Maybe Antifa tore down Abraham Lincoln’s statue for Columbus Day due to the speech Lincoln delivered at the White House to 14 Indian chiefs about how Indians should stop hunting and raiding and settle down to farming liked we pale-faced people do.

Also I bet my life savings that all the vandals support open borders. But if one really cared about red people and wanted them to get their lands and cultures back, then one would necessarily oppose open borders. They may come up with excuses, but the real reason is that any statue of a white man is the target. Eventually they won’t even need excuses anymore, for all those that still roll their eyes when people mention this is white genocide, how much more evidence do you need that this is really the end goal here?
I just looked it up and we seem to be on track for the smallest decadal population increase in the history of the US, in relative terms of course.
Even in the 1930s, the population grew 7.3%.
As of 2019, the Census Bureau estimates a 6.3% increase since 2010, and when we include this year, even without COVID, it wouldn’t be reasonable to expect much more than a 7% population increase since 2010. COVID occuring during a census year complicates things, and I haven’t seen any data nor do I care enough to look, but I think it’s a very safe bet that this year will end up having the lowest birth rate, the highest death rate and the lowest rate of immigration in a very long time.
Of course it will also probably end up having the lowest emigration rate too, but what was the immigration/emigration ratio in 2019?
Maybe Sean can explain it to his friend like this:

I don’t know anything about Tablet magazine, other than that Steve has based posts on its articles a few times (IIRC), and its home-page stories are mostly or entirely about Jewish-related stuff going on in America. Sean Cooper isn’t a name I recognize at all.
I take a very different tack, based on my own experiences, which includes “Some of my best friends are.” This is not a monolithic ethnic or religious group, marching in lockstep. It’s old-fashioned and out of style, but some Americans are patriotic and some are “let the facts fall where they may” kind of people, and some are both.
What I read was solid investigative journalism, those links that I had time to click, checked out. Unless I see reasons to think otherwise, I’ll keep thinking highly of Cooper and his editor.
It would’ve made more sense if it occurred under Obama. With Obama being a distant relative to the Confederate President Jefferson Davis. That some vague ancestral gene sequence made Obama have unexplainable contempt for President Lincoln. It likely didn’t help that Obama’s political career started in Illinois, Lincoln’s home state. The fact that it’s mostly whites tearing down the statues complicates things. I know what mass immigration is doing to demographic %s and cost/quality of living, making whites have fewer children as they are flooded by children of other races. I was in South Dakota this summer, and a BLM protest progressed through the city. There were maybe one or two young Sioux guys involved. The other 30-40 individuals present were white, 80 percent female, being led by a very tall blond guy with a deep voice who kept shouting “we are on stolen land” and “black trans lives matter!”
There were plenty of Natives downtown at the time, but they were mostly pleasantly drunk and cracking jokes outside the Native-run tourist trap store.

I met Sean Lennon once when he was a middle-schooler, and Yoko too, very briefly. This was in the late ’80s in NY. Sean was attending private school in NY and some friends of ours had a daughter in his class. The daughter decided to organize a class birthday party for Sean in Central Park. Her parents lingered nearby just to keep an eye on things and invited us – we would have a picnic while we were sitting around. Yoko, wearing her trademark dark glasses, came over to our blanket to thank the parents for organizing this (which in reality was the case) and she introduced herself : “Hi, I’m Yoko”, as if we didn’t already know who she was. A few pleasantries were exchanged and that was it. But I thought it was funny that she introduced herself in such a modest way. I’m not sure what the alternative is.
I hear that Yoko is 87 now and gets around in a wheelchair. Sad.

Fermin, Alameda St, as well as Catalina….then I remember… He should have just stayed posh, was good in A Room With a View and The Age of Innocence. That *serious* kind of actor is always a big deal if they know how to present it, but I’ll take Al Pacino (even in recent lightweight things.)

I agree with your 1st paragraph, L.P. However, I don’t think many people understand the States’ Rights aspect of this anymore. I don’t mean regarding the politics that went on for decades before that war. I just mean that once these Southern States decided to secede, they had a right to do so. There is nothing in the US Constitution, taken seriously back then, that says otherwise.

The left shouldn’t get so hysterical about Republican picks for the SCOTUS. Half of them turn out to be more-or-less liberal anyway. When a Democrat puts a justice on the Court, they’re reliably left-wing. When a Republican does, they’re generally not reliably right-wing.

First of all, the North had most of the heavy industry (munitions factories, etc.) to begin with. And a free white labor force is more skilled and motivated than an enslaved black population. You can imagine that blacks were especially not motivated to help the Confederate cause and would often desert if they were anywhere near Union lines. The Confederates also had to keep a certain # of white people of military age behind in order to guard the slave population and prevent slave insurrection. Yes the Confederate were able to get SOME labor useful to the war effort out of their black population but not as much as their numbers would indicate.
If Trump had been sensible on how he responded, instead of minimizing it and then acting erratic, he would have still won. As it is, it looks like a Republican wipeout.

I watched some of the hearings this morning. The Left is not being hysterical by their usual standards (compare Kavanaugh, over whom they went absolutely nuts). The senile Democrat Senators make speeches (“without evidence” as the NYTimes likes to say about everything that Trump claims) about how ACB is going to gut Obamacare and then they ask her a question and she says (as all nominees now say) that she cannot comment on matters which may come before the Court (which is everything). Then they ask her another question and it’s the same answer. It’s just kabuki theater and not at all hysterical.
I think that ACB is shielded somewhat by the fact that she is a woman and that she has her large, half-Negro family sitting right there in front of her. Are they gonna call her momma a rapist and make that little Haitian girl cry on camera? The Dems have not made any serious effort to assassinate her character in the way that they tried with Kavanaugh. Of course they are going to vote against her anyway, but they are not trying to destroy her.
Is that the best measure? Obviously people prefer getting together with their own kind in real life. I hardly believe online dating is some free realm where they get to pursue their true desires.
