, I'll wager), not to mention the US blob.

It's impossible to know what Ukrainians as individuals would do because emigration of both men and eligible women has been banned under the general mobilization being imposed on the people and free expression has been curtailed under martial law measures. Perhaps a measure of the true state of Ukrainian dedication to dying were the protests by wives that occurred earlier in the war. One was in the western region around Lviv, where women were protesting having their men sent into the conflict (although I can't find an article about that now), and another was this protest of Mariupol garrison wives, who very sensibly wanted their men to be evacuated instead of dying pointlessly...

Notice how they wrote their protest signs in English. That's because they're beseeching people like you, Steve, to recognize their plight--the plight of common people caught in a geopolitical game being played by Foggy Bottom and Langley and Brussels--and exert political pressure. But you just want more and more graves for future wreaths to be laid on.

At Omaha Beach, the first off the boat demolition crews who suffered high casualties trying to clear the landing craft obstacles were all volunteers. In fact, in order to get on those teams, they had to go through the original version of navy SEAL hell week training, so every one was totally committed and prepared to suffer. Nothing like that can be said for the Ukrainians (or the Russians) dying in places like Mariupol or Bakhmut. In fact, due to information blackouts and propaganda regimes, for all you know, the dying Ukrainians may not be any more invested than the poor convicts being cynically sacrificed by the Wagner group.

In the face of sky-high rents, President Joe Biden is rolling out a new set of principles the White House is calling a "Renters Bill of Rights" in an effort to improve rent affordability and protections for tenants.

The president is directing the Federal Housing Finance Agency (FHFA) to examine limits on rent increases for future investments and actions promoting renter protections. The Federal Trade Commission (FTC) and the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau (CFPB) have been tapped to root out practices that unfairly prevent applicants and tenants from accessing or staying in housing.

Yes. The idea that the French are cowardly or "surrender monkeys" is inaccurate. They lost most of a generation in (a victorious) WW1, then barely 20 years later - with an obsolete army and terrible officer corps - failed to repel the Wermacht that nobody else managed to repel either (until Hitler stupidly decided to open a second front).

For most of recorded history the French have been a formidable people, martially speaking. They get a pass for WW2 - it's understandable that they weren't up for losing another generation.

I think you forget that the people of the Donbass and Luhansk, and the Armed Forces personnel there, all of whom declared autonomy in 2014/5 are also Ukrainians, and 2014-22 were attacked by the Ukrainian state, with many civilian deaths.

The “Russian Invasion” is more like “Russian intervention” in a Ukrainian civil war.

It wouldn’t be the first time people fought and died for nothing.

    https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-1229643/This-isnt-Britain-fought-say-unknown-warriors-WWII.html

Curious about his grandmother’s generation and what they did in the war, he decided three years ago to send letters to local newspapers across the country asking for those who lived through the war to write to him with their experiences.

He rounded off his request with this question: ‘Are you happy with how your country has turned out? What do you think your fallen comrades would have made of life in 21st-century Britain?’

What is extraordinary about the 150 replies he received, which he has now published as a book, is their vehement insistence that those who made the ultimate sacrifice in the war would now be turning in their graves.

There is the occasional bright spot – one veteran describes Britain as ‘still the best country in the world’ – but the overall tone is one of profound disillusionment.

‘I sing no song for the once-proud country that spawned me,’ wrote a sailor who fought the Japanese in the Far East, ‘and I wonder why I ever tried.’

It's a contentious question, but I understand that

    1) it wasn't Russians, but the Communists, led by a Georgian, who were in charge of the Soviet Union, and ran the campaign against the landowners - the minister in charge of collectivisation, thought to be the main driver of the famine, was a Belorussian Jew, Yacov Yakovlev (ne Epstein).

Soviet Communism was by no means a phenomenon only of ethnic Russians, who were in fact under-represented compared with their proportion of the population.

    https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Yakov_Yakovlev

    2) the implementation of the collectivisation policy in Ukraine was the joint responsibility of an ethnic Russian and a Ukrainian Jew. Of the five named people accused by Ukraine of genocide in 2010, the other two were a Ukrainian, a Russian and a Pole

    3) it wasn't as if Ukraine was the only place where famine occurred.

    https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Soviet_famine_of_1930%E2%80%931933

The Soviet famine of 1930–1933 was a famine in the major grain-producing areas of the Soviet Union, including Ukraine, Northern Caucasus, Volga Region, Kazakhstan, the South Urals, and West Siberia.

