From the New York Times:

White House Considered Releasing Migrants in ‘Sanctuary Cities’

By Michael D. Shear and Zolan Kanno-Youngs
April 11, 2019

WASHINGTON — President Trump’s top aides considered an idea to pressure immigration agencies to release apprehended migrants into so-called sanctuary cities represented by Democratic lawmakers, according to several people familiar with the proposal. …

Ms. Davis suggested that migrants who had been apprehended and were slated to be released into border towns could instead be taken to one of several sanctuary cities, which limit how local law enforcement can cooperate with federal immigration officers.

The proponents of the idea inside the White House argued at the time that it would help with overcrowding at nonprofit shelters in border towns by transferring the migrants to cities that already embrace the idea of having more immigrants, one official said.

Once there, the migrants would be released onto the streets — potentially sending a message to the Democratic politicians who oppose Mr. Trump’s immigration agenda and his demands for a wall along the border with Mexico.

… Matthew Albence, the acting deputy director of ICE, objected to the idea, telling the White House that there would be liability issues if a migrant were injured during transport. He also raised concerns that the agency’s budget had not been appropriated for that purpose.

A spokeswoman for Speaker Nancy Pelosi, Democrat of California, who represents San Francisco, one of the most high-profile sanctuary cities in the country, condemned the idea on Thursday night.

“The extent of this administration’s cynicism and cruelty cannot be overstated,” said Ashley Etienne, a spokeswoman for Ms. Pelosi. “Using human beings — including little children — as pawns in their warped game to perpetuate fear and demonize immigrants is despicable, and in some cases, criminal.”

Ms. Etienne added, “The American people have resoundingly rejected this administration’s toxic anti-immigrant policies, and Democrats will continue to advance immigration policies that keep us safe and honor our values.”

Pelosi’s spokesperson went on to say that if undocumented migrants were released in the streets of San Francisco they might catch cholera from all the feces.

    Exactly.

The fundamental of minoritarian ideology is the lie that you bad whites are "oppressing" minorities by ... not having them around you! Minding your own business--or school or neighborhood or nation--is not actual oppression, but that's the narrative.

The good white--"Our diversity is our strength!"--demand is never that they be allowed to have all the diversity they want, it's that you flyover country white gentile, have your ass pickled in diversity and under no circumstance be allowed to have your own space.

Trump's suggestion here is part of my "separationist" propaganda/program. Tell the good-whites and minorities crowing about diversity, that they are perfectly well allowed to have diversity. But those of us who don't want it are entitled not to have it imposed upon us.

Keep beating this message--let's separate, you can have diversity, we'll have our nation.

And for goodness sake find some managers who belie in your program and aren't whiny little swamp cucks.

there would be liability issues if a migrant were injured...

You would think there would be a liability issue for those who aid and abet illegal entry and shield criminals from law. If you drive the car for a bank robber, and that robber murders someone, the driver is also charged with the murder as they facilitated the greater crime by their part in the lesser. Same should be true for politicians, attorneys general and courts that facilitate illegal entry and ignore its cost to citizens, whether that cost is only increased taxation and loss of quality of life or rape, murder and diseases that should have been quarantined from entry. I am an unwilling hostage to Oregon polices that require me to pay education and healthcare for those who illegally enter. The state is literally stealing my retirement to pay for their facilitation of illegal entry.

My congressional cardboard cutout says they tried to get a law passed, but I don't understand why they can't use existing laws to stop this nonsense.

    , @Gandydancer
    @Cloudbuster

Matthew Albence isn't concerned with the liability issues involved in setting up "refugee" enclaves in, say, Minnesota, either.

Why does he still have a job?

  20. But releasing immigrants on the streets of El Paso is perfectly fine.

  21. Matthew Albence, the acting deputy director of ICE, objected to the idea, telling the White House that there would be liability issues if a migrant were injured during transport.

Fire this guy and get somebody with some sand in him. Then immediately start this program up and funnel 100% of captured invaders into sanctuary cities, dropping them off in front of the houses of the local Dem big wigs.

