Obama wants people to walk away with the impression that he was the black son of a black single mother, when in reality, his “single” mother was white, and she wasn’t always single during little Barry’s childhood. Also, the only reason he’s the “black” son of a single mother is the one drop rule. However, this black child of a black single mother has a lot of street cred. Which is why he’s peddling it, trying to identify with the N’Deshawntaviouses who are the sons of single mama Shaniqua.

Now Obama doesn’t care anymore and has gone full “fuck whitey”, white people who voted for him as “post racial” (remember that?) must feel like dopes. You got played.

Erica Garner isn’t as educated or polysyllabic as a lot of the Black Lives Matters advocates, but I listened to a short interview with her on Brian Lehrer’s show and came away very sympathetic to her for a few reasons:

A) Her brother’s story is probably the saddest of all of these.
B) She actually spent some time talking about some (putatively racially blind) methods that could conceivably, possibly, reduce police homicides.
C) I think she actually cares about the issue, rather than just seeing it as a way to get more Diversity Czar jobs for black Yale grads and get white 20-somethings to pull the knob for Hillary in the Fall out of guilt. You’ll notice that her behavior here is the biggest downside to the event for Obama/Hillary, because as ghetto as she’s arguably acting, she’s entirely correct that it was a farce that is exploiting pain and grief for political ends.

The rainbow White House reminds me of what I saw in San Diego this past week. The preparations for today’s “Pride” Parade in the Hillcrest neighborhood were amazingly over the top. Every shop on Fifth Avenue (and many surrounding streets) had, at the least, a rainbow pennant in its window–and many had much more. It reminded me of nothing so much as Vaclav Havel’s 1978 essay “The Power of the Powerless”:

Reminds me of the Obamacare bend-the-curve “fraud and waste” gymnastics. I think Hussein took a look at the Clinton Foundation and decided it’s a pretty sweet gig. He probably wants in on that action. Notice that law-abiding Blacks are having their hostility directed towards the police for hassling them, rather than the true source of the problem: the Black criminals that have established the stereotype. Conveniently, this leads to calls for the police to change, not the Black community.

Here’s another point about Obama that people tend to forget. He had an older male figure around the house in his developmental years to enforce discipline, unlike a lot of black sons of single mothers. Obama has always been tone-deaf and awkward when he tries to talk to “the American People.” The crazy stuff he was saying about the Bowe Bergdahl case just left me shaking my head. But what do you expect from a guy who’s spent his whole life either outside America or on its very fringes?

This is the one aspect of BLM that is correct. It is a problem specific to the black community and stating Black Lives Matter is merely to draw attention to this fact – to refer to the cartoon about this issue going around, it’s like saying “my house is on fire” when it is, indeed, burning. It doesn’t mean other houses don’t matter. They just aren’t burning now. SO, there is nothing wrong with drawing special attention tot he burning house and ignoring the others.

Of course, everything else BLM claims is tragically wrong. To continue with the burning house analogy, the BLM solution is to stupidly attack the firemen. Because they happen to be around when a fire occurs, they do stuff like breaking down doors with axes, etc. The fires are their fault. Let’s attack the firemen, harass them, and keep them from doing their job. Will more people die of fires then? Too bad. Let’s overlook the pattern of falling asleep high with a lit cigarette dropped in a pile of newspapers lying on the shag carpet, nothing can be done about that.

If BLM and its supporters were actual leaders on this issue, they would keep it real and focus on crime and its causes, such as broken homes, glorification of antisocial behavior in the subculture, tolerance and coddling of criminals, and yes some longstanding legacy of racism and oppression. But doing that is hard, it’s much easier to demonize the cops who have nothing to do with the problem, other than fixing its consequences.

It was the old negro high school during segration and they sent the kids from the military base there after integration. It was essentially like prison.

Well, they’re smart enough to know that “ending black criminality” isn’t going to happen.

My perception is that there’s an enormous amount of regional and local variation in the extent that the cops pull people over.

The only time I ever got a speeding ticket was for going flagrantly over the speed limit on a road known for deadly car accidents.

Yet I know people who live in different areas of the country who say that cops frequently pull people over for minor traffic violations that don’t pose any sort of safety risk. It’s just the way the local government is funded.

This leads to blacks feeling persecuted, because they know from conventional wisdom that it’s pretty rare to get pulled over, but they happen to live in a speed trap/ticket mill area where it’s very common.

It’s an example of the tendency of white people to just suck it up and accept unfair treatment backfiring, because it just leads to blacks feeling like they’re getting a unique raw deal from society.