Freud called this “the narcissism of small differences”. The fact that Jews are 80% European makes people like ATBOTL hate them MORE, not less.

The Nazis were obsessed with the idea that Jews could be “passing” as white and maybe get in the pants of the Frauleins or cheat you in a business deal because you didn’t know that you were dealing with a Jew. So they took various measures to “out” the Jews. First of all, they tried to train children in Jew-spotting. “A Jew has a nose shaped like the number 6.” This didn’t really work all that well because as 80% European people, a lot of Jews are tough to spot on sight and not all have #6 shaped noses. So they tried additional measures like forcing all Jewish men to take the additional name “Israel” and women the name “Sara”. And then to wear yellow arm bands with a Star of David. That way there could be no mistake.

The conflict in Ulster is based on centuries of living side by side a two different, competing groups. The Anglo-Scottish Protestants moved to Ulster without adopting local norms thus cementing group differences. Irish Catholics likewise refused to adopt to the new arrivals norms. It has nothing to do with how much they have in common.

If Eskimos moved to Belfast without adopting local norms, they would have conflicts with the locals.

Why do Jews have centuries of conflict with Germans and Russians? Because they actively stayed a separate group by not adopting to local norms. How can one even know they are Jewish if their ancestors did not choose to act as a distinct group?

Jack, does it ever, ever occur to you that the fact that (many) Jews openly discriminate in favor of other Jews and against non-Jews is part of the reason for some people's antipathy towards Jews?

No, it's not fair: it is not right to blame all Jews for the actions of some Jews.

But it is also not right for (some) Jews to discriminate against non-Jews.

And everyone knows that does happen.

Whether it is Gypsies or overseas Chinese in Southeast Asia or Jews in the West, when one group ostentatiously sets itself apart from the larger society there is likely to be trouble. And if a lot of members of that outsider group openly proclaim their lack of commitment to the larger society, there is going to be trouble.

To put it bluntly, if one group of people in a society behave in a tribalist way, they are likely to evoke a tribalist response.

A well-known example is the famous statement by Norman Podhoretz:

I think they warrant a revival among Jews of that ancient and prematurely laughed-off question, Is it good for the Jews? That is to say, I think that Jews must once again begin to look at proposals and policies from the point of view of the Jewish interest, and must once again begin to ask what the consequences, if any, of any proposal or policy are likely to be so far as the Jewish position is concerned.

And you most emphatically behave this way yourself. I and other commenters here have often been critical of Islam and Christianity. You did not object.

But recently when I pointed out some objective but negative facts about Judaism... well, you made it clear that that is verboten.

In April, many Jewish families will celebrate Passover. And what Passover is about is that YHWH sent the Angel of Death to kill the first-born in all Egyptian families while leaving Jewish families alone.

That is a horrifying story. And to celebrate that horrifying story is evil.

    Deeply and profoundly evil.

It is as if non-Jewish Americans had a holiday every year to celebrate the Holocaust because, after all, most Christian families were "passed over" by the Nazi angels of death.

But for me to merely point out this simple fact means that I will be labeled "anti-Semitic," even though I am also critical of Islam, Hinduism, Christianity, etc.

And heaven help anyone who applies the same standards of judgment to the state of Israel as to all other countries around the world!

Can you see why this leads, sadly, to antipathy towards Jews?

Everything that the Putinists accuse Ukraine of is true in Russia. They complain about Azov but Russia has plenty of its own Nazi skinheads. They complain about immivasion but Russia is chock full of Muslims.

The Ukrainians are fighting to maintain their national existence since Putin told them that they are not a “real” people and invaded their country. There were a lot of Ukrainian citizens who, up until Putin invaded their country, spoke only Russian and didn’t identify strongly with Ukraine, but now that Putin has tried to kill them they have changed their minds and have become Ukrainian patriots. There’s nothing like someone invading your country to wake up your patriotism.

Everything Putin has done has backfired. He also managed to get NATO enlarged and bring NATO troops to within 100 miles of St. Petersburg, thus undoing one of the great accomplishments of his predecessor Stalin.