Correct, Trump needs to get rid of this guy and all guys like him who can't get with the program. This is a perfectly sound idea, why would anyone complain? Liberals tell us we are blessed with illegals, they are he best of us all and will boost the economy. So take them.

We know what the real purpose of immigration, legal and illegal is: to make our lives miserable.

  22. The American Empire’s ruling class rats are making the whole United States of America a Sanctuary Nation for illegal alien invaders.

A beautiful lady named Kate Steinle was killed by an illegal alien invader in San Francisco because the Democrat Party refuses to enforce US immigration law.

President Trump is now refusing to deport the upwards of 30 million illegal alien invaders in the USA. Trump has refused to stop the Sanctuary Jurisdictions from giving safe harbor to illegal alien invaders.

Trump should arrest and imprison all political and law enforcement figures who push Sanctuary Jurisdiction policies.

    Daily Caller from 2015:

Francisco Sanchez admitted to fatally shooting 32-year-old Kate Steinle last week in San Francisco — he moved to the city, he says, because he knew that he would not be deported due to its “sanctuary city” policies.

In a jailhouse interview with San Francisco’s KGO, Sanchez — who has been deported back to Mexico five times — said that he shot Steinle on Wednesday with a gun he found wrapped in a t-shirt at a popular tourist destination. He also said that he does not remember much because he had taken sleeping pills.

Sanchez was also asked: “Did you keep coming back to San Francisco because you knew that they wouldn’t actively look for you to deport you?”

“Yes,” replied Sanchez, who has been convicted of at least seven felonies.

By adopting sanctuary city laws, San Francisco prohibits local law enforcement from helping federal immigration agencies in their investigations.

In keeping with those policies, the San Francisco sheriff’s department declined to honor a detainer request issued by U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) in March. The federal agency turned Sanchez over to the sheriff’s department, which had a drug warrant for him. At the time, ICE issued a written detainer request asking that the sheriff’s department send notice before releasing Sanchez.

Instead, the sheriff’s department dropped the charges against Sanchez and — ignoring ICE’s request — released him back onto San Francisco’s streets.

Less than three months later, Sanchez shot Steinle, who was walking with her father and a friend on Pier 14.

    Tweet from 2015:

  23. Rich white progressives like Pelosi should face the consequences of their own policies. 29. One unfortunate difference between Trump and the other presidents is his administration can’t just do things like this without the permanent bureaucracy shutting it down and leaking it. Nancy Pelosi and Treasonous Trump push mass legal immigration and illegal immigration.

They don’t work directly for the Pelosis. They work for labor contractors. Thus by law, the Pelosis aren’t liable for employing illegal aliens or the many violations of minimum wage laws overtime etc.

The Pelosis were always very well off. But since Nancy got into politics her and Paul’s wealth has soared due to the resorts restaurants vineyards and orchards, all businesses that use nothing but oppressed downtrodden poverty stricken immigrant workers. The Pelosi lands were spared by the Napa fires a couple years ago

But using human beings — including little children — as pawns in their warped game to perpetuate fear and demonize Trump voters is very, very good, and in some cases, Pulitzer-worthy.

Matthew Albence, the acting deputy director of ICE, objected to the idea, telling the White House that there would be liability issues if a migrant were injured during transport. He also raised concerns that the agency’s budget had not been appropriated for that purpose.

Wow, am I naive. When I was reading the sentence about "liability issues" where I thought it was going to go was "if a released migrant injures someone."

Ha ha. Silly me. Nobody cares about U.S. citizens.

Since the politicians from these areas are the reason we have open borders and will continue to see caravans from Latin America infiltrating our nation. We should build a big camp in Nevada, like the ones that housed Manhattan Project workers or more like Joe Arpaio's tent jail, in federal land for refugees and make it clear that these applications will proceed at the pace of Death Row appeals. They'll be fed confinement loaf and day-old bread and other incomestibles, and their shitting on the ground will be ok as long as they dig a hole and bury it. This will be enforced. Able bodied men will drill with shovels instead of guns and march a lot, women will be Norplanted. Resisters will be loaded on a C-130 and repatriated overnight. MS-13 members might have a problem with venturing too far on the ramp out of curiosity and going out with the slipstream with, of course, no parachutes.