As I recall, the reason Trayvon was staying with his father in Orlando was that his mother couldn’t handle the young thug in Miami where she and Trayvon lived and asked her former husband to take Trayvon off her hands. It’s interesting that these young blacks who get killed in one of these high-profile cases are worth more to their parents dead than alive. I believe the City of Baltimore conferred $6.5 million on the parents of Freddy Gray, which is a hell of a lot more than that drug hustler could have made in his lifetime even if he lived to 100. I wonder if Hillary has hit on Trayvon’s mom to make a donation to the Clinton Foundation.

The cop’s body camera video makes it seem much less disturbing (in terms of police behavior – it was obviously a tragedy). It was probably suicide by cop.

All of the pro-BLM politicians and media commentators try to put some “equality” in their remarks by saying that they are saddened by the deaths of Alton Sterling, Philandro Castile, and 5 Dallas Police Officers. Sad and telling that Sterling and Castile are acknowledged as individual named human beings and the 5 Police Officers merely acknowledged by their employment, no mention, never any mention, of the their individual names or personhood. That tells me something.

BLM is best understood as an anti-white movement to both induce white guilt, and energize black turnout for the Democrats. Under the rules of the Narrative, any white resistance to insane SJW ideas is automatically the worst secular sin possible.

Think of it like when Jack Straw said he was going to rub the right’s nose in diversity. BLM both agitates and humiliates. You can’t negotiate with them, you can only hope they either burn out or enough of their supporters jump the shark on being anti-white.

What’s happening now with the Democratic party is the same thing that happened to the MSM after the advent of Fox News and the online conservative media. Now that Trump is clearly standing up for white Americans in a way no candidate has since Reagan (“Cadillac driving welfare queens,” anyone? What a phrase), the Democrats are losing white voters at the margin and must explicitly become the black party (or minority, as Steve pointed out they would prefer) to make up for lost whites. In reality, the Democrats have been the black /minority party for a long time, but until now a lot of working class and socially conservative whites were either stupid enough not to know it or thought Democrats’ unionism was more important. Those marginal whites are being lost because there is an explicit alternative, so Democrats must double down in such a way that the mask slips.

Similarly, when Fox News provided an explicitly conservative alternative to the MSM, the MSM lost all pretense of being neutral starting ~2003. Most people now understand that considering NBC, CBS, or ABC’s news divisions unbiased is laughable because they are so nakedly partisan. Back in the ’90s, when they could be more subtle with their misdirection because there was no alternative, there was a much more compelling appearance of neutrality among the MSM.

We honor the police because of the risk they take, not because they apprehend criminals. Justice for the wronged and against the criminal can be administered without a police force. But it is a police force that we expect to put their lives on the line to protect and serve. When the risk inherent in the job is diminished to a great extent by an itchy trigger finger, the police do–and ought to–lose the special respect they have traditionally been awarded.

I realize that Jeb!!! withdrew after his humiliating loss in SC a week or two before the FLA primary, so his campaign was probably not responsible, but I couldn’t believe the absolutely huge onslaught of negative ads against Trump that were running virtually nonstop down here in south Florida in the weeks leading up to the Florida primary. Nevertheless, Trump won Florida in a blowout, and he was able to joke later that night about all the negative ads against him that he saw whenever he turned on a TV. It was actually a pretty funny little routine, but, to anyone living in south Florida, it rang absolutely true. I’m sure the Florida experience was repeated in many other states. I was encouraged by the fact that negative ads don’t have the same impact they used to, at least when Trump is concerned. Obama poses something of a conundrum in terms of his ethnicity. On the one hand, he can rightfully claim that he is the first person of “African-American” descent to be elected president in as much as the father was born in Africa (Kenya) and his mother was born in America. On the other hand, it cannot be said, strictly speaking, that he is the first “black” president in as much as his mother was Caucasian (of Englis descent, with a smattering of Irish I believe). Traditionally, lineage is traced through the mother rather than the father, in which case the argument can be made that he is more European-Caucasian than he is African. So about all that can be said on this subject is that Obama is the first Person of Color (mulatto?) to be elected president. Hopefully he will be the last.

Much of the “white” vote is channeled into the religious vote because it is the next closest tribe you can belong to without explicitly claiming to be white. We all want to be around people just like us but that is much harder to do if you are white because of the repression. This is why people are coming out of the woodwork to support Trump. They don’t have to wait until Sunday to hope someone will advocate for who they are and what they believe in. Church is also a cultural organization. My own tribe, the Episcopalians, have become so cucked out that the only difference between the Church hierarchy and the DNC is that they are worse.