Putin probably thinks of himself as another Stalin (although publicly he mentions only Peter the Great) and constantly blabs about Russia’s victory in the Great Patriotic War.

It is true, it's not a lie, and there most definitely is a point, as you well know. Neither Hungary, Poland, or Romania has yet fallen under the dominion of the Evil Empire, but that's most assuredly in the works. So that's a completely false comparison —for now.

We've sent well over $100 billion to the Ukraine recently (as you also know) and were well on our way to $200 billion. All while our own nation crumbles.

In the face of sky-high rents, President Joe Biden is rolling out a new set of principles the White House is calling a “Renters Bill of Rights” in an effort to improve rent affordability and protections for tenants.

But suppose I were to expound on the evils of “Tallness”, while insisting that I wasn’t saying there was anything intrinsically bad about tall people. Would anyone accept that for even a minute? Tall people intrinsically possess the characteristic of tallness, it isn’t something that can be removed from them, so if tallness is bad it follows logically that there is something intrinsically bad about tall people. If those who condemn whiteness did not want to look like they were motivated by race hate, they should have called their system of thought something other than “Whiteness”.

"Feminism has a lot to answer for by giving young adults the impressions women and men have similar desires."

Yes and by telling young women they can dress and behave any way they want to without having to deal with the consequences.

Judging by their many pics on social media, she and her sorority sisters typically dressed up very provocatively. And the bar where she's said to have been a regular was very rowdy. And of course, young males who are not LSU students also frequented that bar for obvious reasons. And she allegedly used a fake ID to buy drinks. It was a perfect storm of bad choices and poor judgement.

The feminists say it's an issue of "rape culture" and has nothing to do with under-aged drinking. But that's b.s. It has to do with giving immature teens adult choices without adult responsibilities. The worst part is nothing good will come of this. All the wrong conclusions will be drawn. The narrative is too entrenched.

    Good question.

Yes, according to the footage from the security cameras, she actually ran across the parking lot to catch up with the guys as they were going to their car.

Two of them assaulted her in the car, then since she was too drunk to give them her address, they let her out at the entrance to a subdivision, where she said she'd get an Uber home. She was standing in the street when a share ride car hit her.

Two of the adult suspects are black, the driver is white. I'm guessing the unnamed juvenile suspect is white, too.

  163. “The scary thing is how many Southerners are aware of race but raise their kids to delude themselves and follow Northern egalitarian ideals.”

Totally agree. It’s what I call the “binary thinking” that liberals push on us that causes so much trouble. We’re supposed to believe there are lots of different genders, which is idiotic. But when it comes to their pet causes, we must embrace them fully in every aspect of our lives or else be accused of bigotry. We have only two options. Be good whites or be racists.

Thus you can’t feel neutral or even positive toward black people while acknowledging it’s safer to keep a certain distance from them. No, if you’re not willing to live next door to them, date them, etc. you hate them and you’re a bigot, a racist.

I will always cherish memories of the good times I had with my black friends in my old mixed-race neighborhood. I’m very aware that not all black people are dangerous. But enough of them are–to other blacks as well as to other races–that I would not willingly live in a mixed-race neighborhood again.

You can be courteous to people you’d never choose to date or marry or have children with or live next to without embracing them as such. But liberals don’t allow a respectful distance between groups. And so you have cases like this.

    Great point, Kylie.

About ten years ago I formed my thoughts onto this into "stupid leftist binarism". (Which admittedly isn't that great.)

Basically what you said. In the real organic world, there are infinite shades of gray. Things that are praiseworthy, even heroic. Down through solid bedrock civilized behavior. Down through things that normal. On down to things that are somewhat undesirable, but inevitable--discouraged but tolerated. On through things that are really undesirable and require strong social sanction ... on down to things that you are willing to make illegal to discourage, on down to serious crimes.

But for minoritarians ... there is no gray. If it isn't outright criminal you're a bigot/prude oppressor for not embracing it. Approved "diversity" must be celebrated. And you need to be sanctioned, disciplined and ideally--if they had their way--imprisoned.

What is extraordinary about the 150 replies he received, which he has now published as a book, is their vehement insistence that those who made the ultimate sacrifice in the war would now be turning in their graves.