As compared to that, Guatemala and Honduras won't be so unattractive, especially if we let a few SEAL teams go in and whack the most vicious gangbangers as a training exercise. Blooding the troops and all that.

    Exactly.

The fundamental of minoritarian ideology is the lie that you bad whites are “oppressing” minorities by … not having them around you! Minding your own business–or school or neighborhood or nation–is not actual oppression, but that’s the narrative.

The good white–“Our diversity is our strength!”–demand is never that they be allowed to have all the diversity they want, it’s that you flyover country white gentile, have your ass pickled in diversity and under no circumstance be allowed to have your own space.

Trump’s suggestion here is part of my “separationist” propaganda/program. Tell the good-whites and minorities crowing about diversity, that they are perfectly well allowed to have diversity. But those of us who don’t want it are entitled not to have it imposed upon us.

Keep beating this message–let’s separate, you can have diversity, we’ll have our nation.

And for goodness sake find some managers who belie in your program and aren’t whiny little swamp cucks.

  67. On the other end of the scale of terrible immigration policies, the sheer awfulness of Manhattan’s Hudson Yards project (featuring a literal stairway to nowhere) seems to make normal people more willing to notice that the EB-5 visa ain’t so great: https://www.citylab.com/equity/2019/04/hudson-yards-financing-eb5-investor-visa-program-immigration/586897/

  68. The problem is that Trump won’t actually DO any of this.

He said he was going to build a big, beautiful wall. Over two years later and nothing. He was going to issue an executive order ending birthright citizenship. He didn’t do anything other than talk about it. He didn’t close the border. He did send some military to the border – to do nothing but sit around and then leave a short time later.

Now, we learn that there was a proposal quite a while back to dump the immigrants in sanctuary cities. Of course, this went nowhere. Since the story came out, Trump is suddenly “considering” it again.

I won’t use her name, but she looked good in her white blouse and pearls and she would spill the beans on the open secret that the California GOP and the national GOP was partly controlled by the COCA crowd and the Cheap Labor Faction.

Swiss Kraut bald guy Eisenhower was reported to have been slightly bothered by the COCA Cheap Labor Bunch during OPERATION WETBACK in the 1950s, but Ike told them to go to Hell and he deported the illegal alien invaders.

Bald guy Ike and good looking broad in a blouse writing in VDARE stood up to the California Organized Criminal Agriscam crowd, don’t wait for Trump to do so.

"I tried to explain that the city had a sewage problem, not a sewage system problem ...."

Actually, SF also has a sewage system problem. Turns out the system pipes were laid with too little slope to handle the reduced flow from low-flow toilets, causing solid waste to back up and clog the city's pipes. Got to love those Sanctuary City types, who seem to have no clue about things like unintended consequences and externalities; we should be taking policy guidance from them?

I can remember when San Francisco just smelled like piss. But now……………

  92. Anonymous [AKA "Suleiman"] says:

Of course leftists don’t want a flood of illegal immigrants released into their “sanctuary cities”. This is all about importing new leftist voters to turn red states blue, or at least “purple”. It doesn’t further this end to have immigrants shipped to cities that are already solid blue.

The problem is that Trump won’t actually DO any of this.

Yes, unfortunately, that's quite true. He's appears to be nothing but a blowhard.

It’s true Trump hasn’t been able to deliver on his rhetoric, partly due to his lack of follow through and partly to determined opposition from all quarters. Still, I’ll take a blowhard that says things I agree with over all previous blowhard presidents, who’ve said nothing I agreed with. At least it gets some refreshing ideas into the discussion.

even better, with all the empty schools in San Francisco and the declining enrollment in the Los Angeles public schools the teachers unions would embrace this plan to relocate the hundreds of thousands of migrant children to their districts. Another reason this is a workable plan until we close the borders. We can even convert some of the old schools to refugees dormitories while they build the low cost housing for the migrants.

I remember spending the night in a high school gym when a blizzard closed the Thruway south of Buffalo. It was kinda fun, but I was a kid.

We were put up similarly doing relief work in Grand Forks after the 1997 flood.

The difference between us and the “refugees” is that we couldn’t wait to go home.