Yet I know people who live in different areas of the country who say that cops frequently pull people over for minor traffic violations that don’t pose any sort of safety risk. It’s just the way the local government is funded.

The impression I get from cops (I read cop forums occasionally) is that highly-paid cops are much more aggressive about enforcing the law, while lower-paid cops are much less so. This definitely fits my own experience. We have very low-paid cops in my area, and I see multiple drunks weaving about on the roads every time I go out late at night. Multiple, seriously-impaired drivers, EVERY time, even if I’m only driving for a few miles. People don’t get that blase about drunk-driving unless they’re not particularly worried about getting pulled over. I was driving late night not too long ago, and found myself braced by seriously drunk drivers, one directly in front, one directly behind.

So yes, I agree, the level of policing varies widely by region.

Basically true. The initial (lapdog media) reports from Nice were that Mohamed wasn’t a terrorist as he wasn’t on any terrorist watch lists. As if terrorists are discovered like baseball prospects–you’re not one until the big league scouts see you play.

I can’t help but look at Obama as the first mulatto president. The easiest way to torpedo #BLM is to focus on unarmed whites shot by cops, which removes the racial angle. There are plenty of those.

You could show plentiful black on black homicides but that would be perceived as victim blaming and just inspire further resentment.

However as I pointed out last week these shootings are symptomatic of high levels of black crime and thus racial profiling and the only way to solve that is to either raise up the black community or stop policing it so aggressively, and the latter will only cause crime to spill out into the white hoods.

Why not report the daily black-on-white murders from around the nation?

I said directly after Dallas that Trump was just elected. Five cops assassinated? You can’t make that disappear, except with something worse. As CO said, the fire was started, how do you put it out… Combine ‘zero impulse control’ with ‘because we can’ and the wheels come off.

Hillary will double down with her “Better Together” slogan, ‘this is not who we are, we’re better than this’ crap, while Trump will point out the politically-incorrect inconvenient facts.

The media is making a big mistake with the BLM nonsense. Go to any community meeting in the inner city (including NYC where the crime rate is waay down), and the mothers and grandmothers plead with the cops to do more to get the thugs off the streets.

BLM is just the next evolution in racial grievance mongering (and $$) after, first Jesse Jackson, and then Al Sharpton.

Politicians including POTUS should not be validating #BLM. If there’s an issue with police homicides we should recognize first that without video we would never hear about 90% of them.

One can argue up and down that these killings are legit but the videos are visceral and people react to that.

As long as all police homicides are gonna be on Facebook, the standards have to change. Otherwise this won’t stop. Meanwhile racially charging the issue a la #BLM has to be repudiated.

Problem is that Black Grievance has become a major movement, which actually only disrupts everything, accomplishes nothing positive, and does not address the underlying situation in terms of failed black communities, mostly in the North. How do you call that out without being labeled with the R word?

Needless to say Black Grievance also polarizes and inspires hatred among non-blacks. I haven’t seen so much contempt for black folks in over 50 years. This isn’t going to end well.

No, because that has always been the case. The difference is that all these killings are on YouTube where formerly they were on page 13 of the paper.

With W Bush I often used to ask myself, “Is he stupid or insane?” I never really arrived at a satisfactory conclusion.

You weren’t alone. The media couldn’t decide if W was clever or dumb, as their reporting usually include both in the same conclusion.

Same as black on black killings, it will be perceived as victim blaming and hate inspiring.

Also, I run into a lot of guys who talk like Patrick Warburton. Probably about a third of the guys who come by my place to repair things sound like him, for example.

I saw this over and over again with a SWPL friend of many years who turned hard left (and consequently is now a former friend). She became a tiresome cliche–a career woman who refused to marry because she didn’t want to lose her independence but who voted for Obama because of Obamacare. She saw no contradiction and no hypocrisy in this. In conversation she would turn my most innocuous, non-political comments into an excuse to launch into a politicized anti-white rant. It was appalling. And, I suspect, far more pervasive than many on the alt-right realize.

Mike Brown’s killing wasn’t on video. If it had been, Black Lives Matter would never have gotten the momentum it did.

Well, OK. But what should the police do? Just let people pull guns on them?

So restrict access to information across the board because one demographic can’t be trusted to process that information lawfully–never mind civilly.

I’d much rather see an epidemic of blue flu in areas where that demographic is most concentrated.

They don’t want whites policing them? Fine. Let them police themselves.