I think it's you who might want to visit Specsavers. A Swede would stick out more in most of Southern Europe than a Levantine Christian or a Georgian. Ashkenazi Jews and European Sephardic Jews are perfectly passable in all of Southern Europe. Hardly surprising, given that they're mostly Southern European genetically.

As for "the Faith", a Swede (if a Christian one can even be fond at this point) is a heretic in all of Southern Europe. Not so for a Levantine Christian or Georgian.

Sure, "Europe" was once imprecise shorthand for something. Something that even then was a bunch of squabbling peoples, and aristocracies with little sympathy or concern even for places belonging to their own denomination. You'll find plenty of examples of that even looking into Europe's various wars against its greatest historical foe, Islam.

It is true, it’s not a lie, and there most definitely is a point, as you well know. Neither Hungary, Poland, or Romania has yet fallen under the dominion of the Evil Empire, but that’s most assuredly in the works. So that’s a completely false comparison —for now.

"The scary thing is how many Southerners are aware of race but raise their kids to delude themselves and follow Northern egalitarian ideals."

Totally agree. It's what I call the "binary thinking" that liberals push on us that causes so much trouble. We're supposed to believe there are lots of different genders, which is idiotic. But when it comes to their pet causes, we must embrace them fully in every aspect of our lives or else be accused of bigotry. We have only two options. Be good whites or be racists.

Thus you can't feel neutral or even positive toward black people while acknowledging it's safer to keep a certain distance from them. No, if you're not willing to live next door to them, date them, etc. you hate them and you're a bigot, a racist.

I will always cherish memories of the good times I had with my black friends in my old mixed-race neighborhood. I'm very aware that not all black people are dangerous. But enough of them are--to other blacks as well as to other races--that I would not willingly live in a mixed-race neighborhood again.

You can be courteous to people you'd never choose to date or marry or have children with or live next to without embracing them as such. But liberals don't allow a respectful distance between groups. And so you have cases like this.

    Great point, Kylie.

About ten years ago I formed my thoughts onto this into “stupid leftist binarism”. (Which admittedly isn’t that great.)

Basically what you said. In the real organic world, there are infinite shades of gray. Things that are praiseworthy, even heroic. Down through solid bedrock civilized behavior. Down through things that normal. On down to things that are somewhat undesirable, but inevitable–discouraged but tolerated. On through things that are really undesirable and require strong social sanction … on down to things that you are willing to make illegal to discourage, on down to serious crimes.

But for minoritarians … there is no gray. If it isn’t outright criminal you’re a bigot/prude oppressor for not embracing it. Approved “diversity” must be celebrated. And you need to be sanctioned, disciplined and ideally–if they had their way–imprisoned.

This begs the question, what is the purpose of census racial categories and do we need them at all? Brazil and France avoid them.

    Replies: @Anonymous

I think for Brazil it’s definitely been a good approach. It was never going to be any kind of utopia and crime was always going to be an issue, but traditionally its approach to race kept anti-whiteness at quite a low level. Sadly, Brazil has been changing and emphasizing race more, leading of course to anti-whiteness increasing. Americanization ruins everything.

With France, it’s more difficult. And, unlike in Latin America, any benefits of such an approach when it comes to diffusing racial tension could only ever be very limited, primarily because France’s immigrant population is largely Muslim and sees its hosts as a civilizational enemy to be despised and subjugated.

On the other hand, though, host populations don’t seem to be showing much of a reaction to being replaced in countries that do track racial demographics. If anything, as sad as it is, the native French seem to be voting about as right as a Western European population can be expected to. So, when it comes to what ultimately really matters, I’m not sure it makes much of a difference either way. No matter how we approach the process, we’re all obediently acquiescing to subjugation and replacement.

Sorry OT, but this has gone on long enough and I have to ask, because I honestly don't know.

Why on earth are the Ukrainians fighting so hard against Russia?

Think of it for a moment as a simple cost/benefit calculus.

If Ukraine loses and surrenders to Russia, then they lose a fraction of their country which they had lost already, and which they were actively shelling and killing for years before the "war" even started.

One assumes that the purpose of joining NATO would be to avoid having one's country trashed and turned into a parking lot by one's enemies, but oops, too late, that already happened.

So... why the heck are they still fighting? I know why the Jews and the US (BIRM) are urging them to fight, because it benefits them, but how does it benefit Ukraine?

The Ukrainians would rather go with the West because they believe this will make them richer and freer. That’s what most people really care about. Putin had it in his power to convince them otherwise, by turning Russia into a healthy traditionalist society that would prove more attractive than the decadent West. He did seem to make some gestures in this direction, and I was rooting for him, but frankly he never seemed that serious about it. Instead of one man rule, Putin needed to build a social movement that could take root and grow even after he was gone, but he never got close to doing that, and I don’t think he even tried. I’m not at all surprised he ended up taking the corrupt power-mad autocrat route, because that’s always where he seemed to be headed.

Had Ukraine joined the EU, the cost of living would have gone up as it invariably does when a country joins the EU, nevermind the euro currency. Just look at Romania or Bulgaria: young people have left in droves because they cannot afford to live in their country due to low wages and a rising cost of living.

Typical of your commentary on the Ukraine war. The poster asks a question based on a false premise, and rather than clarifying, you simply use the opportunity to repeat propaganda.

The false premise is that the Ukrainians are fighting so hard. Ukrainians are individuals. In reality, the Ukrainian military and the Ukrainian government are continuing to sacrifice men and materiale, but the ones making the decisions are not dying on the front line, and as multiple examples show, the government is full of corruption and influenced by violent and ideologically-driven pressure groups (whose leaders are also not dying on the front line, I’ll wager), not to mention the US blob.

It’s impossible to know what Ukrainians as individuals would do because emigration of both men and eligible women has been banned under the general mobilization being imposed on the people and free expression has been curtailed under martial law measures. Perhaps a measure of the true state of Ukrainian dedication to dying were the protests by wives that occurred earlier in the war. One was in the western region around Lviv, where women were protesting having their men sent into the conflict (although I can’t find an article about that now), and another was this protest of Mariupol garrison wives, who very sensibly wanted their men to be evacuated instead of dying pointlessly…
    https://www.theguardian.com/world/2022/may/06/wives-mariupol-soldiers-dispersed-police-kyiv-protest-ukraine-russia

Notice how they wrote their protest signs in English. That’s because they’re beseeching people like you, Steve, to recognize their plight–the plight of common people caught in a geopolitical game being played by Foggy Bottom and Langley and Brussels–and exert political pressure.

    It's more complicated I'm afraid--

    中国=China, "Middle Kingdom"
    人=man/person
中国人=Chinaman or "Middle Kingdom people" or "PRC people"

漢人=Han Chinese people, used mostly only in PRC

    華人=Chinese people, especially overseas Chinese
唐人*="Tang people", the name of overseas Cantonese for themselves. Chinatown is "唐人街" or "Tang people street"

中華民族=PRC Chinese people, incl. Uighurs, Tibetans, Mongols, etc.

    https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Names_of_China

*唐 から Kara is also the archaic Japanese name for China (since Japan and Canton came into recorded history around the same period in 6 CE).

It's also used in general as a name for foreigners: karate 唐手 "Tang hand" is so because it was foreign (Okinawan)

The first Europeans the Japanese encountered-- Iberians, were pejoratively called 毛唐 ketō "hairy Tang" or "hairy Chinamen", since Chinese were equated to being foreigners to the Japanese.

The differences between the traditional (pre-PRC)and simplified (PRC) characters used to write the term guo2 (country/kingdom/nation whatever) raise questions concerning his interpretation.

"European" is not a meaningful category, let alone an identity. Take it from a European.

Jack, does it ever, ever occur to you that the fact that (many) Jews openly discriminate in favor of other Jews and against non-Jews is part of the reason for some people’s antipathy towards Jews?

No, it’s not fair: it is not right to blame all Jews for the actions of some Jews.

But recently when I pointed out some objective but negative facts about Judaism… well, you made it clear that that is verboten.

It is as if non-Jewish Americans had a holiday every year to celebrate the Holocaust because, after all, most Christian families were “passed over” by the Nazi angels of death.

But for me to merely point out this simple fact means that I will be labeled “anti-Semitic,” even though I am also critical of Islam, Hinduism, Christianity, etc.

There is no reason to believe that most of the offensives are by foreign mercenaries. That is ridiculous.

Here is some footage of a recent battle and not one from WW1:

Think of it for a moment as a simple cost/benefit calculus.

Well, Jack D claims to be an American lawyer, but also claimed that the United States did not exist before the Constitution was written.

Anyone who ever took an American history class knew this was not true, and a lawyer especially would know it is not true.

So, there is indeed something fishy about our friend Jack D.

But I find it hard to believe that an anti-Semite would go to all this trouble.

I suspect Jack D is what he seems to be: a guy who is not nearly as bright as he thinks he is, who perhaps did manage to graduate from a fifth-rate law school, and who does not feel any loyalty at all to the United States of America.

In all the discussions here about race and ethnicity and immigration and so on, I think this is the main point we have all been missing.

As I have mentioned, I married into a Chinese immigrant family. Decent, productive, law-abiding citizens, but they do not feel any sense of stewardship for the American Republic.

In terms of Sailer's favorite scene from The Good Shepherd, yeah, they do act as if they are "just visiting":

    https://youtu.be/kzWGPQ9Rs_Y

And that is how Jack D behaves: we argue about Ukraine and Jack argues that it would be good if Putin left Ukraine.

Perhaps. But why it is best for the United States of America to pour tens of billions into that shithole country and risk nuclear war?

That question does not really make sense to Jack: he may try to convince the rest of us that somehow American interest will be served by stopping Putin, but he is really just arguing a case for a conclusion he has already reached.

I am not claiming all Jews think this way. Two of the brightest Jews I have known personally were the physicist Richard Feynman and the economist Murray Rothbard. Neither made any bones about being of Jewish descent, but I never saw either of them behave in a Podhoretzina manner that indicated that their primary loyalty lay anywhere except to America.

But I have known other Jews who, like Podhoretz and Jack D, very clearly did not owe their first allegiance to America.

And that, I think, is really the main issue we should be thinking about in terms of immigration: I do not blame folks who want to come here to have a better material life for their families.

But in considering whether to let them in, we should be considering whether the people we let is will acquire a sense of stewardship for the American Republic.

Because those who don't will try, like Jack D, to involve this country in the quarrels of foreign nations that risk getting us all killed.

In terms of Sailer’s favorite scene from The Good Shepherd, yeah, they do act as if they are “just visiting”:

Because those who don’t will try, like Jack D, to involve this country in the quarrels of foreign nations that risk getting us all killed.

Ashkenazi Jews are Europeans. And they look like it.

They look like literal Caucasians - Georgians, Armenians, etc.

Well… I do not know any Georgians and not that many Armenians. And of course the Jews I have known do not look like Icelanders.

But I have known lots of Jews who could have passed as Germans or Italians or Slavs.

Ashkenazi Jews are really Europeans, both genetically and in appearance.

They are Europeans whose ancestors chose to isolate themselves from the broader society in which they lived.

    But they are Europeans.

Dave, consider the possibility (likelihood?) that Jack isn’t really a Jew, instead an anti-semitic troll, acting out every Jewish stereotype in an over-the-top way

The French have Charles Martel, Pepin the Short, Charlemagne, Noah's wife - Joan of Arc, Pascal, Descartes, Montesquieu, Layfayette, Alexis de Tocqueville, Charles de Gaulle, Pepe Le Pew, and Inspector Clouseau to their credit.

But against the same, they have also Pepin the Fat, Louis XVI, Rousseau, Voltaire, Robespierre, Napoleon, Dreyfus and Inspector Dreyfus, Zola, Comte, Sartre, Derrida, Lévi-Strauss, Foucault, Bernard-Henri Lévy, and Macron. All of whom we can condemn as miserable malefactors.

My initial response, without scrutinizing the superficial survey above, was that the positives are crushed by the negatives, and it is not even close. But then the French have their wonderful "joie de vivre," which I do presume to gainsay.

    I wish them well.

Louis VXI, Voltaire, Alfred Dreyfus, and Zola definitely do not belong in that list. Comte seems to have been more misguided than malevolent. Macron can’t do much given the electoral realities of France — and neither could anybody else in his position.
